Also, obviously we just all trust in his ability to get people to do really stupid things for him. He convinced the rest of them to lift him in a palanquin/sedan chair and beat drums while he played mid-century victorian hunter.

The gang comes included, and you get to lounge like a roman hedonist and get fed grapes. That's just how it works.

is scorpinok a scorpinok? what about scorpinok, who is supposedly the last of the scorpinoks?

Dinobot?

Aw yeah!

First impression:

My first impression of the entirety of Beast Wars (garnered I think from the dinky 2007 transformers guide book) was that it was super ugly and TOTALLY lame and clearly Beast Machines (which I had also never seen) and also the cool and hip new movie were definitely better. Yeah. I think my actual first impression of Dinobot was either watching Code of Hero as the first piece of BW media I had ever seen (in 3 parts, 144 qual on youtube), or Other Vengeance, by Wayward Insecticon. In either case, I thought he was pretty cool? I really like dinosaurs tho, so that’s a given.

Impression now:

Aw yeah! Dinobot is awesome and as silly as shakespeare quoting dinosaur robot is, the writing in BW was of a quality to make it seem a) believable and b) actually dramatic at points. He’s still a dinosaur and he’s still cool.

Favorite moment:

I’d say Code of Hero because it was my first introduction to the series as a whole (I was a fool child), and as much as I actually do like that episode, I’d probably have to say either when he refuses to go back to Cybertron with the Maximals in Victory (good world building!), or the entirety of the Low Road. That speaks volumes to my terrible sense of humor.

Idea for a story:

I ws sure I had a half written Dinobot thing hanging out in my google docs but I guess I was mistaken, so, uh... Dinobot for some reason becomes trapped and needs to work with a Predacon (probably Scorpinok but maybe Tarantulas?) to make it back to their respective bases. Exploration of Predacon culture, the ramifications of Dinobot defecting, the history of Megatron’s crew and the Golden Disc heist, some doofy comedy, perfect.

I might be tempted to write that someday.

Unpopular opinion:

As much as I personally do enjoy fix it fics, I think Dinobot coming back from the dead and taking over Dinobot II is a bit... trite? This has less to do with the character than it does with the fact that I think bringing a character back from the dead, in any capacity (ehem, James Roberts, alternate universes, ehem) is really cheap.

Favorite relationship:

Dinotrap. 100%. At some point I think I may have made a magnet or something and it probably went on the refrigerator door. According to my ff.net profile, I used to like Dinobot/Optimus Primal, but I don’t actually remember that. I’ve also read a truly excellent Dinobot/Megatron fic.

Favorite headcanon:

I... don’t actually know. Maybe that he and Megatron’s season one crew worked together for a while before crashing on earth? I’m not sure if that’s headcanon or not...
