31 DAY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT WRITING CHALLENGE
DAY 15: What kind of lover is your celebrity? Are they the sweet, giving kind or more in it for themselves; openly affectionate in public or more reserved?
Zendaya hasnât been romantically involved for a long while, and although sheâs always glad to be independent, she sometimes finds herself wishing she had someone to sleep next to that doesnât shed. Lover or no, sheâd be the kind of partner whoâs always there for the other, and whoâs always willing to listen, not just hear what theyâre saying. Give her time and sheâd be okay with some PDA.

DAY 20: Whatâs your celebrityâs relationship history like? A lot of hook-ups, many long-term relationships? Have they ever gotten very serious with someone before?
Zayn has not been the best with relationships. Heâs dated more than he can count, messed up more relationships than he can count and hooked up with so many heâs forgotten just how many they actually are. He has been serious, but never really had it work out before. It has never really dawned on him why and for a long time he really thought he was just doomed to fail, doomed to be the one that just jumped from bed to bed and he was okay with that. That was until he met Harry and his life changed. He has been hurt before, gotten himself in pesky situations before and he was worried, of course, that maybe it could happen again but he never, ever worried about Harry. From the moment the two of them found their way back together after just having history of crushes and teenage curiousity, Zayn knew that Harryâs arms were his place, his home, there he would be for the rest of his life. And all the other things in his history, all that used to be, it didnât matter anymore. All that matter was the future, not history, and his future is all Harry.

DAY 6: Your celebrity is given the chance to switch lives with one person⌠it can be someone in town, someone out of town, someone theyâve met, someone they donât even know â who is it and what do they do for the day?
Ryan carries the load around the house with the kids, sure, but he still doesnât know what his wife goes through what with... you know, being a mom. Most men donât ever really understand anything about womenânot truly, and though he tries, he never will fully know what it takes to be a mom. So, if there were one person heâd switch lives with, itâd be Blake. Maybe heâd get a whole new perspective on his family. Heâs also a little bit curious about how it feels to be married to Ryan Reynolds. He guesses itâs probably a mixed bag.

31 Day Character Development Writing Challenge
(days 11- 31)
DAY 11: When does your celebrity feel their best? Are they the type that does best with time off, hanging out at home with the family or the dog on the couch, or do they find themselves feeling the most at ease while working?
She feels her best when enjoying some time off to work on herself. This is typically during hiatus for her, where she can start off her day feeling like a badass post workout, hang at the beach with her girls, then be lazy for the rest of the day on the couch with Kleo and a bag of chips. Everybody needs time to just chill out, and itâs a time for her to be her best self that doesnât involve waking up at 5am for hair and makeup as most other times in her life.Â
DAY 12: Why did your celebrity choose the house that theyâre currently living in? Was there something that drew them to the space, or a price point that it fell under, or some special reason that they decided to take the plunge?
Janel loves any excuse to be near the water, so settling over in the Retreats was a natural choice especially in comparison to the home she was just moving out of blocks from the beach. Sheâs used to a smaller, simpler living. It was a perfect compromise considering other options sheâd seen in town.Â
DAY 13: Describe the contents of your celebrityâs night stand. Is it full of naughty secrets? Do they keep precious family mementos? What about the surface, do they have things thrown about, is it organized?
Her night stand is fairly organized, though she does tend to collect things like water bottles on top. Inside of the drawer is mostly miscellaneous things like packs of tissues and a handy bottle of painkillers. Books occasionally make their way on and off of the table, as now most reading she does isnât from from a physical book. Always found are always pens, pencils, and highlighters as well as she tends to read her scripts while in bed. Anything else, might need to be cleaned out but it isnât messy by any means.Â
DAY 14: Winter can be a bit dark and bleak, and sometimes that leads to down days. How does your celebrity handle those? Is there someone they talk to, something they do to feel better, or do they end up keeping it to themselves and dwelling?
Janel talks to her mom and sister every day, even if for just a few minutes. If she needs to talk to anyone, they are her go-to. However, as someone who is prone to feeling everything hard, if she canât talk things out with family she immediately turns to locking herself in her music room to write. Writing and the occasional composition is her personal form of therapy. If she didnât write, sheâd end up keeping it in until she blew up, so in order to avoid that music and wine is her go-to to feeling better. Maybe even a good cry.Â
DAY 15: What kind of lover is your celebrity? Are they the sweet, giving kind or more in it for themselves; openly affectionate in public or more reserved?
Janel falls fast and loves hard. Sheâs always one to sacrifice for love, or what she thinks is love, even work. Her priority is typically her man, though at the end of the day even without her realizing it, her relationships often suffer because she has difficulty waiting to jump into the next. Affectionate does not begin to describe her. She wants everyone to know who her boo is, constantly posting pictures, without any ability to keep her hands.. or mouth to herself. She is always one to start throwing around âI love youâ quicker than most would think appropriate but at the end of the day, she canât help it when she feels sheâs in love.Â
DAY 16: The world stops on a certain day of the year, and stays that way forever â what day would your celebrity choose to stop the clocks on? (Month and day.)
Any of the last few times sheâd been reunited with her entire family, particularly her grandparents. Since her grandfatherâs alzheimers diagnosis, itâs been tough on the family not being able to get together often to see him. So, maybe her sisterâs wedding being the last time everyone was together.Â
DAY 17: How does your celebrity handle being sick or hurt? Are they the type of person to obey the doctorâs orders and stay in bed? Or are they the kind thatâs up and doing things far before they should?
Being sick and being injured are two completely different stories for Janel. If she is sick, she will refuse to see a doctor and revert back to being a needy child. Sick days require home remedies, soup, and cuddling with either another human or Kleo or her stuffed bear. Maybe even all three. Being injured however, sheâll keep quiet for as long as possible. With a pretty high pain tolerence, it takes quite a lot of pain for her to cry. If sheâs in enough pain to shed tears, she knows itâs serious enough to get professionally checked out. And although she does her best to follow doctors orders, she may decide to ignore them if they interfere with work.Â
DAY 18: Pick three things that your celebrity owns or possesses that are important to them, and explain why they care about them so much. Please exclude animals or people!
Her final wrap gifts from Liars, the ring and jacket, in remembrance of a chapter as a family for the group who survived seven years together creating something theyâre truly proud of. She also has priceless jewelry given to her by her grandmother back home which is important for that very reason.Â
DAY 19: Does your celebrity have a lot of friends, or do they tend to rely on a smaller group of friends?
Janel truthfully has a small circle that are her true friends, but often times calls acquaintances her friends, and her friends her best friends. She has a specific handful who have stuck with her through thick and thin who were truly her best friends and those she has made more recently who are on their way to join that position in her life. Â
DAY 20: Whatâs your celebrityâs relationship history like? A lot of hook-ups, many long-term relationships? Have they ever gotten very serious with someone before?
Back to back long term relationships over the past decade, with the occasional fling in between. She is a serial monogamist who does not know how to be single for very long. Most of these men are people she has worked with, at one time or another. However, her two most publicly speculated relationships are both unconfirmed flings that she refuses to speak on as they occurred back to back and interfered with her job. Of all of these relationships, only one has ended close to marriage.Â
DAY 21: Travel time! Where in the world would your celebrity like to go if they were given the opportunity to take an all-expenses paid trip to anywhere in the entire world? The catch is⌠itâs a solo trip that theyâre taking alone.
Anywhere where she can drink from sun up to sun down while lying out on the beach. It might be nice to visit Turks and Caicos again, as last time she took her sister she had purely jumped at the opportunity as a means to get the hell out of LA and away from the drama overwhelming her life at the time. So, it would be nice to return to what was one of her favorite vacation spots, without having to feel doomed about returning home.Â
DAY 22: Whether theyâre into acting, music, a sport⌠what has been the project that your celebrity is the most proud of?
Her two biggest projects thus far. Liars established her career as a real actress and taught her about the business. Itâs given her career the opportunity to expand in ways she never even considered, all stemming from the show. Luckily, the spin off gives her a chance to continue that journey and testing her limits in acting. Of everything else sheâs done over the years, Dancing had the most impact on her personally. The journey challenged her not only physically but emotionally and mentally to a degree she never expected, and it was all worth it for the experience in the end. She grew up a lot in the aftermath as well. Both shows shaped an extensive part of her life from which she grew up, and looking back, is the proudest accomplishments of her career.Â
DAY 23: And on the opposite side of the spectrum, is there a project that your celebrity has worked on that they absolutely regret, for one reason or another?
She doesnât regret any projects because they have all taught her about life and led her to where she is now. But letâs be real, Bratz is a little embarrassing to watch back. It was her first major film, and it bombed, and watching back is cringe-worthy. However, it gave her her best friends to this day and taught her lessons she needed before reaching the level she would a few short years later.Â
DAY 24: How does your celebrity handle the holiday season? Are they the kind thatâs very excited and upbeat? Do they tend to get somber around the holidays? Are they religious at all, or more in it for the traditions they create on their own?
Christmas is her favorite time of year. Christmas music makes her happy to the point sheâll be told to shut up several times throughout the month. The holidays always come up far to quick, in her opinion, and leave even quicker. She didnât grow up particularly religious but her family does celebrate Christmas with early morning presents and brunch. Typically, because her extended family is so far away, itâs a quiet and comfortable day spent relaxing and enjoying family time.Â
DAY 25: What is your celebrityâs Christmas (or other/no holiday, if they donât celebrate) routine like? Do they travel out of town, have family over? Wake up early, or take advantage of the holiday and sleep in? What do they do with the day? How has it changed since they were younger and at home?
Most years, her sister flies in and they both spend it with their parents and dogs. By that point, Janel has typically moved back in with her parents for a few days already, staying with them upwards of a week beforehand and a few days after. Christmas day is typically an early morning, breakfast mimosas and presents type of deal. A games of Chinese checkers while laying on the living room floor leads to Janelâs solo tradition of watching RENT or the Sound of Music or any other musical sheâs deemed Christmas appropriate while her folks rest. The day is just to relax and enjoy family time, typically ending with some wine and a book in hand to end the night. Back in Hawai'i, it would be a day spent at grandmas with the whole family and Janel was the one singing for the family after presents. Since moving to LA, itâs been her and her parents and sister. That list now includes her brother in law and the family dogs. Â
DAY 26: When the holidays end, is your celebrity the type that wants to undecorate and move on immediately to get back to normal, or do they keep things up and keep the spirit going longer?
Janel is lazy and will keep things up until her mom comes over to help take everything down. She loves Christmas and wishes it lasted longer, so as long as the decor is socially acceptable is good with her. New Years is often time the cut off for her to bring everything down. Â
DAY 27: Is your celebrity more of a city-dweller, or a farm person? Do you think that where they grew up had a big impact on that? And how do they do when theyâre living in the opposite situation?
She refuses to live downtown, the suburbs are more her scene. Growing up in Honolulu, she enjoyed her time when the family lived a ways away toward the mountains and spent her days on the beach. The house she owns in LA is a relatively small home in quiet neighborhood in North Hollywood. She was previously living in Long Beach, blocks away from a small beach. Now sheâs out by the water yet again in town. If she were to go back to living in a place like DTLA she would probably rip her hair out, itâs too much. Living out far in farm country also may not work, she relies too much on food delivery.
DAY 28: Growing up, was there one person that your celebrity looked up to more than any other, whether it be family, friend, or just someone else in their life? How do they feel about that person today?
Her mom, older sister, actresses like Lucy Liu and Ming Na Wen or Lea Salonga, and as she got older her cousin actress Kelly Hu when she began making it big. Each woman had a big impact on her life in different ways, mostly teaching her to believe in herself and that she was capable of anything no matter who she was, where she came from, or how she looked.
DAY 29: Imagine if your celebrity had never come to Bayview⌠where would they be right this moment? Who would they be with, and what would they be doing?
She would still be in Toronto working, but in her previous relationship heading for the alter. Without Bayview, sheâd be caught up in work to distract from everything else happening in life, and balancing that with wedding planning instead and in need of some time off. However, work prospects would still be the same, as she signed on for them over a year ago.Â
DAY 30: Itâs the year 2022, and your celebrity is still living in Bayview. Describe what you think their life is going to be like in five years; are they still in the same house, doing the same work? With the same person and social circle? Or has their life changed astronomically? Do you think the reality of where they are is where they would have wanted to be back in 2017?
Probably in a bigger place in the suburbs, married, maybe have a kid but sheâs still got plenty of time. All her time is spent between town and on location filming, her music career has also taken off. The same consistent people around her keeping her grounded. Itâs a good life. Life has started to fall together, so the next five years are expected to continue the trend.Â
DAY 31: If there was one wish that your celebrity could have come true for the upcoming year, what would it be and why?
To finally settle down and be happy, while work continues to be steady. So in other words, to be living comfortably. Other years have not been so nice. It would also be nice to get a little more credit and recognition for her work, which oftentimes goes unnoticed.Â

To be reconized on her acting jobs, get another big role, better off with a award. And to get over the affects of her desease.

DAY 31: If there was one wish that your celebrity could have come true for the upcoming year, what would it be and why?
That iZombie gets renewed for a fifth season. Heâs well aware that the chances of this are very slim and that itâs likely this is their last season but he dreads the day it becomes official. Rahul loves acting - not just being an actor and all that goes along with that, but the actual process of delving into a character and becoming the physical representation of someoneâs imagination put on paper and iZombie has been his first ârealâ job in the business. He knows that as a relative unknown outside a pretty niche fanbase, finding work again will be a challenge, nevermind one where he is playing on of the lead characters. More than that, he and his castmates have become a small family of their own and though he knows theyâll remain friends long after the shows final shot, the reality that there is coming a day, likely in the near future, that he will no longer see them on a daily basis for months on end saddens Rahul in a way that he may not admit to many people but keeps him up at night.

DAY 31: If there was one wish that your celebrity could have come true for the upcoming year, what would it be and why?
Not to get overly serious or anything but I think if there is one thing thatâs been missing in Drewâs life for most of it, itâs just a sense of peaceful contentment. Sheâs had a chaotic life, some of which was out of her hands and some of which was completely her own doing. She has a small piece of that now that she has her girls - she no longer feels like she is searching for her purpose. She knows they are what she is meant to do. There is still some remnants of her old life though that she carries with her, a bit of anxiety about not being good enough or doing things well enough, that sheâd like to finally let go of once and for all so she can just sit back and truly enjoy all the many things she has in her life that bring her joy.

DAY 31: If there was one wish that your celebrity could have come true for the upcoming year, what would it be and why?
That they somehow, magically, make teleportation a thing. She doesnât want to be ungrateful or seem as though she isnât super excited about all of the things happening in her life but being away from home has become more difficult in the past year - she has never been more in love with her life than she is currently and while that life includes acting and making movies, she sincerely wishes that it didnât mean so much time away from the people and places that make her life so special. Teleportation would solve that problem - she could go to work during the day, and be back by dinner.Â

DAY 19: Does your celebrity have a lot of friends, or do they tend to rely on a smaller group of friends?
Yes, Jennifer has a lot of friends and always liked to meet new people but she founds herself relying on smaller groups of friends and actually share her deepest secrets, problems and sad moments with a few closer friends. She likes to hang out with a lot of people and would never say no to meet someone new but when she doesnât like someone if itâs because of his attitude or personality she would stay away and wonât even try to get close. Jennifer doesnât really likes to share everything until she really thinks itâs the right time or she feels like she can trust that person and it ruined a lot of her past relationships. Plus not all of the people would accept Jennâs personality and she wonât waste her time with fake people or those who want her to change.Â

DAY 18: Pick three things that your celebrity owns or possesses that are important to them, and explain why they care about them so much. Please exclude animals or people!
Material things arenât really all that important when she thinks about it unless they have sentimental value. Daya keeps things safe when theyâre particularly special. Something she holds dear to her is the first jersey from when she played competitive basketball in school. She played a handful of sports, and quit all of them, but basketball was the one she really kept an interest in. Zendaya also keeps a charm bracelet given to her by a close friend of hers, with charms in the shape of a schnauzer and paw prints. Sheâs had two dogs in her lifetime, both schnauzers, and they both mean everything to her. She also keeps a framed copy of her first Vogue cover hanging on her wallâitâs a symbol of her success and one of her proudest moments. It reminds her of who she is and what sheâs worked for.

31 DAY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT WRITING CHALLENGE
Days 10 through 17
DAY 10: Is there something that your celebrity struggles to give up? Whether itâs a nasty habit, a person they shouldnât talk to, or something they just wish they could quit?
Not really, though some would probably say that he should quit smoking marijuana all together. He doesnât see this as a particularly bad habit though - he doesnât smoke often enough that it impedes his life in any real way and he enjoys the buzz that comes along with it, so heâs not looking to quit. Daveâs a pretty stubborn kind of guy though and if there is something he is determined to quit or give up, he can usually manage to pull it off given enough time.Â
DAY 11: When does your celebrity feel their best? Are they the type that does best with time off, hanging out at home with the family or the dog on the couch, or do they find themselves feeling the most at ease while working?
Dave loves working and heâs always been pretty selective about the projects he chooses (his brother would call him âfussyâ) but when he is at his absolute best is when heâs surrounded by the people he loves. Family has always been super important in the Franco household and since the passing of both his father and his grandmother, the realization that their time together is limited has made it even more important. Despite the near constant teasing and joking, anyone who has spent time with their bunch canât help but notice that there is a real sense of love and support between all of them and it is a source of strength for Dave to be able spend time with them.Â
DAY 12: Why did your celebrity choose the house that theyâre currently living in? Was there something that drew them to the space, or a price point that it fell under, or some special reason that they decided to take the plunge?
When Dave first moved to Bayview, he originally settled down in a house over in the Retreats but after a few months of that, he realized it was far more space than he and his two cats required and opted to find himself a townhouse downtown. It was mostly the design that drew him in though, he loves the brick walls and vaulted ceilings that make it feel bigger than it actually is. Itâs big enough that even when Lili and her pooch are over, it doesnât feel overcrowded, without being so big that it ends up feeling lonely when heâs home alone.Â
DAY 13: Describe the contents of your celebrityâs night stand. Is it full of naughty secrets? Do they keep precious family mementos? What about the surface, do they have things thrown about, is it organized?
Not much to be honest, Dave isnât someone who likes a lot of clutter so he tends to keep things fairly neat and tidy. Heâs got a charger/speaker for his phone and maybe a book or two. His wallet and keys also usually occupy the nightstand when heâs home for the evening. Other than that though, you wonât find much else int here - aside from a box of condoms, naturally!Â
DAY 14: Winter can be a bit dark and bleak, and sometimes that leads to down days. How does your celebrity handle those? Is there someone they talk to, something they do to feel better, or do they end up keeping it to themselves and dwelling?
For a long time, Daveâs go to when he was feeling a bit down was his cats - as much as he knows this is a one-sided love affair, there is something to be said about pets and their impact on our mood. Itâs hard to remain bleak when an adorable fuzzy creature is asleep on your chest, purring up a storm. In recent months though, Lili has been a constant source of cheer and uplift for him. Their relationship is both fun and lighthearted but also very genuine and earnest - there isnât anything he can imagine not being able to talk to her about and even in his grouchiest states, her smile alone is enough to brighten his day. Between her, Harry and Arturo, he canât stay down for long.Â
DAY 15: What kind of lover is your celebrity? Are they the sweet, giving kind or more in it for themselves; openly affectionate in public or more reserved?
In private, Dave is definitely very giving and a bit playful. Heâs not shy about showing the woman he loves just how much she means to him and enjoys both surprising her and being surprised. In public is a little different though - not that heâs opposed to being affectionate when others are around, heâs just fairly private about his deeper thoughts and feelings. So while a kiss under the mistletoe or holding hands while walking through The Village is completely comfortable, it takes a lot more for him to talk about his relationship with anyone other than his significant other. Heâs big on ensuring that what happens in their relationship stays between them as much as possible, though he recognizes that others might be more open in this regard so isnât offended or put off if they prefer to talk a little more.Â
DAY 16: The world stops on a certain day of the year, and stays that way forever â what day would your celebrity choose to stop the clocks on? (Month and day.)
This is going to sound cheesy and not very profound at all but asking him this question right now, there only seems to be one answer - the day he met Lili, so May 3rd. When heâd come to Bayview, he was a bit down on his luck and truthfully, feeling a bit sorry for himself and while there wasnât some big occasion that provided the opportunity for their meeting, there was fireworks right from the start. Meeting her might have just been random happenstance but it was what turned things around for him - not just because of what she brings to his life everyday, but because of how it changed his perspective on things. Heâd all but settled on being the townâs crazy cat lady for the foreseeable future and then in walks this beautiful, talented, incredibly kind woman that, for reasons that still elude him, saw something worthwhile in him (and his cats). If there was one place heâd like to stay forever, that would be it.Â
DAY 17: How does your celebrity handle being sick or hurt? Are they the type of person to obey the doctorâs orders and stay in bed? Or are they the kind thatâs up and doing things far before they should?
Dave is more of the obey all orders kind of guy, almost obsessively so - he doesnât like be out of commission for any longer than necessary and he feels like somehow, if he does what he is told karma will be good to him and fast-track the recovery process. Plus, heâs a bit of mamaâs boy, if heâs being honest, and so heâs learned that doing what the wiser people in your life recommend usually comes with better outcomes than trying to rebel against their instructions.Â

DAY 18: Pick three things that your celebrity owns or possesses that are important to them, and explain why they care about them so much. Please exclude animals or people!
Thereâs nothing that reminds Ryan of how lucky he is more than his wedding band. As long as that golden glint is there, he knows he couldnât be happier than he is right now. Ryanâs motorcycles also mean a lot to him. Heâs a huge motorbike buff, and is always looking to add more to his collection. Itâs one of his favourite hobbies. When heâs driving one of his bikes, itâs like a whole different world to him, especially when he has no destination. Thatâs how he clears his mind. He loves taking it for a spin through Green Acres where thereâs nothing but green. Finally, the Deadpool is one of his favourite possessions. He waited 11 years to make that film, so he was leaving with the fucking suit. It reminds him of the glorious movie baby heâs had the privilege of making, and represents himself as a whole.

DAY 29: Imagine if your celebrity had never come to Bayview⌠where would they be right this moment? Who would they be with, and what would they be doing?
Right now Shay would be landing on Maldivias or Thailand or somewhere pretty exotic. She likes big fancy parties for New Years. Probably with some celeb squad - she had done with Gigi, Selena, Zendaya. And of course, living with her dogs in LA.

31 DAY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT WRITING CHALLENGE
Days 18-30
DAY 18: Pick three things that your celebrity owns or possesses that are important to them, and explain why they care about them so much. Please exclude animals or people!
Jim Lee, a comic book artist, drew Rahul a Batman sketch for his 30th birthday it remains one his most treasured possessions to date. He also has a collection of recent and vintage Liverpool FC jerseys that would be ranked amongst his most prized possessions. Third, would have to be his guitar. He may not be winning any MTV Awards anytime soon, but when things get stressful or he just needs to check out for awhile, strumming away on that guitar is when he finds his most solace. Â
DAY 19: Does your celebrity have a lot of friends, or do they tend to rely on a smaller group of friends?
If you were to ask Rahul, he would tell you he has a lot of friends, but he does tend to keep most people at a certain distance. He can be difficult to get close to and even when he feels attached or close to someone, he isnât always the best at expressing it. So even many of his friends, would likely only be considered acquaintances to most others. Once he gets close to someone though, he rarely lets go and continues to have many friends from his childhood and adolescence even today. He definitely prefers smaller groups to larger crowds, though he likes to have many small groups and has groups of friends for specific interests in his life - friends that also enjoy football, friends that enjoy video games, work friends, etc (these days though, there is plenty of crossover among them).Â
DAY 20: Whatâs your celebrityâs relationship history like? A lot of hook-ups, many long-term relationships? Have they ever gotten very serious with someone before?
Rahul has always been a bit of a nerd, so his opportunities for hook-ups have been limited but prior to coming to Bayview, Rahul had also been in a long term relationship for a large part of his adult life (he was about 23 when they began dating), so itâs safe to say that it was serious. While neither of them seemed to be in a rush to get hitched, it ultimately is what caused the end of the relationship. Theyâd both felt as if there were things they wanted to do and accomplish before they settled in for the truly long haul and instead of strengthening them, like heâd thought it would, they eventually grew further and further apart as their paths diverged in different directions. Itâs a strange feeling returning to bachelorhood, and some days he enjoys it. Other days itâs a bit lonely.
DAY 21: Travel time! Where in the world would your celebrity like to go if they were given the opportunity to take an all-expenses paid trip to anywhere in the entire world? The catch is⌠itâs a solo trip that theyâre taking alone.
This is easy - heâs a pretty simple guy, who has two real passions outside of acting: video games and football (or, as we peasants call it, soccer). Rahulâs dream trip would include not just one city, but a series of cities while he travelled around the country (England, not America) watching his beloved Liverpool Football Club play in every city/stadium he could. If thatâs cheating, then he would likely want to attend a FIFA World Cup wherever it happened to be that year.
DAY 22: Whether theyâre into acting, music, a sport⌠what has been the project that your celebrity is the most proud of?
Itâs early in Rahulâs career, so his choices are limited here, but obviously iZombie is his pride and joy so far. Ravi is a lot of fun to play, but he appreciates that heâs been given opportunity to play some more complex scenes with him and that, while Rose is the center of the show, heâs not just simply a sidekick. Mostly though, when he hears how the fans react to the character and his portrayal of him, itâs hard not to feel as if heâs done a good job. Making people feel something and particularly something they can relate to is the core of what makes acting such a fulfilling job, so that sort of feedback absolutely contributes to a sense of accomplishment for Rahul.
DAY 23: And on the opposite side of the spectrum, is there a project that your celebrity has worked on that they absolutely regret, for one reason or another?
Again, itâs early in Rahulâs career and at this point, he doesnât have any regrets - heâs just grateful for whatever work he can get and hopes it continues to come.Â
DAY 24: How does your celebrity handle the holiday season? Are they the kind thatâs very excited and upbeat? Do they tend to get somber around the holidays? Are they religious at all, or more in it for the traditions they create on their own?
Rahul is rarely âexcitedâ about anything, but he does enjoy the spirit of the Christmas season - especially the parts where people go out of their way to be kind and help and uplift others, so heâs generally in a fairly jovial mood this time of year. Heâs not overly religious himself but he does continue to respect his familyâs traditions which include Mass on Christmas Eve, but he particularly appreciates the traditions they have made for themselves.Â
DAY 25: What is your celebrityâs Christmas (or other/no holiday, if they donât celebrate) routine like? Do they travel out of town, have family over? Wake up early, or take advantage of the holiday and sleep in? What do they do with the day? How has it changed since they were younger and at home?
These days, Rahul generally heads back to London to be with family for the holidays. Personally, heâs prefer to sleep in but his parents are early risers and usually wake him not long after the sun rises. Groggy, and perhaps a little crabby, they generally stop for coffee and breakfast and some tea before settling down to exchange gifts. The rest of the day generally includes him trying to convince his father to play whatever new video game he got as a present (thereâs always at least one) and his father trying to convince him to play Scrabble instead. After a lot of back and forth, he eventually relents. This is all while his mother (usually with the help of his sister) prepare a feast that is a bit of a mix of traditional Western Christmas dishes and Indian favorites. Stuffed, the family usually sits down together to both chat and watch a movie until they all begin to fade for the evening. Itâs simple, but nice.Â
DAY 26: When the holidays end, is your celebrity the type that wants to undecorate and move on immediately to get back to normal, or do they keep things up and keep the spirit going longer?
Rahul usually lets things linger for a few days after Christmas, but once New Years has come and gone, he generally packs everything away until the next year. Heâs not eager to have the holidays be boxed up, but he doesnât see much point in dragging it out much beyond January 1st either. Itâs all got to be put away eventually, so one may as well get on with it, as far as heâs concerned.
DAY 27: Is your celebrity more of a city-dweller, or a farm person? Do you think that where they grew up had a big impact on that? And how do they do when theyâre living in the opposite situation?
Rahul is absolutely an urban dweller - growing up in a city like London likely contributed to that but while he isnât exactly a social butterfly, he likes being close to the pulse of things. Where shops and pubs and restaurants and people are nearby. Rural/country living is more of an experience for Rahul, something he likes to enjoy for a weekend or a few days but the quiet, slow pace of such a lifestyle is not well suited to his personality and it doesnât take him long to crave the busyness of city life.Â
DAY 28: Growing up, was there one person that your celebrity looked up to more than any other, whether it be family, friend, or just someone else in their life? How do they feel about that person today?
Rahul is extremely close to his family and he admired both his parents, but like many young boys, he particularly looked up to his father. He instilled a great sense of respect for others and appreciation for what he has in Rahul and that is something that he carries with him everywhere. Despite his often sarcastic and cheeky nature, Rahul is very loyal to those close to him and never, ever takes for granted how fortunate he is to be doing what he loves and be able to make a decent living off of it, to be surrounded by people who love him and he loves back. He is extremely grateful for the opportunity he has been given on iZombie and appreciates every single fan of the show/Ravi (even if he doesnât always agree with them).Â
DAY 29: Imagine if your celebrity had never come to Bayview⌠where would they be right this moment? Who would they be with, and what would they be doing?
Vancouver and/or L.A. Prior to coming to Bayview, he maintained residence in both place, though most of his time was spent in Vancouver. So long as he is fortunate enough to have a place on iZombie, heâll continue to keep his condo there, purely for convenience when heâs working, but he gave up his place in L.A. If he hadnât found a spot like Bayview though, he likely would have stayed put. Not much outside of location has changed for Rahul though, outside of some friends made that he might not have if he hadnât come here.Â
He certainly hopes heâs doing the same work, perhaps not the same show (see Day 31), but acting at least. Everything else though is up for grabs - Rahul isnât the kind to think to far ahead or dream of the future. His focus tends to be more on the here and now and anything is possible. Ideally, heâd continue to be surrounded by good people, perhaps have found someone who can put up with him (and vice versa) enough to fall in love. As he pushes on towards his mid-thirties, family is definitely something that enters the equation. Itâs something he would like one day, but the timeline is open ended.Â

31 DAY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT WRITING CHALLENGE
Days 18-30
DAY 18: Pick three things that your celebrity owns or possesses that are important to them, and explain why they care about them so much. Please exclude animals or people!
Drew isnât very much into material thing, she tends to value people and her relationships more than anything else and while she has plenty of things that she loves. none of that is valued about the people (and pets) that she loves. Still, she has both of the hospital bracelets from the day both her children were born and they are tucked away safely so that sheâll always have them. She also has a photo of her, Olive and Frankie that sits on her make-up table, framed simply and decorated by her girls. Itâs absolutely her favorite photo of the three of them and she would be devastated if something ever happened to it. Itâs a little early to say just yet but thereâs also a certain ring she thinks she could end up treasuring just as much.Â
DAY 19: Does your celebrity have a lot of friends, or do they tend to rely on a smaller group of friends?.
Drew is friendly with pretty much everyone she comes across - she loves people and enjoys being around them for the most part. Sheâs a single mother of two, though, with a hectic work schedule, so there isnât always a lot of time for extracurricular socializing. Sheâd love to be able to spend time with everyone on a regular basis, but unfortunately she has to prioritize the people who mean the most to her so that she can be sure they are getting the time they deserve. She loves a good party though and when it works out that she can be there, she definitely will be and is a bit of a social butterfly, moving from person to person to try and catch up with as many as she can while she has the chance.Â
DAY 20: Whatâs your celebrityâs relationship history like? A lot of hook-ups, many long-term relationships? Have they ever gotten very serious with someone before?
If you can dream it, Drew has probably done it. Her younger years were wild, by most peopleâs standards, and there was a continuous chain of one night stands (far too many of which she only barely remembers), short-term, and (relatively) long-term relationships. Itâs a period of her life that she is simultaneously not proud of but doesnât regret either. She had a difficult childhood and a complex family and spent much of her younger years looking to others to love her. Sobriety and years of therapy, self-reflection and personal growth has turned things around though and she has enough self-love now that she no longer needs to compensate with the love of others. Still, she doesnât have a great history when it comes to long-term relationships - sheâs been married three times and engaged twice more but her longest relationship was with the man who fathered her two children, and even that lasted barely five years. You never know what the future might hold though, and right about now, things are looking pretty good.Â
DAY 21: Travel time! Where in the world would your celebrity like to go if they were given the opportunity to take an all-expenses paid trip to anywhere in the entire world? The catch is⌠itâs a solo trip that theyâre taking alone.
There arenât a lot of places Drew hasnât been already but there are plenty that sheâd love to be able to have the time to enjoy and explore more - if she was going on her own though it would primarily be to indulge in a photography journey. Sheâd love to photograph the Northern Lights and Victoria Falls in southern Africa. Number one on her list though would be the Rainbow Mountains in China.Â
DAY 22: Whether theyâre into acting, music, a sport⌠what has been the project that your celebrity is the most proud of?
Drew has had a long career, so choosing just one project that she is particularly proud of is difficult - she has many that she is proud of, for a variety of reasons. She will forever be proud of The Wedding Singer - not because it was some sort of life-altering concept that changed peopleâs lives but because it touched people. All these years later and people still approach her to tell her how much they enjoyed it. For Drew, that is what she loves the most about acting and so this is the ultimate compliment. Sheâs proud of Charlieâs Angels - not only because she somehow managed to convince her friends to do it with her, but because at a time when female leads werenât nearly as common as they are today, they were able to not just make one but two movies with female leads. Sheâs also very proud of her performance in Grey Gardens and Miss You Already.
DAY 23: And on the opposite side of the spectrum, is there a project that your celebrity has worked on that they absolutely regret, for one reason or another?
Not exactly, she does wish they women in Bad Girls could have been...badder. She felt as though they given a very different script than they would have been if the leads had been male and it always disappointed her a little. Other than that though, Drew doesnât really like to look back with regret on anything sheâs done - everything, whether it turned out good or bad, has been an experience that she would trade.Â
DAY 24: How does your celebrity handle the holiday season? Are they the kind thatâs very excited and upbeat? Do they tend to get somber around the holidays? Are they religious at all, or more in it for the traditions they create on their own.
In general, Drew is fairly upbeat all the time and she tries extra hard during the holidays to keep things positive and light, mostly for the benefit of her children and other people. Beneath the surface though, there is a certain sadness that comes along with holidays as well. Most people have families, large or small, that they are close to and have established, meaningful traditions that excite them. Sadly, Drew doesnât have any of that - she is not close with most of her family, and while she was close with her exâs, things have changed since their split. Drew herself has accepted this is the way things are and doesnât spend too much time being sad for herself. She does wish however that her girls could experience it - they do get it from their dadâs side of the family, but Drew hopes that over time the three of them can establish their own traditions and customs that can give Frankie and Olive that same sense of family and belonging.Â
DAY 25: What is your celebrityâs Christmas (or other/no holiday, if they donât celebrate) routine like? Do they travel out of town, have family over? Wake up early, or take advantage of the holiday and sleep in? What do they do with the day? How has it changed since they were younger and at home?
Thatâs hard to say, Drewâs life in the last five years is vastly different from what it had been previously, so theyâre still working out exactly what their traditions will/should be. That said, she grew up with a distinct lack of many of the traditions other families had and it is something sheâs always wished she had. Her family was broken and disjointed and even when they did manage to get a group together, it often broke down before they could truly enjoy the holidays. Most years though, important people were missing - either working, incarcerated or swimming in addictions of one kind or another. As a result, establishing traditions with her girls is extremely important to her - more than anything, she wants them to look back on the special days and have stories to tell and share with their own children some day. Christmas Eve does always include the opening of one present - predictably pajamas and a book and then cuddling up to read together before setting out the previously baked (together) cookies for Santa. And then waking up at the crack of dawn to race downstairs and see what he delivered. She hopes more will come to be as the girls grow up.
DAY 26: When the holidays end, is your celebrity the type that wants to undecorate and move on immediately to get back to normal, or do they keep things up and keep the spirit going longer?
God no, Drew is definitely the kind to drag things out as long as humanly possible - she wants to savor the good things as much as possible and enjoying the holidays well into January is something sheâs not too ashamed to admit to. In fact, the only reason the tree ever comes down is because eventually have to chase the dogs away from trying to dig around in it and cleaning up dried pine needles from the floor becomes too much work. Otherwise, it might stay there until Easter!
DAY 27: Is your celebrity more of a city-dweller, or a farm person? Do you think that where they grew up had a big impact on that? And how do they do when theyâre living in the opposite situation?
Only a few short months ago Drew absolutely would have said she was a city-dweller - she loves the feeling that something is always happening, that people are always out and about experiencing the world and sharing it with others and likes to be at the heart of it. Once she had children though, things began to change - she grew up in the public eye and is accustomed to the flash of cameras and nosy questions but when they started photographing Frankie and Olive, and printing those photos, without any thought to getting permission from her or their father, suddenly the city started to feel like too much at best, unsafe at worst. Hence the decision to move to Bayview - and much to her surprise, she is absolutely loving rural living. She loves the solitude and quietness. The safety in knowing her children can play in the yard without having to worry about appearing on the front page of a tabloid. Of being able to provide them experiences like camping in the yard or owning their own horses. She thought she would struggle to adapt but it seems like it has been exactly what she needed, right on time. Perhaps once the girls have grown and moved from home she would consider returning to the city but for right now, she is happy to stay where she is.Â
DAY 28: Growing up, was there one person that your celebrity looked up to more than any other, whether it be family, friend, or just someone else in their life? How do they feel about that person today?
Drew didnât have a lot of positive role models growing up, that was part of her struggle. She was surrounded by people who were carrying their own burdens and had their own struggles, often not making the wisest of choices as they navigated their way through them. These days though, she finds inspiration nearly everywhere she goes - whether itâs the stranger that stop to hold the door open for someone or the mother who manages to balance her children with a career and social life. She has a strong sense of the power of women though and this is usually where, even as a child, she found her strength. In seeing what they could overcome when they put their minds to it and how they could do so while still being kind. Thatâs the ultimate inspiration as far as Drew is concerned.Â
DAY 29: Imagine if your celebrity had never come to Bayview⌠where would they be right this moment? Who would they be with, and what would they be doing?
Honestly, her life wouldnât have changed much - sheâd still be living between Hollywood and New York, continuing work on her show as well the production company and other business ventures. The difference would be more in what she wouldnât be doing - she wouldnât learning all she could about horses so she could make smart choices come the Spring. She wouldnât finally be growing her own flowers. And she definitely wouldnât be fake married. All in all, she thinks things have worked out better than she could have hoped and prefers not to look back, but only forward!
Drew definitely sees herself in the same house, or at least something similar - she loves having the space to have the greenhouse and knows the girls are looking forward to filling the stables with horses. Friends always come and go, thatâs the nature of living - some people come into your life and stay put while others move in and out of it and she okay with that. There are a few people that she hopes will still be a part of her life in five years (and ten and so on) and one in particular that sheâd love to see be an even bigger part of her everyday. The biggest change Drew would like to make though is arranging her life to be home a little more - between acting and producing and the various business ventures she has, she spends as much time away, if not more. Maybe moving some of them closer to Bayview, or beginning new ones all together. Drew is a pretty determined and relentless person though, so wherever she ends up, it will be where she is supposed to.Â

31 DAY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT WRITING CHALLENGE
Days 18 through 30
DAY 18: Pick three things that your celebrity owns or possesses that are important to them, and explain why they care about them so much. Please exclude animals or people!
Asking Brie to pick three is an almost impossible task - she is someone who loves with all of her heart, whether itâs a simple sticker collection or a special memento that sheâs hung on to. If she had to though, she would definitely name her house as one of the three - from the moment she saw it, she knew she wanted to own it. And not just because it had a fun design and nice features but because it feels like her. If there was a physical representation of her soul, sheâs pretty sure it would look much like this house. Her Oscar is probably one of those three as well, not because she has some narcissistic attachment to it but because for her it represents that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. Sheâd dreamed of winning such an award since she was a child and practiced her speech many times in the bathroom mirror but it wasnât too long before she was cast in Room that she very nearly walked away from acting - her self-esteem beat down so much that she very nearly gave up. So to be standing up on that stage just a few years later and being acknowledged in that way by her peers is something she will always treasure. Lastly is a letter her mother wrote to her years and years ago - it was written to encourage and uplift a young girl who was taking life too seriously and while her mother supported her dream, she was also concerned that a young Brie might be missing out on life. Brie took it to heart and has carried it in her wallet ever since as a constant reminder to always stop and smell the roses, even on - no, especially one - the worst of days.Â
DAY 19: Does your celebrity have a lot of friends, or do they tend to rely on a smaller group of friends?.
Both? Brie is very friendly and tends to talk and spend time with many people, but she does have those who are a little nearer and dearer to her. She can be very social and at a party or event, it isnât uncommon to find her with groups of people but if she was given the choice, she would almost always choose smaller, more intimate outings. She likes to get close to people and learn more about them and this is much easier in quieter, smaller environments.Â
DAY 20: Whatâs your celebrityâs relationship history like? A lot of hook-ups, many long-term relationships? Have they ever gotten very serious with someone before?
Brie has never been someone who âhooks-upâ - not that she never has, sheâs had a few brief encounters but for the most part, she tends towards longer term relationships. Sheâs been very career focused most of her life and while she has met many people throughout her life that have captured her interest, sheâs aware of the challenges that her life presents to any relationship so she tends not to commit unless she feels that person is someone she could see herself with for the long haul. Itâs a bit about protecting her own heart but also because she doesnât want to unintentionally hurt anyone she cares about. Prior to her current relationship, sheâs had three in her adult life, the last of which ended after a short-lived, ill-fated engagement.Â
DAY 21: Travel time! Where in the world would your celebrity like to go if they were given the opportunity to take an all-expenses paid trip to anywhere in the entire world? The catch is⌠itâs a solo trip that theyâre taking alone.
Brie has been fortunate and her work has taken her all over the world, where she has been able to see some amazing things, taste delicious food and meet fantastic people but none of them are the Unicorn Cafe in Bangkok. To be honest, sheâd probably prefer to do this with otherâs but if getting there means she has to do it on her own, then she would absolutely make that sacrifice - whatever it takes.Â
DAY 22: Whether theyâre into acting, music, a sport⌠what has been the project that your celebrity is the most proud of?
Brie has a lot of projects she is proud of, sheâs always been fairly selective about the roles she takes on but the two that come to mind instantly are Room and Unicorn Store. Room, not because of itâs critical success are the awards it put on her shelf, but because of the story it told and passion that went into making it. She is proud of her own performance, but watching some of the others, particularly her co-star Jacob, was inspiring and at times, breathtaking. Unicorn Store because, although itâs reception at TIFF wasnât quite what sheâd hoped for, it was her full length directorial debut and she put out a movie of which she is proud of and speaks to her. Lastly, local project A Place For Us is amongst the one Brie is most proud of - the brain child of her and her friend/brain sister Delta, it is one hundred percent, pure, unadulterated Brie and Delta and something she is still absolutely in love with.Â
DAY 23: And on the opposite side of the spectrum, is there a project that your celebrity has worked on that they absolutely regret, for one reason or another?
Brie tries not to regret much in her life, but looking back, Basmati Blues might have been a bad decision. Although the trailer was only recently released, the film was actually filmed back in 2013 and while that is not an excuse, she has learned and grown a lot during that time and if the script was presented to her today, she would likely have looked at it with a more critical eye then she did then.
DAY 24: How does your celebrity handle the holiday season? Are they the kind thatâs very excited and upbeat? Do they tend to get somber around the holidays? Are they religious at all, or more in it for the traditions they create on their own?
Brie is absolutely enthralled with Christmas and for her it is the happiest time of the year. She throws herself wholly into celebrating the season of giving and kindness - she decorates to the max, painstakingly selects gifts for the people in her life and spending as much time as she can with the people she loves. For her though, it is much more about about the spirit then the traditional religious sentiment of the day. Over the years sheâs had a number of traditions with her mother and sister, as well as with other important people in her life, although her move to Bayview has changed some of those and been replaced with new traditions with her extended family here in town. Mostly, as long as she able to be with the people she loves, then she considers it a success. That said, this past Christmas has her hopeful that perhaps a new, joint family, tradition may have begun.Â
DAY 25: What is your celebrityâs Christmas (or other/no holiday, if they donât celebrate) routine like? Do they travel out of town, have family over? Wake up early, or take advantage of the holiday and sleep in? What do they do with the day? How has it changed since they were younger and at home?
Neither Brie nor her sister have children yet, so for as long as she can remember, sheâs been the excitable one - up with the sun and waking up her sister and mother, anxiously waiting while they have their morning coffee before diving into the presents. In the past, they would sometimes indulge in a movie at the theatre, just the three of them but this past year they celebrated with Joeâs family as well and after a big dinner and an evening of board games, Brie could easily see this becoming the new tradition.Â
DAY 26: When the holidays end, is your celebrity the type that wants to undecorate and move on immediately to get back to normal, or do they keep things up and keep the spirit going longer?
Normally, Brie holds out as long as possible when it comes to taking down the decorations - she puts a lot of work into them and wants to get as much out of them as she can. This year however, she has a lot on her plate in January and things will remain hectic for most of the first part of the year, so she will begrudgingly take them down earlier than normal so that they donât wind up staying up all year.
DAY 27: Is your celebrity more of a city-dweller, or a farm person? Do you think that where they grew up had a big impact on that? And how do they do when theyâre living in the opposite situation?
Brie is definitely more of a city dweller, even coming to Bayview was a bit of a shock to her system. Sheâs grown to love the small town but country-living probably isnât something that is in her future - she loves the fast pace of a city but more than that, she fears the quiet of rural life would allow her too much time to think. Brie has struggled with anxiety for most of her life and only recently gained control - part of that was recognizing her tendency to overthink, which only grows worse when she has too much time on her hands. For her, there is a safety in knowing that when her brain starts journeying down paths sheâd rather avoid, a brisk walk to a nearby cafe or bookstore is enough to settle an overactive mind. That said, she is a huge animal lover and is quickly growing her own little farm, so maybe something in the middle would be ideal for her!Â
DAY 28: Growing up, was there one person that your celebrity looked up to more than any other, whether it be family, friend, or just someone else in their life? How do they feel about that person today?
Her mother, hands down. She has admired and been inspired by many women over the course of her life, but none will ever measure up to her mom in her eyes. Her father left when Brie was quite young, leaving behind a wife and two young children to fend for themselves. Brie never for a moment saw her mother feeling so for herself and instead the woman packed up her two girls, told them they were going on vacation to Los Angeles and never looked back. They survived on very little for many, many years and somehow still, her mother managed to fully support Brieâs dream - driving her to audtions, scrounging up the cash for lessons. Whatever it took. And when it all finally paid off and Brie was finally in a place to take care of her mother, she wouldnât hear of it, insisting it had never been about the payoff. She taught Brie how to be strong and independent, but also how to be kind and compassionate, never forgetting her good fortunates even when things really werenât that great. Still to this day, she is the ideal that Brie strives to become.Â
DAY 29: Imagine if your celebrity had never come to Bayview⌠where would they be right this moment? Who would they be with, and what would they be doing?
If sheâd never come to Bayview, itâs very likely that Brie would still be living in L.A., though work wise not a lot would be different except that she wouldnât have had the opportunity to create A Place For Us with Delta, which is perhaps one of the most significant and meaningful things sheâs been able to work on. As for who sheâd be with, she isnât too sure how to answer that question - on one hand, sheâd like to think that she would have found someone after her and her ex-fiance called it quits. On the other hand, at this point, she canât imagine that person being anyone other than Joe and if the two of them hadnât have ended up in Bayview, sheâs not sure they ever would have the chance to spend time together and discover that their friendship could grow into so much more.Â
Sheâs absolutely still in Bayview - sheâs only been here a year, but itâs safe to say that Brie is a permanent fixture around these parts for the foreseeable future. She definitely hopes her current relationship is still going strong and that might mean sheâs in a different house (although sheâd be sad to give up hers, but some people are worth melting for, right?). As for friends, she knows that some people are always going to come and go, but others will be around for the long haul and she can name a few that she would like to be a part of the latter group. Work wise, she hopes to be doing more directing and maybe writing in the not to distance future - not that she wants to leave acting behind all together but she would like to move into other areas as well. Life is unpredictable though and even though this is what she wishes for today, this could change drastically over the course of five years and all she really hopes for is that whatever comes her way, she is able to continue to be surrounded by people she loves and who love her, that she can keep doing what she loves and that she is happy. As long as she can manage that, sheâs pretty sure that the 2017 version of her would count the 2022 version as a success.Â
