Unleash Your Creativity: Discover The Stunning Sony A7C II In Sleek Silver And Bold Black
Sony A7C II, or the ILCE-7CM2, is an important addition to Sony's line of mirrorless cameras. It is a pocket-sized full-frame powerhouse with an innovative blend of portability and performance for amateurs and professionals alike.
We here at GadgetWard are eagerly waiting for Sony to release the A7C II. The physical footprint is built on the existing A7C formula, and although we never photograph a camera-based purely on its looks, this was still a lovely sight coming from those new optics.
Whether you are an urban photographer evading detection, a travel addict minimizing kit weight, or a content creator demanding high-quality video footage, the Sony A7C II should provide full-frame power in your pocket without losing image quality and usability. In the following pages, we'll assess in further detail each specification and feature that makes this camera stand out amongst its peers.

Ricoh GR III Thoughts After Almost a Month
PROS:
They took an already small camera in the GR/II and made it even smaller. Yeah, they had to get rid of the flash to do it but honestly I never really used the built in flash.
The in body image stabilization is great. I can shoot 1/10th of a second with pretty much no issue for static subjects. Static subjects are like 90% of what I shoot so it works out perfect for me.
The touch screen for selecting focus points is a lot better than using the d-pad on the older GR.
The new lens seems super sharp so far. Combined with the bump in resolution and you can get a ton of detail out of this camera.
High ISO seems noticeably better than the 16 megapixel sensor from the old GR. Kinda already knew this tho; seems like it’s the same base sensor that Sony uses in their APS-C cameras (and sold to other camera makers like Fuji and Nikon).
It has highlight weighted metering, which means it pairs perfectly with my A7C that also has that. All cameras should have highlight weighted metering but I feel like it’s especially important in crop sensor cameras.
It turns on and is ready to shoot super fast. The responsiveness in that regard is some of the best I’ve ever seen.
The camera app is pretty much perfect for how I use a camera app. It connects to the camera easier than any other camera app I’ve used (this, Fuji, Sony, and Panasonic so far) and it can actually transfer RAW files to my iPhone unlike any of those other apps. This is SUPER clutch since Lightroom on the phone can do just about everything the desktop version can do these days and the processor in the phone is on a similar architecture as my M1 Mac Mini.
While the battery life isn’t impressive, it’s fine if you turn the camera off after you shoot whatever it is you’re shooting. It can also be charged through USB-C and an external battery pack, so that’s a nice benefit compared to the weird proprietary connection of the older GR.
They fixed whatever issue the older GR had where it wouldn’t show a very detailed preview of your photo if you shot RAW, so you had to do RAW+JPEG. Now it just works like every other camera I’ve ever used.
CONS:
You still have to switch it in and out of macro mode. Not too big of a deal since the lens focuses pretty close in regular mode.
While the 24 megapixel APS-C sensor is great, that 26 megapixel one in the newer Fuji cameras is even better. It’s also a Sony-made sensor so I’m not sure why nobody else uses them. The resolution bump isn’t huge, but I swear the highlight recovery and high ISO are both better.
I know a fair amount of photography but there’s also a ton I don’t know. Like, I’m still kinda unsure on what exactly causes moire. I mean, I get what things I shoot will cause it (repetitive patterns with fine details such as fabrics or screen doors for instance), but I’m not super clear if it’s caused by the lens being too sharp or the sensor having too high (or low) resolution or…whatever. Either way, this camera seems to cause more moire than other cameras I’ve used. There’s a mode that shifts the sensor around a bit to mimic an anti-aliasing filter, but sometimes random shit causes moire and I’m not aware of it until I’m looking at the files on the computer.
Manual focusing remains pretty annoying. I still think they should have made the ring around the lens do anything at all besides just fall of if you look at it too hard. Going from the Sony RX100 series to this you kind of miss it.
Speaking of things I miss about the RX100, the little pop up viewfinder would be perfect on this camera.
I didn’t buy this camera when it first came out. Honestly, I can’t think of too much wrong with this thing. I love it like I loved the original GR, and knowing how much I loved that one I’m shocked I didn’t pre-order this thing when it was announced.
