Life pro tip: a cheap butterfly net with telescoping handle is excellent for relocating small friends, especially if they’re skittish and obsessed with the ceiling.

Song Review: Caroline Polachek feat. Weyes Blood - “Butterfly Net”

Caroline Polachek filled out the music on her new version of “Butterfly Net” with Weyes Blood.

Still ethereal, wispy and mostly electronic, the track as re-recorded for Desire I Want to Turn into You: Everasking Edition (Feb. 14) nevertheless has fewer moments of silence across its five-minute runtime as the singers join in echoey harmony:

There I was/with my butterfly net/trying to catch your light

Overly dramatic for Sound Bites’ taste, the track is more palatable with Blood’s presence, which Polachek described as “glorious” in a statement. That part is true.
