Your fics are some of the ones I remember most clearly from when I first started reading phanfic back in 2015/16. I was afraid to leave comments back then, but I absolutely loved every one I read, and still think about them sometimes. And it always makes me happy to see your icon on my dash!
that is so incredibly nice to hear. I love ur rbs and this is so late a reply idk why I never open my messages it’s a sickness. but it’s so truly heartening to hear this and I'm so glad anything I wrote made u happy for a moment in time <3
edit oh shit wait I meant to answer this privately how do I do that without deleting this!!! @butifyoujudgeafish

hmmm, have you read la belle sauvage/the secret commonwealth? I have MANY things to say about that, but don't want to spoil it if you haven't and plan to. or do you have any hdm thoughts to share? i'm in an hdm mood lol. an animal fact i learned from daemon research: moths have the best sense of hearing of any animal. also, your point about Phil potentially creating a whole new fandom for use to get involved in just blew my mind! I'm already so excited! ~phanomeheart
I haven’t! Do you I need to?? I’m guessing I do. I also need to re-read HDM, tbh; it’s been many years. So I’ll have to get back to you, lol.
That is an animal fact that I did not know! Moths, you have my respect.
And I’m perfectly happy for all of my dnp theories to be completely wrong, but I am at least confident that they’ll both give us something worth being excited about. :)

AHHH thank you!!!!!!
five most influential books?
anger is a gift by mark oshiro
the lost hero by rick riordan
avalon high by meg cabot
they both die at the end by adam silvera
just ella by margaret peterson haddix
would you have turned out the same in a different environment?
no, probably not! while i do think some parts of me would be the same in any universe, i definitely believe nurture has more of an impact than nature!
one of your favourite quotes?
i literally almost made my senior quote "I'm only 17 I love green beans" but my mom wouldn't let me djfjkfkf
but for a serious one, "What is alive and what isn’t and what should we do about it? Theories: about the nature of the thing. And of the soul. Because people die. The fear: that nothing survives. The greater fear: that something does." from richard siken's the language of the birds

Zodiac sign: Taurus

Last thing I googled: the phone number of the stem cell/cord blood storage place which has my kid’s blood, to see how many payments I have left (19, it turns out)
Song stuck in my head: well right now I’m listening to Postmodern Jukebox’s version of Never Gonna Give You Up, so that’ll be stuck in there good for at least a few hours.
Amount of sleep I get: HAHAHA. I try for 8, usually get 6.5-7 from being woken up by small humans I made.

I don’t know how to typify my home aesthetic, unless “like a bomb filled with kids crap” is an aesthetic. If I had money, it would be 1800s gentleman’s club but make everything navy blue/black.

A chance to talk about my plant babies???
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got carried away, but in the first picture are Fjord, my first ever large child who has been through a lot but is a champ and keeps pulling through, next to Claire the citronella I got as a single leaf cutting and keeps outgrowing her pots faster than I can keep up with. Then a haworthia and aloe I’ve had since college and have somehow survived like 10 moves across 1000s of miles, and a Mexican mint (Chris) who smells heavenly. More succulents and some ones I’m trying to root, some succenlents I stole from my greenhouse job and two jade pals (Gabby and Carla), a snake and pothos plants I grew from cuttings stolen from work and Vinny the little feathery bud who likes it much moister than it is here, and finally my new rubber tree, Brad, who is wonky cuz he was bought on sale but we still love him.
How are your new plants? Have they gotten names yet?
---
@butifyoujudgeafish these are AMAZING houseplants I love them all so much and they look so healthy and happy! I also find if v cool that you grew some from cuttings and I am going to attempt to do the same soon. You said it was from your job? If you're ans expert I'm going to hit you up for advice, you're clearly good at growing them lol at all these healthy wonderful plants!!
Here is a little update on my houseplants:
Noodle the spider plant is growing lots, he's a healthy happy boy. My eldest, so I expect the others to learn from his example
Cheddar my monstera obliqua is putting out two new leaves and I am keen to watch them unfurl, it's so cool how they grow
Plant Phil's new leaves are coming in great, he likes his spot in my bedroom and my cat Shadow (sweets) has finally stopped giving him the death glare
Plant Dan is actually thriving in his new spot in the bathroom where he has to move because he went through something traumatic and needed a time out (cat attack) It makes me sad not to see Plant dnp next to each other so often, but Sancis thriving in his new world, and he has a new leaf coming in above all the broken ones. (Yes, I'm aware of the parallels and the irony of my plant Dan situation and real Dan and I gotta say I'm not mad)
Beans my new Pilea haa 16 big leaves and 1 baby leaf coming in. I look at it every day to check his progress because I'm a sad plant mum.
And my two tiny baby Areca Palms are okay. Bangers is thick and green and healthy, whereas mash is a little beat up but I'm hoping with some light and water he'll perk right up. Stay tuned to my ig to find out...
I have two new rooted cuttings of peperomia glabella coming (maybe today or tomorrow) that need names. I name them all after food so maybe someone has an idea for me?
Ans I also have a Camellia and a potted Japanese Maple for my garden arriving in the next week. I have attempted to grow a Camellia on two separate occasions now, one I killed because squidge put it on top of a cabinet I could reach and had no light, and one was stolen when we moved house. I hope he's doing well. But I have good feelings about this one if it arrives in good shape. I am armed with a care plan and some camellia food.
Fun fact: I learned about camellias while writing a fic about Phil having loads of plants that I never posted but I've been in love with them ever since
Here are pictures of Beans, Plant Phil, Noodle and Cheddar. I dont have any of the others handy but there are highlights on my ig for each of them and the others if people want to see them.

Anyway this post was long and I'm sorry but I will ramble on about my plant babies always

Title: tomorrow brings new things Rating: PG Word Count: 961 words Summary: It's October 19 and Phil doesn't know what he's doing. Notes: Written for @butifyoujudgeafish, for my thirty minute fics for charity fundraiser to benefit PhandomGives.
[read on AO3]
Phil's been in this situation before.
He's been stood shoulder to shoulder with a boy he likes, a boy whose face he knows from the internet, whose laugh makes his skin tingle with promise when he hears it over a phone line from hours away.
But there's always been something else; some element to temper it, some sense that what he feels might be real but it might not be. It might be something that flourishes online but withers face to face, and he's grown to hate that feeling so much that he could hardly sleep the night before for dreading it.
It's the same feeling that's led him to almost cancel Dan's visit no less than three times - the knowledge that opportunity and risk go hand in hand and they've already passed a point of something more than friends - to the extent that if they met and felt no chemistry it would likely smother the friendship underneath it.
But there's none of that here, and that's what makes this situation different. He feels like he’s in freefall waiting for a snap of reality that hasn’t come yet. He’s beginning to think that it might not come at all.
That's what makes Dan different.
*
Phil's never felt this exhilarated by another person.
He has to keep looking over to make sure that Dan is real.
Of course Dan's real, though; he's real enough to have laughed at Phil when Phil spilled part of his coffee on the sofa and real enough to have helped him try and mop it up even while still laughing.
Dan is flesh and blood, slightly too loud and slightly too eager to seem confident and slightly too bold (in just the right way) with how he keeps staring at Phil's mouth and all of that feels... very, very real.
*
"We're going up there?" Dan says. His eyes are wide and he side steps around to get a better view of the massive, looming wheel.
"If you want," Phil says.
"Do you?" Dan reflects the question back on him.
Phil shrugs. "If you do."
There's a moment of stalemate and Dan rolls his eyes. "Well, then I guess we are."
*
They stand too close in the lift up to the skybar, even though there's no one else with them.
"You'll like it," Phil says. He's rambling. Babbling, even. He can't think straight right now, there are jumping beans in his head and his heart and his stomach. "It's a beautiful view."
"First the wheel, now this place..." Dan looks around. Even the lift is a bit fancy. Phil didn't plan this, he didn't plan for this to be a date, but the urge to show Dan nice things and impress him overrides. "You like pretty stuff, don't you?"
The words bubble up inside of Phil even as he knows how completely ridiculous it is. He ducks his head and bites down on the tip of his tongue before he says, "Guess so. I like you, after all."
"Fuck off." Dan punches him in the arm but he also grins ear to ear so Phil doesn't think it's all that bad.
*
"What are you thinking about?" Phil asks.
Dan jumps slightly, then looks sheepishly down.
They've almost finished their drinks. They'll go back home soon; back to Phil's big empty house. It's scary and exciting and Phil's not sure which of those feelings is winning.
It's just a friend he's having around, he tells himself. It's just a boy he met on the internet. Just a boy he gets on well with. Just - just a person that Phil looks at and feels more intensely for, more hopeful about, than maybe any other person he's met in his life.
He's very bad at talking himself down in moments like this.
Dan half-shrugs. "It's dumb."
“No it’s not,” Phil says. He doesn’t know what Dan was thinking - that’s why he asked, after all - but he is absolutely sure that it’s not dumb. He thinks every thought Dan has is fascinating, even while recognizing the silly kind of giddiness that leads him to believe so.
"This is just." Dan pauses, then finishes his drink in one smooth swallow before he looks at Phil. "This is just a really nice night. Things have been so weird and confusing and shit lately in my life, I forgot what having a good time felt like.'
Phil has the wild thought that he wants to give Dan every nice night that he can. The thought is much too much, much too soon.
"Ask me what I'm thinking about," Phil says.
"What are you thinking about?" Dan looks at him curiously.
Phil copies Dan, finishing his drink before he speaks. Maybe this bravery comes from the bottom of his glass, but if so he'll ride it out. "I want you to kiss me again."
Dan sucks in a breath. "Maybe it's your turn to kiss me."
"Okay," Phil says, and then he doesn't do anything, because they're sat in a swank bar surrounded by people. What he does do is reach across the table and take Dan's hand. "Let’s go back to mine, then."
“Oh my god,” Dan says under his breath. “Well, that’s a line.”
Phil’s face goes red. “Shut up. It is not.”
“It totally is,” Dan says. He pauses then adds, “But it worked.”
“Oh.” Phils face is definitely still red. His cheeks are hot. But now maybe for another reason, because he’s about to actually take Dan back to his house, where they’re going to stay, and they’re going to be alone-
And he has no idea what it means. He doesn’t know what’ll happen but the weird trapped-bird fluttering in his heart tells him that it’s going to mean something big.

I just noticed that one of my houseplants has all of it's leaves turned up so the backs are facing me??? and i didn't know it did this, I guess in the nighttime? I looked it up and it's called nyctinasty so plants have circadian rhythm too and 'sleep,' which is cute and sometimes they have like fav sleep positions. my plant is a prayer plant I guess because it looks like hands in prayer at night? Anyway plants are cool and I hope you're having a lovely evening! (do plant facts count?)
That’s so cool!! Plant facts definitely count. I don’t have a great track record at keeping them alive, so the only plants in my house are plastic (and thank god, I haven’t noticed any of them moving when I’m not looking).
Once again, nature is weird but amazing!

2, 21, 28, 50, 59?
2. You just walked into a bookstore. What section do you go to first?
fiction or memoirs or clearance !
21. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, without any consequences, what food would you choose?
potato, any preparation✌✌
28. If you could go back to college and choose a different degree to study, would you?
i wouldn’t have minded a history degree or an english literature degree as opposed to my plain english. i would’ve really enjoyed the classes for a women or gender studies degree but i’m afraid i’d be even more hard pressed to find a use for it than what i went with. if i had done a trade school, i probably would’ve gone into carpentry or welding.
50. If you could only listen to one musical artist for the rest of you life, who would you be listening to?
this question is cruel and i hate it very much 😩🔪 i guess in terms of variety and length of discography i’ll go with regina spektor but there was a not insignifigant part of my heart that wanted to say paramore or tegan and sara (i really be That Dyke huh alsdfkj)
59. If you were to make a YouTube video about what you know most about, what would the subject be?
it would be a gushy video  about how the author bess streeter aldrich really is the middle of a ven diagram between l.m. montgomery and laura ingalls wilder

1, 3, 4, and/or 23?
yay, thanks!
1: what song makes you feel better?
Picking a single song is so hard! Having one of my favorite playlists on always improves my mood by 500%. And singing in the car? Oh man. I read somewhere that singing improves your mood/helps you relax (something to do with how it makes you breathe?) and it’s TRUE. So a lot of times the songs that cheer me up are the ones that fit into my limited vocal range.
That was a long non-answer. Sorry. How about “Show Me the Way” by Penguin Prison. That’s a good one. (Even though I can’t sing it.)
3: what’s your favorite candle scent?
Any time someone asks me about scents the answer is ALWAYS pine. Every year, when the shops start stocking holiday merchandise, I’m there, sniffing around for the best pine-scented candles. I have a problem.
4: what flower would you like to be given?
Anything that smells good! I do not understand the point of a scentless bouquet.
23: favorite piece of clothing?
Answered already  :)
