🗣 – It did not occur to me that I myself may be a Hey Mama’s lesbian. I use that word religiously and daily. (also yes, please write, I AM BEGGING FOR MORE FANFICS) ANYWAY! Back to my scheduled yappening because I have a few more thoughts.

HF!Skwisgaar and HM!Toki both have their OF laughs. If you remember the “Knock Knock” scene where Nathan is sending Toki knock knock jokes on his phone, you can get a side by side listen to their individual laughs. Skwisgaar, my blonde beauty, has that deep, lower throat laugh. The “heugh heugh” kind of laugh. Whereas Toki has that very high pitch “Ha Ha!” laugh.

In this universe, they’re both a little self-conscious about their laugh because it doesn’t technically match their given aesthetics. Especially Skwisgaar. She’s the poster child of femineity but whenever she laughs, the image she’s constructed is cracked and the illusion is soiled. And Toki, she’s my stone cold butch, cringefail and all, and when she laughs, it’s like she’s laughing with helium and her aesthetic is broken as well. I feel like she wouldn’t care as much, or even at all, if it weren’t for other lesbians pointing it out to her and making her feel a certain way about it. But Skwisgaar has definitely gotten some side eyes for her laugh and even been excluded or made fun of for it (most likely in her youth). So, Skwisgaar has a fake laugh she uses for media, fans, talk show hosts, partners, the whole nine yards. But she doesn’t do it at home. The other girls have never made fun of her laugh before (simply because they don’t give a shit, I mean, really, who gives a fuck?) so she laughs normally. Toki is always confused about her laughter switching from public to private mainly because she loves Skwisgaar’s laugh. So, I feel like it’s Toki’s mission to make Skwisgaar genuinely laugh as much as possible out in public, because she loves her laugh and wants her to laugh normally and that there is nothing “wrong” with her for her laugh AND because she WILL BEAT SOMEONE UP FOR MAKING FUN OF SKWISGAAR! Skwisgaar hates this and has smacked Toki more times than she can count to make her quit, but she secretly likes having all of Toki’s attention on her like that, especially in front of the cameras. Toki is also pretty funny when she wants to be.
