characters meme: kennedy loser?

favorite thing about them: i love the entire ken! flinch rerolling into haunted was fantastic, i love his stunts with the funny dead guys and how that’s impacted expansion era crab lore. he’s one of the last standing og crabs and it makes me feel very normal.

least favorite thing about them: he’s so self-sacrificing. in-game he spent a season barely playing because he was so haunted, and he literally has the most sacrifice hits of any player, it’s wild. i’m glad he stepped back from being captain, the whole thing has huge burnout vibes and it was a long time in the making.

brOTP: whether platonic or romantic, shannon chamberlain permahaunt is so good, i’m still trying to figure that dynamic out or see what other ppl are thinking for it. vaguely rotating that thing you said a while back about ken, dimi, and shannon (with dimi and shannon being divorced) around in my head. also there’s just a whole lot of ghosts that i think have interesting dynamics with ken.

OTP: kenfinn, beloved. some of the earliest blaseball fics i read were kenfinn and i just love the whole narrative so much. to add a couple of my own thoughts to it, i sometimes think about how both of them have changed so much: ken is literally haunted and lets himself be dragged down by the past while finn is always moving forwards, trying not to think about just how much of their shared past she’s forgotten, and despite everything they’re still together, even after finn died and came back transformed, even after ken almost got lost in all the ghosts, even after an ascension and an alt and the end of the world. after all this time, they’re still here.

nOTP: i follow the butch lesbian ken irm so like. yeah that cuts out a large portion of the common ships. i still honestly like sad dad muppet ken so i don’t have any problems with that interp and the related pairings, and the kennedy loser husband wiki crime is incredibly funny. for whatever reason i really didn’t vibe with losercast, but jacoby hasn’t been on the team in a while so it’s not really something people seem to talk about any more.

random headcanon: i love how he and some of the other purple alt crabs became classic crab-shaped stat blocks. the take that it was extra carcinization from debbie to prepare them for the challenges of the end of the era is just so good, especially considering he was the only one from that batch of alts who was part of the reckoning and the killing of the olde one, even if it was as a medic. idk, his complicated feelings about debbie and his alternation/extra carcinization, and how that relates to all the losses he experienced with his teammates, just make me feel a certain way.

unpopular opinion: idk if i have any off the top of my head, unless you count the lesbian ken as unpopular instead of uncommon? favorite picture of them: sometimes i just think about this image. also gob’s ken with the crab mouth is just so cute
