I think I may have made this post already, but oh well. 2022 was so full of albums that really made an impact on me. I was listening to another one, without seeing the release date and I was like 'I betcha' and yep, it was released 2022.

#afterdarktext #just checked and I made a top 20 that year rather than 10 or 5 #damn 2022 just gets better and better in hindsight #and actually #all those artists were probably locked down #when making those records too #in the previous two years #interesting...#I never forget the horrors of course #and the human suffering at that time #but... that is curious for sure #definitely an argument to be made #for everyday 'normal' life getting in the way of art #but you could also counter that with many factors though #interesting though

I am curious, bc I just ran across one of those, 'everyone remembers where they were when 9/11 happened!' things so-

This isn't meant to be a commentary on the event, just whether or not you remember where you were/what you were doing when the news hit.

As an example, I was home sick, doing dishes, when mom yelled for me to get in the living room RIGHT NOW.

This whole scene is so mind-blowing that I missed the obvious shape of Laios' speech bubbles here. At first I thought it was a cheerful roundness laughing at the absurdity of what he's saying, but looking closer; it's wobbly. It's fake cheeriness, passive aggressive even. He just heard he was lied to for reasons he doesn't understand, and now this man is trying to sell an even more outrageous, sweeter lie?? Laios is SO hurt, and while he wasn't understanding what Kabru was saying, he was trying to be patient. Now he's not even trying to hide it.

So it's on Kabru to double down and convince he means it, which he does by /punching/ him and screaming "actually I DO want to be your friend, dumbass!!! I've been looking from afar and think you're interesting, you idiot!!! There’s things I find weird about you but that just made me invested enough to even eat harpy eggs!!!!!" and I just have to cry.
