B A C K G R O U N D

Your life was a colorful one. At school, you were the perfect theater kid that was friends with everyone. Your grades were average, but you made up for it in your talent. Since elementary school, you dedicated most of your time towards acting. You thought about getting a part-time job, but it took time away from practicing your lines. Any time there was a play, you always got the role you wanted. While you had the skills to play the protagonists, you often chose to play the comedic relief. For you, the humor came naturally. Your presence on stage made the entire room light up with laughter and joy.  Needless to say, your life was as perfect as you wanted it to be.

On the day of the apocalypse, you were getting ready to perform the final show of the school year: a musical. You were getting ready in the dressing room, dusting a dash of highlight on your cheeks. Next to your mirror, the clock read 7:25 PM. Only five minutes until the show began. Your stomach was filled with excitement and nervousness. When you arrived at the left-wing (which was covered by the curtains), the entire cast had arrived except for the lead actor. He was never late to a show. Besides, you had seen him in the dressing room a few minutes ago. Where could he have gone?

The director asked the same question. She began to panic as no one had an answer for her. You went to look for him as you weren’t in the play during the beginning. First, you searched the bathrooms. Then you peeked in the dressing room. After that, you ran around the school but there was no sign of him. The last place you could think of was the area outside of the theater entrance.

When you arrived outside, there was a body lying on the ground. You walked closer. It was the body of the main actor. You didn’t want to touch it, but you couldn’t leave him there. He could be alive. So you stopped right in front of it and crouched down. His skin was grey and his hair had fallen out. He was unrecognizable. 

He opened his eyes. They were yellow with no pupils. A scream escaped your lips as you crawled back. The boy grabbed your leg and you kicked him off. You got up and saw a bunch of monsters behind him. They looked like zombies from the movies.

Instead of staying around, you did what your gut commanded. You ran.

Harry

After you were taken under the wing of Lawrence and his crew, life was rocky. No one full trusted you (besides Judy) or saw any useful skill within you. Although you were a great actor and terrific artist, there wasn’t any reason to use them. To prevent being made fun of, you grew more introverted and stayed out of everyone’s way. They couldn’t bother you for not being a nuisance.

Actually, they could.

During another meeting, everyone was discussing the plans for the upcoming week. This included night watches, food supply, and possible trips outside of the school. You hadn’t said much because you didn’t want to be involved (or mainly, get yelled at). Besides, you learned more about the way things worked around here, which would make you more useful to the team. 

“I don’t understand why we have to keep her around! Not only is she probably infected, but she also doesn’t have any talents. She’s a waste of space,” Scarlett said.

You roll your eyes. Here we go for the millionth time. To think that the meeting had almost ended without her incessant yelling. But such a dream was too good to be true. 

“Scarlett. Please don’t yell at her. Suspicion will only tear our group apart,” Harry spoke.

“No, she’ll tear us apart! I don’t see why you don’t understand that!” Scarlett jabbed a finger at you and ran out of the classroom. That was one way to end the meeting.

Harry approached you, placing a hand on your shoulder. “I’m really sorry about that, Scarlett can be a bit overwhelming. Please don’t hold it against her.”

You give a small smile. “As long as she doesn’t turn me into a zombie, I think I can handle her.”

“I’d hope not,” Harry said.

You cocked your head with wide eyes. “Wait, maybe I am the zombie. I’ll eat your brrrraiiiiinssss.”

Harry laughed. “Just don’t do that around Scarlett and I think you’ll be fine.”

R O M A N C E

Lawrence

It was time another nightwatch and this time Lawrence had chosen to go with you. You had gone with him once before, but the two of you were attacked by a mob of zombies. The only reason you guys made it out was that Lawrence had stalled for enough time to get help from the rest of the crew. Needless to say, you were traumatized.

This time, Lawrence had brought extra weapons. He handed a baseball to you and briefly showed you the weak points of the undead in the case another zombie attacked the two of you. After a few practice swings, you felt somewhat ready to go out in the dark.

During the start of the nightwatch, there was a large amount of silence to prevent getting unwanted attention from the zombies. The two of you scouted the back of the school and found that most of the zombies weren’t there. While zombie had crept up on you, you managed to smash its skull with your baseball bat. Lawrence was highly impressed.

“That was really good. Zion might have some competition,” He said

“Thanks,” You responded.

After completing the nightwatch, the two of you returned to the main classroom where the meetings were held. Surprisingly, the room was empty when you guys arrived. The only thing that kept you company was a silver shimmer from the moonlight. You plopped on the closest chair. Frankly, you were exhausted from all the walking and wanted a good night sleep. However, Lawrence insisted on waiting for the other members to return.

“How are you finding it here?” Lawrence asked.

“It’s nice. Besides the issue of other members verbally attacking me, I like the teamwork we have here. We get a lot more done when we are united,” You responded.

Lawrence nodded with a smile. “That’s what I’ve always said. I know not everyone is fond of the idea, but I’m glad you see the logic behind it.”

You tapped your fingers against the wooden desk. “But I can’t help but wonder, how much closer is our teamwork to bringing us out of here? It’s not possible to stay here forever.”

Lawrence shook his head. “I understand, but the circumstances don’t seem safe enough to leave. However, there has been a notable decrease in zombies, so we might be leaving soon.”

“I know, I just don’t want things to end here. I want to be able to flesh out my future by making a name for myself in acting and finally stepping out of my sister’s shadow,” You sighed.

Lawrence grabbed a chair and sat next to you. He placed his hand on his jaw and looked in your eyes. 

“Don’t worry, we’ll get out. That’s a promise.”

F I N A L   F A T E

A/N: Ok, so I changed it ever-so-slightly so that Lawrence was not a yandere or evil psychopath because I know getting an ending with psychopath Lawrence is not fun or worthwhile.

The entire crew had grown sick of the school. Everyone had been cooped up in the same five rooms for way too long and it was time to go elsewhere. However, Lawrence was still unsure of leaving the school due to the possible risks that came with the expenditure. After growing extremely close to him, you assured Lawrence that it was the right course of action. 

It was not long until the poster of the safe zone appeared on the sides of the school. Eugene was the first one to find them and nearly toppled over in glee when handing it over to the crew. Everyone was so excited, except for Lawrence.

You walked to the classroom, looking for Eugene. Instead, you saw a tensed Lawrence pacing around the room. It was unusual for him to look so worried.

“What’s wrong Lawrence? You looked stressed,” You asked.

Lawrence looked up in surprise. “Oh, hello. I’ve just been thinking about some things.”

“What things? You can talk to me. Don’t bottle everything inside of you,” You took his hand.

He sighed. “It’s just that I enjoy the dynamic we’ve created here. I’m in charge while Zion and Eugene are the brawns. Harry is our peace-keeper while Eugene is well........... Eugene. Then we have you, who-”

Lawrence stops and leans towards your face. “Who stopped me from falling down a dark path and you don’t even know it.”

You placed your hand on his cheek. “I’m not sure what that means, but I do know that you won’t lose anyone after going to the safe zone. If you stay here, there is no guarantee that we’ll all make it out alive.” 

Lawrence took a moment to think and sighed. “You’re right. Gather everyone and tell them that we will be leaving tomorrow at dawn. The zombies are least active then.”

You nodded with a smile.

The trip to the safe zone was much more difficult than expected. Although there were fewer zombies on school grounds, there were much more on the streets. Unfortunately, the crew had lost Scarlett and Jay to the flesh-eating monsters. But the rest of you had made it there without a scratch.

Upon arrival in the safety zone, you first searched for your family. Luckily, they all had made it there without any problem due to the help of other friendly strangers. You introduced Lawrence and the crew to your family and spent the rest of your time bringing joy to the children of the safety zone through acting.

How to Keep Your Dog From Running Away Plus How to Build a Very Cosy (Free) Pet Bed

That the big four commands save lives According to the National Health Service and media reports, over 4, 500 episodes a year in the U. K. involve dogs and people, with children being the biggest victim group.. You are more likely to end up bitten by a dog than win the lottery! One incident is an unwelcome statistic but until you accept that the pet dog runs away because you let it these incidents are going to continue to occur. There are 5 basic steps, several big commands and 3 essential pieces of equipment which you need to learn how to use effectively to gain control and to build concentration into your dog. This guide explains how to do this and how to stop your dog running away. A collar along with lead are working instruments of control, just the same as holding your child's hand. Mobile phones are another safety device people use with our children to maintain contact and for a much safer and secure environment. Our dogs are believe it or not important and are at a higher statistical risk than our children. Your voice alone is not going to be enough. Whistling is labor and it assumes your dog finds the whistle more compelling than what is at the end of its nose. You must commence to appreciate that stopping your pet running away is a skill to be learned and developed on an on going basis, and even like people, the input of patience and unconditional love, will very likely be paid back. The probability is actually that if your children are model children then your dog probably will be too, but that doesn't mean it is going to be easy to teach, it just means you probably have the mindset and determination to keep your dog safe and disciplined. I admit this informative article may be a bit controversial but the techniques work and will not harm or hurt your dog. Neglect and ignorance can be a much bigger killer. If you want to stop your dog running away there are 3 things your must achieve: Instant effect Your dog's whole and undivided attention Complete obedience You need to understand that there are 3 reasons why your dog will run away: -- Sex Cruelty Owner mismanagement All three of the reasons as stated above can get your dog killed or really injured. If you then overlay lack of success with the 3 disciplinary aspects you have serious issues to deal with and you ought to correct this quickly or risk your dog causing death or serious injury. The end result will be the loss of your pet just by lethal injection, gunshot or fatal injuries. If minors are involved and they are your own family it will destroy not only your daily routine but that of your entire family. This is how I see it anyway and it is this that motivates me to get the application right. Your pet running off is not to be taken lightly. I propose to examine a few simple helpful hints that might get your life more bearable and improve your relationship with the animal at a level you can both appreciate and use to good effect. I am going to ignore the first two reasons that cause running away. If you need guidance to deal with these please give your dog to a loving home, this article is not for you. Your dog is born with senses which once active are so compelling that you pale into insignificance the minute they are engaged. You don't need to be a dog whisperer to understand the following, but you can see it for yourself the minute you call your dog back. It is not a great moment when your dog embarrasses people for your inability to handle it. I think one year in a dog's life is about 6. 5 of our years, so by way of the end of year one your dog should be starting to make out sounds, short sentence structures and words. The several most important commands in order are: sit heal down stay Dogs are quick learners. Not only do they fully understand your mood, they take everything right to the edge all the time and they are also very persistent. The sooner you start out teaching them the better, try to make it fun without finishing up with a fat dog. Remember your children should not be force federal a big McDonalds every time they get their table manners right and The National Hedgehog Road Skills award has never ended up won by a hedgehog. A lead is the equivalent of your child's hand. You communicate through it just the same process. You would not let your child pull you off your feet, especially on a main road, so use the same control with your dog. Step 1. It is always your fault I really don't think that Springer Spaniels with their long floppy ears may well hear you properly over 30 metres away unless you really shout which makes you look in control doesn't this. When I was younger I had a liver and white springer 'Bramble'. He never knew to this day what attack him when he was busy rounding up sheep. I would have been able to play for the British Lions which includes a rugby tackle like that, the dog went flying, not in the least bit hurt, just caught in the act. He yelped just with fright, but never chased sheep again and after this incident if he could hear me your dog responded instantly to all the big 4 commands. Step 2. How to stop your dog pulling you off your feet. Some sort of sharp and very hard tug on the lead pulling your dog back behind you will do the trick. After the second or lastly time they will desist. This is obviously easier to do when your St. Bernard is a puppy, which is why i say beginning straight away. Bad habits are developed by the owners not the dogs. Never allow your dog to pull. Begin by holding your dog's hand (the lead) and work firmly in a disciplined and in a fair way, not to mention reward good performance and discipline and work on behaviour that falls short. Little and often is good and then a routine is helpful. The thing that really gets results is patience. You would not take your child out into a distracting natural environment to teach them so don't do it to your dog either. Get the dog's attention and eye contact and advancement will improve. If you are having trouble getting the dog's attention increase the treat value e. g. fillet steak. This is approximately hearts and minds and developing absolute trust. The time to use treats is at the outset of teaching this command. Once the dog understands what is required of it, a pat on the head and some encouraging words is sufficient. Step. How to slow your dog down to your speed How many of you would not hold on to your 6 year old children's hand in the city centre? Would you expect your six year old to speak fluent Russian? No, so tend not to expect your dog to understand what sounds the same to them. Use the lead to build confidence and lots of patience. By the time your canine is six months old they will be getting more biddable, more curious and more determined but up to the first year you may never be certain. However you are desperate to give your dog the freedom of that run about. A game keeper taught people a very good tactic called hobbling. Your dog's collar should always allow you to get three fingers under it, if you can't it's too tight. Simply stick your dog's front paw through the collar, it looks cruel, its not and catch a dog on three legs, it puts the odds in your favour, so you now have the opportunity to train your dog to remain close to you, or get it back safely. Don't use a retractable lead it encourages your dog to pull. Dogs with retractable leads are not properly trained (such a statement could be highly controversial but I would presume that people owners won't be reading this type of article so there won't be anyone to offend! ) Step 4. Timing - how long should it take to train my dog? I think 300 hours gets a basic job done before your dog will specialise right into say rescue, field sports, or social human tasks like police or military work. It takes a good season to settle and train a dog. If you get the big 4 commands in quickly and early the dog will start to succeed but it will take at least a year so be patient and persist. Practice all the time - practice makes perfect. ( this also helps you lose weight! ). I now have a black and white Springer Spaniel and she was terrible for running off of. This was my fault. On dark evenings I only needed to get distracted for a second and the dog has been gone. There I am in the dark and pouring rain, shouting my head off and the dog is in the next state. Twenty anxious minutes later I get a ball of mud back! Never be cross with a returning puppy, it is after the fact and they may misinterpret you, causing trauma and confusion. Simply make a note to do it yourself to set up a training session in a controlled environment to fix the problem whilst kicking your own bottom and not the dogs! Measure 5. How to stop your dog running away You spend hours and hours working with them, you teach the big 4 requires and when they are over six months old and really understand the commands then you have to bring discipline to tolerate or face the possibility of an unthinkable incident. I have tried whistles, chasing after her and just leaving her, non-e which are satisfactory and just exposes the dog to danger. If I can't control the dog at both short and longer range she is useless in the field other than as a pet. So how do I stop my pet from running gone. A game keeper suggested an electric collar. I dismissed it out of hand as being cruel, but it is not as cruel since watching your dog in agony pinned down under a car wheel. I decided to try an electric collar but resolved to remain kind and fair. It has transformed the dog without any cruelty at all and this is how it works: First in support of after 6 months minimally, and only when the big 4 commands are in place can you use one. My collar has an hearable alarm which the dog can hear even when she can't hear or see me. She quickly learned to help you respond to this bleep, it means only one thing 'Heal'. Since wild life has hearing and great vision way too, we get to see lots of it when we are out now because we are quiet, the dog is under control constantly and above all is safe. Your dog and especially Springer Spaniels will want to do as you ask. You must be truth be told there at the time of any incident which demands attention or arresting and a bleeper really is on the spot and instant. If the pet dog doesn't respond there are 8 settings to 'tweak your dog's ear', building up to a shock. All of these are considerably gentler than rough handling or hitting the dog. All of them hurt a lot less than impact with an HGV. I must stress that when you don't have the big four commands in place and a confident dog you should not deploy such a device, just keep your animal on a lead. The collar is only for the dog's protection and control and the charge, which is about the same as a static shock from a door handle, does not cause the dog much discomfort, but it lets her know I want her particular attention when all else fails which is pretty rare these days. I don't know how the shepherds do it but they have my respect. I don't need my little dog to achieve those levels. We have lots of fun together and she really loves my two girls, mind you she adores everyone including the postman! I think that patience is the secret and then it's a really matter of time.. She also has a special settee in our garden room (but never assumes this right in the house), and a dog house made out of straw bales which she loves as it is very warm. She also knows the location where the edge is, and pushes it like crazy, but she is safe and well behaved and under control at all times since she can hear me and every day that goes by her knowledge of language and disciplined procedure improves. I do believe I will always use an electric collar now, it is a safety device which makes me much less apprehensive about the dog's routines because I can focus on expanding the dog's comprehension of commands, so her behaviour continues to improve and your lady plays an even bigger and much more enjoyable part in day to day activities. If you don't want your pet to run off get to grips along with the collar, lead, teaching, rewarding and discipline and be heard - the best way to do that quietly is with a bleeping receiver collar - really it works. I think these new devices are the dog equivalent of a 2 way radio. Virtually no soldier goes into combat without one. I think they are here to stay and used responsibly will transform your life and also make teaching your dog a real joy and with much less stress. Remember it is your finger on the button and you figure out whether you are a dog trainer or a dog breaker - I know which I am. How long does it take to teach your pup the big 4 Commands? It takes about 20 minutes armed with some really 'must have' treats, and repeat the training a day or so later for a few minutes until you see it work immediately. I use mackerel fillets but everything other than chocolate will do the trick. For every minute of training you need an hour of practice to get the command working constantly and then three or four times longer to get them all working together. You will pay for gaps in your routine and you will be able to see when others have handled your dog. Dogs will always push to the limit to see what they can get away using so you have to be that limit and you can't always do that by being nice and feeding the dog treats. Never destroy your dog by cruelty and bullying to get the obedience you want, a broken dog does not work properly and anyone who has skilled a dog will spot a broken dog a mile off, you can't hide it and you can't repair your damage. A command should be instant, it is useless if it is not and may get you, your children, the dog or some negative unsuspecting motorist into an unthinkable situation, it is worth the effort. Should you let the dog on the sofa - Exercise Versus Behaviour? Oh boy is this a hot potato! Firstly your dog knows the difference between the scruffy couch in the playroom and the one in the living room but you may have to work more on the training. You can let the dog do anything you like provided you put the effort in with the ground rules, but here is a simple guide. Your pet dog has two basic barks, one to warn and the other is more playful. Learn what they are and precisely what they mean. If you don't want a yappy dog you will get the opportunity at about 10 months to sort the item out. Don't allow your dog to behave in a way that would be offensive to others, I am sure you don't need a list from me. Feel free to use a smack, a firm push or voice commands so long as it is immediate. If your dog is beyond reach you have got to either be very quick (voice and run) or use an electric collar. A sharp shock beats a struggle or injury. If this is administered at the start of the action the dog is unlikely to repeat the offence. You do not break the dog doing this. Prolonged aggression or fierce punishment fills your dog with terror. I have heard them beginning yelp before a blow is struck because they know what is coming. Could you do your job knowing someone is related to to give you a good kicking? Neither can the dog. I have never seen a broken dog that didn't bring some sort of lump to my throat and have me biting my lip to hold back the tears. Like the dog I undergo quietly in silence unable to speak. Being a good dog owner and handler Bad behaviour develops as a result of lack of effort or even selfishness by the owner. Like your children the more patience and time you spend with them and effort you put into your family dog, the more reward you can expect with a strong measure of devotion paid back. Like children they will pick up trauma between adults and don't like it. Neglect will result in the dog making up its own rules and then you will need a dog psychologist to intervene. Unless pet is ill and requiring 24 hour supervision, I would advocate they should have their own special place. A run is usually the best so they can have peace and quite to relax and dry/chill out and be themselves. You probably would not normally have your children in bed with you, so I think it is a bit odd to have your pets there too. Lack of common sense is normally what develops poor animal behaviour. Plenty of exercise, good diet, discipline, routine, care and attention will work for your dog. Summing up, the three essential pieces of equipment required are a lead, a collar and an audible device that can be heard just about anywhere instantly by your dog which upon being heard recalls your dog to your side.. If a measure of force is required in that case this device should have the ability to administer it or be backed up by it. How to Make a cosy dog bed for free - well almost I think a great bed makes a very happy dog, especially if they have a full tummy As an engineer, specialising in materials handling and storage, when it comes to a bed for the dog I wanted to create a cosy place for her so that you can sleep. For several months I persevered with pet cushions etc but they just get filthy and are not very straightforward to clean or warm to sleep on outdoors. In winter this year we had two feet of snow, the fact that dog loved but it was cold for her and I wanted something better. Pallets are often equipment you can pick up 100 % free. Two or three of them are very simple to convert into a bed. 1000mm x 1200mm is a perfect size. If you have an outhouse, garage or shed they will fit easily inside. It doesn't matter if the dog chews them, the wood can be recycled or simply used for fire wood and if you use straw, the straw can be composted or burned. Now this solution is not really for everyone but the dog will love it and you may grow to love it and here is why: The straw helps thoroughly clean the dog The dog can scrape and arrange the straw as it wants it The pallet and a few straw bales make a very cosy den Filled with straw your dog can live comfortably outside in all weathers Living outside is most effective for the dog Dogs will grow their natural seasonal coats in line with the climate. Inside they go into a state with permanent moulting, outside unheated they can live more naturally. The straw is cosy and warm the year circular especially with the added protection of 380mm to 450mm of insulation on 6 sides The pallet will keep your dog off the cold floor - essential. Straw bales range from £1. 75 to £3. 50 Before you go straight into blind panic about scabies or mange, I have never had any trouble. However if you are worried ask ones vet, I think you will find that the modern treatments keep them at bay anyway. Do watch out for nails and cardboard (stapled on). Plywood makes good tops if the wood is spaced or a bit rough and then the deep hay does the rest. My dog really loves her straw bed and is quite happy to get into it and As i rarely see her little black nose come round the edge of the bale until I call for her. There does exist an awful lot of non-sense talked about training and not much help with the real control commands when they don't work. Much of the time it happens to be just not possible to intercept mistakes and behavioural dysfunction in time to correct it in a way the dog can quickly grasp the necessity. This just makes it tougher on both you and the dog I am a materials handling engineer by occupation, and a keen motorcyclist which I use for work most of the year round. How I love to stroll in the woods during nights like this~ the sun is setting, the moon is rising and for some reason I’m really hungry; good thing I got myself some perfectly healthy trail mix...let’s see: marshmallow, potato chip, cheddar cracker, pizza roll, sugary cereal, loads and loads of chocolate, ect. so much to choose from, my freaking God! X’DDD But suddenly, I spotted Harvey and lil’ Buhdeuce (SwaySway’s baby bro) getting chased by none other than those Greaser Dogs~ better save those boy’s lives; I jumped into action and punched the top dog, Cliff, square in the face.

“Don’t you know it’s impolite for a little lady like you to fight dirty?” He laughed, with Shriek giving him a dark look in response.

“At least I’m not a clown dressed in leather desperately trying to relive my glory days, I thought you dinosaurs where dead.” I replied in a deadpan tone.

“Gee, I don’t look like a dinosaur...” said a confused-as-usual Lube, itching his head. 

“In that case, these dinosaurs are gonna stomp you in the mud!” said Shriek, shaking her fist at me.

“Good idea, cookie, let’s get her!”

Cliff roared as the three where about to lynch me until I activated my powers and flamed both of them IRL and literally, making the three geezers (I think) screaming and running into the lake to cool off. 

“Thanks, Lolly!” Harvey and Buhdeuce cheered as they hugged my legs since they’re pretty short.

“It was nothing, really, I do enjoy kicking me some butt.” I chuckled, petting their heads; “Stay outta danger, ‘k?”

They saluted: “Yes, m’am!” and left to go do their own business.

After that little scrap, I took a break from walking and lied down on the soft, green grass to stair up above at the sky and listened to the sound of a happy mother bird and her hatching chicks; speaking of which, I started to wonder about a missing detail in my life: “How was I born?” maybe I can look for some answers.....

Plucky’s POV

Another glorious day of trolling some poor, pitiful Nicktoon Authority and their lackey dogs, too; this time we hid woopie cushions with missile buttons under their seats in the meeting council~ looks like it’s gonna be weeks and weeks of repairing the dome for those saps so why not celebrate with a BBQ and a pageant?

The “pageant” was sweet-little Bubbles singing a ballad of how my aunt Melissa defeated the cruel ruler of the Nicktoon’s old country and started our grand organization...and would you believe, after all these years, they've still been trying to make us disband and have the last of the Looney Tunes come crawling back to ‘em? those dinks! too bad for them, because no matter what kind of blackmail and butchery they threaten us with, we’ll always bite back! aye, if only ol’ Jack (the III?) was gonna see this but I think he transferred to our sister rebellion group, which is cool since there’s a robot and a crazy scientist in that group.

“It’s showtime, big guy!” Amethyst, my trusty second-in-command, called out while holding a huge hot dog right off from the grill.

“I’ll be there in a second, bonnie-love!” I called out, grinning like a chump while putting on my best robes and hat in which made me feel like a pirate.

But a tragedy struck upon dear Bubbles 5 minutes into her performance: an arrow from nowhere was flung her to the back of her head with an orange flag with a white “N” waving in the air; “Did they kill her!?” we all shrieked in agony as we saw what might have been her final moment; a weeping Blossom replied “W-we’ll see what’s up...” as she and a frightened Buttercup crept up to her, but luckly, Bubbles was safe, sound and just got spooked because a plunger got stuck in her hair~ said-plunger got pulled off by Buttercup rather roughly as if a lock of Bubbles’ hair was ripped out of her, making her yelp; she turned around the flag and saw a note: “🎵”

“Yeah but turn it over, there’s a letter!” Blossom replied.

“You’re right~ and there’s a message from the Nicktoon Authority!”

Reading it out loud, it turned out that, in order to afford the pay for damages to the dome, they’ll steal our most prized possession, the Golden Anvil, so they could trade it for loads of cold hard cash and as you could see, none of us where pleased about losing our prized possession to those slime-drinkin’ chumps....unless....“Gather around, I got something to tell you all in private.” and with that, everyone huddled over as I whispered them my latest grand plan.

Lalasa’s POV

I came across the library, being taken care of by none other than an older resident hailing all the way from the mother country, Tommy Pickles; he ruled over the Nickelodeon area of In-Between and was with the other older Nicktoons since Day 1, maybe he had answers.

“Hey Lolly, how are you and the girls been doing lately?” he said with a warm, brotherly smile.

“Barb and Tricia have been doing good, as for me, I’ve been puzzled about something for a while....”

“And that is?”

“....Who brought me into this world?”

At first, he looked a bit shocked, his face seemed a bit more solemn and serious than usual, but he also at least trying to smile; “Oh, Lalasa....” he walked up to me, patting me on the back, following with: “You see, it’s.....complicated and.....and.....let me tell you a little story, get cozy just in case, because it’s pretty long.” We sat down together on a nice bench by some books, propped ourselves up and so he began to tell me the tale of my origins.....

Tommy’s POV/Story (Although the one he tells Lalasa is much less overly-detailed)

It all started when me, Helga Pataki (or as I liked to call her, Brawn Helga) and two really hyper orphans, Fabian and ChiChi where running one of the ships that carried out Beo’s and young Beochan who where waiting to be knighted as official Nicktoons and to be honest, I was enjoying it the most: the salty sea-air, the wind in my face, the gentle blue waves crashing against the bottom of the ship and the seagulls pecking at Helga’s head made my day, why I felt like I was king of the world.

“Hey, Pickles! the two monkey boys are at it again, get after them you lazy bones!” Angel-I mean, Helga bellowed at me in all her grouchy glory.

“What did the scamps do this time?” I said, hoping to God they didn’t get into my baby photos again.

“They’re annoying with one of the passengers, now get out there and find the masked brats before I do and handle them by myself with a belt, kapeesh?”

“G-got it, Captain!”

I scurried for the whereabouts of the two troublesome boys and finally found them jumping around in one of the Beochan’s chamber and messing around with his things.

“Please give that back to me, it’s private!” Said the taller, older-looking boy, trying to retrieve a box from ChiChi in grabby hands mode as Fabian was running wild just like Sheen back in the day.

“Alright, kids, time to leave the guy alone now come with me.” I said in a calm tone, picking the boys up by the backs of their shirts.

“Yes, Tommy-sama.”

“That’s my boys, now stay outta trouble, otherwise Helga’s gonna put all three of us in the soup.”

“Okay.” the two glumly replied as ChiChi gave the box to me just before both of them scampered off, leaving me and the preteen boy alone in the room.

“I believe this belongs to you, kid?”

“Gee, t-thank you...”

“You’re one of the new kids sailing to In-Between or maybe the Mother Land?” I asked the shy, sensitive-looking boy.

“Y-yes, I don’t know where the ceremony will be taking place this year though...”

“Me neither, join the club~ anywho, the name is Tommy Pickles, I’m one of the original Nicktoons, my cousin rules the Mother Land....and you are?”

“Sanjay Patel, I’ve always been a fan of old Nicktoon history...I’m very happy to be meeting one of the people who started it all today.”

“Thanks.”

Just then, Brawn Helga came into the room, having a discussion with a slightly older-looking beochan with hair similar to Sanjay’s, but also with green skin too; “Alright boy, this is where you’ll be sharing a room with one of the other beochan here, got it?” she sternly said, looking the boy in the eyes before putting him into the room before mumbling: “And no monkey business, got it?”

He replied, “Yeah yeah, I got you.”

“I just met your roommate Sanjay and he really is a sweet kid.” I said warmly, introducing him to Sanjay, who waved gracefully to him.

“Last name’s Slithers, first name’s Crai-” he tripped and fell on a toy-thing that fell out of either Fabian or ChiChi’s pockets and crashed on to Sanjay, leading both of them squished like pancakes.

“Heheh....I’ll get both of you off the floor.” I said, picking Craig up from the floor as he looked dazed and confused~ on the flip side, Sanjay was grinning like a fool, had swirly cheeks and blank eyes (Hachune face).

Later that night, when we dined the night before we reached...wherever the Nicktoons where going to be crowned, we had a banquet as a pre-welcome party and everyone and their mother was pigging out....okay I was stretching it a bit, only two Nicktoon mothers where on that ship at the time but we all had fun, heck, even Helga was having a good time! I even spotted the two bunk mates, Sanjay and Craig, dishing out some food.

“Aw man, there’s only one hot wing left, bummer...” Craig muttered.

Sanjay, looking down at the (boneless) buffalo wing, suggested: “I’ll let you have it.”

“Don’t you want it? I’d hate to be selfish.” asked the green skinned boy.

“...We can split it then.” The shorter one replied with a sweet smile.

“Deal!”

“You stole the last hot wing, eh?” asked a thuggish Nicktoon, who happened to be a big, buff, punkish-looking robot I hear was known as “Crikey”.

“Aw buzz off, I thought you liked bacon in your homeland!” Craig hissed at the stranger.

“Bring it on, kid.”

Craig grew fangs, had his eyes glow bright red and slowly morphed into a snake that lunged at Crikey, trying to strangle him as the latter was punching him; this lead to the other passengers (myself included) getting hyped up and rowdy on the ship and cheering for a fight, unfortunately, most of us got rowdy and joined in by fighting each other, albeit in a more friendly way but as we got louder and more dangerous, Helga’s good mood faded away and she marched out of the control panel and started scolding virtually everyone for the mess they made~ later on, a fraction of the passengers where put in security as I, along with ChiChi and Fabian where punished by having to clean up the whole ship, plus the mess hall, the ballroom and the security room.

“Make sure the floor is clean enough so I can eat off of it, punks!” she nagged.

“I rather would have gotten fired” I muttered in my head; luckly, my whole night wasn’t ruined, as I did see a really sweet moment when Sanjay came inside to visit Craig, who was punished along with the mischievous passengers who helped out in the chaos.

“Hey Craig, I’m sorry you got locked up in here for the night....maybe I can stay with you until you’re freed.” said Sanjay with a large amount of understandable sympathy since the cell looked like a serious drag.

“Sure, kid.” Craig nodded with a weak smile.

Sanjay sat down and showed him a comic book to cheer him up, it was none other than my absolute favorite one.....

“Aw sweet, I haven’t read KaBlam! in years.” said Craig.

 “W-where did you get it!?” I couldn’t help but ask Sanjay as I was geeking out of nostalgia.

“I bought it at a thrift store.” Sanjay smiled; “I always wanted to meet another fan of the KaBlam! comics.”

“Cooooool.”

So we spend the rest of the night laughing away at all the funny stories of aliens, sentient action figures, a little girl who was a total weirdness magnet and of course, the antics of June and Henry, it was like I was a little kid again; who knew a pair of millennials where into that stuff? after that, Sanjay couldn’t help but sneak into the cell and sleep by Craig’s side, with a sleeping bag, he nestled himself up near Craig’s steel bed, after all, they where roommates~ Finally, when me and the little ones were finished with the work, we finally went to our rooms and slept like rocks, thank God too because all that mopping was seriously killing me.

What a day that was, new Nicktoons where ready to join our community, I got to get whisked away along with everyone else to a paradise on the sea, ate all the food I could stuff in my face, joined in on a crazy fight and it seemed that for two of the newbies, it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
