What the actual fuck, Larry David.
So I heard about it, but didn't watch it until now. Holy shit it's even worse than I thought. What the fuck is wrong with that guy? Elmo is, like, the best friend to multiple generations of children, and is currently putting mental health and caring for others in the spotlight.
And Larry Fucking David ... did ... that? And thought it was going to be ... funny?
What an asshole. What a stupid, self-centered, tone deaf asshole.
Hey, fucko: First of all, you aren't even in the segment, but you just decided to barge in and draw focus because ... why? You couldn't stand that a puppet brought people together in a meaningful way that you can't? You couldn't stand that your appearance on national television to promote your wildly successful series was delayed for a few seconds while the adults talked about mental health?
I really want to know what raced through his tiny little mind, and why there was no voice or person who spoke up to stop him.
You know who is watching the Today show with their parents? Kids who also watch Sesame Street. Elmo is an avatar for children all over the world. Children who are too small to understand Elmo is a puppet will know that a man attacked him for no reason, and that will frighten them.
Elmo inspired a deeply meaningful and important moment of collective support among disparate people who have been struggling through the traumas of a pandemic, daily mass shootings, the rise of fascism and everything associated with Trump's violence and cruelty.
And shitty idiot Larry David couldn't stand it, for some reason. He had to indirectly tell everyone who opened their hearts to a Muppet that they were stupid, and he thought it was a good joke to physically attack and choke this character who is beloved by children and adults alike.
I've been bored by and totally over Larry David's brand of being an asshole to everyone because they had the temerity to exist around him since the day it started. It was easy to just ignore him. But this thing he did was hurtful, it wasn't funny, and his bullshit non-apology tells all of us everything we need to know about him.
Larry David strikes me as a person who mocks and belittles people who are vulnerable and sensitive, who is cruel because he enjoys it and is untouchable. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's who I see whenever I can't find the remote and he's on my television.
By contrast, Elmo and the Muppets teach and model that kindness and empathy aren't weak or stupid or any of the things people like Larry David and my dad think they are. Elmo and the Muppets teach children to be gentle and kind, to celebrate our different cultures and to embrace all of our complicated feelings.
I hope that, when the dust settles, Larry David's appalling behavior will be a footnote to a larger story about how, for just one day, a Muppet made a difference by helping all of us who are struggling feel just a little less alone and anxious.
A man who would belittle and mock that isn't much of a man at all.

Hello! I'm contacting you as one of the mods in PokeMagma events. We have noted your amazing contribution to the session, it's really well drawn! ^^ But unfortunately we are concerned about whether the image is suitable for the session-- Like you know everyone is welcome to the session as long as they follow the rules. One of our rules is "keep it PG." We have noted that it's a very vague rule and we actually forgot to add some clarification to it. So we have now added: "Any questionable ship content is off limits, either directly or suggested." This is not your fault! We should've been more clear about it before.
Our problem is that you're giving exposure to your au's that have blankshipping content. Imagine a situation if someone who's not comfortable with blankshipping will find that content via your twitter/tumblr handle and checks the au's that you drew in the session. Everyone trusts that no-one draws blankshipping content on the session so that would come as a surprise to them.
You're still verry much welcomed to the next events if you still want to join us! ^^ I hope that you'll understand our reasoning why we'll remove that drawing from the final edit. Feel free to contact/reply me or @/pokemagma anytime if you want to say or ask anything about the matter! Thank you for joining us!
it is near midnight my time and i am tired and pissed off, so i'm sorry if i'm coming off as harsh
for folks who haven't seen it, this was my piece for the magma. it took me 11 hours to complete, and i was really proud of it. the piece itself is not shippy, it is PG. this piece did not break the magma rules that you published online.
some of my aus have been written for ship, some have been written for gen, some i've written both, some i haven't written at all yet. this is going to come as an absolute mindfuck for some folk here, but i am allowed to draw my aus in whatever way i want. for this piece i drew them as not shippy, out of respect for folk who don't enjoy that content. removing it from the magma edit because i've written ship for it in the past is shit.
and honestly the reasoning of "what if they look you up?" to be fucking bullshit. so what if folk look me up and find content they don't like? fam i trust them to go "oh! this content isn't for me!" and close the fucking browser window like the fucking adults they are. my shit is tagged on my art blog, my ao3 and my twitter - i trust that folk are knowledgeable enough to know how filters work and how to avoid content they don't want to see.
you tell me that i'm welcome to return - how am i welcome to return when you remove something i worked hard on and the reasoning is "you broke rules we didn't tell you about and we can't risk folk looking up your content"? i get that the filthy blankshippers aren't meant to have feelings but friend cmon. if you spent eleven hours on something only for a moderator to remove it because they "forgot to clarify" a rule and they don't want people looking you up, you'd be real upset too.
in addition to this, while i was drawing i was approached by one of your mods. after confirming I wasn't drawing ship art, they proceeded to tell me how many complaints they received because i was there and had been drawing on the last magma
to be clear, my first magma was in june. last month. the shiny pokemon magma. folk were complaining to you about me when i wasn't even drawing submas.
i don't think this is about the art, honestly. i think you just got tired of folk complaining about me and wanted me out

BLOGTOBER 10/21/2024: BURIAL GROUND
You wouldn't know it from my pathologically compulsive habits, but I am sometimes conflicted about the whole horror studies situation. I mean I'm glad more and more people are enjoying horror and I wouldn't want to tell anyone what to do, but sometimes I judge people who I perceive as trying too hard to be too serious about something that doesn't necessarily ask for it. Probably I'm often reacting (unfairly) to younger people who are just now imprinting on academia, and they are picking up certain thought patterns and rhetorical patterns and just...like...patterns, that they enjoy repeating. I'll hear somebody proudly announcing their 101-level application of feminism or psychoanalysis or social history to (...whatever, SCREAM sequels come to mind, but it could be anything reasonably accessible), and I have this internal reaction like, "Do you really think that? Or did you hear someone else say something like that, and you liked it so much that you want to say it too?" I'm remembering a conversation I had with a friend who had been to see HAIL CAESAR!; I said, "Is it good?" and she said, "It's a love letter to the golden age of Hollywood," and I said, "....is it good?" I just knew she had heard that phrase somewhere, and it felt smart to say it, and her desire to repeat a piece of analysis that she liked had overridden her ability to just answer my question.
...And again, like, this isn't a crime, and everybody has to start somewhere, and you don't need to be a genius to have permission to do something that is fun for you. But it does make me check my own responses to things. I've certainly been accused of pretentiousness by people who object to any kind of intellectualization at all of certain topics, but at this point I like to think that my writing is fairly considered. And I try to be conscious of when something really deserves consideration, and when it is more appropriate to just do blogger shit if I feel like it. But like, here's some of the kind of thing that makes me nervous:
I mean...I agree with SOME OF this. But some of it I find very alarming. BURIAL GROUND is a fucking mess! It's the kind of mess you have to see to believe. I remember when I was getting into horror in a serious way in 10,000 BC, this was one of the movies that people told each other they must see--largely because of the casting of an adult little person as the small child of a woman whose titty he bites off. That's the big scene. I forgot that it's kind of the ONLY scene! In film criticism, there are certain words that get tossed around like "incoherent" and "plotless", usually used by people who aren't used to deliberately dreamy or unstructured movies, or who can't get past the amateurishness of something to see if it has more unusual pleasures to offer...and then once in a great while you see something that is really genuinely plotless, like BURIAL GROUND, and you're like HOLY SHIT it's true, you can actually fully make a movie with almost no plot whatsoever! It barely even has EVENTS!
I don't really know how to describe what happens in this movie. At the beginning you're introduced to a scholarly guy who accidentally activates a curse or whatever, but if you think that you're going to find out more about him or how the curse works or what the point of it is or anything, you're dead wrong. Soon a bunch of people turn up at a mansion, and then a bunch of zombies come out of the ground, and they besiege the mansion so slowly that it's like nothing you've ever seen in your life. The actors are obliged to stand very close to windows and doors and wait politely for a long time the zombies to get close enough to threaten them. There's a particular moment where a guy is grappling with a zombie and it's supposed to be exciting and suspenseful, like the zombie is about to get him, but the zombie isn't far enough away so he just swirls his hands around the victim's face in kind of an "I'M NOT TOUCHING YOU, I'M NOT TOUCHING YOU" way and you just have to play along that the zombie almost has him, but not quite! Other than the thing I already said about the "child", there's really not a lot more I can do with this.
Actually I have to admit that I do kind of enjoy the zombie heads. I mean the movie is extraordinarily cheap, all the zombies have like smocks or nightgowns or something on so they don't have to have real costumes, they're like depressingly cheap dolls. But they have these heads that are sort of expressionistic, they sometimes look like the slightly-abstract, spooky watercolor covers of pulp novels if you know what I mean; they look like they might be fun to draw or paint. I *think* the person I want to credit for these is Rosario Prestopino, although Gino di Rossi also has a makeup credit. This movie has some credits I've never seen before though, at some point they're literally like "Curtains by," "Furniture by," and I thought huh I didn't know you had to do that!
Anyway, I just have to think that people are either being sarcastic or kidding themselves when they are painfully verbose and elaborate about e.g. BURIAL GROUND. The first guy from my Wikipedia screenshot turns out to be a professor of folklore, and I will say that sometimes I encounter niche specialists who draw on movies for some of their material, and because they're not native movie people, they have astoundingly bad taste. You just want to tell them "Dude, [movie X, I have examples but don't wanna accuse real people] is actually not a good movie, I know it's like the first movie you saw that aligns with your main interests, but there's lots of other movies that could be relevant to you if you want...oh never mind." Sometimes it's a matter of the movie saying something they want to hear, something they already think is true and expect to see, and then they just don't feel like looking for another movie that might be more provocative or experimental on the same topic. I mean, I'm just spitballing here, I can't imagine what a folklorist would see in BURIAL GROUND since it doesn't explain itself at all or add much to the zombie conversation; I don't know what the fuck I would do if one of my college professors told me I had to see BURIAL GROUND because it was amazing. I would be so shocked when I saw it. But I guess the only thing that's really important is, that guy is having fun.
The last thing I have to say about this is, as per the little person/child bit, director Andrea Bianchi seems to be a pretty fucked up individual. He's probably best known, if not for BURIAL GROUND, than for the notoriously depraved STRIP NUDE FOR YOUR KILLER, and then he also made a movie called MALABIMBA - THE MALICIOUS WHORE, and you can imagine what that's probably like. Then he made this movie I was previously curious about, CRY OF A PROSTITUTE; Henry Silva is interviewed about it in that EUROCRIME! documentary, and he sounded completely traumatized about what he had to do to Barbara Bouchet in it. Creepy. Anyway, Andrea Bianchi also made THREE NINJAS: KNUCKLE UP, and I guess that's the last comment I'll make on the matter.

Creations AU, But I obnoxiously over explain it PT 11
Pages 301-330
Again thanks to @akdrawsandwrites for helping with some of these pages, I can't remember which but I recognize a few of them as theirs. X'D They did a great job lining and coloring a few of these. Apricate it immensely.
We hitting end game what I have page wise guys.
Thanks for baring with my nonsense. I hope to finish the FNAF 1 arc. But I will post the other side comics and long winded explanations of those. X'D Hope you've enjoyed Creations so far! It was a labor of love because I love FNAF. A lot...
Can I just say I like Freddy and Mike's dynamic.
I like Freddy a lot in Creations because he's like, so NOT fannon Freddy in all the ways that hits me in the "Aww yeah that's good shit" way. X'D
He's a flamboyant full of gender slut that is scared of ghosts despite BEING A POSSESSED ROBOT lmfao. His design just hits my brain in a nice way too. He's so cute.
He gives sassy drag queen vibes and I like him.
I am not really a fan of fannon Freddy unless it's like super specific circumstances.
I'm going to dip into "I hate this trope" territory but keep in mind you are not obligated to write around my preferences. Or even force yours to fit mine. That'd be dumb. Write what makes you happy I'm just talking about shit I don't enjoy personally.
Bitch mode activated:
If you're going with him being possessed by a child, which a LOT of people do to stay cannon it makes ZERO sense for him to be a sensible leader type unless you like GIVE HIM A REASON? Which most people don't. Most people also make him a bitch which I hate.(And not in a campy gay bitch way like Creations Freddy that makes the queer part of me laugh and relate to) I'm not sure I understand the idea of making Freddy so damn unlikable in a story based on the franchise ABOUT HIM??? Like...It's so fucking overdone I'm sorry lmfao be a bit more damn creative. Don't be lazy? Give him a damn personality outside of "Cunt for no reason with a stick up his ass" like? Idk? Be FUN with him! Does he feel the NEED to be the leader because he's designed that way by the company? Does the stress EAT at him? If you DO go the route of making him posessed by a child: Did he feel the need to grow up and act more adult. How often does he fail at this task? What are the consequences? People's bad writing makes me think of reasons for him that aren't in the text 99% of the damn time. Quite frankly: I am not a fan of popular fnaf comics. Like any of them. X'D They feel really soul-less a lot of the time in a way I can't quite describe...
A lot of the creators hate working on them, hate their fanbase and hate the games past a certain point so that's probs why lmfao. I've gotten pissed at the fans on Webtoon, and gotten pissed at how much of a slog some scenes and I've considered quitting once or twice, but never cause I hated the actual games, or the comic and story of Creations, just cause some scenes are annoying to work on from a writer's perspective or cause people misinterpreted the story so bad they had no clue what was going on. I fucking love FNAF and wanted to make a fan story that you could tell came from a place of love.
Here's some pitfalls to avoid:
Don't start hating your own characters. It will hurt your writing. I've noticed LOTS of FNAF comic makers start to hate their own damn characters. PUT. THE. COMIC. DOWN. I AM SERIOUS.
If you start to despise your own work. STOP. TAKE A BREAK. REFELCT. Maybe it won't be PERMINENT but until you can sort out what your deal is STOP.
You are doing NO ONE favors by continuing to the point you start actively shit talking everyone and everything that comes into contact with this story that way.
If you noticed: I STARTED FALLING INTO THAT SHIT. OH GOD BLACKSTAR HAS FLAWS! O.O
Me doing THIS, talking about how I love my own comic appreciating how much time and work I put into it: all the goofy fun stuff I put in as easter eggs the characters ex, was a way to reinvent my feelings towards this comic because I WANT TO FINISH IT and it's helped a lot. FIND JOY IN THE PROCESS OF CREATION. ;)
If you aren't liking FNAF as much as you used too: Literally just go back and watch smth you liked about it before. The ruin DLC sparked my shit back into gear, watching old lets plays and listening to fan music also helped. Just. Idk. Engage with the thing you're making a damn comic about? Like, find out what you loved to begin with.
I have like 4+ comics I work on in rotation when I'm not in the mood to work on one. Variety helps me too.
Another thing I'd advise against: Don't make a big diaper baby blow out scene about "Leaving" a fanbase. It's fucking embarrassing. If you don't feel the spark, you don't feel it. That's FINE. As an autistic person: My interests change like a girl changes clothes.
But don't literally shit your pants and make a scene about it people will look back at you as the person who shat their pants in front of everyone and embarrassed themselves.
If you're asking yourself "Is star talking about X artist?" honey I'm talking about at least 4 different ones I've seen do this exact thing and I got second hand embarrassment every time. If you resent the popularity you got from certain fanbases: I'm sorry the best thing to do is move on. Yes. Again I speak from experience. (Not FNAF, but a different fanbase)
If you don't get as much recognition on your OG works: Tough shit I'm sorry that's how it is. As someone who does OC comics I've accepted "Some people just won't read this cause FNAF isn't attached, and that's okay. I am the same way. You cannot expect people to love everything you create"
As a child/teen, watching actual adults do this shit made me the person I am today but deciding: "Nah that's dumb, I am getting second hand embarrassment and I am not behaving that way"
Childishness is something big artists need to learn is a problem before they get big. Temper tantrums aren't a cute look for anyone.
It's okay to get in over your head with shit. Just try to be calm about things here's things that overtime I've learned help me cope with huge projects:
They're meant to be fun. If you aren't having fun: Figure out why and change it. You aren't obligated to finish them. You can always come back. Another reason to not "shit your pants" as I call it. People will love to see more from your comic if you put it down and come back. :) It's more embarrassing to shit your pants and then come back like you never did and try to keep going. Keep doors open if you would. My "Shit your pants" moment singlehandedly keeps me away from one fandom lmfao avoid it if you can. Try not to be a cunt about the thing that GOT you popular. You will look like a class act clown I guarantee it. If people don't understand your comic and that is causing frustration, I genuinely advise making a "Director's commentary" style thing like this. It's a lot of fun. X'D And it might give people perspective into your madness.
This doesn't help if you're just a control freak tho lmfao.
Anyways, enough of my blabbing about my history watching old fandom artists assassinate their own characters for all to see in the most embarrassing and violent fashion, and how that irreversibly changed me as a person, back to the actual damn comic.
Interrupted. He has no respect for Mike.
So Freddy describes typical haunting behavior for ghosts. Smells and SOME people are spiritually inclined while some aren't. As we've seen Mike for example can't see ghosts unless they WANT him to see them.
Sammy apparently can see ghosts and is considered "Insane" we can kiiiinda see why from earlier. X'D
It's safe to say Mike took that personally.
Awkward.
Default to insults Freddy, it's okay we understand you're perfect- Freddy you stupid idiot you should have kept your mouth shut it's not nice to call mentally ill people "Freaks".
Mike REASONABLY asks if the ghosts are REAL and considering we know 1 is for certain Sammy's not "Bonkers" according to Freddy.
Freddy just showing off his personality like usual.
Freddy he can't make eye contact. HE'S AUTISTIC.
Anyways even Freddy's noticed Sammy's eyes are weird.
Okay funny thing: Freddy was going to make a dick sucking joke but none I came up with were very funny.
If I remember right one was smth like "You always sound like you just choked on a dick" or something like that??? Something this vulgar makes sense from Creations Freddy but I decided to tone it back a little. X'D I also felt it was very mean.
Freddy's mean enough as it is lmfao.
Freddy stop sexualizing the night guard-
Uh oh-
Your daily reminder Mike is short-
Freddy is the worst. But I love him.
Chica giving sass for that. She doesn't apear much but I like her.
Foxy got thanos snapped lmfao I had no idea what to do with him in this comic ngl. X'DDDDDDD
Maybe he'll show up later...Maybe.
He showed up in the OG shitpost version of this comic and Bonnie sold him out for cigarettes.
Our boys meet up once again. :)
Michael couldn't see him the previous day for whatever reason.
PFF. JUST LIKE AN ANIME MAN!
Also Mike that's harassment...
Lmfao. I don't remember exactly when I decided Mike was trans but I know it was FAILRY early on. Not there were many references to it.
The fact color wise: he's a walking pride flag is kinda a clue I suppose. X'D
Oh mah goodness. Oh my damn. It's the other Freddy.
HAHA OH WHAT MIKE?
Well shit there's a TON of victims then.
Bonnie. Your buddy is a murderer-
Hehehe yeah but you're also a short king buddy-
Hahaha. So this thing eats children nice to know.
Mike being a smart boy like usual.
Hehe. Face plates. :)
Mike doesn't wanna be around this thing, and I can't blame him. Also I find it genuinely hilarious how half the panels in some of these pages are drawn by me, and half are drawn by AK.
We get into pages I can't be bothered to color the remaining pages are colored kinda randomly. Funtime Freddy as you can probebly tell is ANNOYING to color. He has SO MANY COLORS it got very overwhelming trying to color him. I'm sorry but that's how it is lmfao. X'D I wanna be done with the FNAF 1 arc:
Cool thing tho, if I ever want to color em the characters are white so I can just slap a multiply layer on and go brrrr with color.
Anyways, they both decide to leave at the same time.
I'm sure nothing will come of this. :)
Hehehhehehe he knows something....
OH GOD.
Oh fuck. Mike got vored.
I'm sorry I have to make this joke, vore is terrible and I hate it I've made that very well known and joking about how much I despise it is how I cope.
Having said that: I love the stomach hatch idea/being trapped inside an animatronic.
It's like the Springlock mechanic taken to the next level lmfao. Complete and utter hopelessness on the end of the person inside, claustrophobia, IMANENT DEATH, IT'S HORRIFYING AND I LOVE IT. >:)
A+ Horror idea.
OBVIOUSLY: this is based on COUNT THE WAYS from the 1st Fazbear's Fright novels.
Can I just say, Luring and trapping people this way is so fucking creative I LOVE THE SL ROBOTS. Like, it's just so cool of an idea because it already kinda plays off the idea from FNAF 1 that there's children STUFFED inside the FNAF 1 robots. (As a way to hide them)
but SL robots do that, but TRANSPORT said children/use their chambers to KILL said children and harvest remnant. THAT IS SO DARKLY AWESOME.
IK we're all hyping up the MIMIC and it's ability to copy people's voices but uh: FUNTIME FOXY DID THAT SHIT FIRST FROM THEIR BLUEPRINTS.
I'm sad to this DAY people don't use Funtime Foxy's voice mimic mechanic in fan content. THAT'S AWESOME.
I like the trap mechanic and how it's used again for the twisted ones. It's such a great idea to make a robot that's friendly on the outside but is basically a fucking iron maiden on the inside. Like DAMN. THAT GOES SO HARD!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! :D
Also all the short jokes have a purpose: Mike's small enough to fit inside Funtime Freddy. Because he's built to capture kids.
Something I worry about with Funtime Freddy:
He is a FAN FAVORITE In Creations. Like. People like him. A LOT.
I made a lot of side comics with him and Bon Bon. Where Bon Bon is his emotional support bunny rabbit. People really liked that. Because Funtime Freddy was showing relatable autistic behavior (He struggles with shit I do lmao.)
I'm worried about 'Ruining' his character for people hah.
He's a butt-
GUESS WHO GOT RE-ENVIGORATED TO DRAW PAGES.
Me. After the movie.
Mike's having a harder time keeping his composure.
I feel like the reason is obvious: SL robots are literally only built to kill people, he's in the most dangerous part of the building, and Funtime Freddy's a wacko.
Haha. Word play. Funtime Freddy did not detect the albeit minimal exaggeration in what Bonnie said. Poor dude.
Haha will to live.
Funtime Freddy's out for blood.
More confirmation who our villain is.
So if you're not a Creations AU veteran, Funtime Freddy is just easily swayed by someone calming him down.
Mike's pretty good at faking shit.
Bon Bon isn't here rn, so Mike's taking on the role of "Calm the giant anxious bear down"
WE HAVE ALSO REACHED IMAGE CAP. SO WE WILL CAAAAARRYYYY OOOOOON-
Ending note: watched the FNAF movie again last night.

The reason why so many of us in the YR Fandom on Tumblr are so nice is that most of us are grown-ass adults (I can't finde the age poll we did once, but let's just say there aren't many teens here). We're like the sophisticated, civil part of the fandom on here. Except when new snippets of S3 drop. Then we all lose our shit for two days.
So, welcome again and enjoy being debonairly unhinged about our favorite show.
Some kind sweet people have messaged me telling me that and I think it's great! I'm also 30+ 🤭 so I guess that's why I feel like I'm among my people already haha I'll forever be grateful to my freaked out mind for opening tumblr and for the algorithm for recommending the confessions blog to me.
And I can totally understand the feeling, I lost my shit after watching only the first season, after watching the second and the season 3 clip I was ready to scream from my rooftop about Young Royals!
And thank you! I've felt so welcomed already, best experience with fandom ever! 💜

Sorry to bring more discourse to your blog, but it's about the whole "problematic" shipling thing, because it's a part of older RE plot, that absolutely does my head in. It doesn't fucking make sense. We can talk ALL day about how Leon is canonically responsible for genocides. It's canon that these things have happened because he never has the backbone to finish the job or manage his feelings like a grown adult. It's an interesting talk, but it's NEVER (or very barely) addressed that way in the actual material. His whole "turn the other cheek, because he needs a vague romance" trope is really just one massive fucking plot hole and I don't know why people aren't completely pissed about it. His messy narrative is one of my least favourite things in the series. It almost turns me off of his games and movies entirely. I enjoyed REmake, 7 and 8 the most because at least the characters add up. Their motivations are clear. It's a fully formed story and we know who does what and why. They just haven't fucking done that with Leon. They can't decide on whether to flesh him out properly or to keep throwing him early naughts b-movie tropes that arguably, just make him less likeable (to me).
Sorry for the rant. But holy shit. Anything about his character outside of "I'm angry, let's shoot" has been fucking terrible, in my eyes. They have no idea what to do with him. His choices constantly fucking contradict themselves. He's like a nonstop, unstable "what to doooo?" asshole and I DON'T KNOW WHY ANYONE ELSE ISN'T MAD ABOUT THE CONSTANT PLOT HOLES AND SENSELESS BULLSHIT THIS CHARACTER DOES I HONESTLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HE BECAME MORE POPULAR THAN CHRIS, CLAIRE, WESKER, HUNNIGAN, ETHAN AND JILL OTHER THAN "HE HAS COOL BANGS AND TELLS JOKES SOMETIMES" LIKE WHAT?
I know I'll get roasted and shredded for saying it, but jesus christ man, it's such an enormous pet peeve of mine. I just want the remakes to finish their job of understanding that Leon hasn't been written well and he's gotta be fixed. That Ashley actually has a whole load of potential and Ada has only ever been an empty, racist and sexist stereotype that can't be fixed unless they bother to actually write any sort of story for her other than "sexy Asian is mean sometimes, but her terrorism is okay because the emo boy kissed her this one time and has known her for a combined 15 hours."
Phew. I am mad. I'm sorry for exposing you to this. I've only gotten into RE like less than a year ago and the stupidity and lack of literacy and analysis in this fucking fanbase is crazy to me. If I see one more "sibling coded toxic age gap, Leon is flawless omg ashley little girl so silly" post I'm going to shave my head. Even my phone is glitching because it can't keep up with my seemingly very unpopular rager.
homie i'mma need u to fuckin breathe and understand that this is the same series where the only reason that the main villain ever had to hate the main protagonist was the fact that the main protagonist laughed at his science project -- and then that detail was retconned out of the remake, and now there's no reason for wesker to hate chris at all, actually.
this is the same series that killed off its main villain way too prematurely, realized immediately that they fucked up by doing it, and, instead of just retconning it and bringing him back, they tried to "oops! all weskers!" it, then didn't know what to do with that, then just decided to write it so that he had a son, but then nobody liked him, either, and now they're just going FUCK IT LET'S JUST REMAKE THE WHOLE THING.
this is the same series that is so unabashedly and unrepentantly racist that it sends its white american protagonist into the heart of africa, whereabouts he encounters a village with actual mud huts in it, where the townspeople are dressed in actual tribal clothing, and they chuck actual literal spears at him.
this is the same series where the creators openly admitted to not allowing their main female protagonist to visibly age because they thought it'd hurt their bottom line.
this is the same series where the objectively best title in it has a story that's so fucking bad that the dude who wrote and directed it said that he'd only support a remake of it if the remake fixed his shitty fucking story and actually told a good one.
this is the same series where rachel fucking foley exists and is meant to be taken seriously.
this is the same series where a dude fucking a spider is, questionably and arguably, canon.
leon is not remotely the worst part of resident evil's storytelling, nor is ada the most offensively racist part of it. THE ENTIRE NARRATIVE OF RESIDENT EVIL IS NONSENSE DOG GARBAGE. leon and ada are just par for the course.
if you are not a raccoon and/or opossum who enjoys gorging yourself on garbage, perhaps resident evil is not the series for you.
that's why they called it raccoon city in the first place.
because the playerbase must inevitably be filled with raccoons, because only raccoons would enjoy the sheer amount of garbage that the story throws at them.

I'm 100% reading the next ACOTAR books (even if it's an E/riel book, I'll give it a shot even though I have 0 interest in them as a couple) and I have no idea who the next one is about but I can't help but hope for an Elucien book :(
I like Elain and I want to learn more about her, but Lucien has been one of my favorite characters since book 1 and I want his POV so badly. I'm almost convinced they're next. I feel like there's no urgency for Gwyn and Azriel's story, since Gwyn was just introduced in the previous book and Az has only just begun to get over Mor.
Though I'm petty and I hope Gwyn and Lucien are somehow related lol there's no way she won't like him
I want to tackle your last comment first.
Can I tell you how much I cackle at the thought of Gwyn being related to Lucien which means Az would then be Lucien's in-law? 😂😂😂 And Lucien having a whole "but are you good enough for my cousin / niece, etc?" moment? I'm sure SJM would never write that but I take delight in it from time to time.
On to the rest....
I'm with you, I will absolutely read an E/riel book if that's what SJM writes and I'm sure I'll enjoy it well enough (though right now, I also have no interest in a book about them). I don't absolutely love the Crescent City series but I like Quinlar together (even though they aren't in my top SJM favorite couples). TOD wasn't my favorite TOG book but I still liked who ended up with who. SF isn't my favorite ACOTAR novel but I still like Nessian together.
Something I feel SJM does so well is write spectacular romance. I'm not even talking about the smut, I'm talking about the way she takes two people, places them in one another's orbits but throws a whole bunch of shit their way before they actually fall in love. Her romances feel so real to me, they build so beautifully (no insta-love which I struggle with) so by the time they get together, the depth of feelings between them seems powerful. And she never writes that awkward teenage love stage between her endgame couples. They're not silly and giddy or shy around one another as they're falling in love. They act like adults who communicate, call one another out and throw hard truths at each other, talking about the deep stuff.
So if E/riel is endgame, she will give them that treatment.
I've yet to see it in their interactions though (especially when you consider neither party is against chatting with the other) which is a huge part of why I don't think they're happening.
But Elucien would be on a whole other level.
Imagine SJM giving us an entire book of two people whose strengths lie, not in their skills as a warrior (though Lucien does have that going for him when necessary) but in how clever they both are? How observant they are? How good they are at getting what they want because they're just so good at knowing exactly what to say to people? Where people are ready to hand them over whatever they want because they're just so damn likeable? How no one has any idea what the hell they're thinking half the time because they're always so polite and well mannered, they rarely lash out, yet you know they must have a million and one things going through their mind and you just know that under the surface there's this incredible passionate side to them that they only share with one another?
Everyone wins with an Elucien endgame. Az because he can get his own mate. Elain and Lucien so they aren't forced to feel a tug to one another for eternity. Feyre because her first friend in Prythian becomes her brother-in-law. Rhys because he gets connections all over (listen, it's a valid reason for a High Lord). Nesta because she knows that Lucien would never be disloyal to her sister and knows Elain would never struggle with the tug of an unfulfilled bond. Cassian because he already feels bad seeing Lucien's disappointment.
This part Gwynriels may want to turn away from because they won't like it as much (nothing bad, just in regards to the next book) 😬🙈
Lucien's story has been building since book 1. Now only that but SJM has been thinking about Lucien's story long enough that she completely retconned his father in book 2, the same time she began planning for Elain's future journey. She continued setting up for their novel in book 3 when she introduced Koschei and Vassa. She again continued setting up their journey in the novella when she told us how much of a concern it is that Springs borders have been left unenforced (a plot we know would be related to Lucien considering he told Feyre it's not that he doesn't want to return to Spring, it's that he can't because of her schemes). She set them up even more in SF by telling us how Spring had been made for someone like Elain, by telling us Lucien is now permanently stationed there, by introducing the idea of Elain traveling to the continent south of the tulip fields and having Lucien set his sights on Koschei in the same part of the continent. We have Feyre say they'll help one sister before helping the other, we have Lucien showing powers of a High Lord and we have Elain finally standing up for herself as well as Amren and Rhys telling us that Elain is ready for more.
Az and Gwyn featured heavily in SF because they are Nesta and Cassian's best friends and Nesta's journey was about her learning who she was outside of Elain. But that doesn't mean anything we learned about them needs resolved before Elucien's story needs resolved.
Lucien's internal struggles were introduced in his POV in ACOWAR. Az's internal struggles were introduced in ACOSF. Elain's trauma was presented to us in ACOMAF. Gwyn's trauma was presented to us in ACOSF.
Now all these characters traumas are equally valid and equally difficult for them to overcome, they all deserve their stories to be told. However, I'm not sure why Gwynriels story should trump that of Elucien's when Elucien has been waiting their turn since books 1 and 2. We have witnessed their traumas occurring on page throughout the series, Lucien being SA, abused by Tamlin, his mates indifference, being chased out of Spring, fighting in his first war, his brothers trying to kill him again. We've seen Elain's kidnapping (twice), her being held down and forced into a Cauldron, her body violated when she was made, the rejection of her fiance, witnessing war, stabbing a man, seeing her father murdered, Az's rejection, knowing her sisters don't believe in her and is probably aware her sisters don't seek her out for anything more than "pleasant companionship",
I think Gwyn is a fantastic character and perfect for Az and I already see the crumbs for them. But.... I do think their story can still wait just a bit because it's not been as long coming.
And I get why SJM had to put Nessian's story first but she's been vocal about her love for Lucien for years now and though his story had to be put on hold for Feyre's and Nesta's, I can't imagine she suddenly just stopped wanting to tell his story. She's built it up in every single book since the start.
I also don't know what she'd do with Elain and Lucien's characters in yet another book that they were not the main POV. We'd have another Solstice of Elain hiding from Lucien. More IC scenes with Elain in the background and SJM having to continue demonstrating how she doesn't quite fit in (which she already did in SF), more scenes of Rhys talking about how they need Spring up and running and how they're worried about what Koschei's up to (things that will only be resolved in an Elucien book). It would all start feeling a bit repetitive.
With that said, I'm not SJM and who knows if her idea of what makes sense matches with my idea of what makes sense. The way I view this could be completely different than hers. There are way more people who think Gwynriel will have ACOTAR 5 so sometimes that makes me wonder if I'm crazy for being so strong in my convictions 😂

I have for almost 3 weeks been putting off finishing my English assignment for no real reason, I'm just for some reason not doing it. It's easter break so it can wait.
I've been meaning to watch "Tell Me That You Love Me" which is a South Korean remake of the Japanese show "Say That You Love Me". I made it through about 2 and a half episodes, but it started buffering and I couldn't bother reconnecting to the internet so, that's where I've ended up. I usually don't really enjoy shows about adults adulting, but this one seems good and emotionally loaded to the point where I'm partaking in it.
I have literally nothing scheduled for a while, but I'm excited for Japan's GP on Sunday. Will have to wake up at 7 in the morning, but it's fine I guess...
ALSO on Monday next week "선재 업고 뒤어" (Lovely Runner is the English title I think they've settled on) is premiering the first episode and I'm stoked. It's based on a WebToon that I would like to read, but I'm saving it for afterward to spare myself from any dissapointment while watching the show. Byeon Wooseok is in it (damaged Russian-Korean drug smuggler CEO in Strong Girl Nam-soon (shit show btw)) and my bff Kim Hyeyoon (of Extraordinary You fame). They have a 30 cm height difference though... for some reason Hyeyoon is always casted with guys five times her height. Anyway it's about this girl whose favorite singer dies, she goes back in time and has to find a way to reroute his path. Seems promising, will be watching because my favorite actors are in it lol.
Speaking of Byeon Wooseok, he has caused me grave emotional distress due to that gut wrenching movie "Soulmate" from 2023. You know, I was genuinely excited as he was getting more work after 20th Century Girl, but the actual heartbreak Soulmate caused me is unexplainable. I think about it all the time, anyway never ask me to watch a movie about two girls being friends I can't take it. I will not ever discuss 20th Century Girl so don't even bring it up.
On the 11th, the second season of Heartbreak High is coming out. I don't honestly know what I thought about the first season, it was too messy and not messy enough at the same time. Will be tuning in for this season though!
I've been thinking that I need to buy stuff. I've become too stingy. I put stuff in my cart and leave it there until it's gone out of stock. It's horrible I need to spend money. Either a vinyl or like an album of sorts, maybe a pair of jeans idk. RIIZE aren't releasing a physical album until June I think, so I have nothing to do on that front. Might check out Beyoncé's vinyls though...
Anyway, to wrap up, I'd like to recommend "Better Days" (2019), one of my favorite movies ever. I've watched it so many times, and each time I finish it I've learned something new. Music wise... Hikaru Utada's One Last Kiss. No reason just good song :) Will be having Chinese food for dinner.
Take care~~

Christ. Our BFF ZYX gets to punch WWX and also gets to fuck off to somewhere else and instead of a good time it's a motherfucking business conference where instead of learning shit you have to pander to your CEO? and they didn't even get to enjoy the punch. Even Xania-hellscape has to have SOME good parts, lord. This is terrible. Give Yuxun hot cocoa, a blanket, and a panic room.
unfortunately zyx lives in a Society, and the only good parts of this society is the lack of student loans, very dodge-able taxes, and magic sword fighting. chocolate is not in asia yet (let's ignore the chili thing yeah? yeah. that's not my sin, soooo) and panic room = seclusion in a cave
=
they couldn't even punch wwx, let alone have something to enjoy
=
they'll get some stuff to use as coping mechanisms next ch. is it better? eh. but a salad will be involved, and nothing cleanses like a nice, simply dressed, vegetable going cronch.
=
in seriousness, all these things are related. here, we see zyx in compute-error mode, where their mind wants one thing (maybe?) and their habits and survival mindset isn't letting them have it.
another is the implicit discussion on obligation, and what that means to me (aka zyx, and other people of in-between cultures). it might seem... nonsensical how zyx basically makes life difficult for themself, like "motherfucker you have two legs and a sword and you don't need to eat, just walk away?!?"
it's weird, growing up between an individualistic culture and collective one. to an extreme, neither are good. one thing that i can honestly admit that stunted me (and as a result, zyx is clearly Demonstrating) is the fear/inability to ask for help or that they can't do a thing, or negotiate obligations. obligations aren't bad--in like, how you can reasonably expect people will give you right of way on the street, or you should be respectful in public spaces, parents should care for their kids, etc etc--it helps people coexist. however, in a collectivist culture, in one with as high-context of a language as chinese, directly negotiating what obligations you can or want to handle (even if that negotiation will net benefits for everyone) is like if someone peed in your coffee at the coffee shop. you'd be baffled because "did that really happen?" "i don't have the operating procedures for this edge case of a social interaction, of which this barely qualifies"
what makes it more frustrating, to both the reader and myself (and if it's frustrating, then good i'm conveying it), is that zyx clearly has the vocabulary to identify their problem. (contrast with jzx, in which there was a throwaway line in earlier chs + his current frustrations where he doesn't have that vocab, doesn't understand, and gets even more frustrated because it feels like everything is wrong but no one notices.) but what can't be completely done is me showing you guys how disjoint that vocabulary is in both of zyx's 'native' languages. one set of vocabulary developed with one type of interaction and culture, and the other with another type. and they don't have the excuse of childhood bluntness and naivete to allow them to bulldoze through social interactions because that's the whole everything of them being an adult and hyper-cognizant of how they don't belong, needing to navigate carefully rather than other flavors of SIs/OCs that are teens and kids and really do act like that.
things matter, in a very specific way, to zyx and that's why given where they are in this life, it's never gonna be a stress-free fun time.
... unless they become sect leader in the future after things are truly peaceful (for this generation, at least)
then they can justify telling people, "this one is taking paid leave" ✌
"... huzi we don't get paid?"
#on dbd#inquiry#Anonymous#ch 20 is in no way the climax of the fic but it is def the boiling point for a lot of points i've been poking at in earlier chapters#the little bits of seriousness that zyx tries to gloss over with humor or understatements or sarcasm#like i never want my writing to be an Angst Fest even when talking serious shit#but it's always been serious and a very honest what-if. and if i'm anything it's fucking pedantic and anal-retentive about details

51. How do you think the RP/Fandom community has grown or changed since you started?
53. How would you respond if someone is rude to you or has done you wrong?
Memes from Another Mun || -
51: How do you think the RP/Fandom community has grown or changed since you started? Picture it... The Internets...20...a long time ago. When the web was wide and new and we'd just eked our way out of AOL and dial-up hell. Okay maybe a little later than that. We RP ancestors huddled around the virtual fires of our little cliques, telling our stories and painting our digital cave paintings in fandoms that spanned as far as the eye could see. It was a wild time born of primordial chaos. You had ninjas and neko-dhamphire-dragon assassins hanging out in the "rafters", vampires drinking bloodwyne while their translucent orbs took in the stunning visages of elves and Illithids and...and it was some crazy shit. I could put up a 500 page doctoral thesis about the way rp communities used to be, where everything was a cross-over, and canons almost literally did not exist, and if they did...they were the VERY odd duck out, most folks shying away from them. Every single person had their 'home' and then sometimes someone would be slighted and groups would go to "war", elaborate flaming/call outs/actual written storylines and so on. But there were rules, and there was a certain...decorum. And everyone seemed to understand it was a collaborate effort. Some of the prose might have been blindingly purple, and others might have been one liners, and sometimes just numbers.... It was quite creative and I look on those days, clearly, with fond memories. Nowadays, I think the writing has gotten...if not better, then certainly more focused. Like Pangaea splitting apart and forming the continents we know today, you can find a fandom for just about everything, and it's all a little weirder than it was before. I do feel a pain in my heart that a lot of people can't put their differences aside to have fun, we aren't as supportive of new people as we could be. We treat OCs like a disease but I kind of laugh at that because EVERYONE's CANON is literally someone's OC. A part of me misses the old days. And a part of me is glad that the hobby is still flourishing, and people are still being creative, because at the end of the day, we're all just trying to live our best fictional lives out here. <inserts the Judds Song, "Grandpa, Tell Me About The Good Old Days"> ~*~
53: How would you respond if someone is rude to you or has done you wrong? I mean, it depends on the act of rudeness. If people wanna talk smack behind my back, that's fine. I can't stop anyone. And I don't care to police things beyond my control. If it's put in an anonymous ask? Oh my sour summer child, I will peel paint with the strength of my vitriol as I tear that down as soon as I come back from grabbing some coffee. I will have citations, indexes, Venn diagrams of exactly where you fucked up and how, and a whole-ass TEDtalk about why this is neither friendly or correct. I am an adult, I do not enjoy talking out both sides of my mouth, and I expect people who have a problem with me to be the same way, and straight up just tell me. Not everything has to be on a public forum, sometimes discretion is still a virtue. If someone at least tries to be a reasonable human being and addresses a concern, a mistake, etc. and comes to me and says hey, I got this problem...the I will do my best to listen, and if I've done any harm {real or imagined} or overstepped a boundary, I will apologise. Most of the time though, I will respond to another person in the same manner with which I am treated.

You refer to the Barbie movie?
I don't think I've seen one person try to promote the Barbie movie based on heart and humor. I, with respect, genuinely have no idea how the fuck you got the idea it was the Barbie movie within like 0.2 seconds of me posting that. 'Cause you gave me this ask so fast, you'd think your life fucking depended on it.
I see Barbie get praised for it's outstanding visual look, and deep themes, all while doing it while still managing to be funny in a surprisingly outrageous way. With some genuinely stand-out awesome performances. It's a genuinely great movie.
I'm talking about shit like the Flash and Blue Beetle. Stuff that I feel like I'm only seeing be praised because people will shill anything with a super hero in it. Not to say that Blue Beetle is as bad as the Flash, but it feels like a very by the numbers movie that is getting praised by simply not being awful.
Humor and heart, humor and heart. There's other stuff too but it's those two movies that I remember the most. Probably because I'm well aware of the characters for obvious reasons, and to be honest, if it didn't have those names they'd be painfully forgettable apart from the Flash's odd tactic of disrespecting both the dead and living for entertainment.
People took the criticisms with DCEU's darkness way too to heart.
It wasn't just the fact those movies were too dark. It was that they were needlessly dark. Now we got movies that, while they seem to be made with enthusiasm, aren't made with passion. Also like they're made with safety scissors and storyboarded with crayon.
Which I think people are more and more confusing enthusiasm with passion.
A lot of things are being made that feel neutered and too sanitized. I like light-hearted stuff with humor, I love it a lot. But they're making stuff that's soft as baby shit, with quirkiness over the edges of anything of anything that could be interesting, had they not took such a bitch ass turn with it.
Again, that's not all to do with those two movies, or especially Blue Beetle, Blue Beetle just happened to be the movie that really got me sick of seeing that stuff.
I'm tired of movies or shows or cartoons that feel made in a factory with a check-list. Going for visuals before logic or good storytelling.
I want to watch more movies that just have the ability to tell a good story. They don't have to be overly complex, layered stories either. Just a genuinely interesting, entertaining story.
Like what the fuck even was the story of the Flash? Somehow Barry messing with time leads to them making the Burtonverse? Even though it does not fucking feel like the Burtonverse, it's just Michael Keaton's Batman. Which is where I say they're made with enthusiasm but not passion. Because if passion made the Flash, maybe the movie would've made fucking sense, and felt like they actually worked hard on it in the right places to pay respect to things, and not just use nostalgia as wallpaper for their shallow ass movie, that feels designed to be enjoyed by 7-year-olds who want to feel like they can handle an adult movie, 'cause people die in it.
I'm really rambling here, but it's just hard to truly describe what these movies and shows feel like.
It feels like they're making movies and shows and things for pussies. Pussies that can't take any real bite unless they layer it in some sort of quirky way, or do something where you don't really feel anything.
Michael Keaton's Batman dies by suicide bombing essentially, and all we get is Flash giving a cartoony NOOO if I remember right. It's not very serious at all.
My favorite movie is Jurassic Park, a movie that in a lot of ways is a horror adventure movie, made with kids still in mind. Yet it still feels like it has bite to it, because it doesn't talk down to anyone. It invites kids along for the ride and all, so they can still enjoy it along with everyone else. It's an everyone movie for the most part, since I wouldn't necessary recommend Jurassic Park to really really little kids given their still are scary moments that could give the teeny tiny ones nightmares given all the life experience you'd expect them to have.
At least with Batman v. Superman, for all the blatantly bizarre decisions they made with it, and how overly dark it is, I feel like it was made by a guy who genuinely tried telling me a helluva story. Even if the fucker botched it in the end.
As much as George Lucas doesn't understand a lot of aspects of filmmaking as much as you'd hope for him to do (I don't give a fuck if people like the prequels, they are not well made movies. I enjoy watching them, and I'm nostalgic for them too, but I'm not gonna play dumb about it), he knew that a special effect without a story is pretty boring. And he at least tried telling grand scope stories in the prequels even if he botched it to.
When your story feels like it had the general points of it plotted out in 20 minutes, it's probably dog shit.
And I can't get over how ugly the Flash is visually. I think I heard they fixed up some of the color grading on the NFT (who is stupid enough to buy that, I have no idea), but they think just moving around the camera a lot makes a good visual shot. No, it's nauseate. I love a moving camera a lot, but don't just do random shit with it. I learned basic photography in middle school, and I could compose some better shots then some of the crap they did.
I don't care about how much they cared, or how excited they were to do it. I don't give one single fuck about that 'cause it doesn't effect me one way or another. If they don't care about the right things to handle the basics they can get fired and go fuck a goat for all I care.
Make movies, shows, cartoons, comics, video games, fucking anything that feels like a show.
The ending of the Flash, oh my gosh the ending with all the universes. It's visual nonsense, none of it means anything. They just brainstormed for a bit about what would look cool and smashed some action figures together. But none of it makes any sense. They're smashing 'cause of messing with the timeline? Why the hell does the rest of the multiverse care. How would that get effected. Because it'd be biggerer and more epicerer if they made it tackle the multiverse despite the fact the logic of the multiverse is actually the absence of logic.
I know the speed force is still sort of a vague concept. And I know how time travel can create different timelines. That I get.
But Barry gets knocked into this not-Burtonverse because he's running through the speedforce and gets knocked by evil Barry. But how the fuck did evil Barry get there if he's traveling through his own timeline? It's really stupid, and really forced.
And why is the multiverse all big glowing spheres? As many mesmerizing images we have of our own universe, they thought the best visual for a mulitverse is a see-through glowing sphere? And sometimes parts of them look like a planet and other time they seemed layered with each layer being it's own multiverse?
It's not surrealist enough to be cool, it's just boring and creatively dull all while they treat it as this big blockbuster moment of the year thing. And I'm purposely not mentioning the shitty CGI, which is shitty no matter if they claim it's what the speed force looks like, 'cause guess what sunshine, it's still hideous to look at. The speed force isn't real dip shit, saying you wanted it to look bad on purpose is ridiculous.
This isn't even the only stuff that makes no sense in the movie.
Yet it had a score in the 70s for a while on Rotten Tomatoes. Why? 'Cause of humor and heart? Bitch, the movie has no soul, never mind a heart.
How is it one of the best? It's an incredibly stupid movie.
What's even the heart? The humor itself? The fact it acknowledges death is bad even if it plays out like a stupid cartoon? Having very basic and incredibly common human emotions? Doesn't mean much when every performance feels like they're confused as hell while doing it. Fuck Batman v. Superman had a lot of heart if it's just having human emotions. Or is it humor in of itself? What is this heart they're talking about?
Stop jiggling keys in front of me, and make a good movie.
Notice how I never mentioned Ezra Miller once? It's 'cause it doesn't matter if he's a terrible person, the movie is bad regardless.
And obviously this is all the tail end of this whole humor and heart thing, but people really overbear the importance of it. I think it's 'cause we're in an age where we're trying really hard to take back a lot of the cynicism that's plagued the world, which is a mighty fine cause in it's own way, but making stories that feel like they can only be viewed through either a lens of ignorance or painful cynicism because of the nature of things doesn't help.
Why am I supposed to think humor and heart by itself is good when anytime someone makes a completely fair criticism they get a mob stick down their throat because it's supposed to be fun.
A lot of things are supposed to be fun, that doesn't mean they're good. A merry-go-round that's run down and about to break might've had the intention of being fun and still be a bit of fun in a superficial way 'cause it still does run at the very least is still a piece of shit.
Humor and heart, humor and heart.
Fuck all of that.
Gimme something with a damn soul.

(to clarify: I am not that previous anon) The cannibal!will fandom is a really interesting phenomenon to me since it's being introduced to a fandom that's so very against anything 'out there' or 'nsfw' in any capacity, and since it's something that a lot of people are uncomfortable with (but I also see a lot of defense for it) it's getting a lot of push back. Stranger things is relatively gory and is still technically a horror/thriller (even if it's real silly sometimes) so to me it makes sense to lean into that as a fandom, but they also definitely have sexually charged scenes/hints of sex without making it too explicate for their audience and it's just like, basic, expected, normal sexually active human stuffs. Nothing crazy, nothing kinky. Just. Sex basically (pretty common in these types of shows esp teen thrillers, and even though it's there I appreciate they don't go overboard the way a lot of teen dramas try to play it up and that's always been weird to me, I digress) but even though it's there (just like the horror/gore/thriller aspect is canon and very real themes in the show) for some reason nsfw is still very frowned upon (I'm specifically talking about consensual relationships/aged up characters/adults content here that's still getting a ton of hate) to the point nsfw artists/writers are pushed out of the fandom as a whole, and it kinda feels like people are trying to do that in the instance of cannibal/will as well. It's really disheartening and I guess I'm a little jealous of the nice little pocket of 'freaks' /pos you've helped curate. Purity culture has destroyed curiosity and experimenting in a safe space such as fandom and it's weird af. Fandoms have been pivotal to a lot of people finding themselves and trying new things in safe spaces and I just don't understand how the Stranger Things community is this really weird staunchly anti-sex community, esp when the show itself is just. Not that? Never has been that? ISN'T that. (which I guess with how people be out here viewing Mike the way they do, what can I expect) This isn't a 'kids show' and I GET that there's a lot of kids in the fandom (but it's also definitely not just kids pushing people out of the fandom) but there's no age limit to this show and there are tons of people in different age brackets consuming this show and it's just weird how violently against curating your own content and consuming what YOU want to consume is so frowned upon. Sort of like... Just cause I'm in the Stranger Things fandom doesn't mean I want to see all the ships so I can just. Block them! People tag for a reason. There's no reason people should be dictating what can and can't be put on someone else's blogs, and people are so rude, and make uncalled for comments as if they have any right to tell you how to participate in fandom how YOU want to on YOUR OWN BLOG. It drives me crazy. This fandom is so very uppity and act like if you don't like exactly what they do then you're wrong and should feel bad and aren't allowed to be a part of the fandom at all, and I'm just tired of it. Sorry for the long rant. This isn't like... sorry if this comes off wrong. I'm not trying to attack you at all lmao I know how you feel about nsfw so sorry to come to you about it. It's just you always are so respectful and understanding that it's like, not your thing! And that it's ok to not want to view certain things! And I appreciate that a lot. Everyone is in their right to not want to consume certain content and that's totally understandable (esp when it doesn't line up with your personal beliefs or sexuality or anything like that) but you're not out here going to peoples blogs calling people shitty things for enjoying their fandom the way they want to. If people would just... Live and let live, it'd only be for the better. Probably best not to respond to this since I don't wanna start shit on your blog. I just. Wanted to rant but also say good on you for being you and keep doing it. Fuck everybody else. Fandoms are here to be creative/have fun and it's ok to share morally ambiguous content!
hi anon ! i don't have much to say about anything you said since, as an aroace guy, sexual content is something i never quite interact with. even some making out in fanfics can make me all squirmy and uncomfy ! :S
just know that i'm glad you felt comfortable enough to share your frustrations with me, and please be assured that i'll never harass or attack anyone who produces / enjoys that type of fanworks !!
it is,,, a very nuanced topic. and while i do understand why there's a lot of debate surrounding the topic and i do respect a lot of the arguments for and against the concept, i think the main takeaway from all you said —from all the conversations i've ever seen about it— is that newer fandom members need to learn to curate their online experience.
the tools are there. they're not that hard to use. if seeing something sexual is upsetting to someone, it is relatively easy to avoid it both in ao3 and in here. if someone wishes such content didn't exist, it is quite easy to mute some words and blogs and voilà, it's like it actually doesn't exist !! there's no need to make big posts condemning the morality of content tropes one doesn't enjoy in fandom spaces, and there is absolutely no reason to go attack people who do engage with such content and are just doing their thing (which is a thousand percent worse than anyone creating anything "weird" >:\ ).
live and let live, as you said anon.
and the same goes for the dark stuff i enjoy (like cannibalism and all that). if someone doesn't like it they're free to block me,,, or if they don't want to do that but still don't want to see it, they can just block out certain words or my handy "dark byler agenda" tag. it's easy, it's there, and people need to remember to utilise such tools to cater the stuff they see to their taste ~
(and if they really wish it didn't exist, they could also drown it out by supporting stuff that doesn't have such tropes via reblogging and actually engaging with things, which the fandom as a whole often forgets to do -_- )
anyway, i better cut myself off here before this gets too long x.x once again, thank you for considering me safe to open up about this !! hope you have a great day / night anon, and that this fandom treats you kindly as you enjoy it the way you've chosen to :]

Hi! Hope you’re having a good day - mines been pretty shit tbh so if the tone of this is dumb I’m sorry and it’s also very long and rambling so feel free to ignore but I’m just kind of shocked to see you defend being bdsm (aka being against the sexualisation of abuse and violence particularly against women)?
Like ‘what a man does in the privacy of his own home is his own business’ has always been peoples response to mens abuse. I just don’t understand how is it not incredibly fucked to get off on abuse? How is the physical damage done when strangling/beating/hurting someone in one of the millions of ways people (men) hurt each other (women) different when done consensually? If my boyfriend hits me during sex why is it a big deal if he does it during an argument if he didn’t even hit me as hard during the argument as he did in bed? What if he strangled me in bed (something that could kill me and is one of the biggest indicators that a man will kill you) then hitting me isn’t actually that bad in comparison considering the level of harm. What is the difference between ‘after care’ and bringing your girlfriend flowers after hitting her? How does it not create the same trauma bond? A lot of people into bdsm make it very clear that they are mentally unwell (not judging, I am too just different poor coping mechanisms) and I just don’t see how being a masochist different from self harm. How is bdsm not the biggest example of rape culture? How can you recognise the patriarchy’s influence on so many womens choices but not the choice to want to submit sexuality? How are teen girls supposed to cope with their boyfriends literally wanting to beat and rape them but all the adult sources around them are telling them thats totally normal and not dangerous they just need to consent? Because teenage girls are amazing at enforcing their boundaries and totally don’t give in to peer pressure or do things they don’t want to do for male approval. How are you meant to break up with a man who you know enjoys and is capable of beating and raping you?
TLDR : I’m just trying to understand your perspective because it seems very contradictory to your other views like being against rape, violence against women, anti racist, anti incest ect. just everything that bdsm sexualises and normalises
No you're all good, I don't mind answering lol. I'm not letting this be reblogged for obvious reasons though.
I completely agree with you in that societally speaking, BDSM is constantly used to excuse violence against women and it's really fucked up to get off on hurting others, and any man that says they're into BDSM on principle should likely be in jail.
That said, I also think that in the context of consensual romantic sexual relationships between adults, it's possible to enjoy certain things on occasion that aren't super vanilla on principle. And, I'm not really talking about hookups here, I'm talking long-term relationships with people you trust lol. I'm also not giving teenagers sex advice and I think "blowjobs are empowering" feminism that young millennials and Gen Z was raised on did more harm than good to our perceptions of healthy sexuality, but the rumors are true: I, an unmarried adult woman, enjoy sex with people I romantically like and trust as people lmao.
But to clarify, I'm really not a proponent of anything truly extreme, and I'm extremely intentional about setting boundaries and if anybody crosses them, they get blocked and banned for life. I'm generally cool with trying sex positions, but both parties always have veto privileges if something is painful or uncomfortable or simply not enjoyable. And personally, anything involving metal, spanking or hitting, choking, etc. are all total no-gos for me and I will never be swayed on that. A light hand on the neck is not remotely the same thing as asphyxiation, and to even get to that point, I need to trust the guy.
And, I would never trust let alone fuck a guy who can't get off without that stuff! My point is that it's okay to try things out, whether that's basic kink or weird sex positions that you fall out of and laugh at yourselves, not what you do every single time you have sex. If a guy whines about women being boring in bed or "vanilla," kick the man to the curb lmao.
All that said, I would never tell women they're bad people if they are against stuff I'm personally comfortable with. My point is just that sex isn't like a cut and dry thing, and it's really healthy to communicate and discuss what you like and don't like with your partner.
Does that make sense lol?

Rant here regarding preferred names and ass exfriends:
(Sorry if there's grammar errors and if I don't make sense. This is just word vomit from my jumbled thoughts.)
I have always enjoyed nicknames or "pen names" as me and my childhood best friend always imagined us as authors one day. We always thought of names to go by, and it's stuck with me as a cool thing to imagine and discover as I grew into an adult. Especially as I've made OCs over the years and discovered my gender identity.
However, people's preferred names aren't always just silly nicknames. Especially when people are transitioning or wanting to go by a name that is vastly different from their previous given one.
I've always struggled asking people to call me by my preferred name. Despite going by it in other settings for YEARS. One time I had a close friend who noticed that everyone else around me was using my preferred name and not my given one, and in response they looked me in the eyes and said "I won't call you that because I don't know you by that name. I don't know "Lonan."
And like... *slow face palm drag.* I can't and don't care enough to force people to do anything. However, it still deeply saddened me for a couple of reasons.
1. My name doesn't define me. If I change my name, that doesn't mean I am a different person. I was still me and was always me. The first and last. If I change, it's not because of a name.
2. When they said that, it showed that they never knew me at all. Gender shit aside, my name has always meant something deeper to me on a creative level that she never bothered to know. Every time I wanted to share my OCs or my creative work, the very thing that makes my blood rush and gives color to my life, she flat out disregarded or ignored that passion of mine.
3. At one point, we both went through a gender crisis at the same time and she even experimented with he/him pronouns. You can't tell me that you would experience that and then start shitting on your own best friend (and other people's) experience because it didn't work out that way in the end for YOU. It's contradictory thinking and hypocritical behavior.
Anyways I'm incredibly grateful for all my friends, family, and community members who have supported me through just being myself. And though I have used many names in my life and I may come in many forms, I am always me and always have been me. The first, last, and only.
I'm Lonan :)

The Importance of Communication
So, recently as it turns out, a few people have come forward with allegations against Neil Gaiman for sexual assault.
Now I'm not going to give my opinion on all that, his guilt or innocence in the matter is something for the courts and God to decide. As Christ said, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. But this gives me a good chance to talk about something very important even for us in the ERP (Erotic Roleplay) community, and that topic is Communication.
From the sounds of it Neil is into some kinky stuff, including some potentially rough BDSM, no kink shame here, but it sounds like the issue he's being accused of is that he didn't properly communicate his BDSM preferences with some women, and they weren't as into it as he was and thought they were. (Remember this is all allegedly, as far as I can tell he has yet to come out with a direct response to this, and without the full story none of us are in a position to judge him or his accusers.) If this is true, then the real issue that this boils down to isn't that he likes rough BDSM, it's not an issue that they aren't into kinky shit, the issue is that both parties failed to properly establish boundaries and communicate their desires and expectations with one another. This is an easy mistake, but a potentially costly one for everyone involved. And it's why you should always be open and honest with what you're into, what you're not into, and what you want out of any relationship, including less direct relationships like the one I have with all of you.
There's a reason why I have my rules up top, why I start every RP by talking to my partner directly and asking them what *exactly* their intentions are with it, what they want out of it, because if we don't communicate and one of us crosses a line, then it can ruin everything. An RP is only fun, if both people are enjoying themselves, just like in reality.
Now this also leads into the issue of consent, and I know what you guys are thinking, "No means no!". Which, yeah, unless specified otherwise, no means no, but unless you've communicated otherwise previously, it's not the only thing that means no. Literally the *ONLY* thing that means *Yes* in real life, is the word *Yes*. Everything else means no. Silence? No. A demure nod? No. Spreading their legs? No. Letting you kiss them? No. The only thing that means yes, is yes, or them directly initiating the action and asking for your consent, which if they're asking your consent to do something then they've already consented to their own actions obviously.
In short it's important that everyone understand all of the stuff above, remember that yes means yes everything else means no, people under the age of 18 CAN'T consent (honestly based on biology consent probably isn't proper until the brain finishes developing in the early twenties, but that's a whole other discussion about why the age of adult is 18 and not older), and communication is key. Absolutely NOTHING in my RPs are a good example of consent or a healthy relationship, and that's ok, the RPs I do are pure fantasy, and within RPs, video games, books, etc. it's fine. Because no one is hurt, no one is having their lives ruined. My motto is always this, "Do no harm, and expect no harm done unto you". And it's a motto I would encourage everyone else to adopt.
