Before there was an us...

I’ve detailed out the basics of my alienation and how I’ve came to this fork in the road with my own journey. I’ve hinted at bits and pieces of how my alienation and Taylor’s alienation are intertwined.

For first time spectators, Taylor is my sweet husband. We’ve been together for three years and married for one year. We share two sons, Logan and Paxton. We live in a home that we love and live an amazing life compared to the turmoil we experienced during our relationships of the past.

In the last three years we have put in many hours, lots of tears, laughter and grief, among other things to build one another up to who we both are today. I can honestly say our relationship has been put through the wringer many times. But we have stuck it out. We have one of the most open and honest relationships I’ve ever witnessed. Sometimes it can get ugly, but it always snaps right back to its original state. The individuals who used our circumstances to try to wedge a gap between us and the love we have definitely got an adverse reaction. We made the conscious choice to always put one another first and it has always benefited us this far.

To an outsider, it might seem my alienation led to Taylor’s. But contrary to popular belief, I must inform you that this man’s alienation started before I was even of legal age.

Before I proceed, I would like to state that I have my husband’s permission to post this story and the details within. This is his firsthand account of the last twelve years of his life, his journey with ongoing manipulation, physical and psychological abuse and alienation from his two children. I will not share the names of anyone involved in this that I have not had permission to do so.  

Taylor got into a serious relationship when he was at the young age of nineteen years old. His partner at this time had a child that was an infant. This infant had a man, who was under the impression he was his father, in and out of his life from the time he was born until near the age of one year old. As the relationship progressed Taylor and his partner moved in together. The child was left behind to live with its grandmother until after constant encouragement and annoyance from a family member probed his partner to bring the child to live with them in their home. Shortly after, the child’s assumed father notified Taylor’s partner that he had a DNA test performed on the child and that he was in fact not the biological father. This left Taylor as the only father figure in the child’s life, then and now.

Moving forward Taylor learned he was soon to be deployed through the National Guard. Taylor and his partner made the decision to quickly get married. This is a regret he lives with to this day.

Roughly a month after getting married, Taylor found out that his partner had chosen to cheat on him. At this time, they were residing in the hometown of one of Taylor’s parents, three hours from Taylor’s hometown and the county the marriage occurred in. Taylor inquired about annulling the marriage. He was told that he would have to file in the county the marriage took place. As Taylor was the sole financial provider for their small family, he couldn’t take time off from work or afford to go file. He had to make the decision to grin and bear it and continued on with the “marriage.”

Now Taylor receives orders to go on his deployment with the National Guard to Iraq. His partner falls pregnant months before he is set to leave. They proceed on with the pregnancy and his first biological child, to his knowledge, is born while he is on his tour.

A normal person has an expectation for life. You grow up, get married, have children and have a happy ending. That was all nothing less that false for Taylor.

He returned home from his tour hopeful that the new child and a fresh start would be what this marriage needed to thrive and survive. It appeared the new baby and the new ownership his spouse believed she had over him was almost too much for him to bare.

This behavior started a viscous cycle. Breaking up, making up, Taylor being physically assaulted regularly. Taylor constantly being kicked out of their home, because why should someone paying all the bills have the right to live in a home that they’re footing the bill for? This was also the first taste of Taylor’s alienation from his children.

Taylor was not the biological father of his partner’s oldest child. So, when it came his time to have the children, he was only allowed access to his biological child and told he had no rights to his other child he had been raising since infancy. That said child did not have a father and it wasn’t his business to worry about.

If anyone reading this knows Taylor, they know his heart. It is bigger, more loving and more selfless than most others, especially when it comes to the children in his life. Things like this broke him emotionally. If there’s anything you can do to hurt that man, it’s taking away access to his children.

Once again, the marriage and relationship were “reconciled” everything was going smoothly again...or so he thought.

Taylor was set to go on an important training with his unit in the National Guard. Days before he was set to leave his partner comes home from a night out at the bar and lets him know that there’s someone else in the picture and it’s time for a divorce. Taylor collects himself and his things and proceeds on to training, not knowing what events are going to occur next.

Another man was moved into the home he shared with his partner. Taylor is forced to get his own place. And that was fine with him. But it could never be that easy, right?

Taylor is denied access to his children on and off at the needs and wants basis of his partner. I need money, you can see the children. I want to go to the lake all weekend, here it’s your turn to have the children. And of course when things were really amplified he was once again denied access to his non-biological child because he had to legal rights to the child, yet he was helping pay for his housing, clothing, daycare and any other expenses that seemed to constantly be occurring.

But not only was the alienation occurring, there were also various forms of psychological and emotional abuse going on. To be cut and dry here, they were still continuing on a sexual and emotional relationship behind the back of his partners new beau.

His partner used this as a warfare between the two men. A sick pleasure was found in watching the two men fight and pawn over said partner.

At this point in time Taylor felt forced to proceed with the adoption of his non-biological child. He had attempted to adopt the child before but was told that the actual biological father needed to be found. After nearly four DNA tests, that’s a direct number from Taylor, the child’s father was found. With the help of his partner, they began and eventually finished the child’s adoption and he now had legal rights to the fatherless child he had been raising since before he was a year old.  

To Taylor’s surprise he was notified by his partner that once again a pregnancy had occurred, and he was one hundred percent the father of the unborn child. He was even told that there was not one baby, but two, twins. Taylor was overwhelmed, but happy that he was having another biological child or children.

Naturally, conditioned to the constant abuse, Taylor assumed that the marriage was going to reconcile, and it was time for that portion of the cycle to restart.

Shortly after the news of the pregnancy Taylor was contacted by his partner’s now ex-boyfriend and informed that he was positive the baby was in fact his and he wanted a DNA test performed on the baby, in utero.

The DNA test was performed, and Taylor was not the father of this child.

So, the scheme to convince Taylor the product of this extramarital affair was in fact his failed. That didn’t stop his partner and it didn’t stop the cycle.

He endured months more of psychological abuse, being alienated from his children and his bank account being sucked dry by the constant need of his partner for money.

He caved and once again the marriage was reconciled.

Yes, we’re up to near five reconciliations at this point.

Taylor had met at least two good girls that would have made excellent long-term girlfriends, eventually wives and stepmothers, at this point. And he ruined each and every one of these relationships by participating in this cycle and abuse he was trapped in. (This point will be very important when it comes to part two of his story.)

Taylor was convinced that the biological father of the new baby was going to be cut out of the picture, and he would assume responsibility of the child. He was even promised that he was going to be allowed on the birth certificate and it would be like it never happened.

But that was not the case. Why? Because this new baby that was coming into Taylor’s life had an excellent biological father, in fact. A man who has been there, stepped up and care and loved for that child since the day it was born.

If there’s anything to say for Taylor’s now ex-partner, two great men were chosen to reproduce with. And I’ll spare you the fluff details and let you know after a few years Taylor and this man became good friends and they co-parented said child better than I’ve ever seen a man and a woman co-parent a child. So good job guys, if either of y'all are ever reading this.

The child was born. Taylor stood on standby while his partner participated in all the normal father and mother hoopla stuff at the hospital with their new baby. He even stood by as they took professional newborn photographs together with the baby.

If your heart hasn’t broken for him by now, then you probably don’t have one. It’s hard for me to write this myself, hence why it’s taken me so long.

And sadly, the cycle continued. Only amplified now. In my opinion, and Taylor’s, his partner had a lot of anger over choices that had been made. This anger was constantly projected on to Taylor. His anger was projected back on to his partner. There weren’t happy days anymore, there wasn’t love. The relationship was existing for the sole purpose of the children and not being able to handle finances on their own.

There was more cheating, lying, money missing and spent without regard to bills or the needs of the children.

While all of this was going on Taylor had taken on the role of a second dad to the new baby in his home. The baby was taught to call him daddy. He was meeting all the financial, physical and emotional needs of the child while in his care. He loved the child as his own and enjoyed watching it grow, like it was his own.

Taylor was called up for another deployment, Afghanistan this time. That’s when he made a conscious decision to sit down with his partner and have a serious talk. They both spoke their peace and he left on the note that the emotional and physical side of the marriage was over, that he was only hanging on so that he could actively be in his children’s lives.

Why would Taylor have this mindset? That the only reason he was able to be in his children’s lives was because he was continuing on the marriage and essentially the financial support of his partner? Because he was already experiencing parental alienation, and he just didn’t realize it.

Taylor never says it, but I know this was his hardest deployment he went on. I believe Taylor really did love his partner, and some part of him did value that marriage certificate they both signed. But he also knew he wasn’t valued and that things were never going to change.

During the tour he was constantly notified by family and friends that his partner was never in possession of their children, his vehicle was repossessed, all of his military pay was being spent at the casino, bars, hair and nail salons and shopping. Bills weren’t getting paid, and most of all he knew his children weren’t being taken care of. He was watching his bank account transactions for thousands of miles away and just hoping whoever was in possession of his children were keeping them safe.

I’m going to stop writing here. Mainly because sitting here writing out the basic details of what’s happened to my husband hurts my heart more than my own story hurts me. This is just a small portion of the alienation and manipulation that have went on over the last twelve years. On Taylor’s end, at this point there is no end in sight as to when this will end.

In part two we will visit the end of Taylor’s marriage and the point in time that we meet and our stories and alienation journey’s merge.

Second Chances

The receptionist barely glanced at him before waving him into a seat. Kristoff put his briefcase on his knees and tried not to drum his fingers on it. He didn't even, especially, need this job; the one he had was fine, but this would be a step up. It was worth a punt, anyway. After a few minutes the door into the main office opened and a woman came through with a clipboard. She didn't look up, but rummaged in the papers while keeping the door open with her foot. "Hang on," she said, "Just a sec - okay. Kristoff Bjorgman!"

Then she did a double-take so extreme it was almost comical, let the door slam behind her, and looked up. Kristoff stood and met her eye. "Hi," he said. "Anna."

He’d recognised her as soon as she opened the door. It had been so long, but she was still the same. Same long red hair trying to escape the clip holding it up. Same big blue eyes that showed her every emotion. Same petite figure, though now it was more mature, more womanly.

For a moment they both just stared. Then Anna shook herself and said "Oh my goodness, Kristoff! I didn't read the names before I came through, I'm just bringing people through, I'm not doing the interviewing or anything, Karen would do it but she's poorly - gosh, it's been so long! How are you?" "I'm good, I'm really good. It's great to see you." Another long moment, then Anna shook herself again. "Well, we'd better go in - sorry - I'm not trying to make you late - oh, fudge -" now she realised that the door had shut behind her and was fishing an ID card on a lanyard out of the front of her blouse. "This way," she said once she'd managed to get the door open. "Follow meeee - and through here. OK. Paul," she said to the man in the office, who was now standing with hand extended. "This is Kristoff Bjorgman, Kris this is Paul Bunce, the IT Director. OK!" She beamed at them, then remembered she was supposed to leave, and backed out, hissing "Good luck!" at Kristoff as she went.

Anna Rendell. He hadn't even known she was in the country, though there was no reason why she wouldn't have been. Fancy running into her today, and on the way into a job interview; life was weird. It must be - could it be ten years? Yes, almost. Anna Rendell. Fuck.

He'd been nineteen. He'd left school with no real plan in mind, and ended up doing various jobs until he'd gone back to college at twenty. That summer he'd been a gardener at the posh girls’ school just outside town, and spent most of it mowing lawns and trimming hedges.

The place had been mostly deserted over the summer; it was a boarding school but most of the girls were at home for the long holiday. A few remained, however, and one of them was Anna, who had recently turned eighteen and was staying at the school until she left for university abroad in the autumn.

He'd noticed her before, always with a crowd of friends, and in her uniform she'd looked younger. Come the end of term she switched to jeans or a sundress, her hair down, and with no one else to talk to she chatted to all the staff and helped with any job going. No one at the school seemed to care where she went or what time she got back.

One long hot afternoon, while he was attempting to tame the edges of the nature garden behind the science labs, she brought him a cold drink and sat with him in the shade as he drank it. He remembers the heat, the bees buzzing in the wildflowers, the way each one of her toenails was painted a different colour (‘I couldn't decide,’ she said lazily when he pointed it out).

He'd wanted to kiss her but he hadn't dared, then after she left he'd spent the rest of the afternoon kicking himself for not making a move. But when he got back to the gardeners’ shed to put away his tools, he found her waiting for him.

Memory was a funny thing. When he looked back at it, that summer was just sunshine, Anna's smile and the taste of her lips, listening to her talk while she made daisy chains, the scent of cut grass. If there was rain he's forgotten it, let it fade to a drum on the roof of his car, parked in the lane behind the school. Distant thunder as he kissed her goodnight outside her dormitory, lingering in the dusk. But summer doesn't last forever.

The problem with having a magical summer romance at eighteen was that it was impossible not to hold it up as the standard against which all future men should be judged. Over the years it had become a running joke with Anna’s friends - “Kristoff would never treat me like this.” “Kristoff would never do that.” Part of her had almost forgotten that he was a real person, a grown man out in the world living his life.

He probably had all sorts of bad qualities and annoying habits that just hadn't had time to make themselves known. Anna herself felt like a completely different person to the girl she'd been then, carefree and young and falling in love for the first time. She had Harry now, anyway. He was the most important thing.

Kristoff would never have cheated on her, though. He would never have slept with her then stopped answering her texts, or so she told herself. He would certainly have never broken up with her at the sight of a positive pregnancy test. Maybe she needed him, as that fantasy of the perfect man, while all the others let her down.

But of all the places she'd expected to run into him now she was back in town, in a suit interviewing for the systems analyst position was not one of them. She'd sneaked a look at his CV once she was back at her desk; he'd gone back to college, his work history since then was exemplary. He’d done well for himself, and that made her happy. That was how she explained her happiness, anyway.

Afterwards Kristoff couldn't even remember how the interview went, though he didn't think he stuffed it up too much. The interviewer was pleasant, Kristoff managed to answer all the questions, then he was ushered out and back through reception. He didn't see Anna on the way out.

There was one thing he was glad rarely came up in job interviews - his biggest regret. “I never had sex with Anna Rendell” wasn’t exactly interview-friendly, but it was the honest answer. He hadn’t, and all the reasons he’d had at the time now seemed ridiculous. Maybe then it would all have ended up differently. Maybe then, his last memory of her would be a sweet, happy one, rather than the mess it had turned into. Or maybe not.

The job as gardener didn't pay much but it came with the use of a tiny cottage on the edge of the grounds. In early September, two days before Anna was to leave for her expensive private university in Paris, she had turned up on his doorstep at 9pm and persuaded him to go out with her to sit on the hill and watch the stars come out.

He’d known the date of her departure for weeks. They hadn’t talked about it. What good would it do? Nothing could be changed. When she wasn’t there, Kristoff would tell himself it was just a bit of fun, anyway, nothing serious, that he’d miss her for a little while and then he’d get over it. When she was there, he tried not to think about it at all.

So he’d gone with Anna, up to their favourite place on the hill - only a few minutes away, but outside the school grounds and well away from where anyone might come walking. Anna had a blanket, which she laid out so they could sit and talk, or rather sit and kiss.

When did the stars come out? He didn’t know, because all he was looking at was Anna, all he was thinking about was her lips on his, the scent of the skin behind her ear, the softness of her skin. She pulled him down to lie next to her, and pressed up against him, and ran her hands over his neck and shoulders.

And then she had produced a condom out of her bag, and told him she was ready and she wanted him to be her first. And he’d refused.

He was angry with her, he knows that now. He was angry with her for leaving, but he knew he shouldn’t be, so he felt guilty, and that made him angrier. He couldn’t ask her not to go. He couldn’t go with her. All he could do was lose her.

And maybe he felt that he was being the mature one, the sensible one. Noble. What rubbish. Or, maybe he was scared of not being able to give her the magical night she wanted, though even if it had been awkward and fumbling it would still have been better than what actually happened.

Anna hadn’t believed his refusal at first. She’d been puzzled, then she’d been annoyed, then finally she’d been upset. And he hadn’t known what to say, what he could say, because the only words he could think of were don’t go and he couldn’t say that, he had no right to say that.

She’d cried, and she’d left, and he hadn't sought her out before she'd left the country, mainly out of embarrassment. Two days of cowardice had led to ten years of regrets.

Anna arrived a couple of minutes after Kristoff did. She was pushing a pushchair with a little blond toddler in it, and when she said “Hi!” her expression was defensive.

“Hi,” Kristoff said. “It’s good to see you. Who’s your friend?”

“This is my little boy. Harry. He’s nearly two. Is it okay if we go for a walk down to the swings instead of getting coffee? He’s having one of those days where he doesn’t like to sit still.”

“I wonder where he gets that from. No problem.”

They set off towards the park. Harry started trying to undo the straps on the pushchair, then saying “Mumma. Mumma. Mumma,” over and over with increasing volume.

“He wants to get out,” Anna said. “He likes to walk but he’s pretty slow.”

“Are we in a hurry?”

“I guess not.” Anna knelt down by the pushchair and unclipped the little boy; he popped straight out of his seat and started striding confidently off into the distance.

“Before you ask,” Anna said once Harry had been retrieved, “his dad’s not around. He’s never met him, actually. He dumped me when I said I was keeping the baby.”

“Wow. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. We’re fine just us, aren’t we, H?” She squeezed Harry’s hand and he looked up at her and grinned.

“How long have you been back in Arundel?” Kristoff asked her.

“A couple of months. I stayed in France a couple of years after I graduated, then moved to London for a job, then after I broke up with Harry’s dad I moved in with my sister for a bit, she’s in London. She’s a lawyer. Then, I don’t know. Arundel still felt like home, you know? I liked growing up here, I wanted Harry to have that. So I got the HR job. It’s only a couple of days a week but I thought I could cope with that, I hadn’t worked since before his nibs was born.”

“I’m surprised we haven’t run into each other before now.”

“Why, do you hang around the Children’s Centre much? I hope not,” Anna said, and laughed. “Oh,” she said. “I haven’t asked about you, how rude! Are you married, do you have any children?”

“No and no. I’m single. Had a couple of girlfriends, didn’t work out.”

“I’m sorry. What made you go into IT?”

They’d reached the park. Kristoff couldn’t remember exactly where the playground was, but Harry clearly knew, and pulled his mother along by one hand, while she tried to steer the pushchair with the other. Kristoff helped her with the gate.

“After you left,” he said, “I couldn’t stick working at the school any more. I don’t know. So I quit and ended up temping in an office, and I found out I was good with the computers, so the next September I went back to college. And here I am.”

“Good for you.”

Kristoff shrugged. “Had to get a proper job some time.”

“I’m sorry you didn’t get the systems analyst job.”

“I didn’t?”

“No, I - oh, fudge. No. Sorry. They didn’t tell people yet.” She sighed. “I am terrible at working in HR.”

“It’s okay. I didn’t think I would, where I am is fine. Just thought I’d give it a go.”

“I’m glad you did,” Anna said, smiling at him.

They reached the playground and Anna parked the pushchair just off the path.

“You know,” she said as she watched Harry scramble up the steps of the little slide, “We never actually broke up, did we? I realised that. So I’m sorry, but I did cheat on you a bit in Paris. And after that.”

She said it quite calmly, even cheerfully.

“To be fair,” Kristoff said, “I haven’t been completely faithful, either.”

Anna laughed. “I’m glad, that would have been pretty lonely. Actually, come to think of it, did we ever get together? Like, officially, have the boyfriend/girlfriend talk?”

“I think we just started kissing a lot.”

“Yeah, that’s how I remember it. Oh, no, wait, darling -”

She caught Harry by the hood of his coat just as he reached the gate through to the duck pond, which had been left ajar. “We’ll feed the ducks another day, okay? Do you want to go on the swings?”

“Swings!”

“Okay, poppet, come on,” and she bore him off.

“I’m sorry,” she said once Harry was safely trapped in the baby swing kicking his little legs, “for springing him on you like that. I just, didn’t know how to say it.”

“It’s fine, Anna.”

“And I’d’ve had to bring him anyway, of course.”

“Neither of us has been frozen for ten years. I own more than one suit and a briefcase, you’re a mum, life has kept happening because that’s what life does.”

“True.” She gave the swing another big push and Harry squealed.

“And I’m the one who should be sorry,” Kristoff said.

“What for?”

“For - back then. How it all ended.”

Anna shrugged. “It’s okay. It was a long time ago.”

“Can I ask a question?”

“Sure.”

“Where, at a private girls’ school in the middle of nowhere, did you get a condom?”

Anna laughed. “The school nurse gave me some. When she saw me hanging around with you. She said, you’re eighteen and I can’t stop you doing what you like but if you get pregnant it’ll look bad for the school. And I was glad because it was something I was worrying about but I didn’t think I could ask her. Not that it mattered in the end.”

“You know,” Kristoff said, “I thought I was being so mature and respectful, turning you down, but I wasn’t. I was being a massive fu- flipping idiot. I have spent YEARS kicking myself over it.”

Anna looked him up and down. “So when did you?” she said.

“When did I what?”

“You know. Lose the old V-plates.”

“Oh - second year of college. I had a girlfriend who was studying to be a teacher.”

“How wholesome.”

“I guess.”

Anna pushed the swing. “I’m admiring how you’re not asking me,” she said.

“Maybe I was just assuming it was some sophisticated Frenchman -”

Anna laughed again. “No, actually. Another foreign student. American. American guys are so forward, you know? It can be a bit - disarming. Anyway, then he broke up with me, so.” She hesitated. “I’d rather it had been you,” she said.

“Same.”

They stood in silence for a moment, Anna giving the swing a half-hearted push every now and again. Then she looked at him and said, “God, this is so weird just to be standing here talking to you! As if you were, like, a real person.”

Kristoff had to laugh at that, even though he knew exactly what she meant. “Look at us,” he said, “Both real people who have spent ten years having lives and experiences.”

“I know, right? So weird. Were you in love with me?” she added, idly.

“Oh, hopelessly.”

“That’s what I thought.” She grinned at him.

Kristoff took a deep breath. “Are you seeing anyone? At the moment?”

“I have been single,” Anna said calmly, “Ever since Mr Anna-I-Don’t-Think-I’m-Ready-For-This took to his heels, never to be seen again.”

“Never?”

“Nope. When I moved I wrote to him, to let him know where we were, but I didn’t get a reply. Maybe he’d moved, I don’t know. And obviously I wrote when Harry was born, but he didn’t reply to that, either. Well, maybe it’s better he stay away altogether, I don’t know.”

Harry had got bored with swinging and was trying to climb out of the seat while it was still in motion. Anna stopped it and he clung to her as she lifted him out.

“I’ve never understood men like that,” Kristoff said. Anna shrugged. She tried to put Harry down but he wrapped his arms around her neck and kissed her on the cheek. “Mummy loves you,” she told him, kissing the top of his head, “And Mummy’s going to bring you up to respect women! Yes she is!”

“Anyway,” she said, turning back to Kristoff, “Weren’t you about to ask me out?”

“I - yes? Is that bad?”

Anna tilted her head to one side, moving Harry to her hip. “As long as you’re not just trying to make up for - past regrets.”

“No, of course not. Look, I know we’ve both changed a lot since then, but -”

“But?”

“- you’re still the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. And I didn’t think I’d get a second chance to tell you even that much.”

Anna bit her lip over a smile. “You never used to say things like that.”

“Just used to think them, then.”

She looked away, still trying not to smile, and put down her squirming son. “Alright. Yes. Okay. Oh, no, wait -” and she was chasing after Harry across the park.

He said for the past 6 months, each time he went in to make a payment, the girl HIS was already paid. Realizing what had happened. They were applying my payments to his automobile. I was furious. I notified the agent who initially did not want to accept blame, but since the payments were automatic and my account number was on each payment they took, they were responsible. The error was compounded by the fact that the cancellation notice went to HIS address (how dumb was that!) So I had no way of knowing that I was cancelled. I was without a car for 2 weeks and lost my job. After much haggling and many sleepless nights of wondering what to do without a job or a car, the insurance company finally admitted blame, paid the impound fees of $1,250.00. The agent also said they would handle the 2 tickets totaling 1K. FAST FORWARD TO 2010 in my state, the county did a scofflaw sweep and I was summoned to court with over 5 thousand other delinquent drivers to address unpaid tickets. The order was come to court by April 30th or be arrested. Realizing this had to be a mistake, but fearful of the law, I stood in line for over 5 hours in blazing heat, then sat in court another 5 hours waiting for my day in court. I was immediately threatened with arrest because the 2 tickets were not paid. Up to that moment, I had no idea the insurance company had not paid the 2 tickets. This time, not only was my insurance and registration cancelled, my license was suspended due to the age of the infraction (5 years). In front of the judge, I called the agents' office only to be told by the secretary that they had no intention to pay the ticket. Paying to get the car out of impound was enough. When the judge heard this she was shocked and let me off with a promise to pay in 5 days. She made me promise not to drive. With no way to get home but drive, I took a chance, and was pulled over. The officer informed me that due to the vast number of outstanding cases, tags bearing our county name would be targeted for a while (talk about a police state!). I showed him my documents from the court and headed home. This is a nightmare. Would I have a case if I filed suit against my insurance company for failing in their fiduciary responsibility to a 16 year client in good standing? I am currently working a temporary job away from home in another state not my permanent residence (I am living there for the term of the employment). While there I bought another vehicle and registered it in that state and when insuring it moved my other car to the policy not realizing this could cause a problem. Now on my first vehicle, which was registered in my home state, the home state has refused to renew the registration because it carries out of state insurance. However, I also don't own the first vehicle, it is owned by my parents who are a resident of my home state, I just use it and pay the insurance. So unless I am missing anything, It looks like I am basically going to be forced to register that vehicle in a state where I do not have residence or cancel my insurance policy and get insurance for only that vehicle through a provider in my home state. I'm confused because they let me renew last year even though I had the out of state insurance, but I had switched during that year so maybe they considered me part-time or something. I would like to avoid changing any state registrations for the time being, because this process is expensive and complicated between the two states in question. Ok first order of business I know how the whole health care issue is being made into this big complicated monstrosity. I would llike to get people's input on this and maybe some insight into better understanding a way ahead. First let me say that my question is not based on politics I'm not representing democrats or republicans as a matter of fact politics and money is what is frustrating me with this entire health care issue. I hear about all of this debating and I want to ask what is the real issue that everyone cares about correct me if I am wrong but I think it is access to dependable and reputable healthcare. The next issue I have, Is it wise to put health care interests in the hands of for profit enterprise. Now this is not an attack on health insurance companies but it is a question to the average person. I have read countless stories of people who thought they had good insurance for years all of the sudden they get sick the insurance pays the lowest possible cost and then cancels their coverage. Or here is another example, former health insurance employees tell of how draconian the companies are that they have worked for when it comes paying for coverage they would rather cancel people's policy. I am forced to wonder how long will it be before doctor's and nurses will be required to have an M.B.A. as a prerequisite for practicing medicine. I am all for free enterprise but something just does not sound right when you have an entire industry based on the soaring cost of healthcare and people's inability to pay for it. Seems that you are at the mercy of your insurance company at the time that you need them most. It seems that access to healthcare has been debated and put on the back burner for over 50 years combined with the fact that the people making the decisions regarding healthcare access rarely have to concern themselves with access to healthcare for themselves or their families, I'm just wondering how much longer is this cycle going to continue before something tangible gets done. I'm not saying healthcare should be totally free. I'm not saying that healthcare costs should destroy the middle class either. I definitely think that a for profit company priorities are to make a profit and answer to stockholders where does the patient come in on this equation. Hello, I'm a genuine person, who has had a bad past with motoring, 3 - 4 years ago i was a maniac, a complete ideot who defied everything that was said and told to him( been caught for no insurance and disqual driving and driving without a license x15 times but after relizing what a ideot i was i decided to go the straight and narrow, so i got my license back last august with 6 points on it, they aint due to clear till next year although they are dated 2009?! any way, i own a decent 09 bike, that isnt cheap and i was what i thought fully insured (otherwise i wouldnt have driven and risked loosing my bike) anyways i got pulled over last night for speeding, and it came apparant i wasnt insured :O i rang my girlfriend and got her to produce the paperwork, they couldnt get hold of my insurance company due to they were shut at 10pm at night :S so they decided to seize my bike!:@ they give me a gypsys warning about the speeding, and refered me to court for no insurance no L plates, my arguement is, after going home and checking my bank, i have been driving for 3 months uninsured ( i really had no intention of doing so) i had thought that when my giro money lands into my bank acc swintons took it out the same day so i never defaulted, but this is not the case and i have defaulted. so i have insured my bike immediately after relizing what has happened and im going to get it out the impound in a minute (15 hours later after being seized) but the genuine thing is i've always had a rear L plate till 4 days ago when it snapped and i was waiting on my giro to come to purchase a new one, however i know that is no excuse but its the truth! what can i say to the judge to not get myself banned! the L plates situation is difficult because there like1 to buy but i have 0 pence! and i run my bike of scrap yard petrol ( filtered runs sweet) and i will take full admission to only ever having one L plate on my bike and explain my situation but what can i say or do so i dont get banned!? im really stuck with this one, it really is annoying as i had no intention to drive without insurance?! thanks guys""

Insurance not paying a claim!?

Boy this is a good one & I don't know what to do Next! I went with the Lizard insurance even though they are Snakes and don't want to pay for any Claims! It started in 2010 with my truck, I took it to where they told me and they only paid for cosmetic damage even though there was a lot more including my steering was so bad I had to stop driving it. I wanted to take it to a shop that I had my truck lowered which because of we're I lived and the shop was I couldn't drive it, 65 miles. I had AAA tow it to my new house and from there after 2 years of not driving my truck they agreed to have it towed 7 miles to the shop. Well I told the claims adjuster what was wrong, he told me I needed to write a list and drop it off at the shop so I just got my Chopper back from the shop and went down to where my truck was a wrote a list of what I thought was wrong. Here is where the first of my troubles started, on the way home I am riding on the freeway and a truck to the right of me had a blow out and a Giant tire flew right in front of me, I couldn't do anything other than to run it over. It happened so fast, I hit it and made a brown spot in my shorts, jk. I then noticed smoke coming from my Chopper, it was Bad so I pulled over and noticed that my tail light was knocked off and caused some damage and the bold that holds my tail light on came off and rubbed on my new Avon 250 tire and Melted the side wall. I was able to ride home and once I saw all the damage I knew it was a problem. I called the Lizard and made a claim. The claims adjuster called me and said he will be out that Saturday, so saturday came and I never heard from him, I had his number and left a message, so this went on until Thursday and I called the lizard again and they transferred me to the AH boss and I left him a voicemail. Well I didn't hear from him as a few more days went by so Called back and got his boss's boss. The next day I got a nasty voicemail from the claims adjuster bitching at me. I called customer service and told them he went off on me and they can hear my voicemail too but no one listened to me. So I was told to call his boss, I said then I don't want this claims adjuster to come out, I don't want to speak to him or have anything to do with him. They were so sorry and said they totally understand and later that day the big boss called and I told him I hadn't heard from the adjuster other than a nasty voicemail and I want someone else to come out and not him. The boss said I understand and he will take care of it. So two days later the rude claims adjuster showed up at my house to take care of the claim, I was shocked it was the AHole I didn't want to come out but his bosses boss told him he better get out there and take care of this. Well once he was there, he wasn't as nice as he had been and couldn't be more rude than he was. I told him what had happened and the Damage, all he said was Prove it, Prove it, Over and over with everything I showed him. It caused major damage to my shocks and front forks, he laughed and said they are designed to roll over things and that it couldn't happen from hitting a tire in the road, well it can because that's exactly what happened. He was such a AHole I said, why did you even come out, did you just come here to be a @ss Hole or what!! He didn't say a word and just left. They paid out just a little for damages to the paint, tail light and the tire. The tired was new and cost 500 but they paid me 100 bucks for it. Mean while my truck is at the shop still to get looked over for the damage and they didn't pay a dime and the worst part was when I got the truck back from being towed, I started after the tow truck drive let it down and it sounded funny, then I smelt burning plastic so I opened the hood and my entire air intake system was gone!!! The burning was th vacuum hoses laying on the headers. I called the shop where my truck was and they said they are not sure what's going on but to call back. Well they are no longer in business and I lost all that so I called and opened a claim, now they are investigating me over this. So I have damage from 2010 that has never been fixed, my bike isn't right and someone had stolen my Volant cold air intake that's not being taken care of. What do I do? This is BS, I don't deserve this from my insurance Company and for them to treat me like they have, not pay out the claims. I needed my truck smoged Dec 31st so because all the parts to have it smogged weren't there I couldn't have it down and I have a ton of late fees with the DMV in California. My Volant is smog legal, I have the Ca numbers for it but it doesn't matter, I am getting the run around like no tomorrow. I will Drop GIECO and go with Farmers but not until my truck and bike are fixed. I have called everyone I could at Geico and no help!""

Well money is tight right now and I'm shopping around for a new auto insurance. I live in CA and so far the cheapest one I've found is Mercury insurance. I was playing around with the different personal criteria having fun wondering if having a different profession or having a college degree would change the premium.
