hi, not monsta x related but I went through your tumblr and it has converted me to become a tvxq/max changmin stan lol. I guess I am going back to the roots of kpop. Anyway this is a pointless ask it's all your fault (i'm just kidding, it's a good thing). I feel like 2nd generation kpop was much simpler although there were still the sasengs?? hope your day is going well

Hey, with the re-recorded versions of all the songs. there's a lot of ot2/ot5/ot3 discourse, especially on twitter. I kinda hate it :/ What are your feels?

before u read this pls 1. read nothing or read the whole thing and 2. note that these are MY thoughts. you are welcome to disagree but not to argue. we can rationally talk things out, please. let’s be adults like the fandom claims to be. 

I hate it too because, the fact of the matter is, dbsk/dong bang shin ki/tvxq/tohoshinki = yunho and changmin. i’m not saying this as a biased fan. i’m saying this in the most objective manner. 

in fact, i’ve been really annoyed about this whole thing for a long time, and thank you for sending this ask bc i’m gonna rant a lil bit. 

1. i don’t understand why we have to be like db5k or tv2xq like ??? dbsk/tvxq are yunho and changmin from 2010 onwards, and were yunho, changmin, jaejoong, yoochun and junsu until 2010. i don’t see people saying snsd8 or 2pm7 or idk, whatever. like, i feel that calling them db5k or tv2xq is a clear ignorance of their history, or present. like, they were 5, they are 2. that’s a fact and who cares about fans who think they’re five now? just call them tvxq/dbsk lol

2. jyj stans - firstly, im excluding yoochun. secondly, idk why fans go jyj is tvxq like… literally, you’re not respecting their wishes. YES, they didn’t want to leave dbsk, they only wanted to leave sm. but fact is that they said that in 2011. it’s 2017 now. they really aren’t dbsk anymore. 

3. ot2 stans - who refuse to acknowledge they were 5. you are disrespecting yunho and changmin’s past. i think fans who didn’t stan them when they were 5 don’t realise how much homin loved yoochun, junsu and jaejoong. like, seriously. the bromance was real. and yeah they’re two now and yeah you can choose to ignore their past but i feel that there’s a fine line between ignoring their past and downright hating it. i see so many people be like, “ugh, whatever db5k” but like… have u seen all their variety shows? heard all their songs? their accomplishments as two today are so much more significant and meaningful when their past is taken into account. our personal histories make us who we are, just like dbsk today is built because of who they were and what they went through. idk, it just irks me when fans just… ignore who they were lol ok anw moving on

3. ot5 stans - girls (and guys), you’re really just breaking your own hearts. it’ll be better for your own hearts to stan them separately. they’re really are never getting back together (ugh, high five if taylor swift’s song popped up in your head). and if you already do, good on you. (i used to be one of u, but it’s tiring. ot2 fans hate you for liking jyj separately. jyj fans hate you for still supporting dbsk as 2. ot5 stans who think they’re only superior as 5 hate you because how dare you support their split and their careers which are going to progress no matter what you think). 

anyways, the fandom is messy, it gets tiring, i stay away from drama and pretty much follow people for updates only.
