I think I might rebind my sketchpads I bought on Etsy. I know the seller had gotten rid of them because the paper quality is not very good, but I still want to keep the covers since she had actually discontinued a lot of the designs even as notebooks. Even if I rebind them as new notebooks, I’d be happy. I dunno, I don’t even know where I’d start.
#shut it void#I do know how to bind ring books and could probably use work’s bind press#but it’s more the matter of finding the right size paper#and making sure it’s actual good paper and not this smooth shit that the manufacturer chose to put in them#they’re ok for pens which is why I’m leaning towards rebinding them as notebooks#but even then the ink smudges horribly if you don’t let it dry before turning the page#tag edit: I also know it’s the manu’s paper and not her choice because all the paper styles are like that#even the tinted papers are super smooth#unfortunately pencils gouge the paper and erasers eat the ever loving shit out of it#but yeah I think I know who manu is so if I make notebooks I’m not using them

Lorenzo Meets Manuel and Scar | Years & Years
Lorenzo took the key from the ignition as he pulled up in front of a house. He looked at Theresa's text, ensuring that he was at the right place. He took a deep breath as he confirmed that he was indeed at the right house before he climbed out of the car. He was nervous as hell. They hadn't really talked about what happened and Lorenzo wasn't even sure if he wanted to address it or pretend like t hadn't happened. Time would only tell, though. He walked up to the front door and rang the doorbell, letting out a small nervous breath as he stuffed his hands into his pockets.
Theresa was nervous. Nervous that he would see where she loved, that he would see what she did after school. That they just weren’t the same at all, they were complete opposites and she was extremely nervous despite how much she wanted him to know the real her. Hearing the doorbell, she moved too fast to get to it before Manuel did and dropped her phone and notebook on the floor in the process only to earn a raised eyebrow from her brother. “/Chill out, Theresa. I’m not gonna scare him off, jeez/“ he shook his head at her and Theresa just cleared her throat and moved to finally open the door. “Hey, uh...come on in. That’s my brother Manuel. Manu, this is my friend Lorenzo.”
Lorenzo could hear some commotion inside, but didn't have too much time to think about it before the door swung open. He smiled a bit as his eyes settled on Theresa, nodding a little as he stepped into the house. It was definitely small, but Lorenzo didn't mind it. He thought it was cozy, if anything. Lorenzo's eyes moved to a guy who was probably a few years older than him and he flashed him a small smile. "Hey. It's nice to meet you," he greeted him easily before noticing the brunette sitting next to him who flashed him a smile. "And it's good to see you again. Scarlett, right?" Lorenzo asked gently, hoping that he was right. Scar nodded easily, grinning widely at the youngest Windsor. "Yep, that's me. It's good to see you, too." Scar told Lo politely before grinning widely over at Theresa.
“Hey. Cool name.” Manuel murmured locking his eyes on Lorenzo as he greeted everyone and arching an eyebrow. Theresa rolled her eyes at his brother and grabbed Lorenzo’s arm gently to reassure him and blushing when Scarlett looked at her. “So, we are all going to the family business. It’s a Foodtruck, my moms the owner. You don’t have to help out or anything, but you can definitely eat.” She explained easily, letting out a small chuckle. Manuel moved to stand up and arched an eyebrow. “Actually he’s helping. We gotta take a bunch of boxes to the warehouse and shit. I could use the extra help.” He said easily. “Everyone ready?”
"Thanks," Lo replied appreciatively before looking at Theresa as she took his arm. His features softened at her words and he raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Oh, that's so cool," he breathed out sincerely, not having a chance to say much else before Manuel spoke up. Lorenzo looked up at him and nodded easily, really not minding. He always wanted to help out wherever he could. "I'm happy to help," he assured them before nodding easily. Scarlett hopped up from the couch after rolling her eyes at Manuel, walking over to him and taking his hand to follow him out.
Theresa narrowed her eyes at her brother because she couldn’t believe him right now and rolled her eyes at him after Lorenzo agreed to help. She was supposed to make a good impression not make him want to walk away as soon as he was inside. “Great,” Manuel said easily, patting him on the back on his way out with Scarlett. Theresa sighed a little, beginning to lead Lorenzo out gently. “My brother is...special. I don’t have a dad, so like, he always feels like he has to take care of me, you know? So he plays a little tough scar is on our side though and she can get him to do /anything/ so like we are good.” She murmured playfully on their way out. “Let’s take your car, yeah? So we can sneak out earlier than closing time.” She explained playfully.
Scarlett squeezed Manuel's hand once they were outside, smirking up at him. "I haven't seen you in protective brother mode in awhile," she told him teasingly. She didn't blame him, she knew it was only out of love. Lorenzo would survive. Lorenzo, on the other hand, let Theresa lead him out. He turned his head to look down at her as he listened to her intently, nodding a little in understanding. "Hey, don't even worry about it. I got an older sister and I'm super protective over her, even though she's older. So I don't blame him," Lo assured her with a small shrug. He didn't want her to worry about it in the slightest. "Yeah, of course." He replied easily as he chuckled, reaching into his pocket and unlocking his car. He opened the passengers side door for her, making sure she was in before closing the door and proceeding to the drivers side.
“I don’t know what you mean. I need the help.” Manuel managed to say nonchalantly since he was just messing around as they got to their car. He had to test the kid, see what he was capable of. Theresa deserved only the best of the best. “You do? Do you have any more siblings?” She asked with a raised eyebrow as she moved to get in the car. She had never brought anyone home, so she was nervous even if Lorenzo had just said that their business seemed cool. She just didn’t know what to say or to expect out of all of this. “Hm, just follow Manu’s car and we will be there. I can’t believe he’s making you move stuff around. He’s a boxer, he has enough muscles on his own.” She said playfully as she buckled up.
"I don't know why you're saying that as if I don't have these huge guns," Scarlett told him as she held up her arms and flexed playfully before climbing into the car. Lorenzo nodded easily in confirmation as he buckled up, not being able to help but smile. He was incredibly family oriented so he loved talking about them. "Yep. An older brother, his name is Theo. My sisters name is Elodie." Lorenzo explained easily, trying to be as open as possible. "Which all makes me the baby of the family," he added as he chuckled before nodding at her instructions. He followed behind Manuel when he pulled off, his eyes widening a bit at her words. "Wait? He's a boxer? Oh, my god. T..I thought he was scary all on his own. Now I definitely gotta be on my best behavior." He murmured playfully as he ran a hand through his hair.
Manuel rolled his eyes playfully at her as he climbed in, shaking his head at her. “Yeah and why would I make you work if we can make Theresa’s new boy do it! I’m only looking after you, babe, that’s all I’m saying.” He murmured playfully as he began to drive. Theresa listened intently, nodding her head eagerly. “Aw, that’s so cute. I’m the youngest too. It’s just Manu and I though. And my mom. And so many cousins and stuff.” She explained easily, nodding her head and then bursting out into laughter at his reaction. “I mean he’s not pro yet or anything, but he’s trying to get there. Kinda like you and football, I guess. Except he wants to get paid for getting hurt. Don’t know why he couldn’t pick another sport.” She admitted softly.
"Awwww, aren't you just the sweetest?" Scar asked him as she leaned over to press a kiss to his cheek before she settled into her seat. Lorenzo nodded a little as she spoke, laughing softly. "Really? Big families are nice, though." He mused easily before shaking his head a little. "I think it's cool. I don't know much about it but Rocky is one of my favorite movies, so if it's anything like that it's cool." He explained gently, definitely thinking that it was interesting. "Are him and Scarlett...married? I know she was the one who picked you up from school so...you guys must be close, yeah?" Lo asked curiously.
“You know me. I’m smart like that. We gotta use this kid, babe. Test him. We have to make him think we have a say in this matter because we all know hays not the case except for him.” Manuel said teasingly after she kissed him. Sue him, he knew opportunities when he saw one. “Oh yeah. I can’t complain, you know? I love them all.” Theresa said easily. She grinned at his reference and sighed. “Not exactly. It’s way less cute, and more...bloody. I haven’t been able to see him fight anymore after I went once and he had a terrible fight.” She admitted in a soft murmur, shaking her head as she remembered that night. “Oh. No. They have been together for like almost a year, actually. But they’re almost married. Sorta. They would be if my brother stopped being stupid. I don’t know what with men and your way of making decisions no offense. They’re kind of perfect together. It’s like...unfair.” She said playfully.
"Manu, baby. He's a teenager, not a science experiment. Lighten up," Scarlett told him, laughing as she did so. She knew he was just being protective, but she would still keep him in check. Lorenzo frowned a little at her words, glancing over at her for a moment before he shook his head. "It's understandable. I couldn't imagine seeing someone I love like that. It's tough," Lorenzo mused gently, wanting her to know that her feelings were understandable in his eyes. "Ah, gotcha." He replied before chuckling softly. "That's good for them, though. It's really cool like...seeing someone you care about, family especially, find someone who's really good for them. My brother is engaged, so I've seen it first hand."
“That’s what you think. I know how teenagers think, Scar. I was one. And teen boys need to be watched. She’s my little sister, let me be.” Manuel said playfully, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. Theresa nodded lightly, taking a deep breath. “Yeah. But you know, he wants our support. Which is really tough. My mom tries to ignore he fights so all he has is Scar regarding all of that? And I know it’s unfair for him. He has our backs, always and we can’t be there for him on the one thing that really matters to him.” She admitted thoughtfully, shrugging a little and running a hand through her hair frustratedly. “Really? How old is he? Wait, your brother is Theo...oh my god, the guy from that really good band? Are you kidding me?” She asked eagerly, eyes wide.”
Scarlett sighed playfully at his words as she held Manuel's hand tightly, just letting him be. She guessed she couldn't really blame him. Lorenzo nodded slowly at her words, shrugging a little. "Yeah, I can see his that's tough for both of you. I'm sure you'll figure it out, though. You just gotta give it time," Lorenzo replied gently with s small shrug. Lorenzo then opened his mouth up to answer her question before grinning widely at her realization. He chuckled softly before nodding a little. "Hm, yeah. That's him. You're a fan?"
Theresa sighed a little, hoping that was really the case and that Manuel oils understand it. He’d never even said anything but she knew how important it was for him. “Not like a huge fan but I’ve heard some of their songs on the radio and stuff. It’s all really good. Wow, I can totally see it now, how much you guys look alike. And your father too, that’s amazing. “
Lorenzo raised his eyebrows at her words as his smile grew. He chuckled softly as she said they all looked alike since he got that quite a bit, nodding easily. "Yeah, they're really great. You'll have to come to one of their shows some time, it's crazy," he explained with a wide grin. "Hm, yeah. There's no doubt about us all being related, that's for sure."
“Yeah? I’m sure. I have a friend who’s a huge fan that’s why I knew his name, probably.” Herrera admitted easily. She wasn’t very musically oriented but she could see where people came from with that kind of music. “For sure. You are all cute.” She said with a small shrug, looking ahead as they finally came to a stop. “Okay, I guess you’ll help Manu just load things up while I help mom open up and get things cooking with Scar. I will see you in a little bit, Okay? If Manuel tries anything...don’t pay attention to him, Okay?”
"That's so cool, I'll have to bring you both when they play in New York again. We'll watch from the side, it gets a little crazy in the audience," he explained, laughing softly the thought. Lorenzo blushed at her compliment, running a hand through his hair after brining the car to a stop. "Thank you." He replied appreciatively before climbing out of the car. He laughed; shaking his head a little at her. "I'll be fine, don't worry." He assured her, then making his way to Manuel.
“That would make her go crazy.” Theresa murmured playfully, nodding a little and biting down on her bottom lip as he walked away before she made her way to the Foodtruck to help out with anything that they needed. Manuel was already carrying several boxes easily outside to the van they had for the business. “Hey, just take those over here. It’s not super hard as you can see.” He said to Lorenzo as he set the boxes in the car. “So, Lorenzo, where are you from? Europe or something?”
Lorenzo nodded quickly at Manuel's instructions and began doing exactly as Manuel asked of him. Theresa had said it herself, he was he closest thing she had to a dad. So he definitely wanted to make a good first impression. He nodded easily at Manuel's question before elaborating. "Oh, yeah. I was born in France, but I've been living here for most a my life. A majority of it, actually. We lived in California for a bit before coming to New York since this is where both of my parents grew up."
Manuel nodded easily, finding that interesting but also now starting to understand why Theresa had asked him over here. Because this boy was a lot like Scarlett. He wasn’t like Kenny or Manuel, he had a different life. “That’s a lot of places for only being eighteen years old. Was that because of your parents job or something? All the moving around?” He questioned as he picked up more boxes.
Lorenzo glanced over at Manuel when he spoke up, shrugging a little. He'd ever really thought too much of it because it was all he knew. He continued picking up the boxes and moving them before nodding again. "Kinda, I guess. My dad played football which is why we lived in France. But after he retired my parents wanted to come back to the states which is why the move to California happened. Then the move to New York happened just for the hell-uh, heck of it."
“Ah. Scarlett mentioned that, actually. Aaron Windsor right? He is such a big deal here.” Manuel remembered, setting the boxes down and sitting on the trunk of the car as he watched the kid. “You know I’m not super old, right? You can say hell or fuck, that’s not new. Only a couple years older than Theresa and you. I just look older.” He said with a small shrug. “Do you play soccer too?”
Lorenzo was surprised to hear his father's name from Manuel's mouth before nodding a little. "Yeah, that's him," he replied with a small smile. Lo looked up at Manuel as he heard his next words, nodding a little as he rubbed the back of his neck. "No, no. I know. I just uh, I didn't wanna be disrespectful, you know? T told me...you're the only father figure she has. And that you're a boxer. So I wanna make a good first impression," Lorenzo blurted out before shaking his head a little at himself, then continuing to move the boxes. "Yeah, I play forward."
“I grew up watching him. Here we kinda tend to root for Colombia or the US national team. It’s definitely a soccer family.” He explained as he picked up some other boxes to finish up their job for the night. Manuel thought about it for a second, shrugging a little. “Yeah. In a way. She doesn’t think I’m her father or anything, so she gets real pissed when I try to help out. But I just...I look after her, you know? I didn’t approve of Kenny and she didn’t care though. So like don’t even worry about it, all she needs is to like you, not for me to like you.” Manuel said sincerely since he could tell the younger guy was trying. He could give him that. “Like Ronaldo? Are out in a club here or is it just a pastime?”
It was always strange when people told Lorenzo that people had grown up watching his father. Not in a bad way, by any means. But it was his father. He often forgot how people viewed him as opposed to how Lorenzo viewed him. "Really? That's crazy. He is thinking about coaching the US team, though." Lorenzo shared gently. He turned to look at Manuel as they finished, shoving his hands into his pockets. He shook his head a little, then speaking upon. "Getting approval from the family means a lot to me, though." He responded sincerely. It was true. If someone as important as Manuel didn't like him, he would do everything in his power to change it. "Like Ronaldo, yeah. I'm a part of a team. It's not that serious, though, because I'm still in school."
“Are you kidding me? That would be sick. We need a good coach, we haven’t had much luck lately.” Manuel admitted with a shake of his head. He was Colombian and all but America was his home so he felt close to it all. He looked back at he boy as he began to lead him back to the Foodtruck, staying or if it since there were plenty of people in there already cooking and even a line outside of people already buying food. “Well, that matters to all of us. We are family oriented. If Theresa brought you here, she likes you for real. And I have no doubt that she needs to know if it’s the same for you, you know? She’s had it tough growing up the way we did and it’s unusual for any of us to be serious about something. So, like, please don’t mess it up. My girlfriend is on team you, and I trust her so I hope you realize how big of a deal this is.” Manuel explained easily, keeping a neutral expression as he usually did with most people. “That’s cool. So you finish school and then college?”
"Nope, I'm serious. It'll just depend on if he has his hands busy with his foundation or not." Lorenzo hoped that his father would take the offer, it would be an incredible thing for the both of them. Lorenzo began following behind Manuel easy, looking at the oldest Parker as he spoke. At some point his eyes drifted towards Theresa and he watched her for a moment before his eyes moved back to Manuel. "I do. Respectfully, if I'm stupid enough to do any wrong by her, I give you full permission to...break my legs or something, I dunno. I don't have any ill intentions when it comes to her." Lorenzo said sincerely. All he wanted was to be the guy that Theresa deserved. Lorenzo bit down on his bottom lip as he heard Manuel's question, then shaking his head a little. "Uh, no, actually. I'm only in school because I know it would mean a lot to my mom if I graduated. After I wanna play professionally."
“Well, I hope it works out. That would be amazing for the team, someone that c an make it work. I’m not even sure I have seen him at this age? I remember him from when he used to play so much younger.” Manuel admitted as he let out a small laugh. He arched an eyebrow at Lorenzo and smirked a little, patting his shoulder. “No offense but that would happen whether you gave permission or not, man.” He wasn’t surprised by his answer, he was an athlete after all and it was good that he had big goals. A kid like this with a father so well known, he probably already had people in line asking to sign him. “Understood. I’m sure it’ll happen. Haven’t seen you play but you got that in your genes anyway. I gotta get to work so talk later, I’ll tell Theresa to come down here in a sec.”
"No? Well, if you grew up watching him play you gotta meet him. My mom likes to throw get togethers sometimes. I'll have to invite you guys over next time she does," Lorenzo offered easily without a second thought. He let a soft chuckle leave his lips before nodding a little. "That's fair." And t was. He knew what it was like to be a protective brother so he didn't blame Manuel. "Cool, thanks." Lorenzo replied easily as Manuel said he would go get Theresa.
“Oh, yeah sure. Just Let Theresa know and shit.” Manuel said with a small shrug, not really thinking too much about it and climbing into the Foodtruck to hug Scarlett from behind and kissing her cheek several times. “Theresa, why don’t you take the night off and go hang out with Lorenzo, huh? Scarlett and I will take care of it, don’t worry about it.” He said easily. Theresa arched her eyebrows, watching him and the lookin back at Scarlett as if to make sure he wasn’t joking. “Scar...is He for real right now?”
Scarlett had been working on drinks when Manuel hugged her from behind. She hummed softly in content as he kissed her cheek several times, leaning back into him as he did so. Scarlett was surprised to hear Manuel's words, but in the best way possible. She couldn't help but grin, turning to Theresa and laughing at her question. "Go before he changes his mind," Scarlett urged quickly.
“Yeah, go before I change my mind.” Manuel said teasingly, letting go of his girlfriend with a last quick kiss to her lips and hen moving to get some gloves on so he could take over for Gabriella since she wanted to meet Lorenzo too. “This family is so damn weird.” Theresa mumbled playfully. “Come on, mom.” She said as she begin leading her out to where Lorenzo was. “Lo, this is my mom. Her name is Gabriella. Mom, this is Lorenzo.”
Scarlett kissed Manuel quickly before pulling him to her to do again before she went back to what she was doing before. Lorenzo, on the other hand, had been waiting patiently outside of the truck, lifting his head as he saw Theresa approaching. She had an older woman with her, who he presumed to be her mom. Well, at least he was getting meeting the family out of the way early on. Lorenzo flashed Gabriella a grin before he extended his hand out to her, "Hi. It's so nice to meet you, Mrs. Parker."
“It’s very nice to meet you too, mijo. Theresa told me you had helped her out a lot in school and when she got into trouble so I appreciate that. I’ll ask her to have you over for dinner soon, Okay? You two have fun.” She said easily, honestly extremely calm because she tried her daughter completely just like she did with Manuel. Her kids were amazing kids. With that, she made her way back to the Foodtruck since she had so many things to do. Theresa, on the other hand, turned to look at Lorenzo and arched an eyebrow at him. “Okay how did you do that?!”
Lorenzo grinned widely over at Gabriella as he spoke, nodding quickly. "It's the least I could do. Thank you," he replied easily. Honestly, Theresa's family seemed pretty damn cool. He figured he had made a good impression on everyone which had been his main objective for the night. Lo turned to Theresa as they were left alone, his eyebrows furrowing at her question. "Do what, exactly?"
Theresa shook her head at it all, groaning. “My mom literally just looked at you and approved of you. Manuel, who is stubborn as hell, just walked in there and told me to take my night off so I could hang out with you. Just like that?” She couldn’t believe it, he was way too good to be true. “By the way, si brought some empanadas and buñuelos for you to try. Made some to go too in case you want to give to your family, my mom wanted to give you some.” She explained easily.
An amused expression came across Lorenzo's features as she groaned, biting down on his bottom lip to hide his grin. As soon as she explained herself, he threw his head back and laughed. He shrugged his shoulders bashfully, adverting his gaze back to her. "I didn't do anything extraordinary, I assure you." He replied easily before nodding a little at her words. "Oh, awesome. Can I try them now? I haven't eaten since lunch."
“Yeah, right.” Theresa rolled her eyes playfully at him and nodded her head, leading him over to one of the tables that were empty and gave him the bag of food. “Have you ever had Colombian food before? You’ve been everywhere so I wouldn’t be surprised.”
"I'm serious!" He exclaimed, holding his hands up innocently before he followed her to the table. Lorenzo took a seat across from her, taking the bag easily. "I haven't, actually. So this'll be a first," he told her easily with a smile. He took out the empanadas first, taking one and taking a bite from it. He hummed softly in content as he chewed before nodding as he swallowed. "Damn, this is good. Business must be great then, right?" He asked with raised eyebrows before taking another bite.
“Be my guest, then.” Theresa said easily, moving to take another bite of her food and grinning at his reaction. “It’s all my mom. She’s the best cook ever. But it’s been amazing lately, if I’m honest. We haven’t worried about money for normal things in a few months so I couldn’t even ask for more.” She admitted softly, looking back at the line of people that only got bigger. “It’s not a lot but it’s got us where we are now.”
Lorenzo couldn't help but grin as she spoke about her mother. He could very easily relate to what it felt like to have an incredible mom, because really, his mother meant the entire world to him. He nodded in understanding, "that's good." He was well aware at this point that their financial situations were drastically different, but he didn't care. It didn't matter to him. "That's all that matters then, right?" He asked with a raised eyebrow before continuing to eat for a moment until he spoke up again. "Your brother is cool."
“Yeah. For sure.” Theresa took a sip of her soda and showed him one called Colombiana, offering it. “You should try that. It’s made with cola, not really sure where that comes from but it’s great.” She explained gently before continuing to eat. She raised an eyebrow at his words, laughing a little. “You think so, really? I mean he’s okay. Just super serious most times.”
Lorenzo took the drink from her as she offered it to him. Because he'd traveled so much he really wasn't too picky when it came to food or drinks. So he had no worries about liking it. "Oh, nice." He replied appreciatively. He opened it easily and took a sip from it before nodding in approval. "For sure. He's just protective over you but I can't blame him for that. Told 'em he could break my legs if I ever hurt you."
Theresa almost choked on her door at his words, eyes wide. “Lorenzo, never give him an excuse for that. God.” She said playfully, letting out a small laugh. “I’m kidding. He never hurts anyone off the ring, you think if he did Scar would accept it? She would kick his ass, honestly.”
Lorenzo chuckled at Theresa's words, shaking his head a little at her. "I don't plan on hurting you in any way, so we don't gotta worry." He assured her gently. He wouldn't dream of it, really. Lorenzo's eyes widened a bit at Theresa's words before nodding a little. "She sounds badass. But like I said, I believe it. He seems like a good dude."
Theresa softened at his words and she managed a small smile. That was a huge promise but thinking on how long they had been thinking about each other by now, it was insane. “I believe that. Which is what makes it so scary.” She admitted softly, sighing a little. “He is a great guy. You know he never finished high school? Because he was out there working since he was like fourteen. It broke my moms heart but he knew it was all he could do to help out. Mom doesn’t admit it but she knows it was the only way to make sure we could be where we are now.”
"Scary?" Lorenzo repeated gently as his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, unsure as to what exactly she was referring to. Lorenzo's features softened at Theresa's words. She didn't have to share something so personal yet she did anyway and he was grateful. "There's nothing wrong with that, you know? I know you can't really compare it but if it were up to me I wouldn't be in school either. It doesn't make or break someone. But I think it's really admirable that he have that up to help out." Lo replied gently, flashing her a smile. "Does he wanna go pro with boxing or?"
“Yeah, how I feel about you. Because even if you did hurt me, I feel like I would keep trying.” She said slowly, shaking her head at it all. It wasn’t like she looked down at Manuel fornit, she admired him for being so selfless. But she knew that he wasn’t able to get a good job, or to feel more accomplished unless he ended up going pro. “No, I know. He does. It’s his thing and he’s so good at it, from what I’ve heard. It’s just not super easy and he doesn’t really let a lot of people help out.”
Lorenzo immediately frowned at her words and he shook his head a little. "Don't say that. I would never do anything to hurt you. I don't care f that sounds like a big promise or whatever. I would never dare hurt you," Lorenzo told her seriously as his eyes locked on hers. It was crucial that she knew that. Lorenzo nodded in understanding at Theresa's words, frowning a bit. "Well, if he's good then it's bound to work out for him."
“I know. Sometimes we hurt people even if we don’t mean to, Lorenzo. It’s just how life is. I hope it’s not the case with us.” Theresa said gently. She believed in him, so much, but that was exactly where lost hurt came from. “I don’t wanna hurt you either, you know? I’m sorry if si made you feel shitty after our kiss...I promise that I don’t regret It or anything. Like, it was an amazing first kiss.” She admitted playfully and nodded a little. “Yeah, I hope so. I really do. Do you want to go pro in soccer too?”
Lorenzo knew that she was right. She had a habit of being right, honestly. He swallowed hard and shook his head a little at the thought, trying not to dwell on it. They weren't even dating yet, so he didn't want to have this conversation now. He immediately dropped his head as she apologized, raking a hand over his hair as he sighed softly. "Don't be sorry. I'm glad you think so but I...I shouldn't have done it like that. I should have waited," he replied gently before lifting his head to look at her. He nodded a little, the smile returning to his lips at her question. "Yeah, that's the plan. The only plan I've got, actually."
“Lo...It’s okay. Honestly, that kiss was a year in the making, I can’t even say I wasn’t into it. Because I was. I wish I could go back not say any of that whole thing that I said. I like you. And I was just...I was scared because you hadn’t seen me like this. Riverdale is not my world, Lorenzo. I got an scholarship and I go there, but every afternoon, I do my homework and eat and then come out here to help my mom and brother by working here. I don’t have a car, I don’t have a huge house like most people there. You’re huge on campus, you know? I was scared that you would see how different we really are and not want this anymore. So I just wanted you to see it.”
Lorenzo listened to Theresa intently, which is what he did most of the time anyway. But this time she had his completely undivided attention. Because she was admitting something that she thought would be a deal breaker for him. When she finished Lorenzo had a frown on his features and moved to stand up to sit next to her. He took her hand carefully, turning his head to lock her eyes on hers. "All of this doesn't make me think any less of you, T. I hate that it was even a thought in your mind that it would change how I look at you. I still think you hang the moon, honestly. Yeah, we may be different. But it's not a bad thing. As far as I'm concerned, you guys have your own business. Do you know how cool that is? We had different upbringings, that's it. We can't help what we're born into, you know. I don't care about any of it. Not a single thing." Lorenzo told her sincerely.
Theresa listened intently to him, swallowing hard as he just told her that he simply didn’t care. And she didn’t expect any less from him. She was on cloud nine and bit down on her bottom lip to avoid smiling as she stared at him for a moment. “Okay. Goodness, you’re making me sound silly now after all of that.” She admitted teasingly, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. “Just so you know, I used that whole thing with Kenny as an excuse the other day. I really don’t care for him now. This whole thing...it doesn’t even compare. I always went back to our night at the dance while Inwas with him.”
"Well, no offense, but it is really silly." Lorenzo replied teasingly, grinning widely at her as he did so. He didn't want her to worry about minimal things like money. Because Lorenzo didn't care about it. He'd had it all his life and it wasn't as great as people made it out to be. He laced their fingers together, looking down at their hands for moment. He lifted his head to look at her again as she spoke up, laughing softly at her admission. "I think about that night a lot, too. I'm just so happy it's you," he murmured. "I've uh...I've never really been in like, a serious relationship before, I guess." Lorenzo admitted slowly.
Theresa sighed softly at his words, managing a small smile and running a hand through her her hair carefully. “That makes two of us though. I’m very happy that we found each other somehow. It means the world.” She reaches up to run a hand down his face slowly and sighed a little. “I want this. You and me.”
Lorenzo couldn't help but grin as she shared that she hadn't been in a real relationship either. Lo immediately relaxed under her touch, closing his eyes for a moment. He squeezed her hand gently, nodding a little at her words since he wanted the same thing. "I do too, T. I've never wanted something so bad before."
Theresa nodded a little, taking a deep breath and smiling as she brought her hand on top of theirs gently. “Well, it’s happening now, Lo. I’m right here. And I’m not kissing you right now because my mom is right there.” She murmured playfully.
Lorenzo couldn't help but laugh at Theresa's words, nodding a little. "That's fair," he murmured gently. He took her free hand with his and lifted it up to press a kiss to the back of her hand. "You wanna put a label on this already or...take it slow? Because I'll wait for you if I have to, T. Gladly."
Theresa laughed lightly at his words, sighing a little. “We have been looking for each other for a year, I think we can handle a label by now.” She said gently, shrugging a little. Either way, she wouldn’t be seeing anyone else and labels were mostly so other people understood where they were at. “Do you want a label in specific?”
Lorenzo chuckled softly, squeezing her hand gently after he did so. "You're always right. Is this a recurring thing for you or somethin'?" Lorenzo asked her with a raised eyebrow although his smile had yet to falter in the slightest. "Mhm. I'd like to be your boyfriend, if that's okay with you."
“Oh I don’t know. I guess I am really smart.” Theresa replied playfully, nodding her head eagerly and sighing in content. ”mhm. I would like that very much.” She said easily, lacing their fingers together once again and kissing his cheek.
"You guess?! You are incredibly smart, no doubt about it," Lorenzo replied adamantly as he nodded quickly. His smile grew even more as she agreed, leaning into her as she kissed her cheek. "Oh my god," he breathed out in disbelief. "This is happening. Okay, holy shit." Lorenzo placed a hand on his chest and exhaled, shaking his head a little. "This is like...one of the best things to happen to me. You are. Hands down."
“I was trying to be modest, but fine.” Theresa said teasingly, letting out a giggle as he overreacted about the whole thing and rolling her eyes at him. “Keep your cool, Windsor.” She murmured playfully, poking his side and then leaning back on her seat as she looked over at him. “You’re so adorable.”
"Oh, fuck modesty. When t comes to that, at least." Lorenzo replied easily. He blushed as soon as she replied, jumping a bit as he poked her side before he leaned over to rest his head on her shoulder. "Hm, sorry. I'm trying, but it's hard for me when it comes to you."
Theresa laughed softly at his words, shrugging a little. “Just when it comes to that?” She asked teasingly and then ran a hand through his hair carefully. “I know, it’s not exactly easy from my side either.” She admitted as she bit down on her bottom lip and then looked down at their joined hands. “Was your dad mad at you for getting into trouble because of me?” She asked gently.
"Yeah, everyone should know how smart you are." Lorenzo replied gently, closing his eyes as he ran a hand through her hair. He chuckled softly at her admission, running his thumb along the back of her hand. He opened his eyes as she mentioned his dad, lifting his head. His features softened immediately. "No, no. He wasn't mad at all. I think he knew I did it because I liked you. I didn't get in trouble for it or anything." He assured her.
Theresa smiled brightly at him, shrugging. “Everyone sort of knows.” She didn’t care if everyone knew, honestly. She already knew that she was very smart and that was what mattered. “That’s really nice of him. My mom would understand but still at least ground me,” she murmured playfully.
"Good," Lorenzo replied gently, keeping a tight hold on her hand. He chuckled softly at her words, shaking his head a little. "I'm a lot like my dad. So I think he understood it, you know? My mom thought I did the right thing, too, standing up for you."
Theresa nodded her head, really glad that was the case because she would hate it if he got into trouble for her. “Great. That’s really important for me. I don’t want them to think I’m some troubled person or something, you know?”
Lorenzo nodded his head easily at her words. "Oh, no. They don't think that at all. I actually told my mom all about you when I was asking for advice after the whole kiss thing. She wants to meet you real soon, by the way. Probably cause I couldn't shut up," he admitted softly, shaking his head a little at himself. "I was telling Manuel that my mom likes to have these cook outs. You guys should all come to the next one. Even your mom. You can meet my family and Manuel can meet my dad, he said he's a big fan."
“You asked your mom for advice?” Theresa asked having a hard time believing that. She didn’t even know that boys even asked about it, honestly. Reaching up, she ran a hand through his hair and smiled brightly. “That is so cute, Lo. But yeah, I guess that would be okay. I think Manu would love that. If your parents don’t mind, then count us in.” She said easily. “As long as it’s during the day because you know we work most nights.”
Lorenzo laughed softly at her question before shrugging his shoulders a little. "I always ask my mom for advice," he replied easily. Lo closed his eyes for a moment as she ran her hand through his hair, nodding a little. "They won't mind at all. It'll be great. And yeah, it'll probably be lunch." Lorenzo replied gently as he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "Hey, are you busy tomorrow afternoon? I have a game tomorrow and I really want you to come."
Theresa nodded a little, smiling. “Yeah, I can come to the game. I have only ever seen you play on breaks and stuff.” She said excitedly since she knew that soccer was a huge deal for him, which made it a big deal for her even if she didn’t know a lot about it. She would make sure to ask Manuel about it so she at least knew what was going on.
Lorenzo grinned widely at her response, squeezing her hand gently as he nodded a little. "Awesome," he replied eagerly. He would definitely be looking forward to looking out and seeing her there. More than anything. "How much so you know about soccer?"
“Honestly? Not a lot. But I will interrogate my dear brother and make him tell me everything.” Theresa admitted playfully, looking back at him with a small smile and a shrug. She didn’t mind not knowing, she figured that she would learn it all very easily.
Lorenzo threw his head back and laughed at her words before nodding a little. "You'll catch on quick, you do with everything." He replied easily as he held her hand tightly. "It's not that complicated. If you can get an A in chemistry you'll definitely have soccer figured out."
“That’s true. And chemistry is easy for me, actually.” Theresa murmured teasingly though it wasn’t a lie. Chemistry and biology were her favorite subjects. Looking back at the Foodtruck for a moment, Theresa grinned at Lorenzo and sighed a little. “You know, this is a day off for me. We should get out of here.” She said excitedly.
"Yeah, that makes one of us." Lorenzo replied easily, rolling his eyes playfully at her. His gaze followed hers to the food truck before he looked at her again, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah? Where do you wanna go?" He asked curiously, fishing his car keys out of his pocket.
Theresa giggled at his words, shrugging. “Not sure yet. Just not here. I’m here almost every night, you know? Take me somewhere you like.” She said easily, not really minding their destination that much.
Lorenzo nodded his head gently before laughing softly. He thought for a moment before nodding a little. He moved to stand, offering his hand to her. Once she took it, he made his way to he food truck to say goodbye to everyone. "It was nice meeting you guys."
Manuel and Gabriella looked over to the side of the truck to see Theresa and Lorenzo saying goodbye. Manuel just waved goodbye. “You too, man. Take care.” He said easily before going back to work on the fryer. Gabriella smiled at them and nodded. “Of course. You’re always welcome here, Lorenzo. Thank you for coming. Did you like the food?” She asked easily. Theresa smiled a little and nodded. “Yeah, we are going out. I’ll be home in a couple of hours.”
Scarlett looked up and peered around Manuel as she heard Lorenzo's words. "Bye, it was good seeing you again!" She told him with a grin. Lorenzo grinned at Manuel and Scarlett's words before his dark eyes shifted to Gabriella. "Oh, I loved it. I'll have to bring my family by soon," Lorenzo said quickly before giving Theresa's hand a gentle squeeze. He led her to the car, opening the door for her.
Theresa smiled and waved everyone goodbye, slipping into his car and thanking him softly before she buckled up quickly. She didn’t know where they were going but she trusted in him to take her somewhere nice.
Lorenzo closed the door once she was in before moving to climb into the drivers seat. Lorenzo figured he would take her somewhere they could both be alone but also to a place that meant a lot to him. A soccer pitch. He drove there quickly, knowing that there wasn't one too far away. It was a public field but luckily, they were the only ones there. Lorenzo climbed out of the car, moving to the trunk to grab a ball, before opening the door for T.
Theresa smiled and climbed out when she realized that he had took her to a football field, or a soccer field, who even knew. It was something important to him and she liked it. Letting out a small laugh as he grabbed a ball, she smirked. “Oh, wow. I’m really dating a jock.” She murmured teasingly, shaking her head. “I don’t know how to even kick that so I hope you’re not getting ideas.”
Lorenzo couldn't help but laugh at her words, nodding a little. "I know, don't get too excited." He couldn't help but tease her before laughing again. "Oh, that gives me even more ideas! You have a lot to learn, beautiful." Lorenzo replied easily, offering his hand to her to help her out of the car.
“Didn’t you just hear what I said about not getting ideas?” Theresa asked him, smirking as she raised an eyebrow and thanked him for helping her get out of the car. “I’m excited. We’re a high school musical remake, a cute jock and the smart girl. Now we just need to join glee club or theater, that’s it.”
Lorenzo couldn't help but laugh at her words, shrugging not so innocently. Lo couldn't help but laugh at her words before shaking his head a little. "I've never seen it. I can't sing, though, so that's a problem. Can you?" He asked with a raised eyebrow, leading her to the center of the pitch.
“No, not really. I only sing in the shower.” Theresa said easily, she was no singer and had never really wanted to be. She took his hand as he led her over to the center of the pitch, looking around. “This is where you play?”
Lorenzo chuckled softly, knowing she had a point. "That makes two of us." He replied easily. Theo and Ellie had definitely been lucky enough to get some musical talent, Lorenzo hadn't been so lucky. But he was okay with it. He squeezed her hand gently, humming softly. "It's where we practice, mostly." He explained easily. "Hey, you never told me what you wanna do after graduation."
Theresa smiled a little, shrugging. “Oh, I thought I had. I already have a scholarship for college next year. I’ll be attending Yale University next fall.” She explained gently. It was all thanks to Scarlett though, she’d made it happen because Theresa had got her spot but she would still have to pay a lot of money she didn’t have. Now she would. “And you want to go pro, right? That must be exciting.”
"Yale, wow. My sister almost went there. That's really awesome, though. You wanna go into medical, right?" He asked gently, running his thumb along the back of her hand slowly. Lorenzo nodded gently at her words, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I've wanted it for a really long time."
“Yeah. You know most kids dream about being doctors early on but me? I’ve never changed my mind.” Theresa admitted playfully, letting out a small laugh and smiling over at him. “Yeah, I bet. You’ve played all of your life?”
"That's so cool, though. You must be really passionate about it to have stuck with it all this time." Lorenzo mused gently, letting go of her hand and dropping the ball as he came to a stop. "Oh, yeah. As soon as I saw my dad playing it was game over."
“Yeah. I really love it.” Theresa admitted easily, smiling as they finally came to a stop and then loved her eyes back to him. “Well, that’s cool. Having someone like that to look up to from what I hear he’s the best.”
"That's what's important." Lorenzo replied easily. He grinned at her words before shrugging a little, absentmindedly messing with the bell. "Also means there's a lot of pressure on me because people expect me to be the best too." He replied with a small sigh before kicking the ball over to her.
Theresa nodded slowly at his words because she figured that was a lot to handle. “Well, do you? Live up to the expectations I mean?” She asked with a small smirk and her eyes widening as he passed her the ball. “Don’t even try, mister.” She said kicking it back to him terribly and laughing.
Lorenzo shrugged gently at her words. He loved his father but the Windsor name came with a lot. "Uh, I dunno. I'm probably the wrong person to ask for that." Lorenzo replied bashfully. Even if he knew it for a fact he wouldn't admit it. He was too bashful. He stopped the ball easily before kicking it her way again. "Oh, come on, T. I see potential! Kick it harder," he replied playfully with a grin.
“No? Who am I supposed to ask? You’re the only one that’s supposed to know how good you are. Come on, don’t be like that. You know you’re good.” She said easily, rolling her eyes at him. Sure, he wasn’t conceited or anything but she knew that he knew that he was amazing as a soccer player. “Lorenzo! Nope.” She kicked it right back and groaned. “How do you even kick that and it doesn’t hurt you?”
"Literally anyone but me," Lorenzo replied as he couldn't help but laugh. "I just...do the best I can and hope that's enough." The brunette explained with a shrug. It was the truth. He always hoped it would be enough. Lorenzo threw his head back and laughed at her as she complained, shaking his head a little. "Oh, please. It's light." He explained before sitting down on the pitch and patting the space next to him for her to do the same.
“You know you’re good. You’re just trying to be modest and I can see right through it.” Theresa said teasingly, even though she meant t. If he wanted to go pro that meant he knew that he had something special to offer. Taking a seat next to him, Theresa smiled a little. “You’re used to it, I am not.”
Lorenzo blushed immediately at her words before shaking his head stubbornly. "Yeah, trying." He replied playfully as he rolled his eyes at her. He offered his hand to her as she took a seat, nodding a little. "That is true. I'll cut you some slack. But hey, by the time I'm done with you you'll be ready to go pro, too." He told her teasingly.
Theresa laughed as he began blushing, rolling her eyes playfully at him. “/Dear lord, I can not with this man./“ She exclaimed playfully in Spanish and then smirked a little. “I’m probably the less sporty person you will ever meet, Lorenzo. How do you plan that?”
"/I hope you'll be able to manage, considering you agreed to date me and all./" Lorenzo replied easily, lifting her hand up to kiss the back of it gently. Lo couldn't help but laugh at Theresa's words, shaking his head a little. "You can't be worse than my sister. I'm a great teacher." He assured her gently.
“I guess I’ll have to, huh?” Theresa said playfully, smiling as he kissed her hand. He really was too much of a gentleman sometimes. “I probably am. Trust me. Ask Manuel. We’ve never played any of that.”
Lorenzo nodded his head eagerly, lacing their fingers together gently. "Mhm," he hummed softly before laughing at her admission. "Okay, okay. You stick to school and I'll stick to the athletics, how about that?" He asked with a raised eyebrow before speaking up again. "Have I covered just about everything, though? Everything you wanna know about me?"
“Much better.” Theresa said easily, letting out a small laugh and then nodded lightly. “I guess so. I don’t know, the point of us dating is getting to know each other, right?” She said easily, not really thinking too much about it’s
"Absolutely," Lorenzo replied gently, using his free hand to brush her hair from her face gently. "I just wanna be completely transparent with you, you know? So if there's ever anything you want to know you can ask."
Theresa’s eyes softened at his words and she nodded a little. “Yes, o course. I get that and I appreciate it. Seriously. You can ask me absolutely anything as well, you know?” She said easily, not really minding it all. In fact, she really enjoyed talking to him.
Lorenzo nodded his head gently at her words, grinning widely over at her. "Of course," he replied easily, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "God, my mom is gonna be so happy when I tell her about us." Lorenzo admitted gently, letting out a soft laugh as he did so.
Theresa played with his fingers a little bit and grinned at him. “How? She doesn’t even know me, Lo. I can’t wait to meet her though, you seem to adore her and your dad seemed really great that time I met him.” She admitted easily, moving closer to him and leaning her head on his shoulder.
"Oh, believe me, she knows /all/ about you, T." Lorenzo assured her. Mack was the first person he went to when he needed advice when it came to T, so he told her everything. Lo then nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, they're really great. I'm really lucky."
Theresa giggled at his words, remembering he had mentioned he was extremely close to his mother. “Mhm. Really happy that’s the case. Are you close to your siblings too?”
"Yeah, absolutely. It's been kinda hard because we're all so close in age that we really grew up together. So having them not in school with me or at home is weird." Lorenzo mused gently, resting his head against hers as he did so.
“Hm? Where are they now? I mean, I know they graduated because you’re a senior and you’re the youngest but did they move out?” Theresa asked gently. Theo, she was sure had done but she was unaware of where his sister was.
Lorenzo nodded his head a little at her questions. "Yeah. So my sister is going to NYU. She's really smart, like you. She's studying journalism. She's close by but not home, you know? She has a boyfriend and travels around a lot with him because he does BMX." Lorenzo explained gently before continuing. "And Theo is moved out with his fiancé but he travels a lot because of the band."
“BMX? Like the skating and stuff like that? It’s so cool.” She said with a small laugh. That was amazing, how they all had their lives and still managed to be home some times. They were as close as her own family. “Well, if you go pro, soon enough you’ll be out of the house too, Lo. So it won’t be for too long.”
Lorenzo nodded his head gently at her words as he grinned. "Yeah, it's insane." Lo replied as he couldn't help but laugh. A soft sigh left his lips at her next words and he closed his eyes. That was one aspect of going pro that he wasn't ready for. "Yeah," he murmured gently as he squeezed her hand gently. "What about you, though? Where would you wanna live if you could live anywhere?"
“Honestly? I love New York, actually. I don’t know how I will at Mew Haven for college but if I can get back here, I will because it’s one of my favorite places on Earth.” She admitted easily, letting out a small sigh and lifting her head up to lean up and peck his lips gently. “And you? What team do you want to play for?”
Lorenzo nodded his head at her words, not being able to help but grin. Her lifted his head as she did, kissing her back quickly only to pull back with a grin. He wouldn't get tired of that any time soon. "Hm, that's cool. I'm sure you'll make it happen," Lo then exhaled loudly, shrugging his shoulders a little. "The dream has always been Real Madrid, but who knows if it'll actually happen or not."
Theresa wish she knew what Real Madrid was, but her soccer knowledge was basically nonexistent, so she just nodded and hummed. “Really? Why Real Madrid though? Are they the best team?” She asked curiously as she looked over at him.
"That's subjective, you know? I think so. My dad used to play for them. They've been my favorite since I was a kid, though." Lorenzo replied gently. "There's a downside to it, though, t would mean living in Madrid. Which is really far from home."
“Yeah? There isn’t a champion or something?” Theresa asked playfully. God, she really had no idea of what she was talking about. Theresa hummed a little in thought, nodding. “I can see how that could make you nervous.” She admitted easily.
"Hm, yeah. There's a ton, though. So it really depends. Lots of different leagues and cups and stuff," Lorenzo explained easily. He leaned over to press a kiss to her temple before he pulled back and nodded a bit. "Yeah. I don't like to think about it too much, you know?"
“Well then, I have a lot to learn.” Theresa said playfully, rolling her eyes at herself and then frowning a little. “Why though? Aren’t you looking forward to it?”
"You'll catch on quick, don't worry." Lorenzo assured her gently, leaning over to press a kiss to her cheek before he exhaled gently. "I mean, yeah. But I've never been so far from my family before. So that'll be really tough." Lo admitted gently. "I'll be doing what I love, yeah, but it doesn't come for free."
Theresa smiled as he kissed her cheek and lifted her hand to cup the side of his face gently. “No ones ever away from their family until they are. New Haven scares me too and all but it’s what I want to do so I just focus on my goals. And how good it’ll do me. And others. So just focus on that, you know? Everything else will come easily.”
Lorenzo looked at her intently as she cupped the side of his face, nodding his head gently at her words. She was right. It wouldn't be easy by any means, Lo would just have to focus on what he was there to do. Lorenzo leaned over to muzzle his face into the crook of her neck as he held her hand tightly, nodding as much as he could. "Yeah, you're right. Hm, can I just like, shrink you and keep you in my pocket? I need you for wisdom."
“Well, no. I wouldn’t be okay with that.” Theresa replied playfully, letting out a small laugh and kissing his head as she looked ahead at nothing it particular. She could enjoy this. Enjoy these next year with him and after this conversation, they both already knew they would be far away from each other and it would just be easier to say goodbye by then.
"Hm, why not?" Lorenzo asked playfully, closing his eyes as he leaned up to pepper a few kisses against the skin of her neck. He carefully took his arm from her hold to snake his arms around her middle to hold her close. Lo knew that when the time would come it would be anything but easy. But both of them knew very well what they were getting into.
“Because I’m a busy woman and it just wouldn’t work very well.” She said teasingly, leaning into him even more as he hugged her and closing her eyes as she felt his lips against her skin, smiling widely. “So...you haven’t been out with anyone since the party?”
"Good answer, I like it." Lorenzo replied easily, chuckling softly against her skin as he did so. He definitely did, though, he liked how independent and determined she was. It was admirable. Lorenzo shook his head as much as he could at her question. "Nope. I haven't even looked at another girl like that since then." Lo admitted gently.
“It would really suck for you if you didn’t.” Theresa teased lightly, smirking a little and turning her head to look back at him easily to peck his lips gently and remaining close to him. “God. How even are you such a romantic in this day and age, Lo?” She asked playfully, kissing him once again after doing so and lifting her hand to cup the side of his neck.
"No kidding," he replied playfully, lifting his head easily just in time to meet her lips for a kiss. He grinned widely afterwards; still holding her close before he laughed loudly at her question. "Mm, maybe I've just been waiting for you those whole time, T." He mused gently before kissing her back gently.
Theresa giggled at his words, honestly finding it too adorable to begin with. Too sweet, actually. She kissed him slowly after that, pulling back only a little to speak up. “You’re trying to tell me there’s never been anyone else? I hardly believe that, look at you.” She murmured teasingly. “You’re too much of a good kisser anyway.”
Lorenzo leaned into her, his lips meeting hers easily to reciprocate the kiss. He took his time with it, as she did, not daring to pull back until she did. Lo hummed softly at her words, using one of his hands to brush her hair from her face and tuck it behind her ear. He chuckled softly at her words, blushing as he did so before he finally shook his head. "Thats exactly what I'm telling you." Lo admitted easily. "Soccer has always been my main priority, I guess, so I never needed any distractions. Besides, like I said, I never liked anyone like I like you." Lorenzo told her sincerely, then shaking his head a little. "You think so, though?"
“Okay, wait, I get it that it was nothing too serious. But like, you’ve kissed and seen like, other people, right?” Theresa asked with a raised eyebrow, though she was mostly curious because that wasn’t a thing. Boys like Lorenzo weren’t like this. Not at all. She hummed a little, caressing his cheek gently. “I do think so. Are you kidding? It’s been crazy since you kissed me the other day.”
Lorenzo raised his eyebrows at her question before shrugging a little. "I mean, yeah." Lo confirmed gently. Theresa wasn't his first kiss or anything. But any short flings he had in the past were nothing more than that, flings. Lorenzo closed his eyes as she caressed his cheek, humming softly in content. He grinned at her words nonetheless, nodding a little. "Well, I'm glad. It would suck if I wasn't."
Theresa smiled a little and nodded, glad that he was honest but still surprised that really was the case. No matter how young they were, Lorenzo was a catch for anyone. “It would really suck but I guess I would have taken the chance to teach you. It’s not that big of a deal.”
Lorenzo chuckled softly at her words, nodding a little. "That's true. I would have had a really good teacher, too." Lo replied easily before leaning up to press a gentle kiss to her cheek. He opened his mouth to speak up again before he heard the sprinklers turn on behind them as one by one, they all started to turn on. "Oh, Jesus-" Lo breathed out as he quickly moved to stand, taking her hands to help her up along with him.
Theresa smirked a little and then frowned as soon as she heard the sprinkles go off only a few feet away from them. “Oh my god-“ She exclaimed quickly and moving to get off the grass along with him. “I can’t believe this!” She said playfully as she ran with him.
Lorenzo couldn't help but laugh at her words as they ran, finding her nothing short of adorable. He kept a tight hold on her hand as he led her back to his car, then turning to look at her and placing his hands on her shoulders. "You didn't get wet, did you?" He asked gently.
Theresa giggled all the way back to his car and looked up at him easily. “Ugh. No no. I’m okay. That was so close though.” She said playfully, setting her hands on top of his and then laughing again.
Lorenzo exhaled softly in relief as the smile quickly returned to his lips. "Good." He replied gently, giving her shoulders a gentle squeeze. "I'm sorry about that. I honestly didn't even know that was a thing," Lo admitted as a soft laugh escaped his lips. He then leaned forward to press a kiss to her forehead, then pulling back to look at her intently. "I should probably get you home, yeah?"
“Oh, it’s not you me fault, don’t worry, Lo.” Theresa said easily, smiling widely as he kissed her forehead and wow was there a height difference between them, she almost had to throw her head back completely to meet his eyes. “Mhm. Good plan. Can you just take me home though? Not the Foodtruck? I think I’m gonna catch up on sleep now that I can.” She admitted playfully.
Lorenzo grinned down at her for a moment before nodding his head easily as he pulled back a little. "Of course. You deserve it," he told her gently. If she had to juggle working in addition to school he could only imagine how tired she was. He let go of her only to open up the door, making sure she made it in okay before he climbed into the drivers seat.
Theresa smiled brightly over at him and gave his hand a gentle squeeze before she thanked him softly. Honestly, tonight ha deben way more successful that she had ever thought it would be and she was really happy. Despite how much they had talked about the future tonight, she liked her present a lot. “So, What team do you play for right now? For the New York team I’m assuming?”
"Yeah, basically. It's called the Manhattan Soccer Club." Lorenzo replied easily. He liked playing for the team, he really did, but he craved so much more. He reached over and took her hand as he began driving, sighing softly in content. "If I had known tonight would end up like this I wouldn't have been so nervous to come over."
“Wow, sounds about as Posh as your name.” Theresa murmured teasingly, giving his hand a soft squeeze as he took hers and then smirking a little. “Hm. I knows I was just thinking that. It was way better than I expected.” She admitted playfully.
Lorenzo rolled his eyes playfully at her words, shaking his head a little. "Posh? Hardly," he replied easily, glancing over at her for a moment. "I'm glad you think so, though. Hopefully you won't be too lost when you watch me play." Even if she was, he knew she would catch on quick. "And thank God for that. I couldn't have asked for a better night, or better food. So thank you."
“It is. Don’t even know why soccer is still a thing. When will Americans begin to call it football. It’s what it is.” Theresa said with a small laugh since she heard Manuel complain about that a few times a year. “No, I’ll learn everything I need to, don’t worry about it. I’m very great at studying and memorizing things, remember?” She smiled a little at him, reaching over as much as she could to kiss his cheek gently. “Anytime, silly. My mom loves feeding us. So you never need an excuse for her food.”
Lorenzo chuckled at her words since that what was running through his mind most days before shaking his head. "I'm afraid it'll never happen, unfortunately. Speaking of which, I really don't get american football." Lorenzo breathed out as his brows furrowed in confusion. He only ever watched the Super Bowl for the commercials, honestly. Lo nodded gently, humming softly. "How could I forget?" Lo couldn't help but steal glances at her because honestly, she was perfect in his eyes. "I'll be looking forward to that."
Theresa laughed a little, shaking her head. “I don’t either. Never watched it.” She said shamelessly since she really saw no point in the game all that much and it was highly confusing. “I figured you wouldn’t.”
"Oh, wow. As if I didn't like you enough already," Lorenzo breathed out as he gave her hand a squeeze. It was true, though. She was full of surprises. In no time at all, Lorenzo had pulled up in front of her house. He brought the car to a stop, looking over at her. "Do you want me to walk you up?"
Theresa giggled at his remark, rolling her eyes playfully. “Watch me learn everything related to your football though . That’s when you’ll like me for real.” She teased and then nodded a little at his words. He was a gentleman and she wasn’t going to ruin that for him. “Sure, thank you.” She said gently as she moved to get out of the car.
"Even more, princesa. Like you even more," Lo corrected her as he smirked over at her. He nodded easily, then climbing out of the car. He met her around on her side and extended his hand out to her to lead her up to her front door.
“You get my point.” Theresa said with a small laugh as she blushed a little and then began following him up to the front door since she was exhausted. Her life had been a roller coaster lately. “Thanks for the ride. I’ll see you tomorrow in school?”
Lorenzo chuckled softly, using her hand to pull her close enough so that his arm could circle around her. He nodded his head gently at her words, leaning down to press a kiss to her temple. "Hm, of course." He assured her easily. There was definitely no more missing school for him from here on out. "Get some rest, okay?"
“Hm. Definitely. Text me when you get home safe, please?” Theresa requested gently as she slipped her arms around him neck to pull him down to her gently. She pressed her lips to his softly as she played with the hair at the nape of his neck carefully.
Lorenzo nodded at her request, wrapping his other arm around her as she brought him down. "I will," he assured her, finding the gesture as a whole entirely too sweet. He leaned down even more as his eyes fell shut as she captured his lips in a kiss. He held her tightly as his lips moved slowly against hers, enjoying every second until he would eventually have to pull back.
Theresa smiled slowly as they pulled back and then nodded. “Good. I’ll see you tomorrow then. Bye.” She said easily, hugging him for a second before she let go of him and moved to the front door.
Lorenzo pulled back a little as she did, hugging her tightly before he pulled back entirely. "Bye, T." Lo replied easily, stealing one more kiss from her lips. He then stuffed his hands into his pockets before proceeding to his car.
