I never really thought about it before, but watching this now it occurs to me that Abby having a list of her crimes read out in front of the Council she used to sit on while standing there like a criminal in the dock must be really humiliating for her

on the other hand: Kane was totally the one who argued for her life THIS IS MY HEADCANON AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL

oh I love fluffy cinnamon roll Kane but damn I miss season one asshole!Kane’s smirk sometimes

Abby is pretty much furious for the entire of this season, in like 99% of all scenes she’s basically seething with barely contained rage and it’s awesome

WHY IS THERE NOT MORE OF A REACTION TO THE NEWS THAT THERE ARE HUMANS STILL ALIVE ON THE EARTH AND THERE HAVE BEEN FOR THIS ENTIRE TIME goddd this will never stop annoying me it’s my main pet peeve with this show

WHY WAS THIS NOT EXPLORED MORE Y’ALL HAVE BEEN LIVING A LIE FOR LITERALLY GENERATIONS

DIANA SYDNEY IS HERE HOORAY I love how she swags up literally like five minutes after Abby is thrown off the Council with a big smirk on her face and the most obviously sketchy character motivation that has ever existed

god her talking about the Chancellor’s room is making me sad now that it’s gone though :(:(:(

I loveeeeee Abby’s little throwaway line about Clarke having assisted her with medical procedures before like...can you imagine...Clarke must have really looked up to her mum at one time...

oh no Kane at the memorial oh no this scene oh no it hurts too much he’s just so devastated and he just puts the blame 100% on his own shoulders and he’s so ready and willing to get literally beat up over it and it’s awful

I gotta say, even when first watching this I wasn’t super invested in the main storyline because I didn’t care about Finn and I didn’t know Lincoln yet so it’s really the little moments in this ep that make it for me

Jaha yelling ‘I LOST MY SON!’ is like...the one moment of real emotion we see from him all series I stg, and Isaiah Washington just knocks it out of the park...that moment feels like a real punch to the gut every time I see it

and Diana getting Abby’s seat on the Council I LOVE ARK POLITICS SO MUCCHHHHHHH I just want a thousand seasons of it

badass scrappy season one Octavia selflessly sacrificing herself to try and save Finn <3

oh god nonononononono NOPITY NOPE the scene where Clarke confronts Abby about Jake’s death just breaks me

like, how many times do you think Abby has imagined this conversation because she must have KNOWN the truth would come out one day and then it has to happen over the radio

Abby loses her daughter all over again and my poor baby Clarke is left so alone because her dad is gone and Wells is gone and she’s lost Finn to Raven and now her mother too...

HELP I’M CRYING AGAIN I CAN’T TAKE ABBY CRYING APPARENTLY

and now on top of that, as if I wasn’t already curled up in a tiny ball of feels, here comes the scene where Marcus breaks down in his mother’s arms as he confronts the worst thing HE’S ever done in his life and holy shit I just realised what a rad and heartbreaking parallel that is to the last scene where Clarke rejects her mother because of what she did and now Marcus is reconciling with his mother because of what he did ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

AUGH THIS EPISODE IS SO PAINFUL
