#everyone has their pet peeves in media and movies and shows#mine is when someone has their rib cage open or basically in a situation where their lungs are outside their rib cage#(eg that blood eagle scene in midsommar or 1x8 of wynonna earp with bethany (take a guess which show im re watching))#but anyway#without the lungs being thoroughly and completely surrounded by the ribcage the lungs WILL 👏 NOT👏👏👏👏👏 inflate and deflate#they are held to the sides of the ribs by th3 pleura and pleural fluid#intercostal muscles moves the ribs and the ribs pull the lungs open and relax to let them deflate and air goes out#know what happens if you get even a small hole between the ribs? PNEUMOTHORAX BITCH#remove the ribs and lungs will collapse like lil raisins#midsommar gets a pass bc lungs moving is most likely a hallucination#(fair bc that is 10000% what i would hallucinate if i were on mad shrooms in a room with a blood eagle victim)#but wynonna earp it with bethany it BOTHERED me in what is otherwise a perfect show#like imagine early seasons of supernatural but it didnt hate gay people and dean was a girl#its perfect no notes except the jack of knives bethany lung thing
