i find it fascinating how intrinsically different i am from my family for the simple fact that I'm queer and they're not... They respect me and love me, even in their ignorance. And I can't really ask for more than that, but they'll never understand what it's like to be queer, they'll never see the world the way I see it, and that's absolutely mind blowing every time.

#we watched nimona just now #and MY GOD do we experience that movie differently #fdjghdfkg #they litterally don't see past the shapeshifting girl is a monster to knights cause she looks dangerous #the whole deeper meaning of that story is completely lost on them #and sometimes is for good reason #sometimes when i say stuff like ''disney didn't want to make nimona cause they didn't want a gay main character'' their answer is good #it's like ''that's stupid. people don't care''#cause THEY don't care so they don't see past that #but wow are we aware of different things kdjfhdfg #ame energy as when my mom speaks of leonard and daniel from grantchester (a show set in the 50s) like they're married #as if there wasn't a whole plot on s6(?) where leonard went to prision for ''gross indecency''#dfkjgdg #i would LOVE to live in their world for just a little bit #angel talks #personal #feeling very detached from my family today lol but not necessarily in a bad way? just in a sad way
