im gonna be honest i feel like the response to ai art in the artistic community at large has been overblown, reactionary, and uninformed.
#ive been aware of the ai art community online for about 5 years now.#most ai artists have made it incredibly clear that they dont want to other artistic practices#but are rather using an alternative digital medium to create a piece of art - like how a digital artist uses an art program like photoshop#but with a much wider scope inherently entrenched in mathematics and coding as artistic mediums in their own right#i think that portraying the actions of a very small minority of business owners who (for the most part) use ai tools that are open source#and not their own coding in order to demonize an entire emerging art movement is divisive and reactionary#and will probably end up creating even more divisions between the digital art community and the traditional one#anyway pls read about harold cohen and AARON
