#I think it has to do somewhat with like#depicting vampires hunting humans can be creepy and unsettling and cool#in part because like what makes things scary/impressive/haunting to humans can also naturally toe the line with what is sexy#but when they’re shown hunting animals media always tries to just make raw power their strategy#which is one part of vampire lore/attractiveness but not the key part of it#and so when they’re shown hunting humans they can play into the qualities that actually make vampires intriguing/appealing#but when they’re shown doing shitty little sprints across the highlands/forest#it just looks like a weird dude doing dumb shit in nature#anyway this brought to you by watching a discovery of witches#personal#yes this IS exacerbated by my tendency to judge actors’ running form but honestly Mathew goode’s wasn’t terrible#it just didn’t actually look fast? way too vertical imho
