Thank you for the tag @alinelie! This was fun and super cute!
Two OCs. Two bags. One bad attitude.
Let's go:
what's in my oc's bag? (picrew) vessel
Gideon and Sasha
Sasha: Why do people need to know? What's in YOUR bag, huh?
Gideon: Calm down. It's supposed to be for fun. Do you want to play or not?
Sasha: Fine. You first.
Gideon: I don't normally carry a bag. Pretty much everything I need to do can be done digitally. But sometimes, if I am going to be offsite or there's a conference, I have this:
A Tom Ford leather messenger bag, Prada black leather gloves, Loro Piana vicuña scarf, Mont Blanc pen, an Hermès handkerchief, some tissues, my phone, computer, earpods, some change for incidentals, mints, Augustinius Bader lipbalm, the keycards to my apartment and office, a pair of Cartier glasses-
Sasha: Vampires need glasses?
Gideon: -My eyes can get tired if I have been looking at a computer screen for too long- and some cold-pressed plasma fruit juice. Your turn, kitten.
Sasha: Don't call me that.
Gideon: My feisty kitten.
Sasha: F*ck you.
Gideon: See? So fierce!
Sasha: Ok. Welcome to MY bag:
A Super Sim Saver Shopper reusable bag that Big Oso, the homeless guy near my house, gifted me for giving him a cigarette. My phone. It's about four years old and works perfectly fine, except that sometimes the sound cuts out randomly when you are playing music or on a phone call and the bottom right of the screen- like, the pixels are kinda f*cked up? It's OK, though.
Gideon: ...Do you want me to get you a new phone?
Sasha: This works fine.
Gideon: *Eye roll*
Sasha: I have my cigarettes and my zippo lighter.
Gideon: I thought you were trying to quit.
Sasha: I am, but it's wasteful to just throw it out! Then I have some change that some VERY GENEROUS customers left as tips for me at the diner. Next time I see them, I'm gonna-
Gideon: Um...Moving right along.
Sasha: This is an empty RadBull can. I think someone left it at the diner and we were closing and Hector told me to bus the damn table just as we were locking up, so I just tossed it into my bag. I should chuck it. Sh*t! I think it leaked a little! Oh, and this is the keycard to Gideon's. I keep it safe in this little pocket here.
Gideon: *Can't help grinning, pleased.*
Sasha: And these are some pretty leaves I saw on the ground at the Square in the Spice Quarter.
Gideon: That's really sweet, Sasha.
Sasha: Shut up! Now I'm going to smoke them! Oh, and there is a mechanical pencil and an eraser. Those are Tito's. I really should return them.
Gideon: That was fun, no?
Sasha: Wanna switch bags?
Gideon: [Chuckling] Do I get to keep you if I get the bag?
Sasha: Yeah...Whatever...*Finally cracks a rare smile.*

Oh boy, aren't you just tired of those damn opinions in your fandom?
If you would like to stop seeing my opinions and those of others who don't think exactly like you, i have a great little tool to tell you about called "Blocking."
By blocking me or anyone else who posts opinions that oppose your own, you no longer have to see our posts and we are incapable of interacting with your blog via likes, reblogs, replies, messages, or asks (unless we operate on side blogs, that is). Unfortunately, blocking someone on tumblr never will prevent them from seeing your posts, so you will just have to live with that fact. (Telling other people to block you does nothing positive for you!)
Here, i'll teach you how using myself as an example;
Blocking on your main blog vs your side blog are two different tasks, but ill explain both.
If you are on your main blog, you will need to click on the blog of the person you are wanting to block. It should look something like this.
You're going to want to click on that small button with three horizontal dots, which will open a drop down menu that looks like this:
Just click the bright red block button at the bottom, confirm your choice, and you can peacefully go about your life.
Blocking someone from interacting with a side blog is slightly more complicated. You're going to need to be on a desktop to follow this tutorial.
On the left hand side of the screen, you should see a bunch of options like this
You're going to want to click the drop down menu for "Account".
It's going to look like this. Click on whatever side blog you wish to block this blog for.
There will be a menu on the right hand side of the screen like so. You are going to want to click the "Blog settings" button at the bottom of the menu.
From here, you are going to scroll all the way down to the bottom of your blog setting. You'll see a bunch of stuff, ignore them, they're irrelevant to blocking. You will want to click the pencil button beside the pixelated pfps of blogs you have blocked.
From here the list of blogs you have blocked will drop down and open like so
You'll want to type the name of the blog you wish to block in the box at the top, like this.
Simply click the block button
and ✨VOILA ✨! Blocked!
Now you never have to see those pesty Different Opinions™ ever again! Though it may be a good idea to remember the usernames of the people you block for this reason, in case in the future you mature enough to be capable of civil, critical discussion with people who don't agree with you. Or don't! That's no skin off either of our backs :)
This tool is also quite helpful when someone posts art, fanfics, head canons, or whatever else you may not like. In fact, it is encouraged that you use the block button instead of harassing others, making call out posts, defaming others, or letting something that frustrates you linger in your head!
You should always use the block button when you see something that is triggering to you or puts you in distress. This alongside using the filtering system that tumblr has can keep you much safer. You can do your own part to help others by remembering to never censor words you use on tumblr.com and instead typing the entire word with no euphemisms. This will prevent your post from winding up on the dash/search for someone who has those subjects/words/tags filtered out.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk, and godspeed.

My #1 post of 2022
Okay so I know Juno probably reads Nureyev's journal in His Voice because he didn't know him back then and it's the only way he can picture him sounding. Since day one of knowing him that's just His Voice and Juno doesn t have the interest or need to make up some other silly voice for him while reading
But it's also something that's very funny to me that our boy Peter sounded like that at age 16. Like, he's always sounded like that, his voice is just Like That, not even awkward teen voice cracks, just suave (yet misrable) thief sounding. Maybe he simply woke up one day and wanted to sound like that, maybe someone he admired had a voice similar to that and wanted to replicate it and make it his own. Make it his brand, a part of his non-existent identity, a trademark if you will

I was suddenly without internet for a while, so there was no release last week, but everything is back to normal now, and I had a great couple weeks' work. The 'edit times' dialog can now handle multiple files.
full changelog
editing times for multiple files at once
If you launch 'edit times' on a single file, everything is the same. If you open it on a larger selection, it will now show, in a summarised way, the range of each particular time type, and how many files in the selection have or do not have a time set there. The controls all work as before, but in general, when you set a time, all files are now locked to that new time. Give it a play and you'll see how it all works.
SInce we don't always want to set exactly the same time to a set of files, but rather ideally a similar, staggered time, there is also a new 'cascade step' system in the multiple file version of the dialog. Every time-edit you open up has the ability to enter a little step, say 100ms, which will cause the dialog to set each successive file in the selection to be that much later (or earlier, negative values are allowed!) than the last. This way, if you have a bunch of files of something contiguous, like a comic chapter, that all have different, merged, or otherwise awkward import times, you can now manually sort them in the UI using tags or hackery and apply a new import time based on the first file plus a few milliseconds each time. Thereafter, any time you sort those files by import time, they'll also be nicely in page order time, just as if you had imported them all together from one directory.
I am quite happy with the new dialog, and I plan to copy some of the new techniques I figured out to other dialogs for similar better multi-file handling. I'd also really like, as we have discussed before, to tackle a 'cascading' tagger in 'manage tags', so we can quickly set 'page:n' tags to many files at once.
misc
In v559, it turns out I did make a '54 years ago' mistake, on moving files from one local file domain to another. This is fixed, and on database update, any borked timestamps that were saved should be corrected too. Let me know if you encounter any more issues.
Mr Bones and the File History Chart are now under the database menu.
There's a new checkbox under 'files and trash', 'Remove files from view when they are moved to another local file domain'. This actually re-introduces the unintended behaviour we had a couple weeks ago, which was happening under 'remove when trashed', but targeted to the correct logical trigger.
The gallery downloader cog button now has a 'don't add new dupes' option, which discards the query_text/source pairs you add if they are already in the download list. If you need to paste a hundred queries from a big mishmash list, I think this will help.
As a very brief test, I've added 'sort files by pixel hash'. If you have some pixel hashes in your current query, this will make them stand out, but the rest of the sort data is meaningless. I had wanted to try out some similar hacky new tech with 'sort by perceptual hash', but thumbnails don't have quick access to that data yet, so it'll have to wait.
I wasn't sure when my internet was going to come back up, so I dumped a bunch of time into some longer cleanup jobs. There's a ton of updated code behind the scenes, particularly around the way files get informed about new metadata, but nothing you need to care about. I have some new plans here and can see the path to getting all sorts of new metadata commands integrated into the shortcut and undo systems. I changed a couple thousand lines, so there may be a typo bug somewhere--let me know if you try to set any unusual content changes and it throws an error!
next week
Now we have tech that relies on file order, I think it is time we get the ability to conveniently reorder thumbnails. This will also help when I figure out cascading tagging in 'manage tags'. I'd love to have reordering by simple drag and drop, but that may be too complicated to slip into one week. I'll see what I can do.
I have quite a few messages to catch up on, which I will try to tackle Saturday.

I can't make any comments on legality because I have complicated feelings I'll put in the tags, but OP is right and the puzzle art is a really good analogy for how Stable Diffusion works. Like they said, the puzzle piece fitting happens at the pixel level to create "new" art.
For an example, this was taken directly from DALL-E 2 (a popular algorithm and data set) showing its variation function.
[Alt text: On the left. The original "Girl with a Pearl Earring" painting. On the right, AI generated variations of the painting]
The problem becomes that if you describe the image you want well enough, it will generate a straight up stolen image instead of making an amalgamation of images in a new, transformative way.
I use DALL-E to play a game with my AI team at work (yes, I'm one of those evil Artificial Intelligence engineers) where we generate art based on a piece of media and try to guess the media portrayed. It's a fun little game that helps get me going every morning.
Here is my entry for "Final Fantasy VII" along with the prompt I used to generate it.
[ALT TEXT: image prompt reads "A dark and moody anime image of a man with yellow spiky hair holding a large sword staring up at a skyscraper." the man also has a yellow cape despite that not being in the prompt.]
So... that yellow cape, huh? I wonder where that came from...
Honestly? I don't know enough anime to tell you immediately which characters wear yellow capes that DALL-E thought that this render of Cloud needed one, but I can guarantee you it pulled enough anime images and fanart to have learned it somewhere.
And that's really the problem here. I did not tell the AI to make a cape. That cape is not a creation of the AI either because, as OP said, true Sci fi level AI does not exist. The cape is here because the artwork it was trained on had enough anime men in capes to give Cloud one.
That's not a good thing.
How AI Datasets ACTUALLY Work
I love the irony of techbros shouting “YOU NEO-LUDDITES JUST DON’T KNOW HOW THE TECH WORKS” when they obviously don’t know how AI datasets that generate images work.
This is not true “artificial intelligence.” It doesn’t see images, form an understanding of them, then create something new. It’s not like a person looking at photos of frogs and then making a new painting of a frog.
That’s what tech bros seem to not get. True artificial intelligence WOULD be able to do that.
But the machine being fed real art is NOT artificially intelligent. What it does is take dozens of images and break them up into teeny tiny pieces, like a 5000-piece jigsaw puzzle but on a near pixel level. It also takes the understanding of those images based on what people say those images are.
Most puzzle-makers have the same die-cut, which means you can take pieces from multiple puzzles and put them together into something new. I won’t link it here so this post reaches the most people, but look up:
Puzzle Montage Art by Tim Klein
Examples of montage puzzle art:
What he did is EXACTLY what AI image generators do, except instead of using two or three artworks, one AI-generated image might use hundreds. And this is what those who actually understand the technology are trying to get across.
Right now, most things that exist are now fed into image datasets. The number of works that exist in midjourney and stable diffusion number in the literal billions. Datasets have stolen so much art that most people can’t fathom that kind of statistic because we’re just not capable of thinking in those kinds of numbers.
That’s why techbros think an art generator just takes inspiration from the works it has.
In reality, the reason tech-bros state that it takes them hours to get a particular set of prompts “just right” is because they are educating the machine. Basically, if you give it a set of prompts and it gives you something you don’t want, it is internally assigning labels to the pieces of the puzzle it gave you. Eventually, when you DO get what, the same datasets that produced those images will scrape them again and assign labels to pieces based on what is perceived as “correct.”
This is also why it is impossible to remove images from a dataset. Any image used to create an AI work must also exist within the work itself. Removing any one particular image necessitates finding and removing any child data produced from that image, or else the machine can literally just re-scrape it.
Currently, because a dataset uses the data from hundreds of images to create a new work and does not compensate the original artists for the use of their art, this qualifies as theft under international copyright law.
I hope providing a real-world example of how datasets work is helpful.
#i kind of see the eventual place of AI art being akin to fanfiction someday#just transformative enough to exist#but not transformative enough to make money off of#and i don't see that as a bad thing necessarily#i do believe in advancing the field and understanding of AI#and as someone who does know how Stable Diffusion works at a pretty robust level#the technology is super cool and innovative#but we need data to make these things work#and as someone who scrapes AO3 for data on the regular#these tech bros are making my life harder and pretty freakin annoying#because people get spooked#sometimes rightly so#a lot of the time not so rightly#and independent researchers like myself have a hard time doing our research

Entry 1.4.7-1 - Farming Simulator
Welcome to my blog. I’m not tagging anything but entry #, so sorry if my unrelated mess somehow ends up in your search.
1.4 is the first named minecraft update (if we don't count Adventure) which is cool I guess.
Our big goals this version are to create a large crop field for the three existing crops (two new ones :D) and to kill the wither three (3) times.
As I've been thinking toward the future of this world, I've realized I need to revamp my goals a bit, especially since I won't be able to open any naturally generating chests until 1.20 if I want to try to get armor trims faster. I've got a complete running list of goals here :)
I'll be killing a lot of zombies to try to get carrots and potatoes, which I'm not complaining about since I'll need a Lot of experience to enchant all of my armor if I want to survive.
oh nononono fuck no fuck that I'm not redoing everything.
I just double checked and there isnt even a new achievement it just decided to wipe. (update: achievements are linked to all worlds, so I can just get them back in a different creative world lmao)
......yeah I think some kind of barn will also need to be constructed, my sheep refuse to be contained. This'll be a full on barnyard farm I guess.
Okay first a quick distraction, forgot maps got improved and item frames were added. Idk when this will be properly displayed but here's a current look around our little village :)
Spent a night in the swamp north of the village (those maps are helping my sense of direction So Much) and while I didn't get any crops, I'm so happy slimes spawn here now.
Now that I've got 30 levels, let's see if I can't get my hands on a nice new pick enchantment
>:V
I've started putting down pens for my sheep, I'm thinking I'll have several of each color so that I can dick around with pixel art or carpets or whatever later. Currently i've got about 6 pens, trying to cover up some water so I can make it 8 (4 on each side) with maybe 2 colors to a pen? or I can resize them to be 16 individual pens but I'm not sure yet.
I've made some good progress on the farmland, I have four 9x9s of 3x3 farming spaces just so I'm prepped for when Beetroot is added. I think I'll have sugarcane and the stalk crops growing along the pathway between, but I still need to finish getting wood for these frames (excuse my floating leaves)
It's been kind of a pain getting the potatoes and carrots to drop from zombies though, maybe I should turn that dungeon from 1.0-2 into a grinder
Okay maybe I'll be fine without the grinder. Also got another disc finally.
Also went ahead and relocated my sheep, it was difficult to get them sorted (god I cannot wait for leads to be added) but I'm not 100% what I plan on doing with all of the overhead space. i need to finish the floors up there, but maybe I'll just throw some hay bales up? Unsure.
Still no carrots BUT I can now say the only discs I'm missing are Mellohi and 11. There won't be another disc added until Pigstep so it's exciting that I'm so close this early on. (also RIP my helmet. and basically all of my armor.)
Maybe next part I will make that zombie grinder. I could convert it into Drowned grinding for copper later too.
next (1.4.7-2)

A Short Hike
by adamgryu
Genre: Adventure, Platformer
Pitch: The real hike up the mountain is the friends you made along the way. A cozy, relaxed adventure of traversal challenges and running errands.
My expectations: I played this game almost three years ago. I finished it, I liked it, I never understood the passionate adoration for it.
Review:
A Short Walk defaults (left) to "chunky pixels," with options for higher resolutions (right).
You know what games people like? Animal Crossing and Zelda’s Wild Breath.
A Short Hike takes place on a cute, little island populated by cute, little animals with cute, little errands they can’t be bothered to do themselves. Fishing, digging up clearly marked spots, watering plants, buying hats, knocking money out of rocks with a shovel… Animal Crossing was more than an influence or inspiration. The look is copied. The music is copied. The only things that aren’t stolen from Animal Crossing come from Zelda.
All the aforementioned activities lead, after a fashion, to collecting gold feathers, which function as stamina. Increased stamina is vital for climbing taller cliffs. The primary goal is to reach a mountain peak, which means a whole lotta climbing and gliding and falling. And in case you’re thinking, “Lots of games have climbing and stamina,” there are a few unmarked digging spots with a striking resemblance to Korok seed puzzles.
It’s a fusion that works, though. This is a breezy, harmless romp (an hour to reach credits; several more for 100% completion) that’s packed with charm. Charm copied from other, better games, but as fan art goes, A Short Hike reaches impressive heights.
+ Animal Crossing and Wild Breath, innit? Two great tastes that taste great together. + Loads of side quests and hidden treasures for those who care; the freedom to ignore most of that for those who don't. + Nails just about everything it set out to do. Indie games often reach beyond their means, and that's not the case here. Nothing's sloppy or unfinished. + As someone who plays PC games with a third-party Switch controller that games natively mistake for an Xbox controller, I can't tell you how nice it is when a game lets me redefine a button and chose how that's button prompts will look in game. No need for Steam Big Picture workarounds! It says "A" and I press the A Button!
– The whole time I was playing, I was thinking about how much more fun I would have with the real Zelda and Animal Crossing. Of course, those games are a significantly bigger time investment, and they carry hefty price tags, so maybe A Short Walk is a better choice for you. – I love simple controls! We don't need all those buttons! But maybe a game where the primary actions are talking, jumping, and climbing shouldn't use the same button for all three. – One active item at a time, with no shortcuts. The item menu places every item in a straight line, not a circle or a grid, adding needless steps when switching items. Picking up a new item automatically makes it active. Minor but irritating. – SPOILER/CONTENT WARNING: There's some sick mom stuff that comes out of nowhere. I'm going to assume the writer is injecting something real and personal with this story beat. That emotional challenge could be the reason he made this game. Whatever the case, it is tonally disorienting. There are hints of darkness here and there—grumbling about college debt, bones popping out of the graves for us sickos who can't resist using a shovel everywhere—but this is the only moment that I thought truly broke the cheery, escapist tone. Maybe that contrast is supposed to make it hit harder, but it didn't work for me at all, and it seems like a potentially nasty surprise for those who really need a few hours of cheery escapism.
🧡🧡🧡🧡🤍
Bottom Line: Couldn't be more derivative, but that won't stop the dopamine from flowing as you scale rocks and compulsively gather shells. Not a full meal, but a very tasty snack. Just watch out for that story twist if you have any sensitivities.

Rounding up a few responses here:
Anon:
"All are ignorant of the idea that minors are the foundation to fandom. Fandom would not exist if it wasn't for minors being interested in it and starting groups for people to join. Often times, the best artists and writers in the fandoms are THE MINORS." Fandom was made and exists thanks due to grandmas writing horny star trek fic and sharing them with their friends, fandom was popularized by their adult daughters writing smut for other fandoms and sharing those with their friends, then even more so by their adult daughters writing and sharing more horny fics with each other. Adults are the foundation and main part of fandom. We're the ones who actually had the money to mail each other fanart and fanfics before the internet became popular. We're the ones who has the money to buy computers and use them and had the knowledge to access forums before social media became a thing and child were allow online by the majority. We're the ones who made all these popular fansites and fan focused social medias you use now, are the original users and still are the primary users. We're the ones who write those amazing fics and draw those amazing fanarts and host the vines, and organize the cons and month challenges like whump/ink/etc-tober, we're the ones who do the hard work that minors just don't have the experience, skill, or even just money to do "Adults make the space uncomfortable by inserting themselves and putting NSFW fics and art of minor characters. Then they get pissy when a minor points out it makes them uncomfortable and go "stop invading our space!" You are the ones trying to push minors out when we just want to have fun! Just leave us alone!" Minors make adults uncomfortable because they can't stop projecting onto every little thing, including bug eyed, bare human looking pixels, and try to accuse adults of horrible things because they're uncomfortable and self centered and too young and stupid to realize they aren't fucking pixels but flesh and there's a huge fucking difference between them and pixels. Minors make adults uncomfortable by inserting themselves into adult spaces and topics rather then being mature like they claim to be and blocking/filter people/tags, and getting pissy when told they don't own the internet/website and that unless as space is specifically marked for minors it isn't for minors, and trying rewrite history to make that space theirs because their entitled fucking snot nose twerps who need to play in a park and not be online. Your the ones trying to push adults out when were using the internet we fucking pay for because you want everything to be for you. Get the fuck off the internet until you have your own job and pay your bills and aren't leaching off mommy and daddy anymore
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
“Constantly inserting yourself into fandom” tell that to minors who would constantly barge into designated adult spaces without the owner seeking them out. I’ve had THREE separate instances of “minors do not interact”, in my about me, in my byf, and in my pinned post. This is not counting the ones on my ao3 profile and each of my fic posts just above the “read more” Which I already put as “warning: snuff, death, dark funtimes under the cut, minors do not interact” on, yknow, every fic post. Not to mention I write for a 18+ work that despite what some minors think are still 18+ even if the characters featured are “high schoolers”. Yet despite all this precaution I STILL get anons shouting and screaming that I’m a criminal irl, I should get doxxed and should die, and all that stuff.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
The person insisting with their whole chest that children make the fandoms (yes, even for kid's shows) and not adults sounds exactly the same level of cuckooness as the person a few problems ago who claims queer people made and started fandom.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
As a roleplayer, I have it in my rules that I won't interact or roleplay with a minor under the age of 18, but also that I'm more comfortable with interacting with 21+. I just want to thank all of the minors out there who are responding to this post, because you all are convincing me that I made the right decision to have this in my rules. And you guys wonder why adults don't want to roleplay with you? Just look at all of these responses and it will answer your question. Over half of you have the victim complex just because adults exist.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
All are ignorant of the idea that minors are the foundation to fandom. Fandom would not exist if it wasn't for minors being interested in it and starting groups for people to join. Often times, the best artists and writers in the fandoms are THE MINORS. I laughed out loud at this. Sorry. This is so removed from reality it sounds like a troll threw it into the ether for people to get mad at. If whoever wrote this legit believes this, for the love of god, please get some perspective and do some reading.
Posting a compilation of replies to Fandom Problem #5796.
Anon:
"Don't you think that minors would be more polite if..." No. No I don't. I was a minor in fandom. I also grew up at the dawn of the internet age and had internet safety pounded into my head from the age of 10 onward. If I interacted online at all outside of viewing and reading, I knew better than to be an asshole, because the internet has always been an adult sphere. I saw other minors get well deserved internet smackdowns for acting stupid online. If the kids are in actual kids spaces, then fine, leave them alone, that's their space. If they're on Xitter or Tumblr.com or A03 and acting the fool? No. You're in an adult space, interacting with adults, and those adults aren't there to cater to or coddle you. Which media the adult in question happens to like is irrelevant. You came into our spaces and started throwing a shit fit because you, a minor, didn't like what you, a minor, saw in our, adults, adult spaces. Most of the time we don't care if you're being cringe and having fun. Go, have fun, be cringe be free all that. Some kids are great and here to learn and have fun and are able to actually read the fandom room and know how to act like a respectable human while also having a good time. But if you're being antagonistic and hateful because you literally just are not mature enough to handle/comprehend what's going on in the space, then you don't need to be in the space at worst. At best, sit down, hush, and learn rather than running at the mouth about how you hate x y z thing because eww icky or you think it's problematic to your current pet social issue that doesn't even have anything to do with it. Kids are some of the biggest natural bullies out there. Kids being assholes to each other isn't just a trope, it's why secondary school/highschool was hell for so many people. Adults aren't all assholes, we're just better at calling kids out on their bullshit and don't have the patience for the "but I'm a minor" nonsense. Being a minor doesn't mean you're free from consequences, but some of y'alls parents clearly never taught you that. They aren't puritans, they're being idiots because they literally have no concept of fandom history and are just parroting nonsense that's been spoon-fed to them by other idiots. And rather than question things like anyone with critical thinking skills should be doing they take it all at face value and believe their own poor understanding or lack thereof is gospel, and everyone suffers for it, including other minors who also don't know better.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
Fandom isn't just for minors though. Adults are allowed to be in fandoms even if it is uncomfy to minors. Adults are allowed to make NSFW of fictional characters in fandom if they want to. If minors don't like it, they can just ignore it. If minors want to be respected, they should also respect adults in fandom spaces. Complaints like "adults shouldn't be here" or "you are an adult, go get a job instead!" does not make you any better.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
I agree with this tbh. Like adults are the ones making things unsafe for minors in fandom spaces. YOU are the ones who approach minors unprompted. Minors are just minding their own business in fandom, then you all come along and bother everyone.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
I agree with this post, cause like... the ones doing the most harassing are adults. I am a minor, and it makes me feel unsafe in fandom spaces. Especially when I see adults drawing nsfw of characters who are MINORS! aging them up does not excuse that gross and creepy behavior. Just stop and give us a space where we don't get pushed into a corner and called annoying. Leave our fandom spaces!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
When I was 17 so technically a technically still a minor I would have to keep my age off of all my blogs and accounts because so many other minors have ruined being younger in a fandom space. Literally just having my age up affected my numbers and how seriously I was taken. Y’all are not innocent though stop playing victim there are valid reasons why people don’t like you. Tons of younger kids these days are entitled overly sensitive and somehow both pretentiously “woke” and super disrespectful at the same time. So yea saying this as someone with pretty recent memories of being a minor online so many of you are actually insane and people not feeling comfortable around you is completely valid especially when you’re typing stuff like this up as your best defense. Especially with darker or NSFW stuff you don’t have to look we aren’t shoving down your throat you chose to be here just look away.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
I see people getting mad about Fandom Problem #5796, but that kind of is just proving the point? You all act like the minors are the biggest problem in fandom, but you are the ones constantly inserting yourselves and making it about you. I see adults say things like: - "Fandom wouldn't exist without adults." - "Who do you think created fandom? Not minors!" - "Minors wouldn't have content if it weren't for adults." All are ignorant of the idea that minors are the foundation to fandom. Fandom would not exist if it wasn't for minors being interested in it and starting groups for people to join. Often times, the best artists and writers in the fandoms are THE MINORS. Adults make the space uncomfortable by inserting themselves and putting NSFW fics and art of minor characters. Then they get pissy when a minor points out it makes them uncomfortable and go "stop invading our space!" You are the ones trying to push minors out when we just want to have fun! Just leave us alone! -A minor
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anon:
Of course, 5796 has a corollary: "To the minors who constantly complain about adults in fandom being mean to them: don't you think adults would be more polite to minors if said minors didn't make fun of them, didn't treat them like shit everywhere they went, didn't blame them for all the problems on the internet, didn't publicly shame them for minor social faux pas, didn't call them "pedophiles" for anything from liking an icky ship to saying two words to a minor in passing to just existing peacefully in a space where a child might theoretically be present, and didn't try to gatekeep them out of fandom spaces that were literally made by and for them?? And don't give me that "well we just want to be safe! 🥺" Bs. Because if that were in any way true, then y'all would be listening to the safety tips that the adults are giving you, not using them as a scapegoat for anything bad happening in fandom and generalizing them as these eeeevil predators who just hate children." It doesn't matter what your age is; if you refuse to behave in a given space, then you won't be welcome in that space.

A little more about me:
I started playing Fallen London in December of 2020 after being recommended to it by a friend, and since that day it has consumed my waking thoughts. I’ve done more or less everything in the game to this point: Railway, Discordance, SMEN, Paramount, Irem. I have played all the ambitions except Light Fingers, but I don’t intend to do that one, though I have friends who told me the whole story minus the triggering parts lol. I’ve finished all four ambitions in Sunless Skies. Don't intend to play Sunless Sea. Still working my way through Mask of the Rose... I wasn't a huge fan of it lol.
I love the Calendar Council/Revolutionaries and I play Black on the chessboard. At the same time, I love the Masters because I love villains and I love bats. The Masters are scary powerful, the Masters are cartoonishly evil, the Masters are fluffye, the Masters are comically incompetent clowns, etc etc. In addition to Fallen London, I love math, literature, and history. Looking at social issues in fiction is important and interesting to me. I'm so very gay for space.
Here’s my first OC introduction post for the archives, although it’s quite outdated at this point.
A final note:
By nature, this blog is an inclusive space. No sort of bigotry or harassment is tolerated here, nor is any sort of “fandom discourse.” I’m too tired for that. It isn’t anyone’s business what fiction someone consumes in their personal time, and it’s your responsibility to avoid content you don’t want to see, and that’s the end of the argument.

potential gif maker anon back AND THANK U seriously everything u said was extremely helpful and detailed which is perfect!! i probably should have mentioned that im extremely new to gifs😬 and all as in i know nothing, so questions for now if u have the time: if u could explain the importing beginning process and the best way to find pictures/clips for them ??? I'll have to start messing around with it but ill probably be back 😅 again thank u so much for the rundown of your process it helps a ton and means alot 💗💗💗 also good luck on the current gifset your working on i know it'll turn out great!!!
oh hello future gif maker! happy to help. i put some tips below the cut. also please tag me when you make your gifs so i can see! if you want, of course 😌 i'd love to see your art!
OKAY so. first you'll need the scene you wanna gif. my gifs are usually around 45-60 frames each, so the clips are about 1.5 seconds. sometimes a little more or less, depending on the type of edit i want to do.
when you have your clips ready to import (you can DM me if you need help with getting/trimming clips!), open up photoshop. then head to file - import - video frames to layers. load your clip from wherever you saved it.
now you have your gif! make sure you go to window and select timeline so you can see all your frames. you can delete frames to make your file smaller, or just remove frames you don't need. if you're happy with it, leave them be!
now you can crop. this tool is on the left side menu. cut out whatever you don't want in the scene. just keep in mind that you'll then need to resize. to do this, go to image - image size. you want these to be measured by pixels! tumblr has specific width dimensions for uploading in HQ. i'll put those below. the bigger your gif, and often the more editing you do, the bigger the file size will be - and you want it to be below 10 MB. mine are usually around 5-7 MB to be safe.
also be sure to adjust the frame delay, this is how fast the gif will move. do this via your timeline - select all frames, then click the frame delay setting to edit. i usually set mine at 0.05 or 0.06, sometimes 0.07 if there aren’t as many frames. OR if i want a slower effect, even up to 0.08. this just depends on the look you want.
now you're ready to sharpen and color! and when you're done: file - export - save for web. we can go over those settings when you're ready, but hopefully this will help you get started. please let me know if you have questions as you go!
#learning to do this is the best thing i did in the last year#it's been so nice to practice and learn#very soothing! but also very frustrating sometimes skdjfh#so let me know if i can help#and have fun!#mel answers#photoshop tutorial

Friday 1/10/21 - Media Recommendations #20
Contents: Deltarune
I'd been meaning to get to this one for ages, so once again, I think to make it easier on myself, and my readers, today I am only recommending the latest videogame creation of Toby Fox. This ended up being quite an extensive article, so I split it into sections:
MY CONTEXT
OVERVIEW/PREMISE
GAMEPLAY
PRESENTATION
CONCLUSION
Deltarune (Chapter 1+2)
Toby Fox
1. MY CONTEXT
So context for my own gaming experience going into Deltarune, I have never actually played Undertale. Back when Undertale was getting big, it was only a PC game I think, and I just don't play games on PC. I probably should but yeah nah. Soon after it got popular however, I watched a comprehensive Lets Play of Undertale by Rubber Ross and Barry Kramer, and their voices for Sans and Papyrus are still to this day how I imagine those characters. Through that Lets Play, I experienced both the Pacifist and Genocide runs, and got intimately well acquainted with the characters and world Toby Fox had created, and how the actions of the player can shape how we save or ruin that world.
As a general context, I have always been a person who likes the idea of turn-based, random encounter fantasy RPGs, but the deepest I really got was Pokémon. I've been trying to change that recently, and after beating Monster Hunter Stories 2 a while back, I wanted to try more of the genre. Turn based battles are a lot more my speed than pure skill, like fighting games I've become sick of, and RPGs seem to be big on story, so when I heard the Deltarune demo had an update, I thought this is finally the time to jump into that world.
Going forward in this review, I'm gonna try and stay broad and unspecific with my descriptions, so as to not spoil. I may discuss some gameplay themes and characters, but I'm avoiding giving specifics away. I really think you need to experience all parts of the game yourself first.
Minor Spoilers for Undertale and Deltarune Ahead
2. OVERVIEW/PREMISE
Deltarune is a project of love. Pure charm and personality ooze from every aspect of the game. Dialogue is clever and snarky, and that charm even leaks into item and location flavour text. The setting and themes are fun, but with a bloodstained silver lining that is best appreciated by mature audiences. I guess I should just explain the premise?
Deltarune puts you in the shoes of a human named Kris. For unexplained reasons you live in a world of monsters and you are the only human. And by monsters, I mean curious looking critters of a variety of shapes and sizes, since, there is really nothing monstrous about them. One day at school, Kris and classmate Susie end up being transported to a whole different world where dark fountains construct monstrous subworlds, and it is up to the chosen ones, the lightners Susie, Kris and darkner (dark world native) Prince Ralsei, to seal the evils of this dark alternate world.
Deltarune is still a work in progress, and as the subtitle of this article suggests, 2 Chapters of a possible 7(?) have been released, and it is unknown at the time of writing if the rest will come out when the game is done, or as more standalone chapters.
3. GAMEPLAY
Deltarune borrows a lot of theming and game loop premise from its parent game Undertale. The tag line of Undertale was: the RPG where noone has to die. This is because the encounter based battle system is built on two courses of action to take. You may FIGHT enemies and reduce their HP to zero, or you may ACT, and talk the enemy into leaving the battle. Deltarune is built on this same system, but with extra layers. Kris is the stand in for the Undertale MC, who has the options to FIGHT, ACT, ITEM, SPARE, or GUARD. Most of those options were in Undertale too, but Guarding is a new addition where you earn Tension Points, or TP, for not engaging the enemy at all.
This TP is used for extra powerful ACT actions, or for special moves of the other party members. This is the main big difference in gameplay loop. Since the player controls a party now rather than just one person, each party member can specialise in different action types. Kris's ACT can incorporate input from other party members; Susie for toughness and Ralsei for softness, in general. Susie is the powerhouse, and if you chose the violent route, she does more damage. Ralsei is the Mage, and can heal allies, as well as use magic to resolve fights peacefully. Those extra abilities use TP.
In most turn based RPGs, there is a back and forth, where the player chooses actions, and sometimes there is a timing aspect to how well those actions perform, and then there's the enemy's turn, where most of the time you just have to wait and let it happen. Undertale and Deltarune have this truly unique system where the soul of the party members, represented by a heart, is directly controlled on the enemy's turn. It's a mini game unique to every enemy type, where you must move the heart around to dodge their attacks, and how good you dodge will decide whether you take a lot of damage, or even none at all. Deltarune adds an extra layer onto this, where if you make the dodge closer, so that the enemy only JUST misses, you earn TP, and open up more options for your next turn. I found this extra detail really endearing, and I made a lot more riskier moves than if there was no incentive to.
I probably mentioned it above, but just to close out this section, the option to either ACT or FIGHT opens up two types of play. Chapter 1, being a sort of intro part, does not differentiate, but the distinction becomes important later. ACTing to SPARE an enemy earns you money, and in Chapter 2, will lead to befriending monsters. FIGHTing will also earn you EXP in Chapter 2, making your options to hurt enemies more powerful. In Undertale, this difference in playstyle actually changed the ending in real time, and from what we know of Deltarune, it is likely going to be the same case.
4. PRESENTATION
Undertale had this unique visual charm to it that may have been a limitation of its Independent Development, but it was probably also a stylistic choice. Deltarune builds on the same type of artstyle, adorable pixel sprite graphics that bring a lot more colour and depth than its predecessor.
Many, but not all characters have little character portraits in their textboxes, and they change expressions to match the situation, and its so cute.
Character and enemy design are so top-notch. A team of designers have been brought on this time, and every one of them have brought gold to the table. Every random battle encounter is dripping with personality, as you learn how best to sweet talk your way out of battle, or how to best destroy them. Most recurring NPCs are lovable, and those who you hate, you love to hate. Dialogue is witty and hilarious, and the writing is fun.
The chiptune style soundtrack is phenomenal. Although I think Undertale's common enemy battle them was more memorable, that may just be that I have become more familiar with it. All character and boss battle themes are so catchy and energetic. Toby Fox is a master of high energy... fun music. It gets stuck in your head, and your brain bounces around at high velocity.
5. CONCLUSION
Ok so this review is already like 3 times longer than a normal Media Recommendation Article, and like 5 times longer than I planned it to be for this one game, so I should probably wrap it up here. Deltarune is a game experience I put off playing for way too long, and now I can't hold my excitement for when the next part comes out. And important to keep in mind, it is essentially a demo, in that it is just a taste of what's to come, but it is a damn meaty demo that will keep you engaged for many hours.
Chapters 1 and 2 are packaged together as a free game on most game platforms at this point, so there's nothing really stopping you from giving it a try. I don't usually rate my recommendations, but since I wrote this more like a review, I might as well...
Deltarune Chapter 1+2: 9/10
Please play it!

Day 252 of spreading positivity with quotes and @playchoices characters. Quote in edit by Charles Glassman
Bringing the #SpreadJoy quotes back since I've seen an uptick of negativity and hate in the fandom and it's literally making me sick.
Putting this rant below the cut so you can ignore it. Please don't send me hate for calling out people that send hate!
This past year and half have been horrible; if you've enjoyed this time, please send me your secret to how, because omgosh I need it!
People are doing the best they can. For many people it's creating for characters that they found something they can relate to or simply as a means to escape the world. The world sucks and a lot of people are in really bad places right now.
People are allowed to like any character they wish, post any content about said character (as long as it is not offensive to another group), and enjoy their own personal account.
Do you have to like who they like? No. Do you have to enjoy their work? No. Do you need to support their work? No. Do you need to read works with triggering content? No. Do you need to support artists whose work/style/content you don't agree with/find triggering/unsettling (or whatever else you want to call it)? No. Do you need to call them out because you don't like it? NO. (read that again) Do you need to send hate? Still no. Do you need to make fun of their work? Take screenshots of their work? Call them out in any way? NO! Just NO!
Stop calling people out because you don't like what they produce. There is this really AMAZING, handy tool, that you can use instead.... it is called BLOCK.
I know, this is brand new information, so let me tell you more. You can block a user completely, or you can block a tag. Maybe you hate Keiki Lahela (🥺), block her tag and never see her content again. Maybe you're tired of me. It happens. add my username to your block list and *Magic* I'm gone. You will never have to see my content again!
Is there a user you like but don't like when they post a certain series or topic because it's triggering? Fine, send them a polite message asking if they could please tag it. I would assume most people would rather have a nice message and be asked to use tags so you can block it, rather than receive hate messages or be called out publically.
Tumblr is an oasis for a lot of people who are going through some really hard times. Some people are surviving day by day. You don't know what anyone is going through. You don't know what their physical or mental health is like. You don't know what calling them out is doing to them. Please take a moment to think about what you're doing before you send hate or create posts calling people out. Can't we be better than that?
I realize that by this point if you made it here, I'm probably preaching to the choir, but thanks for sticking with me. I came across 2 different hate things in this fandom yesterday (neither related to me) but it made me sick, because, what if it was me? Would someone stand up and do something? So for those that can't or those that are too scared, this is for you. I wish I could do more to help.
Can't we all just do better? or at least try?
Let's all enjoy our little corner of the world and find some solace in these pixel characters we love.

Skies are different in Vancouver
Pairing: Jensen Ackles x fem!Reader
Summary: You have a hard time while your finance is in Vancouver for three months. However, you know that Jensen will always return to you in the end.
Word Count: 1,106
Warnings: Fluff, a bit angsty
Author’s Note: Based on this request by Anonymous Could I request for a Jensen Ackles x Female reader? I haven’t been doing so good lately and I’d really like an angsty and fluffy one shot. Maybe the reader is going through something bad and is touch starved and lonely while Jensen is away filming. He notices it and comes home to help her? I hope you like it and that you're feeling better soon! Enjoy and shower it with your love, guys!
Like always, my tag lists are OPEN
Check out my other stories: Masterlist
The first rays of the sun woke you from your sleep that morning. Like the nights before, you felt as if you hadn't slept at all. You were tired and you were in pain. Sleepy, you rubbed your eyes until your vision became clear.
With a sigh you realized that you had rolled back to Jensen's side of the bed in your sleep. But his strong arms had not welcomed you there. A glance at the alarm clock next to your bed told you that it was just a little after six in Vancouver. Jensen would have to get up soon to get ready for the shoot today.
Your fiancé had already been in Canada for two months and the distance between the two of you became more and more unbearable every day. It was a hard time for both of you. You missed him so much that there were no words to describe how much you yearned for his closeness.
You got up and began to prepare for the day. All day long you tried to distract yourself from the fact that 3,629 kilometers separated you, the distance from Austin to Vancouver - without success. Again and again your thoughts drifted to him.
It happened while you were sitting on the porch with a book. You had read the same sentence for the fourth time, but again and again your thoughts had drifted to Jensen. You wondered what he was doing now. Whether he was on a break or standing in front of the camera with Misha and Jared? Was he just sitting in his mask with a coffee and thinking about you? Did he miss you as much as you missed him? The ringing of your cell phone ripped you out of your murky thoughts. You put the book aside and ran inside to get your phone from the kitchen block where you had left it earlier. The caller ID flashed and your heart skipped a beat. With quick steps you crossed the spacious kitchen and at the last moment you reached your mobile phone, which sounded the typical Skype ringtone.
"Hey, Jensen." you greeted your fiancé in the familiar surroundings of his trailer. "Hey there, babe." Jensen's deep, cheerful voice sounded tinny from the speakers of your mobile phone and yet it sent a familiar shiver down your spine. It was so good to hear his voice. It took a moment for the image to clear and for you to finally have him in front of you. He beamed at you and the screen froze, so it looked like he was moving in slow motion. His beautiful, apple-green eyes were pixelated and you felt a longing pull in your heart. How you'd like to see the sparkle that they wore whenever Jensen looked at you. But the quality of the video transmission was not good enough.
Jensen examined you closely. "You look tired, baby," he said, and his face took on a serious expression. "Look at yourself." you jokingly tried to avoid his question. It was true. The actor looked tired, his face looked pale, which made the freckles stand out even more. But Jensen wasn't deterred by your maneuver. "I had a hard day. But seeing you makes up for everything. How are you? You look very exhausted. Don't you sleep well?" Of course, Jensen had noticed the dark circles around your eyes.
"I'm fine, Jay. Don't worry about me." You tried to reassure your worried fiancé. "I can see you're not fine, sweetheart." he murmured softly, as if those words were meant just for you and him. "I just miss you so much." "I miss you, too, baby. But it's only three more weeks and then we're done." You swallowed. Three more fucking weeks. That's 21 days. 504 hours. 30,240 minutes. 1,814,400 seconds. Time stretched as thick as bubble gum. "We can do it. I love you." Jensen promised you. You nodded and were about to open your mouth when he interrupted you. "Someone is calling for me. I have to go to the set now. See you tomorrow, baby. Sleep well." Before you could even respond, your fiancé hung up and the screen went black. "I love you, too," you mumbled, knowing that he couldn't hear it anymore.
After you had prepared your dinner and were now sitting alone at the big dining table that you usually shared with Jensen, you just stirred listlessly in your food before dropping the spoon onto the plate. You had no appetite anyway. It was strange, because you could have sworn that no one had called for Jensen just before he hung up. You put your head in your hands. It was difficult to have a relationship with an actor. Jensen went on shooting for months, was loved by thousands of fans who would take your place at the slightest opportunity and you could never be sure if Jensen was just playing a role for you.
Angry at yourself, you put the bowl in the sink. What were those thoughts? Of course you trusted your husband. You just based your doubts on the fact that you hadn't held each other in your arms for so long. You tried to relax in front of the TV before you went to bed, but you didn't really notice the images flickering on the TV. Tiredness affected your limbs like leaden heaviness and with your fingers groping for the remote control you turned off the TV.
You hauled yourself laboriously up the stairs before you finally fell into your soft bed. You painfully realized how cold the mattress next to you was. Hurriedly you closed your eyes in the hope that sleep would soon carry you off into other worlds.
It was very early in the morning, the sun had not yet risen, when a sound tore you from your sleep. You couldn't name it and were just about to turn around and go back to sleep when you felt the mattress of your bed sink under a strange weight. Suddenly, a pair of strong arms tightened around you. Sleepy, you turned around. "Hmm, Jensen?" Your voice was still covered by sleep, while you felt your fiancé pull you tighter against his chest and buried his nose in your hair. "Yeah, it's me, baby. Go back to sleep." his deep voice resounded in the darkness. You had missed the dark rumbling in his chest.
"But - how? You can't just--" you muttered, your mind still as muddled as cotton wool from sleep. "I told them that I need quality time with my girl."
That was all you needed to hear.

#addiction #gambling #gacha #I still end up playing a lot of gacha type games cause I have fatigue issues #which means I can't play more involved games #but I need to play some games cause I have adhd and get bored too easily which is torcher #so I'm stuck with these bullshit games #that can barely be called games tbh #so I have to have a lot of stoppers to make sure I don't end up over spending #like my sis who gets mad when I imply she has an app addiction when she tells me she's spend several thousand dollars on an app in less #than a week (tags courtesy of @skydemonizark)
.
All the above. And honestly? For those people lucky enough to not be at risk of a gambling addiction, who do “gamble responsibly” on gacha games:
Don’t.
Please don’t support these games.
Take it from someone in the industry, who has toured development studios and turned them down: big companies centered around gacha mechanics / loot boxes / microtransactions are insanely predatory.
I am not exaggerating when I say that, for all the studios I’ve seen, every single facet of these games is designed with addiction in mind.
Their entire design cycle centers around drilling as deep as possible into the psychology of “How can we get people hooked on our games? How do we make them spend as much time and money here as possible?” right down to the music, color choices, and sound effects. Their artists are micromanaged to hell and back. The designers brag about their biggest spenders and cheerfully insist they’re just rich people with a comfortable income to waste – because why else would anyone knowingly spend so much money on virtual winnings?
Don’t introduce your friends to them. Don’t give them your money if you can help it. Don’t.

#I was very lucky to grow up in a house with a real slot machine my dad got by being in the right place at the right time #and to see him open up the back to be able to change the payout rate from easy to difficult was a real eye opener #I played it a lot with the nickels he always had beside the machine and never got a jackpot but lots of little 'wins' that were motivating #seeing how it worked up close like that really was illuminating (tags courtesy of @hrhthebirthdayprincess)
#i will not spend my money on a pixel… #it may be a very enticing pixel #but the light goes out and what do you have?? #nothing but regret!! #I’ve been playing genshin and tot for a year without giving them a single peso and it will stay that way (tags courtesy of @marifer0502)

Want to spread a resource: https://www.darkpattern.games/
dark pattern has articles on gameplay patterns that are used to manipulate how you play a game and/or how much money you spend on it. There are also lists for games breaking down what patterns they feature/dont feature, like grinding, daily rewards, and wait to play. Plus, there’s a list of games that don’t have exploitative features.

Everytime I make a post like "don't spend money on gacha" I get a bunch of angry replies to tell me "actually it's POSSIBLE to gamble responsibly" and "mh how AM i a bad person for deciding to spend MY own money that I earned MYSELF?"
and man... I really wish that people understood that when I say "Don't spend money on gacha, it might kickstart a gambling addiction" or "if you regularly spend money on gacha you might already have one" I don't mean it as a moral judgement. Addiction isn't something that solely affects "bad" or "stupid" people. Addiction isn't some punishment that is deserved. If you suffer from any kind of addiction, you deserve help. But the first step of getting that help is acknowledging there is a problem in the first place.
also: while this applies to all addictions, gacha addictions especially suck because people keep trivializing it. There are so many memes and so much enabling like "lol just spent all my savings on gacha :p" "3000$ for my waifu, a pretty cheap price!" "lol it's too late for me I already spend so much on it but you guys stay safe!" "Don't spend on gacha? No, spend MORE on gacha!" which I believe only adds fuel to the virulent hostility against any post that goes "hey, this isn't normal, please be careful."
So yeah all this talk to say: the best way to not get a gambling addiction is to not start gambling at all, so don't spend money on gacha. If you do spend money on gacha, be careful and watch out that "I'm just spending ten bucks and nothing else" doesn't morph into "I just spent 140 bucks and got nothing out of it, might as well add ten more at this point." If you have a gacha addiction and are aware of it, I wish you safety and recovery.

hello my dude! i am also going into freshman year in the fall! i've been wanting to start a bujo for a while but i really don't know where to start lol. i read your post about keeping a bujo for a month, but i was wondering if you had any more tips for someone who is often times unmotivated and forgetful. thank you !!
hey anon !! sorry if i took a little bit longer to answer, i wanted to get on my laptop this morning and answer this one ^^
so! you want to start a bujo !! yay !! here are some things to start with if you’re a bit lost on getting started:
make an index. making an index to your bujo will let you know where everything is. it really does keep everything organized!
make a key/reference page. making this page will allow you to know and keep track of symbols and other things for your bujo. for example, for tasks, i have diamonds, for events circles, reminders squares, etc.
start off making trackers/fun things. make the first few pages a few little trackers and other fun things to make your journal fun and personal. here are some ideas!
- 2017 goals
- a birthday page where you keep everyone’s birthday
- a wishlist page where you put down and track all the things you’d like to have
- a music page where you write down all your favorite songs
- a bujo page idea list
- a monthly future log to track future events
- a recipe page to keep all your favorite recipes
- a year in pixels page
- a movie tracker page
these are just a few off the top of my head !! please don’t feel limited to these and make pages that you like and will be useful/suit your needs !!
then !! we get into monthly and daily spreads. this is for tracking all your events and truly making your bujo useful and your own. you will find inspo on these all over tumblr and the studyblr community, but if you want to know what im inspired by and what my bujo looks like, head over to my inspiration tag and my posts. !!
well that’s about it for starting on the right track and making your bujo :)
now, for feeling unmotivated/forgetful:
since im on tumblr a bunch, im always motivated with inspiration flowing all around me, so!! i suggest following blogs that inspire you and really just make yourself somewhere to go to when you’re feeling unmotivated.
being forgetful!! ahh,, being forgetful. let me tell you: consistency is key. if you don’t use your bullet journal, you’ll forget about it and not be successful with it! make sure your bujo is around most of the time, so you get some things in there and keep in consistent.
now !! dont feel pressured about bullet journalling, it truly is one of those things that are for you or aren’t for you. bujoing is definitely not for everyone, so when you’re starting out, take a step back and really ask yourself if this is what you want to do, and if you feel good about doing it. if you find out you don’t like it, that’s fine !! an alternative if you still want to control your life are just regular planners. i started with this! and it could be better for you :)
so, thank you for asking me, i kind of really wanted to touch on this subject, so this ask gave me the little push that i needed. i hope this was helpful !!
