okay so spoilers for autopsy simulator (2024), though i doubt anyone cares. and if you do wanna play, i'd say play for the gameplay and not the story so yknow. also warning i yap for several paragraphs

the gameplay is (unsurprisingly) the highlight. apparently, the devs directly got real doctors' insight, and it shows, especially when combined with the very realistically textured bodies. there's little ig i would call them minigames? for each thing (like cutting organs you have to move your cursor w/o bumping into the walls of the outline). honestly it kind of reminds me of like. girlsgogames LMAO

though, sometimes what you're supposed to do isn't very clear. and unlike most games where if you take a while your character will say some dialogue to tell you what do you, you're just supposed to. figure it out yourself.

i saw ppl on backloggd say it was buggy but i never encountered any – just finicky mechanics. for like 10 minutes i was stuck on draining a body of blood because i couldn't find the minuscule amount left, and there were a few times the camera was very awkward to use.

the story (until the last like hour) is fairly interesting. the VA for your character was fr putting his work in and i'd say his reactions to things is somewhat realistic. like bro hallucinates a demon and he's just like "what the FUCK is happening" lmao

i feel like the two main things that really fucked this whole game up was the "horror" and the ending. for a supposed horror game, it wasn't really scary at all. in a five-hour experience, i got about four genuine scares (not including vague atmospheric things that are meant to unnerve you). this game advertises itself as a combination simulator and horror game, but there's no sandbox mode and barely any horror.

the ending...... oh god the ending. basically the whole game your character is grieving his dead wife. at the end of the game, you find out you were the one that killed her (technically an accident) and just lied about it to save your career. her brother in law, who has also been helping you the whole game, kidnaps you and goes on this whole villain monologue spiel. he (a southern cop btw) shoots the black guy (not earning yourself points here game) and then it just. ends?

zero conclusion. we have no idea what happens to our character, if the cop gets yknow. arrested for all those people he brutally killed. there is literally no resolution at all, it just goes straight to credits.

and here's the thing; what an awful twist. first off, the "omg WE killed our wife" thing is so overplayed. same with the culprit being our brother-in-law all along. especially because. why? the main character is literally at rock bottom. he works at this shitty coroners office, he lives in a shitty apartment, and he's in an awful mental state over his wife's death, constantly taking pills.

it'd be one thing if lying about killing his wife had actually advanced his career and he was now rich or smth. but no he's literally already having an awful time. what is the point of torturing him 😭 if you're that mad about him killing your sister, just kill him straight up.

but the thing that really gets me is that earlier in the game, a criminal called "red pete" allegedly escapes police custody.

because at first it seems like he killed our wife. the main character is sent into a panic when he finds out he escaped, and the brother in law seems similarly panicked. but if we actually were the one that killed our wife, then who the hell is red pete? why do we care that he escaped?

the #1 thing about a plot twist is that it should yknow. make sense. i honestly think it would've been way better if they just played it straight and the story was about us being tormented by our wife's killer and hallucinations.

unlike mortuary assistant which i may come back to since you can embalm as many bodies as you want (plus it was actually scary), i will literally never play this again. 2 & a half stars out of five.

EDIT: im looking through my clips and apparently red pete is some guy we caught. but my point still somewhat stands because he's still a poorly written "red herring" and it would've been better if he was just the actual antagonist.

I am currently having Saam feels and I just need to express them somehow!! He's gonna have a better time in Wolfpack than he does in canon— not only is his love Kharlan alive, Hilmes is proving to be a worthy leader, they're not stuck between a rock and a hard place, etc etc, and I like to think he and Shapur might feel a shared connection of them both having changed their allegiances from Andragoras to Hilmes (though for very different reasons)... Things are really looking up for both his country and liege, and he's got a tiny healer aggressively pushing him to take better care of himself. And... And... Fuck, my head's all jumbled. Maybe Hilmes would confide in him with his insecurities, all the complicated and intense emotions and grief and everything regarding the history of Kaykhusraw and the clan, the truth of his lineage, his uncertainties, his resolve to build a better Pars, everything, the sheer trust of it all (unlike a certain someone...*side-eyes chapter 115 Hilmes*), and he gets to witness Hilmes grow!! He'd be so proud! I do wonder what he'd think of all the clan history stuff though, he'd be Shook for sure. I think he'd really encourage the idea of the ceremony for the Temple of Truth, it just feels right for him. And he'd bond with Arslan over wanting Hilmes to grow... He's gonna have so many bonds with so many people! Including various clan folk— chaos aside Kazai is a caring person once you get to know him after all. He doesn't get to be isolated anymore.

I don't imagine Kubard would like to serve Hilmes, though— he might end up joining the clan, he might just strike out on his own to be a wanderer who occasionally keeps in touch with everyone else. He might first encounter the clan in Daylam or something, or somewhere near, maybe when the clan is rounding up rural areas to help around or fortify them or just responding to the Lusitanians (by striking them down), and maybe they could've fought alongside each other and think “oy this guy's fun!”

I think I've posted about the mages integrating themselves into the local folks' day-to-day lives by helping manage grain storage and helping repel pests and healing people and stuff like that, so what if they expand a little, extend their services to areas outside of Shapur's lands? And that's how they probably ended up somewhere around Daylam?

I don't know how to end this so uh, have this mental image of Eihon whacking Hilmes and/or Saam and/or Zandeh with her trusty stick. I don't know how this got into my head but it's stuck there and I'm about to make it your problem.

I once saw a fanart of a very worried Zandeh piling a mountain of blankets on a sick Saam with Hilmes sitting by his bedside, haven't tracked down the source but it was very cute.

Oh so many Sam feels... These are good ones though! It's nice to have something to counteract his canon position a little, and imagine him loved, surrounded by comrades, with the kind of social support that I think he really needs and has been sorely missing. Someone like Kubard is happy with his own company for a time but I can't help but think Sam feels best when he has people he is close to nearby.

This does sound like a big improvement on his canon situation right now. I cannot express how much I want to see Sam's pride at seeing Hilmes grow into the person he hoped he would, the ruler he felt he had the potential to be. 😭

And yeah it totally feels like Kubard would fight alongside the clan in a situation like that; it's a little like him teaming up with Merlaine, or killing off Lusitanians bandits causing trouble.

Also the idea of Eihon whacking Zandeh with a stick is absolutely comedic and I love it and he probably deserved it but I imagine he'd be a bit crestfallen nonetheless ...like a puppy that's just been disciplined lmao

i was at walmart today and i saw a dad carrying his kid upside down and it was such a scaramouche thing to do

he’s definitely cares for his family and significant other unlike popular opinions

if he’s got a child, the pregnancy was probably unplanned but scaramouche takes responsibility for his mistakes so he stepped up

he’s a girl dad and his s/o having a daughter really brought that out of him

this being said, he’s got no idea how to take care of a baby

and as much as he hates it, he probably lets his significant other take the lead

his s/o would change diapers, feed the baby, rock it to sleep, etc and scaramouche would tend to hang back and “transport” his daughter to them

over time, though, he got more comfortable around her where his s/o was okay with leaving their eight-month old daughter with him for a weekend while they tended to business elsewhere

he would be super clueless for a while until he remembered that he couldn’t afford to be clueless, at least not when his s/o wasn’t around

i think he would one of those baby wraps and put his daughter on his back for the whole weekend so he could continue with his daily duties 

he would be really protective of her and if anyone cooed or made heart eyes at her, scaramouche would kinda freak out instead of taking it as a compliment 

he would ask her for advice as if she could answer him

“Say my name, kid! Chi-eld!” Childe crouches in front of Scaramouche’s daughter, his hands waving excitedly in front of her. The baby only stares at him and Scaramouche silent applauds her. 

“You can’t force her to speak,” He says, glaring at them. He was being very generous letting Childe within a five-foot radius of his daughter and he wasn’t afraid to send him away. He went back to sharpening his knife. 

“I can try,” Childe grinned. Scaramouche rolled his eyes. He supposed Childe wasn’t doing anything harmful. “Prove daddy you love Uncle Childe better.” 

Scaramouche gave Childe a deathly scowl, “Uncle? Where’d you get-”

“Da...da!”

Both men fell silent as they snapped their attention to the baby. Scaramouche put down his knife and stood up to go squat down near his daughter. She made grabby hands at him. 

“Dada!” 

Scaramouche scooped the baby up into his arms and contained his excitement. The baby babbled incoherently and Scaramouche smiled at her softly. He huffed at Childe, “Take that, Eleven.”

i am convinced that with all this stuff about the “dark forest” and jsuds comparing season 2 to the empire strikes back, which famously ended with the heroes split up, that someone is going to leave richmond by the end of the season. and now there are 4 coaches when before it was only ted and beard, making it very possible one of them will leave, i ranked all the coaches in order of most to least likely to leave richmond:

1) nate. nate is definitely hurtling towards something this season, and we can all agree it won’t be good. his sudden increase in popularity and acclaim after winning the game for richmond means that it is very likely that another club will want to snatch him up. (in today’s ep we caught a glimpse of a newspaper article suggesting nate is ready to manage his own team .... and we know how much these writers love foreshadowing.)

nate clearly does not think he is appreciated enough at richmond, and he might accept an offer from a more prestigious club to impress his dad. if nate did leave richmond, i think it will happen an episode or two before the season finale and richmond will end up facing off against nate’s new team for their last match, which would be a neat parallel to them playing against jamie in 1x10. nate will likely come to regret his decision to leave richmond (the environment of kindness and support ted has fostered there is a rarity in competitive sport) and it might even be the push he needs to realize how terrible his behavior was. and when nate inevitably returns to richmond, it will set him on a path of trying to redeem himself and reconcile with the team, which again is very similar to jamie — ironic, considering that jamie was the primary bully of nate in season 1. the writers clearly have a very specific arc planned for nate, and i think he will get worse before he gets better (nick mohammed has said that he is nervous about audience reaction to nate when the season ends). nate is trapped in a downward spiral in which his newfound arrogance and old insecurities are at war with each other, and it will take a pretty drastic change for him to finally escape it and become a better person. a downside to this theory is it might be a little too similar to jamie’s arc, but i think the writers would avoid having it seem like a retread.

2. ted. ted’s character arc this season is focused on his struggles with mental health and him learning the importance of self-care. ted might finally be in therapy, but i doubt he will only be on an upward trajectory from now on — i think his storyline will only get darker as the show continues to explore his past trauma (im convinced that ted’s dad committed suicide and that this will eventually be revealed this season). ted is also struggling with being apart from his son and even seems to believe that he’s abandoned him. roy accusing ted of ruining jamie as a player and them then winning the spurs match without ted will likely make him feel worthless. this could all come to a head this season and result in ted resigning from richmond to return to kansas. if this did happen, it would probably be the cliffhanger the season ends on and season 3 will focus on his return to richmond. like nate, i think ted will hit rock bottom before he gets better and his panic attack in 2x06 is only the tip of the iceberg. ted leaving richmond for a period of time will allow both the team and ted himself to realize just how essential he is to them.

3. beard. i dont see beard leaving richmond the same way i can see nate or ted doing so, but his character arc is not entirely clear yet. he is still in a pretty toxic relationship with jane (he was wearing the hat she gave him this ep) but i think he will listen to higgins and break up with her before the end of the season. we know that unlike ted, beard cares deeply about richmond winning and the team hasn’t exactly been doing well since they started coaching them — they might be on a winning streak now thanks to roy and nate, but they still need to get promoted. if richmond fails to get promoted, beard might be so frustrated by their futile efforts that he quits. beard is clearly still pretty important to the team and him leaving would be a definite blow, especially for ted (it would also be a significant setback for ted’s mental health). if beard did leave, i think it’d be a season finale twist after richmond’s final match (again, beard leaving would probably be dependent on whether richmond wins or loses).

4. roy. lmao there is no way roy is leaving richmond after everything he went through in 2x05.

i can see a couple of these scenarios playing out simultaneously — nate could be recruited by another team and that could also lead to a depressed ted returning to kansas, leaving beard and roy as the coaches; ted could go home and beard could go with him; nate and beard could both quit and leave ted in a very bad place. either way, i dont think this season will have as hopeful an ending as season 1. sure, richmond might have been relegated but the team was still united and optimistic about their future — it goes back to what ted said about losing a game but still winning vs winning a game but still losing. richmond might get promoted this season, but they will still “lose” because they are left divided and still in the “dark forest” by the end of the season.

A/N: *deep heavy sigh* I looked over this 1000x lmfao. I’m used to writing fics and not hcs, so they’re probably not the best (I gotta stop doubting myself). I’m always so nervous to share my writings, but this a learning process! Thanks for being my first request. It’s been a while since I wrote anything seriously and shared it. I really hope you enjoy it :) Also, somebody else (who I can’t think of rn) hc that Bokuto doesn’t drink, I just agree wholeheartedly. 

Oh, my precious baby Bokuto. He’s so cute it hurts🥺. 

He gets jealous easily. 

He’s so lively that people naturally gravitate toward him. So, he’s used to being the center of attention. 

Even though the only person’s attention he really cares about is yours.

Bokuto loves the way you look at him when he makes you smile. He loves the feeling of just being in your presence.

So, when he sees you and Kuroo smiling and laughing from across the bar he’s irritated. 

And when the two of you get a little too close for comfort, he’s fuming

...but for some reason, I feel like he wouldn’t say anything

Now, Bokuto would normally shut that shit down instantly.

But it’s Kuroo, his closest friend. He doesn’t want any kind of confrontation. He doesn’t want to cause a scene (I believe Bokuto could beat Kuroo’s ass)

So, he says nothing and instead spends the night alternating between super soft/affectionate and super distant. 

He’ll bring it up in private though. Half-jokingly asking if you’d prefer Kuroo to him. 

And when the conversation turns serious 

Don’t invalidate his feelings, don’t make him feel crazy. (he’ll curl up in a ball and it will be a long time before he opens up to you again)

RE-AS-SUR-ANCE!!!!!!!! He needs it; he will die without it. Please just tell this boy how much you love him.

This is the third time Kuroo has put his arm around you; Bokuto is counting. He watches you from across the room as he holds a conversation with Akaashi; though, at this point, his friend’s words are nothing more than background noise. 

You are supposed to be with them, but once Kuroo challenges you to a drinking contest, Bokuto knows it’s a lost cause. You promise to join him shortly and though he doesn’t believe you, he nods as if he does. Unlike you, and most of his friends, Bokuto doesn’t drink; he just doesn’t like the taste, but he wants you to have a good time. So, he goes to sit with Akaashi by himself but not before leaning down and pulling you into a soft kiss. Bokuto’s large palm caresses your cheek as his mouth moves delicately against your own; It’s quick and gentle, but it’s effective. His lips linger on yours just long enough to leave you wanting more; it’s a reminder that he’ll be waiting for you. 

But, 15 minutes have passed and you’re still glued to Kuroo’s side. 

Now, you’re a giggling mess, teasing one of your boyfriend’s closest friends, who seems to be enjoying the attention a little too much. The rest of their volleyball buddies watch and laugh, most of them far too inebriated to find anything wrong with the way the two of you are interacting. Bokuto, on the other hand, finds everything wrong with it. He watches you with narrow eyes and tightly clenched fists, trying his hardest to keep his composure.

“Your jealousy is showing,” Akaashi smirks at his best friend; Bokuto hasn’t been listening to a word he says. He wants to tease him about it but now doesn’t seem like the time. “Why don’t you just tell them it’s bothering you?” 

“They’re not doing it on purpose,” Bokuto sighs as he unclenches his fists, wiggling his fingers to crack his knuckles. “Besides, there was a time she couldn’t even be in the same room as Kuroo. I’m glad they’re friends now and if I say something I might ruin it.” he looks away from you and instead focuses on the ground. 

“Forget about Kuroo,” Akaashi says, slightly irritated. “What about you? If you don’t talk to her, you might ruin your relationship. You don’t want to harbor resentment toward the one you love,” Akaashi glances at Bokuto, who is unable to reply. They stand in silence for a short time. Akaashi doesn’t want to bombard Bokuto with advice; he knows that sometimes, a few thoughtful words are enough. “Look, it’ll be okay. I have to go.” Akaashi pats Bokuto’s shoulder, leaving him alone to think about the situation. 

Bokuto is truly happy that you and Kuroo have finally learned to get along but deep down, a part of him wishes the two of you never stopped the incessant bickering; part of him wishes that you still disliked Kuroo and he disliked you. Maybe, the petty arguments were nothing but an attempt to mask the attraction you felt toward each other but honestly, that’s what Bokuto would prefer. Because what’s happening now — you and Kuroo openly fawning over each other — is driving him crazy. 

I’m just imagining things, he thinks to himself. Maybe, there is no real meaning to the way the two of you are carrying on; but, watching as Kuroo embraces you in a hug that lingers a little longer than it should doesn’t ease his mind. Your face buried into Kuroo’s chest, his hands pressed firmly against your lower back as he rocks you side to side, it’s a bit more than Bokuto can handle. The thought of you in someone else’s arms so intimately bothers him, and pulling out your phone to take Kuroo’s contact info is the icing on the cake. 

Still, you’d never know how much it affects Bokuto because he approaches you like there’s nothing wrong, and though he tugs you away from Kuroo rather possessively, he does it with the brightest smile. “Alright, ready babe?” He looks down to you with those golden eyes, glimmering with adoration as he places a kiss on your forehead. You nod ‘yes’ quickly. “See you later, bro.” you both wave at his friends once more before the two of you exit the bar. 

A weight lifts from Bokuto’s shoulders as the door shuts behind him; the absence of his best friend shouldn’t put him at ease, but it does. Still, Bokuto has another problem. 

You don’t want to harbor resentment toward the one you love. Akaashi’s words play in his head like a broken record. If he doesn’t settle this now, he never will. His insecurities will continue to fester until he can no longer look at you the same.

“You and Kuroo were pretty cozy tonight,” he fakes a chuckle as he peers at you from the corner of his eye. “I’m glad you two are so close now.”

“Cozy?” you scrunch up your face. You could count the number of times Kuroo touched you on one hand (which was still too many for Bokuto).  You will admit that you spent an unusual amount of time with Kuroo, but he’s more entertaining when he’s drunk; it’s actually your favorite time to be around him. “Hardly. If anything,” you pause, “Wait a minute. Ko, are you jealous?” you manage to suppress your smile, but there's a hint of amusement in your tone. 

He doesn’t answer your question; it’s embarrassing enough to even be feeling this way and for you to call him out so quickly only makes it worse. He takes a deep breath, “Y/N,” Bokuto’s voice is barely above a whisper. “Do you ever think you’d be better off with Kuroo? I mean the two of you actually have a lot in common, and I just think-” the words sound crazy now that he’s finally saying them out loud. 

“No,” you say sternly and confidently, cutting off your boyfriend before he has the chance to ramble on. It’s reassuring how quick you are to shut the notion down. “Besides, we really only have one thing in common,” you pause in your tracks, forcing Bokuto to stop and look at you. 

“What’s that?”

“We both love you so much,” you can’t help but smile as you speak. Bokuto has such amazing people in his life and that warms your heart. “We would never try to hurt you; I would never try to hurt you. I’m so sorry for even making you feel like that.” the apology is sincere. Your glossy eyes are a giveaway. “If I haven’t made this clear, you are the only one for me. It’s you and me, together forever,” he wipes away a single tear; you hadn’t even realized you were crying. You never wanted to make him feel this way; he’s never sounded so defeated. Was he going to just hand you over to his best friend? Did he think you would accept that? “But really, Kuroo?” you pretend to vomit to lighten the mood. It makes you both laugh, something you desperately needed. 

“I love you,” Bokuto sighs in relief.  

“I love you too.” flinging your arms around his neck, you kiss him. 

There’s something almost enchanting about the way he immediately takes the lead. He doesn’t care about the taste of liquor that lingers in your mouth or the fact that you still smell like Kuroo’s cologne; at this moment, Bokuto only cares about you. His lips glide over yours passionately, yet ever so gently; your tongue sporadically teases his bottom lip, his teeth occasionally nibble on yours. It’s a steady rhythm that makes you weak in the knees. His hands find their way to your waist, then to your back, sliding down until they’re secure in your back pockets. 

Bokuto pulls away, pressing his forehead against yours. “Let’s get home, yeah?” he squeezes your ass before he removes his hands from your pocket; intertwining his fingers with yours, Bokuto starts to walk again. 

“Yeah,” you repeat with a smile on your face, nodding eagerly as he pulls you down the sidewalk.

this has probably been said over a hundred times but honestly wn and wq were better siblings to wwx then jc and jyl ever were. i think this goes without saying with jc because he openly was a prick to wwx but with jyl it’s not as outwardly obvious bc she had a very soft and wholesome vibe about her. and not that she didn’t care about and love wwx, but i think that she was....very allergic to conflict??? like she definitely had a limit to as how far she would go to protect wwx. wq and wn didn’t have limits. and sure wq wasn’t as outwardly soft and gentle as jyl, but honestly actions speak louder than words. personally i think she provided more for wwx than jyl ever did. she sacrificed her life for him without a second thought, whereas with jyl it seemed like it was a very in the heat of the moment thing. honestly i could say so much more about this but yeah. not to say that wwx didn’t have any good times with the jiang siblings but the wen siblings just treated him so much better and i’m kind of tired of seeing jc and jyl’s actions romanticized lmao

With JYL and WQ, the best way I can describe it is that while they both love WWX, WQ doesn’t have the refusal to rock the boat that leads to JYL pretty much telling WWX to stop openly being upset at the Jiangs’ treatment of him and just be a good punching bag. WQ is less outwardly soft and affectionate, but if you look at actions WQ shows infinitely more care and affection than JYL ever does. And the thing to consider with their respective sacrifices is that WQ decides to die for WWX... and then has to walk from the Burial Mounds all the way to Nightless City (or was it Lanling? I can’t remember, but either way it’s a long way to walk). She takes all that time, and doesn’t change her mind. Meanwhile with JYL it very much is a heat-of-the-moment thing; still a big sacrifice, but it’s something she doesn’t have time to second-guess. To put it another way, the thing making WQ’s sacrifice more selfless is that she did have the opportunity for second thoughts. She had lots of time, unlike JYL, and she never even considered turning back. Also I do want to point out that unlike WQ there isn’t a guarantee that JYL is going to die or even necessarily get hurt, but I’ll be the first to admit that that’s a little uncharitable. And yes, less romanticizing the Jiangs’ shitty behaviour, more talking about how great the Wen siblings are.

District Eleven (Agriculture) 

District Eleven is the second poorest district, but by far the most oppressed.  The Capitol hold over the citizens is way worse than any other district, peacekeepers give out public beatings daily and are known for even shooting children, mentally handicapped citizens and the elderly.  

Most people in this district are field workers, not by choice though.  Almost everyone in 11 has to work in the orchards and farms, but if they’re caught stealing any of the crops (which is often bc the citizens are always starved) the peacekeepers will whip them in public as punishment.  

When Taehyung was five years old his mother was caught stealing some food from the fields, she had no choice because she had a child to feed and was willing to risk the consequences if it meant feeding her son.  Sadly, she got caught and was dragged to the town square and beaten.  

She was beaten so brutally that she went blind in one eye, crippled her right leg and began suffering seizures since that day.  All this made her unfit to ever work again.  

So Taehyung’s dad became the sole bread winner of the family.  But he couldn’t handle the pressure and double workload so he turned to alcohol to cope.  Unfortunately, in a drunken rage he paraded the streets and picked fights with peacekeepers for what they did to his wife.  This resulted in him getting a bullet in the head.  Taehyung had to witness them mop up the brain matter off the sidewalks the next morning.  He was only 8 years old.  

Taehyung was reaped when he was 16 years old.  Unlike other tributes, Taehyung was used to having to school his expression and show no emotions in fear of getting executed.  So he walked up to the stage and showed complete indifference.  His district counterpart did the same, if citizens at 11 have anything in common- it’s their quick ability to shut down and shut up.  

No one visited Taehyung after his reaping.  He was an only child, no friends, his dad was dead and his mother was practically bed-bound.  Only during this time did he allow himself to cry, feeling guilty for leaving his mom with no one to take care of her.  

His mentors ended up focusing more on his counterpart.  She was 18, looked more well-fed and stronger than Taehyung so they placed their hopes onto her.  

Taehyung wasn’t really a fan favorite of the Capitol either. Although he was attractive, he was really frail-looking and very emotionless during the chariot ride.  Also, sponsors mostly ignore tributes from 11 because their track record in the games is atrocious.  So any outside help for Taehyung was immediately ruled out. 

Taehyung wanted really badly to give up, but he thought he owed it to his mom to at least try his best to go back home to her.  

During training he simply attempted to figure out survival methods for different arenas.  He thought it was pointless to try to become a natural born killer in three days.  It was also stupid because if he trained with a weapon he would have to go through a whole bloodbath to get his hands on it, so he stuck to survival skills and some hand-to-hand combat.  

No one approached him for alliances, it being a well known fact that tributes from 11 were quick to go and even if they did last long, they almost always preferred to work alone.  

His interview was pretty forgettable.  The interviewer mainly poked fun at him for being skin and bones and even laughed “i would ask what’s your strategy but it looks like a mere gust of wind could take you out!”  

When the games finally began, Taehyung found himself underground in some complex cave system (lmao luna reusing arena ideas, so fresh and fun and original-) 

When the canon went off he ran away from the bloodbath, knowing some tributes already had him pinned as an easy kill and not wanting to give them a chance to corner him.  Later that night he found out that his counterpart had died during the bloodbath, likely from being too ambitious and trying to engage combat with the careers.  

he hid during the first few days, but he managed to stumble across a tribute’s little ‘camp’.  It looked like the careers had managed to kill someone but left all their supplies behind, finding no need for them since they had a monopoly on the Cornucopia.  So Taehyung ransacked the bag and found night vision goggles, a tarp, a handful of crackers, a bottle of water and a sling shot.  

Unlike the rest of the tributes, Taehyung was now able to maneuver around the caves rather well because the night vision goggles helped his visibility.  This meant he was able to find really good hiding spots that others would pass by without knowing.  Life at 11 also prepared him for starvation, meaning he fared better than the others who were getting weaker by the day by malnourishment.  

It wasn’t until it came down to five tributes that Taehyung had to start fighting.  

Two careers managed to find him, they chased him down a tunnel and cornered him.  Little did they know that the Gamemakers prepared mutant blood sucking bats in this particular cave.  They swarmed in and attacked all three tributes, but Taehyung was quick to get out his tarp and cocoon his entire body, successfully shielding himself from the bats.  The careers weren’t so lucky and died.  

3 remained.  A girl from 4 and a boy from 9.  On the 17th day a canon sounded and during the fallen segment Taehyung was able to conclude that 9 must’ve killed 4.  

Taehyung was hoping to outlive 9 simply by hiding but things didn’t pan out that way.  On the 20th day 9 had found him, armed with a spear.  Taehyung attempted to outrun him and used his slingshot to hit a loose rock from above 9.  This rock fell and along with it came down many others, one large enough to pin 9′s lower leg and trapping him.  

Taehyung then used his own spear against him, piercing him in the throat.  

He became victor, and when he first woke up in the capitol his mentors were by right his side, apologizing for not haven taken him seriously.  

The capitol affectionately nicknamed him the ‘underdog’, now finding his borderline mute nature adorable during the victor and mentor interviews.

He now lives in Victor’s row with his mother, very rarely leaving her bedside and spending his days caring over her conditions.  

Now whenever someone is killed in 11, their family can expect an anonymous donation from Taehyung the next day.  He knows firsthand what that is like and wants to use his money for good.  The citizens like him very much because of this although he never really speaks to them.

As a mentor he is really kind to his tributes, although pretty quiet.  He devotes an equal amount of time to both of them, being really strict about not playing favorites.  He also practically breaks his back every game trying to get sponsors for his tributes.  

Whenever the tributes die, he personally sends over a month’s worth of winnings over to the fallen’s family.  

the other Victors like him well enough because of his silent but calming persona.  Particularly District 6′s Yoongi and District 8′s Hoseok.

Do you have ships in sp outside of the big ones?

Hmmm, yes but not that many. Mostly I stick with the big ones, which I have to mention because I can’t just ignore them! 

The main big one is obvious. Style is the endgame for me. No matter who I imagine either of them with in between, they always end up together in the end for me. It could happen when they’re 16 and hormonal, 20 and feeling the weight of college separation, 28 and reuniting after getting established in their careers, 40 and divorced, all of the above, it doesn’t matter - it just happens eventually. And even when they aren’t together, Stan is still whipped for Kyle and they still argue dramatically like they’re a couple in a movie, and everyone around them is just waiting for them to take the leap. The way it happens varies, but it always happens. I have names picked out for their kids. I know how their parents would act as in-laws and grandparents. I know how they’ll merge religions and celebrate holidays. I know who will die first (Stan, because Kyle’s not allowed to die until he does). There is no universe where they don’t end up together, in my mind. 

Creek is a big one in fandom that is less big for me, I guess. I love Creek fanart but I don’t usually go out of my way to read fic about them, nor do I have any ideas of my own for them. I just like everyone else’s headcanons! They truly get the best fanart, it’s not fair. And at this point there’s so much fic for them, I wouldn’t even know where to start. But I love what Matt & Trey have done with them in canon. 

I have a love-hate relationship with Kyman, which makes sense for the pairing hah. I think it’s basically canon that it’s one-sided, and I also think it would be very, very easy for Kyle to get sucked into some kind of relationship with Cartman in high school, with the possibility of it continuing for years in a toxic, on-off cycle. I’m actually writing a fic about that right now, a sequel to something I wrote ten years ago. Whenever Kyle doesn’t have Stan as his rock, he gravitates into Cartman’s orbit, so I think in some ways they’re inevitable? But never endgame. I actually really dislike stories in which they have a happy ending, because I don’t think it’s possible and Kyle deserves better than that. 

I like Stendy; it’s the only Stan pairing I’ll allow other than Style. I think they’d be that on-again, off-again couple for years, but then break up permanently in college, probably by Thanksgiving break freshman year. Wendy is destined to be with someone a lot more ambitious than Stan, and Stan is destined to be with Kyle, and I think they’d both always know that about each other (particularly Wendy), but they’ll try to make it work over and over again in the meantime because they’re just comfortable with each other.

Candy is pretty good too. I think it could easily happen in the heat of the moment, during a drunken argument about politics at a winter break house party, and Wendy would be angry at herself the next day for enjoying it so much lmao. They wouldn’t date though. She’d never stoop that low (unlike Kyle, who in some AUs would stoop that low at least three times over the years because Cartman “changed”, but Wendy always knows better than that). Cartman would probably get a little too attached, but no amount of begging and pleading could get her to go out in public with him.

I never really liked Bunny back in the day, but it’s grown on me over the last few years. Mysterion and SOT changed the game; I really like gnc Kenny and think that idea works better with Butters than the Super Masc Horny Kenny from days gone by. It’s one of those pairings I won’t read on its own, and probably wouldn’t write, but it works as a side pairing if it’s done well. I like the idea of Kenny and Butters exploring gender expression together and dealing with their traumas through roleplay, since they have that tendency in common. They’d have a mutual understanding that they both have a preference for feminine-leaning folks, and they just get each other, so it’s a chill arrangement.

Another side pairing I like is Clybe! I think Bebe is honestly way too good for Clyde, but that’s kind of why it would work. They’d both be so aware of it. Clyde knows his place and he’d spoil the shit out of her. And she’d become a doctor or a lawyer and make way more money than him, and people would be like “why the FUCK is this beautiful, smart, ambitious, successful woman with this small town douchebag?”, but Clyde cries at the end of sad movies with her and always remembers their anniversary and is a great cook and is always willing to talk about his feelings, so they have a smooth, comfortable relationship.

Pairings I like the art for but never really think about include Crenny, K2, and Bendy. They’re just aesthetically cute, but I can’t bring myself to care about them beyond that.

Pairings that are or were canon that I like but don’t really seek out in fandom include Token/Nichole, and Token/Wendy. Heiman I have mixed feelings about because while I LOVED that whole plot line since it exposed Cartman as the abusive boyfriend he was always going to be, obviously he wasn’t good for Heidi, so I can’t really categorize it as a pairing I like.

Crack pairings I’ve RPed that I still like to this day even though they literally do not exist in fandom and only really worked in those very specific circumstances are Gregory/Kyle and Trent Boyett/Bebe.

OH and Kenny/Henrietta? I saw a post about them one time, which has stuck with me for some reason.

Kristoph Gavin Character Analysis I

Part 1 of... fucking infinity, I hate this bitch so much lmao.

Well, it's Halloween time and I just thought, why not. So let's answer this question.

What makes Kristoph Gavin a scary character/villain? A soft spoken gentleman with a deadly secret... the Devil, who lives in his hand, that crazy evil scar thing, his creepy music theme... damn, he’s a scary dude. But scariest of all? His psychology, as we all know. (This is mostly gonna be headcanons. but ya know what, I have a license (hands you a piece of paper that says ‘i can do what i want’))

Kristoph seems like a person who is very aloof, particularly when it comes to personal relationships. At first he kind of just seems like the typical anime glasses guy whose main emotion is like whooa he does the glare thing with his glasses sometimes. But... what is he really about?

You know, let me digress for a moment, what's really interesting to me about the AA characters is how much depth they have in their writing. Case in point, Adrian Andrews. There's a character who you assume is just going to be the typical "anime glasses girl" who is a career woman who don't need no man, and is very aloof, cool, and as she says, not concerned with irrelevant topics or things. Later you learn about the true depths to her personality. The fact that she is codependent, that she needs other people telling her what to do in order to survive. Just because she masks these emotions doesn't mean they don't exist. I felt that really gave a lot of depth to her character and added another dimension that stories in this genre don't often address as boldly or fully (especially when it comes to a female character). So the quality of the writing is always really top notch with only a few exceptions. Take this as context...

Now getting back to Kristoph Gavin. Typical anime glasses dude, right? But no, though. One of the reasons why he's so interesting to me is how his emotional understanding of personal relationships really works. Or seems to, anyway. Based on the endgame testimony and his crimes, Kristoph Gavin is extremely dangerous because, should you get involved with him in any way, he will never, ever let go of you, ever. Once you are entangled with him he wants you to stay entangled, not unlike an overbearing parent who refuses to let you go. It's partly that he thinks he knows what's best for you (that is, to stay completely loyal to him). And also partly... because he is pretty dependent on what other people think of him. So he needs to keep them around him closely.

Kristoph's biggest fear was his lying being exposed for what it was. That Phoenix was really the honest, straightforward attorney, and not him. Kristoph would do anything to perpetuate his own false reality. He kept it going for seven years. His absolute worst fear of all was losing his reputation. Being seen for what he truly was in front of others. He could never accept that. That fear drove all of his murders. Fundamentally, he sees himself as benevolent... when nothing could be further from the truth of how he was hurting everyone who had the misfortune of crossing his path.

Kristoph has a need to perpetuate this false identity of himself above all else. A very adjacent second goal to that is to keep all of his personal associates very close and under his control in order to keep the first goal intact.

Reject him and he will stalk you until you are dead. By his hand, or otherwise. Slight him, and he will get you at the first opportunity, case in point, Zak Gramarye. (He only had to get a quick glance at the guy and his fate was sealed. Turnabout Trump is a chilling case.) Replace him, and he will tear your life and livelihood up into little itty bitty pieces. He will then continue to stalk you aggressively for seven years while pretending he is your best friend. Case in point, Phoenix Wright.

Create false evidence for him and you become a loose end. So does your daughter. Like I said, just don't get involved with him. If he feels threatened, Kristoph Gavin will not hesitate to end you. It's definitely an obsession. I mean the first word that comes to people's minds when it comes to Kristoph usually isn't "obsessed", because he gives off the aura of being calm and uninterested. But he is, he's obsessed. You have to be obsessed to do what he did. This shit consumed his every waking hour, and that's what he won't admit. That he was so sick, he completely lost the plot. Phoenix was already living in his head rent free the day he ordered the forgery. And even though Phoenix wasn't physically present at the Misham trial and was only watching everything by video camera, you can bet Kristoph was seeing Phoenix. Hallucinating him, images of him. Probably multiple images of him. That's how obsessive. Imagine letting something or someone control you to that extent. Imagine thinking that you're so important, that Phoenix taking Zak Gramarye's case at all was meant to be a slight against you personally. (It's funny because Phoenix mentions not even knowing Kristoph at all until after the disbarment. So Kristoph's own logic in thinking that Phoenix was just out to shame him absolutely doesn't track. Ob-sessed, dude.)  

It's actually pretty astonishing that someone like Apollo made it out alive. On a side note, I really think Kristoph enjoyed having someone to mentor. He sought someone like Apollo out. Someone naive and new to the field for him to indoctrinate. And maybe I have a post about that later, cuz that's a whole 'nother barrel of monkeys right there. (It kind of involves Apollo’s naivete (also, daddy issues, hello.) being a huge reason why he would gravitate towards having a mentor known for having a “caring” personality. And I think Apollo genuinely liked that about him, which makes the end result so much more awful for Apollo to deal with because to him, that was real.)

But now think of Klavier, right. Being forced to grow up with that. To live with that your entire life. To have a familial relationship that is that smothering, that suffocating, that strangling. That controlling, to criticize every single thing that you do or say right down to the way you say it. And remember... He's never letting you go. I would go on a world tour as a rock star, too. Anything to be anywhere he isn't. This is horror movie tier stuff. (now im imagining a horror movie trailer for aa4 focusing on gavins stuff... eep!)

And Kristoph Gavin markets himself as someone who simply doesn't care. He's the coolest defense in the west and he doesn't care for what you may think about it. Except... he does care. It totally consumes him. Your perception, your opinion, is everything to him. He has shitty self esteem, deep down, because he knows Phoenix is better than him. And tries to mask it with narcissism as the two duke it out. Appearances are everything, evidence is everything. What people think is true is the only thing that matters, truth doesn't. And it makes sense that his closest contacts and associates are the targets for his constant narcissistic abuse and gaslighting. Their opinions matter even more than the common crowd - of course, Kristoph hates them. Which makes it even worse for him when the jury decides unanimously that Vera is innocent (and by implication, he is therefore guilty). The jury verdict was kind of like the ultimate confirmation that guess what, the evidence doesn't matter. The common and boorish masses have passed judgement, no matter how "mindless, emotional and irrational" they are, even they can see behind his crappy little facade. Even a blind woman like Lamiroir can see that insecurity; even a common person can understand it just by looking at the facts. That's what absolutely wrecks him... that his “poker face” couldn’t hold a candle to Phoenix’s. And he loses the “hand” again (because of his “hand”... get it??).

The identity that he needs to maintain is part of how he sees himself in his mind. As Phoenix's protector, not as his stalker. As Klavier's benevolent big brother, not as his abuser. As Apollo's teacher and mentor, not as someone guiding him into ruin. He lives in a false reality.

Try to bring this up in any way, shape, or form and he will write it off. You're just imagining things...

Because at some level, Mr. Black Psyche Locks himself doesn't even realize. (I feel like that might just be basically canonical fact, based on Pearl’s explanation of how black psyche locks are supposed to work.) That’s pretty freaking terrifying.

At the end of the day this is a big part of the reason I think his character is just so interesting. In a very messed up way, Kristoph is one degree away from being such a good person. He could've been obsessively protective of Klavier - the way a big brother is supposed to be - instead of abusive, could've actually been very caring of Phoenix instead of manipulative. Terrible people can have good traits, just as good people can have awful traits. His attention to detail and understanding of psychology (like getting Vera those gifts she would like so much) could've been used for genuine good. He could've been someone who cares deeply about other people because he does care deeply about other people. But only in terms of their relation to himself, what do they think of him, how are they useful to him.

Maybe this is why I kind of like his character. Intelligent, semi-neurotic protective characters are just my ish. But, no, he has to have a narcissistic bent that skews everything into complete abuse. That’s what makes him awful... that he’s devoid of a moral compass or true compassion for other human beings.

So in closing, fuck off, Kristoph Gavin.

Postscript, he's also such a good foil for Phoenix for this reason. Kristoph does everything for himself. Phoenix does everything for Trucy, because he's a dad and he understands the weight of what it means to really care for someone. Kristoph couldn’t understand motives like that. And Phoenix can't help it if he's an order of magnitude smarter and more mature than Kristoph is. He was just born like that. Classy as fuck. You know what, Kristoph Gavin is like the dollar store version of Phoenix Wright as an attorney. Has many of the same functions but actually doesn't have a leg to stand on and will fail you when you need it. And is revealed to just be a cheap knockoff of the real thing.

You blanch immediately when you open the door and Rachel is stood there - your ex wife. You cling to the door handle for support, and immediately feel Zelda's warmth envelope you, her arm about your waist to steady you.

“Hello, Y/N.” Rachel drawls, and you feel sick to your stomach. Even after everything she did, she has this air of cockiness, a confidence that radiates from her as if you'd still fall to your knees at her feet even now. Instead you press yourself closer to Zelda, and Rachel eyes the both of you. She looks envious, and that makes you feel a little smug.

“Rachel.” You reply curtly, and Zelda squeezes you in reassurance. “Why are you here?”

“I want you back. I made a mistake, baby.”

You grimace at hearing her call you that, and you can feel Zelda stiffen beside you, obviously just as shocked as you that she so brazenly came out with this right here, in front of Zelda, your girlfriend.

You eye the redhead in the doorway - for of course she's a redhead, always did have a soft spot for flame red hair and pale skin – and clench your teeth in anger, seething at the audacity of the woman.

“I haven't been your baby for a long time, Rachel. I think it's best you leave.”

A shadow falls over Rachel's face, and she tries to step toward you, but Zelda releases you immediately and blocks her path, and you really look at her for the first time, see the fire in her eyes, her mouth set in a thin line, and you know you certainly wouldn’t want to be the person on the receiving end of her wrath.

“You've been asked to leave. I suggest you do so.” Zelda snaps.

“You're really settling for this second rate version of me, baby? You really can do better.” Rachel's eyes never leave Zelda's, a smirk playing at her lips, and you reach for Zelda's hand, suddenly worried it's going to get ugly.

“There’s nothing second rate about my Zelda. She's a thousand times the woman you’ll ever be, and she treats me better. She manages to keep her legs closed when I’m not around, for a start.”

Rachel glares at you over Zelda's shoulder, and you merely raise a brow at her, feeling brave with Zelda there with you, fearless. Zelda steps closer to her, her face inches from hers, a smug smile on her face now, although her eyes are still as hard as stone.

“If you care for her at all, you'll leave, now. Y/N is happy, she has a home with us, and I love her dearly. If you ever try to ruin that for her, I will tear you limb from limb.” Zelda grazes a single finger down her cheek and Rachel flinches away. “I’ll savour every scream.”

Rachel backs away from Zelda, and she chuckles, delighting in the look of fear in the woman’s face. She looks at you one final time, meets your eyes over Zelda's shoulder, before turning and stomping off in her heels. Zelda flicks her wrist when the woman reaches the bottom of the steps, and Rachel falls to her knees in the dirt, and you cover your mouth to suppress the laugh rising within you.

You grasp Zelda's hand and pull her inside, closing the door behind her and pressing her against it. You gaze lovingly into her eyes, and there are butterflies in your stomach, thinking of how protective she was of you, her shamelessly professing her love for you. It’s so very unlike Zelda, always so private, and your heart swells with pride and adoration.

“I love you too, by the way.” You murmur, brushing your lips against hers, and she chuckles.

“I know you do.” Her hands glide down to your ass and squeeze the soft flesh firmly, and you gasp against her lips.

“Zelds...”

“I want to make you feel good, darling. I want to fuck you so hard, remind you that you’re mine and I love that you’re mine.” She whispers, gripping your ass harder and pulling your body flush against hers. You release a breathy moan, eyes fluttering closed as you feel a throb of arousal between your thighs. Zelda has always been extremely good at that – making you impossibly wet with words and words alone.

“Then fuck me.”

Zelda growls and picks you up, and you wrap your legs around her waist, squeaking in surprise when you feel the rush in your abdomen as she teleports you both to the bedroom. jonrya it is! i never hated them, you know, but they never were more than siblings and brotp to me. however, later i encountered the deluded crack ship fandom that shall not be named and understood that if there is any possible romance for jon with any of his sisters-cousins we all know which one it will be lmao. also their stans are very sweet and i really like many of their takes on arya and jon! i generally love relationships of jon and arya very much so it wasn't that difficult in practice to see them in a quite different light.

meta culture lmao. reading different analysis and interpretations of the text used to be very interesting to me (and still is tbh but in other fandoms) though asoiaf is a different case. imo many people aren't honest in their so called theories and analyses. i get that all of us are biased but some "meta writers'" denial of their own biases influence fandom in a bad way. it looks like too many people run to them to get answers to their questions about any minor detail as if they were grrm himself. yk instead of using their own reading comprehension lmao. you see how this meta culture ruined fandom just looking at the most delusional stans and shippers who spread their agenda by writing endless text posts full of nonsense and bullshit but styled as oh so intellectual and thoughtful analysis. it's insane how many people actually buy it and don't check canon accuracy of such claims themselves. it got to the ridiculous point when random people try to argue with you with some far-fetched embarrassing "theories" as if they were canon facts or quotes straight up from a fanfic because they read somewhere some other confused soul's post and got from a context that this quote is canon (despite the fact that it wasn't written in grrm's style at all but some people can't use their brains even if their lives depended on it it seems).

anyway it's become too long and rambly already so tldr. because of such "neutral unbiased" analyses i got the habit of fact checking almost everything i see in such posts. there's only a small amount of meta writers from targ/dany/jon/arya stans that i trust because i know by practice and following them for some time that they don't pull anything out of nowhere, back up everything they say with canon quotes, don't decontextualize anything and (that is the most important thing to me) are reasonable and open to discussion unlike so many bnfs nowadays.

all my faves have their own crowd of haters i'm afraid 😭 but let me say rhaegar. even among some dany/targ stans my man is so misunderstood lmao. it's not even his fault i dare say it's fanon about his half-imagined crimes that somehow got widespread to the unbelievable degree. and when i say they're half-imagined i'm being very generous actually. ofc he isn't perfect, no one in asoiaf is. and yes, he's a pre-series dead minor character but almost all little information about him is actually positive, not to mention the narrative itself that doesn't paint him as a villain or just a shitty dude. on the contrary, he's an idealized to some degree dead prince who could've been a good king (like some other historical targaryens, jacaerys, baelor breakspear, aemon son of jaehaerys, etc.), a mysterious yet tragic figure. i have much to say about why it's so popular to shit on him in fandom but yeah. his haters should send their complaints to grrm instead, no one forced the man to write him like that lol. and i mean that no one has to like him ofc. but it's misinterpretation of the text to claim he was intentionally written as a villain or smth by grrm.

jj is the night owl out of the two of them. kie always nags him about how he should go to bed earlier and how it’s good for all different areas of his life and whatever and all that shit but he’s like mm no and brushes her off. that being said, kie is not one to chicken out on an all nighter

kie, obviouslyyy. she loved to watch sunrises and watching sea turtles hatch their eggs n stuff. jj absolutely despises waking up cause like 98% of the time he has a hangover, bUt if he doesn’t, he goes surfing in the morning with kie to catch sum waves
