I find it funny that many harries and Larries are saying that Taylor was standing for Harry cause she felt this way when she was young but it’s not the same situation. When Kanye did his thing, I feel like most people agreed it was wrong and were on her side, her career was still just getting started. Whereas here, Harry is an established name who has had an pretty long and successful career at this point, he’s been Hollywood’s Golden Boy for a long ass time and from what I can tell, outside of his fanbase, the general public just doesn’t give a shit about him and are tired of seeing the industry just hand everything to him leading to him winning - even in a metaphorical sense - where he shouldn’t be. I’m always kind of shocked by how much the at least online general public seemingly does not like him.
harry is incredibly cringe to the normal people online.
his fanbase are exclusively 99% white middle class to very rich young or slightly older ladies. that's basically it. he has no queer fanbase the way many stan communities have. he has no real POC fanbase the way other stan communities have. the muslim community does not enjoy him the way they do say shakira. he isn't huge with normal people in latin america like bad bunny. a lot of the kpop fans i see absolutely hate him.
he is an exclusively white female and mostly middle upper class product. to people outside of that he's unbearably mediocre and bland, and yet to his fanbase, they think he shits popsicles. so basically on tiktok? he's golden. in the open light of day to regular people? it's like ugh, mortifying.
so i can see why taylor, who fits in that category, and tends to have quite a white orientated wealthy POV on the world would sympathise tbh.
i think he also continues to push this idea that he's still a child into the public sphere, and still gets seen and treated like he is a child. so there's also that in his favor.
