man the live action yu yu hakusho hairstyling is Bad, and toguro needs to be Way Bigger but there's only so far they can realistically push that i guess

everything else looks ok though; the fight choreography and costumes outside the hair seem pretty good based on the teaser

might even decide to watch it someday

#gonna be honest i've never felt the need to see manga characters rendered in meatspace form and i feel entirely justified in that now #i was interested in cowbop beboy live action because of the level of passion project energy it had and yoko kanno's involvement #and i appreciate that one piece netflix went all-out with a diverse cast and wild set design and leaning into the sheer goofiness #but this is basically just getting elevated to piggyback off one piece being relatively successful when it looks more on the tier of #your bog standard live action manga-based tv drama. some of those can be watchable but i always find myself going 'it was better in 2D'#stirring up trouble #idk i just don't have any strong feelings about yyh netflix despite going somewhat feral for yyh generally #but i'd watch it with friends
