zenos yae galvus is actually the funniest motherfucker in final fantasy, hands down

his main characteristic is that he's dreadfully bored and can't find anything interesting. he fights you to the brink of death but lets you live bc you put up more of a fight than usual and he thinks if you get angrier maybe you'll be an actual challenge. and he's right. he's so fucking irritating that his mere presence unlocks hitherto unknown abilities because you're so desperate to kick this fool's ass. it's the best thing that ever happened to him. he tells you you're his dearest enemy and his first friend and in the same breath, sighs about how maybe next time you'll tear his throat out with your teeth. when you finally do defeat him, he dies with a smile -- then claws his way out of the lifestream and back into life out of pure determination to face you in a fight. he kills his own dad and kick-starts a world-ending apocalypse with no plan to stop it just to draw you to him for another fight. and then he invites you out for dinner.
