erm so i came up with an evil cucurucho design 👍
i basically just tried to go as contrasting as possible with my regular cucurucho design? so long as hell very straight/pointy hair, a loose jacket instead of the fitted suit, sort of opposite parts of them covered by their clothes [didn’t get too strict with that one, just went for longer pants on cucurevil and exposed shoulders] and he always has his eyes exposed and mouth open. and obviously the colour differences but that’s a given
also changed my cucurucho design just a little, added some teal to him for the fed colours and changed the suit a little. i never draw him in the same clothes twice anyway but oh well
#.jpg#qsmp#cucurucho#evil cucurucho#cucurevil#fanart#no id#also there’s the more obvious dichotomy of one of them appearing to be a woman#and the other appearing to be a man#but they still both very much don’t have genders to me so that’s sorta secondary#cucurevils design is kinda overall pointier because his hair makes his silhouette sorta triangular#also a small thing is cucuruchos greyscale parts are warm whites/greys#and cucurevils are cool blacks/greys#which i just think looks nicer with their accent colours#basically yes i did think about these designs beyond trying to make them kinda hot

Dr. Jonathan/Myers
TW: Cannibalism Mentions!
| Name: Jonathan Henry Myers
| Nicknames/Alias: Hen/Enry, Jon or Johnny or more professionally Dr. Myers or Dr. Jonathan- yes, he’ll use his first name too-
| Gender: He/Him
| Age: 35
| Height: 7’3”
| Occupation: Doctor (Surgeon more specifically)
| Species/Race: Human
| Hair Color: Dark Brown (Kinda like a weird sorta wavy quiff? Like he's got the short sides but the top part of his hair is longer and a bit wavy and pointed toward the front)
| Eye Color: Watermelon Pink (not contacts, it's just a natural but EXTREMELY rare eye color in this world, his eyes are also usually half lidded)
| Skin Color/Body Type: He’s pretty pale and he’s, i'm not gonna lie he’s just big n beefy tbh
| Appearance: His main outfit is honestly just a typical doctor outfit- the white lab coat, the teal scrubs and he has some black dress shoes, he’s usually wearing the surgeon cap thingy as well as his face mask, he also wears dark brown rectangular glasses (can’t see shit without em), another detail I should go ahead and get outta the way which its probs obvious by now but still, he has a circle beard- and his secondary outfit is a dark gray turtleneck that has a boob window and a long black trench coat (its not leather btw, it’s also got a big collar on it, I love the long ones that just point out n upwards ya know?) and he has dark brown pants and then black combat boots.
He doesn’t have any scars on himself it seems nor any sharp claws but he does have sharp fangs! The only other accessory I can think of is a black watch around his wrist, it was a very expensive one (it was a gift from someone and spoiler alert, he ate them lmao)
| Personality: If that last bit didn’t make it obvious, this man is a fucking cannibal, he’s a disgusting bastard… He’s cruel, sadistic, probably masochistic too okay who am I kidding he 100% is, he literally has no shame and can be pretty blunt with most things, he’s a HUGE flirt, like my god can this man shut the fuck up- Jonathan- would not be a good person to go out with/date or ANY of that, dude, he will LITERALLY eat you- Of course, Jonathan would just claim “It’s a way for you to be m u c h closer to me darling~! We can be together forever now! You, apart of me, it’ll be so wonderful~!” …Alright you weird ass yandere-like bastard… Oh did I mention that, btw? Jonathan is an ABSOLUTE stinky bastard- I hate him- so damn much-
He doesn’t have a backstory in all honesty..? I just,, wanted a cannibal doctor character- He’s just bad and gross as hell, in fact- Even as he’s eating you- He’ll literally still try flirting with you, I suppose the t w o redeeming qualities about him is he’s actually genuinely kind, caring, and loving toward children and animals alike- He’d NEVER eat a child or animal, in fact even though he IS still bad and fucked up, he thinks it’d be pretty fucked up to do that to an innocent kiddo, whenever a kid patient comes into the clinic in fact, he’s much nicer and kinder to them.
He’s great with kids and animals both, even if the adults say he’s a pretty big creep, if a kid is crying/freaking out- like say over a shot or something- Myers will literally pick them up and just try to get them to giggle with anything silly that he could think of, it usually works tbh- What can he say, he’s just a likeable guy~! …Not at all but… Still- Anyways aside from that, Jonathan is also pretty egotistical and prideful of himself and his work, he doesn’t just think- but he KNOWS he’s all that and m u c h more~ Not much more to say about him, but that he’s just a disgusting bastard who can and WILL eat you, don’t fall for his, eugh ‘charm’ he calls it that, but he has NONE- no charm whatsoever- I’d fucking punt him.
| Side Fact: Jonathan actually has some pets at home, he has a lot of pet rats- He might be a horrible person (he also takes pride in that, you can say the most horrible things to him like no joke- and he’ll just pick you up and give you a big smooch and then grin “I know I am darling~”) like there’s not much you can do to insult him really lmao- The only way he EVER takes true offense is if you insult his pet rats, his babies- his little angels- he will beat the ABSOLUTE shit out of you- That’s one of the, mm f e w ways to REALLY piss him the fuck off-
But as I was saying- bc I got off topic, despite still being a horrible person- He’s actually very kind, sweet, and caring toward his little angels- His rats are part of his pride and joy tbh fhjdklfjds he loves them very much and makes sure to take great care of them …And if you asked him if he fed any remains to them he’d gasp in offense at that “What?! Are you insane?! Do you KNOW what that could do to them?! I’m a cannibal, love~! Not a fucking monster…!” He seems p offended you’d insinuate that he’d ever do that, he’s not a fucking idiot! His rats also have a special room dedicated entirely for them to free roam in, nothing in there to get them hurt but plenty of things to play around on, jump on, et-cetera
Speaking of- Dr. Myers literally has a FUCKIN HUUUUGE mansion essentially, of course it has the typical basement because he’s not going to get blood on his carpets or tile floors! No no far too messy and impossible to clean outta the carpet! And besides, the screams and cries just echo so wonderfully in the basement …And of course he doesn’t have to worry about his rats hearing the screaming and crying and getting all frightened by it, you don’t wanna know what he did one time when someone startled one of his babies… It was, pretty b a d and gruesome in all honesty.
…btw- one final thing, that watch he got as a gift? Lmao, it was honestly really cute to him, just how desperate they were to go out with him, they got him such an expensive watch and don’t get him wrong, oh he absolutely cherished it and found them adorable! So of course…
He went on a date with them! He invited them over for dinner and well… I’m sure you can piece two and two together here and figure out exactly just what was for dinner… It was only fair since they wanted to be so close to him, he gave them their wish! Just… In his own little way he supposes-
…Even tho I’m the one who made him I really fucking hate this man- I’d fuckin slap the shit out of him, he stinky- bad stinky- just u g h-

I read your ZhuiYi fic and it makes me wonder if it’s omegaverse. Not that I mind or anything, it’s just I see this everywhere lol. It’s so cute. Also, no hate, I just don’t get why some people ship LSZ and JL. Aren’t they like cousins? LSZ is LWJ and WWX adopted son and JL is JC and WWX nephew. It’ll be very weird if WWX was JL father-in-law if he is JL uncle at the same time. By the way I’m all about ZHUIYI!!!
Regarding LSZ/JL, even though I don’t really ship them, I’m not squicky about them either. They’re just…there, I guess. A popular ship that I can’t get into for some reason. I suspect LSZ/JL are so popular because they’re the main junior characters–they have significantly more of a backstory than anybody else (we don’t even know how old LJY is orz) so it might be easier to write about them. And it wasn’t like anybody knew they were kinda-sorta cousins in the beginning since LSZ’s relationship to WWX wasn’t revealed until much later. Even then, they weren’t raised together, so I doubt they’d really think of each other as cousins, and WWX (who has always considered himself JL’s uncle and LSZ’s kind-of-parent) might be the only one who would find the situation awkward.
(Anyway, I think the ship gained ground in the English fandom because it was first popular in the Chinese fandom. While I’m not an expert on Chinese culture, from what I’ve seen on Twitter about how some straight Chinese men thought WWX and JYL would get together in CQL, it seems like adopted children aren’t really considered part of the family, which may explain why Madam Jin was so against JYL being alone with WWX at Baifeng. So if we consider all that, LSZ, who is the adopted son of an adopted son, might be a perfectly reasonable partner for JL in (ancient?) Chinese culture.)
I’m leaving the logistics of conception up to the reader to decide. How A-Yu was conceived wasn’t really important to the fic, and I didn’t want to get into all the other common sources of conflicts in omegaverse (e.g. heats, scenting, hierarchy, etc.) because at heart this fic is about emotions and I didn’t want to detract from it. If this were omegaverse…it’d be a much longer fic lol because there’d be a lot of worldbuilding to set up. If you’re interested in how the fic might change (or what questions need to be answered) if it was explicitly set in omegaverse, I’ve listed some bullet points under the cut.
1) Is everybody’s secondary gender common knowledge? Does LSZ know LJY is an omega? Does LJY himself know he’s an omega? What are LSZ and JL’s secondary genders? Do their secondary genders affect LSZ&LJY and LSZ&JL’s relationships? How does this affect LSZ/JL and LSZ/LJY’s compatibility?
- I’d probably work under the assumption that everyone knows everyone’s secondary genders unless they’re being deliberately suppressed. I don’t actually know how ABO would work in GuSu, because it feels like omegas would be educated separately from alphas the way female cultivators are separate from the male cultivators. In which case…would LJY and LSZ manage to preserve their friendship through this separation after they present (assuming LSZ is an alpha)? Their genders alone would prime everybody around them who’s seen their close friendship to assume that they’d get together once they’re of an age to actually be interested in relationships, which itself might influence LSZ to see LJY as a potential partner earlier. In which case…this fic would not exist since they’d be happily together since they were teenagers and I’m sorry JL but you don’t get the chance to kiss LSZ in this AU lol
- What would JL’s secondary gender even be?? Honestly I could see him as any of them, and it would probably barely change the plot. LSZ/JL as an A/A pairing? Good for them, showing the finger to gender norms. It’d have the same problems as a non-omegaverse M/M pairing in that males (like alphas) cannot conceive and are expected to be able to lead their sects, probably frowned upon due to the impossibility of conceiving children and also female cultivators all China over will be weeping that two eligible bachelors have taken each other off the market. LSZ/JL as an A/B pairing? Similar to A/A, honestly. A/O? If JGY was alive he’d be scheming to marry JL off to GuSu, so he could be the undisputed leader of the Jin sect, and everybody would probably have been undermining JL’s ability to be a sect leader since the day he presented, which is…well, actually I don’t really know. I have my own ideas of how this might affect their relationship, but I suspect that you can find more varied opinions by looking up LSZ/JL ABO fics.
- If LSZ is a beta…idk man I doubt it’d do much for the plot, honestly, since betas are almost like normal people and all that’s different in this universe would be LSZ having to deal with is LJY’s omega nature.
2) Is this a typical omegaverse where omegas are considered…well, mostly just breeding cows?
- God I hope not. I want LJY to be able to cultivate. If this is how omegas are viewed, then LJY would probably be an extremely frustrated ball of energy, and there’d be a lot more self-doubt in the fic, including LJY wondering if LSZ even likes omegas (if JL was an alpha or a beta in this AU).
3) Heats. How common are LJY’s heats? Does LSZ help him through them, does LJY deal with them on his own, or does he just use suppressants all those years?
- Assuming that LSZ and LJY did not get together despite being very close A/O friends, and assuming that LSZ still managed to like JL, does LSZ try to help LJY through his heats? Does LJY let him? If suppressants are available, LJY would probably just stay on them throughout the entire marriage, and if they failed he might force LSZ to take A-Yu somewhere far from their home while he deals with it himself. I doubt LSZ would try very hard to help with them, given that he’d either be (1) still hung up over JL in the first year and (2) worried that LJY wouldn’t want to be touched by him in the second and third years.
4) Scenting, marking, and bonding.
- Scenting won’t really be a huge part of the fic plot-wise, I guess, but it would add another layer of “things LJY wishes LSZ did out of love”. He’d be happy to have LSZ’s scent on him (assuming that bonded/marked/married omegas are expected to be marked to as not to attract the attention of other alphas), but he wouldn’t dare to scent LSZ back. And A-Yu would be a wonderful mix of LJY and LSZ’s scents (and A-Yu’s own scent), but it’d just make LJY think about what he’s missing out on.
- Does LSZ mark LJY when they slept together the first time? Does LJY stop him? Who knows. Honestly, it could go either way, and both ways would hurt. Option (A): no marking, no bonding, would result in a marriage that is purely contractual, the way it already is in the fic, but with LJY feeling that this marriage is nothing like what he wants in more ways than just LSZ not loving him. Where is the comfort of having a mark and knowing that your partner wants everyone to know you’re together? Where is the comfort of having a bond and knowing that your partner has willingly bound themselves to you for life? Option (B): marked and bonded. LJY would learn that being marked and bonded means absolutely nothing if LSZ’s heart is not in it. It’s just like a brand, like a mark of possession, except that the owner doesn’t even want to look at what he possesses. Marked and bonded, the feeling of being unwanted is even stronger.
- Okay, but happy ending: after they talk it out, LSZ might scent LJY and ask to be scented back right before they fall asleep, so that they’d sleep as completely mutually scented family for once. And when they exchange ribbons (on their fourth anniversary), they finally mark and bond like they mean it (or, if they’ve already been marked and bonded, they go through the motions again and LJY revels in knowing that it finally means what it wants it to mean).
As you can see…a lot of questions need to be answered, and I didn’t want to dedicate an entire chapter to setting the scene so I just…left this to the reader’s imagination haha

November 20th-November 26th, 2019 Reader Favorites Archive
The archive for the Reader Favorites chat that occurred from November 20th, 2019 to November 26th, 2019. The chat focused on the following question:
What main character do you relate to the most? How relatable does a main character have to be for you to like them?
Capitania do Azar
You know, relatable is simultaneously a very strong and very week word to describe how I see main characters. Sometimes, the MCs I like the most are those I can't relate to in any way, when their actions are so out there and wild that I cannot for the life of me seeing myself doing (regardless of weather I understand their motivations or not). I tend to find secondary characters much more easier to relate to, since they're not so much under the spotlight and get to have personalities that are often less directly connected to the plot, and creators get to have more freedom. That said, on the top of my head, one of my favorite protagonists is Trigger, from Ghost Junk Sickness, https://www.ghostjunksickness.com/, who I cannot, for the life of me, relate to, but whose horrible decisions I find absolutely amusing.
Now, for side characters who I can definitely relate to, I'm gonna go with Aaron from XIIComic, https://xiicomic.com/magic-and-muses/, because that one was love at first sight, eheh(edited)
FeatherNotes
I agree with @Capitania do Azar-- For me, main characters are the ones who would be written with the themes, and the backstory that make them unique enough for a singular experience so i would often find it most difficult to 'fully relate' to them. That said, characters don't have to be very much relatable at all for me to like them , and that most MCs with flaws that are beyond me are who i mainly like bc of their potential complexity! Secondary characters are my go to's, and i relate to them much more quickly! With that said, i def have vibes with Sanna and Dizzy from Startrip http://www.startripcomic.com/cast
Phin (Heirs of the Veil)
I rarely find main characters "relatable", but if they are well-written enough I can like and root for them no matter if I think they are relatable to me personally enough. @Capitania do Azar and @FeatherNotes made really good point as to why this is the case. Anyways a character I still really relate to is Rafael from Superpose (https://superposecomic.com/). Painful gender feelings, people being dismissive of ones gender, the overall feeling of being stuck and not knowing what the future will bring really speaks to me, so reading Superpose I got especially invested. Another character would be Nikita from O Sarilho (http://sarilho.net/en/) and he's very interesting to me because there is a lot about him that feels deeply relatable and familiar but then so many things that are absolutely alienating. I think that makes him an especially alluring character to me.
Cronaj
I agree with the everyone else. I don't really need to relate to a main character to like them. In fact, I just realized on my search through the webcomics I read/enjoy that I don't relate to pretty much ANY of the characters. This might have to do partly with the fact that I read a lot of fantasy, sci-fi, and historical comics, so the issues the characters face are very different than the ones I personally face. That being said, there is one comic where I relate to one of the main characters so much, I actually cried. This is the character Taesoo from the webtoon The Lady and Her Butler. (https://www.lezhin.com/en/comic/ladyandbutler) He is a struggling artist with low self-confidence and the after-effects of a bad relationship with someone who didn't appreciate him. His scars from this situation have remained with him and made it difficult for him to love again. I know this sounds like something straight from a drama, but this legitimately happened to me. (On a side note, I relate to my own characters, but that's because I subconsciously created characters a lot like myself.)
Cap’n Lee (Flowerlark Studios)
Like others have said above me, I don’t really need to relate to a main character to like them. If they’re well written and receive good development, I’ll probably like them on some level. I do tend to gravitate more towards roguish and morally ambiguous characters, and my favourite is usually an outrageous villain. As for my own characters, I put a bit of myself in all of them, but probably none more so than Anor from Children of Shadow. I hadn’t meant to mirror so much of myself in him, but my characters tend to act and grow independently of me. He struggles with depression, PTSD, feelings of isolation, and has a similar queer experience / identity as me. He isn’t me, however, and differs in a lot of ways, too. But I can identify with him probably more than any other character I’ve written.(edited)
Batichi
I feel kinda narcissistic saying so, but the character I do relate to is my own protagonist, mainly because the point of the character was to have one that was more like me I guess. Low energy, unable to feel like they progress, never knowing if points of trauma are growing or hindering being a full person. I never intended a 'full insert' but a lot of their personal journey I feel gets pulled out of my own head since it's where I can pull from. I don't know if that counts or not xD I don't need a character to be relatable for me to be interested in them, but I do need to understand them. 'Defined' feels like too broad of an answer, but when I can be interested in both heart of gold protagonists and drug dealing warlords that's the best I can come up with.
spacerocketbunny
I may not need a character to be relatable to like them but it definitely does make me soft when I can. I think a character I can relate to would be Satinder from Shaderunners http://shaderunners.com/ I think she's a lot more outgoing than me and generally just more jovial and sweet but I relate to her struggle with her relationship with Ivo the most. Pining for someone who doesn't want to settle and just wants to move on bigger and better feels pretty real to me! Other than that I'd say Vic from Inhibit http://www.inhibitcomic.com/ while again I don't relate to his personality or much of his situation, I feel for his struggles SO MUCH. Stuck in that awkward, can't do anything right and just exists in the mediocrity of his situation just gets me all the time.
eli [a winged tale]
I think I relate with main characters who are competent in their own way but FLAWED, and are shown in the story to be facing a struggle. They may not have to make the right decisions or be the most clever, but their reasons are justified (via history, development, relationships). So ultimately it really comes down to the creator’s execution. I’ve been thinking about this question for a while and I think the best example is liking Kushana more than Nausicaa in Miyazaki’s graphic novel (you’ve watched the film, now go read the epic graphic novel!). She is presented as an antihero and a foil to Nausicaa and we see her struggle against how she was raised to the ideal way of dealing with the world presented as a possibility. Edith is also one where you see her being put together on the surface, but hiding deep insecurities inside. Yet she continues to grow, face her fears and maybe make the mistake of being on the wrong ship I jest, but working hard to solve her problems. I find static, good influence characters to be a little bit harder to relate to but if the story is good, I can invest in it.
GGY
Most of my characters stem from small pieces of my personality and experiences. Some of those personalties are exaggerated a bit to drive the plot and explain a few things going on with the characters. I don't have to relate to a character to like them but it is always interesting to see that side of a character that the other characters don't get to see as often or its not apparent. Not that the character is leading a double life or anything but that there are reasons why characters act the way they do and those reasons are either presented in a back story or from that character's perspective of the world. Anyways if I had to bottle it down to one character I think I relate a lot to would be one of my main characters Bridget Killigan of Over 8 Miles mainly because she runs by her own logic of how things go wether or not they are wrong. However this is only because of the result of circumstance, which I can relate to all too well XD(edited)
DanitheCarutor
I don't pay attention to relatability when reading a comic? Like I have no idea what characters I can relation to outside of my own since mine were sorta made to vent my experiences and issues. It's like gender and sexuality, as important as those details can be, I don't actually notice those things unless they're blatantly pointed out. Given that, not a whole lot of people can relate to me personally (I'm a weird person with weird opinions and views), so relatability in characters isn't totally possible and isn't important. Sometimes they can relate in life experiences, or a mood, but that's about it. Character(s) who are fleshed out, growing, and/or who are interesting is what matters most. So I guess I'm kinda parroting what other people have already said.
AntiBunny
Relatable? That's a bit of a tough one. I can care about a character without relating to them. In fact to answer last week's question, having characters I can care about is probably the most important thing to hook me into a webcomic. But relating to a character is different than caring about them. I would at one time say Riff and Torg from Sluggy Freelance, a couple of irresponsible guys getting into hijinks, but I've changed as a person over the years.
I suppose the most relatable character, might be Rhea from Slightly Damned. I say that because she's the one who has to be the responsible one now. She's the oldest of the 3 main characters, but still basically a kid herself. She has to protect and guide these two oddball teenagers, even though she's not even sure of her own place in the world.
I guess as you get older, people start looking to you as a protector, and as a guide, even though you still very much feel like a child wearing an adult suit. So Rhea is someone I can relate to in that regard. She's from http://sdamned.com/
Akreampuff
Sometimes I find I relate to elements of a character - Like when they comment or express an opinion on something - But having a character resonate with me isn't something that really happens often. I can't remember the last time it did. For me to like a character though, they just have to not be a shitty person. Flaws are fine - Flaws are great - But if they are just a horrible person or a flat bleh character then I lose interest very quickly.

Karkat Vantas
RebelVampire
One character I relate to immensely off the top of my head is Shy from Radio Silence http://www.radiosilencecomic.com/ There have been a lot of moments in that comic, especially related to social anxiety, where I have cringed super hard along with Shy because I knew exactly what it was like to feel what he was feeling. It actually makes the comic difficult for me on occasion just cause it brings flashbacks. In terms of the second part, that's a difficult question. I feel like it's super easy to relate to at least small portions of every main character, since people are complex and have a million different sides to them. So, for me at least, I can always find at least a little something I can relate to. But overall, that usually doesn't determine if I like them or not. I'm more concerned about whether I'm invested in their goals and want to see them succeed or suffer for their pursuit of those goals. To me that's what makes a character likeable. So in the end, it's not a question of how much, since I'll always relate in some way. It's just also not important.
