rpg games that have stats that fit their system and their world > rpg games that use the str/dex/const/cha/int/wis stats from dnd just because everyone knows them already despite some of them making super little sense in the game and the game needing to come up with reasons why you would want to invest into e.g. a wisdom build
#myposts#i feel this with fallouts stats too because. fallout 1 and fallout 4 are gameplay wise SUPER fucking diffrent#but they KEPT the stat system because *ohh if you list the initials in order it says s.p.e.c.i.a.l.*#like they need to reach SO hard with this shit sometimes just so some stats even DO anything#like strengh/charm/intelligence solve almost all of your problems#and perception makes enemies appear a bit quicker on the minimap#what a good system#anyways playing citizen sleeper rn and im just :) happy about normal fucking stats#like u can see if the people who make a video game like that know more pen and paper systems than dnd#just based on how dnd-centric the rules are ghjsadgdhsag
