my one problem reading m/m fic is that there's this trope of "one note crazy bitch ex-girlfriend" for the bi/pan partner that pops up in Fandom to Fandom and just takes me out of it. It's kinda like hey! I would like to read for this ship without raging misogyny also being put in my face!

#there is also always exceptions to this trope because women can be abusive too #but theres a certain flavor of “this female character is awful and ooh look shes just mentioned to show you how great this other guy is”#that gives me the ick #there are other thoughts i have about this both in fic and in traditional fiction that I hate #but please for the love of god there are so many other things you can focus on #or if youre writing a female antagonist who is a bad ex partner think #1) motivation 2) personality 3) backstory 4) how can i write this ch without her being a massive caricature
