Nature's Comfort in Times of Grief, Sadness, Depression, & Shadow Work
As the days grow shorter and the veil between worlds thins, those of us in the northern hemisphere prepare for our descent into the darker half of the year. The turning inward begins—a time of reflection, rest, and connection with the mysteries of the unseen. With Samhain and All-Hallows fast approaching, many of us will be honoring our beloved dead, inviting their spirits into our hearths and hearts.
Yet, here in Appalachia, the weight of this season feels heavier than usual. We are still grappling with the aftermath of Helene, not only facing the destruction left in her wake but mourning the loss of family, friends, and neighbors. The land, our sacred connection, has been scarred, and we feel that pain deeply in our spirits. In these moments, grief is a shared burden, an ache that runs through the hills and hollers, touching us all.
With this in mind, I wanted to offer some healing guidance to those of you navigating this challenging time. Grief, loss, and depression can be overwhelming forces, but nature has always provided us with allies—herbs that soothe the spirit and support us through our shadow work. These plants can help us not only process our emotions but also guide us through the necessary inner journeys of transformation and healing.

I really did it!!! I completed the first set this faebruary. I've been planning this because a set of comments in Discord inspired me to make a Fairy AU of Jak and Daxter.
It was hard to sort the characters based on the colors of their outfits or their personalities but I was able to prepare for it. I took inspiration from real-life insects for the wings and the flowers or plants for their outfits, I used flower language for reference. For Jak, he has the wings of a morpho butterfly, and the flower petals I use for his outfit are from the Gerbera Daisy. Gerbera Daisies or African Daisies symbolize innocence, purity, cheerfulness, and loyal love. The Ancient Egyptians believe that these daisies symbolize closeness to nature and devotion to the sun, whereas the Celts thought they lessened the sorrows and stresses of everyday life.
My OC, Jakleen is more of a gold color code type of girl so she gets to have marigolds on her outfit and a matching flower crown. Marigolds represent positive emotions, energy, beauty, warmth, creativity, a drive to succeed, and celebration of the dead, but they also symbolize darker emotions such as jealousy, grief, despair, and mourning. Because of their sun-like appearance, marigolds were often linked to the powerful strength of the sun and represent power, strength, and light that lives inside of a person. Her blue ulysses butterfly wings match Jak because they are twins.
Daxter's ottsel fur matches the color of the monarch butterfly so he can have wings based on it while his shirt was made from the petals of the tiger lily. Matching his loudmouthed and brash personality, tiger lilies symbolize confidence, pride, and wealth. He also wears accessories made out of precursor metal like the Mar twins because the fairy king, Damas adopted him.
Keira Hagai has the wings of a queen Alexandria birdwing butterfly and some parts of her ensemble were made out of violet flowers. Violets are most commonly associated with love but they can also symbolize honesty, protection, dreams, healing, remembrance, determination, and even the idea of setting goals. It really matches her because violets can also be associated with growth, expansion, and peace. They are often viewed as symbols of mental clarity.
Ashelin Praxis has been a flower among the thorns in the Krimzon Guard so her jacket is made from rose petals with a red rose and thorny prints to match her maroon dragonfly wings (Her father has cecropia moth wings). Red roses usually mean love and passion so it really matches her and her love for Torn.
Tess has a colorful but protective personality so she gets a pair of agrias butterfly wings and her outfit is made from the petals of the sunflower. Like her love for Daxter, sunflowers symbolize happiness, optimism, honesty, longevity, peace, admiration, and devotion.
Taryn is quite complicated but I am able to match her with a dahlia flower and her wings are based on a Mormon butterfly. Dahlias symbolize perseverance and the ability to overcome, just like Taryn's personality. They serve as a reminder of the inner strength everyone possesses, even in dark times.
Torn, on the other hand, is very prickly like a cactus so I decided to match his wings to those of an Asian giant hornet while his outfit is made from the leaves of a flowering quince. Just like his role in the Underground (later, Freedom League), quince flowers are seen as a sign of perseverance in the face of adversity and the ability to cope with adversity. The plant reminds us even when things are difficult in one’s life, there is still great capability for greatness in everyone.
Jinx has an explosive personality so his wings are based on a painted jezebel butterfly and his outfit is made from the leaves of a thistle, which really matches him. Thistles symbolize aggressiveness, pain, protection, and pride.
Captain Phoenix had some demons of the past haunting him so I gave him the wings of a Mourning Cloak butterfly and his clothes are sewn from the leaves and petals of a hyacinth flower. By remembering how he failed to stop the Dark Warrior Program, the purple hyacinth specifically, represents sorrow, regret, and forgiveness.
Ximon is laid back and exceedingly friendly so I match him with the luna moth while his outfit is made from the leaves of a zinnia plant. Just like his friendship with Daxter, Zinnias are the flowers of friendship and they symbolize endurance and strong bonds.

The Poetry of Sappho by Sappho; Quotes
"SAPPHO WHO BROKE OFF A FRAGMENT OF HER SOUL FOR US TO GUESS AT."
"Love's priestess, mad with pain and joy of song, Song's priestess, mad with joy and pain of love."
How many times to frail mortals Hast thou not hearkened! Now even I come before thee With oil and honey and wheat-bread, Praying for strength and fulfilment Of human longing, with purpose Ever to keep thy great worship Pure and undarkened.
And thou, sea-born Aphrodite, In whose beneficent keeping Earth, with her infinite beauty, Colour and fashion and fragrance, Glows like a flower with fervour Where woods are vernal! Touch with thy lips and enkindle This moon-white delicate body, Drench with the dew of enchantment This mortal one, that I also Grow to the measure of beauty Fleet yet eternal.
"What fair thing wouldst thou Lure now to love thee?
Peer of the gods he seems, Who in thy presence Sits and hears close to him Thy silver speech-tones And lovely laughter. Ah, but the heart flutters Under my bosom, When I behold thee Even a moment; Utterance leaves me; My tongue is useless; A subtle fire Runs through my body; My eyes are sightless, And my ears ringing; I flush with fever, And a strong trembling Lays hold upon me; Paler than grass am I, Half dead for madness. Yet must I, greatly Daring, adore thee, As the adventurous Sailor makes seaward For the lost sky-line And undiscovered Fabulous islands, Drawn by the lure of Beauty and summer And the sea's secret.
"The girl must have knowledge, To lend her freedom and poise. Naught will avail her beauty, If she have not wit beside.
"Mother of beauty, mother of joy, Why hast thou given to men "This thing called love, like the ache of a wound In beauty's, side, To burn and throb and be quelled for an hour And never wholly depart?"
And joy I knew and sorrow at thy voice, And the superb magnificence of love,— The loneliness that saddens solitude, And the sweet speech that makes it durable,— The bitter longing and the keen desire, The sweet companionship through quiet days In the slow ample beauty of the world, And the unutterable glad release Within the temple of the holy night. O Atthis, how I loved thee long ago In that fair perished summer by the sea!
And no man shall possess me Henceforth and forever.
But thou alone shalt gather This fragile flower of beauty,— To crush and keep the fragrance Like a holy incense. Thou only shalt remember This love of mine, or hallow The coming years with gladness, Calm and pride and passion.
Love shakes my soul, like a mountain wind Falling upon the trees, When they are swayed and whitened and bowed As the great gusts will.
With remembrance and joy. Ah, timid Syrinx, do I not know Thy tremor of sweet fear? For a beautiful and imperious player Is the lord of life.
How I adore thee. Let the hoarse torrent In the blue canyon, Murmuring mightily Out of the grey mist Of primal chaos, Cease not proclaiming How I adore thee.
But more than all sounds, Surer, serener, Fuller with passion And exultation, Let the hushed whisper In thine own heart say, How I adore thee.
I grow weary of the foreign cities, The sea travel and the stranger peoples. Even the clear voice of hardy fortune Dares me not as once on brave adventure. For the heart of man must seek and wander, Ask and question and discover knowledge; Yet above all goodly things is wisdom, And love greater than all understanding. So, a mariner, I long for land-fall,—
Art thou the top-most apple The gatherers could not reach, Reddening on the bough? Shall not I take thee? Art thou a hyacinth blossom The shepherds upon the hills Have trodden into the ground? Shall not I lift thee? Free is the young god Eros, Paying no tribute to power, Seeing no evil in beauty, Full of compassion. Once having found the beloved, However sorry or woeful, However scornful of loving, Little it matters.
For I am eager, and the flame of life Burns quickly in the fragile lamp of clay. Passion and love and longing and hot tears Consume this mortal Sappho, and too soon A great wind from the dark will blow upon me, And I be no more found in the fair world, For all the search of the revolving moon And patient shine of everlasting stars.
"Yet, for all the roses, All the flutes and lovers, Doubt not she was lonely As the sea, whose cadence Haunts the world for ever."
When I have departed, Say but this behind me, "Love was all her wisdom, All her care. "Well she kept love's secret,— Dared and never faltered,— Laughed and never doubted Love would win. "Let the world's rough triumph Trample by above her, She is safe forever From all harm. "In a land that knows not Bitterness nor sorrow, She has found out all Of truth at last."
My lover smiled, "O friend, ask not The journey's end, nor whence we are.
"Lo, these are wiser than the wise. And not for all our questioning Shall we discover more than joy, Nor find a better thing than love! " Let pass the banners and the spears, The hate, the battle, and the greed; For greater than all gifts is peace, And strength is in the tranquil mind."
How strange is love, O my lover! With what enchantment and power Does it not come upon mortals, Learned or heedless! How far away and unreal, Faint as blue isles in a sunset Haze-golden, all else of life seems, Since I have known thee!
In the quiet garden world, Gold sunlight and shadow leaves Flicker on the wall. And the wind, a moment since, With rose-petals strewed the path And the open door. Now the moon-white butterflies Float across the liquid air, Glad as in a dream; And, across thy lover's heart, Visions of one scarlet mouth With its maddening smile.
Love is so strong a thing, The very gods must yield, When it is welded fast With the unflinching truth. Love is so frail a thing, A word, a look, will kill. Oh lovers, have a care How ye do deal with love.
Then I became as that shepherd Loved by Selene on Latmus, Once when her own summer magic Took hold upon her With a sweet madness, and thenceforth Her mortal lover must wander Over the wide world for ever, Like one enchanted.
Loving Heart, There must be an end to summer, And the flute be laid aside. On a day the frost will come, Walking through the autumn world, Hushing all the brave endeavour Of the crickets in the grass.
Frail as dew upon the grass Or the spindrift of the sea, Out of nothing they were fashioned And to nothing must return. Nay, but something of thy love, Passion, tenderness, and joy, Some strange magic of thy beauty, Some sweet pathos of thy tears, Must imperishably cling To the cadence of the words, Like a spell of lost enchantments Laid upon the hearts of men. Wild and fleeting as the notes Blown upon a woodland pipe, They must haunt the earth with gladness And a tinge of old regret.

____________________
August 18th, 1782: the day god took a man who scratched his way from life with three bullets in his soul.
____________________
John Laurens wrote poems on the curves of Alexander Hamilton’s skin. Every freckle on Alexander’s skin was a star; he could make galaxies from the flecks. In the back of his mind, he counted every last one, silently adding them to the constellations in the sky. Gathering the careful breath in his fingertips. Fire cast a shadow on the cabin wall, tracing shapes and figures into the wood. Like a melody, John wished to recite all his dreams, return Alexander’s heart in a beautiful box. He’s fading fast. There was something about dying that caught forgotten memories and like film flashing before his sight. On his back, the grass beneath him was a laying foundation, weak fingers dug into the earth, willing to burrow away.
John soon would be a part of the earth, from his stomach a patch of indigo flowers would form, growing, weaving and intertwining their vines across his chest. Fingers scratched at his sides, nails pressing into the soil- it was so peaceful now. Silence was an emblem, a entity he had craved. The dust of war contaminated his lungs and bullets reverberated in the empty cavern of his breast, cracking his ribs. A fading scar on his left shoulder throbbed, the first art of war ingrained into the crack of his sheath. There was the fading scent of sweat, salt biting at the flesh of his tongue. Warning echoed in his ears, the reckless caress of his stolen heart.
In a way, he never imagined that he would fall like so many others he has seen. They sucked in a final breath, caught the sun as it shone over the horizon and tried to commemorate the last time that they saw a sunset. Musing remembrance of times long past. The smoke from a simmering fire, gunpowder and a smile so familiar it was a piecing of himself. Somehow he’d expected Alexander’s face to loom from above, shadowing the heavens in a silhouette of majestic beauty. But Alexander wasn’t here. Alexander wouldn’t graze his knuckles along his cheek or trace the padding of his thumb, wiping away the tears that were streaming down his face.
John didn’t even comprehend he was crying into his lips tasted of grimy salt, they dried on the dirt that caked his face from the impact of the soil beneath his weight. John’s boots indented the excrement beneath his footing when his horse fell- flashed of ruby seared throughout. From the anger, refusal stuck her loin and a lame flower bent like a beast to lap the singular floods of his conception. The first bullet exited from the gun of a boy. But the guns are reserved now, and only smoke fills the clouds, every bite of frozen, hard steel tore open his case and in the plains of ivory and shamrock, blood of the men soaks the surface. They were just pioneers, in a chance to make a name- their titles perished in the aura that sunk to the waves. It dug into his thigh. The second bullet christened itself inside his gut. It burrowed and grew into a ebony rose of forgotten prospects cultivating and lapping the blood as it flowed. The third shot just below his heart, the splintering fragments of his ribs spiking the interior of the catacomb.
There were only moments left in his life. Twenty eight years of a reckless streak pressed into his bones. His respire was fading short past his insolence, the feeling of blood choking his own lungs. There was another alien about beaming up at the heavens for the last time, something about the the fresh breeze of wind flowing over his cheeks like mountains of pale roseate sunshine and glowing ice of snow. Because for a twinkling his perception let him only follow the minuscules beauties of life he hadn't yet witnessed. How dirt felt impressed underneath his nails or how the trees cast shadows and shapes across the rushing field of emerald. John blinked, twitching, shimmering his cheek bone and trying to revive.
His brain was stolen by the artifact, John Laurens was unable to find the grace in the world around him. John’s world was Alexander, but even as he was gone, the world kept spinning on. In the sun above he found Alexander’s crooked smile, immodest curling upward to a sneer, and the specks of dust that coated his cheeks he could imitate Alexander’s freckles, dotting the planet in the specks of magnitude. The constellations dotting Alexander’s nose and his heightened cheek bones always guided him home. They led straight up to his lover’s conviction and in there he found solitude, and a home and in there was the sky that gave him a world. Glossy, as the sun shining above. Freckles like sparks to stain the ashy moonlight.
John was aware that he was fading. Death comes in its own time, in its own way. Death is as unique as the individual who experiences it. Between the blood suffocating his lungs, the blood seeping from his stomach, and fragment in the bone of his leg- John had been in many battles, held many angels as they left from the casings where they used to hide. He often found himself wondered when the angels went when he needed to fly; or like the waves crashing in the rolling tides, he would stand, spread his wings to attempt to float. He’d fall straight down to distant flames, catching fire as the flame licked his wings. Sin cloaking his integument, he’d scrub and it never brushed off. Craven beaches in the past, leaves on palms stricken black.
The loss of feeling began at his feet, covering the muddy boots that Alexander used to wrap his hands around and tug off, throw into a corner.Numbness came from an exhausted oblivion, the quiet chaos. John’s felt the greatest happiness within the cabin door; glamorous, glorious and legacy of tears. He’d also experienced the greatest sorrow and ripped him from the core. For John Laurens, he’d been numb before and feeling no more. He’d been numb for so long he’d forgotten what it was like to break. Now, he felt everything, while he lay dying and all his emotions collided into one awful dip. The numbness rose from his toes, for the first time he could feel.
He didn’t want it to go away.
There was still a man who lived inside his caged soul. Alexander once told him to undress, but John didn’t know how, his walls were so high he couldn’t reach around. Soon he would be as empty as a night sky without the moon and the stars and cosmos to guide to inky darkness to the sun. When death comes for John Laurens, he’s supposed to be numb, but he can still feel. He can ambiance Alexander giving up on him in his New York city house with his alluring wife and month old son. Because standing in a crowd, John finds himself being pulled under the brick and cobble stone to drown, silence slaps a hand over his mouth and his legs were being torn, yet his ocean glowing eyes still continued to scream for Alexander to pull him out.
His legs started to numb, reaching up to his thighs and pressed light weight against his hips. Alexander nimble, shifting hands sneaking fingers beneath in breeches, when candle shine illuminated against the cabin walls, the torch matched the hue of his cheeks when Alexander went between his thighs. He was rough, because John hid all his poems inside his mouth, behind his neck and between his thighs, Alexander found all those places and drew them out to flesh. Like the moon, he had a side of him so dark the moon didn’t shine, and a fragment of himself so cold that the sun couldn’t ignite it. Alexander’s nails tearing up his back created love stories that healed the pink flesh, his smile was worn like a loaded gun, John lay at the end of the barrel tossing himself closer with every spin of the revolver to see what was in the interior.
The edges of his fingers came next, like a cloud of dust that buzzed across the surface of his skin, fingers that Alexander used to kiss, dragging his lips slowly against the rough edges of his nails, he gazed from above as he drew one into his mouth and licked his way across. Fingers that would wrap themselves around Alexander’s curls, his moan silenced by a hand covering his entrance and John pressed further. When he watched his knuckles in Alexander’s mouth as he was on his knees he noticed how his freckles were flecks of fire, flames that spread up his hand and burned his skin. His eyes decided to burn, reflecting the fire in the place, he chose to set John on fire instead of watching him burn.
How could Alexander not be a poet when his eyes sung verses and lyrics to him?
The darkness dripped indolently through his back, a posterior where Alexander’s finger nails drew scars and where a comforting appendage would rest in the S figure. Where bite marks became clustered into cherry blossoms on his shoulders and the gaze down towards Alexander as he glanced up with those large beautiful orbs. The purple marks sucked into his neck were little footprints that he left to remind him that he was there. John longed to undress his intellect, but he was afraid to be naked, feared that Alexander might see the bite scars on his heart. John has bites on his tongue from all the words he never said.
John did not understood Alexander’s infatuation with sucking his lips against his neck, until one day Alexander’s teeth grazed his pulse, and John realized instead of choosing to ripe of the veins and leave him to bleed- he chose to embrace him alternately. Alexander drunk life into his now dead lips, because he wrote him love notes on the curves and grooves of his skin. When the numb contrast took motion in his back, climbed up his neck from his chest, it stole the memories of purple pressings against his sheath, brought darkness to the golden lashes of scratches at his core.
In time John would forget all of these things, and consign to oblivion. The butterflies in your stomach might turn into wasps, when your stomach flutters or your heart aches, sometimes it’s not love- it’s pain. Soon the butterflies it his stomach would cease flight and the white roses to wilt. Because Alexander was a firework and he flew across the sky, John fell into the trap of its colors; but we all know that happens after the colors burst- they turn to ashes that tumble sinking from the sky. Alexander was delicious, and John was greedy, always hungry and thirsting for more. He inhaled up the alkaline sweat of his lover’s percussion. Even as the memories made his senses burn, he wouldn’t trade knowledge of Alexander for all the money in the world.
He was too beautiful.
Oceans washed over his bark, meadows bloomed across his limbs, stardust pulsed across his hips and planets collided splendidly in his eyes every time he was kissed. John at no time allowed himself to cry, but as the meadow sang out in fading smoke and bullet ash flooded the battlefield, Alexander would lit a cigar with the bundles of tears racing down his cheeks and after his lips somehow found strength to stretch into a smile, John thought that chaos was a beautiful stone and it crashed into the earth. With all these memories washing over him like feral waves to his wisdom, hopeless and loveless, he’d never see the currents rolling and tossing in the harbor, never bare witness to his daughter's giggle because he did not give a damn. He’d never shut his eyes, toss his neck back, arching his hips as the immigrant etched stitches in the sharded fragment of his soul.
Fade in the forest, whispered by branches as they blow, in the candlelight a trial of words leaped across the walls and told stories he’d never heard before. All his life John wondered what it was like to die, feel his tears as they dry into the dust the caked his exterior in tidal waves of filth. You eventually go numb, because you cannot break a heart that’s already broken; you cannot mend a heart which has been shattered, because somewhere in the past you forgot a piece- and without that one solitary shard, it will not fit together; It will break once again. The castles in the clouds that Alexander promised he’d take him to somewhere were dropping brick and soot, raining down from nebula's.
His chest quivered, shoulders tremoring as his body began to shut down. Soon he wouldn’t be able to move. John Laurens once got caught in the hurricanes of Alexander Hamilton’s eyes, he still was slipping beneath the waves with no one to pull him through. Twilight was settling across the plain, a sob reverberated through up his neck, soon the last place he could feel pain was in the tears that cast waves of dusted gold across the flake and tear of his sheath. He realized that no matter how luminous you shine, how beautiful the flames look across your skin, they will always leave you charred, you will always end up burnt. Alexander had an inferno in his fingertips, when his eyes of royal stripped up to meet his own, John remembered why the world kept spinning or why he wasn’t shot just yet, the atoms collided because of fate.
His unconquerable soul, he had fallen into the clutches of circumstance, he did not wince of cry out under chance. In a path of wrath and tears and forgotten loins, John Laurens dug himself into the dirt and cried. He cried for a man he’d known for only four years, he sobbed in the fire and screamed in the shadow of shame, hollowed for the auburn strips of hair he coiled around his fingertips and moaned. He bellowed for his lovers touch to guide him on his way. The faded scratches in the rip of his back were beginning to bleed, his stomach falling into the abyss.
He didn’t want to die.
His chest heaved in the cheek colored light of unsound glory with the salty stain of tears running into his cheeks. His lips lost their feelings, in second he’d forget what it was like to feel Alexander’s touch. He waited for Alexander’s hair to irritate his chin each night, pressing deeper into discomfort, no piercing scream, just pleasure seems. The sowed and bent a new decorated grin in the place of his lips. Alexander was everything that he had fought for, until he realized that he wasn’t ready for war. He wasn’t ready to get scorched and he wasn’t ready to let go. He wasn’t ready for his vision to roll back and dismissed what has passed. Wasn't ready to fade to charcoal who he loved until his last gasp drew from his lungs and head sat silent; the blood at a pause.
He didn’t want to obliterate Alexander gentle caress, or rough shaking breath against the shell of his ear. He wasn’t ready to catch the sky fading or get caught mesmerized as he dreams from above. He wasn’t ready to go until he saw Alexander’s eyes, for he didn’t need the sky. He wasn’t equipped until he inhaled Alexander’s hair, peaches and marigold flowers with a white colored poses. He wasn’t wired to depart until he felt Alexander’s legs wrapped around his waist as he pressed him up against a wall and tasted his misery with fluttering eyelashes and reverberated screams.
John couldn’t aura anything anymore as he shuddered to an end. Like gangrene it spread up from his toes, biting his flesh, up to his neck, nibbling his fingers. Death is not proud, of the men he has stole, or the hearts he has stopped and lessons he’s told. Death took John Laurens, as he gazed at the celestials. He absorbed in an insulation, the empyrean envied Alexander’s optics, fire scolded the freckles the flecked his lover’s nose. Perhaps John ached for freedom, for that’s the blue in that man’s eyes, it was given as a present from the fabric of the sky, John yearned to return. John never would get to say goodbye, return the piece of Alexander who has jumped into his own gaze, for when John submits to darkness, he wouldn’t be alone, for a part of Alexander would be with him, the day god took him home.
John stood in the darkness, waiting all this time, while he damned the dead, he tried to survive, he wasn’t ready to die. He wasn’t ready to pass. He drew a final breath and fell into death’s open arms, he thought of Alexander and his eyes joined the stars. Freckles flaking and sprinkling like star dust on Alexander's skin. John had nightmare each night, but not of the war or being shot or chased, but always worrying one day he'd forget each freckle on Alexander's face. They spilled in waterfalls across his shoulders, splashed over his cheeks. The harvesting sapphires above, stare love into his eyes, he'd loved the way he captivated and connected with his fingertips the those freckles that clouded over him, so smile Alexander, after the leaves fall, displaying the flaws, John still loves the beauty of Autumn color of his cheeks.
“I’m not ready…”, his voice whispered to the trees, carried away by the wind, punishing his guard, a last tear stroked his cheek and fell to the dirt covered earth. The sky wasn’t the last thing he saw, the sky was Alexander’s eyes, and that’s what he saw. The numb shattered his heart, it was so silent now.
“Alexander…”
A heart of gold stopped beating, god broke another man’s heart, because he only takes the best. That man wasn’t ready, he faded too fast. John wished to see Alexander beauty, a grace before he passed. Death stole John Laurens, fate pushing him to the ground, love shattered his heart, glory spoiled his spirit and broke his soul. There was a road to eternity, a cobblestone path, death has taken many men who fought bloody crafts. They willed to take Alexander, just so John could rest. The chain of fate snapped. That very same night Alexander blinked at the moon, thinking that John was watching it too.
But John was gone, in a quill and a pen Alexander wrote a letter to heaven that would never arrive. Death of a thief who stole everyone’s soul. Nobody would know that John never wanted to go. He didn’t long to go until he saw Alexander’s eyes, felt his gaze on his back, colored his sky with his dream and mended the seams. A tree on a hill sits, underneath the dirt where roses are blue and thorns prick you of blood, a man it buried with vines twisting his skin, the dirt underneath his nails as he scratched his way from life, dreaming of the only man he ever loved.
He never got to say goodbye.

Harini Natarajan Hyderabd040-395603080 September 11, 2019
It is a traumatic time when a loved one passes away. If a close friend of yours is grieving the death of a family member or loved one, you need to be there for them. You need to support them and let them know that you are grieving by their side. It is an appropriate and welcome gesture to send your friend a thoughtful sympathy gift at such times. It shows them that they are loved and you are thinking of them in this difficult time.
While flowers are the most common gifts sent to someone who is grieving, there is no reason you cannot think outside the box. People go through a lot when a loved one passes. Instead of adding to their tasks, you could think of gifting your friend or the family something different. It could be something practical that helps them out or something decadent to remind them to take care of themselves. It could also be a memorial gift in honor of the person who has passed away.
