Here is the fucking tea about this season
First lets talk about Will. The fact that Will barely got any screen time fucking annoys me. He is used as a prop. Noah is a an amazing actor but he hardly gets recognition for his work. Anyway Will is defiantly gay. The fact he hd no interst in girls and obviously doesn't want anything to do with them is really showing. Will obviously has an accepting mother and brother who could care less about who he dates. So it'll be interesting to see (hopefully) how they develop that. I defiantly see him in love with Mike and Mike being oblivious to it. Mike has always been there for him and was the only one who is always genuinely been concerned for him. I see why feelings may be devopled. Do I think it'll happen eeeh idk I doubt it though. Will in this season was great and I wish I saw more of him. I'd love to see a plot of him figuring out or coming out as gay.
Now we move onto Eleven. I have mixed feelings honestly. I agree with Hopper on the fact that Mike and her where spending waaay to much time together just to make out. I liked her taking her own independence and learning she needs to start thinking for herself. I also enjoyed the friendship between her and Max. They seem to have connection and I can't wait to see more. But then she just seemed to tug on Mike's heart strings. Like the whole sub plot of her breaking up with him just to play with his feelings and ingore him cause he lied once is dumb to me. I don't think they are meant to be. I thought their relationship was cute but now its just kinda toxic. But I enjoyed her action scenes cause it does seem like she was getting stronger. I also liked how Millie acted in the scenes of distress or fighting. I loved her and the Billy plot. Like both have traumatic past and they lead two paths. Overall meh but I like the badass part of her.
Dustin's turn. I loved him this season. He defiantly is funny and would make a great sober buddy lmao. He really wasn't much of a change he was still the same loveable nerd I love. I want to see him with Suzie omg she was aborble and I see why he likes her. I need more of her lmao. Anyways still the same nerd I know and love.
Oh god Lucas. Lucas was kinda meh this season. He went from the logic guy to the dumbass. I feel like the only reason was so they could write Max as being the smart one of the couple which sucks but whatever. He was defiantly more of a friend to everyone then Mike. I didn't enjoy many of his scenes only cause he turned into the bud of jokes. But otherwise he was ok.
Next is Max. I loved her this season lmao. She was badass as usually and was a strong person. I love seeing her understanding why Billy is the way he is. I loved her telling Eleven that being a girl is ok. My only problem was her and Lucas' relationship. I think both of them should be smart and kickass not just her ya know?
Lastly Mike (I'm tired so I'm gonna continue this in a reblog) I saved him for last cause ooooh boy do I have feelings. Mike was a dick this season. It's obvious that having Eleven break up with him did not help. He was so rude to Will this season which is so unlike him. Will tried so hard to cheer up Mike only to have Mike bring up his sexuality which clearly made Will upset. Mike was rude to all the party memebers besides Eleven. He honestly was so mean and it just made me want to slap some sense into him. Mike was only concerned about Eleven. Which makes me sad cause its obvious to me that Mike just turned into a dick. Mike clearly has some internalized homophobia or biphopia going on. Cause obviously from his sexist comments he isn't being influenced right. Also him brining up Will's sexuality like it was a bad thing then going oH I'm nOT TryInG tO Be a JeRk pissrd me off. Anyway someone slap this boy.

K.A.R.D “Trust Me” MV Review
The following is an important™ news bulletin for DSP Media
Hello, my loves!! This is Jace (aka Felicity B) and I am beyond frustrated this is my review for K.A.R.D’s Trust Me!! And you can trust me that a bitch is gonna be faded after reading this review.
~The Song~
Trust Me is very different than anything we’ve heard from K.A.R.D before. The beat is very somber; it doesn’t call much attention to itself, which is very important for songs like this. You want the vocals to be front and center.
Trust Me can be interpreted in one of two ways - the beginning of the end of a relationship, or one that’s going through a rough patch. I like to think it’s the latter, but considering how You in Me was about an obsessive relationship, I’m not going to fault anyone for thinking the former.
I just happen to be a soft hearted bitch.
Anyway.
Trust Me has flecks of that Tropical sound that K.A.R.D has made their mainstay since their predebut days, but they’ve been packaged in a downtempo beat to better fit the subject matter of the lyrics. And speaking of the lyrics, the vocals are considerably less effected than usual, which is very nice. The more raw (or dry) vocals allow Somin and Jiwoo to convey the vulnerability of being unsure of their relationships.
All in all, it’s very nice to hear a softer side from K.A.R.D. Which is more than a little frustrating that this is being treated as a thank you release for the fans, and wasn’t chosen to be promoted with (or instead of) You in Me.
When I reviewed You in Me, I was bummed that it felt entirely too safe for a boundary pushing group like K.A.R.D. Credit where it’s due - they did give us a little something different (more Livin Good with a dash of Don’t Recall than Hola Hola or Oh Na Na) and that video was something most groups would be too Puss scared to do, but overall it felt entirely too samey.
This is what I needed from them back in November.
Like I mentioned above, this song is very different than anything K.A.R.D has released before. I never quite imagined that I would hear a song like this from them. I figured that Livin Good was about as personal or ~downtempo~ as this group was gonna get, but they swiftly blew away that thought process.
Trust Me is soft, but it hits like a ton of bricks. Trust Me is not a typical ballad (and I wouldn’t want one from K.A.R.D, anyway), but it gives me more than 90% of ballads I’ve listened to since becoming a Kpop fan.
And, sis. Thats about five years of ballads.
Trust Me is just so good, you guys!! It totally would have been the P E R F E C T way to have gotten some new ears n eyes on K.A.R.D. Sure, it’s a big risk, but it’s one K.A.R.D and their agency ought to have no problem taking.
But DSP media went with You in Me, and I’m just a bitter fucking bitch.
~The Video~
Trust me is a very simplistic video.
It lacks the usual flair and drama (okay, there’s a lil bit of drama here) that entails a K.A.R.D’s video. But that doesn’t take away from how well made this video is. In fact, it helps center the memebers and the emotions/message they’re conveying with Trust Me.
It’s very beautiful.
I’d even say I like it better than their usual videos, but that’s because all the flashing lights mess with my head. I guess I’m just a basic bitch, sis.
~The Choreography~
K.A R.D’s routines have always been simple, and I’ve had mixed feelings about that. On one hand, I’m tired of these groups comin out on stage and doing fucking tumbling routines for no reason other than to prove how competent they are as dancers (even though they have shit sync and half the members are struggling to do the moves right); but on the other, K.A.R.D are better than the same five moves they do in all their damn routines.
I know I made a joke about it in my last K.A.R.D review, but J Seph is not a bad dancer.
In fact, he does very well here. They all do. This routine is simplistic, but I’m not mad at it. There’s a contemporary twist to it that helps convey the message of the song.
I’d like it a lot if DSP continued this trend of couple dances in K.A.R.D’s routines. I’d like it a lot if they threw in some same gender bits (as I’m sure Matthew’s thotful ass would), but the chance of that happening is mo slim than me admitting I’m wrong. So I’m good with the next best thing.
Especially when the next best thing is as nice as it is here.
Seeing the members of K.A.R.D dance with each other as well as they do is such a breath of fresh air, sis. I’ve seen so many fucking co/ed stages where the movements are awkward, a little too restrained (fam, if you’re dancing Troublemaker, you need to grab that girl like you wanna fuck her; it’s literally that simple), and even a few where they don’t even interact. But the members of K.A.R.D are just so comfortable with each other. It feels Right™ when they dance together.
~Overall and Final Thoughts~
If you can’t tell, Trust Me is the comeback that I wanted from K.A.R.D instead of You in Me.
It’s a much softer song, but it had the potential for a greater impact. It would have been a risk, but one it’d have paid off, if you asked me. Like I mentioned earlier, it’s seasonally appropriate (slower songs like these usually do well during the Fall/Winter months) and it presented a more emotionally mature/vulnerable side of K.A.R.D that we hadn’t seen before.
It’s just a little infuriating, because K.A.R.D is far too talented to just be “that co/ed group that does Tropical Pop”. I have absolutely no problem with them doing Tropical Pop, because they do it well. In fact, K.A.R.D does Tropical Pop in a manner that their contemporaries really can’t. But I’d like for them to do more, ya know?!?!? They’re so stinkin talented, and I want more for them, sis.

☾Extended Project: The Secondary Research (Technical) ☾
When it comes to a technical side of drawing, as an Art Director, I needed to decide what would be the best way to produce work that would then be sent to the 3D modellers later on in the process. The work being sent needed to be clear and also come with image planes for the 3D modellers to work off of, all new skills for the artists to work on. Straight away, this was a difficult task for all memebers of my art group, including myself, as none of us had ever drawn an image plane before. I personally struggled with having to imagine something from a different angle or 3D perspective. Because I struggled with this, I couldn’t help the other artists so instead I showed them examples on the internet, YouTube tutorials and asked Callum, a 3D artist, to help explain how to create an image plane so that he can use. I created a few image planes throughout this project but I believe I will need more practice as I’m still not getting all the proportions correctly drawn and that would have made it hard for the 3D artists to work off of.
Image Plane for Eliza
From my own personal skill point, I mainly draw digitally as I feel there is less pressure to design the correct thing first try, and I also feel digital drawing is crisper, with the possibility to edit the picture with so many more tools. My biggest decision on my own personal level was choosing what colouring techniques I preferred, whether that was through paint or water colour.
Paint (Left) and Watercolour (Right)
Both look very different; paint being a very solid, thick colour, whereas water colour glides around the page and is fairly translucent. I love that paint can bring that rich colour and really emphasise an area of a drawing. I think that paint can give a drawing a more professional look due to the boldness of the colour. In terms of our project, paint would be a very good option as, even though the game is dark, it includes a lot of bright purples and greens, something paint could portray very well. On the other hand, water colour, even though soft, can create quite an eery tone due to its ‘watered-down’ colour tones. It brings a sense of mystery and shadow that again, would fit well within our game as we need to included that sense of mystery and curiosity.
To combat this issue, I have decided to colour most drawings in paint but any details I want to add some mystery or quirkiness to, I will use watercolour. Overall, I think the mixture of both colour techniques will work quite well as they are bringing both bold and eery connotations to each drawing.
Eliza Has Been Coloured with Paint Except her Hair which is Done in Watercolour
Over the course of this project, I really wanted the chance to be able to improve my digital drawing skill as that is the industry standard in game companies. Moving from pencils and paper to using Adobe Sketch on my iPad has been a turbulent journey, with me feeling frustrated and confused on why I could draw on paper but not digitally. However, I practiced everyday and learnt quickly on how I have to hold the pen slightly differently, for example. Now I much prefer working on my iPad due to the final drawing being of a much high quality.
Changing and developing my art style to turn it more ‘Tim Burton-esque’ was quite easy for me as I still haven’t really found my own style so using his designs as inspirations really helped me establish more of a grasp on my own art style. However, a lot of the artists in group B didn’t have such luck with changing their art style. They didn’t really want to adapt their art style for this project as they were comfortable drawing how they knew, but me and Lauren wanted them to step out of the box and try doing something they hadn’t done before. Some artists also hadn’t researched into Tim Burton and his work so didn’t really know the style they were trying to take inspiration from. They hadn’t grasped his consistent art style such as the big round eyes, so again, me and Lauren pushed for them to look into and research him. Finally, we had a extreme problem with attendance, with most of group B not coming in regularly. Due to this, they hadn’t learnt and gotten to know the characters the writers had created for the story, making it a lot harder for them to create a personality through the drawing of the character. To counteract this fairly crucial problem, I created an art guide of the facial features of characters and which characters would have a specific feature. In the corner, I also added information on what pen size or colour to use and how to add detail if needed, such as shading.
Eyebrow ‘How To’ Guide
There were a few practical and technical issues along the way when creating artwork for the game. The first problem we encountered was that not everyone knew how to use Photoshop confidently or how to draw digitally in general. A lot of the artists felt more comfortable drawing in pencil on paper so encouraging them to move their work to Photoshop was quite a difficult task. I was able to show my group a few tips on how to work well in Photoshop but most of the group A artists took their own initiative and found tutorials on how to use the software.
Another problem me and Lauren faced as leaders is trying to help other artists learn how to create image planes for the 3D artists to work off of. Like I mentioned before, this was hard as most of us had never tried to show our 2D work from a 3D perspective so it was definitely a learning curve in the journey of our art skills. The best me and Lauren could do was show the other artists example of 3D image planes and get them to watch tutorials to grasp a true understanding on how to create them.
From a leadership point of view, I learnt a lot about how to run this process in the best possible way. My goal form the beginning was to make every artist feel involved and proud of their work, make them feel like they contributed to the making of the game. In the specialism essay I did for a previous unit, it was interesting to discover the best ways to head my group, making sure I exhibited excellent organisational and time management skills and also bring an excellent blend of people skills and an ability to implement and enforce rules and regulations effectively. I believe I have done well leading group A art group as all artwork produced has been successful and to a really high standard. Everyone in the group gets on and feels counted for, Nathan and Ryan seemed to have become best friends!
Delegating tasks was also a crucial part of the organisational and leadership skills I needed to use to lead my group successfully to the end of this project. Every week I made sure that all my artists knew what they were doing and felt like they could answer me any questions if they were unsure about the task they wer set. I was very open and welcome to suggestions made by artists as I wanted to get second views and opinions on things, but I was also strong enough to make decisions and not let people voice their ideas louder than other memebers of the group.
