As always many thoughts...
You laughed at his unexpected response as he ran his rough fingers along Rose's fuzzy hair. "Don't forget about the seafood platters." "Sweetheart, I'll never forget about the seafood platters," he promised, turning to look at you as his head sank back against the couch.
Of course he wouldn't 😅
"I am." His brown eyes remained fixed on yours. "I am. I told you I was. I want them close, but not too close. Like, I don't want them next door where they can hear me call you my filthy little slut or something." "Bradley," you said, laughing again as he took Rose in his hands to burp her. "They don't need to know the ins and outs of how you call me Daddy while you're gagging on my cock either." He kissed the baby on her forehead. "Sorry, Nugget. I'll teach you one day how babies are made, and you'll probably cringe the whole time."
Hahah this whole conversation cracked me up 😂
You couldn't believe how quickly he shut it down. "It was just an idea," you mumbled, watching him snuggle the baby. "So you wouldn't have to miss Rose the whole time while you're away."
Ok rude of Bradley, it was just a nice thought 🙄😒
You nodded and hummed, lips brushing the scars on his neck. "I'm just happy you remembered." "Sweetheart, I remember everything," he promised. "And I propose that we plan a trip for the three of us before the year is over. We can go anywhere you and the Nugget want."
🥰🥰🥰
"We'll be fast," he replied confidently, turning off the stove burner. "You're never fast! You like to linger!" "It's a new era, Baby Girl. The mom and dad era. I'll learn how to be quick so we can finish before she wakes up."
Haha I can't with him
"Oh, I love this so much," he whined as his other fingers found your clit. "I'm not happy about making this quick. I might need more later."
Of course he does 🤭
He could already hear Rose getting restless in the nursery down the hallway, her soft cries ramping up as Bradley slammed his cock into his wife. He wanted to make sure he got you off before he was done, but then you went and said something so hot, he knew he wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer. "I could always nurse you later if you want." "I take it you're interested in my offer." "Absolutely," he rasped, pulling his pants up so he could go say hi to his daughter. "If I ever say no to your tits, something is definitely wrong, Baby Girl. That would be your cue to take me out back and finish me off."
🤭🤭🤭
"When's the wedding?" you asked Jake as you dropped your tray next to his at lunch. He was eating the most delicious looking burger and a slice of pizza, and your soup and salad looked pitiful next to them. Seemingly no matter what you did, you'd stopped losing weight since the baby was born, and right now you were so exhausted, you couldn't even think about starting an exercise regimen.
Oh no, she is too hard on herself 🥺
"We've been engaged less than a month," Jake drawled, shoving some of the accompanying fries into his mouth. "Maybe some of us can wait a little longer to get hitched than your husband could, Angel."
Oh don't act like a saint Jake, we all know you wanna marry her sooner rather than later an if Cat had a buch of trauma and needs time because of that, they would have been married already 😅
Jake heaved a deep sigh, dragging a fry through ketchup. "He already calls me 'dad'. His speech was delayed, but it was still one of his first words, probably because I was around so much. I want to make sure Cat's ex doesn't get any rights, and if that means I need to hire another legal team before we get married, then so be it."
Dad Jake 🥹🥰
Maybe you could just get pizza. But you shouldn't. But it sounded so good as you watched Jake eat his. But your hips and belly were already so big, you couldn't let yourself.
Maybe maybe there is something else going on, hmm 🤭
"You look like a DILF."
He sure does 😌
"Be honest, how many of these do you think I'll need?" You snorted. "Unless every night is happy hour at the Copacabana, probably none. But knowing you, I'd pack at least two."
Hahaha this is so Bradley 😅
"This sucks," Bradley said for probably the hundredth time in the past hour. Standing at the curb at San Diego International Airport with a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter, being forced to leave them for a week, was actually awful. He didn't want to go. He wanted to continue to cradle Rose against his chest with his arm wrapped around you until he missed his flight. "You need to go or you'll miss your flight. And then Mav will be on my case about it."
He just loves to be with his girls 🥰
Before he ducked inside, he cupped his free hand to his mouth and shouted, "I love you!" He watched you blow him a kiss and then pull away from the curb before he headed to the counter to drop off his bag.
🥰🥰🥰
To his absolute delight, all he had to do was ask nicely and flash his most charming smile, and he was handed the keys to a brand new, black Bronco. It was a model year newer than your red one back at home, and he was excited to scrutinize all of the little differences as he drove it around for the week.
He is living his best life 😅
Was he really that guy? Did he already miss his kid enough that he had to open up the photo gallery in his phone and scroll through a few pictures before he could drive away?
Yes, he absolutely 100% is
"Lieutenant Commander Bradshaw," she said, eyes snapping back up to meet his. "All the way from Top Gun. I've been waiting to meet you for weeks, Sir."
Oh oh this feels like trouble 😬🫣

Once again, your parents extended their stay to spend more time with Rose, but when they finally flew back to Maryland, it felt strange to be on your own with your daughter. You and Bradley fell into a regular routine once more, but it took him days before he came clean about being stressed out. When he got home late from work to find you on the couch feeding Rose, you could tell by the set of his shoulders that he'd had a long day.
"Can we talk about some things?" he asked, bending to untie his boots. You'd been wanting him to confide in you for days, but you were already exhausted again from the late night feedings and had pushed the comments Bradley made to Jake to the back burner.
"What's on your mind?" you asked, secretly pleased that he leaned down to give you a long, needy kiss, complete with his big hand on your neck, before kissing Rose as she ate. It had been a few days since you and he were intimate, and your body was already responding to him as he dropped down on the couch next to you.
"Can we just move to La Jolla? Nothing stresses me out when we have copious amounts of champagne and oral sex."
You laughed at his unexpected response as he ran his rough fingers along Rose's fuzzy hair. "Don't forget about the seafood platters."
"Sweetheart, I'll never forget about the seafood platters," he promised, turning to look at you as his head sank back against the couch. "Your mom and dad are serious about moving out here."
Your smile started to fade away. "Yeah, Roo. They are. And I thought you were pleased by that fact."
"I am." His brown eyes remained fixed on yours. "I am. I told you I was. I want them close, but not too close. Like, I don't want them next door where they can hear me call you my filthy little slut or something."
"Bradley," you said, laughing again as he took Rose in his hands to burp her.
"They don't need to know the ins and outs of how you call me Daddy while you're gagging on my cock either." He kissed the baby on her forehead. "Sorry, Nugget. I'll teach you one day how babies are made, and you'll probably cringe the whole time."
You sighed and reached for Bradley, cupping his jaw in your hand and stroking his mustache with your thumb. "My parents are seriously getting their house ready to sell. So just give it to me straight."
He nodded. "I don't want them over here all the time, okay? I love them, I really do, but they take over our house when they come. And even though we finished the attic so they could have a place to stay when they're here, Rosie can move her bedroom up there when she's older. So it wasn't a waste of time since the contractor saw your tits."
"It was a photo of my tits! I didn't just whip them out for him to see!" Now Bradley was laughing as you said, "It sounds like you're worried about having some boundaries if my parents become our new neighbors."
"Yes," he replied, nodding as you ran your fingers along his jaw. "That."
"I'm sure we can have a conversation with them and address all of your concerns." Rose seemed to be done burping, and you were treated to the view of Bradley cuddling your four month old against his chest. "Now, can you tell me what else made you have a bad day at work?"
"What makes you think I had a bad day?" he asked, placing soft kisses on Rose's cheek. "I could never have a bad day when I get to come home to my girls." You sighed as he ran his nose along her hair and inhaled deeply before he met your gaze. "Okay. It's not the end of the world, but Mav informed me that I need to take a trip to the Naval Airstation in Fort Worth. I don't really have any details yet."
"Okay," you replied softly, finally voicing what had been on your mind. "Well, maybe Rose and I can come with you for a few days? I can't remember exactly how much vacation time I have left, but it could be fun. And you did say the next trip should be for the three of us to enjoy together."
Bradley shrugged and immediately said, "Fort Worth in August? Baby Girl, it's going to be miserably hot. I know you, for some reason, miss the east coast humidity, but this is going to be gross. Ask Jake about it, he's from that ridiculous state."
You couldn't believe how quickly he shut it down. "It was just an idea," you mumbled, watching him snuggle the baby. "So you wouldn't have to miss Rose the whole time while you're away."
His head tipped back as he sighed. "I'm taking this new position so I can hopefully deploy less often and be here more later on. Even if I have to start working longer days, a week or two away from home is nothing compared to five months."
You bristled. "I understand that, Roo. We've talked about this so much. But maybe try to be a little bit more patient with the idea of my parents moving here so I can have a support system when you're busy?"
When you stood and rushed toward the bedroom, Bradley was right behind you, hand reaching out to grab your shoulder while he still held Rose tight. "Are you mad at me?"
Your stomach roiled with irritation, annoyance and disdain. You hated when you got like this, because he was the one who could bring out the best and also the worst in you. "I don't know."
-------------------------------
You were kind of quiet at home. Bradley hated it. You were a bit more vocal during sex, but that certainly didn't make him feel any better about the rest of it.
"I have my dates for Fort Worth," he informed you when he strolled in from work with some yellow flowers and a new book for Rose. Today was important to him. He wasn't sure you'd remember why, but he still wanted to acknowledge it.
"When?" you asked, continuing to make dinner while he looked around for the baby. "She's napping in her crib," you added, seemingly knowing he always wanted his daughter nearby.
"Second week of August," he replied. "So, pretty soon. But just for a week." You nodded as Bradley walked closer, and he realized what you were cooking. "Marry Me Rooster?"
"Yeah." Your voice was soft as you looked at him over your shoulder. You were also still wearing your khaki uniform, and he could tell you were tired. He was tired, too, but he wanted things to feel more natural around here again. He didn't want to accept that this was just how things would be now when the two of you were taking turns getting up with Rose all the time.
He wished he hadn't made such a fuss about your parents, because he really did love them, and it would be nice to have some help occasionally. And now he felt like you were continually annoyed with him, and he had to figure out a way to fix this.
Your voice broke into his thoughts. "It's kind of a special day?"
You sounded unsure. Like you thought maybe he didn't remember. But a smile immediately found his lips, and he gestured to the flowers. He should have known you'd remember. You remembered everything. You just made him a seafood platter to celebrate Carole's birthday the other day.
"I proposed two years ago." You visibly relaxed at his words as you took the flowers in your hands. He stroked the diamond ring on your finger as he said, "I couldn't wait another minute after I found this in the storage unit. I needed you to wear it. I needed you to say yes." You melted into his arms, and he kissed your forehead. "Can I go ahead and propose something else right now?"
You nodded and hummed, lips brushing the scars on his neck. "I'm just happy you remembered."
"Sweetheart, I remember everything," he promised. "And I propose that we plan a trip for the three of us before the year is over. We can go anywhere you and the Nugget want."
Your eyes lit up as he cupped your perfect cheek in his hand. "I have so many ideas, Roo."
"I knew you would. Can I make another proposal?" When you raised one eyebrow, he whispered, "How about we mess around before Rose wakes up?"
He was already wrapping his arms around you, turning you toward the hallway when you said, "But what about dinner?"
"We'll be fast," he replied confidently, turning off the stove burner.
"You're never fast! You like to linger!"
"It's a new era, Baby Girl. The mom and dad era. I'll learn how to be quick so we can finish before she wakes up."
This was the closest thing to a true quickie Bradley had experienced in a long time. Maybe ever. You were pushed up against the wall just inside the bedroom, belt jingling with your pants down around your thighs. He was going hard at a nice, steady pace with his hand inside your bra. Your warm milk dripped between his fingers and along his palm as he whimpered.
"Oh, I love this so much," he whined as his other fingers found your clit. "I'm not happy about making this quick. I might need more later."
He could already hear Rose getting restless in the nursery down the hallway, her soft cries ramping up as Bradley slammed his cock into his wife. He wanted to make sure he got you off before he was done, but then you went and said something so hot, he knew he wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer.
"I could always nurse you later if you want."
When he came, his vision flooded with dizzying color. Bradley lapped your milk from his hand, moaning your name as his hips eventually slowed. Rose was wailing now as you bent down to pull your pants up, cum dripping down your inner thighs as you looked at him with a little grin.
"I take it you're interested in my offer."
"Absolutely," he rasped, pulling his pants up so he could go say hi to his daughter. "If I ever say no to your tits, something is definitely wrong, Baby Girl. That would be your cue to take me out back and finish me off." You laughed when he said, "Happy engagement anniversary. I'll go take care of the Nugget."
-----------------------------
"When's the wedding?" you asked Jake as you dropped your tray next to his at lunch. He was eating the most delicious looking burger and a slice of pizza, and your soup and salad looked pitiful next to them. Seemingly no matter what you did, you'd stopped losing weight since the baby was born, and right now you were so exhausted, you couldn't even think about starting an exercise regimen.
"We've been engaged less than a month," Jake drawled, shoving some of the accompanying fries into his mouth. "Maybe some of us can wait a little longer to get hitched than your husband could, Angel." You rolled your eyes dramatically at him, but you were fighting a smile. "I'm trying my best to make sure that everything is in order for Jeremiah, if I'm being honest."
"Like what?" you asked, blowing on a spoonful of your soup.
Tears stung your eyes as you patted his cheek gently. You knew you were lucky that you and Bradley were together and that he would do anything to take care of his child, but right now you were just so happy for Jeremiah. "He's such a sweet kid, Jake. And you love him so much."
"I do," he replied before taking an enormous bite out of his burger. You let him chew in silence while you picked at your lunch. Right now, you really wished Bradley was here, but the chances of him showing up were slim when he was out shadowing Maverick again. He was leaving in a few days for Texas, and you were feeling pretty emotional. It would just be you and Rose at home for a whole week by yourselves.
"Well, if you're looking for a nice venue, I know a good parking lot."
Jake barked out a laugh. "There's too much sentimental Bradshaw bullshit in that parking lot. No way I'd be allowed to get married there."
Then Cat showed up, and Jake's attention immediately shifted to her. You poked your salad around on your plate, wondering why you were so damn tired. You still had four more hours of work to get through before you had to pick Rose up and make dinner. Maybe you could just get pizza. But you shouldn't. But it sounded so good as you watched Jake eat his. But your hips and belly were already so big, you couldn't let yourself.
Your afternoon was filled with checking code that someone in Annapolis had entered, and they'd done a really shitty job. When you left your office, your eyes were tired, and you could feel yourself caving. You ordered a pizza and picked it up on your way home with Rose. Then you ate half of it on the couch while you fed her. And when you were done, you really wanted to cry, because you didn't know why you couldn't control yourself right now.
"I'm starving," Bradley groaned when he walked in. "You got pizza?" he asked, shoving two slices stacked up on top of each other into his mouth and moaning. Then he dropped down onto the couch and polished them off while you switched Rose to your other side. "I need to remember to pack my dress blues for Fort Worth."
"Why?"
Bradley shrugged and reached for the next slice. "Apparently, there's some sort of reception for the aviators that are selected for Top Gun in the fall. I don't know how much sway I'll have, but I'm really hoping I can pick some good ones for the next generation of the program since I'm aging out."
"You're not aging out, Roo!" you gasped. "You chose a different career trajectory!"
"I mean..."
"Stop. You're not old. Don't even try to tell me you're old."
"I'll be forty soon."
"You're thirty-eight."
"That's almost forty."
"You look like a DILF."
He reached for the last slice of pizza, folded it up and ate it while he reached for Rose. Like usual, she curled up on her father. Her features looked so much like his, but he was always the first one to argue with you about that, so you said nothing while he chewed up his food.
"I need you to help me pack for hot as hell Texas. I'm thinking just shorts besides my flight suits and uniforms?"
"I'll help you as soon as Rose goes to sleep for the night."
Bradley took the reins for the rest of the evening while you tried not to fall asleep before the baby. That was much easier said than done, but at least Bradley supervised tummy time while Tramp licked Rose, and then he gave her a bath. He read bedtime stories and changed her into pajamas so you didn't have to, gently setting her in her crib before joining you where you sat in bed yawning.
"You okay?" he asked, brushing his lips along your cheek before heading to the closet to start pulling out clothes to pack.
"Yeah. I just wish I didn't order the pizza, because it's empty calories, and it probably made me feel worse and more exhausted in the long run."
"But it was delicious," he muttered, piling up some of his favorite tropical print shirts. "Be honest, how many of these do you think I'll need?"
You snorted. "Unless every night is happy hour at the Copacabana, probably none. But knowing you, I'd pack at least two."
"See, you understand," he muttered with a smile as you chose two of your favorites and handed them to him. It was strange watching him load things into a duffle bag for something other than a deployment or special mission. You knew exactly how long he'd be gone. You knew it was just for a week and that he could FaceTime you and Rose whenever he wanted to, but it still felt like you were sending him away.
"We're going to miss you."
He immediately tossed the bag onto the floor and joined you in bed. "Don't cry, Baby Girl," he whispered, swiping at tears you hadn't realized were already filling your eyes. "I'll barely be gone at all. And I don't even have to finish packing tonight. I can do it later."
You nodded and let him envelope you in his warmth. That's how you eventually fell asleep.
----------------------------------
"This sucks," Bradley said for probably the hundredth time in the past hour. Standing at the curb at San Diego International Airport with a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter, being forced to leave them for a week, was actually awful. He didn't want to go. He wanted to continue to cradle Rose against his chest with his arm wrapped around you until he missed his flight.
"You have to go now so hopefully you can do this less frequently in the future," you whispered, voice shaky with emotion. You looked really tired, and Bradley knew you wouldn't get much of a break this week. That's why he'd arranged for Nat to check on you at home a few times whether you wanted her to or not.
"Count on it, Sweetheart," he murmured, placing kisses to Rosie's soft hair as her little fingers poked at the insignia pins on his uniform. "And I need you to be a perfect Nugget for Mommy. I'll call later tonight after I get settled in the barracks."
"Okay." Your voice was muffled as you buried your face against his neck. "I love you."
"I love you both," he promised, collecting his final kisses from Rose before buckling her into her car seat in the back of the red Bronco. Then he got a particularly filthy kiss from you that left both of you grinning before you started to shove him toward the airport entrance.
"You need to go or you'll miss your flight. And then Mav will be on my case about it."
Before he ducked inside, he cupped his free hand to his mouth and shouted, "I love you!" He watched you blow him a kiss and then pull away from the curb before he headed to the counter to drop off his bag.
He hated traveling like this, in his uniform. It felt like everyone milling around, trying to check their bags, was looking at him. He was only wearing it today, because he wasn't sure what to expect when he arrived at a base he'd only visited one time years ago. The last thing he wanted was to seem unprepared in front of an admiral, so he wore his khakis as a precaution.
"Lieutenant Commander. Where are you headed?" asked the airline agent when she looked at his pins.
Impressed, he replied, "Dallas-Fort Worth."
She took his duffle, wished him a good flight, and then Bradley slept for the entire time he was in the air. Maybe you weren't the only one who was exhausted, because the nap seemed to do wonders for him. He woke up feeling rested, and just as soon as he sent a text letting you know he landed, he was off in search of a rental car.
To his absolute delight, all he had to do was ask nicely and flash his most charming smile, and he was handed the keys to a brand new, black Bronco. It was a model year newer than your red one back at home, and he was excited to scrutinize all of the little differences as he drove it around for the week.
"Don't like the lack of a car seat," he muttered, tossing his bag onto the backseat where he was so used to seeing Rose's infant carrier.
Was he really that guy? Did he already miss his kid enough that he had to open up the photo gallery in his phone and scroll through a few pictures before he could drive away? Apparently he was, and it made him ache to be away from her. This was so much worse than going to La Jolla without his daughter, because right now, he had neither of you.
When his stomach started rumbling for dinner, he drove to the barracks and showed his identification, only to be told his room wasn't ready yet. So he went right back out to the Bronco in search of dinner. He knew the name of a tavern popular with officers in the area, so he typed it into his GPS and headed in the direction it told him. He had to laugh, figuring he was about to walk into the Lone Star version of the Hard Deck, but that's kind of what he wanted right now. Dinner somewhere that felt comfortable if not familiar.
"Oof." It looked like a dump compared to his bar at home, but it seemed popular, and he was hungry enough that it didn't matter. When he walked in, he took a quick survey of the space before grabbing an empty stool at the bar. He ordered your favorite beer and a sandwich and took his phone out, careful not to set it on the bar in case the owner was part of some sort of association along with Penny.
He tried reading an article, but he felt as though he was being watched. Bradley tried to ignore it, fairly certain he didn't know anyone on base here, but the feeling nagged at him while he ate. The twang of music playing on the jukebox was distracting, but not distracting enough. When he finished his food and wiped his mouth with a napkin, he picked up his bottle and drained the rest of his beer while he glanced around.
Then he saw a young woman in a flight suit playing pool not too far from his spot at the bar. Her bright blue eyes were focused on his face, and her lips curled into a grin before she bent to sink her shot. Her patches told him she originated from Virginia Beach like he did, and that her call sign was Indigo. As Bradley turned, ready to sign his bill and leave, he saw her approach out of the corner of his eye.
"Can I help you?" he asked, turning her way again with one eyebrow raised. She was attractive, even up close, and he remained silent while her gaze traveled from his face down to his chest where his name tag was displayed. Then she gasped in delight.
"Lieutenant Commander Bradshaw," she said, eyes snapping back up to meet his. "All the way from Top Gun. I've been waiting to meet you for weeks, Sir."

Wish I had a pretty little thing to drug long term.
It starts with me offering to do the cooking because they are so busy with work or college, or both, and it's nice coming back to a fresh warm meal isn't it?
And you really have been so much more tired lately. Foggy too.... but don't worry I made a nice hearty soup that should have you feeling better in no time so just relax and eat up.
You're even more tired today? It must be because you you are working so much! You go lay in bed and let me grab you something to drink. You need to say hydrated after all.
You really aren't feeling better yet? That's odd, it's a good thing I called you out sick then. No don't worry about that, you need to focus on feeling better. Now just enjoy you're dinner and don't forget to take all those vitamins I got you.
A doctor? No you are way to loopy to even make it to the doctors. Why don't you just tell me what you are feeling. Some of its embarrassing? If I am going to help I need to know everything you are feeling. Oh, no don't be embarrassed, I can definitely help with that.
Bad news, it looks like you where out sick to much. I know it's sad, I know, but don't worry! I found the perfect job for you to do instead. Now why don't we get you out of those clothes so we can get some good pictures for your new fans.
How many days has it been? Don't worry about that. No you just need a little more rest, I'm sure if it, and you've got me to take care of you! So just lay back and relax and open wide for me.

Hello :)
I was wondering if you'd be willing to write a reader x Sanji fic where reader is homesick and wants their parents' cooking. Sanji tries to re-create the dish based on reader's description, but after many attempts, is struck with horror when he finally realizes what reader wants is low-key an abomination. Something like ketchup, milk, and parsley being reader's idea of tomato bisque or something else wild
This was so fun to write! Ty!
~ A Taste Of Home ~
PAIRING: Fem!Reader/Sanji
CONTENTS: 🩷 - fluff
WORDCOUNT: 700
Request status: Open (PLS)
The Merry’s kitchen was warm, the scent of sautéed onions and garlic filling the air as Sanji worked his magic. But tonight, his usual confidence was laced with determination and just a hint of worry. Across the room, you sat at the table, your chin resting on your hand, eyes glassy with the haze of homesickness.
“I can’t believe I miss it so much,” you murmured. “My mom used to make it whenever I felt sick or sad. It’s the ultimate comfort food.”
Sanji, always the gentleman, turned toward you with a reassuring smile. “Anything for you, love. Just tell me what it is, and I’ll whip it up perfectly.”
You hesitated, a faint blush dusting your cheeks. “It’s kind of...simple. Tomato bisque. But the way my mom made it is...different.”
His brow furrowed with intrigue. “Different, how?”
“Well...” You wrinkled your nose, trying to recall the details. “It’s kind of creamy, but not too heavy. There’s this tangy sweetness, you know? And a little kick of something fresh, like parsley. Oh! And she’d always stir in milk instead of cream to make it lighter.”
Sanji nodded, pulling out his notebook. “Creamy, tangy, sweet, fresh, and light. Got it. Anything else?”
You brightened. “She always swore by ketchup. Said it was the secret ingredient!”
The pen in Sanji’s hand froze mid-word. “...Ketchup?”
“Yeah!” you said with a nostalgic sigh. “It’s what makes it so...unique.”
A bead of sweat formed on Sanji’s temple, but he quickly composed himself. “Alright, no problem. I’ll have it ready before you can say ‘ketchup bisque.’”
Attempt #1: Sanji’s first creation was a masterpiece of refined French cuisine—silky tomato bisque with fresh cream, a hint of basil, and homemade croutons.
You took one sip, your face falling instantly. “This is...too good.”
“Too good?” Sanji echoed, his cigarette nearly falling from his lips.
“It’s just not...homey enough.”
Attempt #4: He swapped out the cream for milk, begrudgingly added a dab of ketchup, and toned down the herbs.
You tilted your head after a taste. “Closer, but still not right.”
Attempt #9: The pot on the stove bubbled ominously. Sanji had gone through three bottles of ketchup, two gallons of milk, and his last shred of sanity. He tasted the concoction, his face twisting into something between despair and betrayal.
“This...isn’t food,” he muttered to himself.
When you entered the kitchen, he froze, a guilty look on his face.
“Is it done?” you asked hopefully.
Sanji hesitated, then sighed. “Darling...I think I need to know something. Did your mother hate chefs?”
You frowned. “What? No! Why would you say that?”
He gestured at the pot, his voice cracking. “Because this—this monstrosity—isn’t bisque! It’s ketchup soup! It’s milk and parsley and pain!”
You blinked, then burst out laughing. “Oh my gosh, Sanji! I told you it was weird! That’s why it’s comfort food—it’s bad but in the best way!”
He stared at you, a mix of disbelief and exasperation on his face. “You could’ve led with that.”
The Final Bowl: Despite his culinary pride, Sanji made one last attempt, embracing the chaos of your childhood recipe. When he set the bowl in front of you, it looked just like you remembered—simple, strange, and oddly inviting.
You took a sip and lit up immediately. “This is perfect!”
Sanji watched you with a mix of horror and adoration. “I’ve never been so ashamed of something I’ve cooked...but if it makes you happy, I’ll take it.”
You grinned, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand. “Thanks, Sanji. You’ve got a knack for making people feel at home—even if home tastes like ketchup and milk.”
He groaned but couldn’t hide the smile tugging at his lips. “Anything for you, love. Just...please don’t tell Zoro about this.”

Here 2. Episode i choise the name story's child of crime alley Please leave your thoughts in the comments
When Jason left the house, his plan was to check if everything was okay in the Alley and then eat dinner. But his plan was completely forgotten when he saw a bird. His first thought was "Does this bird ever eat*? Then he thought angrily why is he here again. He grabbed him by the neck. He froze with the tingling he felt when his hand touched his neck, he thought in shock, was it him from the beginning? His next thought was very light. His eyebrows were furrowed. Wasn't he almost 17? How is he so young* he thought, for the next few minutes of conversation his only thought was to punch Bruce in the face until his teeth broke. He's going to eat, then I'll make sure he eats properly, he thought. He took him to his own house. He carried him easily.
****
Tim was angry when they entered the house. He didn't like people touching him. He wasn't used to it. Usually the only contact he had was during fights outside of his team. There was a strange feeling on the back of his neck. When Jason let him go he rubbed the back of his neck. He looked at Jason "What the hell do you want!" he said angrily. Jason said "Sit down" when he went to the kitchen. Tim crossed his arms and looked at him. Jason started getting ingredients for pancakes. Tim said "What do you want from me hood". Jason said, “You know I have a name, right?” Tim said, “Oh, really? Just like I have a name?” Jason flinched, but changed the subject. “You said you were going to eat. When was the last time you even ate?” Tim tilted his head thoughtfully. “I ate when I went to help at the soup kitchen before going to bed. The new stock of supplies was coming in.” Jason asked, “And when was that?” Tim tilted his head thoughtfully. “Around 12-1 in the afternoon,” he said. Jason asked, “Why didn’t you sleep last night?” Tim sighed. He wondered why he was asking so many questions. Then he said, “I work. I go straight to work after patrol, and when I get off, I sleep.” Jason’s eyebrows rose slightly. But he didn’t comment. Warning bells were going off in his head. Tim’s body had relaxed a little. Jason had started preparing the pancake batter, watching him from time to time. “Would you like to take a shower before dinner? I can get you some clothes,” he said. Tim blinked. He usually did this in the cave. Tim finally nodded and went into the bathroom. Jason had looked after him *I wonder if he noticed* he thought as he looked at his palm.
***
When Tim got out of the bathroom, clean clothes were on the bed. The hoodie was big and thick *warm* he thought. It was six. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed. *I washed the clothes at the mansion yesterday, I'll give them back when I get them* he thought. He didn't want to get someone's clothes dirty. When he left the room, he turned towards the smell of food. Jason had prepared the pancakes. He was washing his hands when he heard footsteps "Hey bird, dinner is ready. Are the clothes ready?" he said. Tim blinked *bird? This is new" he thought. Then he said "yes thanks hood. The bottom is perfect. The top is comfortable". Jason asked "That's good. What time is your patrol?" Tim took out his phone and looked at it "In 2 hours. But before that I'll be in the cave working on a case" he said. Jason said "I understand" he put a stack of pancakes in front of him. Tim blinked. "Eat as much as you want. I put too much stuff in," Jason said as he put a plate in front of himself and started eating.

i am. so excited to watch qfit's descent into his old ways. most of all, i'm excited to see what his reaction to seeing pac on the battlefield will be. like, what are you going to do. you swore to protect this guy. will you kill him even if he screams and begs you you not to? would you kill the person you promised to keep safe? what are you going to do when the person you trust the most is cowering in front of you, just as terrified of you as he is of the person you swore to protect him from?

I love characters who are flawed and have trauma and make terrible choices based on that trauma. I really do.
I'm saying this because while I've never been a huge sonic fan, I fucking love shadow. I have been all over shadows part in sonic x shadow generations. I am so hype for sonic 3, you don't understand and I did not watch the first 2 movies. I was only interested in shadow. Was.
See, I ship sonadow/shadonic and with the new movie reigniting my interest, I have been reading sonic fanfiction again. With fanfiction comes a need for context. With context comes the understanding that sonics life is so fucked up. Like, I kept seeing christmas island being used as sonics birth place and I looked it up and that's canon. Cool, he came from a place with snow and stuff. Guess who just found out it's named after the real life Christmas island, the island that the US used for nuclear testing back in the 50s without evacuating the nearby town (which there is another government run experiment on the moon in the 50s in canon. Im just saying, theres something we play with there) . And that's just side stuff, there's so much in the games and comics that's just messed up. My guy was stuck in a torture egg for 6 months in forces, and lost his memories but had to keep going in frontier.
I'm just saying this bad boy (smacks a hedgehog obsessed with chili dogs, a struggle food, yes I am reaching based on my own experience and will continue to do so) can hold so much trauma.
I will be overthinking this to make aus at work.

Ok so I have a few suggestions but for the sake of space those will be under the cut
Putting it shortly I’d recommend Scar or Doc possibly Ren.
As a season seven sucker I’d normally recommend Scar due his role as the mayor of the shopping district and head of Hep in that season, plus the whole mycelium resistance thing cast him as the villain when looking from the resistance side.
But sense you’ve already got him as a character you could go for Ren he just had an arch as an evil king last season and he did great. He’s a theatre kid at heart and ended up playing king who slowly gets corrupted by greed and turns evil alarmingly well.
But out of all the suggestions I could give I’d recommend Doc. He’s basically the resident supervillain on the server anyway and he ends up as the “Bad guy” in almost every arch he’s in.
I mean just of the top of my head theirs season six’s arch when he was the evil government scientist fighting the hippies from his Area 51 knock off. Season nine where he fought the buttercups a different hippie group. And you could possibly count season six’s prank war but that’s a complicated mess that really depends on who you have as your main pov’s.
Outside of that he’s know for breaking the game, has but multiple world eaters (complex redstone devices that can essentially delete entire contents), he managed to do some insane nonsense to get the ender dragon as a pet, and he’s so rich he uses diamond ore as redstone scaffolding.
As for references if you want to go with Scar I’d recommend either his or Grians povs for the resistance arch it’s a lot of fun and has great story potential. But if for one reason or another you can’t watch it all then you can use the wiki’s article on it. It’s pretty well written and has all the major information.
For Ren I don’t have much, his arch had so many groups going on with the two separate rebel groups, the kings court, and whatever Grian was doing. Im going to tentatively suggest that you go with Impulse as that gives you a direct look at the soup group who I believe are the ones that actually overthrew him. then I’d say you should probably watch at least a couple of his videos to get a sense of his slow corruption.
If you end up going this route I’d suggest watching Rens third life series as he plays the Red king there which is a much more intimidating version of him as a king, plus a lot a lot of fics in the Hermitcraft sphere have some form of the life series in them due to just how popular and groundbreaking they are.
Now if your going for Doc then then there’s not much I can help on that point as his vids are always very long and there can be a lot of complex redstone stuff I don’t get but both the buttercup and area 77 arch’s are a good start.
Here are some links to help:
Hope this helps good luck! I’m really excited to see what you come up with and I’d love it if you were to let me know when the first chapter gets posted! :D
I'm fairly new to hermitcraft, and I'm attempting to write a fic, but I need a "big bad" so to speak, or at least a figurehead of one. Which hermit would be best to cast as said big bad?
I've already got Etho, Joel, Grian, Mumbo Jumbo, Pearl, ZombieCleo, GeminiTay, and GoodTimesWithScar cast, as well as LDShadowlady and Scott Smajor even though they aren't hermits.
The bad guy is supposed to be a metaphor for capitalism.
Suggestions are appreciated! And please point me to your favorite vids or vods from hermits you suggest! Thank you!

Im in love with the implications of tape 1 of Roier's lore because he either:
1) Was legitimately turned into a rat by the federation, which, beyond the goofy fucking model, is genuinely frightening body horror that I think roier (the guy not the cubito) has the full capacity to explore knowing his rp abilities.
or
2) He was hallucinating getting turned into a rat because of all the drugs he the feds are pumping him with. This comes with the extra terrifying implication that the feds ARE actually experimenting on him, but what they're actually doing to him is being obscured by the effects of the drugs.
Either way it's fucking horrific and I love it. I can't wait to see what he has planned next.

So what’re your favourite tnmn ships?
Thank you for the ask! Here are some of the ships I like most, each character within the parentheses is a different ship option I like for the first one:
Steven x (Francis/Elenois/Nacha/Angus)
Francis x (Steven/Nacha/Izaack/Angus)
Nacha x (Francis/Steven/Angus)
(worth noting that all of the Angus ships cited above are one sided from his end in my HCs, but I could see some of them working as a mutual thing in some scenarios as well)
Teutates x (Yog/Lilith/both)
Anazareth x (Yan Luo/Barbatos)

I'm starting Mission to Zyxx Season 5 now, and I have feelings about that.
First, it generally scares me when people hype anything up at all because there is no guarantee that anyone values the exact same thing I do to the same degree. Even if I trust the creators of a thing to value something and try to do right by it, that doesn't always necessarily mean it will be successful, especially if that involves doing something wildly different than what made it good in the first place (I have been burned this way before). I guess I'm just hoping they continue the format of goofy improv shenanigans for the majority of it with something more planned and emotional in the finale if they want, like they've been doing all along. I'd think they would, and I've heard nothing bad about the ending, but I guess it still makes me nervous because I'm so close to the end and I want it so badly to stick the landing. I'm setting my expectations on the floor so I can be surprised instead of disappointed, but honestly, I don't need it to be better, I just need it to be on par with the rest.
Second, and more briefly, I'm happy it's (hopefully) ending before it has a chance to decline. I am so on board with that philosophy. But on the other hand, finishing a thing that I really, really like and knowing there's not another one out there gives me a special kind of heartache. Like, I know there will be other good media, and stuff that's good and unique in other ways, but I know for a fact that there are no other podcasts out there that have the same mix of a balance of off-the-wall improv and structured narrative, quality comedy, fantastical sci-fi setting and loveable characters, and high quality production. There are other things out there with many of those qualities, but nothing that checks every one of those boxes. It's a lightning-in-a-bottle thing that very much feels like the right people had to be in the right place at the right time to do it. Attempts to do it again would feel hollow because it had to be born out of necessity and passion and the talents of the people involved, so if you switch out the people it loses the reasons it's great, and if the same people tried to do it again it'd feel tired. That makes me so, so grateful it exists, but also so, so sad that it doesn't, and I'm 80% of the way done. When it's over, it's over.
Anyway. Now that that's all out there, I'm just gonna finish listening and have fun. Wish me luck.
#pickle pontificates#mission to zyxx#if you freaking flip on episode 1 after reading this and are like. wow. they're talking a lot about butts and ejecting people into space.#what is pickle on about#well. sue me i guess. idk#I have a lot of feelings about this as a general topic so this is moreso just the most recent thing that's touched on it for me#okay so time for essay 2 in the tags#1. I don't really talk about TAZ on here but it's something I carry with me whenever I think about this kind of thing#I think that in the same vein as MTZ it started off very goofy and directionless and then gave me more emotions than I thought it would#and it's not perfect but balance was a cultural landmark in a lot of ways#i enjoyed amnesty but it didn't have the same spark. what drew me to balance was all the goofy improvisation#and the fact that it was never serious until it was#amnesty (although i loved the setting/concept and enjoyed the characters) crossed the line into taking things more seriously#and while that's not a bad thing in and of itself the thing i enjoy about the mcelroys is when they're goofing around#that's what they're good at and it's why i like them#subsequent arcs suffered the same thing to varying degrees#i slogged through most of graduation for some reason and although ethersea was better i didn't finish it#taz dracula was the first time i've felt that same kind of fun while listening since balance#and I really think it was because they were just getting silly with it. sure yeah elizabeth the sports druid. lady godwin turns into a hors#whatever!#their dad gets to follow through on his ideas and do whatever crazy but kinda logical thing he comes up with#but i guess the point is that to me taz feels very lightning in a bottle. balance is what it's capable of being but is not the default#all the other right ingredients had to be in the soup#2. noragami. ohh noragami.#you wormed your way deep into my heart and then flopped out of it like a messy slimy dead fish#and i can't even be upset about it because the creators sounded so tired and unhappy with the way it ended#but there was so much potential. so many themes that DID hit hard throughout the story and could've knocked a man out cold#had they come back at the end#and they could have right up until so very close!!! it wasn't unsalvageable#in fact it still isn't. you'd hardly have to revise anything. you'd just have to write a different ending

if you're not fussy about texture but like a good taste, I find that you can skip milk/shortener/etc entirely and just use flour, eggs, water and a little extra sugar to accomodate the lack of sweetness from the milk. I know I don't really notice a difference.
Also if you want a really easy gluten free dessert recipe that I use often - amaranth flour, egg, sugar, water, whatever spices you like in your sweets (vanilla extract is my only certain one here). Mix them up, taste the batter to be sure it's sweet enough, and then just put it in the microwave for 2-4 minutes (however long it takes to be 'done' if you stick a fork in it). Sometimes I make a sauce to top it with by just mixing sugar and hot water and pour that over it, but it's pretty good on its own. Amaranth flour has a kind of nutty taste and it comes out richer in flavor than it sounds.
I've done this with almond extract, with rose water and pistachios, with anise extract, and with pumpkin spice, and also if i remember right once i did it with hot pepper flakes and cocoa powder but i might've added more ingredients to that one. Wasn't nearly as good when I mixed any all purpose flour or rice flour in, it's best to just use plain amaranth flour. This is good if you want a sweet treat really badly and don't have the time, energy, patience, etc to make something "real".
you can also make rice pudding with coconut milk instead of dairy milk, it's not the kind of pudding where it changes the recipe significantly
also you can make mulled fruits (pears, oranges, apples, strawberries if you're bold, etc) by poaching certain fruits in a mixture of spices, wine/cider/etc, and sugar, which are also a good treat and have the additional benefit of being pretty unlike any other desserts people recommen and (most likely) not something you remember from your childhood... god knows sometimes the gluten free or dairy free versions of something you've had before in an unadjusted recipe are a ridiculous letdown and it helps me to broaden my horizons and eat things i've never had before instead. (I do enjoy my mulled fruit with ice cream b/c i'm not dairy free these days, but it's probably good with any rich flavors. goes nicely with some savory dishes too, i still dream about a very expensive tiny little cut of lamb with mulled pear sauce i had once years ago and plan on indulging in again as soon as i can make sure someone else pays for it lol)
finally - if you really step outside your usual wheelhouse (I have recently) acorn squash of all the things can be roasted into almost caramel sweetness in the oven, and then turned into soup. My acorn squash soup is a savory dish, but the more i make it (i have so far made a variant of the same soup six times in the last two months, it's delicious and easy if a ltitle time consuming), the more I think about how good it would be if instead of mixing it with chicken broth and hot peppers and garlic and also as many cloves nutmeg ginger cinnamon etc as i can fit in there, i put in some vanilla extract and my usual dessert spices and a bunch of marshmallow and some brown sugar and maple syrup as was suggested in the recipe i didn't follow for the first time i made the soup because it was so sweet without it that i was kind of flabbergasted... basically doing some sort of marshmallow sweet potato soup with it.
☝️ This may not be a universal experience. I've never had acorn squash before this year and this year I had it because I signed up for a local farmshare to force myself to eat some vegetables that weren't onions or grocery store arugula for the first time in half a decade. from what i have both heard and tasted myself, farm produce and grocery store produce vary, sometimes very little and sometimes huge amounts, in terms of taste and especially in terms of sweetness. Your mileage may vary.
This recipe is what i *very very loosely* cribbed my method from, but tbh i didn't use any of the recommended ingredients besides the roast garlic because i didn't have any of them in the house and i don't like to add cream to my dishes (it doesn't need coconut milk or heavy cream - the texture is very smooth on its own!) and instead of topping it with roasted seeds - side note, if you like pumpkin seeds, save the seeds from the squash and soak them in salt water for about an hour (the amount of time it takes to roast the squash), put them on a baking sheet, spritz some oil if you want but its not necessary, dust with spices or lemon juice if you want but again unnecessary, and roast for 20-30 minutes at 300F & you now have basically roast pumpkin seeds for basically free just by having the acorn squash. ive been eating a lot of squash seeds and saving lots of money on bags of chips - i put bacon on it the first time and the second time i just had it plain. its good plain. its good as fuck. im kind of obsessed with this squash and the soup. i eat my dinner and it feels like dessert.
generally i am a big kitchen experimentalist because i hate to follow recipes and i hate to buy ingredients. but truth be told, my experience is also that - having restrictive diets and such that gluten allergies do to you, not even counting dairy - the best way to get desserts that actually taste good to me and also don't cost an arm and a leg is just to fuck around with the basics of decent desserts, like spices you like and sweeteners you like and flours you like and stuff - and just keep adding new elements until you've found dishes that work for you. Most of mine are really lightweight easy things that cook quickly or without a lot of additional work, but i also spend a lot of time making burnt sugar, caramel or toffee because i like sugar a lot and it's cheap and easy and it tastes good. if you like recipes it's probably not easier but i don't like recipes and it's miles easier for me to freestyle my way into accidental glory.
oh one last one! another relatively unusual one, cook rice noodles in coconut water and sugar for Dessert Soup, especially with chopped fruits and nuts and spices in there. and a splash of red wine for body. the red wine is optional but i think it improves it a lot personally
I see you know about gluten free desserts, do you have any good dairy (milk specifically) free cookie recipes? Specifically chocolate chip? (any other desert is alright too... I just miss deserts)
So you can make the tollhouse chocolate chip cookie recipe (just search "tollhouse chocolate chip cookie recipe", it's the one ontheback of the bag) with vegetable shortening instead of butter and you can use Njoy chocolate chips and you should have a tasty, crispy, dairy-free chocolate chip cookie.
Also look up 3-ingredient peanut butter cookies, the only ingredients are eggs, peanut butter, and sugar.
You can also make pie pastry with shortening and then make a berry or cherry filling with fruit, water, sugar, lemon juice, and starch for a fully vegan dessert.
And for something different, look up how to make mango sticky rice, which is a Thai dessert made with rice, coconut milk, sugar, and mango.
