i just want to say THANK GOODNESS I STUMBLED ACROSS DETOURS!!! the moment i skimmed the summary, i was like “HELL YEA!!!!”

the characterization is pretty on point, especially since you’re building this off their game counterparts (cynthia being regal, palmer being scary, mary being just like barry). i love it sooo much because i honestly can see them like that too!

your world-building is spot on as well! the way you seamlessly meshed sinnoh and hisui and going into the details that pokemon never does is so *chef’s kiss*. like the battle between ingo and volkner yooooo

idk if you’ve ever read “locked away” by n-i-n-t, but it’s basically playing off of the theory that ash has been in a coma, that’s why he never aged. so the anime world is basically all made up, and the “real” pokemon world functions like if our world has pokemon in it. haha idk if that makes sense, but it’s probably one of the best fics i’ve read in my life, and yours feels like it, but for the gameverse instead in the way you two built your worlds. ALSO THE AMOUNT OF (overlooked) CHARACTERS YAS 👏

I'm so glad you like it! The worldbuilding is one of my fav parts tbh. The pokemon world is really interesting, and the world is kind of your oyster trying to fit as much as you can into something that makes sense both to some degree logically and to what is actually established in text.

Huh, I've never heard of that fic! It's interesting that it's a coma fic but, like, pokemon still exist. A unique take! Idk if I'll get around to reading tho, it's, uh, hoo boy that's a lotta words.

Anyway, random world building thing i don't think got across and I'll probably say again at some point (I think I said it on here before that that was a minute ago) - In Detours, 'Nurse Joy' is the title given to the person in charge of a PokeCenter! It's supposed to give a sense of good-will and trustworthiness.
