Now that Johnny has said his play is the coolest thing he’s ever done, I’m surprised no one will accuse him of not respecting the romance genre enough. Ofcourse all those RJP haters won’t but I genuinely feel like many kathony stans are worried & insecure abt S2 being as successful as S1. Bc while I bet Kate & Anthony will be loved once the season comes out, currently RJP was the biggest reason for Bridgerton success. Plus Julie Andrews voicing LW. Like the show became synonymous with the Duke. When they found out he wouldn’t come back, even Jon Oliver mentioned it. Pple need to wait till S2 comes out before making all their doomsday predictions. I’m sure the show will hv good ratings.

Dude, I just think people need to chill the fuck ooooout on alll of these actors. They’re all doing their jobs; they’re all looking out for their own careers; and that’s all they need to do. They don’t need to have a deep and passionate love for Bridgerton. They don’t have to turn down magazine covers…. Like I guess the flavor of the week is saying that Nicola is a bad person because she promotes herself? I mean, I find her irritating and the deuxmoi thing was shitty, but I can’t blame her for taking opportunities when they present themselves and she ultimately has zero real control over how Netflix and production choose to craft and promote the season lmao. It’s the fixation on the actors for me, when the reality is that all of these angles are coming from upper management. Take it up with Shondaland and Netflix lmao, it’s not like Nicola could tell Glamour that they should really call Simone.

As I said before, I think a lot of the histrionics have to do with people developing parasocial relationships with the show and their ships, you know? They want Kate and Anthony to ~win so hard that they’re kind of ruining it for themselves. And do I think that some people don’t actually give a shit about the fact that Simone is being treated unfairly and are using that argument to justify their complaints about the lack of Kathony? Yeah. Because it makes no sense to say that Simone being sidelined is problematic, and in the next sentence complain about how RJP wasn’t kissing the ground enough in thanks for the opportunity he was given.
