Actually, can we talk about the fact that Connor always has that point of view, no matter if you took compassionate choices or not? And there’s not a single option to agree with Hank?
Like, can we talk about how we can force Connor to spare almost every deviant suspect and yet he still talks like they've got no business existing and he'll have them destroyed?
I get that Connor's character has a default personality and thoughts of his own. But the prelude to his deviant arc feels pointless when he'll never soften up to deviants and remains stagnant in his hatred until the last possible minute before he has to make a choice in Crossroads. Software instability appears to be simply a gaming feature to unlock that one major choice in Crossroads, but software instability doesn’t actually shift Connor's stance towards deviants. Then what's the point of it, narratively? Why give us the option to pursue deviant choices if Connor privately thinks everyone we've been sparing should die.
when hank goes “they are not people? that’s what we say every time we want to oppress someone” after connor says that the deviants aren’t people but defective machines, that’s when i knew he was one of my favourite characters ever
#dbh#dbh meta#connor rk800#hank anderson#chapter last chance connor doesn’t make any sense imo#not just because of connor's linear dialogue contradicting your choices#but also the fact that connor knows jericho exists out of nowhere#oh and we never solved connor's case even if we gathered every possible clue#oh and the side mystery about rA9 lead us to nothing and exists just for the lulz#like… no matter if you took the machine route or deviant route your investigation will always fail!#the writing of this chapter is plain horrible#and i never thought i'd say this#but the plot holes in last chance connor are topping those of cyberlife hq#detroit become human
