Propaganda under readmore:
At the end of Young Sheldon, his character displays grief in such a moving and honest way that I don't think you really ever see that often. At least, not in a way one would expect from a show like Young Sheldon. On the outside he appears cold and unmoved by the death of his father, but in actuality he keeps repeating the last time he saw him in his head over and over. Thinking of the many different things he could have said or done before he left his life forever. Should he have said bye? Should he have said I love you? He uses Star Trek to help cope, but that makes him come off as inconsiderate too. He starts to realize how much he underappreciated his dad, and wants to say something at his funeral. But he says nothing. He regrets not saying anything then, and he regrets never saying when he was alive. Sheldon never cries about his father's death once, but you can still see the pain and utter despair in his face.
(the rest is copied from my old propaganda cuz I was proud of it lol) HEAR ME OUT. We can FIX HIM! (not the autism btw. That's his best feature) He is still an innocent kid! A kid who has yet to learn to be a bigoted and prejudiced asshole. A kid who is mocked and bullied for the sin of being kinda annoying and hard to understand. A kid who is growing up in a toxic environment that encourages him to change for the worse.
If he gets adopted, he could be given the kind of support and understanding that he never had. He could be taught how to respect others and why that's important.
Sheldon Cooper at his finest is a smart, silly, and quirky little guy. And even with his flaws, just imagine the power the family could gain from this kid. Imagine the hijinks that he could get into with everyone! Just, Bazinga-ing all over the place. It's a silly and fun picture!
And if you don't like that, imagine different characters studying him to see what his deal is. Or different characters trying to fix him to varying degrees of success.
Please adopt the young Sheldon Cooper! He's autistic, has OCD, hoarding behaviors, and is asexual and arospec (if not aroace), and maybe more that I forgot! (*got the ocd/hoarding from his adult version, but I don't think it's a big stretch to apply to the kid him, or at least whatever he grows up to be)
Anyway, PLEASE LET SHELDON COOPER IN THE FOUND FAMILY! We can still save him from the adult he is yet to become!!!

Sexiest Podcast Character 2024 â Scripted Redemption Bracket â Round 5
Propaganda
Madge Stallion (Fawx & Stallion) (Boba Count: 2):
This is the woman who always has anything you might need in her bustle. Portable phonographs, certainly, but what else? Alcohol, without doubt. Knives? Probably. More knives? Wouldn't be surprised. Candy? Always good to have something to mollify Hampton with. More alcohol? Well, James can always do with a little nip. Another knife? Why not? Lockpick set? I mean, where do you keep yours?
Everyone messaging us âplease let Madge kiss [redacted]â we will remember your support during this difficult time should this go our way
But MADGE NEEDS TO WIN THIS ONE, JUST LOOK AT THE PROPAGANDA MAN
Antigone Funn (Wooden Overcoats) (Boba Count: 2):
What on earth could possibly be sexier than being presumed dead by the village she lives in at large. She genuinely cares about funerals as an art form, she puts so much care into her work. Possibly bisexual if that helps. Ghost wrote a wildly popular erotic novel with the help of villageâs reverend. Come on just please vote for Antigone Iâm so very sleepy and I canât think of more reasons but I promise theyâre there
Antigone's mess might be an acquired taste, but I think it's a deeply attractive mess.
SHE WAS IN LOVE WITH A BLOND GUY ONCE SHE EARNED HER REST
Art of Antigone Funn with thanks to @acornzest.
Additional propaganda below the cut:
Madge Stallion (Fawx & Stallion):
Madge Stallion was submitted without propaganda.
we gotta get our girl some propaganda. she would hate it, but the mystery of it all is kinda part of the appeal here.
Madge stallion NEEDS no propaganda
Madge: so sexy she needs no propaganda
#madge stallion is a great woman to lose to
#Madge she's a sassy lesbian detective what else do you want
#madge stallion needs no propaganda #by virtue of being madge
This is propaganda for all the female characters. Voters please remember how pretty all women are and factor that into every single vote you make. Thank you.
Raging lesbian in a lavender marriage
Seduced someone working for the enemy
Is just as chaotic and at time brain cell-less as her male companions
Loyal but still willing to call her friend since childhood out on his bullshit
She canonically fucks. Like in canon she fucks so much. See above about seducing the enemy and then pepper in her on again off again romance with Martha Hudson.
#madge propaganda time : #she will flirt with basically any girl she sees and oh she does it so well #also !!! she once flirted and got on with technically an enemy in the middle of a spying mission ???? #she went like 'oh sorry just gotta go to the loo' to go spy in the house got caught and flirted so well she 1/ got laid 2/ got information #3/ came back like nothing happened #with some motivation she could flirt and get a boner from a dead rock tbh #madge stallion IS THE SEXIEST
#it's that time again #madge madge madge #she's earned it
#!!!!!
#home stretch
MADGE MADGE MADGEEEEE
Madge propaganda from a show that had the pleasure of guesting with her! At the end of the day no matter how you squeeze or present it, a great character is a great character and Madge is the best by a mile. Wonderful one-liners, complex and layered relationships with everyone in the cast around her, a messy and real depiction of female sexuality (especially a lesbian!) that she is never punished or demeaned for, and all of this brought to life in a performance that could make a phone book fun. Look and youâll see: Madgeâs writing and acting speaks for itself!
#madge here #yes you have to choose #choosemadge #we need the points #much appreciated #very sincerely yours
Antigone Funn (Wooden Overcoats):
Amazing character arc/growth; shadows follow her around; afraid of the sun; methanol is her drink of choice; is often told âI thought you were dead despite a complete lack of evidence other than her deathly paleness; the morgue is her personal sanctuary; absolutely hilarious character; demanded to be co-owner of Funn Funerals with her brother rather than allowing him to continue running the business alone;(spoiler) decided NOT to get with her frenemy who she had been doing a will-they-wonât-they thing with the entire series!; writes smut in her free time
#antigone!!!!!!!!! #i just need one chance with her #she's perfect
#antigone!!!!!
*Cracks knuckles* Team Antigone is back and ready to do some damage. #antigone sweep year 2
#YEAR TWOOO
#Antigone sweep #!!!!
#thrilled to participate as always
This is propaganda for all the female characters. Voters please remember how pretty all women are and factor that into every single vote you make. Thank you.
VOTE FOR ANTIGONE!!!
What on earth could possibly be sexier than being presumed dead by the village she lives in at large. She genuinely cares about funerals as an art form, she puts so much care into her work. Possibly bisexual if that helps. Ghost wrote a wildly popular erotic novel with the help of villageâs reverend. Come on just please vote for Antigone Iâm so very sleepy and I canât think of more reasons but I promise theyâre there
EVERYONE VOTE ANTIGONE FUNN PLS
I'm voting for Antigone not because she's sexier (she is) but because she needs at least One Win in her life. #girl failure solidarity
1. she is very sexy. We know she's deathly pale, she's described as transparent more than once as well as green and blue-skinned, she's 35~38 depending on what season you're listening to. She's allergic to like everything.
Her hair is canonically always a mess and she uses it to hold on to bones and things she's gonna need later. She wears the same dress every day (it has a hole in it)
She's one with the shadows and can blend in with her surroundings to a supernatural degree.
2. She is rough and socially inept and artistic and the most passionate person you can imagine. She puts her heart and soul into her work as a mortician, SHE CREATES PERSONALIZED EMBALMING FLUIDS TO MAKE THE CORPSES SMELL NICE and she WILL tell you about it.
She is somehow always angry or flustered about something and she will pull victorian era phrases you cannot imagine. She's been saying Christ Alive since before it was cool.
3. SHE LOVES SEXY THINGS!! she is the most fitting for this tournament cause she's the queen of learning to accept her desires!! She loves old french films and their weirdly shot sex scenes, she's canonically really good at writing erotica and likes to read it too. There's a whole episode dedicated to her conquering her fears and appearing on a naked calendar. Also we hear glimpses of her fantasies and she wants to tie up and dom the guy she likes so there's that too I guess.
She spent 17 years locked in her mortuary cause she was sad. SHE WANTED TO BECOME A CLOWN AS A KID. She is everything to me and I love juno very much but she is sexier and deserves to be known that way. VOTE ANTIGONE

youâre so right about people not knowing how to handle conflict and i wish they did, people act like collins can do no wrong but if they could see past that there are some really interesting conversations to be had about this book and what does or doesnât work from a literary perspective. but they arenât willing to hear it out in a mature and respectful manner.
anyways what i wanted to say and get your opinion on is that i get collins maybe wanting to make a point about how long rebellion takes and how much trial and error there is but i kind of hate that it came at the cost of haymitchâs story from catching fire, like there are so many other ways to write about themes of propaganda i hate that we had to take a story with really interesting and impactful messages about rebellion and the cruelties of the capitol and say it was actually all propaganda, it doesnât make sense to me.
haymitch not purposely acting as a part of the rebellion but rather just trying to survive (like katniss and peeta with the berries) makes for such a compelling message too. like i think him outsmarting the capitol using his own intellect rather than because he was following instructions from the rebellion and thus the captiol punishing a kid who wasnât trying to dismantle them but was just trying to survive and make it back home alive hits so hard why erase that? she couldâve conveyed these themes with a different characters story, why assassinate haymitch like that? i also think thereâs something powerful in his catching fire story about how him and maysilee broke the alliance but he still went after her without obligation.
iâm convinced that what we see in catching fire was what she originally intended his story to be and that she came up with the events of this book much later. it just frustrates me that she wrote haymitchâs story with such compelling ideas and messages only to then with this book say the capitol made that all up. like haymitch has always been my favorite character and while i hate that she took away his intellect and edge i actually hate that she took away all the meaning behind how his story in catching fire played out more.
Alright I will go into the propaganda aspect and why none of it works. Letâs start with Haymitch in Catching Fire: everything that we learn about him and the 50th games seems believable to how Haymitch had been characterized up till that point. During his interview: âHaymitch shrugs. âI donât see that it makes much difference. Theyâll still be one hundred percent as stupid as usual, so I figure my odds will be roughly the sameââ(CF.197). That way of thinking is shown to align exactly with how Haymitch views others and what he verbally says he thinks of them throughout the original trilogy, remember he was not impressed with Katniss or Peeta. In fact he was completely dismissive of them until they both showed that they had a will to fight, he didnât exactly respect them after that but he did show a real interest in them. Which is the same thing that Haymitch did in his arena from what we were showing in CF, he went off on his own from the start and only after Maysilee saved his life did he see the benefit of having an ally.
One of the key differences that I think was stripped from Haymitch in sotr is the fact that he cares about people, in his own silent way but he does care. Haymitch and Maysilee splitting up in CF made sense and didnât need any further explanation; they were nearing the end of the games and almost all of the others were dead, they didnât want to end up fighting each other. Itâs a simple reason and we really didnât need anything more, but then weâre shown that Haymitch did care about Maysilee more then just a person he had allied up with. He ran to her aid when she started screaming, even though he didnât have to, they were no longer allies but he still cared about her. Sotr makes it seem like Haymitch only ever cares about the others in the arena because they all agreed to be allies, and not because he actually grew to like a person but knew there was no way theyâd both make it back alive. Hie entire âNobel heroâ act towards the end with him genuinely willing to die so a different tribute could live was just so⌠undeserving? We know nothing about the girl, I canât even remember her name, and Haymitch knowing that he still has a family back home doesnât even try winning to get back to them.
The forcefield incident was 100% the reason why Haymitch got punished by Snow, becuase come on lets be so realistic; if he destroyed a part of the arena he would have been killed in seconds for doing so. Why would Snow let Haymitch keep playing the game for another 5~ days after he tried to blow up the arena? And then at the end of sotr Haymitch didnât have a plan to use the forcefield, it read like a complete accident and his victory is a coincidence instead of a clever use of the arenaâs capabilities that he knew were there. I can see Haymitchâs family being executed for using the forcefield, but I canât see Haymitch not being executed for the water tank.
So the propaganda message doesnât really get shoved down our throats until the very end when Haymitch rewatches the games with Caesar, and I do mean SHOVED down our throats because it was about as subtle as a brick to the face. Haymitch physically tells us that everything has been altered because Collins forgot that itâs show, not tell, and told us everything. (As a side note this is why I hate Lenore Dove. Everything we âknowâ about her has been told to us and we never get to see her doing any of the things she supposedly cares about.) Haymitch said while watching the re-run that he doesnât recognize the person he is seeing on the screen and I for one agree with him, because I did not recognize the Haymitch I knew and loved in the original books once in sotr. So Collins just wanted to use propaganda as an excuse for why Haymitchâs personality is so drastically different in the chapter from CF, but its not that simple. His games in CF line up exactly with who Haymitch has been shown to be as a person for the entire series. Iâve seen people try to blame Haymitchâs alcoholism to explain away why heâs so different between the two books, but how did he somehow build all the brain cells he clearly possesses in the og trilogy that were lacking in sotr from being an alcoholic? Sure his personality could pleasingly have changed but his intellect wouldnât. There was also no need for a propaganda âmessageâ because it doesnât convey anything we donât already know about that games, the capital, or propaganda as a whole.
Messaging in books and movies should never be so heavy handed because it implies that the audience is stupid and isnât able to pick out hints and clues from the text to figure out the message, it comes across as demeaning and insulting. Especially when the ballad of songbirds and snakes does propaganda surpassingly well. The games were loosing traction and nobody wanted to watch them, so what did Snow do? He propagated it. He sold the tributes and the games as an active participant experience for the people of the capital and it worked, the loved it and bought into it. Propaganda by its definition is information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. Which is what the hunger games are and have always been about in universe. They are a tool to remind people about the war and to keep everyone divided. Selling the tributes is a form of propaganda and itâs not something new to the series.
What are Katniss and Peeta doing for their entire games? Propagating their relationship because it gets them sponsors. Later in CF they have to keep up the image, spreading more falsehoods about their relationship, just to stay alive. Sotr was not the first hunger games book to feature propaganda but it was actively the worse use of it, because propaganda from real world experiences is usually sublet and plays on peoples emotions to get them to believe the falsehoods. What happened in sotr wasnât propaganda it was erasure of information, which are two very different concepts that do not correlate together in the way that Collins is trying to portray them.
The games we see for Haymitch in CF were 100% the original vision and itâs very clear to me why she did not stick to it; because we already know what happened in his games and itâs boring to read the same thing twice. So she added a bunch of stuff and rewrote Haymitch (and Snow, because neither the Snow we saw in bosas or the og would be ranting about his high school crush to a tribute or making rookie poisoning mistakes) to make the story feel fuller, but it came at a cost to already established lore. I think sotr could have been exactly the same as what we were showing in CF but it shouldnât have only been his games. The original concept could have been entertaining and original if she wrote only a portion, literally like six chapters at most about the games, and then everything else about his life afterwards and the next few years of tributes. I know why the book is the way that it is, but it doesnât make it magically good or excuse it for being poorly written. Personally I never wanted a Haymitch book because I knew something like this could happen, which is the same reason I donât want a Finnick book, neither of them work because we donât actually care about the games themselves do we? Sure 48 kids is an interesting concept for a game, but it was barely used to its full potential in sotr. What I think people were actually more curious about was Haymitchâs deterioration, which we got in a half asssed way, because we knew he spent majority of the game itself on his own so we never would have gotten to know the other tributes properly regardless. But let me ask you now, what would you actually want to see: Finnick being in the arena and winning the games, somehow as a 14 year old despite the fact that we know heâs from a career district and it would be unlikely that nobody volunteered for him? Or what happened afterwards with Snow selling him as an escort and Finnick eventually finding love with Annie, maybe seeing how he gets pulled into the rebellion because he has a lot of good reasons to be in one? I know which one Iâd pick and it will never be the one we get if it does happen.
As for the rebellion, I think we could have gotten a good buildup and set up for the early rebellion but again I donât think it could ever be Haymitch, or at least not the way it was portrayed in sotr. The thing with rebellions however is they are unpredictable in their nature. They could take a few days to a few years to start. Katniss and Peeta almost killing themselves and almost leaving the capital without a victor is actually a very believable and frankly powerful spark to start a rebellion, as it was meant to be. I donât doubt that the victors have all been talking between each other for years before that and contemplating an uprising, but the way it happened in sotr is laughable. Nobodies dies for trying to take down the capital: not Haymitch, not Beetee, not Mags, not Wiress, not Plutarch, and Snow knows about the whole thing. Itâs so shrouded in plot armour it feels suffocating as a story, because there were no consequences.

Hi... I don't know if you're going to answer, but I want to know what would happen if Optimus met a Cybertronian version of his human. He would be curious about them.
Pairing: yandere! TFP! Optimus Prime x cybertronian! reader
Hi! Thank you so much for the idea for the plot. I really hope I was able to implement it well. I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to send me requests. I really enjoy writing them!
You are a regular resident of Cybertron, somewhat sympathetic to the Decepticons. Your alt-mod doesn't make you the slaggiest of slags, but you still can't even look up to the Senate staff.
When war breaks out, you feel a strange joy. You want to join the Decepticons, but you're not sure you can kill. I suppose you could be a propagandist?
But none of that matters, because your alternate mode is a Seeker, and your city is occupied by the Autobots. Mobilization begins.
Military mobilization doesn't care if you want to fight or not. You will fight for the Autobots, and if you don't, you will be killed and your spare parts will be given to those who want to fight. Maybe that's not what good guys do, but there are no good guys in war.
When there's a knock at your door, you're ready to say yes.
To fight on the side of the Autobots is to betray yourself. But to try to help the Decepticons is to condemn yourself to torture. You're thinking.
And then the years go by. You still don't betray the Autobots, but you don't become an ideological associate. Centuries pass, and you realize that the Decepticons are no longer who they were. Or have they always been that way?
It all comes down to one battle. You're fighting a Decepticon Seeker for some kind of relic. The air battle rattles around, and you think you're going to die.
But you win. It's far from your first victory for this war, but it's one of the most impressive. So it's not strange that you're being presented for an award.
You've been summoned to the capital, Iacon, for this. And it's Optimus Prime himself who's presenting you with the award.
You could have been so gracious and tried to please the commander-in-chief and ruler of Cybertron, but instead, you limit yourself to pleasantries. You don't like Prime's company, you don't like his intense stare or the strange intonation in his voice.
Yes, you absolutely do not like Optimus Prime. You're not enamored with Autobot propaganda, and you know that almost all of the Primes in the history of the planet have been slags.
After the awards ceremony, you want to get back to the front - or somewhere else, away from Iaokon. But suddenly you receive a notification. You are now officially on vacation.
You try to find out the details, but all the bots around you shrug their shoulders. Orders from above, that's what they say.
And then you find some very expensive energon in your compartment. It's a gift. At least that's what the accompanying note says.
The expensive energon goes in the trash. You weren't born yesterday and you know you could be poisoned. Perhaps Decepticon intelligence could do it.
But⌠No. It's not the Decepticons. The strange handouts continue, and you begin to suspect you have a secret admirer. The gifts seem unnecessarily expensive, but surprisingly more necessary than expensive energon. Most recently, you were given a collection of ancient scriptures that you have long dreamed of.
Your vacation ends, but you don't have time to leave for the front. You are broken into by mechs and detained afterward. You're accused of treason. The reason for this is the old letters you wrote in support of the Decepticon movement.
You're not tortured, but you are put in solitary confinement. No lawyer. No court-martial. Just mute imprisonment.
Solitude doesn't kill you. You just think you should have done a better job of cleaning up your messes.
And then Optimus Prime comes to see you in person.
Your conversation. Strange. It's not a conversation between the accused and the accuser, between a criminal and a judge, between a subordinate and a superior, between a simple Cybertronian and the second to Prime. It's just a dialog on a near-political topic. Prime seems to be interested in your opinion.
You try to answer carefully. You choose your words so that you don't get the death penalty in your sentence.
Instead of a sentence, by the end of the dialog, all you get is an offer to become Optimus Prime's personal secretary.
And it's not so much an offer as an ultimatum. You're still charged with treason.
And you accept.
And after that, you are no longer at war, but living in the Prime's palace, Iaokna.
Your new job doesn't involve mortal danger, but it doesn't make it any safer. The charges against you have been dropped, but everyone around you knows you're an unreliable element.
Optimus Prime alone believes you.
You sense a catch. You could pretend it's okay, but you're not stupid. You can put two and two together.
Optimus Prime is paying attention to you. Quite openly. Quite specific.
Then you understand everything. The expensive gifts, the accusations of infidelity, Prime's strange behavior⌠You're in big trouble.
You try to hint to Optimus that you're very pleased, very flattered, very embarrassed, but you can't be with Prime. You're even willing to go back to war - or accept a harsh sentence, but definitely not to be paired with that mech.
Because you're still against the Prime dictatorship.
Because you're intimidated by Optimus.
Because, in the end, what you value most is freedom and honesty. Prime has taken both away by soft force.
At the end of it all, Optimus offers you to be his conjunx endura.
You say no, even though you realize that you definitely have no power over your destiny now.
From that day begins a long escape across cities, planets, and galaxies. So long that one day you fall into stasis, and wake up after millennia on planet Earth, inhabited by organics.
And there you meet the one you've been running from for so long.
Isn't that what they call fate?

Hey there! I was wondering if you could help me with a writing quandary I'm coming up against currently? Do you know how to write a badger primary protagonist so that they're not.... kind of boring??
For a bit of background, I have a character in a story I'm writing who I've decided is a badger primary, but when I try to write about his moral reasoning, it all just comes out as flat stock phrases. I've never really known a healthy and kind badger primary (though I did grow up around a lot of authoritarian badgers who I was absolutely on the receiving end of dehumanization from - part of the reason I'm writing him as a badger is to challenge my own experiences there), so I'm falling back on the whole "Overly Ideal Hero" thing and it's just not working. When I try to add more complexity to this character's actions, he either ends up being a bird primary (like me) who has a very badger looking system or if I try to lean more heavily loyalist, he ends up being a snake primary (like my younger sister who's also my best friend) who has a broad definition of his people.
Basically, how do you write a badger primary who's not crying over puppies and kittens and doing the whole "why can't we just get along like in middle school?" speech from Mean Girls constantly, while also not having them veer into being a bird or snake? Thanks!
There can be a kind of fascinating sadness to a Badger primary. They draw their personal strength from their chosen community, even when they know their community is flawed - the same way a Snake sticks with their Person even when they're wrong and failable. Badgers are romantics, and Badgers are patriots. They are loyal to this almost spiritual core idea of what their county ought to be - and can sometimes bring the ideal and the reality closer together, through sheer willpower.
I had a fantastic time writing Elim Garak, a incredibly morally gray interrogator/spy from a sort of sci-fi West Berlin. The tragedy of him is that he believes the propaganda, so when he sees his country stray too far he defects, in order to save it from itself. But he never stops being a patriot, and a lot of his conflicts revolve around whether he is able to adopt a second community and/or forgive himself for potentially betraying his first.
Clark Kent is absolutely a puppies-and-kittens Badger primary, but what's wonderful about him is he still feels loyal to his original community (Krypton) - which he cannot be a part of because it no longer exists. He loves his adopted community (Earth) with all his heart, but because he is a Badger, he is so conscious of the fact that he is an outsider - and specifically an outsider with the potential to be a gigantic threat. So he is hyper, hyper aware of the power dynamics surrounding him at all times. It gives everything he does this weight, because he is just. so. careful. Spock is another torn-between-two-incompatible-communities Badger, which is always a good premise, and his sparring partner Dr. McCoy is a Badger... constantly running into situations where he can't save everyone. But he just keeps getting back up. (complaining the whole time, or course.) I'd put Mad-Eye Moody in that same category - just wrote a fun thing with him.
Draco Malfoy actually has a very loud Badger primary, in contrast to his Snake primary parents. He actually believes all that stuff about the continuity and importance of the Malfoy name, and it's not okay for Voldemort to undermine it even if Draco himself would personally benefit and get a lot of power out of the exchange. I do have a big huge fic about post-war Draco coming, and one thing I really enjoyed was the way Draco needs to adapt the tradition and family history that gives him so much power and stability - into something that can still exist in a post-Voldemort world.
Universal Badgers are great when they're interacting with something the majority of their world doesn't consider a person. I loved writing Eddie Brock because... of course the homeless lady is a person, and so is the security guard, and the cashier at the convenience store, and yep the black goo monster symbiote, he's a person too. So when Venom gloms onto his head, and learns how to relate to humanity through Eddie, that's the lesson he learns, and Eddie becomes Venom's equal partner.
Contrast him with the villain of the first Venom movie, the very Elon-Musk coded Carlton Drake. Drake's issue is that he fundamentally sees people as expendable, so when he gets his own symbiote... of course Riot learns that people are expendable. So Drake becomes merely a body that Riot controls. Which, in the end, is why they lose.

ROUND 3 MATCH 32
Mammon propaganda:
âHe was done dirty in the first round, I hope he wins this time because he deserves itÂ
First of all, he hates you at the start but then he starts to like you but he exclaimed his hate too much at the start so he can't admit itÂ
Everyone knows that he likes MC, even his little D (who are demons familiars) thinks that they should dateÂ
He is a classic tsundere but doesn't actually hurt you like other tsunderes but he is so bad at hiding his feelings that everyone is just ignores itÂ
He is the avatar of greed, meaning he is clingy which may be a turn away for some people but he cares for you so so muchÂ
He has never turned into his demon form to hurt you (Asmo hasn't but he has tried to seduce you with his power)
Don't get me started on his story cards, he literally is so cute
He wants to be a mentor to Luke, like Lucifer was to him, he is only mean to Luke because he wants Luke to learn about how life isn't all sunshine and rainbows
He is also so hot, he is a bisexual panicÂ
He is bullied by his brothers but he cares for them so so much despite their bullying
I am so in love with him and have written so many fics about himÂ
Anyway, I'm going to stop here because otherwise I'll be here all dayâ
âFirst friend, first pact, practically the MC's first everything, he is a major Tsundere, he holds my heart hostage, I just want to smooch him, he and MC share a room, he is such a cute little bab, he does bully Luke (a child) but it's revealed that he just wants to show Luke that the world isn't all sunshine and rainbows and want help him figure things out
He is the cutest little guy, he cares for his brotherÂ
His sin is greed so he does steal things from people but since lesson 1 he hasn't stolen anything from MCÂ
He wrote a song to proposeÂ

Today I finally decided to check something a friend told me a while ago. It was about Robespierre allegedly supporting and pushing for a full scale invasion of Italy, an idea that came from his younger brother Augustin and NapolĂŠon.
The evidence for such claim is mentioned in Mary Young's biography on Augustin Robespierre. This is what Young has to say about it:
(page 142).
So not only was Carnot - someone who's considered responsible for turning a war of defense into one of conquest by robespierrist historians - unexpectedly against the idea of invading Piedmont, but Maximilien Robespierre, even more unexpectedly, was pushing for it.
And there's more: at page 154 - 155, Young mentions, quoting a work by J. Colin, that the reason why the CSP fell apart was because Robespierre interfered with war affairs to the point of alienating Carnot. While the latter was indeed against invading foreign countries, Robespierre, on the contrary, approved it and wanted it to be accomplished:
So it seems like the story about great advocate of peace, Maximilien Robespierre, is indeed just a story...!
Because of course a historian, whose book presents a foreword by Marisa Linton, wouldn't completely intentionally or unintentionally twist and misunderstand sources, right?
Right!?
Wrong.
The sources which Young uses to support her ideas are from Histoire de la campagne de 1794 en Italie by Gabriel Fabry vol 2, p. 438 and LâĂducation Militaire de NapolĂŠon by J. Colin. Let's give them a quick look.
Fabry's histoire simply reports a CSP decree showing a certain eagerness in wanting to invade Piedmont. The excerpt, as you can see, doesn't include any signature.
(pages 438 - 439.)
Since Young said that Robespierre approved it, one would be inclined to think that it was Maximilien who wrote and signed the decree, with his signature being the first one. Of course the handwriting and signature of a CSP member isn't absolute proof of approval, but I usually see these two things used as arguments to show that a CSP member agreed; even by reputed historians; so I wasn't surprised to see Young making such a bold assumption. I then checked Aulard's Recueil and surprise surprise that decree was written and signed by Carnot only. No trace of Robespierre:
(I underlined in cyan the part similar to what Fabry reported, since Aulard made only a summary of the decree.)
Concerning the fact that Carnot was opposed to Robespierre's - yes, because Colin considers it as such - warmongering plans, the latter mentions a letter dated 26 Thermidor, in which Carnot complains about it:
I happened to find that letter in Correspondance gĂŠnĂŠrale de Carnot vol. 4, p. 575 - 576:

To sum up, it says that the plan comes from the mind of Augustin, but that it was the tyranny of his brother that inspired it.
Now, this is a letter written shortly after the fall of the Robespierrists, it doesn't take much to understand that this is purely thermidorian propaganda, not only because of its content, but also for the wording used. Moreover, it's not a personal letter, in which Carnot rambles with a friend or relative, it's an official one from the Committee of Public Safety.
Saying that Carnot didn't approve the conquest of Piedmont whereas Maximilien Robespierre did - I actually don't know if it was Augustin's idea, but this is not the point right now - is simply wrong since the decree of 19 florĂŠal quoted above has been written and signed exclusively by him.
Thinking that a historian didn't care to double check their sources leading to such a misinformed mess is... truly appalling. This is proof of how one should always double check sources when possible, even if they come from historians we trust or appreciate!
Not that I personally trust or appreciate Young, considering that another of her bizarre claims based on dubious sources almost caused a sort of Thermidor in the community almost one year ago...
EDIT: Mary Young wasn't a historian, but a psychologist, so I did wrong in calling her as such. I do still think that someone of the reputation of Marisa Linton should have done a much better job in reviewing the book.

hi, hey, hello, this is blatant classroom wish list propaganda for next school year, but hear me out: i have a classroom for high-support needs students and next year, my classroom is basically doubling in size. it's a little wild to think about and plan for, especially as i want my classroom to be as neuro-affirming and accessible to my students as possible. a lot of my students are nonwriters and nonreaders, so i have to get incredibly creative in order to show student output and that students are learning while in my care. i have to build out a lot of my curriculum from the ground up, based on middle school level standards and make them attainable for my students who are not at a middle school grade-level instructional level, all while collecting continuous data on not only their academics, but behavior and life skills as well. and on top of all that, my students are also tested in the following areas according to state alternative testing: ela, math, social studies, and science. i have to hit grade-level essential standards for three different grade levels to make sure my kids are prepared for their testing that happens twice a year.
if you've ever thought, "hey, i would like to support this person in fandom," or "if deerie wrote a book, i'd buy it," or just have a soft spot in your heart for students who need a lot more support than your average student, please consider taking a look at my classroom wish list for next school year. i've added notes to each of the items describing what they would be used for in the classroom. some items are definitely just for fun -- activities to do during indoor recess, a much needed sensory break in the middle of the day -- and some things are definitely just aesthetic items -- bulletin board materials, fun-colored drawer carts -- but a lot of the items are either items we use daily, academic items, or items to organize and set up work systems in the classroom.
and if you feel called to help out my classroom, but can't access the amazon wish list for whatever reason, i also have a paypal account -- please dm me for the information. even just reblogging this post would help a ton.
okay, bye, love ya bunches.

Propaganda:
For Orufrey: "They're tragic wlw who have devoted their lives to each other since they were kids. They live together, they cook together, they're raising four girls together and they're doing the best they can. Olruggio would do anything for Qifrey if Qifrey would just Let Him đ but Qifrey is dead-set on protecting Olruggio and keeping him safe and in the dark no matter what it costs... i cant đ..."
"Man I don't know they just have the vibes. They have toxic yuri energy but they are two grown men. They've known each other since their apprentice days and have stuck together ever since. Qifrey's main magic type was something he took up because Olruggio proposed that he learned to control the water he feared. They live together away from most of society with Qifrey's four apprentices, living the sapphic cottagecore (ateliercore???) dream. Qifrey, due to the fact that his eyesight is very much failing, something which is very problematic when it comes to witches, who need their eyesight more than most, is getting very desperate to get all he lost to the Brimhats, the witches who took one of his eyes and his memories, and Olruggio ends up noticing this pursuit and is implied to have done this more than once. Qifrey does not want Olruggio to know about both his failing eyesight and his goals, so he ends up completely wiping Olruggio's memory of those things, and laments that Olruggio is a kind person, and one who would most likely forgive him again, but also one who would try to save him, even when he didn't want to be saved. He also apologized right up until the moment Olruggio's memories of his secret were gone. In general I think chapter 40 is the somewhat toxic guy yuri chapter ever. I'm very tired so I do not know how to explain any of this, I just thought "wow Orufrey reminds me of this one poll I saw on Tumblr" and then spent three days straight hunting for your blog before completely forgetting my reasoning for Orufrey being yuri right before I submitted this."
For Joongdok: "Well first of all Yoo Joonghyuk has a whole arc that is transfem coded as hell (has a power/technique that can technically only be used by women but somehow he can also use it, for a time he even turns into a woman to wield it and it's. Actually just let me get the quote "The ines of the face had changed but it was clearly Yoo Joonghyuk. No, it was even more than before.") that just kinda happens,, and doesn't get brought up again but anyway. Second of all just look at them. You see the vision. Also a bonus observation is that these two often get shipped in a poly ship with Han Sooyoung and whenever I see people make a "regular couple, yaoi couple, yuri couple, I see no difference love is love" meme with them the combination of which pair among these three is which of the categories is always different"
Note: This submission also mentions Han Sooyoung, but I decided to count this polyship submission as guy yuri as well.
"They love each other, they pretend they don't care for each other but all their actions prove they care too much, if you remove someone from the trio then the resulting duo is extremely dysfunctional, as evidenced by more than a million words of canon. Is it technically guy yuri? Well, Han Sooyoung is a woman, but in a way she's one of the guys. Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk are men, but the text heavily hints that Yoo Joonghyuk is a trans woman who's just too busy and stressed out to transition yet, and Kim Dokja has just never thought about his own gender a single day in his life. They made the world for each other, they went back in time countless times and waged countless wars for each other, they wrote and read and lived a story, their story, for each other and that's what saved them all. The way Han Sooyoung writes Yoo Joonghyuk's story to save Kim Dokja and loses herself in the process, the way Yoo Joonghyuk voluntarily lives the story to the point of losing himself too and even forgetting why he originally decided to do it, the way Kim Dokja read Han Sooyoung's story which was Yoo Joonghyuk's life and that's how he found himself, they all took so much from each other and gave so much of themselves to each other, this is all very yuri."
"they're so yuri you have no idea. they have every staple of a yuri ship. unwavering devotion. waiting dozens or thousands of years for each other. dooming themselves and the world for each other. so much yearning. i also see them genderbent a lot (including inn canon in the case of yjh) and they're right both of these people are women. i genuinely can't even see them strictly as men at this point they're just yjh and kdj and they are yuri do you understand."
"they're so yuri. the abscense of yuri is the presence of yuri etc etc. these two guys are all ABOUT abscenses. also one of them is a part time woman. the other guy is a guy but like in the same way a square is a rectangle. anyway they're so guyyuri to me. bonus points also because they have a mutual girlfriend and when she's present they're girlyaoi but that's not relevant to this specifically"

When people talk about how "rwde is mad that RWBY subverts expectations" I wonder how much of what's considered subverting expectations is actually ignoring set up, doing things out of nowhere, and actually doing a popular and very much so expected thing.
Like don't get me wrong, I do think sometimes people have ideas for what RWBY should've been and then think that it was more set up then it actually was. Like, people who took Blake saying she grew up outside the kingdoms and had to learn to fight to mean "I am an orphan and spent my whole life on the streets" that then got mad when Blake had pretty big house and parents. I might agree that RWBY perhaps shouldn't have given Blake the privileges they gave her specifically because of how they decided to use her to tell the other Faunus to stop being mean to their oppressors (though I'd sooner throw that part out than get rid of Blake being the daughter of a leader with a big house,) but I don't think it was pulling the rug out from under people the way some people do.
However, then you have things like Adam, where some people in RWDE are saying "he was set up as this interesting character who would be an ideological foil for Blake that cared about the cause and his people, and it felt like he'd be used as a way to talk about the injustice in the world of Remnant and then was reduced to nothing but a girl-obsessed hate sink two dimensional incel" and some anti-rwde people are hitting back with "you're just upset that the edgy bad-boy isn't getting redeemed, you just wanted Adam to be Zuko, but RWBY subverted your expectations by not redeeming him and instead giving Ilia the redemption arc, and giving Blake and Yang the sympathy."
And there's a lot to unpack, there. Including the fact that redemption arcs and sympathy aren't a zero-sum game in fiction and as someone who loves both redemption arcs and when characters get justified sympathy, it's frustrating when people act like there isn't enough redemption to go around as if it's a pie and Adam getting a piece of it means Ilia doesn't get any.
But more to the point, A. I at least have zero interest in Adam being a Zuko, because so much of Zuko's redemption arc hinged on Zuko confronting his and his people's role in oppression. Adam is oppressed. Zuko was scarred by an abusive father and banished from home, Adam was branded like cattle by a supremacist who he was working for as a child laborer. Although both are incredibly sympathetic, they're incredibly different. Whether or not the writers were trying to harken back to Zuko (which I believe they were,) they seemed to completely miss the differences between the two characters, and also deciding to 'subvert expectations' when the circumstances they themselves wrote were so different is a bad look at best. As if they couldn't have 'subverted expectations' with a different character like Cardin or Jacques or even Roman Torchwick, that wasn't a member of their in-universe oppressed minority group.
B. A member of an oppressed people group that's been hurt by the oppressors of the world and yet spends their time committing horrible cruel acts that force the heroes to stand against them is not some never before heard of thing. In fact, it's very common. A revolutionary supposedly fighting for equality that's actually hurting the people he's supposedly fighting for is a pretty regular every day thing. People have literally been criticizing how it's misused and usually racist propaganda (usually written by white people) since long before RWBY was even concepted. Adam isn't a proper subversion of anything, in my opinion, because you can't do the common thing and then say you subverted expectations by not doing the less common thing. Which in this case, the less common thing would actually be to make the oppressed person who had been branded and was shown fighting for the rights of his people to actually be a nuanced and complicated character who does deserve sympathy and could be redeemed.
C. It might just be me, but if you're going to 'subvert expectations' then the thing you write instead of the expectation had better be pretty freaking good. Because sometimes the expectation is there because it just works well. Like in a group of heroes, you expect them to develop a friendship. If people want to subvert expectations by instead having them hate each other, the story better be golden because the reason people tend to expect friendship is that it's usually much easier to connect to character dynamics when they actually like each other. If you're going to write a story where hope is a central theme, but you want to subvert expectations by making a sympathetic and cool character with a personal connection to the mains look like they're gonna get redeemed but then instead make them just the worst person imaginable, then you better do it super well and make him instead a great well-rounded nuanced and fun to hate villain. So not only do we have to pay attention to why the writers shouldn't have gone that route for Adam, we gotta look at the quality of what they did with it, and... Nope. It sucked. Adam was paper thin and horribly voice acted and honestly if he'd never attacked in V6 nothing would've really changed because it had no real consequences that couldn't have been better achieved in a different way, and introducing his branding scar in the same scene he got stabbed was purely for shock value, and nothing came of his character, and idk if Ruby ever even learned his name on screen or Weiss knew anything about him, and it was so badly done. If you're going to 'subvert expectations,' you gotta do it well, or people are always going to want the thing they expected in the beginning instead. Unfortunately, the RWBY writers didn't write Adam well at all. So I for one can't blame anyone for saying 'honestly, I wish they'd gone with the other thing.'
D. Back to 'sometimes when people say subverting expectations, they really mean ignored set up.' With Adam in particular, I do believe that he was always meant to be a bad guy who did bad cruel things from the very first trailer he appeared in, but that doesn't at all mean that set up wasn't ignored. From Blake talking about him as a mentor, to her crediting him with the Grimm masks, to the ideological differences, to Cinder literally having to threaten and coerce him into working with her on screen, the set up indicated that at the very least, this would be a complicated and nuanced 'villain with a point' and that point was going to matter and be addressed. The set up was that Cinder's coercion was going to be addressed and would matter. The set up was that Blake's complicated feelings about Adam and her desire to help her people and her later established care and compassion for Ilia (who may I remind people is at least just as bad as seasons 1-3 Adam in at least attempt if not execution,) would lead somewhere when it came to Adam. The set up was that seeing a child laborer literally branded on the face with the logo of WEISS'S COMPANY would lead to big discussions and some sort of recognition of just how bad the current system is and how bad the SDC itself as always been. And instead Weiss as far as we know never even heard about it and continued on being angry that she wasn't set to be CEO and calling her grandfather a hero and Blake was completely disinterested in attending a rally against Jacques Schnee and teased Weiss about her family owning half of Atlas. Like ???
E. Doing things out of nowhere is also not subverting expectations. In regards to Adam, this looks like randomly making him totally obsessed with Blake enough that he stalks her for weeks when he literally let her go repeatedly before that. Doing things out of nowhere is making Adam not care an ounce about his people in order to do whatever Salem says when we saw him reject Cinder outright and need to be coerced with threats to his people. Those aren't subverting expectations, that's just doing one thing and then retconning the character to do something out of character.
This post turned out to be mostly about Adam, but there's tons of examples of this, like people saying RWDE are mad that the writers 'subverted expectations' by making Ironwood turn evil when we were sitting there like 'the fact that he wasn't evil was subverting expectations in the first place! And they had to throw V3 out the window to get where they were in V8! And it was super badly done!' People just throw around 'subverting expectations' when it comes to RWBY because it sounds a lot better than 'flying by the seats of their pants doing whatever pops into their heads with no care or consideration towards set-up or emotional pay off' but that's it, that's what the RWBY writers seem to do. When I expect something to happen in RWBY, it's because it's the natural thing that makes sense to happen, and in their supposed effort to 'subvert expectations,' the writers instead made a show with no consequences where you can't expect the writers to make anything that happens matter and you can't trust what's in the show because the writers might say sike and retcon it. It's endlessly frustrating to be like 'hey was any of what was in the show going to matter' and then have people say 'you're just mad because RWBY subverted your expectations.' RWBY subverted my expectation that the show would be good, how about that?
You know, if the show actually was interested in subverting expectations, Jaune wouldn't be in the show nearly as much and he'd be more gender-non-conforming and be a support healer role instead of the man now with like twenty years of experience on the mains who always has his trauma get plenty of focus and gets away with screaming in Ruby's face that she's responsible for all bad things while he mourns the three different women that were shoved in the fridge for the sake of his character development. They could've started with making the white straight cis able-bodied not-faunus man actually not be a basic underdog-protagonist turned Michael-Scarn-esque tragic hero that Weiss lusts after, but whoops. Like what am I supposed to think, that they're super interested in subverting expectations for the sake of women when Jaune is right there guzzling up screen time? Nah babes.
(Before someone comes in here talking about Adam-obsessed fan boys, I do not even like Adam, canon Adam is not only gross but far too two-dimensional for me to even enjoy, and my own ideas for rewrites involve me boiling Adam down to a concept and building him up again as if he was a different character as much 'Adam' as Ruby is Red Riding Hood. Nobody accuse me of being an Adam-obsessed dudebro or I will lose it. Because that's another thing that a lot of anti-RWDE people seem to do, is decide that the only reason anyone would ever talk about problems with Adam is because they're an obsessed incel man. And meanwhile I'm over here as a bi-women who dislikes Adam partially because he reminds me of my controlling 'my happiness is your responsibility' ex-boyfriend who we - long story - thought might've stabbed someone with a sword once. So yeah, not an Adam fanboy lol.)

Your "Biblical World View" is just 19th Century Enlightenment Propaganda
Is it just me, or does everyone stroking their ego about how "Biblical" they are, and how "Bible-Believing" they are (protestants, always), always seem to never actually believe the Bible?
I think so many of the tumors growing on the back of Sola Scriptura (where is that in the Bible?) are a result of late enlightenment, materialist philosophies, built on a bedrock of a hermeneutics of suspicion.
I saw a horrific example of this when I read someone discount John John 8:7-11 because, "Well, that section of John wasn't written by John, actually. It was added by scribes, so you shouldn't take it as seriously." Like, what? If this is your take, do you just not believe in any of the Bible? If some part is less Divinely Inspired, if it is less the Word of God, how is any of the Bible to be believed?
This is very funny, please laugh.
What this does is create impossible win conditions verging on, "If Jesus didn't write the Bible with his own earthly hands and leave it on a table for John the Baptist (not Catholic) to copy by hand, then none of it is real." Do you see how stupid that is? It is very stupid, and also very much not the historical view of the Church.
Scripture is Divinely inspired and Inerrant. It is inspired by God and has no Errors. This does not mean all of Genesis as we have it now was written by Moses himself. But all the people who recorded it for him, translated it, recovered it, and edited it were divinely inspired, and their collective work is without error.
I don't care what kind of historiographic view you take on Gospel authorship-- I care that you actually believe in the Bible. This handwringing over, "oh, who really physically wrote xyz," is a product of actual Free Masons, no I am not kidding.
This is what singled-minded, scholarly fixations on the Bible will do to people, and this is exactly why the Church needs Tradition. Tradition is why we have the Bible in the first place-- you're welcome, by the way. Tradition teaches you how to interpret the Bible. It is nothing less than the height of hubris to assume you know better, you are more imbued with the Holy Spirit, and more worthy of interpreting the scriptures than men who knew the apostles personally.

comrades, donât kill yourselves.
edit april 2025: as iâve learned more and become more radical i see huge issues with what i said here. i viscerally recoiled just reading it, lol. revised below the cut.
my views arenât actually too different from what they were when i wrote the original, but iâm now far less concerned about the possibility of hurting the feelings of usamericans who still subscribe to a mythologised view of âour nationâ or âour valuesâ or âthe constitutionâ that has never truly existed. all of that âwhat is happening to americaâ is pure bullshit. internally, i felt just as blunt and harsh as iâm about to be now, but i was a coward and i didnât want to alienate myself from the vast majority of the establishment-loving people that surround me.
(as i indefinitely live in the usa, which, donât get me wrong, i love and it is now just as much my home as my actual home, but still, itâs insane just how deluded the average person is without realising it. itâs like that joke where the cia agent congratulates the kgb agent on the quality and quantity of soviet propaganda and the kgb agent says that itâs nothing in comparison to american propaganda. and the cia agent is confused and says âbut we donât have propagandaâ)
my more developed line goes something like this: fuck trump and fuck harris and fuck both democrats and republicans and if you honestly think that democrats are even slightly left wing or in any way progressive or working towards change, youâre either propagandised to the high heavens or just wilfully blind.
democrats are disgusting, spineless, posturing idiots who have no clue how to even pretend to care about people. and they honestly donât. why do you think like half of their campaign platform for decades on end was âweâll codify roe!â but they literally never did, even when holding as much power as possible? because it was a bargaining chip. as long as they could make a promise like that, people would keep voting for them, hoping that this time it would really happen. but it didnât, because they care more about not upsetting people and maintaining their careers and the absurd amounts of funding they get from every kind of lunatic lobbying group you can imagine.
democrats fund the right. democrats are funded by the right. democrats are the right. this shouldnât be surprising, if youâve been paying any attention at all. the democratic party is not and has never been representative of any minorities or marginalised groups and it has never actually tried to make things better for them. people often say âbut oh, this or that issue wouldâve been so much worse under republicansâ and that may be true, but it misses the real point: democrats grudgingly give concessions, they donât enact change.
obviously the maga-qanon crowd is particularly demented and i so have a special hatred for the nordic-aryan-alien-space-nazism thing that they have going on. but the point is that just because republicans are bad, it does not mean that democrats are good.
thereâs a crucial difference here: a very mildly lesser evil versus an active force for good. democrats are an active force for bad. being in ostensible opposition to republicans just mean that they want to carry out their atrocities with a reassuring smile. republicans are just saying the quiet part out loud, and, if youâve been listening, the quiet parts have never even been all that quiet.
if you actually wanna be of help to any oppressed people in the united states and especially if you want to help the literal billions that the united states oppressed abroad, you have to let go of the attachment to this idea of america as a place that could ever have turned out as anything but an evil, imperialistic genocide fanatic thatâs badly masquerading as benevolent.
this is the inevitable outcome of the ideological foundations of the united states. a party, an election, all the votes in the world wonât change that. this is the system working as intended, slaughtering and enslaving and torturing incomprehensible numbers of people to line the pockets of ceos and politicians, just as it has always done.
get your head out of the sand. open your goddamn eyes. marching with a sign or posting on social media (unless promoting fundraisers) doesnât do shit. if your âdissentâ is in any form that the ruling class doesnât try to stop, itâs because you pose no threat to their establishment. resistance has to be disruptive, it cannot be anything that gets support from the very same systems you are protesting against. i donât know why people think that any movement protected by cops or that involves politicians will have any effect. itâs obvious that it wonât.
no matter how much they smile and say âoh but we love women and gay people and muslimsâ theyâre not actually going to do anything but enthusiastically support the genociding of muslims, the pseudoscientific queerphobia, and the forcing of women into a box. theyâre all part of the same money and control driven machine that has sadistically ended or destroyed the lives of countless people in a lost every single nation, including at home.
anyways, peace and love on the planet earth and all that. i love my fellow humans so much, i want nothing more than for us to just be chilling together like picking berries in a field and drinking tea or something. iâm so tired of this essentialist civilisation vs savagery or this nation against that one shit. weâre just a bunch of creatures trying to exist and be safe and not miserable and the people of the world fundamentally have the same interests at heart. constructed divisions have made us so focused on how we can dominate, when the natural tendency of humans is to cooperate. if your ideology isnât fuelled by love, itâs worthless. i donât mean this as some lofty flowery shit, i just mean that our end goal in everything should be the ultimate decrease of suffering and increase of happiness on as large a scale as possible.
the earth is beautiful and humanity is beautiful and we really can do something beautiful together. stay alive, stay fighting as hard and as tangibly as you can for days when the capitalists of the united states and imperial core no longer have a monopoly on the most basic elements of human existence.
in the words of our comrade yugopnik: my homo sapiens patriotism can no long be held at bay. lol

HOT TAKE TOURNAMENT!
TOURNAMENT OVERTIME #166

Submission 515
if you must ship Jesus with one of his disciples then at least ship him with John
look I'm a Christian (but like not the bad kind) and I don't personally ship Jesus with anyone cause that feels a bit too much rpf-y for me but I see people (jokingly, I assume, for the most part, but also this is the internet so I know some people are very serious about this) ship Jesus with either Judas or Peter and like....... tell me your knowledge of the Bible is the few Bible stories you remembered from sunday school as a kid without telling me that your knowledge of the Bible is the few Bible stories you remembered from sunday school as a kid. like yeah sure there's all these great stories about these guys that kids learn about! everyone who has some basic knowledge of the whole easter deal knows Judas and if you've learned any stories about Jesus with the disciples then you probably know about Peter. but like........ John is the guy. like go read the book of John if you don't believe me. like this is the guy who is canonically (fun reminder that the term "canon" originates from people discussing the Bible long long ago) "the disciple who Jesus loved." like Sufjan Stevens, king of "is he talking about his boyfriend or Jesus" refers to John & Jesus' relationships in his song "John My Beloved" which is hella gay and like it's all right there!!!!!! like this is so strange for me to be invested in because I'm not like someone who actively ships them but like if I wasn't religious and all I would be all over this and the fact that people keep being like "hehe Jesus and Judas~~~" when there's like no textual evidence for that!!! it's just people seeing the kiss of betrayal and liking some dramatic stuff!!! and the people who bring up Peter instead are the same!!! like you're just applying fanfic tropes to a dynamic and deciding that you like it instead of like looking at what's actually there in canon!!!!!!!! like at least do cool blasphemy or whatever I hate that I care about this. I hate that I wrote all of this. I have no dog in this fight. whoever wins I lose because I don't want to care about this in any way but I do and it's horrible and I just wish people would at least talk about the guy who when having to read his gospel like a year ago for something, I was left with the thought of "huh....... if I didn't know any better I'd say that there was something going on here"
Propaganda is encouraged!
Also, remember to reblog your favourite polls for exposure!
Now this is the discourse I live for.
Also, if your otp is chriscariot (Jesus/Judas) or chrisrock (Jesus/Simon Peter), fight for your ship in the notes!

Who is your favourite companion?
TOURNAMENT MASTERPOST
Propaganda
Joe Grant
beloved girl has an absolutely wonderful dynamic with the doctor but not only that she can absolutely kick butt on her own and she holds her own against the master soooo well
Susan Foreman
I love her! Her existance still gets randomly brought up as a reminder that the Doctor is so much older and has done so much more than current companions realize. She has her grandfather take her back in time to historical events to do her homework about them. She forgets what has and hasn't happened/been discovered yet and confuses her teachers. Theres so many times where one of the conversations she has with one of the others makes me go "oh, right, they originally intended this as edutainment" and i don't mean that negatively! I actually love that part of early classic who, thats exactlythe type of tv show i would love! If I had started at the very beginning instead of with New Who she would have the companion I got attached to that drew me in. As it stands thats still the case for One's portion of classic who! Q (@ace-fandom-dumbass )
The propaganda I originally wrote for the Susan vs Vicki round, because as I said back then I'd wanted to propagandize for Susan since the tournament was announced, and also in general. Please, she is so much more than just the first companion and the Doctor's granddaughter. She is so *alive*. She is constantly stressed, she does not rush enthusiastically into danger she will do it because she is the only one who can but she is so afraid. She constantly deals with dismissal from adults around her. She is so frustrated. And she also does love adventure, and she saves the day many times with her wit, and she cares about people. But she also hates her life, she feels like she never had a real identity, she wishes she could take root somewhere but she has never ever found a place where she could. The Doctor then decides to just forcibly strand her somewhere... That's so not what should have been done about it. And. A n d. She has literal, actual meltdowns every other episode, from those stresses and frustrations and dismissals â and it is something that I used to experience, and something that I have only ever seen in fiction once â with Susan (also like one other case of a character having had it once. Susan has it regularly â so have I). Also. EU fans, can we talk about Susan prose and first person narration. Oh my. If I remembered the EU more clearly I would have talked generally more about it too :( [sad emoticon] Possibly the series too. But please, I love Susan so much. I love Vicki too, but Susan is so *important* to me. Also she's autistic, psychotic (in Edge of Destruction when the TARDIS is accidentally running into the Big Bang everyone else just gets stressed and irritable, and Susan experiences actual psychosis) and gay (btw, her interactions with Ping-Cho in Marco Polo!) And the fandom is so unfair to her. Because of course, she is a neurodivergent teenage girl (literally, like, people are talking down about her for things that *Barbara* did more than her (screaming in fear. Susan screams in frustration. The literal first iconic scream-in-fear in DW belongs to Barbara. Also there's nothing wrong with screaming in fear) and deny/erase many sides and actions of her). I love her so much, and knowing that some might be just voting for her because First Companion, Doctor's Granddaughter makes me sad â I want people to vote for her, but I want them to vote for *her*. She genuinely deserves it. (@dyspunktional-leviathan )
