ok so here are my thoughts in bullet point form:

the customization options, side quests, and the ability to improve a sort of "home base" are really great additions to the game and i enjoyed them all a great deal!

the different lightsaber stances and skill trees let you mix things up in a fun way so that combat doesn't get too stale.

the actual story kinda sucks shit. there are some nice callbacks and charming character moments in the game, but ultimately it just feels kinda hollow in a way that jfo doesn't (to me). the characters' faces seem more blank and static in cutscenes than they did in jfo, and the writing doesn't give anybody much depth. the stakes feel far lower than they did in jfo and it really made me miss the first game.

nothing in js manages to match the beauty and majesty of the settings in jfo. sometimes i would run around kashyyyk and dathomir just for the sake of running around!! while i enjoy having a base planet like koboh with more to explore, this had the side effect of making the other locations feel like afterthoughts, and the next-largest planet, jedha, wasn't very fun to traverse. it's a big desert. that's it. there are some interesting puzzles, but nothing as engaging as the tombs in jfo.

somehow despite being a far newer game and playing on the ps5, it felt a lot jankier than jfo. a lot of the physics with cal's outfits and hair were weird, i got a fair amount of glitches, the game crashed a couple of times, traversal wasn't incredibly smooth, and sometimes in combat it seemed like my inputs were lagging or sometimes they just wouldn't work at all.

ultimately i would not recommend anyone pay full price for jedi survivor unless you're a big star wars fan who wants nothing more than to feel like a badass jedi. because it's pretty good at that!! but if you're looking for a strong narrative game i'd go for jedi fallen order over jedi survivor, and regardless i don't think it's really worth the $70 price tag considering the glitches and other drawbacks. i know nobody asked for this fnvjdjd idk how many of my followers even rly play video games and/or care about star wars but ANYWAY. those r my thoughts. i have a lot more i could say ab the story but i don't wanna get spoilery considering how recently it came out
