All your TLT posting is making me questioning if I should try it.. The only thing i'm worried is that I don't want to start a series and then finding out in the third bookthat the author made the antiheroic genderbent mao protagonist throw the metaphorical atomic bomb on the japanese because the author is an american descendent of a Chang Kai Shek general and wanted to absolve the yankees to grant herself a career (it worked greatly). So should i still try TLT as an olde commie? Love your blog btw, please continue reblog all those TLT fan art they look great! Thanks!
whew lowkey glad I couldn't get past the first book in that other series. anyway *clears throat*
If you like LESBIANS, Locked Tomb is the fandom for you. If you like BONES and FAILWOMEN and ARE ANGRY AT GOD, Locked Tomb is the fandom for you. If you like BAD JOKES and SHITTY MEMES, we have those in spades. If you love EXCELLENT FANART and DIVORCES that last TEN THOUSAND YEARS and LOCKED ROOM MURDER MYSTERIES, if you think EVIL COUGARS are SEXY, if you think PLUTO totally COUNTS as a PLANET, Locked Tomb is the fandom for you!!!!
[here's the rest of the tlt manifesto on ao3, podficced by @/wilfriede ]
On a serious note! I think TLT is definitely informed by leftist politics, and it has many themes that lend themselves to juicy interpretations on top of a really meaty worldbuilding and characterisation. Also the fanart SLAPS. And if you read the books you can check out my fics which, not to brag, are some of the weirdest I've ever written! featuring such tropes as: "bodyswapped man sucks his own dick" "vagina dentata" "ritual sex to have a baby during a mass death event" "in-universe academia" and "orphan girl meets her parents for the first time and they suck"
tldr please read the locked tomb <3
#leaving this in the tags bc it's minor but I am hesitant to recommend TLT if you're looking specifically for a “political” novel#many people in the fandom think of it as such & I think it speaks to the depth of the writing that there's room#to look at these books looking for themes of environmentalism anticolonialism gender etc#but EYE tend to think that it's a story driven by tropes and character-focused storylines first & foremost#& I'm just wary of ascribing Good Political Intent to a series that's still ongoing#e.g. in the end is the series going to address all the nuances of the relationship between the indentured servant / her cruel lady (main f/#in a Wholly Developed Leftist Way? I doubt it!#the worldbuilding takes a backseat to interpersonal relationship stuff imo. there's not gonna be a neat ending#but the books make an actual point of saying that nuclear bombs are bad!! btw!!! so there's that#ask#elle tlt posting

Hi, lols! Can I please get Onyx (she/her pronouns) with Kuroo and ☀️ with the color purple? Thank you! (It's okay if the drabble is reader insert. I mostly want my name in the album edit part. Lol)
love is nothing stronger
than a boy with love
✘ just how long were you planning on keeping the fact that the guy playing on your college volleyball team and your classmate kuroo tetsuro was the love of your life? as long as it took for him to reciprocate it.
✘ GENRE: fluff
✘ WARNINGS: chaotic kuroo
✘ WORDCOUNT 1.1k
✘ A/N: I got your message about changing your colour to red btw!
You were a hot mess - no. You still are a hot mess.
Or at least that’s what the tall, raven haired and ridiculously hot guy had said to you when you had accidentally split the contents of your entire backpack on the floor of your first business management lecture of the semester.
You had scrambled to put the items back in your bag when another set of hands had emerged in front of your eyes and began to help you. Slender fingers, marked with small scratches and abrasions met your gaze, and as they neatly stacked your notebooks into a small pile, your eyes drifted. Past the toned forearms, to biceps on display due to his plain black tee shirt, you finally managed to look at his face. Hazel eyes had enraptured your gaze, keeping them stuck there, only to be broken with a deep voice and a teasing smile.
“You’re a hot mess, aren’t you?”
In your defence, no one had ever said that to you in your life, so your response of a cherry red flush billowing in your cheeks and your inability to speak even the simplest of words - was valid.
However the fact that you still struggled to speak a single word to the middle blocker volleyball player, that was not as valid.
It’s not like you didn’t try, seeing as Kuroo made it his mission to talk to you almost every day, emerging out of what seemed like thin air to sit next to you in class and become a constant part of your day. But his most frequent haunt was the college’s indoor volleyball court, a place you now tried to avoid in the hopes to make yourself less tongue tied. However, today, you don’t have a choice but to go in.
Kuroo’s phone is clenched tightly in your hand, and you try not to focus on the fact that your hands are beginning to sweat at the thought of what you are about to do.
Just talk to him. That’s all you have to do.
“I can do this,” you hiss under your breath, but don’t make a move towards the open doorway. Just glancing at it forces a lump of nerves into your throat threatening to block your airway and cementing your feet to the ground. What do you even say? Hey Kuroo, sorry to interrupt your practice but you left your phone on your chair in class and I grabbed it… Why did I grab it? God what if he thinks I stole it and then thinks I'm a massive crazy stalker or something-
“If you stalked me, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.” Four thoughts enter your head in rapid succession. First, the realisation you had been talking out loud, followed by the conclusion that someone had heard you. And that person was the guy you were trying to hype yourself up into approaching. Slowly, you spin on your heels, craning your neck up to look at the raven haired boy, and your lungs cease.
Your final thought: you’re fucked.
After opening and closing your mouth too many times to not be awkward, you quickly shove the phone in your hands towards him. Not realising he is so close, you practically punch him in the chest with his phone. Oh my god, kill me now.
Kuroo smiles down at you, gently grabbing your hand and the phone inside it.
“Thanks for that, I was wondering when you were going to return it.” For the second time in less than a minute your brain goes blank as you try to comprehend the meaning behind his words. Please tell me he doesn’t think I'm a stalker…
“I didn’t steal it!” You blurt out, not knowing where his head is at, but not wanting his train of thought to go down that road. Loud laughter meets your ears, and you watch as Kuroo tilts his head back and laughs. The movement forcing you to move forward as he leans backwards and suddenly you find yourself closer to this guy than you’ve ever been before.
When he calms down and looks at you again, your heart thumbs loudly in your chest at his face. He is grinning at you, and not just a polite smile, but an ecstatic one. “I know you didn’t steal it, because I left it there. On purpose.” He teases, finally slipping the phone out of your hand, and letting it fall back to your side.
“On purpose…” You repeat back with furrowed brows. He simply shrugs and slips it into the pocket of his gym shorts as your eyes train on his hands. Only when you look at his face again do you ask, “Why?”
Running a hand through his black hair, something you have never seen him do, you start to wonder if he’s nervous. “Because I wanted to talk to you outside the classroom.”
“Why?” You ask again and he has the nerve to roll his eyes.
“Because I like you?” He states expressionlessly as if his world isn’t rocked by this information, unlike yours, which he just dropped a nuclear bomb on. He likes you? Red covers your cheeks and you don’t know what to do other than stare at him. Since when?
“Since you spilled your books all over the floor of our classroom months ago. I wasn’t exactly subtle about it.” he laughs, yeah he’s definitely nervous. Your brain skips through every single interaction you can remember with him and… had you been so stuck in your own head and on your own pining that you hadn’t noticed the extra time he would spend opening and closing doors to your class for you? Where some days he would be waiting outside the auditorium with two cups of coffee? Or how he was always the first one to lean over his laptop and explain something if you hadn’t been typing for a while. Surely you weren’t that oblivious… right?
“I thought you were just being nice!” You cry out in exasperation, covering your face with your hands to hide your embarrassment. Oh god, you’re an idiot.
“I was being nice,” Comes his deep laugh once more, and suddenly there's warmth on your hands. Opening your eyes, only to see Kuroo’s hazel gaze right in front of you, his face so close you can almost feel his breathing.
“Can I take you out to the café on campus as a date now?” You groan at the memory of him previously taking you there, where you thought it had just been a study thing. Gently you whack him on the arm in protest to his teasing, and he feigns a wince that has you smiling.
“Please? I’ll beg.” He smirks and you quickly shake your head.
“You’re trouble Kuroo Tetsurou.” He slips his hand into yours pulling you closer until you’re flush against his tall frame to the point where you actually worry he can feel your erratic heartbeat. Leaning down, if you hadn’t been so close you may have missed it. The gentle touch of his lips brushing across your forehead in such a sweet move, your heart almost combusts in your chest. Glancing up at him, Kuroo leans back just a bit so that he can smile down at you, and you know a similar one is spread across your own face.
“I’m glad you finally noticed.”
a/n: i really really loved writing this one so I hope you love it as much as I loved writing chaotic Kuroo Onyx. Much much much love for you my friend!

How can for (extreme) example kids being physically abused/raped by strangers/parents be a trial to overcome for good? Girls being kidnapped and sold for sex? Students stepping on a little puppy for views? If this is a sometimes situation where god lets evil thru, then its everyday 24/7 around the world not just sometimes. God cant stop evil, bacause we are everything between good and evil. Not god makes live wonderful nd miserable but we do. Towards us and others. Being afraid of live being meaningless none guiding us, that is what makes religioun(and other factors) u are free when u are open to see. There is no pure good and evil. Whatever you wet thru its not your fault, you happened to be where its bad but you are grown up indipendent and you can choose to be 'good' or 'bad' in order to help u or other people so long u live. But this god, at least how christianity potrays him, is a fear in your head that prevents you at crumbling infront of the worlds truth to make this all more bearable. People should believe whatever they want as long as it gets them going. But saying all you want is the truth, and yet believing in a god as the catholic religion and you present him. You seem to scared for the truth if you are willing to leave it at that. A simple as god knows. What kind of truth are you after? Be at least honest with yourself
Hi,
These are the right questions. The problem of evil is a Big One.
In the past century, we’ve had:
two cities decimated by a nuclear bomb
hundreds of millions of people killed by their own governments (socialism is orders of magnitude worse than the holocaust)
famines that lead to parents killing and eating their own children
a global “pandemic” that governments used as a power grab, shutting down the global economy, causing millions of people to starve
And these are only the things we know. For every rape, abuse, and act of violence that is reported, there are many more that go unreported and unpunished. However, almost every rapist/abuser/theif/murder/politician is justified in their own mind. The true mark of an evil person is that they believe they are righteous, to the point where they are above any laws, and will never be sorry for anything they do.
So, in a Godless world with no objective standards, it’s anyone’s game. Evil is simply a perception; an opinion. Same with good. You can choose to believe in a random, meaningless world where Shit Just Happens and humans are the highest power. You can choose to ignore the fact that there is an undeniable order to reality, where even atheistic scientists admit the universe is so finely tuned, they have to reevaluate their own theories. (That’s actually why the multi-verse theory exists. Scientists have no solid evidence that our universe is one of infinite parallel universe. Watch this video, time stamp 43:19 where famous athiest Dawkins admits the multiverse theory has no scientific evidence.)
You can turn your back on God because He allows things you disagree with. That’s what it usually boils down to: we look at evil with our limited intelligence, perception, and imagination, and decide that because we can’t find a reason for every single instance of wrong doing, no reason can exist.
It’s like a teenager getting mad at his parents because they enforced curfew. Like a toddler raging because she was denied that fifth piece of candy. In those moments, because the child can’t comprehend their parent’s decision, the parent’s character comes into question.
This is pride and short-sightedness, especially when we’re talking about an infinite creator operating on an infinite universe over an infinite span of time.
Again, I’m not condoning or justifying evil. The question of evil and human suffering is extremely valid. And I’ve never shied away from looking at the darkest parts of humanity, because that is an important piece of understanding reality. If you do a little digging, you’ll find that this world is so much more evil that you or I could begin to comprehend. People are evil, and it’s going to continue to get worse.
In the face of such evil, it would be easier to not believe in God. (There’s a post sitting in my drafts about how I actually tried to be an athiest because I couldn’t justify evil.) So I think you’re saying that I’m not sincere when I say “search for the truth,” because from your perspective, I believe in God either out of fear, or because it gives me a false sense of comfort. While I can understand why you might think that (because this is how I used to feel about Christians) it’s simply not the case here.
No one forced these beliefs on me. I am not part of any church or denomination-- the ‘catholic’ comment is a bit out of left field. I don’t blame myself for what happened to me. I don’t blame any victim for their circumstances. Idk there’s some level of misunderstanding and too much to unpack entirely.
But, if you’re looking for real answers to the problem of evil, I’d suggest approaching The Big Man himself. I do this all the time-- when I see something absolutely horrible, I ask Him how he could possibly allow that. Sometimes, He will give you answers (if you’re willing to hear Him out) and almost every time, He will send a sense of peace. This is something you have to experience for yourself to understand.
Also, here are some debates between Atheists at the top of their field and Christians. Both sides present arguments better than I ever could, and I actually watched these videos thinking the Atheists might sway me but. Well, see for yourself:
Does God exist? William Lane Craig vs Christopher Hitchens
Richard Dawkins vs John Lennox - The God Delusion Debate
William Lane Craig and CosmicSkeptic Discuss The Kalam Cosmological Argument
(Not a debate but worth checking out) Stephen Meyer: The Return of the God Hypothesis
Would God Allow Evil? CosmicSkeptic vs InspiringPhilosophy
And here’s a muslim vs. atheist debate to round things out
Bolded my favorites. These take a few hours to get through, but if you’re really interested in the problem of evil or the proof for God, these guys present it well. (btw surprisingly there is more logical/scientific proof for God’s existence than for the athiest or pantheistic model of reality. Check out this short clip. Science and religion used to be two sides of the same coin; people took an intelligent, ordered approach to studying the universe because they believed in an intelligent, ordered creator. So God answered the “why” and science answered the “how” of existence. Just some food for thought.)
I’d also recommend you look into the biblical story of Joseph (his own brothers sold him into slavery, but because of this, Joseph ended up ruling all of Egypt and saving the very brothers who betrayed him). And also the book of Job. While we can’t know everything about the mystery of evil, we can know enough to make an informed decision about God’s existence/character.
Anyways, thank you for this message. I hope you’ll consider the information in this response. I’m glad that you are asking the hard questions, and assure you that the answers are worth seeking and finding. Good night and God bless you :)
#spiritual awakening#spiritual awareness#wow anon really dropped the whole problem of evil\#literally the biggest problem in human history#right in my ask box#i rlly did my best#also lets not forget the jesus death at the cross#arguably the ultimate evil would be to punish an innocent man for the sins of the guilty#but god did that#because to defeat death you gotta die and come back#you can only defeat the ultimate evil by subjecting yourself to it first#and because of jesus' suffering literally billions of people are living better lives and have hope for the future#again its hard to understand unless youve experienced how REAL the peace joy and good health is#all the blessings are tangible#but it starts by searching for the truth#god actually wants you to ask him the hard questions#he does not command blind faith#he reveals his character to you first and allows you to make a decision
