im a fairly new tumblr user and have been seeing all these pretty themes on my dash!

do you think you can explain how to make a theme??!

hi hi! honestly, my themes are SO BARE MINIMUM i wouldn’t even consider them themes :,)) but!!! lemme walk you through my silly lil thought process

1. i always start w a color (like what vibe do you wanna go for?? mine usually changes w holidays or the time of year — like in december i had blue n orange for winter, and now i have pink bc of valentine’s day!!)

2. i set up my whole theme around my navi so finding pretty pictures to showcase in your navi is p important imo !! i went w a simple sketch by a manga artist i love (it was in black and white but i edited it so the line work would be pink)

3. make dividers that match !! i colorpick a color from the picture in my navi and make dividers outta that

4. i change up the description of my blog to match the color of my dividers (the quote is just smth i find cute nothing too fancy here)

5. you can always add a header image, too! i used to do that but i find the no-header look to be more of my cup of tea

6. ooh also desktop themes are fun to change too but i never change it bc i refuse to put in more work than i need to on this blog. if you couldn’t tell, i’m a bare minimum gal
