celebrity!drew x assistant!reader
warnings — none other than tensionn and kissin
summary — you surprise him at one his premieres that he begged you to come to
youve been Drew's assistant for months, tasked with managing his chaotic schedule and taming the problems in his daily life. It's a wonder you haven't lost your mind yet, given the constant demands and last-minute changes that come with catering to a celebrity. But somehow, you've learned to navigate Drew's world with ease, all while maintaining a sense of calm that eludes him. It's almost comical, really, you're the epitome of organization and precision, whereas Drew is a walking disaster, always running late and anxiety driven about the next big thing.
despite your different approaches to life, you've developed an unlikely friendship with Drew over the past few months. You've grown accustomed to his anxious energy, and he's learned to appreciate your no-nonsense attitude. As the days have turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, you've begun to realize that your feelings for Drew go beyond friendship. You've tried to brush it off as a silly crush, but the truth is, you're hooked. You can't help but admire the way his eyes wrinkle at the corners when he smiles or how he stutters when he speaks to you. The problem, of course, is that Drew is a notorious playboy, always on the prowl for the next girl to pounce on. You're not naive enough to think you stand a chance.
today is the day of the premier for Onslaught, Drew's latest movie. He's been a nervous wreck all morning, pacing back and forth in front of the mirror as he preps for the red carpet. When he turns to you and says, "I don't understand why you're not coming with me," you know you have to draw a line. You can't keep enabling his dependency on you, no matter how much you care for him. So you say the one word that will likely send him into a wreck "No!" Drew's scoffs, and he storms out of the room without a word.
you have to admit that your relationship is a little inappropriate. drew latches onto you like a child does to a mother and he uses you as an anchor in everything he does because you do things so well. So you have to draw the line somewhere.
fast-forward to the premier, where Drew is currently sweating bullets during an interview. His anxiety is at an all time high, his eyes darting towards the crowd as he forces a smile onto his face. And then, suddenly, a hair on the back of his neck stands on end. He looks up, his gaze locking onto yours as you stand at the edge of the crowd, smiling brightly back at him. The camera flashes, capturing the moment, and for an instant, everyone’s eyes were on you. But It's just you and Drew, locked in this moment feeling as though you were the only two in the room.
As the interviews wrap up, you make your way over to Drew, he turns to you, asking, "You showed up. Why'd you show up?"
You take a deep breath, preparing for the aftermath of your earlier argument. "I'm really sorry, I just—" But Drew cuts you off, "Why?" He says practically demanding an answer.
"You know why," you say, winking at him.
He chuckles, shaking his head, and you both enter into the building engulfed in a room full of his colleagues. He hands you a glass of sparkling champagne. "Well, I suppose you're here now. Let's make the most of it."
As you sip your drink, taking in the atmosphere, Drew fills you in on the reactions to his movie surrounding Onslaught. His hand finds its way to your back, moving up and down in a gentle, possessive gesture that raises more than a few eyebrows among his co-stars.
Just then, a handsome stranger approaches you,"You look stunning in that black dress, miss." he says, his smile wide and his eyes inviting. "May I have the pleasure of your name?"
You feel Drew's hand squeeze your back ever so slightly before it slips off, only to graze your butt in a gentle way. The stranger's eyes flicker to Drew, who was disinterested in the stranger advances from the start, "Sorry, she's unavailable," Drew says, ushering him away.
You turn to him, with a confused on your face. "Unavailable?" you repeat.
Drew offers a downward smile and shrugs. "Yeah. And you're fired."
You're taken aback, "What? Why?" This job has been your lively hood and the biggest break you could ever imagine, it would be catastrophic for you to lose it. You start to wonder where you messed up and if it was even fixable, because his words were certain and clear.
He smirks. "Because I can't date my assistant without it being a problem." Your eyebrows shoot up, and before you can process his words, Drew leans in, capturing your lips in a kiss. His hands pull your waist closer to him, deepening the embrace. You both earn side eyes from everyone in the room but you two were far from caring.
Your hands wrap around his neck, pulling him in closer and finally He breaks the kiss, still holding your waist as he whispers in your ear, “this dress is coming off tonight.”

You will find that bad actors have a field day with people who know buzzwords but not the reason behind the buzzwords.
For example. "Blackface," can be roughly defined as "performing a caricature of a Black person usually characterized by putting on makeup and acting out mocking stereotypes." And it's not the only such critter; we also have yellowface and redface, which work on similar principles.
But wait, say TERFs, if putting on makeup to portray a member of a "different group" is bad, then being trans can be characterized as womanface, and if we know blackface is bad, then womanface must be equally bad! Checkmate!
The trick they are doing, and many of them know it, is to fix on the most visible aspect of blackface—the makeup—rather than the many aspects of the performance that make it caricatured, mocking, and wrong. It should be obvious from a fairly cursory examination that trans women, when they put on makeup, are not performing, caricaturizing, mocking, or engaging in stereotypes, which were all aspects of the definition—they are mostly trying to go to work, go on dates, order pizza, figure out whether the Marvel timeline has gotten too complicated for their give-a-fuck-o-meter, etc. However, to someone who has never thought much about blackface beyond "it's awful and bad," the argument seems at least plausible.
In fact, the makeup is probably the least crucial part of blackface, and I have seen blackface without any makeup whatsoever—because it was a cartoon. I think it is at the very end of one of the first, if not the first, Bugs Bunny cartoons featuring Elmer Fudd. (Thank you, Warner Bros, for not scrubbing your archives like those Disney cowards. You're still a vast soulless corporation but your service to historical media understanding is appreciated.) But when you're just looking at things on a very surface level, you miss things.
There's a phenomenon in left-wing circles where initially reasonable statements and concepts get repeated ad nauseum until they not only lose their meaning but transform into deeply bigoted ideas.
The idea "there is no single white culture," is true because white is a concept created to describe the powerful position in Western societies. There are many different cultures, who's members are often white. But this idea became "white people have no culture" which is just not true, deeply dehumanizing, and harmful, especially to people who look white but experience marginalization because of their culture.
Another example might be cultural appropriation, which perhaps should be understood as a misrepresentation or exploitation of the cultural practices of another, especially where the person exploiting does so for personal gain, without acknowledgment. But now, people have basically transformed this into "when somebody does something from a culture they weren't raised in" or "when a particular race or ethnicity behaves in a way that's different from how they normally do" which promotes racial and cultural stereotypes and attempts to control the behaviors of people based on their race, ethnicity, and culture.

Borrowed Skin || JJK

Summary: Something felt different about your boyfriend, Junghoon, after not seeing each other for four days, though you couldn't quite put your finger on it. Familiar gestures felt slightly foreign, shared memories were met with hesitation, and the faintest shadows of someone else lingered in his eyes. What you didn't know was that Jungkook, his twin brother, had killed your boyfriend to take his place. Hungry for a life he could never have any other way, he came up with a plan in order to claim the love he had always desired.
MASTERLIST
It was late evening, and your phone buzzed with a message from Junghoon, your boyfriend. You met a few years ago. It was like the first scene of the couple in a romantic movie, with your hands brushing momentarily as you both went to pick up the same thing in the supermarket. You could almost say it was instant, just one look and a bit of conversation, and you both knew neither wanted to move away from each other.
Everything was perfect, except for his brother, Jungkook. They were almost identical, except for the tattoos on Junghoon's arm that covered his full sleeve, which his brother didn't have. Same with their piercings. Jungkook only had a few on his ears, while Junghoon also had two on his lips.
The differences weren't only physical:
Junghoon was always the responsible one, the kind of person who double-checked plans and took pride in being dependable. He had a steady, grounded energy that made you feel safe. You loved that about him. He was attentive, but not overly sentimental, he showed his care through actions, not words. Although, lately, that side of him was also fading.
Jungkook, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. He thrived on chaos, living in the moment without thinking of consequences. He'd always been a wildcard, the kind of guy who could light up a room but also burn it down. And the kind of guy who would constantly get Junghoon in trouble constantly when they were still close.
You remembered the tension between them vividly: Junghoon often vented about Jungkook's reckless choices, saying things like, "He thinks life's a game, but it's not. One day, he's going to go too far." Jungkook would retaliate with sarcastic remarks, mocking Junghoon for being too uptight.
Their arguments weren't just sibling spats, they were deep, filled with years of unresolved jealousy and blame. It made it easy for you to tell them apart, not just in personality but even in how they carried themselves. Junghoon's calm demeanor was worlds away from Jungkook's restless energy, which always ended up with your boyfriend also being dragged in whatever problem he was in.
You sighed when reading your boyfriend's text. He had been away all weekend, he actually canceled plans with you at the last minute on Friday, which you simply shrugged off, because it wasn't the first time it happened. He always had a last minute conference for his book, a last minute presentation or interview he couldn't place.
Junghoon: What are you doing?
Y/n: I'm coming back home... Where are you?
Junghoon: I went to the gym
Y/n: You? To the gym? You hate it...
Junghoon: Yup. Thought it'd be time to give it a chance
You simply rolled your eyes, leaving your small bag at the passenger's side of your car, your lip trapped under your teeth as you looked at the screen.
Junghoon: Do you want to do something now?
Y/n: Like what?
Junghoon: Prepare some blankets and some snacks, we're cuddling until dinner time.
You were confused, but you weren't going to oppose him. You actually liked the idea of doing something together after so long.
Junghoon: I'm on my way
Y/n: Okay. I'm shopping, but I'll be there in 10. Use your keys if early
Jungkook smiled at the text looking back at him, his smirk widening at the idea of seeing you after so long, for the first time in Junghoon's skin. He had always seen you from afar, always hooked on his brother's arm, but that night things would be different.
Even if it took him erasing Junghoon from the equation and taking his place, Jungkook would be finally able to be right where he belonged: right next to you.
His heartbeat kept beating faster as he approached your building... And a question popped up: would you be able to tell he wasn't Junghoon? Or would he be able to play your boyfriend so well that you wouldn't notice?
After he parked the motorbike, he played with the keys in his hand, the item tingling in his fingers as he looked at the mailbox to confirm which one was your door.
The house was a reflection of you: warm and orderly, with small imperfections that spoke of a life lived rather than curated. He exhaled slowly, steadying the tremor in his fingers. That wasn't the first step; that had been weeks ago. But this was the moment he crossed the line, fully stepping into Junghoon's life. Into your life. Officially adopting an identity and a personality that didn't belong to him only so he'd be able to be with you.
"Love?" his voice sounded a bit deeper than usual when calling for you.
After not hearing from you after a few seconds, he assumed you didn't arrive yet and closed the door behind him. His helmet rested on the backrest of your couch as he planned on walking around. You didn't have many details in the living room, but it was obvious on the small frames placed on the shelves on both sides of your TV that you liked to make it known that house was yours. Guilt and worry held onto his chest as his eyes fell on a picture you had with Junghoon, then to a new one.
And he wondered... was he going to be able to play the perfect boyfriend his brother always was?
Before he could think any deeply about it, the door clicked behind him, and he suddenly turned to see you. Your small frame was bent more towards one side than the other, because the weight of the bags you were carrying in one hand was too heavy.
Jungkook walked to you before you could open your mouth, his hands brushing against yours and forcing him to ignore the electricity to act as normal as he could.
"Thank you, love" you whispered, closing the door.
His walk was intuitive, thanking himself for being early and taking a look around your place to know where things were. Your tracks stopped when you spotted the helmet, ignoring the rustle from the bags in the kitchen.
"What's with the helmet?" you asked confused.
For a moment, he didn't respond, his face unreadable. Then he laughed, a little too quickly, a little too loud. "Oh, that? It's not mine. It's... a friend's. He brought me on his motorbike. I've been meaning to return it."
You frowned. "A friend's?"
He shrugged, still moving inside the kitchen, knowing his lie would be caught as soon as you looked him in the eye. "Yeah, someone I met at the gym" he said, mentioning it like it was no big deal.
And it wouldn't be... if it weren't because his brother wasn't the perfect boyfriend he always showed off to be.
He assumed you'd already know everyone in Junghoon's workplace and his group of friends, adding someone in the picture from a background you didn't know of was a quick way of escaping, without any more questions.
You nodded slowly, still trying to process the oddness of it all. You didn't want to be paranoid. Hell, you promised you left behind all of your insecurities and doubts after what happened, but you couldn't help but let all of those feelings come back at you again with Junghoon's strange behavior that night. Showing up in the middle of the night, so eager to see you, with that same nervousness... It almost felt like a throwback to...
You shook your head, trying to erase those thoughts.
"Do I know this friend?" you asked, half-joking, trying to shake the strange feeling gnawing at your stomach.
He paused, the rustle of bags suddenly stopping. "I don't think so," he said lightly. "I told you it was someone from the gym."
The answer should have satisfied you, but it didn't. Something about the way he avoided any type of honesty when he spoke made your chest tighten. You didn't push further, though. You told yourself it was nothing -Junghoon was just tired. Maybe he really had changed, even in small ways. People did, right?
The rustle of the bags came back as you started making your way to the kitchen, his wide back completely eclipsing whatever he was doing on the counter. "Come on," he said, flashing you that familiar smile over his shoulder, "I'll let you pick a movie to watch until it's time for dinner."
You returned his smile, letting yourself be pulled into the comfort of the moment. Although it lasted just a short moment, because your teeth trapped your lower lip before you could even control yourself.
"Babe" you called him, getting his attention. "You know you can tell me anything, right? I mean..." you readjusted yourself in the kitchen, resting against the wall, shifting your position so you'd be able to look at him "There's no secrets between us".
Jungkook hesitated, knowing what your gaze meant. Yet, at the same time, he knew that look wasn't because you were suspicious of his fake personality. It was something else he couldn't decipher, but it made his heart shrink with a guilt he wasn't the owner of.
"I do have something to tell you" he finally said.
As much as you'd have loved to be relieved by that sentence, it made your pulse quicken. Because last time it started the exact same way.
"The helmet" he said, trying to control himself by redirecting his thoughts on the conversation "is mine. I didn't want to tell you, because it was going to be a surprise, but I'm a mess and ruined it. I've been studying to get the license" he finally admitted. "I bought a motorbike recently..."
"You did what?" you frowned. "That's..." definitely better than everything you had imagined. "Oh god, that's great" you smiled widely. "The amount of things we'll be able to do, and all the places we'll go".
Jungkook's heart fluttered at the way your expression changed, opening the door to an excited rambling with several ideas you were clearly already thinking of.
"You liked the surprise, baby?"
"Yes, yes" you nodded repeatedly. "You kept it to yourself so well, I wouldn't have seen it coming at all".
"Yeah... I thought it'd be better for all the plans I want to do with you, hmm? We could go on a small trip during your holidays, I could pick you up from work..."
"I... You didn't even hint at it. You're usually so bad at keeping secrets" you sighed, relieved at what he was keeping from you.
"It was a surprise worth of keeping from you"
"I'm happy though" you smiled at him, started to take out all the groceries you bought. "I'm happy you finally got a license. I would have rathered it to be a car, you know, it's safer. But it's great" to prolong the comfort and happiness, you turned to him with a smile, finding him supporting himself on the doorframe "It's really great" you nodded again. "You know what?"
"What, baby?"
"I bought you your favorite dessert"
He tried to hide the surprise and confusion, knowing damn well you're referring to Junghoon's. Trying to keep himself from messing it up, he opted for a neutral answer: "You're spoiling me, baby".
As he watched you pacing around the kitchen, putting all the things perfectly in the drawers, he couldn't help but notice how you seemed comfortable in his presence, unaware that he wasn't your boyfriend, a little too happy with the domestic aura it all gave. For one second, he could only feel guilty of not doing what he did earlier.
"You're not going to ask why I showed up unannounced?" he buried his face in the crook of your neck, inhaling your scent, trying to push away the guilt that gnawed at him. But at the same time, the feeling of having you in his arms was exhilarating.
"Why?" you asked softly, leaning into his body.
"I missed you" he murmured in your ear, his voice low and filled with desire. His arms tightened around your waist, pulling you closer to him.
His eyes shut close when your fingers moved up to his hair, enjoying the feeling. Your touch sent shivers down his spine, making him crave more. Instinctively his body against yours, his lips finding their way to your neck, planting soft kisses along your skin.
"I love you" he subconsciously said, with his lips attached to your scent while his hands roamed through your curves.
"Baby" you puckered your lips, touched by his words "I love you, too".
He buried his face in your hair, inhaling your scent and trying to commit it to memory, while his fingers ran through it, gently massaging your scalp as you stood there in your kitchen.
He slid his hands underneath your shirt, caressing your bare skin, making you hum at how warm he surprisingly felt. "You're so warm" you mumbled, snuggling closer.
"You feel so nice and soft in my arms" one of his hands made its way down to your thigh. "Hmm, the best" he gave your thigh a light squeeze and then slowly ran his fingers up and down the outside, moving his digits until they brushed against the hem of the fabric of your t-shirt.
"I'm glad you came" you confessed with a soft whisper.
Jungkook smiled against your shoulder, his face hiding in the crook of your neck "Why wouldn't I be here doing what I love the most?"
"Well... You always say your job is so important".
Junghoon loved you, you knew he did, but he also found a million other things more important than you, and he didn't hesitate to remind you. Now, having him behind you, his chest stuck to your back as he hugged you tight when he was supposed to be at work, you felt a warmth in your heart you hadn't felt in a long while.
"Of course it is, but you're even more important to me" he chuckled at your action, loving the way you tried to fit against his body.
You were tired of the amount of times you'd heard that same sentence on him, only to be paid dust all the time. But, somehow, those words felt so genuine that night...
"From now on, I promise I'll focus on you only. I promise" he whispered, with his lips brushing against your earlobe.
"I'm glad our arguments finally got some sense for you" you joked, although you weren't really joking.
For one second, Jungkook wondered how his brother could even think of believing anything was more important than being with you in his arms. How could Junghoon ever think of not putting you in first place?
"You don't know how much I hated those arguments, baby" he looked into your eyes when you turned your face, his gaze and tone both growing somber at the mention.
"Me, too. I hate being mad at you" you kissed his lips.
"Being mad at you was like torture. Those fights felt like hell" slowly, he made you turn on your feet, the feeling of you in his arms already making him feel better.
"What comes after those fights is worth it though" you smirked, hiding your face on his neck.
Jungkook chuckled, endeared by the way you hid how your cheeks turned a lighter shade of pink "Yeah, my clingy baby gets even clingier after our fights" he grinned and his hand rubbed up and down your thigh.
There was something about his touch, his words... or the way he was holding you like he actually wanted you that kept you pushing for more. You started kissing his cheek, but quickly moved down his jaw and throat, feeling him gulp thick under your lips.
"Mmm, baby, that feels nice" he tilted his head to the side to give you even better access to his neck.
You moved back up, your lips rubbing against his. "You like that?"
He brought his hands up to the sides of your face and pulled you closer, his lips hovering over yours, wondering if that was always how you made things up.
"Hmm" he nodded " And I think you're so cute"
He gave your nose a small kiss before kissing your lips softly, gently pulling on your lower lip with his. With every second, he deepened the kiss, gently pushing his tongue into your mouth, pulling and playing with yours. Your fingers sank deeper in his hair, flicking your tongue on his while your hands started moving down his torso. A low hum and a moan escaped his lips as he felt your fingers move, his hands sliding up and down your thighs before eventually gripping your hips. A gasp broke the kiss when you felt his hands on your hips, pressing you a bit harder against his crotch, and as you started to rock your hips against him, you felt that need for him starting to build up.
His teeth crushed on your neck, sucking at the skin to give you a mark as his hips continued to move against yours. His hands traveled down the back of your thighs, digging into your flesh as he started rolling your hips against him, slowly getting addicted to the way you felt against him. He didn't think twice, lifting your body so you were sitting on the counter.
He was left confused when you sat straight in front of him, although your smirk calmed him down almost immediately. His pulse raced up when you started taking your shirt off, his eyes falling down to your chest. His hands moved through your smooth soft skin, traveling up your sides, while his eyes shined as if that was the first time he saw you that way.
You didn't give him time to think, because you bent over to kiss him before he could. His hands were placed on either side of your neck, pulling you back down to his lips, the kiss immediately growing more and more hungry, his tongue immediately seeking access to your mouth again.
"Babe" you whispered against his lips, "what do you want?"
"You, I only want you"
"I'm all yours"
A smirk played on his lips as he heard the words fall so freely from your lips, your eagerness only fueling his hunger for you. The fact that he thought he'd never hear those words from you, and even less dedicated to him, made his head spin. His hands slide up your sides and then down again, his fingers hooking onto the waistband of your pants as he looked into your eyes
"Is that so? You're all mine and mine only?"
"Only yours" you whispered.
You didn't care about how many times you needed to confirm that, because that was the truth.
"Good girl" he groaned, those two words, so simple yet impactful, made your blood run faster through your veins.
He tugged on your pants, signaling for you to lift your hips up a bit so he could take them off, and you helped, supporting your hands on his shoulders to give him enough space to get you naked.
As his eyes traced a silent path through your body, you couldn't help but tilt your head. "Liking what you see?" your hands moved up through his shirt.
His answer, forward yet nervous, came up as if it was the most obvious answer "Shit, I love it"
You didn't need to speak for your boyfriend to help you take off his t-shirt, it was enough with the way you kept moving the black fabric up for him to follow your silent command and do as you wanted, his abs slightly flexing as you exposed him.
"When did you get so bulked up?" you curiously asked when you spotted the difference.
It was then when you realized the big toll routine had on you and your relationship, how you barely noticed the change in his body despite seeing each other almost every day.
"I've been working out a lot lately" he said, smiling nervously, watching your fingers run over his arms.
You could almost hear the pride in his tone as you touched his muscles.
Again, a pang of sadness showed up again across your brain as you realized how long it had been since you were that intimate with your boyfriend. You didn't even notice how toned he was becoming, you didn't even notice the progress as it was happening.
"I see" you chuckled, wrapping your fingers around his neck when you saw him placing himself between your legs.
He hummed and smiled as you wrapped your arms around him, his hands immediately going to your hips, gripping them and pulling you closer to him, his face in line with your neck. He nuzzled your throat, showering the skin there with light kisses.
His lips moved up to your jawline, placing small, slow kisses up your jaw, his hands grabbing your thighs and pulling you even closer, until your hips are rubbing against his again. The mere touching having you whispering in between kisses how bad you craved him, while his hands tightened their grip on your thighs at your words, your desire for him only fueling the lust and hunger for you inside him.
He attached his lips to your neck once more, gently sucking and biting the skin there while his hips rolled up as you grinded against him. The only thing that could ever stop him from devouring you was yourself, and that was exactly what happened.
He let out a soft hum as you touched his back, his hips rolling up against you again at the soft feeling of your fingers. When your digits hit his belt, a smirk played on his lips. "Do you want it off, baby?"
You nodded and you could feel his grip on your thighs loosening to give you space to move in front of him, able to drag your body down his from the counter. He watched you in awe, the movement already sending a wave of excitement through him. When looking down at you, his eyes took in every inch of your bare skin while he undid his belt buckle.
A thick groan left his lips when you played him while undressing him, your fingers barely touching his skin when taking off his dark jeans, earning him calling you a tease with a groan. Your boyfriend didn't hold back, holding your thighs to put you back against his body, the sudden move surprising you, but not letting you back off from teasing him "Yes, I'm a tease, and? You love it".
"Hmm yeah, I do. But I also love you being a good girl"
A smirk immediately plays on his lips as you weren't able to control your legs from pressing together. His hands moved down your body, caressing your bare skin. "Oh? Does someone like being called a good girl?"
It was something... new. It wasn't the type of chat you had while having sex.
He lifted your body once more, making you wrap your legs around him so you'd be steadily placed.
"Grind against me" he said in a deep tone, his hands gripping the small of your back more firmly, wanting to feel you closer.
You positioned yourself correctly enough to do what you were told, your hips almost meeting his, you could feel his hardened bulge, yet you didn't move an inch. "You want this?" you moved your hips down, rolling them for one second before moving them back up.
He took a deep breath, trying to keep his patience even at the feeling of you rolling your hips for a second, his own self-control slowly slipping out of his grasp. He gripped your hips harder, wanting to feel you against him even more "Yeah, I want this. I want you. So move against me and be a good girl for me, baby"
Clearly, you weren't going to make it so easy for him.
You bit your lip, bending over until your lips were almost touching his ear "Use the right words".
He shivered involuntarily at your whispered sentence, your breath in his ear sending another wave of excitement through him, the need to be with you growing stronger "Please, baby. Let me feel you, just move against me. You know I'm a patient man, but this is making me lose my damn mind"
"So this" you grind your hips down, moving them back up again "is making you lose your head?"
He let out a low, almost guttural groan at the slow, calculated move of your hips, the friction created by your movements driving him insane "Yeah, you're making me lose my damn mind, baby. You know what you do to me".
You licked his upper lip, your hand holding his chin before you rolled your hips back down against his.
He moaned in consequence, feeling the way you rolled your hips again, his own hips involuntarily bucking up against yours. "Baby... that's it, just keep going like that. Just a little bit more" he held back the urge to take control of your body and just take you right there, trying to keep a bit of my composure.
Although that composure didn't last long, just enough for him to take you to your bedroom.
You didn't know how or when you ended up underneath him, his body trapping yours against the mattress while his lips ghosted over yours "We're done playing now" he assured you. The air was caught in your throat when he brushed his lips against your throat. "I fucking love the way you're all mine" he groaned. "Mine only, hmm? I'll destroy whoever tries to get between us".
You gulped thick when you heard him saying that, unsure if it was just the pleasure ruling him... because he was looking deadly serious.
"What?" he called you "You like knowing that you're all mine and mine alone? You like hearing how I'll do anything to keep you all to myself?"
In three years of relationship, it was the first time you heard Junghoon being so possessive of you. Yet you didn't hate it. Not at all.
He crawled on top of you, his body trapping you beneath him. His fingers skillfully undid the clasp of your bra with a swift motion as soon as his fingertips found it. Your back arched with need as you felt the fabric caressing your skin before disappearing, and it kept folding as his lips started making their way down your body. He paused for a moment to look up at you, his eyes darkened for all the right and wrong reasons as he admired the invisible path he made from your chest to the edge of your underwear.
He held your gaze for a moment, his eyes searching for a hint of suspicion or doubt, for any sign that could make him back down. But he found none, only desire and trust. His fingers hooked into your underwear and pulled them down your legs, his eyes never leaving yours as he got you naked in front of him.
Jungkook moved back up your body, his hands trailing up your thighs as he went. He positioned himself between your legs, his lips finding your collarbone again, leaving a mark that would be difficult to hide, while his heart pounded hysterically against his chest. His desire for you and the guilt of his identity waging a silent war inside him.
But he chose to silent them.
He lifted your leg over his hip, pulling you even closer to him. His body pressed against yours, and the last remaining layers of fabric between you felt like an unbearable barrier. He nipped at your earlobe, his voice a low, demanding whisper "I fucking need you so bad".
"I need you, too"
The way your words echoed his, the way you sounded so out of breath... It all kept clouding his judgement. He knew those words were dedicated to someone else, he knew your body was craving Junghoon, but the thought of his touch exciting you like that only made him growl deep in his throat.
His lips reached the apex of your thighs as he started moving down, pausing for a moment as he looked up at you. Your face was flushed with desire, your eyes darkened with need. He took a moment to memorize the sight before he gave in completely to his desires. Giving you one last look, he bent enough to sink his mouth sensually among your folds, the contact making you hum in pleasure almost instantly.
He ran his tongue over you, savoring the taste of you in his mouth. Your body writhed beneath his touch, your moans and gasps filling the room.. the combination of it all causing his chest to puff with pride, while his tongue dived deeper in you to get a better taste. Jungkook lost himself in you, driven by the overwhelming need to make you his, to make everything he had always dreamed of a reality.
Your moans, the sight of you, your reaction to his touch... it all drove him crazy with a primal need to possess you, to make you his in every way he had thought of ever since Junghoon introduced you to the family. He delved deeper, his tongue exploring you with a fervor that bordered on desperate. Jungkook craved more of those sounds, those sensations, those reactions.
You almost couldn't recognize yourself. The passion, the way your boyfriend was giving himself to you, the way he was sinking his mouth in you as if he wanted to eat you whole and then eat you again. You swore he made you let out sounds you haven't heard on yourself ever before.
"Baby, I need you" you moaned, almost with a plea.
Your words, the need in your voice, the way your body responded to him -it was like fuel to the fire. He wanted -no, he needed- to give you what you were asking for.
Licking your clit one last time, he moved up your body, making sure he showered with kisses every centimeter on the way to your face. Jungkook positioned himself between your legs again, his eyes holding your gaze. His fingers brushed against you, teasing, but never quite giving you what you want. His voice was a low, almost desperate plea:
"Are you ready for me, baby?"
You dedicated him a soft smile, before you nodded and placed your hands on his shoulders "Always".
Your answer, the look on your face -it teared away the last shred of restraint he had. With one movement of his head, he motioned you to get a condom, which you reached effortlessly at the bedside table to hand it to him so he'd wrap himself on the latex.
His lips claimed your mouth in a deep kiss, while his length slid into you with one movement, filling you completely. It was strange, but he felt like coming home, finally being where he belonged.
For a second, the guilt installed in his brain, reminding him of what he was doing, of the place he was taking over, but how quickly you pulled from his neck and how you linked your lips together worked to get him back to the only thing that mattered: you.
You broke the kiss, moaning when he started moving, a low giggle adorning the room and making Jungkook the weakest he had ever felt. "Fuck, you feel bigger".
He couldn't help but smirk at your words, the need to hear more, to make you feel even more driving him forward. He lifted your leg over his waist again, his lips finding your ear as he murmured: "Is that a good thing, baby? Does it feel good?"
"So fucking good" you closed your eyes, dropping your head back.
He didn't know how long he stayed moving while just looking at you, drinking up all of your reactions, memorizing every small detail on your face with every new wave of pleasure, or the way your nails digged on his skin whenever he angled his hips to reach the right spot. You were so hypnotizing and addictive.
He was done being a viewer, he was the main character of the most devoted love story to ever exist.
Hearing you moan like that, hearing how good he made you feel, pushed him even closer to the edge. Jungkook bit down on your shoulder, just enough to leave a mark, as he tried to hang on just a bit longer. He picked up the pace, driving into you deeper, harder, his eyes fixed on your face, ready for the smallest sign to give you everything you could ask for.
When you opened your eyes, you didn't recognize the dark look in your boyfriend's eyes as he crashed into you, his pace was relentless, like he had been deprived from touching you for years.
Your hands moved instantly to his wrists, trying to find some stability as your body kept bouncing harder against the mattress. Jungkook intertwined his fingers with yours, holding onto you as if he never wanted to let go. He could feel your body responding to his, and could see how close you were.
"Give it to me, baby. Give me everything you have" he asked softly, your hands moving to each side of your head as his body bent over to cover yours.
He held your gaze, he took care of your body, and he walked with you to your high to make sure you wouldn't miss a single beat. Until you both turned into one, your bodies being a mix of shivers and electricity.
Jungkook held you tight, only letting go of your hands to wrap his arms around you and sink his face on the curve of your neck to inhale your scent. You were so his that it physically hurted.
"That was..." you thought for a few seconds, trying to come up with a word "new".
Jungkook curiously moved back to look into your eyes "New? In a good sense?"
"Yeah... Yeah" you nodded, huffing a laugh "Different, in a good sense though. It's just that..." you started to explain, feeling a bit nervous "you're usually so soft and slow, and careful and delicate".
"Am I?" Jungkook lifted his eyebrow, trying to wonder if he allowed his own needs to take control of himself and risk getting exposed. "I just got carried away. I'm sorry if I hurted you".
"Hoon, I've been asking you to be a bit rougher for months" you chuckled "Why are you apologizing? I liked it" while speaking, you tilted your head, looking at him "Maybe we should get even freakier next time".
For a second, Jungkook's lip twitched at hearing his brother's name on your lips, but he recomposed quickly after, letting a smirk be drawn on his face.
"You felt like a completely different person" you chuckled "I liked it".
Jungkook pecked your lips quickly, trying to get rid of the idea that he was indeed a different person.
"Shall we get something for dinner?" he casually asked, hugging you tight in his arms. He stretched his legs lazily, moving his face down to look at you, his lips curling into a satisfied smile. "How about we order something for dinner? I'm starving."
You blinked, surprised. "Order something? You usually insist on cooking after..." you trailed off, cheeks warming.
He tilted his head, the playful grin never faltering. "Figured I'd give us both a break. Besides, my cooking could use a little variety."
Junghoon always prided himself on his cooking, especially after moments like these. It was his way of grounding himself, of caring for you. Still, you shrugged off the unease. He probably was just trying to be thoughtful in a different way.
"What are you in the mood for?" you asked, shifting to grab your phone.
"Anything but Chinese food," he replied quickly. Too quickly.
Your fingers paused mid-air. "But...you love Chinese food."
Jungkook stopped, trying to think of what to say to get away from his own mess.
He hesitated, barely perceptibly, before chuckling. "Right. I meant, I've had enough of it lately. Craving something else."
You nodded slowly, letting it slide, but a faint buzz of doubt lingered in the back of your mind. As you scrolled through the menu options, he got up, moving to his pants on the floor.
His movements were fluid, confident, but lacked the familiarity you'd always known. The way he grabbed the fabric and tossed it on: it wasn't the usual meticulous way Junghoon folded and set aside his clothes.
"Pizza?" he suggested, his voice easy, casual. "Something simple."
Your lips curved into a small smile despite the growing doubts. "Sure, pizza sounds good."
As you placed the order, you caught a glimpse of his reflection in the mirror. He was looking at you, but there was something in his eyes -a hunger, an intensity- that didn't belong to Junghoon. You shook your head, telling yourself it was all in your imagination.
After slipping into your clothes, the two of you left the room, the warm glow of the moment still lingering in the air. Junghoon walked beside you, his arm brushing yours occasionally as you both made your way to the living room.
"What time should the food get here?" he asked, glancing at you.
"About thirty minutes," you replied, checking the confirmation on your phone. "Plenty of time to relax."
Jungkook moved first, wrapping his arm around your waist to drag you with him over the couch, making sure both of you falled over it, your body almost over his lap, as he cuddled you tight. Something so simple as that had you instantly feeling better, instantly forgetting about any doubts or insecurities, vanishing that sense of unease and anxiety, to welcome comfort and love.
You didn't realize, but you started rubbing your cheek against his chest, while your hands held tight on his arms, your eyes closed while you allowed his scent fill your nostrils.
You were tired of being suspicious, and always ending on the worst of the conclusions, because small changes didn't always have to be for the worst.
If that was the first night of a new phase of your relationship, you'd gladly take it.
And something in him moved at your reaction. He was convinced he'd make you a million times happier than his brother ever did. It was as if the universe was telling him you were always meant to end up with him, because you molded together perfectly.
He, and only him, was everything you ever wanted, and he'd make sure he'd be the only thing you'd ever want.

hcs for the daredevil guys and when you argue??
mmm yes angst
matt murdock
matt is only willing to engage in verbal combat over one thing and one thing only: your safety
he has a lot of priorities - his religion, his jobs, justice, his friends - but nothing, and i mean nothing will come above you
you and matt have differing opinions on what you consider to be putting yourself in danger. in his mind, just going out after dark is basically putting a target on your back.
it doesn't take a lot to come to blows because matt cares just too damn much. he won't ever budge on the matter, and he won't yell either
no matter how much you push and prod and press at his buttons, he's stoic on the matter. snappy and huffy maybe, but it's like trying to argue with a brick wall.
you know it's because he cares but hell, it's annoying when you can't go out after dark to get some ice cream from the shop that's literally on your block.
it's not until after, when you've stomped off to bed with your back turned to the door, and matt slips in beside you; despite your best attempts to block him, his arms will snake round your back and pull you to his chest with a soft kiss to the neck
"i just can't lose you"
the argument doesn't last much longer after that
frank castle
you and frank bicker about 25 times a day. only 20 of those times are about him leaving the toilet seat up.
arguing, though?? that actually doesn't happen a lot. even though frank's fuse is shorter than danny devito, he has never once even come close to losing his temper with you
in fact, one time you tried to start an argument with you and frank just laughed. he laughed, because really you own his ass and anything that could lead to a fight just isn't worth it to him
so maybe it means that frank sometimes loses a compromise, but it doesn't matter to him because it's meant that you're happy
and really, that's the most important thing. frank has lost everyone he's loved this far in his life and so he will do literally anything to make sure that when you leave for work in the morning, you're on good terms. just in case - and god forbid - anything happens.
frank isn't even embarrassed by the fact he will keel over so easily for you
actually, he's quite proud of it

drew starkey x fem!reader

WARNINGS: angst to fluff, fighting, crying, mentions of breaking up, long distance relationship, like one (?) curse word, brief mention of cheating rumours (made by the media) and i think that’s it? (lmk if i missed anything !!)
WORD COUNT: 1.8k
THIRD PERSON +
Y/N stared out at the crashing waves outside her beachfront rental in Australia, the sun dipping low in a painted sky of reds and golds. Normally, she would've snapped a picture to send Drew, knowing how much he loved sunsets. But tonight, her phone sat abandoned on the kitchen counter, vibrating occasionally with notifications she couldn't bring herself to check.
It had been nearly six months since she'd left for Australia to film her new movie, a dream opportunity that she'd accepted with boundless enthusiasm. Drew had been so supportive at first, kissing her forehead and promising her they'd figure it out. "Eight months will fly by," he'd said. "We'll make it work." And for a while, they had.
The first few months had been manageable—late-night FaceTime calls, text messages scattered throughout the day, photos exchanged to make each other smile. But as the weeks turned into months, the strain started to show. The time difference, their conflicting schedules, and the exhaustion from their respective work had turned their once-effortless connection into something fragmented and brittle.
And then there were the rumors.
The first article had popped up about a month ago, with pictures of Y/N and her co-star, Paul Mescal, leaving a restaurant. They'd been with a group of castmates, but the tabloids didn't care about context. The angle made it look intimate, as if the two of them had been alone. Headlines screamed: "New Flame on Set?" and "Trouble in Paradise for Drew Starkey and Y/N?"
Drew hadn't believed the rumors—not really. He knew how tabloids worked. But the seed of doubt had been planted. Their conversations became laced with tension. "Why didn't you tell me you were going out?" Drew had asked one night, his voice tight.
"I didn't think I had to give you a play-by-play of my day," she'd snapped, the exhaustion from a grueling shoot making her sharper than she intended.
"I'm not asking for a play-by-play, Y/N. I just want to know what's going on in your life. Is that too much to ask?"
The fight spiraled from there, unresolved, and left a bitter taste that lingered.
Tonight, their most recent argument had pushed them to a breaking point.
She answered the phone after his third call, her voice strained. "Hey."
"Hey," Drew replied, the weight of unspoken words heavy in the silence that followed.
"I'm sorry I didn't call earlier," she began, trying to preempt his frustration. "I got caught up on set, and—"
"Y/N, you always get caught up on set," Drew interrupted, his tone clipped. "I'm starting to feel like I'm not a priority anymore."
Her heart sank. "That's not fair."
"Isn't it? Because it feels like I'm the only one trying here."
"Trying?" she repeated, her voice rising. "Drew, do you know how hard this has been for me too? I miss you every single day, but I can't just drop everything to cater to your insecurities."
"Insecurities?" he echoed, incredulous. "You're calling me insecure because I want to spend more than five minutes talking to my girlfriend? Because I'm tired of feeling like I'm the last thing on your mind?"
"Don't do this," she pleaded, her voice breaking. "Don't twist this into something it's not."
"Then tell me what it is, Y/N," he shot back. "Because right now, it feels like we're falling apart."
Her throat tightened. "Maybe we are," she whispered, the words slipping out before she could stop them.
The silence that followed was deafening.
Drew exhaled shakily on the other end of the line. "Do you really believe that?"
"I don't know what I believe anymore," she admitted, tears streaming down her face. "This... this isn't what I thought it would be. I didn't think it would hurt this much."
"You think I don't hurt too?" His voice cracked, raw with emotion. "You think I don't lie awake every night wishing you were here? That I don't feel like I'm losing my mind wondering if this is worth it anymore?"
Her chest tightened painfully, but she couldn't find the words to soothe him. To soothe herself. The weight of their love—their pain—pressed down on her like a crushing wave.
"I can't do this right now," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah," Drew said bitterly, "of course you can't."
And then the line went dead.
Y/N stared at the screen, her hand trembling as the call ended. She wanted to call him back, to take it all back, but the words hung in the air between them, too heavy to ignore.
Halfway across the world in Charleston, Drew sat in his apartment, his phone clutched in his hand. He stared at the empty screen, the echo of their fight replaying in his mind. The silence in the room was deafening, the loneliness suffocating.
They were both alone, yet they'd never felt further apart.
—
Drew sat on set, legs stretched out as he leaned back in his chair, absentmindedly scrolling through his phone. The day had been slow, and while he loved working on Outer Banks, his mind wasn't fully there. It hadn't been for weeks. The weight of his argument with Y/N lingered, the harsh words and silence that followed gnawing at him.
He sighed, locking his phone and tossing it onto the nearby table. The OBX cast was scattered around the set, some chatting, others grabbing snacks. Madelyn, Madison and Carlacia were huddled together near the craft services table, giggling about something. Their sudden burst of laughter caught Drew's attention.
"What's so funny?" he called out, raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing!" Madison replied quickly, a little too quickly. She nudged Carlacia, who bit her lip to stifle another laugh.
Suspicious, Drew tilted his head but didn't press further. He wasn't in the mood for their antics today. As much as he loved his friends, all he really wanted was Y/N. Six months apart felt like an eternity, and knowing they still had two more months to go made the ache in his chest worse.
What he didn't know was that Y/N was only minutes away.
Y/N stepped off the plane, her heart pounding as she adjusted her bag on her shoulder. She had managed to keep the wrap of her film a secret from Drew, wanting to surprise him in the best way possible. It hadn't been easy; she'd had to bite her tongue during their rare phone calls and carefully avoid social media posts that might tip him off.
Madelyn, Madison and Carlacia had been the first people she told about her plan, and they had been more than happy to help. When she landed, they were waiting for her, practically vibrating with excitement.
"You ready to blow his mind?" Madelyn asked, grinning as she pulled Y/N into a hug.
"I've never been more ready," Y/N said, her nerves and excitement warring within her.
Carlacia held up her phone, ready to document everything. "Okay, we've got this all planned. He's sitting in the main lounge area. You just walk in, and we'll follow behind you."
Y/N nodded, exhaling shakily. "Let's do this."
Back on set, Drew was oblivious. The girls had disappeared somewhere, but he didn't think much of it. They were always running off to do their own thing. He leaned forward, rubbing his hands over his face as exhaustion crept in.
The sound of footsteps approaching barely registered until he heard a familiar voice, soft and hesitant.
"Hey, Starkey."
Drew's head whipped around so fast that his chair tipped backward, clattering to the floor. He stumbled to his feet, his heart racing as his eyes locked on her.
"Y/N?" His voice cracked, disbelief written all over his face.
Before she could say another word, Drew launched himself toward her, nearly tripping over his fallen chair in his haste. He reached her in seconds, his arms wrapping tightly around her as he lifted her off the ground.
"Y/N," he choked out, his voice breaking as he buried his face in her shoulder.
She clung to him just as tightly, her arms wrapped around his neck as tears spilled down her cheeks. "Hi, baby," she whispered, her voice shaking.
Drew pulled back just enough to look at her, his face streaked with tears. "You're here? How are you here? I thought—"
"My shoot wrapped early," she interrupted, laughing through her tears. "I wanted to surprise you."
Drew didn't hesitate. He leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss so full of love and longing that it made Y/N's knees weak. Around them, the cast erupted in exaggerated groans and laughter.
"Get a room!" Rudy teased, shielding his eyes dramatically.
"Y'all are gonna make me cry," Carlacia joked, still filming the entire moment.
When Drew finally pulled away, his forehead rested against Y/N's, his tears falling freely now. "God, I missed you," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I missed you so fucking much."
"I missed you too," Y/N said, her hands cupping his face as she brushed away his tears. "I'm so sorry, Drew. For everything. For the fight, for the silence. I hated it. I hated being apart from you."
"Me too," Drew admitted, his voice cracking again. "I was so scared, Y/N. Scared I was losing you."
"Never," she said firmly. "I was scared too, but I never stopped loving you. Not for a second."
Drew let out a shaky laugh, his arms tightening around her as if he were afraid she might disappear. "Waiting ain't easy," he said softly, his eyes searching hers, "but it's worth it for you. Always."
Y/N felt fresh tears well up as she kissed him again, pouring every ounce of love and reassurance she had into it. When they finally broke apart, the cast was clapping and cheering, much to Drew's embarrassment.
"Alright, alright, show's over," Drew said, his cheeks flushed as he waved them off. But he couldn't stop smiling, and his hand never left Y/N's.
Carlacia walked up, showing them the video she had taken. "You two are gonna want this later. It's a tearjerker."
Drew chuckled, pulling Y/N closer. "Thanks, Laci."
As the cast gave them some space, Drew turned to Y/N, his eyes still glistening. "You're really here," he said again, as if he couldn't quite believe it.
"I'm here," she confirmed, her smile soft. "And I'm not going anywhere."
Drew's expression softened, his love for her radiating in his gaze. "Good. Because I don't ever want to do this without you again."
They spent the rest of the day glued to each other, catching up, apologising, and soaking in every second of finally being together again.
For the first time in six months, everything felt right.

congratulations. you said something so stupid it actually made me get up so i can type on a keyboard instead of my phone.
photography is not "art that can be made with 'very little effort.'" if photography is just "the push of a button," then a pencil sketch is "just a couple of lines." the fact that you simplify photography this much is already making your argument vapid, but ill give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you just, werent thinking clearly. exposure time, depth of field, differences in camera lens, lighting quality, lighting contrast, lighting colors, waiting for a certain time of day, picking the right subject, the right angle to capture the subject from. it is not "the click of a button." initially, photography was a process that took a *long* time. exposures would last from 5 minutes to half an hour.
every example you gave of using generative AI iN A MOrAl WAy is still the fucking thing making something for you instead of you putting in any effort to try and collage it yourself. no, it is not the same as looking through a stock photo site. i dont know how many times i have to explain this- THE FUCKING AI IS DRAWING SOMETHING FOR YOU. just because "ouuhh its just a widdle part of the background!!!" doesnt mean it didnt literally pull data from hundreds of thousands of millions of images online just to mash them together especially for you. like i dont know how this isnt a concept you can visualize. there is an explicit difference between transforming content you find online, and asking a robot to do it for you.
imagine the world was made of pudding. you can imagine a lot of things- do a single thing to make it a reality. find a single option out there that even remotely does what you're referring to.
....? is this really the angle you're going for? "uumhmm, theres actually even LESS eithical ways of doing art!! so...ai really isnt that bad!!!!" like, sincerely?
"where do we draw the line" it's pretty fucking simple. when the robot draws the thing for you, you're no longer putting your own will into the creation- why would anyone put their own will into looking at or interacting with it.
i literally dont care what your excuse for using AI is. if you didnt put your own effort into making it im not putting my own effort into interacting with it.
#utter dunce#please do me a favor and DONT respond regardless of how aggressive you perceive this reply#i cannot stand you people in my notifs

TOO LATE
daniela avanzini x fem!reader
summary: after breaking up with dani a few weeks ago, she repeatedly tries to get in contact with you. ultimately, you end up doing multiple things you thought you would never do
warnings/tags: angst, language, dealer!dani au, happy ending (yay!), nsfw content, more probably im sorry
wc: 4,9 k
part 1 | too late (alternate ending)
minors dni
a gentle reminder that everything i post is fiction. none of this depicts the real people in what i write, this is all for fun. and i took what a few different anons suggested into consideration for both this ending and the alternate ending :]
it had been a few weeks since the incident with dani. you hadn't gone back to the apartment since then, despite all your things being there. you knew she would be there no matter what time of the day you went, that was one of the benefits of being a dealer as a job, you didn't really have a job.
you stayed with sophia for the time being, who was the one who initially brought the possibility of dani cheating on you. you felt bad the longer you stayed at her place, but she kept telling you that it was fine, that that's what best friends do for each other.
it was obvious you weren't feeling okay after it all went down. you would mainly stare at nothing or your phone lockscreen that you had yet to change. you didn't really leave unless sophia dragged you out to go somewhere. you couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks.
“we should go get your stuff today,”
you glance over at sophia who's cooking from your seat on the stool at the kitchen island, eyebrows raising in surprise. “what?”
“well, you still haven't stopped by the apartment,” she says, hearing the shock in your voice and continuing. “i know you don't want to but you have to if you really want to officiate it as a breakup. you need your things.” she says slowly, choosing her words carefully to not upset you.
you look back down at the kitchen island, mumbling in response. “i guess.”
sophia lets out a short sigh, turning off the stove and walking over to you. she reaches for your hands, grabbing ahold of them causing you to look up at her. “i know it's hard, yn. but you can't just not have your stuff. i know what you're thinking, that she's more likely going to be there than not, but i’ll go with you, okay?” she says softly, her thumb gently rubbing circles on your hands. “and then, i want you to do something.”
you can hear her tone change at her last sentence, and you look at her confused. “what do you mean?”
“i’ll tell you after we get your things.”
within the hour, you were standing outside the apartment with sophia next to you. it was roughly ten in the morning, and you held the key in your shaking hand, hesitating to unlock the door.
“soph i don't think this is a good idea,” you say, lowering your hand. “i don't want another argument right now.”
“it’ll be fine, you’ll be fine,” sophia responds, sending a warm smile your way and squeezing your other hand reassuringly.
meekly nodding your head, you slowly unlock the door and walk inside. instantly, you're hit with the smell of smoke, making your eyes squint slightly trying to adjust to the hazy fog-like atmosphere in the apartment. great.
“is it always like this?” sophia mumbles quietly.
all you do is shake your head in response, walking into the living room and seeing the mess scattered on the coffee table. your first instinct is to clean it up and scold dani for making a mess on the expensive table, but the second you reach your hand out, sophia grabs it and pulls you back.
“we're here to get your things, that's it,” she tells you again.
“right,” you say quietly.
you make your way to the bedroom door, quietly opening the door and immediately freezing in your spot. you knew she would be here, that was obvious. but the sight of her is what stopped you.
she was sleeping, probably for the first time since it happened judging by the dark bags under her eyes that clearly weren't there before. looking at sophia, you take the duffel bag from her. “you can wait outside, i’ll be fine,” you say to her. she gives you a look, but nods her head and walks out of the apartment, leaving you in the room. you take a few steps into the room, and dani starts stirring around, rolling over and groggily opening her eyes. “yn?” she mumbles softly, half awake barely able to make out your face.
“go back to sleep, dani,” you say quietly, pulling the blanket over her. your eyes linger on her for a moment, watching her eyes close again as she mumbles something.
you go to the closet and open it, starting to grab your clothes and putting them in the bag. when you finish with your clothes, you head into the bathroom, stopping in front of the mirror. nothing had been moved since you left. everything was beside each other like it had always been, even the toothbrushes that were sitting in their stands. you don't even hear footsteps approaching as you stare mindlessly, feeling regret bubbling up inside you as your brain goes through everything that happened.
suddenly, a pair of arms wrap around your waist from behind, and you jump, turning around to see a tired daniela.
“you're really here?” she mumbles quietly.
“dani-” you start, but you're cut off by her gently pushing you against the sink and putting her face in the crook of your neck.
“‘m sorry,” she mutters into your skin. “‘m so sorry, please don't leave. please, yn,”
“dani,” you try to say as sternly as you can. “we aren't discussing this.”
dani pulls her head from your neck, looking down at you as her hands move up to cup your face. “please,” she whispers. “please,” she reiterates, leaning closer to you, her lips inches away from yours. “just give me a chance.”
your eyes meet her red bloodshot ones staring back at you, and you feel your throat close up. you can tell how upset she is and her genuinely being sorry, and it has you wanting to forgive her. but, she hasn't nearly felt like you did the past few months, which has been implemented into your mind by sophia who had seen you almost every day throughout it. “you know i can't do that,” your voice is quiet as you speak.
“i love you,” her voice cracks as her hands cradle your face. “wh-what do you want me to do? i’ll do anything you want, please.”
“there's nothing you can do right now,” you answer, though you’re not sure you believe yourself. “please just-”
you're cut off by daniela pressing her lips against yours. its the softest she's ever kissed you, as if she was worried you would break under her touch. you can practically feel the regret seeping from her as she kisses you, pouring all her heart and emotion into it. your hands grasp her shoulders and pry her away from you, looking at her. “dani, you have to let me leave. sophia is waiting outside and she's pissed off enough as is, i don't want her to start an argument with you,” you tell her.
“sophia?” dani’s face contorts into confusion. “you-you're not- are you?” she can't even get the words out, the thought making her want to throw up. it was obvious for a while now that the filipino girl had feelings for you, though you were either too blind to notice or just ignored it. but, what happened in the past couple of weeks?
“it doesn't matter, daniela,” you shake your head, gently pushing her away from you. “it should be nothing new for you, right?” you turn around and start grabbing your things, putting them in the bag.
the comment you make has dani looking down at the ground, knowing better than to try and counter it like she normally would. “i’m sorry,” she says.
“you can apologize as many times as you want, but it's not going to do anything,” you zip up the bag and turn back around to face her. “you can-” you stop yourself from continuing, shaking your head and walking past her out the bathroom.
“yn, please,” she follows every step you take towards the front door. “please just give me five minutes to talk to you, please.”
“i’m sorry, dani,” you say once reaching the door, pulling it open and walking out. you close the door behind you, half expecting her to follow you outside as well, but even after standing there for a minute, the door doesn't open.
you walk back to the car where sophia is waiting, and she stands up straight when she sees your expression.
“what happened?” she instantly questions.
“nothing,” you shake your head, putting the bag in the backseat and looking at sophia. “i just want to go back. i don't think i’ll last another minute here.”
“okay,” sophia nods, opening the passenger door and letting you get in before closing it.
…
“you want me to do what?” you stare at sophia with wide eyes. “i’m-i’m not doing that!” you shake your head quickly.
“yn, listen to me,” sophia says in a stern voice. “you know this is for the best.”
“no!” you continue to shake your head, standing up off the couch. “i am not calling the police on her! she's dealt with enough shit these past weeks.”
“and you’ve dealt with far more in the last months,” sophia says, standing when you do.
“i’m still not doing it!” you exclaim. “why-why would you even bring that up?”
“because we both know she should've been gone a while ago,” sophia answers.
“no, you think she should be gone!” you retort. “i know you’ve never liked her, but that does not mean you are going to convince me to call the cops! i-”
“still love her, i know,” sophia’s tone shifts slightly, but enough for you to notice. “you need to get over it.”
“get over it?!” you look at her like she's crazy. “this is two years of my life that have been wasted, sophia! i can't just ‘get over it’ like it's nothing! for two years i have loved her and now it's all gone! do you understand? i can't just get over it within a few weeks,” you fail to ignore the way she's taking steps towards you, too busy ranting angrily until she stops in front of you and tilts your head up to look at her with one hand.
“i’m sorry,” she says softly. “you know i care about you, i just don't want you to get more hurt than you already are,” she pushes some of your hair out of your face.
you can see the way her eyes flicker down and back up to your eyes, and you freeze in realization. “soph-”
“give me one week and i can prove you can get over her,” she cuts you off with this, her voice quiet.
she's serious, you can tell, which only makes you more nervous as you try to think of a response. part of you thinks you shouldn't do it, but a bigger part of you doesn't care.
“okay.”
…
you can't believe you're doing this. another week has passed, and somehow sophia has managed to convince you to get the police involved. you rub your temples as you sit in your car in front of the apartment, mentally praying this doesn't blow up in your face. it’s supposed to be easy, barely an inconvenience according to sophia. just go inside, see if dani is there, make a quick text and it's done. taking a deep breath, you get out of the car and walk up to the front door.
you knock on the door a few times, despite still having the key and could just walk up inside the place. you stand there for a minute or two, and you’re about to turn around and give up when the door unlocks and opens, there standing daniela.
“yn,” dani lets out in a single breath. to say she didn't expect you would be an understatement, for she thought you would be gone after the last time.
“can i come in?” you ask hesitantly.
“yeah, yeah,” she nods quickly, opening the door wider for you to walk in.
as soon as you walk in, you’re hit with an unfamiliar smell. lavender? odd. you raise an eyebrow as you step into the living room, seeing the place cleaned up since the last time you were there. the coffee table was clean of the former ash marks on it, the ceiling fan no longer held fuzz due to the smoke, the kitchen looked the best it had in over a year. you couldn't hide your surprise as you looked around.
“you really cleaned up,” you say.
“i tried,” dani mumbles. “i-i knew that you wouldn't like the mess i left…if you came back,” her voice is so quiet you can hardly hear what she's saying, but you do.
she was hoping for you to come back. she wouldn't have cleaned the place otherwise. she was right too, you would be upset with the mess she made a week ago. you look at the walls and see the pictures are still up, and you feel a tug on your heart as you look over them. god, you were starting to feel bad now. but, you had a plan. hopefully it would work out.
“dani-”
“wait,” she cuts you off suddenly. “i have something to give you,” she says before walking off into the bedroom.
you take your phone out of your pocket and send the message, quickly putting it back away when dani walks back into the living room with a bag in her hands. you look at her with confusion as she hands it over to you. taking the bag, you open it and look inside, reaching in and pulling out a book. your confusion grows bigger until you open the first page, and you realize what it is. it's a scrapbook, poorly made which means she did it herself, of every picture you two took over the two years. “dani…” you say quietly.
“you don't have to say anything,” dani says, looking down at the ground. “i just wanted to make sure you got it before…y’know…you leave officially.” she mumbles the last bit.
closing the book, you set it and the bag down, taking a few steps towards her and grabbing her hands causing her to look at you. “i’m not leaving,” you whisper, seeing her eyes widen. “but you have to listen to me very carefully right now.” your voice turns serious, which has dani looking at you with confusion. “the police are on their way, but dani, you have to-”
“what?!” daniela lets out in surprise. “wh-what the hell do you mean?!”
“dani, just listen to me,” you grab her shoulders firmly. “you haven't moved the stash in the safe, have you?”
“n-no,” dani shakes her head, clearly starting to panic as the sound of sirens gets louder. “yn, i can-i can't go to jail-”
“you’ll be there for a few days max,” you tell her, cutting her off of the beginning of her rant. “i'll keep everything going for you, don't worry. i'll get you out as soon as the bail is posted, okay? you're gonna be fine, i promise.”
daniela keeps shaking her head, her body trembling as she tries to keep calm. “i can't do this, i can't-”
“yes you can,” you say, holding her face in your hands. “you're going to be okay, i promise,” you tell her again. “just don't say anything to anyone, don't look at anyone. you’ll be out as soon as possible, okay?”
“okay,” dani nods slowly.
“i love you, okay? i haven't stopped loving you for one day,” you say, pecking her lips as the front door bursts open. “don't do anything stupid. i’ll be waiting for you.”
you somehow manage to keep relatively calm as you watch the police take her out of the apartment, seeing the look in her eyes as the car door slams shut. once you get back into the apartment with your bag of things, you toss it onto the couch and quickly go into the bedroom closet.
pulling out the safe, you type in the passcode and it unlocks and opens, revealing the large sum of money you told dani to start saving just in case something like this happened. you take out the stacks of green bills, putting them on the bed and sitting down, starting to count it.
…
the bail ended up costing almost everything in the safe, which both surprised you and didn't at the same time. you knew l.a. was insane with their charges, so it wasn't that big of a surprise. the bigger surprise, and funnier one, was the look on the authorities' faces when you handed over the bag of all the cash, who all stared at you with wide eyes counting every dollar. you had to sit and wait for an hour or two while they counted, but eventually they finished and told you it was enough, and that it would take a few days to process.
just like you’d promised, within the week you were standing outside the gate of the jail, leaning against your car waiting. you’re looking at your phone when you hear a loud buzzing noise, making you look up. a smile immediately curls on your lips and you stand up straight, putting your phone away watching the officer open the gate.
you watch as daniela slowly walks over to you, holding her bag of things she had on her when they took her. your arms instantly wrap around her when she's close enough, pulling her into your embrace as she puts her face in your neck.
“are you okay?” you ask quietly, running your hand through her curly hair.
“yeah,” she mumbles into your neck. “‘m just tired. the beds are rock hard.”
“i’m sure,” you nod, not moving. “you wanna get something to eat and then head back home?”
‘home’, dani’s brain repeats that word multiple times hearing you say it so casually after the hell that’s been this last month. you’re talking to her like nothing happened, and she doesn't know how to feel about it. there's still an immense amount of guilt she feels even after you telling her you didn't stop loving her. she still regrets everything she stupidly did.
“yeah,” she answers quietly after a long minute of silence.
…
walking into the apartment, you toss your keys on the dining room table, running a hand through your hair and letting out a quiet sigh. just one step inside the place and you’ve felt more relaxed than you have been in the months leading up to this. dani sets the rest of the food on the table and walks up to you, wrapping her arms around your waist from behind and pulling you close to her.
“i’m sorry,” she says in a murmur.
“dani, please don't-”
“listen to me, please,” she pleads before you can say anything else. “i…i know i fucked up, and i’m so sorry for everything i put you through. i can't say i know why i did it because i don't. all i c-can do now is apologize a-and apologize hoping you’ll s-stay. i’m r-really sorry, yn. i-i-” she starts stuttering over her words, tears welling in her eyes trying to keep herself from crying.
you turn around the second you hear her voice crack, seeing the tears brimming in her eyes and you cup her cheeks in your hands. “dani, breathe. it's okay, i’m not going anywhere. you don't have to worry, okay? i’m staying.”
“you are?” she asks, her voice cracking as a few tears fall from her eyes.
“yeah,” you nod your head, wiping the tears from her eyes with your thumbs. “i promise.”
as soon as those words leave your mouth, daniela is pressing her lips against you with so much energy you have to take a step back to try and steady yourself. her grip on your waist tightens ever so slightly as you kiss back, your hands tangling in her hair. she bites on your lower lip gently, pushing her tongue inside when you part your lips for her, a little moan coming from you at the action. when she pulls away, she's looking at you with a dazed, dark look in her eyes.
she doesn't say anything as she picks you up by your thighs, a yelp of surprise leaving your mouth as she walks over to the bedroom. laying you down on the bed, she crawls on it above you, peering down at you as you stare up at her.
“dani,” you whimper as her hands grab the hem of your shirt.
“let me show you how sorry i am?” she says, but it comes out sounding like a question. she doesn't move her hands, waiting for your answer before she does anything else.
“please,” your voice comes out in a whisper as you nod.
with one swift motion, dani pulls your shirt up over your head, reaching around your back and unclasping the bra you were wearing, tossing it somewhere in the room. she lowers her head and takes one of your nipples in her mouth, gently biting and sucking on it as you let out a gasp. your hand grabs her head as she swirls her tongue around your bud, removing herself after a long moment with a pop. she moves over to your other breast, doing the same thing as her hand drags down your bare torso. she stops at the waistband of your shorts, pulling her face away from your chest and looking down at you, waiting for you to give her the okay.
you nod your head again, and she pulls down your shorts along with the panties you were wearing. seeing your dripping core has a low groan coming from daniela as she spreads your legs apart, bringing a hand down between your thighs and dragging her fingers along your folds.
“fuck, baby,” she breathes out when she pulls her fingers away. “tell me how you want me,” she says softly, looking down at you.
you're not sure how to respond. there were a few times where she would say this, but it felt different this time. you can see in her eyes that she's genuinely caring about what you want to do, not what she wants to do. you can hear in her voice that she’ll listen and do whatever you want her to do. your head is already spinning, and you manage to get out a response. “your…fingers, please,” your voice comes out more desperate than you expected, but you couldn't help it. this was the most attention she'd given you in months, you didn't care about how desperate you sounded, because you were desperate.
nodding her head, dani quickly pulls off her shirt and leans down, kissing you deeply. your hands trail down her toned body, finding the buttons on her jeans and undoing them. parting from the kiss, daniela pulls her jeans down off her legs and is immediately kissing you again.
“i love you,” she murmurs against your lips, bringing her hand between your thighs. her fingers quickly find your clit and start rubbing small, slow circles on it, causing a whimper to escape your throat which she takes as the opening to slide her tongue into your mouth.
your hands tangle in her hair as your hips buck against her hand for more, which she notices. knowing better than to tease you right now, she brings two fingers down to your entrance and plunges them inside which has you moaning into the kiss. pulling away to breathe, your head hits the pillow under you as she starts thrusting her fingers in you at a steady pace. “fuck…dani,” you moan out.
dani starts kissing from your jaw down to your neck, repeatedly muttering against your skin how much she loves you whether it be directly saying it or giving little praises. she bites down occasionally, leaving little marks that will surely be seen for the next few days, feeling you squirm underneath her every time she does it. “i love you s’ much, my beautiful girl. my pretty girl,” she mumbles softly into your skin.
your face heats up in a fiery blush hearing her praising words against your skin, your arms hooking around her neck to pull her closer to you. “ngh, dani…” you whine into her ear. “f-fuck, feels so ah so good,”
a quiet moan comes from daniela as you whine her name directly into her ear, biting down into your neck to leave another mark as she speeds up her fingers. “i know, baby. you’re so tight around my fingers, you gonna cum, babygirl? you wanna cum all over my fingers?”
“yes!” you gasp, your walls clenching around her fingers at her words. “please, dani– please make me cum, pleasepleaseplease,” you beg shamelessly, your nails digging into her shoulders with a tight grip as your hips rock against her hand.
“i got you, princesa. cum for me,” she murmurs into your neck, feeling your walls tighten around her fingers as she curls them inside you.
with a scream-like moan and your back arching, your eyes roll back and you swear you see stars pop up in your vision as you cum around her fingers. your body trembles with the aftershocks, and a little whimper escapes your mouth when daniela pulls her fingers out of you.
“yn?” daniela says softly, seeing the exhausted look on your face when you turn your head to look at her. “i love you,” she whispers, hesitantly as if she were saying it for the first time.
a tired smile forms on your face at her words, how genuine she sounds while saying it. “i love you too,” you reply.
“are you mad at me?” she mumbles quietly. she pushes some of your hair out of your face, her hand cupping your cheek as her thumb draws small circles on your soft skin.
it takes a moment for you to respond. you could sense the guilt spilling through from the latina looking down at you, and you determined how to answer. “i was,” you start. “you put me through a lot these past few months, you know?”
“i know.” daniela’s voice is barely able to be heard at this point, her eyes averting from yours while she starts to move her hand away from you.
you're quick to grab ahold of her hand before she completely pulls away, not wanting her to feel worse than she already is. “but…” you say, seeing her eyes flicker back to you. “the day i came to get my stuff i knew how sorry you were. in all the different things we’ve been through, i’ve never seen you like that. we’ve driven up the state in one night and your eyes didn't have those big of bags under them when we finally woke up in that shitty hotel you claimed would be great. we’ve gotten scammed by those losers in that casino who took almost everything we had and you didn't even panic or get upset because you said you still had me even though we lost thousands. shit, do you remember when we were at manon’s for her birthday and we got so drunk that you were crying thinking i was going to leave you for her?” a giggle escapes your lips which has dani subconsciously smiling at the sound of it as she finally looks at you fully.
“i remember everyone teasing me for it, yes,” she replies with a nod.
“that was the only time i ever saw you like that,” you continue. “then when i came by the second time and i saw how much you cleaned the place – when you said that you knew i wouldn't like the mess if i came back, i knew you were hoping for me to come back. i could tell. i know you know you fucked up. but you are really gonna have to work hard to keep me here, okay?” you tell her, giving her a look that tells her you're serious without saying it.
“okay,” she instantly says, nodding quickly. “i’ll do anything you want me to, i promise.”
you nod along to what she says. “you're going to change the passwords back to what they were, you're going to let me see your phone, and you're going to block that bitch you saw. are we clear?” you say seriously.
“yes,” daniela’s voice comes out in a whimper at the tone in your voice as she nods again. “i’m sorry.” she shifts around above you when you suddenly wrap your arms around her and flip over so she's on her back below you, her eyes wide as she peers up at you.
“i know, baby,” you say, slowly dragging your hand down her body. “which is why you’ll let me have my fun with you, right? show me just how sorry you are?”
daniela’s face turns red at your words, goosebumps forming along her skin as you drag your hand down to the waistband of her underwear. “yes,” she whimpers.
“good,” you smile at her, leaning down and kissing her.

hamzahthefantastic x reader
description: it's been a full year since you and hamzah broke up, causing you to go silent towards your whole friend group. after rekindling at a grocery store, mandy invites you to a party she's hosting. you go, noticing a familiar set of eyes staring at you throughout the night.
mentions: reader heavily loves pickles, angst and yearning (obvi), she/her pronouns, slight argument, ex!hamzah (who will be back for a lottttt of different fics), sfw!
blood orange is so freaking good i was listening to blood orange and got the idea for this fic <3
--
"martin, is that..?"
you turned around in the aisles messily stacked with assorted jars of pickles and olives, revealing a guy and a girl of your past: the faces behind the whisper. you gazed at the couple in front of you with a certain whimsical, yet surprised stare. martin and mandy were the two people who, at one point, helped toronto feel like home after moving there from the states. meeting mandy at a frozen yogurt stand after she complimented your outfit with welcoming radiance, you soon met martin and became apart of their small, yet comfortable and familiar group.
it was only until you met hamzah that they remained the people who created warmth for you to take in. you and hamzah had a specific energy, tying your souls together as if they were forever meant to be intertwined. chemistry erupted from the first interaction between the two of you; a nostalgic, childlike sense of happiness emerged between you guys similar to high school football games and puppy love. with hamzah, you were never scared. in fact, risk and excitement amplified itself within you every time you took your friendship with him a step further.
it wasn't surprising when hamzah decided he'd kiss you in front of martin, mandy, claire, and chase while at martin and mandy's abode. it also wasn't surprising when you two popped out as a couple a day or two later. the relationship your friends observed was one they rooted for; you knew in that moment that none of your friends would pity you at your wedding, which was new to you after trials and errors of different relationships with different guys.
it was definitely not a fairytale of your childhood dreams with him, actually, the complete opposite. you enjoyed the fact that your days weren't always fast-paced and full of moments that felt like it should be posted on some social media to get a thousand likes. sometimes, your days were slow. your days were filled with laundry baskets piled to the top and a race to see who gets to sort clothes faster. your days were filled with morning breath and uncomfortable, yet cozy positions in bed with hamzah. your days had occasional arguments, yet, they were always solved within a day or two. this was the man you wanted to marry.
however, you've always had the mindset of fairy tales always containing an ending to them, happy or not. you saw him less and less as the relationship went on, as his channel with martin was slowly but surely taking off the mainstream media. he began to hermit inside of his office, sometimes even sleeping there for days, almost as if the job was a ball and chain tied to his leg. yet, he also didn't want it off of him no matter how many times he's found the key. he would spend days without seeing you, seemingly by choice, leaving you worried and lonely. it was after a full two years and three months that you decided to end things with him for the sake of your own mental health, sanity, and wellness.
it was hard at first; honestly, you wanted to curl into a ball and hide away from everyone. martin and mandy were supportive, as they noticed all the times hamzah ditched you to edit or to film or to email. yet, each time you saw their faces, all you could see was him. so, slowly, "yeah, you can come over later," turned into "i'll see if i have plans," which eventually and gradually turned into, "sorry, i'm busy." you felt guilty, but you needed to erase him from your mind, like white paint to a canvas, in order to fully heal. it was never going to be a permanent thing, yet it's also been a full year since you last spoke to them. this was probably one of the most awkward things you could've ever encountered and on this fateful thursday night, you did.
"oh, hi," you softly greeted, rubbing the back of your neck with your free hand that wasn't holding the grocery basket.
mandy's gaze was as surprised as yours was, "wow, it's been ages."
"yeah, y'know... i've just been busy..."
"are you doing anything tonight?"
the guilt of being gone for so long finally decided to show up, chasing after your stream of consciousness like a dog chasing a bone.
"no, no i'm not."
--
without fully realizing until you were sitting in their dining room chair, you were now at martin and mandy's amicable apartment. a cup of tea accompanied your hands; for warmth or for comfort, you weren't really sure. it's been small talk for the past twenty minutes since you've arrived. guilt, as it always does, was still biting at your chest cavity like a parasite. so, to ease it away from you, you decided to speak about the elephant in the room.
"look, martin, mandy, i'm really sorry i haven't spoken to you guys in ages and just stopped responding. honestly, i guess i kinda saw hamzah every single time i saw you two. it hurt too much and i couldn't take it anymore."
mandy held your hand in her palm, "no, i get it-"
"are we pushing you too far by, like, bringing you to our apartment right after seeing us again without it being planned?" martin asked, genuine worry laced in his vocal infliction.
"no, no, definitely not. i've healed, already," you sipped your tea, "i was planning on contacting you guys soon. i guess soon ended up being, y'know, today."
"how have you been? or, like, have you healed from you and hamzah" mandy asked hesitantly; almost as if the mere mention of his name would've broken you like fine china being dropped.
"i've, uh, i've been alright- i guess, sometimes, i still think about him. it's inevitable. the mere thought of him chases after me to this day. it's weird, like, as soon as i got rid of his stuff, i felt okay; i felt fine and i didn't cry, but then there are days where i stumble upon an ad for fantastic mr. fox and i end up crying for weeks straight. i'm not really sure, y'know, when it'll end. hopefully, soon."
mandy's grip on your hand tightened as martin listened to each word you said, processing every emotion and memory held onto your words.
"would you ever get back together with him?" martin asked, as mandy lightly slapped his shoulder, "sorry, was that too blunt? or, like- fuck- sorry you don't have to answer tha-"
"maybe."
mandy's eyebrows raised inquisitively, "really?"
you placed your cup of tea down and started fidgeting with your hands, "i mean, i've always believed in that whole fate thing. destiny can't be changed and that type of shit. i don't hate him. i guess i- what's the word- resent.. him..? i couldn't hate him if i tried. i guess what i'm saying is if the universe decided to bring us back together, i'd probably be scared, but i also wouldn't oppose it completely. i don't know; we were young and i didn't know how to communicate and he didn't know how to balance. it's obvious that it wouldn't work out, then. i don't know about now."
"you seem to have thought about this a lot, to the point where you can talk about it in that way," mandy mentioned.
"so, you would give him another shot?" martin added.
you thought for a moment, "it depends on how that shot happens."
looking at the clock, you realized that it was now almost 10 pm. though you didn't have work or plans tomorrow, you didn't want to overstay your visit and leech onto them and their house. after all, the three of you just reconnected after a full year of absence and silence.
"i didn't even realize it was 10; i should probably get going, now," you got up and scooted in your chair.
mandy reached out to give you a hug, to which you returned, "wait, me and martin are having a get-together tomorrow. it's not a rager, but it's also not, like, lame, i guess. come. chase and claire are visiting and they've been asking about you lately too. everyone misses you."
the whole day was filled of taking chances and playing with the fate you previously thought you were aware of. what's one more game of odds?
"sure. i'll be there."
--
the house was dark, yet also thoughtfully lit with ambient lighting. shades of oranges and blues lit everyone's skin with a contrasting hue, reminiscent of a sunset on the ocean. there wasn't too many people there; if anything, you knew a good majority of them. yet, the thought of why you knew them, or the thought of hamzah's many introductions to get you used to his crowd, made your heart hurt a little. you arrived late, letting yourself in since mandy, nor martin weren't answering their phones. greeting a couple of familiar faces on your way in, you finally found your way to martin and mandy, speaking to chase and claire.
things felt normal for the first time in a long time. you were not alone, in fact, you were with the people who created what "home" was, in the first place. for being in a room with so many people who helped create the best atmosphere for you to thrive in, you still felt lonely. you didn't know it was possible to feel this conflicted; how could you feel lonely when you know you aren't alone?
suddenly, hamzah walked through the kitchen doors to the dining table you were sat at. a red crewneck and baggy, black jeans adorned his body, as well as the black sambas that were years and years old. the beanie that adorned his head, revealing tiny, black curls peeking out of it, complimented the silver chain on his necklace; you recognized it. it was yours.
"i could not find the cups, mandy, where are the cu-"
his eyes locked onto yours as if your pupils were magnets destined to be pulled together. you, then, saw what you witnessed when you first fell in love with him: nostalgia. childlike wonder. puppy love. the table went silent, watching this encounter unfold. everyone's eyes were widened in shock. in that moment, you couldn't hear the music, nor the people around you speaking, nor the drinks being poured or dog barking outside. the only thing you were focused on was the boy in front of you. frozen in space, you hoped you wouldn't have to be the first to speak. yet, you also never were the first one to speak.
"can we talk?"
you nodded, not knowing where this conversation was going to be headed.
--
you were both outside on martin and mandy's rooftop. you mentioned to him that you find it easier to talk when gazing at the stars and being in his presence, though, you were also dating at the time. you wondered if he remembered or if this was a coincidence. currently, you were sat in silence, waiting for him to break it.
"that wasn't the first time i saw you, tonight."
your gaze turned from the stars of the sky to the ones reflected in his irises, "what?"
"this whole night, i've been staring at the door. i wasn't really sure who i was waiting for, but i just felt the need to. now that you're here, i know now. i saw you when you entered and had a mini-panic attack in the kitchen. i don't even know what to say to you now that we're out here."
it became silent again, as you didn't respond.
he continued, "i miss you. i don't think there's a single day that went by where i don't fuck myself up for losing you. fuck, baby, i miss everything about you."
"you do?"
"there's so many texts i wrote you, but i just never sent them. i almost send, like, three of them a week."
"what do they have in them?"
"y'know, updates, my life, asking how you are, apologizing for being a total fucking ass."
"you were a total fucking ass," you teased, laughing ever-so-slightly, "it's okay. it's obvious you've changed and most likely grew."
he laughed as well before his face morphed into something more serious, "if you let me, i'll spend the rest of my life making everything i did up to you."
"and remind me what you did?"
"i didn't treat you the way that i was supposed to- the way you deserve. i'm sorry, i promise i'll fix things," he grabbed your cheek gently and nudged your head towards him, "please, baby, let me fix things. i'll beg, if i have to."
you sighed, "hamzah, i'm scared."
hamzah took out his phone and put in his password.
"my birthday? you haven't changed your password from my birthday in a full year?"
"yeah, uh, i just didn't want to."
he clicked on his notes app and gave you the phone, then turned to the sky and gazed at the different twinkling lights up above.
"what is this?" you asked.
"i write you letters whenever i think about you so much to the point where it gets overwhelming.
you read the first note titled "1/19," which was a couple of days ago.
1/19
hey, baby. how are you? i miss you a lot. i went to the store today and i got the pickles you like. i don't even like pickles. or, i guess, now i do. ever since we ended things, i go to the store just to get a jar of the pickles you liked. i think every time i eat them it makes me think about that one time you forced me to try one and i literally almost threw up because of how disgusting they are. i think i just eat them because idk they make me think of you. i hope you're doing alright. i hope your studies are going good. you're graduating in, what, like a year? that's crazy. i hope i'll be able to be there with you. i'm sorry, for everything, again. i say this in every paragraph. i fucked up. i know that, but please, please let me fix it. i'll be a good boyfriend, i'll even be a good husband one day. i promise. i'll talk to you again soon.
by the end of the paragraph, you teared up. looking beside you at him, a worrisome look entered his face as he gazed ahead of him; a second chance is the most desirable thing to him. he doesn't care about money, or fame, or sex. he's been yearning for you.
you copied his move; your hand made its way to hamzah's cheek, nudging it slowly but surely towards you. the twinkle in his eyes held hope, as did yours as it mirrored him. you sat there, simply looking into each other's eyes and possibly each other's soul; there was no rush, there was only love. your lips made its way onto his, softly, for a mere second. you pulled away as his lips chased after yours, kissing once again with a certain firmness and desperation laced into it.
"i'm sorry again, baby," he admits as he pulls away, "please, please let me back into your life. i don't care how hard or how long i have to work for it; let me earn you back. i can't live without you."
you smiled one of the most genuine smiles you've had in ages, "i trust you, hamzah."
"is that a yes?"
"i dunno. what do you think, idiot?"

Could you do a one-shot where alastor is super nervous when meeting reader, not really on his face but more his body language where when she shakes his hand he continues shaking it or doesn't let go immediately. nervous smile too lol, thanks love your stuff!!
Heeey I wrote it hope you don't mind some interpretation on my part! You didn't mention why Alastor was nervous so I just did whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Tags: Oblivious Alastor, Cartoonist Writer, Humor, awkward affection, Alastor is either oblivious or in-denial, Nifty is Nifty and you should all love her
-----------------------
Alastor’s introduction to you was not a willing one. Charlie had started a bit of a bookclub at the Hotel as some odd attempt at bonding. Alastor wanted no part of it, but after the 532nd time Charlie asked him he said something particularly scathing and the princess was cruel and told Vaggie, and the ex-exorcist would NOT stop stabbing his door until he finally relented.
Of course, his choice of book was one called ‘Blank’. It was a notebook with nothing written in it. Very easy to discuss at a bookclub.
Charlotte was not impressed and Vagatha once again starting throwing vague threats in his direction. How tempted he was to just kill both of them, but alas this hotel has been the greatest form of entertainment he’s had in years (is what he tells himself.)
Darling Nifty came to his rescue, offering up a variety of different light-reading to be discussed in the future. Most of which were….not to his taste. Nifty’s interests highlighted most definitely, but Alastor quickly chucked the books out the window when the story turned to ….that.
As the number of books dwindled, he was just about prepared to give up on this stack entirely and fetch something meaningless to pretend to read (who’d check, anyway?).
He picked up one, a flimsy comic-book like thing and rolled his eyes once before giving it a go. The story wasn’t anything particularly interesting. The plot was just two bunnies going to get some ice cream. But the wordplay, the exaggeration of all the smallest obstacles, how self-aware and absurd it was gave him a good laugh. The Radio Demon’s first introduction to your work.
Although the bookclub idea ended up going nowhere, Alastor found himself seeking out more of your works. Another about a man just making a taco, one about a woman folding her laundry. So many little, day-to-day situations amplified to a ridiculous amount. Clever one-liners and humorous puns sprinkled throughout kept it intelligent enough for him to maintain interest despite the absurdity of it all.
Eventually he got a cartoon you drew that seemed just the same as the rest. Some random cute cartoon raccoon drawing some random little cartoon things. There was a scene in it though that stuck to Alastor’s mind (and dare he say, heart) like glue.
In it, the raccoon was confronted by a shark. “Why do you bother making these?” the shark sneered “No one reads these but you, no one looks at them but you, there’s no point.”
“Why does there need to be a point?” The raccoon said. Alastor’s ears straightened up on their own accord as he read “Even if no one sees it, it’s something I made and it’s some I enjoyed making.”
“Even if you put it out there, no one will care about it.”
“Someone will. They might not say anything but there’ll always be at least one.”
“Do you know how stupid you sound? No one gives a crap about your ‘passions’!”
“I do.”
“Do you know how stupid you sound-“
And then the raccoon pressed a button and an anvil fell onto the shark, comedically turning it into a pancake. “Your argument doesn’t have any depth.” The raccoon said. The story moved on from there.
It struck a bit of a chord with Alastor, he could admit that much to himself. And the raccoon’s way of dealing it was something he’d keep in mind for his next encounter with an annoyance. He didn’t put much stock in it, as storytellers and their stories don’t always agree on all things.
Your comics were a little joyful distraction when he needed them, that was all. Nothing deep and profound.
“BOSS!”
Alastor slammed shut the book he was reading, his grin never faltering though his twitching ears indicated a slight nervousness. He tilted his head in acknowledgement. “Hello, Nifty! Did you need something?”
Nifty scamped up his chair and onto his lap, settling down andstaring up at him with her one big eye. “BOSS BOSS BOSS BOSS I MET THE DEMONESS WHO DRAWS THOSE CARTOONS YOU LIKE”
Alastor’s eye twitched “Oh? Well, that’s neat.”
She stood up, squishing his face between her hands and stared more as her grin grew wider and more manic “Did you want to meet her?”
Yes
“Now, now, Nifty.” Alastor said as he removed her hands from his face “There’s better ways to waste one’s time.”
Nifty tilted her head, staring at him as though it would allow her to see into his mind. Her expression shifted into….One he hadn’t seen on Nifty, admittedly. The best way he could describe it was ‘smug’. But what would she have to be smug about?”
“If you say so, Boss!” She chirped, hopping off his lap and trotting off “But yeah I was at the Evermore Book-Store and she was there working ‘cause I guess that’s what she does for a livng….” Nifty’s voice faded away as the little maid walked off, not caring her rambling were being said to no one.
After Alastor had finished his errands for the day, he happened by that very store…for…Reasons. Upon entering it, he realized he had no idea who- what- he was looking for. The store itself wasn’t large. A couple patrons, one large hulking demon with tiny spectacles at the desk and a much smaller one organizing shelves.
One of the workers, then?
Not that he cared.
“Pardon me!” Alastor chirped to the desk demon. Their big eyes seemed to move in slow motion to him, a low grunt accompanying the acknowledgement. “I’m looking for someone, yes? The author of some silly comics?”
The demon slowly narrowed their eyes, lips curling up into a snarl as a growl emanated from them.
“Ah, so she is here?”
The demon planted their very large hands on the desk, pushing themselves up to stand at their full height. They were taller than Alastor by a good three feet, and much more muscular as well. Their nostrils flared, blowing hot air into his face.
Alastor wasn’t the slightest bit phased. (He found it funny, actually). “So may I speak to her?”
The large demon opened up their gaping jaw-
“That’s me, hi! How can I help you?” The shelf-stacking demon interrupted, getting between Alastor and the clerk demon. A nervous little lady with a wobbly unsure smile and bags under her eyes that looked like they could carry the entirety of Hell in them.
Alastor held up one of your comics- a book that has been very obviously well-read “You’re the creator of these splendid little things?”
“Splendid…?” You repeated him, trailing off into an amused snort “Er. Yeah, I wrote and drew those.” The Clerk behind you closed their mouth, setting back down on their chair and adjusting their spectacles. The glare didn’t leave Alastor.
“Well, my dear, I find I quite enjoy them! It’s quite a pleasure to meet you.” Alastor said, not paying the larger (glowering) demon any mind. He found himself wondering why you were so tired and so timid. A woman like you should be so much more cheerful! Alastor was a tad offended….Because you weren’t smiling like he did. That’s it. Really.
“Well. I’m glad you like them.” You said. “It’s nice to meet you, too.” You offered your hand for him to shake.
One of his ears twitched. You must be fairly new to Hell, to offer a handshake so easily. Or perhaps a bit sheltered or on the naïve side. Alastor briefly considered making a sly deal to take your soul, but… Well, there was no need for that.
He took your hand and gave it a firm shake. Your hand was so much smaller than his own, but it felt as though it warmed his entire body. This was strange. Perhaps you were casting some spells on him? Why was he finding it so hard to focus- why did he feel like he didn’t know what to say next- why-
The Clerk gripped Alastor’s arm in between two fingers, gently but assertively pulling it away from you. You took half a step back, cradling your arm to your chest as if he burned you. Alastor glared up at the Clerk “Is there a problem?”
The large demon growled. You intervened again “Er….You were just. Holding my hand for a while. It was……kind of weird.”
“Ah.” Alastor cleared his throat, straightening his posture with a flourish “My apologies! Mind was elsewhere, you know how it is with us creative types.”
You blinked. Then your timid smile turned a bit more confident. A bit more…like a smirk. “Er. Yeah, I guess so. Well. See you around, I guess?”
“If I have the time, I suppose!” Alastor grinned “Well then, I must be off! Ta-ta!”
You watched as the strange demon disappeared into shadows and slivered off. As soon as all trace of him was gone, you laughed quietly into your hand “Well, I can certainly say for certain I know someone ‘awkward as hell’ now.”
Your friend groaned, gently pushing you over as they continued their own work.

If you’re a woman who has sex with a male, you are not a lesbian. I’ve witnessed transwomen have tantrums about it.
Most trans teens are being nonbinary or trans because it’s trending. When people wanted to be different a decade they were punk or goth or something. Now they’re “queer”
men can’t be lesbians
Women often identify as men or nonbinary because they think they’re special or not women because they have human thoughts and emotions. Literally just talk to any nonbinary woman.
No, being trans is about switching gender roles. You’re not breaking anything by saying you’re a woman because you like painting your nails and having long hair. You’re a woman because you’re female. It’s very easy. The concept of gender is misogynistic trash that your community put lipstick and glitter on and pretend that it’s not the exact same thing by “spicy”
LGB is only focused on trans people right now because you guys won’t stop throwing tantrums about us. Leave us alone do we can do actual activism. You’re not stopping straight people from killing us. You’re the ones hiding behind us for protection
I’ve talked to many trans people. I used to identify as male because of the desire to escape femininity. I used to have almost all trans friends, and I can see it for what it is.
Acknowledging reality is not hateful. I’m sorry you don’t have an actual argument other than throwing buzzwords at me. You’ll grow up one day and realize how cringe this whole thing is.
By cutting out the TQ+, you also cut out:
-Intersex people
-Two-spirit gays and other culturally connected gays
-Gender nonconforming people
-Those who are questioning their sexuality
-Gays, lesbians, and bi's who are supportive of trans people
-Millions of kind, loving, supportive humans who have gone through indescribable, traumatic abuse and wish to build a safe, welcoming community
Why are you so eager to exclude and belittle people? Why do you tell them they 'don't know what real struggle looks like' when their healthcare, their future, and their lives are under attack? Do you truly value 'love', or do you just want to swat away as many people as possible? Why do you continue to hide under a rock and dig yourself deeper into festering hatred, when you can simply come out and support people who can help you?
Wouldn't it be easier to unite with our trans and nonbinary friends to help defeat the growing threat of genuine fascism in our country? Those conservative Christian nationalists and white supremacists who tell you you're "one of the good ones" would gladly turn around and shoot you in a heartbeat, because when they say they're fighting the 'woke gender ideology', they'll mutter in the same breath that you gays are 'degenerates', 'sodomites', and 'animals'. Why would you side with the villains, who see you the same way they see us?
We cannot let oppression continue in any form. We will all be on the winning side of history as we step closer to ending the cycle of hatred and bullying. Open your hearts and minds and you'll find that the everyone around you is just as human as you, and are more similar to you than you'd think. Trans people are people, just like you, and we need your help and support just as much as you need ours.
Isn't it neat how people who are supportive of all LGBTQ+ identities are also kinder, more loving, more empathetic, and more caring towards their friends and loved ones? Just something to think about.
Love wins. Trans rights are human rights.

Steve Harrington x male! reader

The babysitters.
We were under the same roof.
The summer had passed, but Hawkins was still settling back into some semblance of normalcy.
At least, that’s what your parents told you as they sent you off to stay with your cousin Lucas and his family.
After everything that had happened, it was clear you were needed, even if you weren’t sure what your role would be in all this.
Your first day in Hawkins was quiet, too quiet.
The kind of quiet that made you feel like something important was still lingering in the air. You hadn’t been around Lucas, Mike, Max, Dustin, or the others much before, so you didn’t know what to expect.
All you knew was that things had been... complicated. And now, you were supposed to help take care of the kids. Easier said than done.
The house you found yourself in was familiar, Lucas’ family home, but it felt different now, like the walls carried secrets you weren’t privy to yet.
The laughter and chaos coming from the living room was a clear indication that life here, though quieter, was anything but normal. You hesitated at the doorway, unsure of how to join the group, and whether they’d even care that you’d just moved into town.
The first thing you noticed was the noise. It wasn’t loud, not exactly, but it was constant.
Mike and Dustin were arguing over some ridiculous game on the floor, while Lucas and Max were half-heartedly attempting to referee.
The energy was almost too much; too many moving parts, too many voices, but it wasn’t unpleasant. Just... overwhelming.
Then, your eyes landed on him.
Steve Harrington, leaning casually against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest. His presence seemed to fill the room, not with the usual ‘king of the school’ bravado you’d heard about, but with something warmer;
more grounded.
He was part of the chaos, but he was also a quiet anchor in the middle of it. His eyes flickered over to you as you stood there, unsure of how to make an entrance, but instead of the usual dismissive glance or curiosity, there was a softness in his gaze.
“Hey,” he greeted you, his voice surprisingly calm amidst the rowdy chatter. He offered a small smile, the kind that didn’t try too hard but was somehow inviting.
“You must be the new guy.”
You nodded, not sure if that was the right thing to do.
“Yeah, that’d be me. I’m... staying with Lucas for a while.”
Steve’s expression softened, his arms uncrossing as he straightened up.
“I figured as much. Everyone’s talking about you.” There was no teasing or judgment in his tone, just a genuine acknowledgment.
You glanced at Lucas, who was still in the middle of breaking up another argument between Mike and Dustin, and then back to Steve.
“How do you... handle all of this?”
You asked, half-laughing at the mess in front of you. The kids were all loud, taking sides, making plans for whatever trouble they were about to get into.
Steve looked over at them with a small shake of his head, like he was used to it by now. “It’s... a work in progress,” he said slowly, as if carefully choosing his words.
“You get used to the noise. And the drama.” His smile grew slightly, and you could see how he effortlessly slid into his role as the unspoken leader of the group. “You’ve got your hands full now, though. This lot knows how to make a mess.”
“Seems like they’re good at it,” you commented, your voice dry, feeling the weight of the situation.
You didn’t know how you were supposed to fit in, how you were supposed to navigate being the new person here.
Steve gave you a knowing look. “Don’t worry. We all get thrown into the deep end at some point. You’ll be fine.”
His tone was light, but there was something reassuring about it, as if he genuinely meant it.
You weren’t sure what to say to that, so you just watched as he moved across the room, stepping into the chaos like it was second nature to him.
He bent down to break up a new fight between Max and Dustin, using his usual calm, but firm, voice to smooth things over. There was a practiced ease to his movements, like he had done this a hundred times before.
You stood there for a moment, observing him. He was different from what you expected, much more patient and steady.
You’d heard the stories, Steve Harrington, the former high school king, the one who had been through his own share of messes, but somehow ended up here, looking out for the kids.
He was more than just the nickname.
It wasn’t until you saw him glance back at you, that small, amused smile tugging at his lips, that you realized you’d been watching him a little too intently.
He raised an eyebrow, catching your gaze, and for a second, there was an unspoken understanding between you two, something fleeting but real.
“Okay, new guy,” he said, his voice a little more relaxed, like he was letting down some of his own walls.
“Want to team up? We can tag team this babysitting gig. Trust me, it works better when there are two of us.”
You didn’t know what made you agree, but there was something about Steve, something that made it easy to fall into a rhythm with him, even if it was just a simple offer to help manage the chaos.
You nodded, stepping a little further into the room.
“Sure,” you said, your voice quieter now, more certain. “I can give it a shot.”
For a moment, it didn’t feel so overwhelming.
With Steve, there was a quiet reassurance that maybe, just maybe, this would be easier than you thought. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, helping to take care of the kids and settling into Hawkins.
And maybe, just maybe, there was more to Steve than the stories you’d heard.
As the two of you began working together to keep the kids from escalating into more trouble, you couldn’t help but notice the small gestures, the way Steve made sure you were comfortable and involved, offering quiet smiles and half-jokes when the kids got too rowdy.
It was nothing big, nothing overt, but in that moment, you realized something, this wasn’t just babysitting.
This was the beginning of something new.
And even if it was just a small spark, you couldn’t help but feel like it had the potential to grow into something more.
---
The moment you agreed to help, you immediately regretted it.
Max had suggested they all play a game of Dungeons & Dragons, but somehow it devolved into an all-out war of opinions, everyone trying to one-up each other with the most ridiculous rules.
Dustin and Mike were arguing over whose character was the most powerful, while Lucas tried to keep them in check, but his attention was split.
Max, naturally, refused to be part of it at all, folding her arms and glaring at the lot of them as if she were too cool for the entire situation.
And in the middle of it all, Steve was... well, Steve.
His usual nonchalant attitude made him seem like this was just another ordinary Saturday for him.
He leaned back against the couch, one hand lazily draped over the backrest, while the other played with a half-empty bag of chips.
You glanced at Steve, silently pleading for help. He caught your eye, his lips twitching in amusement, but he didn’t offer any immediate assistance.
Instead, he was waiting for you to jump into the fray. You took a deep breath and stepped into the chaos, walking over to where Lucas and Mike were practically nose-to-nose, arguing over whether a roll of the dice was “totally unfair.”
“Hey!” you called out, a little louder than you intended. All heads turned toward you.
Steve’s gaze lingered on you for a moment, something almost like pride flickering behind his eyes as you took charge of the situation.
“Okay, seriously?” you said, raising an eyebrow.
“We’re gonna be here all day if you keep fighting like this. What’s the point of a game if you don’t even know the rules?”
Lucas shot you a grateful look.
“See? I told them it’s about having fun, not trying to win every single time.”
“I don’t always try to win,” Dustin protested, looking offended.
He glanced at Mike.
“But Mike’s character is completely OP. I mean, who even lets a wizard have that many spells?”
“Yeah, well, you guys aren’t playing right!” Mike shot back, completely missing the point.
Steve leaned in, clearly enjoying the drama. “Boys, boys,” he said, with a theatrical sigh.
“How about we agree that everyone can have their turn to be the biggest nerd, but nobody gets to hog the spotlight? Deal?”
You could practically hear the collective groan of annoyance from the kids, but it did the trick, at least for the moment.
“Okay, okay, fine,” Dustin grumbled, sitting down with a huff.
“Let’s just get this over with.”
Just as things seemed to calm down, a high-pitched shriek cut through the air.
Max had decided she was done with the game and was now attempting to sneak into the kitchen to steal the last of the snacks.
“Hey! Max! Get back here!” Steve shouted, moving with surprising speed as he jumped off the couch and chased after her.
You didn’t hesitate to follow, knowing the chaos would only escalate if someone didn’t stop it.
You found Steve cornering Max at the kitchen table, a small bag of pretzels clutched in her hands like she was about to make a getaway.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Steve asked, his voice amused but firm, his hands on his hips as if this were a routine.
Max rolled her eyes dramatically, holding the snacks out in front of her like they were a trophy.
“What does it look like I’m doing? Getting a snack. You guys have been hogging everything.”
“I don’t think I’ve seen anyone eating pretzels since last week, Max,” you said, crossing your arms.
“You just want to be dramatic, huh?”
Max flashed you a smirk. “If you’re gonna let Steve win, that’s your problem.”
You raised your hands in mock surrender.
“I’m just here to keep the peace, not to pick sides.”
Steve leaned in closer, lowering his voice as if he were sharing a secret.
“I’ll let you in on a little secret,” he said, his words only meant for you.
“She gets really feisty when she’s hungry.”
You raised an eyebrow, fighting back a smile. “Noted.”
Max huffed, crossing her arms, but Steve wasn’t letting her off that easily. He took the bag from her hands with a dramatic flourish, giving her a look of mock disappointment.
“You can have some, but you have to promise to play nice with the others. No more stealing snacks.”
Max rolled her eyes again but grudgingly nodded.
“Fine, whatever.”
With the snack crisis temporarily averted, you and Steve returned to the living room, but not before you heard Dustin and Mike get into another heated discussion about which character was the best choice for their next round.
You exchanged a glance with Steve, who was clearly done with the constant back-and-forth.
“You wanna call it quits for the day?” Steve asked, leaning toward you with a grin.
You sighed, rubbing your temples. “I think that’s probably a good idea. They’re never going to agree on anything if we don’t step in.”
Just as you were about to suggest a break, the sound of crashing plastic echoed from the corner of the room.
You and Steve turned just in time to see Lucas trip over his own shoelaces, sending a bowl of popcorn flying across the floor.
The kids burst into laughter, and even Steve couldn't hold back a chuckle.
You couldn’t help but smile at the mess of it all, and for a moment, it felt like you were just another part of the family.
“You know,” you said, shaking your head,
“I can’t tell if I’m actually helping or just making things worse.”
Steve shrugged, his grin widening.
“Sometimes it’s about surviving the chaos, not solving it. Trust me, you’re doing fine.”
As the room settled into a familiar pattern of laughter and minor bickering, you realized that, despite the madness, it wasn’t so bad.
Steve had a way of making the chaos feel manageable, and it felt like, maybe, just maybe, you could get used to this.
---
The sun had begun to dip below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the room.
The chaos of the afternoon had finally settled into a comfortable lull, and the kids had either scattered to their respective corners of the house or fallen into a quiet, tired stupor.
The game was over, the snacks were long gone, and the living room now felt almost eerily calm in comparison to the frenzy that had come before.
You leaned back against the couch, the soft hum of a television in the background barely audible.
Max was sprawled out in one of the armchairs, her headphones in, while Dustin and Mike were attempting some quiet video game battle in the corner.
Even Lucas had found a moment to relax, reading through a comic book by the window.
Steve, on the other hand, had found a quiet corner near the window, arms loosely crossed as he gazed outside at the fading light.
His usual energy had settled, his expression softer now than it had been all day.
You watched him for a moment, the way the light caught the edges of his hair, how his gaze seemed far away, lost in thought.
It was the first time today that he didn’t seem like he was on high alert, ready to jump in and referee the next round of bickering. He looked... peaceful.
For a moment, you considered just letting him be.
But something about the quiet pulled you closer, a small voice telling you to take a chance, to say something.
“Hey,”
you finally said, your voice barely above a whisper.
It felt strange to break the silence, but you did anyway. “You doing okay?”
Steve shifted slightly, as though your voice had brought him out of his thoughts.
He turned his head slightly, catching your eye. A faint smile tugged at his lips as he uncrossed his arms and sat up a little straighter.
“I’m good,” he replied, his voice low and calm.
“Just... needed a second. Been a long day, huh?”
You nodded slowly, relaxing into the cushions as you considered his words.
“Yeah, it’s definitely been... eventful. But, uh, it’s not so bad. You’ve handled it pretty well.”
Steve let out a small, almost embarrassed chuckle.
“I don’t know about that. Half the time I’m just winging it.” His gaze flickered toward the kids again, watching them interact with a small, fond smile on his face.
“But, I guess it works out. You’re not doing too bad yourself.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Me? I feel like I’m just getting dragged along.”
“That’s part of the fun, right?” Steve said with a shrug, still grinning a little. His tone was teasing, but there was a warmth there, too, a genuine appreciation.
“But seriously, you’ve got a good way with them. They listen to you, which is more than I can say for myself sometimes.”
You chuckled softly, shifting so you were sitting a little closer to him.
“I guess we make a good team, huh?”
Steve glanced at you again, his smile widening just a little. “Yeah, I think we do.”
His voice was quieter this time, more thoughtful. “It’s kind of nice, y’know, having someone to share all this with. Feels a little less crazy when it’s not just me trying to keep everything in check.”
You didn’t say anything right away, letting the words sink in.
You had noticed, of course, how Steve had a way of keeping things under control—of bringing a sense of calm to the madness.
But hearing him say it, hearing the vulnerability in his voice as he admitted he wasn’t always sure he had it all together, made you feel... closer to him, in a way.
Like you weren’t just playing along in his world, but that you were starting to share it.
“You know,” you said quietly, looking out the window where the last remnants of the sunset painted the sky in shades of orange and pink, “I didn’t think it’d be like this when I moved here. All the noise, all the... chaos.”
You laughed softly, shaking your head. “But it’s kind of nice. In a weird way.”
Steve followed your gaze, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked out at the fading light.
“Yeah. It’s nice. I think the chaos makes the quiet moments worth it.” He paused, the corner of his mouth twitching like he was holding back another smile.
“And... I think the quiet moments make the chaos feel a little less crazy, too.”
You smiled at his words, the weight of the afternoon finally lifting off your shoulders.
The world outside seemed a little calmer now, the house filled with the soft sounds of the kids in their own little worlds, and Steve sitting next to you, as relaxed as you’d ever seen him.
There was something comforting about this silence, the way everything felt in sync for once.
You didn’t feel the need to fill the air with conversation or distractions. Instead, you could just enjoy the moment for what it was, a brief, quiet pause in the midst of the whirlwind that had been your day.
Steve’s gaze lingered on you for a moment, and you met his eyes, a soft, unspoken understanding passing between you.
Maybe it was the way the evening light softened everything, or the way his presence just felt right, but in that quiet moment, you couldn’t deny it: being here with him felt... good.
“I’m glad you’re here,” Steve said, the words simple but meaningful, his voice steady and warm.
You nodded, a quiet smile curving on your lips. “Me too.”
---
The days after the babysitting adventure had settled into something like routine.
The kids were still as chaotic as ever, but with each passing day, you found yourself easing into the role.
There were moments of laughter, moments of frustration, and, more often than not, you found yourself alongside Steve, trying to juggle the madness.
It wasn’t so much the kids that had started to feel comfortable, it was being around Steve.
Somewhere between handling arguments over video games, calming Max down after she’d stormed off in a huff, and Steve always having just the right words to make everyone laugh or take a break, you’d started to notice something.
The way Steve looked at you wasn’t quite like it had been at first. It was subtle at first,an extra beat of silence when your eyes met, the small, easy smiles that didn’t feel forced, like they used to.
There was an ease in his presence now, a comfortable kind of quiet that you found yourself craving when the noise of the group became too overwhelming.
Today was no different. The kids were in the backyard, playing basketball, and you’d volunteered to stay inside with Steve, mostly because the sun was just a little too hot, and you both had been the designated “guardians of peace.”
You were sitting at the kitchen table, sipping on a drink, while Steve was lazily washing dishes, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
The rhythmic sound of water running, the occasional clink of plates, and the quiet murmurs between you two were almost soothing.
“So,” Steve said, his voice breaking the silence, “how’s school been? You surviving senior year?”
You glanced up from your drink, considering the question. “It’s been alright,” you replied, a small shrug following your words.
“I mean, it’s school. It’s nothing I can’t handle. But it’s... different, you know? Moving here after everything that happened... it’s kind of thrown me off. I feel like I’m still adjusting.”
Steve chuckled, wiping his hands dry on the dish towel.
“Yeah, I get that. Hawkins has a way of making things feel a little weird, right? Everything’s either too normal or too weird, never just... normal.”
You laughed softly, nodding in agreement.
“Exactly. It’s like one minute, I’m trying to figure out how to survive high school, and the next, I’m wondering if I’ll have to deal with some weird, otherworldly creature again.”
Steve smirked, tossing the towel aside and leaning against the counter. “I’m pretty sure that’s part of the charm of this place. You never really know what’s gonna happen next. Makes life interesting, I guess.”
The way he said it made you chuckle, and for a moment, it felt like you were just... talking.
Not about anything important, not anything heavy, but just sharing a moment of lightness, of understanding. It wasn’t often that you felt that way with someone, especially after moving to a new place.
But with Steve, it was easy.
“You know,” you said after a beat, “I didn’t really expect you to be this... chill.”
Steve raised an eyebrow, clearly amused.
“Chill? What, you thought I’d be some angry jock or something?”
You shrugged, trying to hide your smile. “I don’t know. It’s just—well, you’re different than what I thought you’d be.”
Steve laughed, shaking his head. “Yeah, I get that a lot. People usually think I’m all about the hair, the car, the ‘cool guy’ persona.” He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. “Guess I got that reputation, huh?”
You couldn’t help but smile, amused by his self-deprecating humor. “I mean, yeah, but there’s more to you than that.”
You paused, looking down at your drink as you thought for a moment. “It’s just... you’re not what I expected. But in a good way.”
Steve’s expression softened at your words, and for a moment, you both just stood there in the quiet of the kitchen, the noise of the kids in the backyard still distant.
There was something comforting about the silence between you two, something that felt like it was slowly pulling you both closer.
Steve shifted on his feet, his gaze never leaving you as he leaned in slightly, as though choosing his words carefully.
“Well... I’m glad to hear that. Honestly, I didn’t really know what to expect from you either when you moved here.”
You looked up at him, curiosity flickering in your eyes. “Oh yeah? What did you think I’d be like?”
He chuckled softly, his expression light.
“I don’t know, honestly. I thought you’d be like one of those people who just comes in, says ‘hi,’ and disappears. You know, all distant and stuff. But you’re... not like that at all.”
You smiled, a small, genuine smile that came naturally. “I’m not that bad, am I?”
Steve’s grin was playful, but there was something more behind it. “Nah. Not bad at all.”
It was funny, how easy it felt to talk to him.
The way the conversation flowed from one moment to the next, no forced pauses, no awkwardness. It felt natural, like the both of you had always been able to share this space.
The kids outside were getting louder, the ball bouncing off the ground, a few of them laughing at some sort of inside joke, but it didn’t matter.
It felt like you and Steve were in your own little bubble, and for once, the rest of the world didn’t need to intrude.
“I’m glad I’m here,” Steve said softly, almost as an afterthought, as he turned back to the sink, his fingers absently running over the rim of a glass.
“I mean, you’ve made things... easier.”
You watched him for a moment, the words hanging in the air between you two.
He hadn’t said anything too deep, but there was a sincerity in his voice that made your heart skip a beat
You were getting used to this, getting used to him being around, getting used to the quiet moments, to how easy it felt to just be in each other’s company.
“I’m glad you’re here too,” you said, the words coming out quieter than you meant them to.
For a moment, Steve didn’t respond, but the smile he gave you was enough. It was soft, almost shy, but there was something in it that told you he felt the same way.
---
It had been a long week, the kind of week that blended together, filled with the usual mix of chaos, laughter, and quiet moments with Steve.
Every time you thought the day would settle into something predictable, there was always a curveball, whether it was Dustin’s never-ending energy, Max’s occasional storms, or the endless basketball games in the driveway.
But, despite the noise, the moments spent with Steve felt different. Lately, you’d found yourself looking forward to them more than you cared to admit.
It was late on a Friday evening, and the kids had all scattered off to their rooms, giving you and Steve the rare chance for some time to yourselves.
The house was quiet, save for the soft hum of the refrigerator and the distant sounds of the night outside.
You were sitting on the couch, a book in your lap, your thoughts wandering far from the pages in front of you. You could hear Steve in the kitchen, putting away some leftovers from dinner, humming to himself absentmindedly.
The usual chatter and playful teasing had quieted down, and you realized, for the first time in a long while, that you weren’t focused on keeping things light anymore.
You weren’t just babysitting the kids or keeping the peace.
You were... drawn to Steve.
And it wasn’t just about the way he’d smile when he caught your eye, or how he’d laugh when you cracked a joke. It was the way he made you feel. Safe. Understood.
Like you were both in this together. Like this moment, this piece of life, was something worth holding onto.
Without thinking, you closed the book and set it aside, standing up and walking toward the kitchen, your steps slow but deliberate.
Steve was humming louder now, moving around the kitchen, but when you leaned against the doorframe, he paused and glanced over at you, raising an eyebrow.
“What’s up?” he asked, wiping his hands on a towel.
You hesitated for a second, not entirely sure what you were about to say, but knowing that it was time to say something.
Something that had been building up in you for weeks now. Something you couldn’t ignore any longer.
“I don’t know,” you said, the words coming out a little quieter than you meant them to.
“I guess... I’ve been thinking.”
Steve tilted his head slightly, clearly interested, but he didn’t push. He just stood there, waiting for you to continue, his expression soft and open.
“About... us, I guess,” you continued, your heart beating a little faster now.
“About how things have been. How... I’ve been feeling. And, I just—”
You stopped yourself, taking a breath. You didn’t know how to explain it, didn’t know how to put into words what had been bubbling up inside you.
But Steve, in his usual way, seemed to sense what you were getting at. His expression softened, and he took a step closer to you, his voice gentle.
“You mean how it feels like we’ve been getting closer?” he asked, his tone teasing but sincere.
You nodded, looking up at him.
“Yeah. I didn’t think it would happen this way, but... yeah. I guess I’ve been feeling it too.”
Steve leaned against the counter, letting out a small breath as he looked down at his hands.
For a moment, you thought he might change the subject, but instead, his voice softened, more vulnerable than you’d ever heard it.
“You know,” he began, “I’m not always this put-together. Like, I joke around and act like I’ve got it all figured out, but... I don’t. Not even close.”
The honesty in his voice surprised you, and you stepped closer, silently encouraging him to continue.
He glanced at you, his eyes searching yours for a moment before looking away again.
“After everything that happened with... the Upside Down, losing people, and just... everything,” he said, his voice faltering slightly,
“it messed me up. I tried to be the guy who could take care of everyone, who could keep it together for the kids, but sometimes... it feels like I’m barely holding on.”
You felt your chest tighten at his words.
It wasn’t often that Steve let his guard down like this, and hearing the cracks in his usual confident exterior made you realize just how much he carried on his shoulders.
“I don’t know why I’m telling you this,” Steve continued, shaking his head with a small, self-conscious laugh.
“Maybe because you’ve been there too. You get it, in a way that not a lot of people do.”
You reached out instinctively, placing a hand on his arm.
The gesture was simple, but it seemed to ground him. He looked up at you, his eyes meeting yours, and for a moment, the vulnerability in his expression was almost overwhelming.
“You don’t have to do it alone, Steve,” you said softly. “You don’t have to be the guy who always has it figured out. We’ve all been through a lot, and it’s okay to lean on someone else sometimes.”
Steve let out a small breath, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips.
“Yeah. I think I’m starting to figure that out. Especially with you.”
The words hung in the air between you, and the realization of what he’d just said made your heart skip a beat.
He hadn’t said it directly, but the meaning was clear. You weren’t just someone he was confiding in. You were someone he trusted, someone he wanted to keep close.
“I’m glad I’m here,” Steve said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. “And I’m glad you’re here too.”
Your hand lingered on his arm for a moment longer before you stepped back, the weight of the moment settling between you. There was something undeniable in the air now, something unspoken but understood.
The connection between you two wasn’t just friendship—it was something more, something neither of you could ignore any longer.
Steve stared at your lips and cracked a smile.
---
It had been a few weeks since that quiet night in the kitchen when everything changed.
You and Steve hadn’t spoken directly about what happened, but the air between you was different now.
The small moments lingered longer, the playful touches and glances felt heavier, and the teasing banter was layered with something unspoken. Something real.
The kids, of course, hadn’t noticed anything, too caught up in their own world of campaigns, arcade games, and adolescent drama.
But you noticed. Steve noticed. And, slowly but surely, the dynamic between you two shifted into something neither of you could name just yet.
The first time it hit you was at the arcade.
It had been Max’s idea to gather everyone, and somehow, you and Steve had been roped into chaperoning.
The kids scattered the moment you arrived, racing to their favorite machines and leaving you two by the snack counter.
Steve leaned casually against the counter, sipping a Coke, his hair as perfect as ever.
You couldn’t help but smirk at how effortlessly he pulled off the whole "cool guy" look.
“You know,” you said, nudging him playfully,
“you’ve got a serious reputation to uphold. Babysitter extraordinaire, hero of Hawkins… how do you handle all the pressure?”
He laughed, a genuine, warm sound that made your chest tighten.
“It’s tough, but someone’s gotta do it,” he quipped, taking another sip. Then he glanced at you, his expression softening. “I mean, it helps having backup now.”
The way he said it, so casually but with a weight that told you he meant it, made your stomach flip.
You looked away, pretending to focus on the kids in the distance, but the warmth creeping up your neck betrayed you.
“Backup, huh?” you replied, your voice teasing but quieter now.
“Guess that makes me your sidekick.”
Steve nudged you back, his shoulder brushing yours in a way that felt deliberate.
“Nah, more like my boyfriend.”
The word hung in the air between you, and for a moment, it felt like the entire arcade had gone silent.
You glanced at him, and the small, knowing smile on his face made your heart race.
“Boyfriend, huh?” you murmured, trying to sound nonchalant but failing miserably.
He shrugged, his smile widening. “Yeah. You know… someone I can count on. Someone I can... trust.”
The intensity of his gaze made your breath catch, and you felt like you were teetering on the edge of something big.
But before you could respond, Dustin’s voice cut through the moment, shouting for both of you to “hurry up and come see this!”
Steve chuckled, the spell between you broken but not forgotten.
“Guess duty calls,” he said, giving you a quick wink before heading toward the kids.
You followed, your chest still buzzing from the exchange.
---
The second time it happened was during a late-night drive. The kids were all asleep in the back of Steve’s car after a long day at the pool, and the quiet hum of the engine filled the silence.
You were sitting in the passenger seat, your head resting against the window as the streetlights flickered past.
Steve glanced over at you, his hands steady on the wheel.
“You okay?” he asked, his voice low.
You turned to him, smiling softly. “Yeah. Just… tired, I guess.”
He nodded, his eyes flicking back to the road. “It’s been a long day.”
There was a pause, and then he added, almost hesitantly, “You know, I’ve been thinking… I like this.”
“Like what?” you asked, genuinely curious.
“This,”
He said, gesturing vaguely. “The quiet. The… normal. After everything we’ve been through, it’s nice, y’know? Just driving around with you. Feels... right.”
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, and you couldn’t help but smile. “Yeah,” you murmured. “It does.”
The rest of the drive was quiet, but the air between you was charged, every glance and shared silence saying more than words ever could.
---
The third time it happened was at the Wheeler’s basement, during another one of the kids’ chaotic campaigns.
The two of you sat on the couch, watching the kids argue over strategy, your shoulders pressed together.
Steve leaned in close, pretending to whisper about the game but letting his breath tickle your ear, sending a shiver down your spine.
“Think they’ll ever figure it out?” he teased, his voice low and warm.
“Doubt it,” you replied, trying to ignore the way your pulse quickened at his proximity.
He pulled back slightly, his eyes meeting yours, and for a moment, the world around you seemed to fade.
You could feel the tension building, the unspoken feelings between you growing harder to ignore.
Before either of you could say anything, Lucas shouted in triumph, breaking the moment.
Steve groaned dramatically, leaning back against the couch, but his hand brushed against yours as he did. Neither of you moved it.
It was moments like these, small, fleeting, but deeply significant, that defined the slow burn of your relationship.
Every shared look, every playful touch, every quiet conversation brought you closer, inch by inch, until the line between friendship and something more was barely there at all. And though neither of you had said the words yet, you both knew they were coming. It was just a matter of time.
---
The night was still, the stars scattered across the sky like someone had spilled glitter over velvet.
You and Steve were sitting on the roof of your house, a favorite spot you’d both discovered during one of the kids’ sleepovers.
The chaos of the day had finally settled, leaving behind a peaceful quiet that you’d grown to cherish in moments like these.
Steve sat beside you, legs stretched out, his hands resting on his knees as he gazed up at the stars.
He looked calm, content, but there was something in his posture, his fingers tapping absently against his leg, the way he kept glancing at you from the corner of his eye, that told you he had something on his mind.
“You ever think about what’s next?” he asked suddenly, his voice soft but clear in the stillness.
You turned to him, caught off guard by the question. “Next?”
“Yeah, like... after all of this. The kids, Hawkins, everything.”
He gestured vaguely to the sky, his lips quirking in a small, self-conscious smile.
“I don’t know. Sometimes it feels like this town is all I’ve got, y’know? Like I’ll always be Steve Harrington, babysitter extraordinaire.”
You chuckled softly, nudging him with your shoulder.
“You’re a little more than that, you know.”
He smiled at the nudge, but the vulnerability in his eyes didn’t waver.
“I don’t know. I guess I just... I want more. Something real. Something that makes me feel like... I belong.”
His words hung in the air, heavy with meaning.
You felt your heart ache at the openness in his voice, the quiet longing he rarely let anyone see.
“You do belong, Steve,” you said after a moment, your voice gentle but firm. “To the kids, to this place... to me.”
The last part came out before you could stop it, but you didn’t regret it.
It was the truth, and it was time to stop dancing around it.
Steve turned to you, his eyes searching yours, and you could see the moment your words sank in.
His lips parted slightly, like he was about to say something, but instead, he just stared at you, his expression unreadable.
“I mean it,” you continued, your voice quieter now.
“You’re not just... some guy who keeps the kids out of trouble. You’re more than that, Steve. You’re... everything. To them, sure, but to me, too. And I don’t want you to think you’re not enough, because you are. You always have been.”
Steve blinked, his breath hitching slightly as your words settled over him.
Then, slowly, a small, almost disbelieving smile began to tug at the corners of his lips.
“Do you have any idea how long I’ve wanted to hear something like that?” he asked, his voice soft, almost like he was afraid to break the moment.
You smiled back, your chest tight with emotion.
“Maybe as long as I’ve wanted to say it.”
There was a beat of silence, the kind of silence that felt full instead of empty, as if the world itself was holding its breath.
Then, Steve reached out, his hand brushing against yours before lacing his fingers through yours.
“I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way before,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Like... like I finally found someone who sees me. Not just the guy who drives the kids around, or the guy who screws things up half the time. Just... me.”
You felt your heart swell at his words, and without thinking, you leaned closer, your free hand resting lightly on his arm.
“I see you, Steve,” you said softly, your eyes locked on his. “I’ve always seen you. And I—”
The words caught in your throat, but you didn’t need to finish them. The look in his eyes told you he already knew.
He leaned in, his forehead resting gently against yours, and for a moment, the world felt perfectly still.
“I think I’m falling for you,”
he murmured, his voice trembling slightly but filled with sincerity.
You closed your eyes, your heart pounding in your chest.
“I think I already have.”
The confession hung between you, weightless and freeing all at once.
Steve pulled back just enough to look at you, his expression soft but filled with something deeper, something you couldn’t quite put into words.
Then, with a tenderness that made your breath catch, he leaned in and pressed his lips to yours.
The kiss was soft, unhurried, and filled with all the emotions that had been building between you for weeks. It wasn’t just a kiss, it was a promise. A promise that this was real, that whatever came next, you’d face it together.
When you finally pulled back, Steve smiled at you, his cheeks flushed but his eyes shining with a happiness you’d never seen before.
“So,” he said, his voice teasing but warm, “does this mean you’re my boyfriend for real now?”
You laughed, shaking your head as you squeezed his hand. “Yeah, Harrington. I guess it does.”
And as you sat there on the roof, your hand in his, the stars shining above, you knew that this was just the beginning. The beginning of something real. Something that finally felt like home.
Thank you, Hawkins.

Synopsis: Kaiser’s dream of glory comes true, but his victory feels hollow.
*✧・゚: *✧・゚:
The energy in the stadium was electric; people were crazy. The crowd was roaring for Kaiser. The lights shone bright, and the chants of his name echoed, everything felt surreal. Football was his life, his savior, his everything. But as he stood there, triumphant and soaked in sweat, a weight settled in his chest like never before.
The locker room was filled with excitement, but Kaiser sat quietly in a corner, a towel draped over his head, lost in thought. His mind was elsewhere.
It had been weeks since he'd last seen his lover, (Y/N).
(Y/N), a man who once was his silent shelter against the world's noise, his refuge. A touch from him, his smile, or even a look into his eyes were capable of drawing Kaiser from all turmoil within himself back into a tranquil lake. From the moment he began with nothing, the beginning, in itself-he'd seen him work so hard and struggle. And all through it, during every fall and after, even at moments when he'd wonder what everything was about, he'd have Y/N beside him.
But he wasn't here now.
The argument was still echoing in Kaiser's ears, louder than the cheers surrounding him. It had happened a week before the semifinals, a time when they should have been celebrating one of his biggest wins; instead, they were at each other's throats, saying words sharper than they wanted to.
"You're never here, Kaiser," Y/N had said shaking. "You keep talking of the future, about 'one day,' yet it's the same. Constantly football and always something big and more important than me. You just don't see me in that future you are talking of."
"That's not fair," Kaiser had snapped, on the defense. "You knew what this was about when you began dating me. This is my dream, (Y/N). You should get that. You more than anyone else should understand!"
"I get it!" Y/N had shouted, tears welled in his eyes. "But what about my dreams? What about us? What about my feelings? Are we just something you fit in in the cracks between the matches and training sessions?"
Kaiser had gone quiet, unable to answer.
"I can't keep doing this," he'd murmured, the anger sizzling out into exhaustion. "I can't keep being your second choice. I can't keep being the one you seek only when you're not shining on the field."
Kaiser wanted to say something-he really wanted to assure (Y/N) that things would be different, that things would change. But the words got caught in his throat, entangled in a truth he couldn't face. Football did come first. It had to. It was his dream, after all. A part of his everything.
(Y/N) had walked away that night, his absence louder than anything he could have said.
Now, sitting in the locker room, Kaiser felt that absence weighing down on him like a rock. He pulled out his phone, scrolling through the unanswered texts he had sent to him. Each one was a little more desperate than the last.
Please, talk to me.
I didn't mean for it to be like this.
I need you, (Y/N).
But (Y/N) didn't answer.
A hand clapped Kaiser on the shoulder, jerking him back to the present. It was Noel Noa. "Press is waiting for you, Kaiser."
Kaiser nodded slowly, still in a haze. Standing up and plastering on a smile that felt fake, he went to talk to them. Everything felt like a lie today.
The press conference was a blur as reporters bombarded him with questions about his goal, the team's strategy, and his future. Kaiser answered like a robot, his mind elsewhere, somewhere with Y/N.
Later, standing alone in the parking lot, the night was eerily quiet. It was almost like the world was taunting his loud mind. He made one last call. It rang endlessly, and just when Kaiser thought it would go to voicemail again, (Y/N) finally answered.
“Kaiser,” (Y/N)’s voice sounded tired and distant.
“I won,” Kaiser said, his voice shaky. “We’re heading to the finals.”
There was an uneasy silence that lasted for what felt like hours. "Congratulations" a soft reply was muttered by (Y/N).
Kaiser's eyes screwed shut because this pain he was feeling had very almost reached its maximum threshold. "I wish you were here."
"I cannot be," responded Y/N. "I can't keep looking at you when you're not even gazing at me."
Kaiser's throat lumped. "It's not like this; to me, you're everything."
"But not enough," he cut in. "Not enough to be first for you. Maybe we weren't meant to be after all."
Kaiser was wordless. "I hope you win," (Y/N) said with a soft tone, and the call ended.
The silence hung between them, heavy and final.
He was there for quite a while-the stadium sounds diminished, the ache in his chest not going away, reminding him of what he'd lost.
Kaiser lowered his phone, staring at the screen as if it could somehow bring back Y/N. But it didn't.
In the end, Kaiser had chosen football. And it had cost him the one thing he could never get back.
And maybe, maybe after all Y/N was a part of his everything, but it was too late.

Poly! MoonBerryCake X Reader Pt. 8
AN: They actually got the bed from a tiktok account ran by Cosmo and Reader that's just them dancing in front of Teagan and Rodger's custody arguments. And rotoscoping.
This is a request, but is it really-
Part One -> Part Two -> Part Three -> Part Four -> Part Five -> Part Six -> Part Six 1/2 -> Part Seven
☁ He was watching you.
☁ And he hoped you knew it.
☁ His high stealth made him a fantastic spy, even if that was a little tidbit he never shared with the rest of the group. He kept it close to his chest just for cases like this.
☁ He had stepped out momentarily to help Shelly with directions, since his room was the one she confidently knew the way too, sending her on her way before slinking back into the room.
☁ You hadn't noticed he was back yet, and that was for the best as it gave him hope that he'd get to see exactly how'd you'd been doing it.
☁ You've always had a habit of sneaking out when you're supposed to be on bed rest. Right after the pudding incident, you had done it at least 7 times, each one stressing out Sprout and Cosmo more and more. It was amusing in all actuality, making him chuckle from where he remained in his nest. He didn't do well with vomit, and the others knew that, so he was pardoned.
☁ That hadn't changed since you've been returned from being a twisted. You were accommodating for a while, letting them baby you for a while before you were ultimately tired of being pampered (oh, the humanity). So you had picked up the habit once more, trying to sneak away to the kitchen or the lobby.
☁ They, normally, would've understood this, however they took great care to ensure you didn't feel isolated, helping you wherever you wished during the day. Goob and Scraps visited all the time and you and the starters had game nights during the late afternoon where you could get some rest while also interacting with others.
☁ The problem was in the late nights and the early mornings. Runs had slowly started up again after your retrieval, now more focused on researching Dandy's twisted in hopes of getting some insight to the whole situation. There were a few holiday toons as well, but they weren't exactly a priority at the moment. These could go on for hours, and you would get antsy, stressing yourself out needlessly.
☁ Between him and the other two, it was mutually agreed that at least one of them would stay back at any given time as it wasn't feasible for all of them to stay back.
☁ That being said, you've been sneaking about to wait for them since, but none of them could tell how you've been doing it since they've been in the vicinity of the door if not in the room the entire time. It was easy to get past Sprout and Cosmo during the night after they fell asleep admittedly, but he was different.
☁ You knew it, he knew it, and he was almost convinced because of that you wouldn't try.
☁ Alas, you're foolishness knew now bounds as he watching you perk up from your device, eyes darting to the door then giving a quick glance around the room. He was in a corner, blending in with the shadows, so he's sure you're still recovering mind brushed right over him.
☁ It worked as you slowly crept out of bed, lifting the covers as if they were made of fire. Your feet just barely stepping on the floor when you froze, looking at the door once more. There were footsteps outside, two sets- they sounded like Finn and Shrimpo if he had to guess.
☁ You quickly retreated back under the covers, picking up your device like nothing had ever happened. He nearly broke his own cover by snickering at the action, hiding it behind the fur of his collar.
☁ When the steps passed and the door didn't open, you stepped out once more, placing your whole foot down before the second even dared to peek out. When it did, you moved quickly and more silently then he thought possible from you.
☁ You kept the device on and running, the background music chirping happily, probably giving the impression you were still in here playing if he was to check. Never mind the fact that he was already in the room.
☁ You laid your ear against the door, listening and waiting. He almost thought you would go right through the door, making him raise a non-existent brow before you were turning and climbing back onto the bed.
☁ He watched as you carefully removed the grate to the vent above the bed, jumping a bit before you were jumping into the hole of the vent and pulling yourself up. The grate was put back and he could only gape as he heard you scurrying through the vents.
☁ "No way- No fucking way-" Astro gaped at the vent for a solid minute before shaking his head and listening to which way you went. You were heading to the kitchen and he quickly rushed that way, nearly knocking into a few toons on his way.
☁ He threw back apologies but continued on, making it there only to see the other side of the grate open. He gaped in disbelief before shaking his head, moving to stand under the grate.
☁ You fell through, looking triumphant when you landed only for it to fall when you realized who had caught you.
☁ Astro raised a brow ridge at you when you gaped up at him, using a star shard to move the grate back. You look at him then down the hallway towards your room, then back to him as if trying to understand where you went wrong.
☁ You sigh in defeat after a moment of struggle, laying your head on his shoulder as he carries you back.
☁ "I thought you were with Shelly." You pout, crossing your arms. He grins, kissing your forehead as he opens the door to your room.
☁ "That was your first mistake." He snickers, setting you back in bed and making sure you're tucked in comfortably.
☁ He lays down beside you, dragging you closer to him with his arms locked around you. If you'd complain, he'd tell you it's to ensure you get only the best dreams, but he knows it's so you can't move until well into the morning when the others are back.
☁ Speaking of morning, Astro is the biggest snitch. He tells Sprout first chance he gets. You're in the middle of telling Sprout and Cosmo how it was an easy night, no worries, and no escape attempts, when Astro is piping up from where you were like a million percent certain he was asleep.
☁ He told Sprout all about the vent and before you knew it, you were moved off the bed, with Astro dozing on your shoulder, fuming silently as Sprout tightened each of the screws on the vent grate.
☁ That's fine, you told yourself. You had other methods.
☁ Proven the next night when Sprout's on duty. As dubbed before, he's a warden, just less tactful about it then Astro is.
☁ The one benefit you have over Sprout is that you're faster than he is. And that's something he knows you're betting on.
☁ He's taken the vent access away, so you're escape routes were basic at best.
☁ He even went as far as tightening the screws in the bathroom vent as well. Just in case. Your wounds were practically healed at this point, however the mental implications tended to linger as miniscule as they could be. The fact that you couldn't see Astro in the corner was proof of that. Pre-twisted you could've spotted him no matter what, but since the ichor was still being removed by your own natural healing, you were still missing a few things. But those took time.
☁ Which is why they wanted to keep a close eye on you for a little while longer. They just needed to make sure you were as okay as possible before you undid all the steps forward you've made.
☁ Better be safe than sorry and all that jazz. Or some other euphemism Cosmo would use.
☁ The problem however was that Sprout went to bed earlier than the rest of you. Which meant you had something worst than straight up leaving the door open. You had opportunity.
☁ So Sprout's idea was to tire you before his own bedtime so you were knocked out before you even had the chance to escape. And what better way to do that then a run?
☁ Not a real run, no he wasn't psycho, but recently they had cleared a few of the museum floors, giving them an open training area so to speak. And with a few promised treats, free from Cosmo's eye because he would never hear the end of it, Pebble was eager to help, which brough the other Distractors on board easy enough.
☁ It was almost comical watching as Sprout declared you as It and the others took off. You stood stunned for a second before taking off in the same direction as Looey, making Sprout chuckle.
☁ It didn't last long before Pebble was charging at him and you, unhelpfully. decided to inform him last minute that the rock was it.
☁ In the end, it had gotten him exactly what he wanted, even if there were a few other casualties as well. You were already falling asleep as he walked you back to the room, making him grin as you babbled about one thing or another. Sprout nodded along as you did, going through the motions of your night time routine for you.
☁ You were mid rant about how frosting was so amazing and you needed an entire bowl of it right that moment when Blu lept up onto Sprout's shoulder, making you gasp. "Our baby!"
☁ "Uh-huh, our baby." He hummed, wetting a cloth with warm water before rubbing it over your face. It made your face scrunch as you tried to back away, but his other hand on the back of your head stopped you.
☁ He helped you into your pajamas and made sure your teeth were brushed before laying you in bed, Blu jumping into your arms before he was wrapping the blankets around you tight enough you couldn't escape.
☁ He grinned at his handy work, going through his own bedtime routine before finally laying down, snuggling right up to you. You were already in dreamland, snoozing away making him grin.
☁ Easy as pie.
☁ Even better as he wakes up well before you do the next morning and ensures you're under warden's watch.
☁ Cosmo. Oh Cosmo. Now remember part 6.5, where I mentioned that Cosmo very quickly learned to assert himself?
☁ :)
☁ With the other two, he likes taking a back seat and letting them be the bad guys, but when they're out and he's left with his stubborn partner who is supposed to be resting?
☁ Not a chanceee. And the worst part? No one will every believe you.
☁ And Cosmo's stealth is high, so your ichor speckled brain struggles to spot him sometimes. And he takes full advantage of that. Constantly. Before you even get the chance to take off, he's there with a primed smile, too sweet and saccharine to be genuine as he kindly asks, "What do you think you're doing."
☁ So Cosmo is a little scary...It's for the character development. :)
☁ But you don't take that for what it is.
☁ Your first attempt is through the room's door. You manage to get it open a full inch before Cosmo is slamming it shut and leaning into your space.
☁ You take your retreat to the bed with your hands up and a small smile on your face.
☁ The second try is the balcony. That doesn't get you very far either as a hand catching your shirt makes you freeze. Cosmo drags you back that time.
☁ The third attempt you don't even get a full foot on the floor before Cosmo is popping back up.
☁ You're not brave enough for a forth try. It's almost comical how you've faced down every single one of the twisteds, Dandy included, but you're rendered docile by Cosmo.
☁ When the other two return from their mains only run, they're stunned by the sight of you, laying in bed and munching on a cookie while watching something on the tv in the room.
☁ Sprout has to do a double take, twice, just to be sure that is what he's seeing. Astro himself pokes your cheek a few times just to see if it's really you, giving a sigh of relief when you swat at him.
☁ Cosmo takes that moment to reappear, his own pajamas on as he waves at them. When asked if there were any more escape attempts, you nearly swallow your tongue when he grins and shrugs.
☁ "Nah, they wouldn't dream of it."

Someone please get El out of there
Is it not obvious what this is? Do you really not know what you should be doing? SAY THE DAMN WORDS.
Why do you think she’s doubting you? Can you really not tell?
Mike, sweetheart, your relationship balancing skills are a terror to your friends, family, and romantic partners.
This is why people found Midleven cuter in S1/2, because the day you made it official marked the beginning of El’s doubts in your feelings for her.
You cannot seem to grasp that El is your friend AND your girlfriend, and somehow treating El like a girlfriend equates to treating her like shit.
You cannot make this up. El needs WORDS because Mike’s ACTIONS actively make her feel unloved. She does not feel it, so she wants some kind of verbal/written affirmation because of how emotionally distant Mike feels.
(someone talented please edit Elmike to Hamilton’s Burn or send an existing edit my way, thank you ♡)
His actions do not align to her expectations of love, not that it’s a good idea to let TV define romance for you, but you’re allowed to want/expect certain things in a relationship, and El isn’t getting that.
And let’s not act like Mike isn’t good at making people feel loved/cared for. Will is in love with him for a reason. El loves him for a reason.
(It was difficult to pick scenes for this because I’ve read arguments for how these aren’t really romantic at all, but from 12/13-year old, “fresh out the lab” Eleven, it’s as romantic as romance gets imo)
El has been trying to convince herself that their relationship is better than it is, because once she admits to herself that it’s not working, what does she do?
Her day-to-day life isn’t that great. Sure, she has her new family in the Byers, but her dad recently passed away and she’s being bullied at school. She has no friends outside of Will, and while I’m sure their relationship is great (wasn’t explored that much tbh), he can’t keep her from feeling isolated, and his own trauma with bullying keeps him from standing up for her.
One good, unchanging thing she has is her relationship with Mike. He’s the one who took her in and housed her, he taught her what it meant to be a friend, and… I’m having a bit of trouble here lol. I was going to say:
Never used her for her powers (not true lol)
When she was burnt out, he never expected more from her (not true LOL)
Never treated her differently for her powers (for this one, he found her awesome in an awestruck way rather than a Brenner “I’m gonna exploit this” way, but when he thought she lied about Will/hurt Lucas he was on her ass lmao)
My girl has those ‘first love’ blinders on. I keep having to ask myself what she sees in him besides ‘first person to accept me + we kissed’ like besides the latter, Dustin was right there. A lot of the parts of Mike I enjoy don’t reveal themselves around El outside S1 (barely S2). He’s shown as caring and protective, but he’s like that for all of his friends?? Especially when they’re in danger so idk what’s different. I’d have to peruse the milkvan tag to get a hint, but I’ll probably get a better idea watching Sleeping Beauty.
I’m a firm believer that Mike kept it ambiguous because he didn’t want to admit what the real problem was to Will.
“I couldn’t tell El that I love her.” - simple as that. Must be something about Will that has him holding his tongue because after S3 I doubt he’d have that much trouble telling Lucas.
Are you embarrassed? If you thought it wasn’t that serious you wouldn’t have told Will that it was something you “can’t come back from”. Is love serious to you, Mike? Because you can’t love El in the way she wants, do you think you’re incapable of it? Do you feel wrong? Do you not want Will to know?
Hit a little too close to home, huh.
(and let’s not get into the "team, friends, best friends" scene they had together like what was the point in having them make contact a SECOND time.
They already established a connection between them. Mike could’ve asked to be a team after the "guess it's gonna be up to us again," and Will could’ve taken the painting offscreen (the focus shot of Will grabbing the painting gets me so bad like WHY), but instead they wanted them to blush and giggle over each other AGAIN before they got to the van.
Make it make non-Byler sense I'm begging.)
You’d think that’d be good enough, but Mike still feels conflicted and has to make it Will’s problem (actually, Will kinda made it his problem. The way they shot the triple take makes it seem like Will dragged Mike away for another talk because of how spacey he was being. Who knows.)
Tf do you mean you didn’t know what to say? “Maybe if I said that thing” so you DO know? It’s painfully cut and dry if you take emotions out of it. El wants Mike to say that he loves her, so to fix this, to come back from that fight, Mike has to say he loves her.
Why is it such an internal battle for him? If I were to take it at face value, I’d chalk it up to what he said in the van scene.
So your solution is to push your relationship to a point that has El crying and throwing all the loveless letters you sent to the floor? To tell her that she’s incredible and a superhero and that she should know how you feel about her because, despite the tears streaming down her face and her DIRECTLY asking you if you still love her, she must know how amazing she is too?
NEWSFLASH, Queerler! She’s learning just how much she doesn’t need you right now, so I guess it’s time to face your fears!
This isn’t what I meant, but go off ig (don’t, actually, this is awful for everyone involved).
No way you expect El to buy this. You’ve expressed this fear of "losing El" to Will, I’ll give you that, but nothing you’ve done IN FRONT OF EL has conveyed this. Your letters weren’t helping, and you being there in person only made it worse.
Eagerly awaiting the day Michael Wheeler stops lying.
Well, I guess he doesn’t lie ALL the time.
#byler#byler s4#mike wheeler analysis#anti-mileven#save her please#Mike is such a dumbass#I’ll love him forever#but El is my girl so I can’t stand for this#“Eleven expresses to Mike that he isn’t loving her the way she wants to be loved”#thank you MBB#you’re so real#liars always expose themselves when they get to yapping#it’s the way he expects her to forget what they fought about#that’s why she ignored your goofy ass afterward#I suddenly see the Henderhop vision#please don’t take my anger too seriously I’m just a girl having fun

Bg3 Body-Type Headcannons
Because 4 body types isn’t enough imo
(Keep in mind that these are all simply my opinions and nobody has to agree with me)
Karlach- The same as how Larian designed her, just more muscular in the arms.
Shadowheart- I like to think Shadowheart has a more pear-shaped body type than the hourglass Larian blessed us with. I’ve also seen people portray her with a very large chest, but honestly I can’t see her with more than a C cup. Because of the rigorous training she underwent I can still see her being quite lean but not pure muscle.
Lae’zel- Slightly more muscular, and completely flat chested. Githyanki are egg-layers and I have personally seen no reason for them to have mammary glands. They’re almost reptilian and reptiles don’t chest feed or just have mammary glands generally so like… yeah you get my point. I also feel that she should be at least a bit more muscular because she’s a fighter who’s been trained to kill from birth. None of the Githyanki should be as frail-looking as they are.
Wyll- Honestly… Larian cooked. He looks fine. The only thing I wish were different is his hair. I feel like he’d look so majestic with long locs with little golden rings and cuffs.
Astarion- I can see the argument people have for him to look like he does, and I don’t completely disagree. However, I just feel like the two centuries of abuse and starvation would make it a little difficult to be as ripped as he is. Personally, I feel like Astarion would be way more lean than he is, with far less visible musculature. (Edit: someone said he should be more “boney” and I completely agree.)
Gale- he should be a little pudgy. This man is a book obsessed wizard who spends his days in his tower with his cat. I don’t think he’s wasting his precious studying time with working out to be cut as hell.
Minthara- honestly, I feel like a paladin of her power level should be a little more built than she is. Like not body builder or anything crazy, but at least more visible musculature.

i think there's some communication issues in scam literacy communication that's contributing to a lot of slapfights on this website; i think there's very little distinction made in most people's minds between "someone lying about why they need money" and "someone attempting to commit identity theft/get payment information," and that leads to a lot of circular arguments that go nowhere.
"someone lying about why they need money" is, at worst, a dick move, but it doesn't pose any threat that needs to be "called out;" if they're just raising money through a kickstarter or gofundme or similar, the most you can argue is that, if it's in exchange for a product, you deserve a refund if you don't receive that product (and there is a degree to which "hey, this person keeps running campaigns to launch different products, but those products are never actually made" is a legitimate warning with a lot of value to putting out there). but at the end of the day, lying about your personal life on the internet is a time-honored tradition, and "this person lied about having a sick cat when ACTUALLY they used a thousand dollars for a LAPTOP" is, frankly, a waste of energy to tie yourself in knots over or "expose."
but scam literacy education is important, and you need to be able to recognize scams online, because the majority of them are trying to skim your payment details, and a lot of those intentionally prey on elderly and disabled people with low tech literacy. apart from the standard impersonating-an-organization-or-the-government scams, there are a lot of popular identity theft scams online at the moment that give the impression of being run by individuals who need funds, and those are legitimately important to recognize. (for the record: my rule of thumb is that i only give money through websites i have already vetted, that i have a pre-existing account on, and i never access those websites through a link a stranger gives, i go to the website myself and look up their account manually. this is to avoid link spoofing.)
anyway, i just think conflating the two concepts is a big source of pointless circular arguments on this site, that's all. they're two extremely different situations with extremely different material effects and should be treated differently.
