i can like the content someone has made without thinking they're a great person (especially when it's not content i'm paying for) and, shit aside, there has been a lot of good commentary across a lot of videos
that said-
there has never been a moment where i claimed alex was truly a great person because i don't know him. and i've only been watching his channels for maybe a month so i definitely don't know a lot
i posted that gifset because i do truly love that video, but ultimately have deleted it because it's simply not worth the fight. they're just gifs. and tbh after some thought i wasn't super comfortable keeping them up
i was aware to a degree when the set was originally posted, but i've seen a little more - just vague things (and i'm keeping it that way, at least for now, bc my mental health rn cannot handle a lot) but it's enough
i'm probably still going to watch his videos, at least the ones i've already seen and liked and maybe new ones if they look worthwhile, because his content is enjoyable a lot of the time, it's what i initially followed him for, and imo doing bad doesn't automatically erase all of the good. there are several videos, both solo and done with friends, that have become comfort content
but... yeah. i'm kinda sad and kinda disappointed and kinda exasperated and kinda surprised and kinda annoyed and a lot tired
#those emotions don't apply to this situation alone but it certainly hasn't fucking helped#what's that meme..#top ten biggest anime betrayals??#but not quite bc he's just a guy who makes videos that i really liked#the videos and the guy#ngl#bc he's cute and has that lisp#but that doesn't make him less of a 'stranger-guy i watch on youtube'#my brain is not awake enough for any of this shit#i need to disengage for a bit#jeaus christ why#maison speaks

I think one of the things that gets lost in the big, endless internet conversation about whether or not heroes should kill their villains is the fact that killing villains off robs you of a lot of story-telling potential. The Joker died at the end of his debut story in Batman - imagine what Batman would be if he stayed dead. No Joker in Batman 66, no The Killing Joke which means no Barbara Gordon as Oracle and no The Dark Knight, no Mark Hamill Joker episodes of BTAS (so many of them were based on his comic appearances, after all - the laughing fish is a direct adaptation of a comic), which means no Harley Quinn and no Return of the Joker, on and on it goes.
Like, you can argue the morality of heroes sparing their villains till you turn blue - god knows this site does it at least a thousand times a day - but on a purely pragmatic story-telling level, the minute you kill ANY character, you kill all the story potential they had. And yeah, it's fiction, you can bring them back from the dead if you really need them, but that's a pretty hard story beat to pull off without hurting your story. You don't want to fill your tale with "Somehow, Palpatine has returned" moments.
And you can just make new villains, sure, but again you have a problem with that - a new villain has to establish themselves and has to stand out from who came before, which means you can't go directly to the storylines you could have had with a villain who stuck around AFTER their introduction. A recurring villain is capable of doing things that one-off villains can't.
youtube
I'm going to illustrate this with a character from a fandom I'm not even a part of - I never played the Ratchet and Clank series and am only vaguely aware of it, but one day I saw a supercut of scenes starring one of its recurring villains, Dr. Nefarious, on twitter, and I was like "Oh shit, that's the guy who plays Quark on Deep Space Nine, isn't? This guys a hoot, let's see if we can find more clips on youtube." Which brought me to this hefty video here from one of the more recent games in the series.
And, like, as a person who "doesn't even go here," it's obvious this goofy little fucker has a history. His opening scenes have him ranting about how much it sucks to lose repeatedly - a lampshade on the "flaw" of a recurring villain, i.e. that their threat diminishes the more they come back because, by the nature of their role in the story, it means they've suffered a lot of losses. So how cool is it that as this supercut chugs along you can clearly see this is a theme of the game - that this is a story about the virtue of losing, a story that is enriched by having an antagonist who fans of the series know has lost a LOT?
The true antagonist is an alternate version of Dr. Nefarious who's won every fight in his life so far, apparently with little effort, and I love how they differ on a design aspect. They're both technically mad scientists, but notably, Emperor Nefarious, the winner, has a more imposing and "heroic" build, but a smaller brain-dome for his robot brains. Because winning may make him look strong, but if a mad scientist's real power is their mind, well, which Nefarious is really the strong one here then?
Dr. Nefarious gets this juicy arc about realizing the virtue in his repeated failures that corresponds with the heroic characters struggling to find a way to win against a seemingly invincible opponent, as well as contrasts the true villain, Dr. Nefarious's explicit counterpart and foil Emperor Nefarious, who has never once lost and is a total piece of shit for it. Again, not my fandom, I don't go here, not an expert on Ratchet and Clank, but even as a relative stranger to it who's just watching a big supercut, I fucking love this. This is an excellent story.
And it's one you can only tell with a recurring villain. Without Dr. Nefarious, this story works significantly less. You need a villain with a history the audience has seen to really sell this.
Anyway, I made this post because, ironically enough, I saw another tweet talking about how some fans think Dr. Nefarious should have been killed off in his first appearance, and, like... that's just fucking baffling to me, as a person outside this fandom looking in. Recurring villains deserve more love, man, they give us so much.

Ive been watching Frankenstein movies again (I think I'm gonna have to make some kind of something about it, but I also have never made a video for the internet before so... To be determined?)
Anyways- I have a new recommendation for Frankenstein nerds with time on their hands! And I haven't seen much about it?? Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but even the 1994 Kenneth Branagh version has something of an audience, and I think this one deserves at least that amount of attention.
Drumroll please!!
"Frankenstein" 2004, Directed by Kevin Connor
Now I think the reason this one is so unwatched is because it's actually a TV movie broken into two "episodes". The whole thing is about 3 hours long. And weirdly enough, aired on Hallmark??? But guys it's like. Really really good. Like, REALLY really good.
Some highlights for me personally include:
Henry Clerval! He's here! He's jolly! He's a little bit of a menace! Genuinely though he has a wonderful sense of charm and charisma to him, which works really well against the naturally more serious and dramatic Victor. Plus he's a history nerd with a bad relationship with his dad who doesn't want him to go to college. So naturally he hops on Victor's carriage mid-ride to Ingolstadt. What a guy
Elizabeth! Her relationship with Victor feels natural, but she also feels like her own person. Also they don't frame it like they're siblings (looking at you Kenneth). It feels more like they're childhood sweethearts who happen to live together, there's never a point where they refer to each other as siblings, there was never an intention from the parents to make them siblings, it just feels way less icky than many other adaptations. (It's still kinda weird though just on principle) I think she could've been explored more but she's fun when she's on screen. She paints, she jokes around, she has goals and expectations, I like her.
The portrayal of Victor is one of the most successfully sympathetic I've ever seen. It is very very easy to make Victor an asshole. Which he is, but it's easy to make him the wrong kind of asshole. Petty and vindictive, eager to run away from responsibility and denying the consequences of his actions. That's not him here. It's more that he's overwhelmed. He's completely over his own head. There's a lot of emphasis put on the fact that Victor is mentally unwell after his experiments. He's completely broken himself down, the minute the lightning thing doesn't work he flies into a rage. And then when the Creature starts breathing, he sees it for a few seconds and then blacks out. As far as he knows, he hallucinated the thing getting up (and he continues to experience paranoid hallucinations throughout the story, it's not a one time assumption). He still abandons the Creature, but it's not because he hates it, it's because he's exhausted and overwhelmed and literally doesn't know what's real. And that goes a long way in making the two feel equally sympathetic, which I think is very important.
This portrayal of The Creature is also one of the most successfully compelling I've ever seen! His performance is very gentle and quiet, which I think makes his rage and torment all the more intense. It's pretty common for the Creature to speak in a deep growl or low-toned monologues, but Luke Goss keeps his voice light and soft, which really really works. Plus I think his makeup and costuming is excellent. They stick way closer to the book description. He has a very pretty well-shaped face, but his skin is dry, grey, and cracked. His eyes are bright but sunken in shadow, and stitches poke out from just under his hairline. At the same time it's believable that Victor designed him to be beautiful, and that strangers would find him unnerving.
It's definitely too long, but it's a good time! You can also just find it on YouTube for free so, bonus points for that

Some annoying queer things I see online
Lets start with "If you're cis you have to have your pronouns in your bio"
It's always "CIS PEOPLE PUT PRONOUNS IN BIO !!! My sweet lil trans babies do what you feel safe doing :((" Until it's celebrities.
For one, unless someone says "I'm cis/trans" there's no way to KNOW their gender identity. & that's not even factoring in people who say they're cis but are questioning/will question their gender in the future. This isn't to say all cis people secretly are trans either not ready to come out yet, or they don't even know they're trans - not at all. I do know most of cis people who say they're cis know are actually cis, but I am saying that FORCING people to add their pronouns puts TRANS PEOPLE in danger/forces them to either allow people to misgender them [if they're not ready to come out yet] or forces them to out themselves when they're not ready.
Also, making it either cis people who hate trans people & trans people who don't wanna put their pronouns in their bio for whatever reason, isn't the epic trans ally win y'all think it is ? Like do you know how many trans people I've seen get accused of being transphobic - not because of what they've said, but purely because they didn't have their pronouns in their bio & people just assumed they were a transphobic cis person ? Way too many.
Plus cis people should be allowed to want to keep parts of themselves private as well. Like I do know why people want cis people to add their pronouns - I want more cis people to add them cause I know it normalizes it for trans people. But we can't encourage people to explore their identity & then erase the fact some may want to keep it private. Cause I'm sure for some people, including cis people, their gender is personal, & we shouldn't be making it our buisness.
here are some [but not all] people may not want to have their pronouns anywhere on their account:
One: They don't wanna deal with transphobes. Normally this is for trans people, but I'm sure theres a cis person who also hold this stance
Two: They aren't out or ready to to come out. Just because someone is in the public eye, doesn't automatically mean they're safe to come out. I've seen a lot of non-famous queer people say they don't wanna come out because they love their parents but know/think they won't be accepting & they don't wanna lose their family, and the same can be said for famous people. A lot of them may not feel safe to come out
Three: Gender is personal to a lot of people !!! I forgot who said it cause I didn't frequently watch them, but I saw a youtube video where they said they're nonbinary, but they don't talk about it online [& in turn, don't have their pronouns anywhere on their profile] because their gender is personal to them. It's not that they don't feel safe/comfortable to come out, its just that their identity is for them [& people they wanna tell IRL], not strangers online.
Four: They're questioning. Sure, at the end of their questioning, could they end up going "Whelp, I'm cis gender !!!" but that doesn't mean the time they spent exploring their gender was any less important. & people questioning shouldn't have to tell you, a stranger on the internet, that they're questioning their identity. Thats an incredibly personal aspect of their identity & a personal experience.
Theres probably more reasons, so these are just a few but yeah. Don't yell at people - even celebrities/influencers, to add them to their profile. Even if they've explicitly said they're cisgender. Until they've said otherwise, just use what they allow [So if they present as a guy, use he/him, if they present as a girl, use she/her, until they say otherwise].
Also, I think this just assumes people are cis. I remember people make those "Look at my babygorl" Jokes about Gerard Way, & they've publicly said on twitter they use he/they, but since he doesn't have them in any bio, people just assume they're a cis man, which goes against the whole "Cis people add them, trans people do what you feel comfortable doing !!" [& I know pronouns=/=gender, so Gerard very well could prefer he/they but still I.D as cis, but you get my point]
[Also before you say "Why not add this symbol to say you can't add them" WHAT ??? Like if YOU like having a symbol in your bio that means you can't have your pronouns in your bio, thats fine. But you do know if everyone who couldn't add them [ESPECIALLY celebs] used a certain symbol, it'd make the symbol useless cause cis people would look it up, know what it means & boom pointless now. Plus if I didn't feel comfortable or safe adding my pronouns, I personally wouldn't feel safer adding a symbol telling everyone I don't feel safe/comfortable adding them ? Again, if you like it, go off, but it won't help everyone.]
NEXT UP, MAKING BIGOTED JOKES ABOUT QUEER PEOPLE TO CISHETS
I mean that in the sense of seeing a feminine man, who either publicly has said hes straight, or has at least said he's not gay, yet people "Jokingly" call him slurs, say shit like "Omgggg the closet is made of glass XD Just come out already haha", etc.
This is shitty for a lot of reasons I already stated above [They might be queer but either haven't accepted themselves, may not be ready to come out, or may not even realize they are. Or maybe they know but their queer-ness is personal to them & they don't wanna tell a bunch of strangers online, etc]
But it pushes harmful bigoted stereotypes. Like I have never once seen someone call The Rock for example any queer slur or say he's SURELY gay. I've only seen this about dudes who have more feminine mannerisms [at least feminine in societies eyes] or do things that are seen as traditionally 'for girls' such as painting their nails, wearing pinks & purples, wearing skirts & dresses, etc. Which only harms everyone, because whether you're trying to or not, you're pushing the notion that "girly" things are for girls or queer men, which isn't okay.
It doesn't matter if you yourself are queer making these jokes, you can still spread bigotry towards a group while being a part of that group, which if you make those jokes, you are. While not the main focus of the video, I think Dan Howells coming out video explains the impact of this well, so if you haven't seen it, I'd check it out.
Anyone is allowed to be uncomfortable with those jokes being directed towards them. It doesn't make them bigoted to not wanna be called slur or have people say that because they do X, Y, Z they're obviously gay/queer & in the closet. [& yes, I have seen someone say w/ their full chest that because they [the person making the jokes] are queer themselves, the person they're directing the jokes toward [as far as we know a cishet man] isn't allowed to be upset at the jokes because that'd be bigoted of him]
"If I had KNOWN they were queer I wouldn't have done that !!!" Thats not at all okay. You shouldn't harass people period, & you're just demanding they reveal an incredibly personal part of themselves just so YOU can show them basic respect, which is harmful. Plus you're still spreading bigoted stances, it doesn't matter if you're queer, it doesn't change the fact you are.
SAYING REAL PEOPLE CAN QUEERBAIT
Real people can't do that & saying they can only hurts queer people. I made a whole post about this, but I'll restate it here.
It doesn't matter if they way rainbows everyday & have the most colorful wardrobe [& honestly, if you're saying they're queer because they fit into queer stereotypes, that's bigoted. Idc if you're queer, it's harmful to go "You fit into stereotype ??? YOU ARE QUEER OFC !!!" Like what ?], if they kiss the same gender on the daily but still insist they're cishet, etc whatever. They aren't queerbaiting because real people can't do that.
Like I've said a lot throughout this post, saying real people are queerbaiting forces queer people into a corner where they have to come out to stop being harassed.
I may add to this later, but this is all for now. Stop this shit, it's annoying & doesn't actually help queer people. I hope this post makes sense, it's hard to articulate everything :/

Aot characters and the type of Genshin player they'd be (Because I'm finally gonna start writing for Genshin.)
A/N: Levi is not in here because I honestly can't imagine him wanting to or actually playing Genshin.
Eren~ The Toxic Player
"I farmed for him before he even came out, he hits 40k now, just let me play him so we can actually win." Most likely said this to Jean. I just know Eren has every five star he's ever pulled for with the occasional five stars that almost everyone has like Qiqi and Diluc. The most he's spent on the game is a couple hundred and he only has five stars in his character showcase. (You know like a douche). I bet his favorite character is Tartaglia or Xiao.
Armin~ Casual F2P
"If I spend all my primos now I can't pull for my favorite character's rerun so I just have to wait till they come back." I have no idea why but I just feel like Armin is an Ayaka main and that she's his favorite character. Without a doubt has a team of all girls and they're surprisingly powerful for someone who never spends money on the game. He mostly plays with his friends but when he's playing co-op with strangers he always chooses to be healer.
Jean~ Waifu collecter/Simp
"Please come home, I'll make you so happy!" Has definitely lost the 50/50 at least twice. Also has a team of all girls but not for the same reason Armin does.. He's dropped at least five hundred on this game before and Connie makes fun of him for it. Raiden simp/main with a kinda shit build on at least three of his characters.
Connie~ Troll
"Watch me kill this domain real quick. My Bennett does two hundred." Has definitely gone to someone's world to rick roll them with the lyre. Pulls for a character that's amazingly versatile then builds them poorly only to take them to co-op domains with his friends and die first. Built Traveler up the best out of spite to Eren who said the Traveler is weak. Says his favorite character is Lisa.
Sasha~ Streamer/Ytber
"I've only been here for an hour so if you guys want to come to my world come on. We're doing boss battles." She prefers to post little short videos of her fails on YouTube but every now and then she goes live on Tiktok and allows people into her world to do domains which she got a decent following from. I feel like her favorite character is Yomiya or possibly Amber.
Historia~ The steady healer
"No Ymir, it's fine people normally don't see Kokomi's potential I'm not upset that they kicked me." Ms. Girl has an all healer team because she hates damage. I just know all her characters do 25k or more. She's normally nice enough that even if people are rude to her she'll still heal them but every now and then she pretends not to have seen them dying. Feel like she loves Jean or Kokomi and she def mains Barbara.
Mikasa~ Friend that got into it because of another friend (Eren obv)
"I hit AR 46 yesterday, how high is Eren now?" Eren probably didn't even tell her about the game she just watched him play it and asked Armin what it was later. Doesn't get the fun of it at all for the longest time but she wants to play with Eren so she ends up speed running and in less than a month she's got all level eighty or higher characters and just completed the last archon quest. I doubt she has a favorite character but she really likes traveler then ends up getting rid of them because Eren told her to build other characters instead.

Goodbye & Broppy
After the song was released, I felt the need of doing something I haven't done in a while for the Trolls fandom: an in-depth analysis.
The lyrics of the song were a real tearjerker; the separation, the longing, the sadness, the impression of giving up as the only option... And, considering it said Justin Timberlake was supposed to sing it, and the mentions of "My queen", "My love"; it totally sounds like a Broppy song.
Now, I know @georgebeard mentioned they'd talked to an animator who confirmed the scene was indeed deleted from the film. However, as a loyal and experienced member of the Miraculous fandom, I know better than to cross out the possibility of being misled in order to avoid spoilers (I'm looking at you guys, Chloé redemption, Félix , and Chat Blanc). So, there's that.
And even if the song did not make it in the end, we must not forget the first movie and its extra content.
If you purchased a DVD copy (like myself), or were obsessed enough to search for every possible Trolls-related video on YouTube (like myself), you must have surely found the deleted scenes from the film.
Poppy's dresses.
Poppy's storytelling.
"Bringing Back Happy."
And that's what I wanna talk about!
Bringing Back Happy was a, rather early (considering its storyboard stage), villain song that Chef was supposed to sing. So, even if Goodbye doesn't make it into Trolls World Tour, the chances of it appearing as extra content are pretty high, considering it was even mentioned before the release of the movie.
If that weren't enough for ya, there's more. Don't worry.
As I mentioned earlier, if you're familiar with the deleted scenes, you'll know 2/3 were in a very advanced stage of animation before being scrapped. Not to mention, the one major change we got no info about: turning Poppy's coronation party to the 20 year anniversary since they escaped the bergens. Again, a scene so advanced in its animation stage that even made it to the trailer!
Moreover, there's this detail in the very first trailer of Trolls World Tour that stuck with me: Branch's quote "This is a terrible idea that will blow up in your face!"
Which, if we compare it to his supportive attitude in the latest trailer ("I'm coming with you"), is completely different and even unexpected.
And that leads me to this: there are many reasons why a scene would be deleted; it gives a character a quality they didn't want, Chef didn't get to sing because it made her too funny, while Poppy didn't wear her dresses because it made her look spoiled; it becomes longer than they expected, another reason for the dresses and, I think, for the storytelling; or it changes the vibe of the movie greatly (if you guys knew the original script for How to train your dragon 2...).
On a side note, I remember a post from long ago that explained that one of the reasons its OP liked trolls so much was because, unlike the vast majority of films, Poppy and Branch never really had a fall out. They were always together.
What do I mean with this?
What if their fall out happens in this movie? What if Branch says that line out of frustration and Poppy and him, both devastated, are forced to go their separate ways?
That would be the perfect cue for a song as romantic and heartbreaking as Goodbye.
Not to mention, it would also explain how on Earth Poppy could be captured by Barb, alone. Because there's no way Branch wouldn't go down with her otherwise, and you know it.
Now that the song analysis and theorizing is out of the way, let's move on to the deeper part of the analysis: Broppy itself.
As someone who's been a hardcore Broppy shipper even before watching the movie, you can believe me when I say that it'll devastate me if they killed Broppy.
Even so, I also consider myself as someone both highly emotional and analytical, hence, why I create such analysis on the things I love. Trolls being no exception.
Something I want to talk about to make you all understand my point of view is the way Dreamworks works (as I see it). And for that, I'd like to compare Trolls, HTTYD, their tv shows, and their main ships, Broppy and Hiccstrid; respectively.
If there's something I've noticed about Dreamworks and Disney, that's that Disney movies have a much greater stand-alone value than Dreamworks'. That's why 95% of its films end with an extra-official couple or why their sequels are either shitty compared to the original (Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mulan...) or a fucking masterpiece. I mean, take Frozen, for instance. The film made a major point on criticising Disney's "I get together with someone I barely know and we live happily ever after" trope. And yet, even if it was much subtler and less intense than usual, that's exactly what happened with Anna and Kristoff. Maybe they weren't married, but they got officially together. And as for Frozen II... I haven't seen it, but I've been told it's very, very different than the first one, and very, very good.
So, yeah. Stand-alone value.
But Dreamworks... Dreamworks manages to reach beautiful conclusions that, at the same time, let the plot perfectly open for more stories to be told.
Seriously, just watch How to Train your Dragon!
Every film had its ending, but it also made you wonder what was gonna happen next. It made you understand that the saga wasn't over, just a part of it. And I think that's what they're trying to achieve with Trolls.
I mean, sure. The plot of the sequel wasn't what we expected at all and made many of us think about the astounding amount of fanfics that delved in the possible existence of different kinds of trolls... But it left us all with one question in our minds, "what now?" And, at the same time, the film had reached a beautiful conclusion.
See what I mean?
I wholeheartedly believe this is something Dreamworks aim to achieve with its pairings. They don't want them to be rushed, they want to develop them. Sure, they want us to see there are ships, but they strive to form deep, strong relationships with much more meaning behind than just sharing an adventure together.
And that, that is something I can clearly see with Hiccstrid and Broppy.
If we take HTTYD, the hints on the romantic relationship between Hiccup and Astrid were even greater than Poppy and Branch's. Heck, they even kissed. And you know what was their official description for Riders of Berk to half of Race to the Edge? Not-so-platonic best friends.
But that's because they took the time to naturally develop and strengthen their bond!
Which is what I think is supposed to happen to Poppy and Branch.
Sure, they are close. Sure, they were on a life-changing adventure together. Sure, they are countless hints on their romantic feelings.
But they still spent 20 years being practically strangers.
They still need to learn how to be a team together. They still need to learn how the other works. They still need some basic ground.
If we keep on comparing the two films, we must not forget that HTTYD 2, despite having Hiccup and Astrid as betrothed, wasn't as heavy on their romance as the first and third movie were.
Because the focus of the film was Hiccup becoming a leader. Not becoming Astrid's husband.
And, considering the plot of Trolls World Tour, it's still very possible that it won't be as heavy on Broppy as it was the prequel. After all, TWT is more about diversity and harmony than happiness, which is what made the contrast between the optimistic princess and the cynical survivalist so important for Trolls.
But, please, fear not. This does not necessarily mean that Broppy is dead. It just means we might have to be careful about letting our hopes up and, more importantly, in case nothing is conclusive about these two in Trolls World Tour, that we just have to be a little more patient.
After all, a good written ship never disappoints.

WELCOME BACK!
<3 I really missed you, and it’s so great to hear you had fun! (and omg yes so ready to see all those beautiful pics)
Yaaayyyy join me in MCU feels hell. And oooh, you have a ship for the fandom now! Like, Stoki’s still my favorite Steve pairing but Stony’s really cool too…you know I ship almost everything XD (also am I the only person who sorta hated almost everyone by the end of CW? Like, of course they’re still my favs and there are still some cinnamon rolls, but, come on. Why couldn’t you all just get along ;-;)
Speaking of Illumi, do you know that Hisoka/Illumi is an incredibly popular ship in the HxH fandom? Probably because both of them are so horrible that they have like 0 friends other than each other. Nobody else wants to hang out with these losers. (Chrollo tolerates Hisoka and the adults in Illumi’s family seem to spend enough time with him to give him orders, but that’s about it.) It’s a trash ship with two trashy people and tbh I love it XD
So continuing with the eye jokes, imagine. Hisoillu version of Helpless. Hisoillu version of Satisfied.
“Look into his eyes and the sky’s the limit”
“Intelligent eyes in a hunger-pang frame”
(I know you did thise one before but still) “But when I fantasize at night, it’s Illumi’s eyes”
just, I’m imagining animatics for this with the ‘camera’ zooming in on Illumi’s dead fish eyes every time the lyrics mention them. It’s hilarious and also mildly terrifying
(though I guess if we’re actually making a Hamilton AU Hisoka’s way more likely to do something like Say No To This…)
idk if I’d want to be a parent either really LOL. Kids are adorable but I don’t think I’ll ever be responsible enough to raise one…
If Ishida makes a plot twist or something about it being someone else pretending to be Hide I'm actually gonna get mad. Dude. Not only would that bring the Hide feels right back it’d just make absolutely no sense omg
(also you read the new chapter, right? So, let’s talk about Juuzou and that huge death flag)
I’ve heard of Soul Eater and considered reading it but it’s not really the kind of thing I’m into…artwork’s cute, though, and Death the Kid seems like an interesting guy so maybe someday XD
AGH I’M ACTUALLY SORTA JEALOUS BECAUSE WOW I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO WATCH THAT LEGALLY HERE IN KOREA. (unless I ask my dad for help but he doesn’t like manga/anime at all, so…) But yes, I’m really happy Lizzy finally got her moment this time! Now anime-only fans can’t complain about her being a ‘shallow’ character so hopefully there’ll be less fighting over Lizzy in the Kuro fandom :D
FINALLY. Fellow Death Note fan <3333 Who’s your fav? Do you have any ships? Are you done with the anime??? :D (also do you know…you picked a really interesting time to join the DN fandom. The American live-action movie just came out and it sucks so freaking bad, like I haven’t even watched it yet and just from the reviews/clips, here’s what I got:
-They turned Misa into this Harley Quinn-type character. Only without any depth.
-Light/Misa is an actual canon ship, like, it’s not abusive or one-sided like it is in the anime/manga, it’s just…a thing. Light loves Misa. Misa loves Light. It’s like every cringey high school romance movie ever, only with more murder
-They freaking bent the Death Note rules just so Light could get away with all sorts of ridiculous stuff
-L cries, L rants, L is overly emotional
-Light tells L where he hid a page from his Death Note. Light doesn’t deny being Kira. Light shows Misa his Death Note when they like barely know each other and she’s still a complete stranger to him. Light acts like an idiot.
-Oh sure, he’s Kira, God of the New World, but he still cares about going to prom with his girlfriend and making stupid faces as they pose for pictures
-So much unnecessary gore. Heart attacks are Kira’s thing, Light isn’t that emotional about his kills, he doesn’t care as long as the 'villains’ are dead, so why???
-Apparently Rem does not exist. Sayu doesn't exist either. Light’s mom is dead (probably so he can angst over her)
-Light Turner. Light TURNER. Out of all the surnames they could have chosen…
-And now, for the most unforgivable sin:
How dare they not include the Potato Chip scene)
And then random things: JJ and Light have the same voice actor. Yurio and Mello (imo…have you met Mello yet?) could be long-lost twins.
Also:
I’ve fallen into Steven Universe hell and now I’m imagining so. Many. Gem AUs. Have you ever heard of SU?
(look:
1- don’t stress about the messages, and come on, I’d never get mad at you over something like this! You’re way too awesome.
2- I don’t really know what to say 'cause I’m bad at comforting people, but ugh, it sucks to hear that school’s tiring you out! Queen Luna’s gonna get through this, though. I mean, you’re great at so many things and you’re freaking smart and…this is awkward but maybe you understand Evans Language by now? XD Guess I’m just trying to say that I’m sure you’ll do great, and if you ever need someone to talk to I’m (almost) always free *hugs*
3- Um. So, other than tumblr, I think the only way I can talk with you right now is if we email each other? The email address I used this time is my real one (or rather, my dad’s, since I don’t have one of my own yet…) so maybe we can talk about this more through email and find a better way to contact each other? If that’s ok with you can you send me a message there?)
P.S:
I’ve started college and have no idea what I’m doing
*slams head against keyboard* guess who managed to get sick. It’s only been a week since school started. Whatever, I’m still going to school, but I woke up breathing like a fish on land, bc asthma. Yay.
I’m definitely gonna upload the pics today!!
Okay, but one thing I’m wondering about, is How? Not in a malicious way or anything, I’m genuinely curious to why you ship Stoki (and where it began). Was it that redemption fic you told me about or did you ship it before?
Tbh, I didn’t hate the characters in CW, I hated the situation. Because there’s so so much pointless conflict that could easily be solved if everyone sat down and talked like normal people. But nooo we have to go around attacking each other. ((ALSO CAP’S LETTER TO TONY, I AM DEAD))
I’ve already learned (and experienced) that shipping is a very weird and unusual thing, so I’ll be honest and say I’m not even surprised that ship exists. At least it has some basis XD
I’m actually tempted to go through the lyrics of the whole musical and find every single eye line there is, only to replace it w Illumi’s eyes.
Not only zooming in on the eyes, the word itself is louder than the rest XD man if only I could draw…
Tbh I’d say I’m responsible enough (HA, that’s more or less a lie), but I’m honestly way too irritated with the little ones to be able to have one of my own. My cousin recently celebrated her 3rd bday and I was stuck looking after her during the party, bc all the adults were talking among themselves and I swear to god, I haven’t moved that much since I had to run 2km for PE. Where do they get their energy. Not to mention the adults thought it would be a good idea to leave me w her, because I’d already drunk 3 glasses of wine (i was bored and not allowed to do anything other than stare at emptiness or look after a 3yo). Turns out my tolerance isn’t that bad after all.
Lol let’s be honest, Ishida would totally do that. He knows the fandom would riot and that’s the whole point.
All the death flags. Tbh I don’t know how I feel about it. It’s obvious that either Touka or Juuzou are probably gonna die and I wan’t neither (If I have to choose tho, I’d rather Juuzou survives.) Also Naki. HNNNNNNGH
I think you’d actually like the manga? It takes a pretty dark turn compared to the anime and deals with lots of mental issues (the whole theme of the later volumes is Madness). Also, lots of death XD Well, the artwork changes drastically, so which one are you talking about XD
The girl in the coat (left first pic, middle 2nd) is the same person for reference. Death the Kid was one of my first anime crushes. The guy has OCD and is a total badass.
MUHAHAHAHA I think someone uploaded the Lizzy fight to youtube so you can probably find it there, but I am in love. The animation is beautiful, so that’s also a huge plus. All in all, it was handled really well.
Death Note
So last I’ve watched is ep 25, aka the one WHERE L DIES. And i am not okay. I am nowhere near okay. Nope. Not at all.
Oh i’ve heard all about the adaptation. Tbh I find the whitewashing hilarious. Setting the movie in America removes so much of the series’s logic, so why? L being the way he is is probably my favourite mistake. They took the best character and ruined him completely. POTATO CHIP SCENE NOOOO But my question is: did everything go just according to the keikaku?
Have fun w SU! I’ve watched it for a while, but gave up at some point. I might pick it up again if I have the time ^^ Word of advice, watch out for the fandom, they’re among the most toxic ones I’ve ever encountered. One time, they almost drove an artist to suicide because she didn’t draw Rose ‘thick enough’. So yeah.
What did I do to deserve you as my friend TT^TT Thank you so so much, those words mean more than you can imagine.
Um. Looks like we’ll be staying here, because I never, ever check my mail, despite getting school assignments there, so yeah. If we used mail, you’d probably get a response every leap year.
How does the education system work in Korea? Like, at what age do you start going to which school?
Also, I’ve told you about Mystic Messenger? I think you’d like the newest update, because damn, it’s creeping me out. Also, it’s in Korean, so + ((My thoughts during the prologue of the new route: Nani the fuck))
