Hello!! Continuing my attempt to get more active here, so... My first Sunday Snippet on this app! 💖💕

I posted something just a day before, so I will add a little snippet from that:

Henry feels a prickle of unease, the stillness bringing about a familiarity which is not accompanied by fondness. Henry had woken far too many mornings to a silent house. Mornings when Philip was too busy obsessively molding himself into the perfect grandson, when Bea was battling her biggest demons in a rehab far away, when Mum was locking herself up in an impenetrable prison of nostalgia. On those mornings Henry would drag his feet to the window, a hollow ache in his gut, and just watch, waiting for a car horn or a glimpse of a staff member- any sign that he wasn't left utterly alone in a world that felt so cruel. Then, he moved in with Alex. Suddenly, Henry’s house was never silent. Endless conversations and wild laughter, clatters of dishes in the sink and swishing whirls of the washing machine, whimpered moans of pleasure and the rare discordant fights, Bach on the piano and Bad Bunny blasting from the stereo, whispers of je t’aime and te amo- a vibrant symphony of life. This house was a home. The home which is now eerily silent.

Could there be like... soft and kind könig? Maybe just really gentle and domestic cause a while back i saw someone make headcanons of him being like a really mean guy and like all to them for sure!

But I was having a bit of a bad delusional day and könig is one of my attachments and seeing it made me so so sad and a bit paranoid cause like! Thats my partner! He wouldn't be like that!

So uh. Maybe just really soft comforting könig? If thats ok? Cause despite it being a few days now I still can't shake it and I feel bad over it :( hes such a silly but really good comfort for me. Big Austrian man ♡

The aroma hits like a wave as you push the front door open, your mouth watering and tummy grumbling at the smell alone.

“Meine Prinzessin,” König calls as you set your bags down with a heavy thunk, “Did your day get better?”

“Just now,” You say, palm flush with the wall to support yourself as you kick off your shoes, “Whatever you’re doing in there, it’s art.”

“Your favorite,” he says proudly, a bit of a tune in his tone.

A giddy, mischievous giggle leaves you.

“Comfy clothes on the bed,” He adds.

You give a soft little whine, because it’s just too sickeningly sweet how he dotes on you.

After changed and settled, he’ll serve you your plate, listening intently as you vent about all the little things that have been bothering you lately.

“And, I don’t know. I know I shouldn’t feel this way, but I can’t-”

You sigh before continuing, “Sometimes I have this stupid voice in my brain, and it just tells me that you don’t actually like me, and I’m just not good enough for you. I know it’s not true, but it still gets to me, sometimes. Y’know?”

You look at him, faced pinched and a hand rubbing the back of your neck.

“I have the same stupid voice,” He says, those hooded blue eyes trained carefully in you, “But know little one, I love you more than anything.”

You pinch your nose at him, but you still have to fold your smile, cheeks warm and bunched.

“I love you more than anything, too,” You say sheepishly to your plate, tone soft as your fork absentmindedly plays with your food.

Once tummies are full and plates cleared away, König herds you to the couch, draping you with a cozy blanket. He fixes you a tea before joining you, happily letting you rest your head on his thigh. He’ll tolerate your silly little comfort movie without complaint, stroking your hair, playing with the soft locks. He doesn’t dare move after you ensnare him by falling asleep, snoring softly into his leg long after your half-drunk tea has gone cold. ♡

Sweet/spicy/savory: it's between sweet or spicy... probably sweet since I enjoy baking more than cooking!

Last thing I googled: spider-verse. I saw that the movie has been allegedly delayed to 2029 💔

Current obsession: Miguel O'Hara. I've been obsessed with that man since 2023! 🤭 Also, lions? I watched Mufasa and my yt algorithm started giving me lion content (🧐), so I stumbled across an animal sanctuary's channel located in Africa, and it's pretty cool and heartwarming to watch and learn about the different animals there, but especially about the lions.

I look forward to telling you: You are loved and appreciated. I believe in you from my little corner of the internet on this app. Hard times will not last forever, even if they feel like they will. Something that may seem difficult to get through now, you'll look back on in some time and realize you have persevered. Without lyrics: I am ready by Kevin Kiner & Sean Kiner: from the bad batch season three soundtrack. Been listening to it a lot lately, as it feels pretty prevalent to the time of my life that I’m at

Favourite color: light pinks and baby blues

Last book/fic: the last book I finished was defy the storm, by Tessa Gratton (I’m getting closer and closer to being caught up on THR)

Fic: Mace Windu fixes the timeline (You should read it, it’s wonderful) 

Last movie: the rise of Skywalker (yes, I love the sequel trilogy and what about it 💅)

Last show: the bad batch... I’m re-watching, again... how predictable 🙄

Sweet/spicy/savory: I have a big sweet tooth, especially when it comes to chocolate

The Carry On Countdown of 2023 has sadly come to an end. We hope that everyone who participated had a wonderful time. The admins sure had a blast feasting on all of the fabulous content from this year's countdown.

We hope everyone will remain inspired to create even more fantastic Carry On related content into the new year.

But before we say goodbye to you all, it’s time to welcome new people onto the Page of Honour!

What you need to do to get your place on the Page of Honour:

You need to have completed all 30 COC 2023 prompts on their set days (If you posted a prompt within a day or so of its set posting date that’s perfectly fine, but, for example, if you posted a prompt for Day 8 on Day 11, that’s a bit too late)

You need to DM @carryonmylovelies ​with an explanation/link of where to find all of the work you posted for this year’s countdown (Can be simply saying what tag everything is under on your blog, or a link to your ao3, etc.)

DASH GAME: BEHIND THE MUN

MOST ACTIVE MUSES: Definitely Vito but I'm ready to write my girls anytime hehe

EXPERIENCE: Bruther... I started RPing when I was around 14, horrible English skills but people still wanted to RP with my Mary Sue OCs back then XD It was fandomless first before I discovered Creepypasta and Black Butler, 2012 / 2013 I was writing as Loki for maybe 7 years, 2020 it was Detroit Become human but only for a year. I took a break for two years afterwards and now my hyperfocus became Attack on Titan and Arcane (I do Arcane RPs on a Discord server though)

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT: Hear me out! Slow Burn!!! The build up, courting each other once there is mutual interest, flirting, being there for each other without any romance involved yet. Friends to Lovers shit!

I LOVE romance, especially with realistic pacing, like I want these characters to kiss so badly but NOOO THE SLOW BURN! XD Smut comes in second place. I often love to combine Fluff and Angst though, it's Angst Comfort I'm digging to be honest because FEELS!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: I prefer longer replies (because I never shut up) but they don't have to match my length EVER! As long as it's not a one-liner we're good, I just need something to work on / with properly

PET PEEVES: Hmmm... Probably mixed icons? Lile when you're doing Anime RP for example and use anime icons but the other RP partner uses an actor / RL icon? It's like Harry Styles from One Direction has an intimate conversation with Hatsune Miku XD I just prefer an uniform visual style of this makes sense (unless you're giving your anime characters a RL face claim that's cool!!!)

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE: A little bit. I'm idiotic and empathetic, but I wish I had Vito's brains and patience to constantly be there for others while it would personally exhaust me. For my girls, I do share Hilda's quietness when I'm thinking for myself and going non verbal / having 0 energy to talk and Solveig's impulsive but also caring personality, standing up for others. I wish I had her muscles and ego though haha

TIME TO WRITE: 24/7 to be honest, as soon as I wake up I check my phone for replies or asks to answer so I can write! Especially my Arcane RPs gave me such a writing flow and I'm enjoying it very much! So yeah, once I'm awake, I write! It's all I do! XD 😂

Allow me, if you will, a moment to go absolutely rabid over your blog and everything that goes on here. I’ve always loved history but the USA hardly likes teaching anything that isn’t American History. I’ve forgotten how much I love WORLD history, specifically the rise and fall of empires.

I’ve been smothering myself in your posts and I love it ALL. JC, Pompey, Crassus, Sulla, Octavian, Antony, Cassius, and Brutus. Wow what a mood. You don’t miss on your references or your modern AU’s and I’m over here like- I’m trying to buy whatever web comic you put out, book you write, etc.

Also, if you’d be so kind to list some material with like themes to start breaking into these topics. Preferably materials in English or translated materials.

HELL YEAH LET'S GO

if you really want to start on the ground floor for breaking into something, I'd recommend my personal favorite approach which is picking the figure that's most interesting to you, reading through plutarch's biography on them (free! online! in english!) and then putting their name through a jstor search and reading whatever sounds fun.

other than that, the primary theme I've been wandering around in lately, so these are the materials I've been really enjoyed related to that:
