yes! they have similar archetypes and suffer from similar upbringing too. high-ranking fathers who disdain them and prefer their able bodied first son better (which though lyonel and tywin are not that similar, they did raise their house from relative obscurity as they rose in ranks too very quickly), disabled (and all that implies socially) studious resentful of their brother, their fathers' sons, rose just as quickly in the ranks in times of turmoil, they both have tantalizing links to magic, links to targaryens, etc etc. more than larys being a proto tyrion, he's heir to tyrion's role in the story... that's how you know george likes a good scheming.
