what if you were in middle school and you were routinely discriminated by the rest of your schoolmates for no reason other than maybe being bad at math. what if there was a teacher who finally understood and gave everything he could to protect and teach you. and he sees you and accepts you and equips you with a second blade. and since he's going to die anyway he might as well use every part of himself, all the gritty bits he learned from being an assassin, to teach his students. AND THEN YOUR CLASS HAD A CIVIL WAR TO DECIDE ON WHETHER TO KILL HIM. AND YOU KILLED YOUR OWN WILLING TEACHER WITH A KNIFE TO HIS HEART. while he smiled peacefully because he knew his time was up and said, "congrats on your graduation" while disintegrating into a million glowing lights.

and that's not even half of it. as a fan of both series i can say with my full chest that korosensei is definitely more tragic. like ok yeah canary jimmy dies. but he always comes back because he's a mine craft block person. but the POINT of assassination classroom is that they have to assassinate their teacher. it's unavoidable. he's doomed by the genre, the plot, the entire gimmick. also canary jimmy is funny.
