#rat rambles #band posting #random card au #tbf both her mom and her sister were murdered (ish) by the government so its less ideological and more self preservation #but still she definitely was willing to go to great lengths to achive that self preservation before ako had her whole identity crisis after #learning the depths of her family's history and warcrimes #long story short theres this very large underground library that acted as a base of operations and as well. a library for the longest #standing rebel group in the kingdom #over the past decade however theyve been slowly spreading out throughout the kingdom after the death of toyama mom and the revelation that #one of their most respected members was a spy #without many left with access to the library kasumi was basically the only one who had one of the access keys for a while #after she got cursed she tried to give it to asuka and begged her to keep it safe and to take care of the library #but asuka was left so fucked up by that mess that for the next several years she basically shoved it under the floorboards and tried to #forget abt it #but after she started working at the royal palace she started getting really paranoid especially as ako started to hang around her more #so she cracked and turned it in to ako but ako thought the idea of a old rebel library was sick as hell so she just had to check it out #causing asuka to be like check it out just to comfirm Im being truthful and loyal right. right. right. please.#ako is alas more of a puppet queen than anything but once the main plot settles down she isnt completely devoid of power #for most of her and asuka's side plot its just ako being horrified as she digs deeper and deeper into her family's horrific history #and asuka initially trying to stop her but slowly but surely being broken down as the morals shes been trying to suppress resurface #eventually asuka finally lets some of the beans slip and ako makes it her new goal to figure out a way to undo the curse her family created #somewhere in the distance rokka feels as if shes been cut out of a romance plot that she was originally intended to be a part of #it's ok u deserve so much better anyways those two are both bitter messes #well ok so is rokka but shes been tormented by god her whole life shes earned some rage #guy tormented by god an ex queen and an atheist walk into a bar theyre a party and also didnt know this was a bar cause theyre blind #tbf even if tomoe could see well she is also mostly illiterate hashtag brain damage moments #rokka and ran just need glasses tho #ako and asuka get to have their pristine eyesight at least #rly helps them learn abt the warcrimes that theyve been blind to willingly or not #also fun fact! shiho shizuku and kohane were the ones who founded this rebel group and first made the library 👍
