an extremely good Nefret Cat Thing is the process of her disappearances under the armchair, where her cat bed lives

there's a long stretch of highly suspicious inspection, as if one of Baby Sister's Hated Cats might somehow be lurking there despite not currently being part of the household, and then finally a lowering of the body and a slow fat wriggle into darkness

like a soldier edging forward on their belly thru enemy territory except the soldier is a fat white cat and the enemy is wholly imaginary

#one of these days i will think of it in time to take a video #it never occurs to me until she's far enough thru the wriggling stage that it would be over by the time i got set up #nefret cat #catblogging #domesticities #she is not in fact Nefret Cat at all times #originally it was just nefret and often in casual use it is nef and then when i'm feeling very babying it is nifflet or even niffle-iffle #said in a very 'what a delightful surprise it is to see & squish you!' sort of voice #but somehow on here it became nefret cat and i love that for her #a milnean level of archly absurd formality #or possibly something out of the just so stories‚ idk #there probably *is* a specific stylistic reference i'm just not quite identifying right now #but it's something in that register i think #anyway.#some Good Cat Nonsense for yr caturdays.
