watching mice & murder and thinking about how cool a ttrpg with disco elysium game mechanics would be
#like idk theyre just playing normal dnd rn which is fine but like a lot of it is brennan going like#okay you found x so roll with advantage or you did y so roll with disadvantage#but like say you add the bonus modifiers like de where like certain clues you find or actions add certain amounts to the rolls#or even the red and white checks like that could be really interesting#the way the thoughts and skills work could also be really cool too...#also the way a lot of times failing a check is a better outcome than passing it#and dnd skills are just. not well equipped for detective style games#like rn sams making a roll to quickly close a gate which would be perfect for reaction speed#but since dnd doesnt have that it translates to opposed athletics????? i guess?#im sure ppl have translated de to a ttrpg before i mean they literally made a fictional one in game#but its like. all i can think abt rn lol
