Just spent over an hour searching for the static Ho-oh in the overworld and suddenly Ryuji taking literal years to reunite with his family makes sense to me now
#mel's musings#forest for the tree#the joke is that during his deadbeat era he was off doing the exact same thing. hunting for legendary pokemon to show his daughter#at least my ho-oh was stuck in one spot. HE on the other hand had to find that bastard roaming. makes sense it took so long#denise's dad is an enigma to me. he's not a bad dude at his core but he has VERY misguided ways of showing he cares#case in point: trying to make dena happy by helping her meet the pokemon she's been fascinated with since childhood#except this idea was born from him just straight up abandoning her and her mom. which is THE root of almost all her Issues™#he also lacks emotional maturity and is utterly incapable of seeing things beyond his own perspective sometimes#when his arguments with jen reach a breaking point he takes it as a sign she doesn't love him anymore#rather than recognizing they're both impatient by nature and not the best communicators and probably got married too young#and instead of analyzing his own feelings or talking them out with her (or you know. going to therapy) he just. leaves#his decision IS motivated by love in a way. because he thinks she'd be happier without him. but it's mostly just insecurity and fear#and he does feel bad that little dena got caught in the crossfire. so he tries to make it up to her in his own way#dena's conflicting feelings about his re-entry into her life is a WHOLE other can of worms to be honest#because she doesn't even realize how angry she is with him until she sees him again. she doesn't forgive him right away#but she's at least willing to give him the chance to prove himself again. bc that 10 year old girl who wanted her dad back never died ;_;#why is it that every time i try to be funny on tumblr dot com i end up writing emotional ass meta instead. how does this always happen#this was supposed to be a joke about dena's ho-oh hunt going about as well as her dad's. like father like daughter or some shit yk#ANYWAY that ho-oh sucks and i hope he lands on a stealth rock. good riddance#mel plays scarvi

Ok I know you responded to this post a long time ago, but you're so right about Damon being the one to mastermind and manipulate both Bonnie and Kai (her hatred for him/the whole prison abandonment thing and Kai's unrequited feelings for Bonnie/guilt). Hilarious they tried to make Damon look like the hero by end of season 6, that's why it feels cheap when he reluctantly rescues Bonnie. Yes, Damon caused the domino effect in the first place. When really, all he cared about was freeing his crazy mother. So as usual, Damon is just using people to get what he wants. He was the one giving Kai hope under false pretense, while at the same time toying with Bonnie's emotions knowing she wanted nothing to do with them both. Difference is Kai was ACTUALLY sorry & trying to make amends. Can you imagine the bonkai fluff we missed out on that could have been squeezed out of this dilemma?! Meanwhile, Damon was just trying to weasel his way back into her good graces bc he needed to use Bonnie's magic again...for the millionth time.
There's definitely some discrepancies in the writing as well...Bonnie blames Kai for her suicide attempt, yet she already had a suicide pact with Damon prior to meeting Kai. I'm not buying that whole Damon had more remorse than Kai thing either. Kai tried to prove himself by saving Bonnie on her bday. You think if Bonnie knew that pertinent information she'd still want revenge on Kai so bad??! Either Damon and her friends carelessly withheld this info from her or the writers just got sloppy and left out key Bonnie backstory (its probably latter). Like this is classic drama 101, a good writer would actually want to capitalize off this & use it to their advantage but they left us bonkai fans hanging for no reason. So by extension, Kai is no less or more evil than Damon. I'm so sick of seeing fake Bonnie fans make that pointless argument. At least Kai had an excuse & at some point changed & was no longer a sociopath (post merge). Damon is just a reckless murderer who never learns his lesson, yet the fans think he's somehow more deserving of a meaningful relationship with Bonnie than Kai ever was *Eye roll*. She betrays him first by axe, then sends away her magic, telling Kai "i guess we're stuck here forever". Then acts shocked when Kai pays her back & leaves her in 1995. There's this misconception that bonkai stans overlook this, but we don't. We accept our ship for what it is. Bonnie deserved it... just like Kai deserved to be left in 1903. Obviously her leaving Kai in 1903 is justified, but that whole unforgiving act towards him falls apart bc she never-ever-once tried to do the same same with people like Stefan or Damon, who willingly betrayed her more than once (Enzos death/Abby's death). That's why they trash our favorite ship every chance they get...cognitive dissonance is really a thing. The Salvatores were never Bonnie's friends (at least only in theory) bc the writers did such a poor job at conveying what looked like a one sided relationship where the witch almost always happens to be cocered into using her magic either against her will and/or better judgment.
Bonnie shouldn't have lifted a finger to help anyone after season 6, considering the whole Kai bit supposedly "changed" her. Yet we never saw this development at all bc Bonnie was still annoyingly loyal to Elena & willing to risk life & limb for the same vampires who caused more trauma in her life than Kai ever did. Fans act like Kai was the worst thing to happen to Bonnie. If anything, it should have helped her see who her true friends really are. It's certainly not Damon. Lol & I say this as a Bamon fan, when done the right way.
I love everything about this Ask and I literally don't have anything to add.
Also cognitive dissonance - such a great phrase for describing how it sometimes feels to be a Bonkai shipper in the larger fandom.

i compiled some of my thoughts on dimitri enlisting miklan in ag for @sevarix-blogs bc it seems like a weird and kind of ooc thing to do for dimitri, but i have a few reasons why (from my point of view) it's acceptable and in character for him in the context of the game
the most important reason for dimitri making miklan a commander is that in his eyes, it is a necessary measure to the betterment of the protection of the people of faerghus, because faerghus is at war and all faerghans are under threat. the situation is dire. i think dimitri would do almost anything for his people - he talks about how nothing is more important than protecting his people really fervently at times in this game, saying that he is willing to kill for them and take the sins of slaughter upon himself so they won't have to carry that burden. he really dives deep into the idea that his subjects are his to protect as king and i think he would literally rather die than fail to keep his people safe from harm. and so i think that, as king, he would place the needs of his people above the wants of his friends, because he feels that this is his duty. a good king would place his people above his personal wants. however, i also think that he would never do something that actively hurts those closest to him.
and to continue with that thought: dimitri has discussed his decision with sylvain. sylvain is definitely not happy with miklan being back, but he has agreed that having him be a commander is at the very least good for the war effort, which is the main reason dimitri has brought him back at all. and i don't think dimitri is the kind of man to put his foot down and demand sylvain give in to his wants - and so if sylvain was truly against it, dimitri would have acquisced and never have enlisted miklan.
dimitri has something of a fatal flaw which is that he would give anyone a second chance except himself. he seeks reconciliation with edelgard in throuses even though she invaded his homeland and made his life a living hell. now the difference of course is that she is his thing and miklan is the cause of sylvain's trauma, so the decision isn't fully up to him. i don't think even he would give someone a second chance if he knows it would hurt people close to him. and in this case it does hurt sylvain to an extent, and he has had to make the decision between his people who he has a sworn duty to protect as king and his life-long friend as a person. and because this isn't just a regular old day but it is war and miklan's presence could prove vital to the war effort (which is what dimitri genuinely thinks, because good commanders are rare and miklan is a good commander who was taught everything the margrave knows), dimitri chooses the needs of his people, but again only after consulting sylvain.
people around dimtri are not uniformly happy with his decision but not all for the same reasons, and there are positive reactions too. ingrid does not like it because she has seen what miklan has done to sylvain over the years. felix is not happy with it but he mostly resents that dimitri never talked it over with anyone else apart from sylvain, because he does understand his reasoning. the people around the camp also have varied opinions on it - some think the king has gone mad (though they respect his decisions as king) and for others it is actually a sign that even if you've done bad things in the past, under king dimitri there's still a second chance for you and the possibility to rise though the ranks. i'm not saying that's necessarily a good thing when we're talking about a bandit who's pillaged and killed people, but dimitri does have a tendency to be overly forgiving. he never agreed with the margrave's decision to appoint sylvain as heir purely because he bears a crest, which perhaps influenced his thought process as well.
@garlandgerard has pointed this out already, but giving miklan a position in the army does stop him being a pillaging bandit. now fair's fair that dimitri never says that he enlists miklan for this reason, however miklan is clearly on the fence about the benefits of his position. he isn't really gloating about being in the king's service; he feels like he's being held on a short leash, like he's being held prisoner, which i think is pretty significant. apparently there are some stipulations around miklan's position that curb his range of actions that are serious enough for him to follow the king's orders. i mean, could be that he just gets paid very well, but then he could leave whenever he wants, and he doesn't strike me as the kind of person to just do it for the honour of it, so perhaps he might in fact get punished (severely) if he decides to defy the king after he's given him a commanding position in his own army
again this is why i personally think it is in character for dimitri to appoint miklan - no need to agree with it. i just think it must have been a hard decision to make because he does not want to harm his friends but that he ultimately chooses to do it because he genuinely thinks it'll help keep his people safe - and because he has ensured that sylvain understands his reasoning and will be able to bear it.

could you write headcannons or a fic of what u think would've happened in season 2 of lab rats elite force if it was continued ? i love ur writing sm!
Okay this is such a cool request because I honestly think about this way more than I should 😂
So here are some of my headcanons of what I think would’ve happened. Beware, this will be long because I have a lot of ideas...
So season 2 would have resumed to the fight against Rodissius, I feel like it would be an hour long special
I think we would have definitely seen some Chase angst with him blaming himself about letting Reese inside
We’d see some of the superheroes that the team is warning and/or asking help from
WE’D SEE HORACE AGAIN COME OUT OF HIDING AND EXPLAIN HE LET EVERYONE BELIEVE HE WAS DEAD SO HE COULD TREAT INJURED SUPERHEROES WITHOUT BEING TARGETED
That would be such a touching moment between him, Oliver, Kaz and Skylar
would also make a crack at chase being rude a little throwback from the crossover special lol
They’d ask him to help but he wouldn’t be able to because he has to continue helping the heros that have yet to regain their full strength
For the love of god I would hope to see Tecton, because I have an undeniable crush on him, at least once
A definite appearance from Leo and Adam for backup, maybe a few other bionic kids if the superheroes aren’t able to help
Also pretty much every superhero knew that Skylar lost her powers twice. Twice! Without chance of ever getting them back.
But then boom, she has powers again
Rodissius would undoubtedly search for answers of how that happened and trace it back to Chase
Which would lead to Chase getting kidnapped by Rodissius who would in turn make Chase look for a way to restore his powers
And in a sudden turn of events, Riker switches teams and helps the Elite Force
I mean during season one we see him express doubt about the whole thing
Like he left Roman to defend himself against the team
Which leads me to believe that he wanted no part in this but was heavily coerced into doing this
He tries to come in peace but obviously the team doesn’t trust him and he willingly gives himself up
The team comes up with a plan to use Riker as a bargaining chip for Chase but he tells them it won’t work
Why?
Because if there’s a chance that Rodissius might get his powers back, he’s willing to sacrifice his children to do so
So that plans scrapped and they’re back to square one
Until Riker tells them he can get them into wherever they’re hiding out
They agree but still keep him handcuffed so he can’t try anything
I’d say they manage to get inside and find Chase but are quickly trapped by Rodissius and his children
They think that Riker led them into a trap but he didn’t, Rodissius figured out they’d find the place when he noticed Riker was missing
Rodissius isn’t a man to give second chances so he easily disowns Riker
Don’t agree, go watch the ending scene in The List when he takes matters into his own hands
So that leads me to believe that once Riker tells him he willingly brought them then Rodissius would say something along the lines of
“You’re no son of mine, I didn’t raise a traitorous coward.”
Definitely thinks he has the Elite Force cornered but they made a plan in case Riker was leading them into a trap
They prove they aren’t trapped and a fight ensues
Definitely Roman vs Riker scenes where Roman pulls some crap about betraying family
Riker counters with saying they stopped being a family the minute they decided to stop helping people
BC LISTEN RIKER IS A GOOD PERSON WHO WAS MANIPULATED BY HIS FATHER
They manage to capture Rodissius and most of his children
Roman gets away for the sake of plot of course
They inform the superheroes and Rodissius and his children are taken away to Mighty Max
They ask Riker to join the team but he declines saying he needs to look for Roman who is still out there but promises to inform them on any information he finds
Now onto the aftermath
Okay so Douglas got injured by Reese when she did her mojo on his face
And obviously it seemed like he was rendered sightless
But I would say he didn’t lose his sight although it is going to take time before he completely recovers
Reese is the turning point in Chase’s trust and he would kind of close himself off
There would be an episode in dealing with that
I mean he’s been betrayed so many times by people he’s considered friends
Marcus, Sebastian and now Reese who he thought genuinely liked him
So definitely major trust issues there that need to be properly dealth with
I think he might try to like hide it away or play it off as he’s fine but there will be a couple of times where he lashes out
This would be a great brother/sister bonding moment if Bree is the one who helps him and obviously his friends
Definitely a “we’re a family, no one will ever mess with you like that again” moment with everyone
And that helps with his trust issues and whatnot
Okay onto Skylar and Oliver
THEY DEF BECOME A COUPLE OKAY DONT FIGHT ME ON THIS
I like to think that after fighting Rodissius and how they almost lost Chase after he was kidnapped, makes her realize that she doesn’t want to lose Oliver
So she makes it official and they become a couple
Um Bree also discovers a few more powers throughout the season
And Chase would unlock a few more hidden abilities
ALSO
With the new chip update, I think it would allow them to use more than one ability at once
So there would definitely be training in that because that would definitely come in handy
I think we would also see more growth in Oliver and Kaz’s powers since its shown that superheroes do in fact many, many superpowers
OH SEASON TWO WOULD BE HEAVY BASED ON CALDERA AND WHATS GOING ON WITH THE OPPOSITION
Since we never really got closure on what happened with the opposition
Also I don’t think that Scarlett actually died
For one that whole thing with her falling into the lava seemed sketchy
And I know it was for the sake of plot and whatever
But think about it, she was practically running the opposition or at least was high up on the chain of command
She’s not stupid and I doubt she forgot who close she was to the pit of lava
And second, all calderans have the same physiology bc they were genetically engineered the same way
So that means that Scarlett had the same powers as Skylar, all of them
And if you check Skylars wiki, its shows she had limb regrowth and super durability which means she’s pretty much indestructible
That would mean Scarlett too
So i think this was a tactic move on Scarletts move
Why? Well it was literally 5 against 1, not the greatest odds
So she needed to get away somehow and I think tricking them into believing she died was the best way
And to make them believe that the whole opposition thing was done and over with
But Scarlett did say that Caldera was torn so obviously there are more people on the opposition
So this way, Scarlett gains the upper hand in developing a better plan and kind of make the opposition grow more
And once that’s all said and done, she’s gonna reveal herself to Skylar as being alive
And that would prompt the team to return to Caldera to free everyone from the opposition’s control
So that’s definitely something that would be more touched on
And towards the remaining episodes of the season
It would go back onto Roman who devised a plan to help his dad and siblings escape Mighty Max and once again get revenge
We’d see Riker come back too, maybe show up at the team’s penthouse injured from fighting Roman
And explain what Roman’s up to but by then it would be too late bc Roman would have already succeeded
Also, Might Max was hundreds of feet below the hospital so I would say it’s still operational and they rebuilt the hospital right on top since they have to keep an eye out on the villains locked away
So i feel like what ever extractor they used to take away Rodissius’s powers is still there too
Roman would have found it and presented it to his father which he takes
They still pose a threat to his life but he doesn’t care bc he would rather have his powers and die than be powerless
And it’d be interesting to see how much more dangerous Rodissius is with his powers
I mean we saw what Reese could do so imagine the power Rodissius would have
Anyway, that’s my thoughts on what would happen/ what I’d like to have seen in season 2. If anybody has more headcanons, feel free to add to this list. I would definitely like to see what other people think!

Crueller than jealousy
An idea struck me where because of his low self-esteem, Geralt doesn’t get jealous. He just accepts that someone has decided what’s best for them and it’s not him. It never is. Even if it hurts, he puts aside his own aching heart and leaves that person in peace. So when Jaskier decides to try and make Geralt jealous and feel like a fool for casting him aside by having revenge sex, it backfires. Geralt doesn’t even fight to keep Jaskier even though he wants to so so badly, he wants to fight for him. But Jaskier has made his choice. And it’s not him.  (It gets worse when Geralt finds out he’s not Jaskier’s only witcher, which means he doesn’t have anything the bard wants that he can’t get from anyone else). Sample:
”Oh, Geralt,” Jaskier says, equal parts cheerful and pitying as he climbs off the lord, “I simply forgot you were coming,” Jaskier feels smug, and it’s a satisfying high, all for a moment, before he sees Geralt’s face crumple in a way he’s never seen it do before.
Geralt knows what he did was completely unfair and wrong about an hour after he’s done it, when the anger has evaporated off of him enough that he comes to his senses and realises that he has just left his bard up a dangerous mountain.
He searches and searches, so desperate to find him before a monster did that he ends up searching all night, just in case Jaskier is hurt somewhere in a crevasse with his leg broken, his voice too weak from dehydration to call out for help. When he finally makes it back down to Roach, he finds she’s been fed, that the rest of Jaskier’s things that were in Roach’s saddlebags are gone, and he smells the lingering scent of Jaskier’s cologne, so he takes comfort in the fact that the bard made it down the mountain at the very least. It’s hard to stay on the path at first, when all he wants to do is search out his friend, make things good between them again. It’s especially hard when he catches himself glancing over the fire light, or when he hears the start to Toss a Coin but he gets by. Geralt reminds himself that he is a witcher. Witchers didn’t have special people to go home to and he figures out that’s what he wanted of Jaskier after too many dreams where they’re laid together, tangled up in their sheets, naked, warm and safe. No, he doesn’t deserve the chance to redeem himself in the bard’s affections, especially not after what he said on the mountain. While he was away from Geralt- their on and off adventuring together, Jaskier encountered one or two witchers and ended up charming them into bed for companionship, meaning nothing by it. After the mountain Jaskier makes a point of bedding witchers to convince himself that Geralt isn’t special and there’s plenty of witchers worthy of ballads out there, even if he hasn’t been able to write anything but maudlin love songs for the past couple of months. Jaskier ends up taking a residency at a high end tavern on behalf of the lord he’s currently bedding. The man is kind and dotes on Jaskier, giving him a nice room upstairs where he can work on his songs and poems in peace. He doesn’t even mind when Jaskier has guests over, so long as they don’t linger. One night after passionate relations, Jaskier’s eyes flutter open and his heart seizes with fear. There’s a monster standing over them, with fangs sharp and eyes wild. He wants to call for help, but the man who owns the name on the tip of his tongue left him- didn’t want him. He lays there, thinking he’s going to die but his fingertips brush against the dagger- silver, pressed into his hand by Geralt one summer’s evening years ago after he was almost carried off by a harpy, hiding under his pillow. Jaskier slashes it across the bruxa’s face. She screeches and flees out the window. The lord orders his men to find a witcher to exterminate the threat before her blood his dry on the dagger.  Geralt has been dragged from across two towns by some lord that wants him to kill a vampire. He’s finished the job and he’s been paid, so he’s about to move on when he runs into Jaskier gazing longingly at a kalimba in the marketplace. He’s so focused on trying to weave through the crowd without causing too much commotion that he doesn’t even see Jaskier, who is so distracted by his love of mastering new exotic instruments he doesn’t even notice until he turns and steps face first into Geralt. They stand in close proximity, stunned by the other’s sudden reappearance. Geralt apologises immediately, before Jaskier can get over his stupor and peel off one of his clever, biting quips. He looks so sincere and sorry Jaskier leans up and whispers in Geralt’s ear, telling him ‘You can make it up to me later,’ and invites him to his room after dinner time to talk. Geralt agrees eagerly, and Jaskier leaves the marketplace, his heartbeat all over the place replaying the ‘I’m sorry I was cruel to you. i shouldn’t’ve have spoken to you like that. I miss you, and I know what I want now,’ in his head like a melody he was trying to assign lyrics to. When he gets back to the tavern, he’s disappointed in himself for not being angrier. He had told himself plenty of times that when he encountered Geralt again he wouldn’t fall into his kind, forgiving ways. He couldn’t let Geralt get off with just a few ‘I’m sorry’s and brooding looks. He has some dignity and sense of self value. Geralt has to suffer a consequence, just a bit so he thinks twice before yelling at Jaskier again and discarding him like a used rag. Though he can’t think of what he should do, he’s too excited thinking about what Geralt meant by I know what I want now. The lord comes over to tell him the bruxa is dead and he need not fear her wrath. The lord begins feeling him up when Jaskier decides, in his pettiness, that instead of explaining he has a guest coming and taking the lord’s hand out of his pants, to let Geralt catch him like this. To prove to him that he didn’t need him, that he could easily find a comfortable place to live out his days. Maybe then Geralt would pull his act together and never treat him like mange on a dog’s arse again. Meanwhile, Geralt has been rehearsing his apology in his head for the past couple of months. The one he spewed out at the marketplace was weak, and not enough. Not enough for the man that followed him for the better part of twenty years, looking at him as though he hung the stars in the sky, the man he sorely missed, the one he injured so gravely. Destiny has given him a chance to make it good again and he’s going to grab it with both hands. He bought the instrument Jaskier was so fascinated with, which he was nervously turning around in his grasp. A present to ease the conversation, but not one large enough that Jaskier might think he’s trying to buy his forgiveness. As he ascends the stairs, he can’t help feeling lucky that Jaskier wanted anything to do with him anymore. Knowing Jaskier, it’ll be hard to earn his trust again, but he’s willing to apologise every day from now until his death if it meant Jaskier didn’t hate him.
Jaskier doesn’t answer the door when he knocks and because Geralt travelled with him for years he’s savvy to Jaskier’s inability to lock a door so he turns the handle and steps inside. Geralt’s is frozen as he helplessly takes in the sight of Jaskier on top of another man and very clearly enjoying himself. Jaskier turns his head at the intrusion and huffs, faux annoyed. He’s not angry, or disgusted. Jaskier can’t even figure what he’d call the expression before Geralt is gone from the doorway without even a ‘hmm’. He’s out of the tavern before Jaskier can get his pants on to go after him. When he goes downstairs the next morning to take care of his few affairs before he leaves town, the tavern owner hands him a package, brown paper tied together with a yellow string. He unwraps it, guilty. He already knows who it’s from. It’s the kalimba he was looking at in the marketplace, only someone has taken a knife to the wood and delicately whittled a delineation of dandelions and buttercups onto it. Geralt kicks himself as he rides Roach hard away from the town. Of course Jaskier had someone else in his bed. Of course he didn’t want a freak like Geralt, with no fortune, no lands or titles, not even a home to shelter him during the winter, and no assurance he wouldn’t die the next job, leaving him alone. Of course Jaskier would choose a lord that would keep him comfortable and sated for the rest of his days. Geralt was the fool to believe Jaskier would want him.  It’s getting colder by the day and Jaskier can’t find Geralt anywhere, let alone hear heads or tails of him. On the road encounters Lambert again, having fucked him about a year ago for a week. That night at his camp site, Jaskier has too much fortified mead and tearfully explains the whole thing. Feeling pity for the bard and mirth at the idea of how much it would bother Geralt, Lambert decides to bring Jaskier to Kaer Morhen for the winter. Geralt isn’t there when they arrive and Jaskier is worried that Geralt, presumably still brooding, won’t even come to Kaer Morhen. The other witchers, handful of them, some familiar faces from overnight encounters, try to cheer him up. He plays some song and dines with the wolves. Vesemir is wise and kindly and offers Jaskier words of encouragement and assures him Geralt won’t hold a grudge. Finally after two days, Geralt leads Roach into the stables, shaking the snow from his hair. He smiles as he greets his mentor and his old friends. He goes upstairs to his old room, the one in the north wing that nobody wanted because the broken staircase was awfully hard to climb when you were drunk. Gods, Geralt couldn’t wait to get drunk and forget his problems just for one night. He comes down stairs and he thinks he’s dreaming when he sees Jaskier in a over jacket, pouring the surrounding witchers some mead. But he’s as real as the wind howling outside and Geralt hears his heart begin to race when their eyes meet.   ”Thought you’d be tucked away in one of your lord’s winter manors,” Jaskier mistakes the jab for banter and tries to follow it up, tries to pretend it’s the same as it used to be. ”No song there,” he says casually, “A winter in a Witcher’s keep sounds so much more interesting. Interesting bunch, you lot,” ”Why are you really here?” That’s his opportunity to ask to talk in private, to explain everything, to make things right but Lambert speaks first. ”The bard is our guest. He already familiar with Eskel, Aubry, and Nasir.” Lambert says and there’s a undertone that’s mean and snide, Jaskier doesn’t appreciate the way he says familiar. “Hell, I brought him here. Thought he could entertain us for the winter.” ”Familiar?” Geralt repeats, looking at the mentioned names. Then a look of understand blossoms over his face and his entire being turns sour. Geralt’s jaw clenches. He takes his plate and sits all the way down the table away from Jaskier and Lambert. Geralt says nothing else, through his aura is menacing, finishes his meal in dead silence, all the while feeling humiliated he stupidly let himself believe he was anything remarkable, unique, to Jaskier. When Lambert opens his mouth to try and incite some kind of response from the white wolf, Vesemir fixes him with a stern, dark look and his mouth clamps shut. They finish eating and clean up in the tense atmosphere. Some wolves stay downstairs to drink, and the younger ones are already howling as Jaskier goes up to Geralt door. Geralt refuses to open his door and it not until Jaskier finally manages to corner him in a broken stairwell in the dead of night, where there’s no room to dodge by him, does he get an opportunity to speak to him. ”Geralt, Geralt, wait, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean-” he tries, but Geralt won’t listen. He lifts Jaskier up by the waist and switches their positions. His hands around his waist makes Jaskier warm from the inside out. He tries to storm off but Jaskier clings to him desperately. Geralt brushes him off and continues down the hall. ”Please Geralt, please talk to me. I’m sorry I offended you during our last meeting, please can’t we talk?” ”Well done.” Geralt says, not turning around to face Jaskier. “You’ve hurt me in a measure proportionate to how I hurt you. Call it even and leave me be. Castle is plenty big enough that you and I won’t have to see each other over the winter.” ”Please Geralt, I know what I did was mean, but I love you.” Jaskier says, tears in his eyes, “I do, Geralt, I really do. I want to talk to you again. I miss you.” The rest of Geralt’s heart goes black and shrinks down to the size of a crab apple. The time where hearing that would’ve changed his life is long past, now it tastes bitter in his mouth. Geralt laughs in his face. They’re all same, his mother, Yennefer, Jaskier, they said loved him before they hurt him, like applying ice to the skin before a hot poker. And he was the heartless one when he pushed them away before they could hurt him.  ”I’m to believe there was something between us when at any opportunity you found another witcher to bed, some of them my brothers, to wring tales from so you could twist them into ballads? I don’t care that you did, we owe each other nothing. But you cannot honestly say what we had was special. I was never special to you.” ”You are,” Jaskier’s voice is croaky, his heart in his feet. How’d this all go wrong so quickly? ”I came to Kaer Morhen to find you,” Geralt sneers, ”Oh, pardon me, I thought you were here as Lambert’s guest.” ”Geralt, that’s not fair!” Jaskier cries out, “I didn’t know who he was when we slept together. And we were just friends,”  He’d take ‘just friends’ over this contempt, this terrible disdain. Then Geralt says something to him that hurts worst than what he said on the mountain. ”I mightn’t have been your only witcher, but you were my only bard.” And he goes to his room and closes the door firmly on Jaskier. Geralt leaves Kaer Morhen in the morning, the snow ankle deep and the frost setting in. Vesemir is worried that Geralt will have a hard time getting down the valley in the cold. Jaskier just feels like he lost a game without knowing the stakes.

aaaand goodbye teruteru
Tumblr media Tumblr media
------
Tumblr media
the what now
Tumblr media
I GOT STUCK HERE FOR SO FUCKING LONG BC THEY GIVE YOU THIS. PILE OF INCOMPREHENSIBLE INSTRUCTIONS AND THEN NONE OF IT MAKES ANY SENSE
in dr1 they had a similar mechanic where you had to hit the buttons at the right tempo to knock out their statements, which was also confusing but i was starting to get decently good at it by the end of the game, but in this one the timing is TOTALLY OFF and i kept missing every single one and couldn’t figure out why, then realized it worked sometimes if i held down the button instead of just clicking it like you do in dr1 (which they didn’t explain!!! in this one!!!) but eventually figured out if i just like. double clicked on the beat i could break them for some reason. i dont know why. it works and i cannot explain how
but then at the end when you reach the final strike, you have to put together a phrase out of four words to refute “where could the weapon have been?” and i was CONVINCED it was “On The Meat Bone” (even though technically it was hidden In the bone i guess) and i didnt realize i had the phrase wrong and thought i just wasn’t hitting it correctly for some reason so i failed this like 6 times before i finally realized it was MEAT ON THE BONE
Tumblr media
i understand owari’s not the type to give a shit probably but do you really wanna eat meat off of the skewer that was very recently repeatedly stabbed into a guy’s abdomen
even if he cleaned it off before he put it back thats still like, fucked up lmao
Tumblr media
monokuma took care of it though i guess :’ )
kind of alarming that he’s capable of eating now, but
Tumblr media
THANK YOU NANAMI
Tumblr media
,,,,ok
Tumblr media
I WILL SAY that the final closing sequence is WAY better in sdr2, it’s way way clearer what you’re looking for, the blanks give you hints as to what might go there, the picture options give you descriptions of what you’re looking at (frequently i know exactly what im trying to explain but cant figure out which picture goes where bc they’re just. incomprehensible out of context) and THEY FINALLY FIXED THE SCROLL THING :’)
i dont know if its just broken as hell with a laptop trackpad and maybe it works with a mouse (or maybe it’s just not designed for pc in the first place, this was originally. ps vita or something i think) but the scroll sensitivity was SO broken in dr1 i spent most of my time just trying desperately to scroll to the thing i needed without scrolling past it
i still have that problem when im trying to pick which truth bullet to fire but thats not As bad as this part was in dr1 at least
Tumblr media
ok so my bIGGEST PROBLEM WITH ALL THIS, is WHY DIDN’T TERUTERU TELL ANYBODY ABOUT THIS
if he Knew what komaeda was up to (and he did, it’s confirmed right after this) why didn’t he just go tell not-togami right away. even if he thought nobody would believe him, that guy would have taken it very seriously since he already was on his guard and knew there was a threat
i mean i guess like. he saw an opportunity to kill komaeda, which he could feel justified about bc he knew komaeda was already planning a murder, and if he got away with it he could escape but that still means he was willing to sacrifice everyone else
like he does give kind of a weak attempt at asking if it counts as an exception because it was sort of self defense (komaeda couldn’t kill him from where he was but he was gonna kill Someone so he was defending. someone) but he still.... knew komaeda was going to kill somebody and made the choice to just kill him himself without warning anyone or saying Anything and then kept that fact to himself too
back in dr1 again we had this similar situation in the first trial where leon actually was acting in self defense (which is Confirmed in the manga, he doesn’t get a chance to explain it in the game) and didn’t tell anyone but like... none of them knew yet if they could get off on a technicality and we don’t know if he might’ve been hoping for that, and he didn’t know sayaka was dangerous, he didn’t make the conscious decision to go kill her without telling anyone. he probably should have asked someone else for help when she lost it but his intention was to get in there to talk it out, so like. he tried to de-escalate the situation and became a killer by accident, teruteru had plenty of time to get help and decided to kill instead. and “hey byakuya i think komaeda is planning something bad” would have been a completely logical thing to do, he would have taken it seriously and teruteru would be innocent in that scenario, vs “guys i think i just killed sayaka but hear me out i didnt mean to” would NOT have gone over well, nobody’s gonna help him or believe him when it’s Sweet Dear Precious Sayaka, naegi could barely believe she attacked him even when they proved it with evidence
i dont know i feel like teruteru had a lot more intent behind what he did. even if he would have been absolutely fucking justified in killing komaeda and i wish he had done it correctly :’  ) i think the “i dont care about taking everyone else down with him” is way more clear-cut here
Tumblr media
anyway, goodbye little bastard man
Tumblr media Tumblr media
motherfucker
i still CANNOT follow komaeda’s logic here
he’s obsessed with the Ultimates... and believes in them SOOO Much :) he’s desperate to see them overcoming the ultimate despair... so he’s gotta kill somebody... to induce ultimate despair... so they can overcome it... i GUESS???
wouldn’t defeating monokuma and making it out of here on their own strength without resorting to murder at all be the ultimate hope triumph though. what are you DOING, komaeda
Tumblr media
what is W R O N G wiTH YOu
Tumblr media
well there he goes
Tumblr media
i really wish someone would
Tumblr media
P LE ASE DO
Tumblr media
AKANE OWARI MY QUEEN
its not. clear but im pretty sure she Did punch him
its a crime that we dont get to see this, but
Tumblr media
i mean. she’s right

The Assistant (5 of ?) | Vladimir Ranskahov x reader
Tumblr media
[original picture: pinterest]
✏️ Pairings:
(eventual) Vladimir Ranskahov x fem!reader
Anatoly Ranskahov x OC (Paulina)
probably other pairings in the future
✏️ Requested by @kellydixon01  : Y/N–hacker, big mouth, even bigger attitude–is the new addition to Fisk’s team. Sent to help the Ranskahovs, she immediately gets on Vladimir’s nerves. But as time passes, they start to take a liking to each other, even if none of them is willing to admit their feelings. Yet.
✏️ A/N: for once I have nothing to say haha hopefully not a bad chapter, but I’m glad I managed to write after these days of hell. (Hopefully there aren’t too many mistakes)
✏️ A/N 2: jk I have stuff to say. Any ‘hacking scene’ from now on is just based on my imagination, I don’t have the strenght (psychological or physical) to search realistic things now, it’s a rough period + I used google to research one Hungarian name (Miklos) and one Hungarian surname (Dobos) so I hope they’re not wrong; in that case, I’m sorry. Why Hungarian mob? I don’t know, but I did a project on Hungary in middle school and I remember I liked it. Is there anything like Hungarian mob? I don’t know, but for the sake of this chapter I hope so haha Why not Italian? Bc I’m Italian and it’s often Italian mob in fics and movies and it’s tiring after a bit, so... HAHA #sorrynotsorry #letschangeitupalil
✏️ Warnings: mention of murder and that’s probably it
✏️ Word-count: 2,870
📚 To read the previous chapters, click on the MASTERLIST link in my bio (unfortunately I can’t put links here if I want my post to come up in search results. I apologize.)
CHAPTER FIVE: MIKLOS DOBOS
Vladimir had never been this close to Y/N. Stuffed on the back seat of the car with her between him and his brother, he was seething.
Her shoulder pressed against his and his knee bumped against hers every time Aslan drove over a hole in the asphalt, almost as though he was doing it on purpose. He didn’t know if the buzzing feeling in his brain was due to such close proximity on her part or simply because he was still pissed by the fact that Tolya had allowed her–had insisted and bugged him all day for her–to come with them. It was probably a combination of both, but Volodya didn’t exactly care. As long as he didn’t have to drive her home, he was good.
Or, at least, he was good as long as he kept his distance from his own apartment. He had known right from the start that the chances of Y/N having dipped into the privacy of his life were pretty high, but he had never considered, in the days he had spent trying to work with her–keyword: trying–that she would do something like moving in next door.
If this wasn’t the sign he had been waiting for–consciously or not–, the proof of her spying on him and his brother and his business in general, he truly didn’t know what else could be. She hadn’t stopped working for Fisk just as she had never started to work for him, he reasoned now.
Now more than ever he wished he had someone to cover his back or to stop his finger from pulling the trigger of his gun because he didn’t want to disappoint his brother by killing that woman.
Her presence in the apartment in front of his–and next to him now, for that matter–had the same shocking effect of dipping naked in ice-cold water. And he had done that–and on many an occasion–but he had never been forced to and it had never been a surprise.
This, however, was a lot more than his already feeble patience could take.
And to ask him–to force him–to take Y/N along to go ransom the last part of the payment before the shipment got–well–shipped was like asking him to suddenly turn into a saint when he wasn’t even a good person, to begin with.
“Did we really have to-”
“Don’t start now,” Tolik cut him off, slightly turning his head in his brother’s direction to warn him that his patience was running thin.
They had both used Russian–Vladimir because he didn’t give a fuck, Anatoly because he did give a fuck and the last thing he wanted was to risk insulting her and end up on the first page of a hacker’s black book.
No one spoke again after that, at least not before Aslan reached the location Y/N had chosen and turned off the engine.
“They’re not here yet,” Sergei pointed out, sticking his head out of the window to check the area. “What do we do now?”
“Now we wait.” Y/N’s back was relaxed against the leather seat of the SUV as she opened up the laptop she had on her knees and switched it on.
Her calmness was irritating: it made Vladimir’s skin itch and his brain pound like a military march in the confinements of his skull. He truly didn’t know what it was about her that had that effect on him and made that sort of primal instinct resurface, but here he was and he was definitely not happy.
Who did she think she was to know what to do better than him or his brother? To claim the right to choose what was good and what was wrong in his business? To stomp into his office and demand he follow her orders? Like some dog?
And now here they were, at the pier, the Hudson river peacefully flowing in front of them. The gentle night breeze breathed in through the open front window, caressing their cheeks with its cool tendrils, and it carried the sound of honks being pressed on in the early night traffic. And still, the Hungarians were nowhere to be seen.
Vladimir already didn’t like them–and it wasn’t because the mudaki were late, for it wasn’t that late when he checked his watch. He hated them because they always tried to trick him, because there was this one Hungarian dick at the fights that seemed to have taken it upon himself to piss the shit out of Vladimir. He wasn’t part of the mob, of course, he was just some twenty-four bitch that had fun beating the blood out of people’s noses, but it was such a minuscule detail that Vlad didn’t care.
And if this was going to turn out to be the debacle of Dobos’ irritating organization, then so be it. Vladimir Ranskahov was just waiting for the right time to lower the saber on the dick’s neck and watch his pitiful society die like a rat in a trap.
What pissed him off even more was, again, Y/N’s presence not just in the car, but at the meeting. There was no way he was going to let a newbie take part to it, and it wasn’t just because she hacked things for someone else–or, well, maybe yeah, maybe that was part of the reason behind his annoyance.
The biggest issue was Miklos Dobos’ attitude towards newbie–or people in general, for that matter. He didn’t trust them, and even when–and if–they won his trust, he still continued on with his doubts and he’d do anything in his power to protect himself as best as he could. And this usually translated into stricter controls and suspects–and greater irritation on the part of the people that had to deal with him.
Which, in this case, translated into the figure of Vladimir Ranskahov. And he was anything but happy.
Vlad had his own problems with newbies, too–he didn’t know about Tolya, but he sure as hell did have problems with newbies. And from this point of view, he wasn’t even that different from Dobos. He only worked with people he trusted, who had crimes behind their backs that he respected, and who respected him. Y/N didn’t have his trust nor his respect–yet, for he wanted to hope that one day he would be able to at least stand her.
Newbies could very well be time bombs in situations like the one they were all going to live. They could get scared at anything, or blurt out something they should have never told, or do crap in general and blow everything up. It was a fragile world, the underworld. It sure had a tough face, but the body was of fine crystal and anything could shatter it. Alliances were never forever–it didn’t matter how hard Wesley was fucking himself with that idea, even the whole Gao-Fisk-Ranskahovy affiliation was going to go to shit one day–and literally anything could undermine a thriving organization. Newbies were that threat: they could inadvertently blow a whole world up if they hadn’t been delivered the right education.
This was exactly why Vladimir and Anatoly Ranskahov refused to hire anyone who hadn’t served their time in jail–be it in Russia or America or anywhere else on the globe, it didn’t really matter, not as much as the committed crime did. And hacking into people’s lives and businesses didn’t exactly count as a crime in the brothers’ eyes. It was something anyone could do–at varying degrees, of course. They might not have been able to hack into someone’s bank account, but they still knew their ways and had their informants–or they could just use a gun and get it over with it.
Yet, this girl was probably going to prove herself to be one of his nightmares.
Vladimir was sure she hadn’t even seen a corpse before. Sure, she might have seen Granny or Gramps in their coffin, dead people on the news or on newspapers, but she had never been mere inches from someone who had just been shot in the head, nor had she ever had someone else’s blood splatter on her face or on her clothes.
She was a fucking time bomb, ticking their last seconds away, and Vlad couldn’t understand how Anatoly couldn’t see it.
It was Anatoly’s idea to let her come–maybe she had bugged him too, but Tolik had had the last word on the matter. It was Anatoly’s idea that they accept her presence just because some fat dick wanted so. And if they were going to go down in a bloodbath, it was going to be Anatoly’s idea and Vladimir was going to have the right excuse to kick his brother’s ass all the way into the afterlife.
“What are you doing?” She had stuck something into her laptop and may he be damned if he wasn’t going to find out what that was. He was no tech-genius, and at the same time, he was no stupid.
“Blocking phone signal,” she shrugged, sparing him a glance before going back to work. “I’m going to knock out their chances of calling anyone, but your phones won’t be immune, either. So I guess this is the time I understand whether I can trust you or not.”
Vladimir scoffed. “What about you?”
“Told you on day one.” She turned towards him this time and one of her hand ran to partially lower the monitor of her laptop. “I’m not here to spy. I’m here to help you. You are one stubborn dick, aren’t you?”
“And you are sneaky bitch. You still have not proved my suspicions wrong.”
But another car had parked on the other side of the open space, a grey Mercedes whose shiny surface reflected the light of the lampposts nearby. They stared as Dobos’ driver got out of the car and only then did Aslan and Sergei follow his example.
“Stay down and try not to get seen,” Anatoly ordered her, fixing the holster of his gun underneath the jacket of his suit.
“This would have been easier if you hadn’t let her come,” Vladimir commented in Russian and as he exited the car, he missed Y/N’s smirk at his words.
But she did as she was told: she crouched down behind the driver’s seat, laptop resting where Vladimir had been sat just seconds before and prayed with all her might to get out of that meeting alive and undiscovered.
Vladimir was praying, too, and he truly couldn’t fathom how his brother could be so calm and composed when they were basically violating the accords they had with the Hungarians.
Dobos got out of his car only when the Ranskahovs had reached their driver and Sergei. He was an imposing man: tall, big, with broad shoulders and a shiny bald head that shone brighter than the recently-washed roof of his own car.
He was a chicken, though, and the Ranskahovs knew that, and that was why he was flanked on either side by two other men, big but not as big as he was, with scarred faces and tattooed necks.
What irked Vladimir was the fact that those two bodyguards were new, they weren’t the ones Miklos Dobos usually used when they had to meet. He had never seen them, hadn’t been informed of that change and he did not like that. Not one bit.
“New men I see,” he groaned, pointing at the people in question with a nod of his head.
Dobos smirked and the fingers of his right hand rose to touch the crucifix that hung from his necklace. “Others have gone meet God.” He stopped two feet behind his driver and a fourth man got out of the front seat of the grey car, opened the trunk and grabbed two black bags. “Did you ship shipment?”
“We ship when meeting is over,” Anatoly pointed out. Dobos’ question ringed suspicious to his ears, for he had never asked such dumb things, but he didn’t think about it, not immediately at least. “You know that. It’s how we work, or have you forgotten?”
Dobos grimaced and threw a glance at the man on his left, a quick glance that Vladimir didn’t like. The Hungarian’s behavior was starting to smell fishy. “Three hundred grands,” he said and the man that had joined the party last let the bags fall to the ground in the no man’s land that separated the two parties. “Like accord.”
Sergei had already taken a step forward when Vladimir stopped him with a hand on the shoulder. “We check it first,” he declared and he himself walked to the bags, picked them up and then retreated, not turning his back to the Hungarians in front of him.
And stinking it was: Miklos Dobos gritted his teeth, his hand reaching the crucifix once again, but after a second of tension, he let out a soft sigh. “Why would we cheat you, Ranskahov? We have always paid.”
True, but they had never ordered such a big shipment and they had never had to pay such big money.
“New policies,” Vlad grinned. He took a step back and when Dobos’ men moved their hands over their guns, he spoke again. “I’m going to count money on hood of our car.”
It was going to be a slow count, every present was sure of that, but no one protested–not even Dobos, too intent in praying God Vladimir would be quick and superficial in his counting.
Vlad dropped the bags on the hood, still grinning in the direction of the other men, and as he turned, he briefly met Y/N’s questioning gaze as she stared at him from between the front seats behind which she was hiding. You better start praying too, girl, he thought, for he was sure the meeting was going to end in blood.
He unzipped the first bag slowly, almost begging he was just being paranoid and took out the first wad of bills. He counted them, touched them, almost sniffed them, but the green money was real. As were the bills in the second, third and fourth wads. He couldn’t say the same about those in the fifth: the first and last bills of the wad didn’t seem weird, but the ones in the middle didn’t seem to flow like the ones he had handled until now.
Brows furrowed, he refrained himself from turning towards Tolik or from seizing his gun. It could very well be his paranoia playing tricks on him. There was no reason why the Hungarians, weak as they were, would trick them. They had always paid on time and with nice money–maybe less than tonight, but that didn’t matter. And sure, their society was on the rise these days, but it didn’t mean anything.
His hands still ripped the band keeping the wad together and he stared at them as if those tattooed fingers belonged to someone else.
He was so not in the mood for blood or killing, tonight. He just wanted to stop to buy a pizza, go home and watch the boxing match on TV, drink more vodka than his stomach and liver could stand and smoke a well-deserved cigarette in the quietness of his apartment. It didn’t matter that he had Y/N living just next door, he was going to enjoy the rest he worked so hard for.
But Dobos thought he could play him. Thought he could trick someone who had been tricked by life in worse ways. Thought he could trick who now considered himself untrickable–though he was, and that fucking cheap mob boss proved that he could, indeed, be played like a whore.
The bills in the fifth wad had been counterfeited.
His fingers twitched, his tattooed rings burned and as his gaze met Y/N’s once again, he felt the blood in his brain reach boiling point.
“Everything alright?” came Dobos’ voice and at that moment it did sound like a dead’s voice.
“Da,” he yelled back, but he was still staring at the girl in his car and he wished she could do something, let Tolya or Aslan or Seriozha know they had to open fire on those motherfuckers. He snapped the bands of the wads he had checked open, piled the bills in a neat stack and grabbed both them and the bags before going back to the others. “But I have question,” he continued as the bags fell to the ground with a dull thud. His left hand knocked twice on his left thigh and as his own men and Tolik were staring at him, he knew they had caught the message. “What, exactly, made you think you could play us?”
In a heartbeat, the bills he had had in his right hand were flying through the air, momentarily blinding Dobos and his men, while the Ranskahovs and their own men fired.
The deafening sound of shots seemed to roll down the street lights, tumbling over Dobos’ Mercedes before, a heartbeat later, shell casings jingled on the wet asphalt.

Hi! I'm, sending in a request on Ray getting taken care of while he sick?? He tries to be so good to MC and deserves to be loved and cared for back!!!
Yessss he is such a good boy omg and tysm for the request 💕
It kinda got both longer and more sad than intended but I mean what did you expect from me lmao
Also I didn’t fully proofread this bc it’s 1:30am I hope it’s fine, my brain is too dead to think pfft idek how I’m still writing-
… … … … … … … … … … … … .
Ray was more than used to being sick, it happened more often than he could even count.
His body had always been weak like that, too useless to handle any kind of work. And somehow the elixir always made it worse, even though he knew that it was helping him and he was just too stupid to get it right.
But even he wasn’t used to being /that/ sick, to get to the point where he could barely keep himself in his chair, the room spinning around him at a pace he didn’t even want to focus on.
He wanted so bad to just lie down on the floor but he couldn’t possibly do that.
He had to keep working…
He couldn’t just slack off.
He never did.
If he couldn’t even work anymore, what purpose would he have? The savior would throw him out, and he’d deserve it.
He owed her so much, and he couldn’t possibly disappoint her.
But he couldn’t even see the code on his screen, his head aching too much for him to focus, and his vision blurring to the point that he was certain he’d pass out again.
As hard as he tried, eventually he had to admit defeat.
Using the walls of the hallway to support himself, the boy somehow managed to drag himself through the castle, his feet carrying him without his mind even realizing. Only when he was in front of her door did he notice that he’d gone to see MC.
No.
He couldn’t possibly… she shouldn’t have to see him like that.
Surely she already knew how pathetic he was, but he didn’t have to show her any more.
She’d hate him for certain if she saw that he couldn’t even take care of himself.
But just as he was turning, trying to hurry away, another bolt of excruciating pain shot through his head and his knees gave in. His body practically collapsed, sliding down the wall until he was half-lying on the ground, slightly leaning against it.
Deep breaths.
Ray closed his eyes, focusing on his breathing like he’d learned, holding back tears both from the pain and from the knowledge that once again, he wasn’t even strong enough to control his own body.
At least nobody had seen him.
Perhaps… perhaps if he just rested for a little bit, he’d be okay again. He could just stay there for a few minutes, the cold floor would be enough for him.
He’d just have to wait for a moment until he was alright to get up again.
Then he could go for some fresh air and go back to work.
He wasn’t even strong enough to move, let alone open his eyes, so he just resorted to curling up into a ball and waiting for it all to pass.
The next thing he knew was a hand on his shoulder, a voice calling his name.
Had he fallen asleep?
He must’ve, otherwise he’d have heard her coming.
His eyes blinked open, his face immediately grimacing at the pain returning to him all at once, before registering the girl leaning over him with a worried expression.
Oh no, now he’d made her see him. And how much time had he even wasted sleeping? God, he’d made her worry…
“I’m sorry,” he muttered, his voice coming out much weaker than he’d intended, the mere act of speaking immediately proving to be a bad idea as he had to pause for a moment to collect himself.
He definitely wouldn’t do /that/ in front of her.
Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to continue as he struggled back to his feet.
“Please just… pretend you didn’t see me. Please.”
He didn’t have the energy to say much else, standing as straight as he could, just hoping he’d manage to make it out of her line of sight before collapsing again, praying she’d go back to her room and just not look at him.
Just please don’t look at him.
Yet, he longed so much for her touch, regretting even pulling away from her softly shaking him awake. If only he could curl up next to her instead, have her comfort him… he’d instantly feel better, he knew it.
But such things weren’t his to wish for, they’d never been and never would be. He wasn’t born to be loved. He wasn’t worth it.
She deserved so much better than him, and he didn’t want her to have to feel bad for rejecting him, so he should just leave.
He didn’t get far, though.
It was surprise that caused him to almost fall over this time, because the last thing he’d expected was for her to reach out to him, to ask him to wait.
Unable to deny her of anything, Ray turned, hiding his face in his hands so she wouldn’t see how his eyes were tearing up again, and how pathetic he must’ve been looking in general.
Before he could even react, he found himself being pulled into her room, unable to resist. His mind was too dazed to really understand what was going on, all that he knew was that, all of a sudden, it was… soft.
He was in a bed?
Confused, he blinked up at her, his aching head in too much pain to come up with an explanation for what was happening.
Why was he in a bed? Why was he in… her bed..?
She was at his side after seconds, a glass of water in her hand, helping him up before handing it to him.
He hadn’t even realized how thirsty he’d been, when was the last time he’d had a drink? Had to have been… yesterday, perhaps. He hadn’t paid much attention to the time while he’d been working.
But why was she doing this?
She didn’t have to take care of him, she certainly had other things to do than that! He hadn’t meant to ruin her day like that, to force her to give up her plans just for him.
This time he didn’t manage to stop the tears, his shoulders shaking as he quickly turned away from her, burying his face in the pillows.
Her pillows.
They even smelled like her, and it only made things worse.
Every single time something good happened in his life…
Why did he always have to ruin it?
Why did he always have to sabotage every ounce of happiness he might’ve had a chance of grasping?
His arms moved around the soft pillow, holding it close as he curled around it, pressing his eyes shut as if he’d disappear if he didn’t look.
He wished he could just disappear, he truly did.
He just wanted to pretend that she wasn’t there, that she didn’t see him like that. Didn’t see him sobbing into her pillows.
She’d probably left already anyway.
There was no way she’d stay with him like this, nobody would.
And there was no way that she’d… climb in the bed with him?
Although he didn’t dare to look, Ray stopped crying and held his breath the second he felt the mattress shift. The weight of something - somebody - being next to him was unmistakable, and there was only one person that it could possibly be.
Still, he couldn’t believe it. He couldn’t believe that she’d actually be willing to lie with him, even when he was like that.
Did she not think he was disgusting? Pathetic?
She didn’t seem to at least, not when she wrapped her arms around him and pulled him close.
She didn’t seem to hate him when she began stroking his hair, paying no mind to how sweaty it had gotten from his fever.
Ray was frozen in shock when he felt her face nuzzle against his neck, so unbelievably close to her that he thought he was dreaming.
He probably was still in the hallway, sleeping on his own. But oh please, he begged he wouldn’t be woken up.
He’d never really had a good dream before, especially not like that.
It all felt so real, yet at the same time it couldn’t possibly be!
She couldn’t possibly want to be close to him, especially not when he was sick like that.
Ah, right.
For a moment he’d actually forgotten about his headache, as if just her touch had healed him somehow.
It was still there, but it felt much more bearable. Everything felt more bearable with her holding him like that.
Slowly, reluctantly, he shifted a bit, turning his face towards her. He was afraid she’d disappear as soon as he tried to look at her, but he just had to see her, he had to make sure that this moment was real.
All he could do was stare when his eyes truly did meet hers, a warm smile answering his baffled gaze.
She was real.
Swallowing, Ray reached up to wipe his tears, not daring to even blink in fear that she might still disappear, turn out to be nothing but an illusion.
But she didn’t.
“It’s okay.”
Her words were but a small whisper, barely audible and undoubtedly meant for him. Only two words, but they spoke more than he could ever describe.
They were all she had to say to him.
Finally giving in to himself, he turned towards her fully, burying his face in her arms. Allowing himself to wrap his arms around her like he’d always wanted to, holding her close to make sure she was there.
She didn’t pull away.
As Ray’s tears began welling up again, she resumed stroking his hair, softly pushing the strands out of his face. She paid no mind to the small whimpers that involuntarily left him, gently shushing him until eventually he could feel himself drifting off to sleep.
Perhaps if he could sleep close to her like that, he truly would have a good dream for once.
And maybe once he woke up he’d feel better already.
He was certain he would, for once in his life, he was absolutely sure of it. Because she’d said it was okay, and she wouldn’t lie to him, ever.
Still praying he’d really be allowed to, Ray eventually fell asleep, her calm breathing the last thing he was still aware of before dozing off in her arms.
She stayed.

More wondering about LuPat...
... Hmmm...
So there’s differences between pieces of the Collection?
My first guess would be that the stuff the Gangler stole, at least, were the things that Lupin stole/“collected” one hundred years ago from other people/places/things in order to maybe keep them safe, maybe use them for himself (we’ll have to wait and see what Lupin’s true role in this is), whereas the others were actively built (possibly using the technology discovered via the others?); maybe by Lupin, maybe (as I think) by Lupin and at least one other person--potentially someone directly related to GSPO. Like, maybe Lupin was actually working with the cops even back then, and he and a police partner created the VS stuff, and that’s why it has two modes like that. Or, perhaps they were made by someone else entirely.
(will theorising below)
I know there’s some theorising that Lupin’s grandson is either Zamigo or otherwise evil, but I kinda hope that’s not it? Like, I kinda hope that he’s just being a French (or at least partially French) drama queen and letting Kogure handle everything w/out realising the Butler is up to no good? And then eventually he realises he needs to get involved himself, and actually meets the rangers and properly explains things? Like I said, I also like the idea of Lupin having some sort of police ally, so what if, like, there’s two families that have been looking after the Collection in secret? And now (by Kogure’s prerogative) one is backing the Lupinrangers and the other is backing the Patrangers (maybe bc Kogure/someone else has been trying to cause dissension between the two bloodlines?)? Personally, I’m a big fan of the Lupin/cop friend theory. Maybe the two currents (Lupin’s grandson and the descendant of the other person) used to be best friends/something else before the incident or something like Kogure drove a wedge between them. Maybe that’s where Goodie is going back to (or maybe he’s made a nest somewhere, wouldn’t put it past him)? Though it could also be funny if Kogure just didn’t know, and the Lupin’s grandson was like ‘Oh, yeah, of course the cops have Collection Pieces! Why wouldn’t they?’ and something about balance or teamwork or two is better than one. I mean, I still believe that the two teams were meant to be one. Like, what if they somehow ended up meeting Lupin and/or the other person who might have made the VS stuff and they/he were like ‘What, no! Why are you fighting each other? You’re supposed to work together!’ Anyway.
And, also, bc I relish proving Kairi wrong: it was stated that Lupin stole (at least some) of the items one hundred years ago, meaning that at this moment, w/ the info he has, Kairi cannot make any sort of believable or legal claim that these items belong to the Lupin family just cause those guys happened to stick their name on it. Recovered stolen items would legally be held in protective custody until it could be sufficiently proven who the owners were at the time of the theft. Technically, the ‘Lupin’ Collection doesn’t belong to Lupin at all, but to the people he stole it from, and therefore their descendants. Now, since we’re dealing with some potentially apocalyptic stuff... That makes things different. Like, while the Lupins have Kogure’s alleged word that they’re retrieving the items to keep them safe, their main goal is to get back their loved ones. They don’t give a damn about anything else, or anyone else (except maybe Umika bc she still seems to have some memory of how to person). Like, they’ve said they’re willing to sacrifice themselves, but someday I think they’re gonna face the question of whether or not they’re willing to sacrifice innocent people to do so. God, I hope the answer no, or I will lose all respect and sympathy for them. And right now, I do honestly feel like these kids are edging a little close to the Fueki end of the spectrum--the ‘their suffering is meaningless compared to mine.’ And that’s a dangerous selfishness; personal justice is only sympathetic so far.
But consider the GSPO/Patrangers. Even if there is someone there who knows things, they might be keeping their head down for any number of reasons--they could be dead, they could be worried Kogure someone will send an assassin or something after them, they could be locking themselves off the same way Lupin’s grandson is allegedly doing--and they have no idea about what the Lupins are planning to do/are doing with the Collection pieces. They know these things wield great power, they know what the Gangler are using them for--but here’s these thieves who are taking these objects away; they have no idea who they are, or what their deal is. My guess is that GSPO brass is working under the assumption that the Lupins are agents for some other large crime group/association that is amassing the power of the Collection for it’s own nefarious purposes; given the power level of the items, and the fact that it’s an international public safety organisation, they have to assume the worst. That’s the mindset they’re going with. The Lupins, for their part, are doing almost nothing to to assuage these concerns, as they are refusing to divulge any info (save for Umika that one time--again, still knows how empathy works!)
So while the Lupins did suffer horribly, yes, and there’s a cathartic-ness to them succeeding, it’s also... They’re willing to hand these extremely powerful items over to a practically anonymous person who claims to represent the allegedly rightful owner, purely to get back three people. But let’s remember, there were other people who were frozen--the Lupins aren’t the only ones who lost people, they’re just the only ones being offered a (possibly bullshit, may I add) chance to save them. Especially if those people are technically ‘dead.’ Like, how do you think someone who had a family member murdered by one of the other Gangler would feel if they told them that? Meanwhile, the Patos are a public safety bureau. They’re trying to protect innocent civilians, trying to fight for (as one of their main motifs seems to be) the common good (seriously, GS yells it when they fuse); they’re not doing this for any sort of reward, not even really for themselves. They’re going out there and risking their lives in a job they didn’t have to choose, for the sake of others. Honestly, I’m nigh as annoyed as Keiichiro at the way the public lauds the Lupins, who, at this point, really don’t care much what happens to them as long as they get what they want, just bc they’re super flashy and obvious and cool-looking (not to mention having an equipment advantage at the time), over the cops who are out there fighting these monsters for them, originally with nothing more than basic weaponry. Like, I wonder if a newspaper interviewed one of those people trying to run for their lives during the fight at the casino? Would those people still think that the Lupins were ‘so cool’ if they were caught in a cross fire and got the same treatment, especially if they or someone else got injured or worse through the Lupin’s disregard for the safety of others? Just saying.
Have I put way too much thought into this? Yes, absolutely. Is this completely my point of view? Ooooooooh, yeah.

random thoughts on The Last Jedi
Putting this under a cut and also will some blank space in case it doesn’t work on mobile

Okay hopefully that’s enough
So, I really liked the movie. It was fun and engaging and a little unexpected
one of the big things about this movie is that it basically looked at all those neatly packed questions and mysteries from The Force Awakens and tossed half of them out the window while saying “eh, we didn’t really need those anyways”
so things like Rey’s parents, which everyone has been obsessing over, turned out not to even be a reveal to Rey herself
Snoke was just an evil Force user who wanted power (and not a tiny tiny alien like I had half hoped)
Luke really did leave because he felt he had failed everyone destroyed his own life’s work
it was also very funny! like, I was laughing pretty hard and pretty often
I really liked the growth of Poe Dameron from the hot shot pilot to real leader
bc his brand of “blowing shit up” really does have a very useful place in a war, but he was too willing to sacrifice himself and others for glory rather than retreat to protect the long goal
and having Holdo (aka Laura Dern, who was wonderful) across from him was great
from Poe’s initial reaction, we got exactly what his problem was going to be in this film. he looked at her, in a dress with jewelry, and said that she was not what he expected from a war hero, because his definition of a hero was very narrow and was entirely entwined with violence and blowing shit up
so having him fail was necessary, as he was able to learn from it, that sometimes a retreat is just as necessary and heroic as fighting to the last
and oh Finn and Rose, going to a place where the rich get richer and being able to see all those who get stepped on and pushed down so the rich can stay on top
Rose and her sister made me cry, as did Rose giving up that medallion just for the chance to be able to save the fleet
being able to inspire those kids, “the spark that will light the fire of the rebellion”
Finn being able to face down Captain Phasma and respond with “Rebel scum” with pride
Finn also immediately wanting to know where Rey is and then wanting to go looking for her or at least give her a signal to come back to that’s safe
also, they’re v cute
there is a lot of Kylo Ren, no getting around that he has a lot of screen time, but I think it works
bc even tho Rian Johnson’s comments before the movie came out had me worried, the movie didn’t seem to buy into what Kylo was selling
a large part of this is because we finally got Luke back (more on him later) to tell his side of why Ben Solo turned himself into Kylo Ren
it allows us to understand the boy, but still think the man that boy grew into is a monster
esp since that boy then went and immediately murdered a bunch of children. hard to come back from
the ‘connection’ between Rey and Kylo ended up just being a trick anyways and despite turning on Snoke, Kylo never intended on trying to redeem himself. it was all about grabbing more power, about proving that he was more powerful than Snoke, that he was the true leader of the first order. it wasn’t about feeling guilty about everything he had done or wanting to turn back toward the light, and it wasn’t about Rey
that whole fight was great tho
oh Luke
I can understand why people (esp those familiar with the expanded universe) would be unhappy here, but for me, it worked because Luke was heartbroken and guiltridden
he felt that he had betrayed his family, his students, and the galaxy, he felt that in his hubris he had built the man who would destroy the galaxy and that he would only ever do more harm than good
and then seeing that raw power in Rey again and to see her be tempted by the dark side, it brought back the very worst memories
so for him to take one last stand and give the resistance enough time to retreat through the mountains, against the man who is his greatest failure, that took courage. the kind of courage we’ve always known he’s had
Rey’s arc is the one main character arc that I think will really benefit from the next movie
because I did enjoy her coming to the realization that it’s not the family who abandoned her that defines who she is and where she belongs, she was the one who raised herself in the desert and she is the one who can connect with the force
this really fit with Luke’s insistence that the Jedi do not have sole ownership of the force, that it exists in everyone and everything
the universe didn’t need another Skywalker, the force awoke in her
I also enjoyed that we got to see her being tempted by the dark side
Rey has always been full of anger (righteous anger mostly, but still) and also an urge to act, so it makes sense that the dark side could be alluring in its power
but even as that happens, she uses her anger to try and protect others, to become someone she believes the resistance needed (for a misguided while she thought that it was Ben Solo they needed, but no, it was Rey herself)
but overall her arc felt incomplete
I think this is largely because hers was so tied to the Luke v Kylo plot, and so it was overshadowed
and since a) Luke wasn’t going to head out on his own and b) Kylo/Snoke didn’t know where Luke was, the film relied on Rey to help set up their final confrontation instead
and I do really wish we could have had more Rey and Finn onscreen together, because they are a great duo and I love them
I also liked her quiet moment with Leia at the very end
oh and lifting rocks with the force after all
which, it is very obvious that each movie was supposed to have one of the original trio at its centre. TFA had Han, TLJ has Luke, and Ep9 was supposed to have Leia. I really hope they continue with this plan, even though we lost Carrie Fisher, because Leia deserves it. she’s been the heart of the Republic all her life and I hope the next film is able to honor that properly
now, this film is also probably a bit too long at 152 minutes and could have cut some stuff in the middle where it began to lag a bit (like, did they really need benicio del toro? perhaps not)
overall, very enjoyable and I honestly think I’d like it even more upon a rewatch
idk, I liked it

EPISODE 4: PLEASE JUST GIVE US A SWAP-CHLOE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why am I still here???
Tumblr media
me when i read the challenge: omg i love flash games and states and sporcle, this is gonna be a delight!!! me after actually playing the fucking game: https://youtu.be/FveF-we6lcE
*later*
love hozier so much. he’s the only thing keeping me alive rn. whilst i waste away. HEY AT LEAST I KNOW WHERE ALL THE FUCKIN STATES ARE RIGHT!!!!
Tumblr media
Sooooo we finally get flash games. Of course I was asleep when they were being handed out so I ended up with fucking winterbells. Yeehaw I guess time to go let a million bunnies fall to their death.
Tumblr media
okurrrrr. Incase we did some kind of swap I talked to Amanda and RTP about like becoming a trio and who they like so I can make sure I like them so we can all work together better in the future. According to both of them we all like the same people? Being Linus and Seamus. RTP suggested being a trio, maybe making a chat, and then also making a chat with the 5 of us in it which Amanda liked too. We'd probably have to wait until actual tribal to put it into motion. Also Dane suggested to wage 3 points on me cause he knows I'm good at flash games and I hate that he knows me cause I would've suggested the same thing If I was awake for that deadline. It's driving me crazy his dumb bitch ass is here cause I keep missing him.
also fuck this flash game i hate trex i don't wanna go to work i hope this score holds up.
Tumblr media
I'm done. I literally just want to give up. I'm just sat here crying because it all feels so pointless. We're gonna swap, I'll get swapfucked and then that's that I guess. Won't have proved that I'm not a shit player lolllll guess that's maybe true. I've been doing terrible in challenges. I'm tired. I want to quit. This is all so fucking dumb.
Tumblr media
wow i just told dane about how much i hate myself and he told me i was smart and pretty and amazing...i feel loved for the first time in my godforsaken life!!!! i hope he does not betray me bc i love him. hes my new best friend. dane if u r reading this i love u.
Tumblr media
Shout out to all the other royals for DRAGGING MY ASS THROUGH THAT CHALLENGE, my score was humiliating compared to Raffy’s... I’m trying not to call attention to it, LOL. That is karma for me acting like him for that video challenge I’m sure 😳 Sorry my confessions are pretty boring these days... nothing new to report.
Tumblr media
I cannot believe we lost again. I'm so over being on this tribe at this point. I just want a swap to happen, but that just means I'll be at the bottom with people I don't know. It's such a double-edged sword. At this point, I'll take whatever comes my way as long as I don't go to tribal for the rest of pre-merge. For this tribal, I think that Trace is the vote sadly. I really like him a lot, but he is outside all the alliances that were made. By voting Trace, I don't betray anyone and keep my hands clean with two different 5 person alliances. Also, Trace must feel like an outsider at this point so if there is a swap, would he be willing to vote with Rebels? I'm not too sure. I guess this is just the hand I was dealt, so I have to deal with it.
Tumblr media
tribal number 4 ! woo ! love when i’m probably gonna get thrown under the bus for the vote when i had basically no say in my role in the challenge <3 honestly sick as fuck of raffy dictating everything but i’m not petty enough to vote him for it. dan might be but he’s too emotional for his own good i think. raffy is loyal to me. he’ll sink himself by being so loud later. if i swap with him, chances are the numbers won’t be on my side, and he’s someone that would alienate people much faster than i would. i’d be able to flip on raffy no problem. but in the meantime, he stays in my pocket and dan will have to suck it up ig! i’ve already lied to trace, he’s most likely voted against dan, he and i have no loyalty to each other, and he’s more likely to skate by utr in a swap scenario so he needs to go. i’m not worried about an idol play, obviously, but i can see there being something else. an extra vote or a vote steal or smth. i think i have enough of the numbers that it won’t matter but. definitely something to keep in mind.
Tumblr media
So like.... a swap HAS to be coming up soon.. The royals won their 4TH immunity in a row and I'm extremely happy because i truly believe that the first time I don't have immunity, I will leave. HOWEVER, now I have very strong arguments if the swap is happening. There is a VERY tight 6 in the rebels tribe which i clocked since the second tribal that consists of Dan, Asya, Raffy, Chloe, Lachlan, and John. They have all consistently left Trace out of votes and they continue to vote as a 6 (even with a large majority as well. They aren't splitting votes and I'm more convinced that one of those 6 have an idol already due to them putting all their votes onto one person). These 6 do NOT plan on splitting up. I think my best chance would convincing the royals to just stick together for a little bit longer, possibly just to split up a couple duos in there. Just based off of the tribal council, Raffy and Chloe seem to be really close. Raffy is that annoying gay and Chloe is that white girl who think gays are an accessory so he's just YAS SLAYING HER LIFE OKUR! The other duo I think is Asya and Dan, those 2 have been known in the BB community to be relatively close so I wouldn't be surprised if they are working together this game. The only issue with splitting up Asya and Dan is that Amanda (a royal) is also friends with those 2 rebels. So my best bet is sadly teaming up with the two Ryans who have a very obvious F2 to get out Dan, and I know Ryan would be more than happy to get out Dan since Ryan M plays these games very personally and like Dan called him fat or whatever. However I told Ryan M to kill himself before so I might be his prime target before Dan.... so who knows !!!
Tumblr media
This whole situation sucks. I really don’t want Trace to go home but there is literally nothing I can do about it. I floated Raffy’s name by Asya because I trust her the most and she just wasn’t into it. It would 100% be a crackhead move but I do trust Trace a lot.... and he’s just nice to chat with (and look at). Trace wants to do Chloe and honestly I trust her a lot too so I’m not willing to roll the dice and lose other allies if the Chloe vote doesn’t pan out. What will really shock me is if I’m booted tonight. That would be fucking hilarious. I feel weird in this game because we constantly have to go to tribal and vote someone out. Come swap time, we’re gonna be fucked no matter what. It’s all such a mess haha
Tumblr media
Trace throwing my name to people as if they're actually gonna get on board with that. Lol ok sis you do you I guess. He's in my DMs like ooooh no I think I'm going home, but I fully know he's been messaging Raffy, John, Asya and Dan asking them to vote me and he thinks that he has the numbers for it skskks. Idk what the craic is, part of me is saying he's gonna be messy and pull an idol and I'm going to go home tonight even though he will have majority votes against him. Guess I'll be getting 17th all over again, how fun xoxo
*a little bit later*
I am for the life of me BEGGING that we have a swap next. Please please please can we have a swap. PLEASE JUST GIVE US A SWAP. I would like a SHOT at being immune for once.
*Chloe sitting on a rock as the camera man zooms in*
This round has fully caused me so so many emotions. Last night I just had a whole ass breakdown and wanted to quit because I just feel this is entirely pointless and no matter what happens I'm going to get swap fucked and I probably wont make it to merge. I still feel this way I'm not going to lie. I've entirely lost all hope, I could quit but I also feel like that in itself is pointless. I came here to fight and prove that I am in fact not a shit player, so, here's hoping I can manoeuvre my way through this somehow and come out the other end into merge at least, that would be nice.
