drows consuming poison so they’d build up a natural resistance to it I think shri’iia would continue that practice even if she’s now living the surface. except for the first week or so that she got dropped up there and was pretending to be some adventurer, she wouldn’t have consumed poison then. it’s only when her identity is revealed/she breaks her oath that she starts consuming poison again. at first the resistance wore off so she had to accustom her body towards it again (which made her very ill) but soon her body starts accepting it again. I think the only time she weans off of it is if astarion asks her, since the poison will probably alter the taste of her blood but she’s like ? but I want you to build resistance to it too 🥹 to which he’ll reply that very sweet but I’m not looking to die another death, my love. so she’ll comply 😒 and only consume it from time to time 😒

#but I imagine when they weren’t together yet she’d eat the poison more often #like if gale hands her her plate she’ll just sprinkle some crushed up powder on it and hed think she’s just seasoning it #but she’s like oh no this is nightshade 😌😋#I also think shri’iia is more partial to salty foods. maybe spicy? I’m trying to think of what food they’ll have down there #and it’s mostly plants and mushrooms and fish and spiders from what I’ve read so maybe the stuff there are kinda bland…#or they probably have their own version of seasonings and spices - the ones that grow down there so I think she’s partial to those flavours #I feel like she’d take a while to get accustom to surface food bc the taste is just different bc of the ingredients being grown #under the sun. like the sun itself would taste so different to what she’s used to she’ll get a tummy ache #but obvi she can’t admit that so the first couple of nights they’re eating around camp they just think she’s incredibly picky with her food #but in reality she’s like 🤢🤢🤢 gets a stomach bug bc she’s not used to it
