Y/N sat on the bus wondering to herself how she had gotten herself into this mess. The weight of the coat settled around her shoulders and the scent of his cologne wafting up from the thick fabric was a firm reminder that the night had not been a dream. Yoongi had insisted she needed a coat. It was too cold for her to be out without one. Nina had insisted that she couldn’t show up at the club in her old tan coat and the heavy knitted scarf that Halmeoni had made for her so many years before, so she’d been without any protection from the cold. Yoongi had given her his, draping the maroon material across her shoulders and wishing her goodnight when she realized that he realized that she didn’t have a coat of her own. He’d grinned waving off her concerns telling her he had plenty of other coats. She didn’t doubt it. The man was willing to pay her four million won per meeting. Of course he could afford more than one coat. It was probably nothing to him.
The man was oddly attentive to her. The whole thing was odd. What kind of man in his position was interested in a little mouse like her? She certainly wasn’t the prettiest woman in the world, and he had to have beautiful women swarming around him, models, actresses, idols. What had made him choose her? What made a man willing to pay so much money for a woman when he had so many other options before him?
It didn’t make sense, but who was she to question it? He was literally paying for her life, and they desperately needed the money. All she wanted to do was go home and curl up in her bed, see Eun Jae sleeping safe and sound. She would feel better after seeing him. She would feel like herself again, because she certainly didn’t feel like herself right now.
She felt, in part, like she was making a mistake, but she didn’t have many other options. And every single option she had would break her grandmother’s heart. There wasn’t an option that wouldn’t break her heart, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was her family.
Her father had sent them spiraling into a pit of debt they’d been trying to climb out of for years. Her music lessons hadn’t helped that burden, neither had her college tuition, but her grandfather had seen something in her from a young age. He had seen how much his granddaughter loved music, how the little girl looked at the keys of a piano in wonder. Her parents hadn’t cared. They hadn’t noticed, but her grandparents had, and they insisted on nurturing that spark.
The old man had bundled her up when she was just four years old, on a cold winter morning, and shuttled her off to her first piano lesson. There had been no looking back after that. When her grandfather died three years later, her grandmother took her to lessons.
At the age of seven, she’d discovered the cello, just after her grandfather’s passing. Her piano teacher had had a friend, who taught lessons, and had helped to negotiate a price that would be manageable for them. So from then on every Saturday of her childhood, she’d been marched first to her piano lesson as usual and then to her cello lesson. A year after her cello lessons started, her mother left, and from there, her father had only sunk them further and further into debt. Eventually, they could no longer support lessons for both instruments. One of them had to go, and so at the age of thirteen, there were no more piano lessons. She still played of course, but her main focus had become the cello.
Ha Jin had never showed any particular interest in anything like music, not sports, or language, or her studies, not the restaurant either. She wanted to be anything, but what they were, poor and insignificant. She was always getting into trouble. She had a reputation in their neighborhood for being a shoplifter, a poor student, and generally just a bad kid. She wasn’t someone parents wanted their children hanging around.
And then came the summer she turned seventeen. Y/N would never know how she did it, but Ha Jin had managed to force herself into a circle of people she never should have crossed paths with in the first place. It could never be said that Ha Jin wasn’t smart. She was in fact, very intelligent. She just wasn’t using that intelligence for academics. Instead she used it to weasel her way into a group of upper class, wealthy kids. She wanted more than their little restaurant, and in her eyes, those kids were her ticket to something better, her ticket out. That’s where she had met Eun Jae’s dad.
Kim Taehyung was the son of a well to do family. He was handsome, charismatic, and a little older than Y/N. Before anyone could talk some sense into her, Ha Jin had gotten swept up in the lies she had weaved around herself. She’d lied about so many things, her age, her family, her circumstances. It had gotten so bad she’d begun to see herself as being one of them. She thought they had accepted her, that she was one of them, but she was wrong. She was a pet, a project, an amusement. Specifically, she’d been Taehyung’s amusement, the silly little girl who hung off his every word, a summer fling that would quickly be forgotten. Once Ha Jin had gotten pregnant, there was no hiding her lies anymore. She was just seventeen, but she had a baby to think of. She was going to be a mother, and there would be no father to help.
Taehyung and his family wanted nothing to do with the pregnancy. It was a youthful indiscretion that wouldn’t ruin their son’s life. He was in college, the heir to a good family. They weren’t going to allow an illegitimate child to ruin that for him, let alone an illegitimate child from a youthful dalliance with a gold digger.
Ha Jin had been inconsolable. She was convinced that he was going to come for her that he was going to take her away and make her a great lady, claiming that he wouldn’t abandon his child. But everyone else knew that that would never be the case. The farther into her pregnancy she got, the more bitter Ha Jin became. It was a struggle for Y/N and her grandmother to get the younger girl to take care of herself. She didn’t want to see the doctor. She didn’t want to go to school. She didn’t want to take the vitamins she was supposed to take. She didn’t want to set up a nursery. She wanted the baby gone, blaming a child that hadn’t even been born yet for ruining her life.
It wasn’t even a week after Eun Jae was born that she took off. They hadn’t seen her since. She hadn’t even named the child. She remembered waking up in the middle of the night to Eun Jae’s screams. The poor little boy had been inconsolable. He was hungry, he was tired, and his diaper was uncomfortably full. She’d scooped up him up holding him close as she put together a bottle for him gently rocking him and cooing softly trying to settle the poor child. Ha Jin was nowhere to be found. She hadn’t left so much as a note behind.
From that point on, Eun Jae was her son. She and Halmeoni had named him after her grandfather, hoping the name would bring him the same happiness in life that her grandfather had had. They took him to all hid doctor’s appointments. He was a beautiful healthy baby, and the sweetest little one that there ever was, but they might have been biased.
Y/N was immensely relieved to arrive home, to get herself out of those heels and to see her baby. The house was quiet, indicating that Nina had successfully gotten the little one to bed. She was a good friend and a good aunt for Eun Jae, but she was notorious for being a push over when it came to him. But that hadn’t been the case on that night. She found them both curled up fast asleep on the bed. Eun Jae was tucked up under the blankets sprawled like a little starfish and clutching his favorite dinosaur. Bambam the dinosaur had been a gift right after he’d first been born. He never slept without it. Nina was curled up next to him on top of the blankets, equally as lost to sleep as the toddler.
Y/N couldn’t help but smile at the sight. Quietly she fished out some extra blankets. One she draped over Nina so she wouldn’t catch cold. The other she threw on the sofa. She’d make her bed there tonight so she wouldn’t disturb the pair that were already fast asleep. Talking to Nina about everything could wait. They all needed some sleep.

She woke up the next morning to Eun Jae bouncing on top of her screaming something about breakfast and cartoons. She groggily sat up rubbing the sleep from her eyes and smiling tiredly at her son.
“Okay, buddy. Just give eomma a minute, okay?” She asked smiling at him. She glanced over at the bed to see Nina turned over with her head under a pillow. Clearly she hadn’t been as ready to let go of sleep for the sake of the toddler.
She got up moving to the little kitchenette to make breakfast, all the while the little guy was hanging off her leg eagerly chattering about all the things he wanted them to do that day. Mostly it consisted of cartoons. As much as she loved him, she did not have the energy to deal with children’s cartoons and their horribly annoying theme songs without a strong cup of tea.
“Okay, buddy. You go take a seat, and I’ll start on breakfast.” She smiled, an evil glint in her eye. “You can wake up Auntie Nina if you want.”
The little boy perked up at that. He sped over to the bed, climbing up on the platform before throwing himself on top of the groggy woman.
“Wake up, Nini!” He screamed jumping up and down on the other woman. “It’s time for bweakfast!”
Nina rolled over shooting a glare at Y/N who was very innocently putting together the meal for them all. “If you get up now, I’ll make you coffee.” Y/N threw the offer over her shoulder smiling as she saw Nina tackle the little boy attacking him with tickles as revenge for his waking her up.
“Come on, Nini.” Eun Jae whined tugging at his aunt as soon as she released him. “We gotta watch cawtoons!”
“I’m up. I’m up.” She groaned pulling herself out of bed to join Y/N in the kitchen only stopping to turn on some cartoons to keep Eun Jae busy while the two women talked.
“So how did it go last night?”
“It was…” She paused trying to think of the words. “It was, Agust d.”
Nina froze turning to look at her friend with wide eyes. “It was who now?”
“It was Agust d.”
“Shut up!” Nina’s eyes widened even further. “You’re joking! It wasn’t!” Nina was an avid fan of Agust d. He was her favorite musician. She lived and breathed Agust d. “Was it?”
“That’s his coat.” She nudged her head in the direction of the table where the coat from last night was draped over a chair.
Nina rushed over seizing the item inspecting it. “This is his coat!” She shrieked eyes wild. “I’ve seen him wearing this in pictures! Why do you have Agust d’s coat?”
“You didn’t let me bring mine, and he didn’t want me to catch cold, and for god’s sake use your inside voice. Do you want the neighbor’s to hear?” She scolded.
“But it’s August d! You have to tell me everything.” She rushed into the kitchen hanging off her friend’s arm as she whined. “Why do you have all the luck? I should have made a profile too. You’ll introduce me right?” She stared at her making her eyes wide and pleading, trying to mimic the look Eun Jae had whenever he wanted something. It didn’t work.
“You want me to introduce you to my sugar daddy?” Y/N asked confusion coloring her tone.
“It’s Agust d!” Nina looked at her as though she was stupid. Agust d was her world. How could she not want to meet him? “You have to introduce me!”
Y/N couldn’t help but stare at her incredulously. Was this the same girl who had been worried about her safety just a few days ago? Wasn’t this the same girl who had tried to make sure this was what she really wanted? Now everything was okay because her sugar daddy was someone famous. Well, she had to admire Nina’s loyalty, even if it was to the idol and not to her.
“Nina.” She sighed leaning against the counter tiredly. “I don’t think that’s up to me. I haven’t even signed the contracts yet.”
“Eomma!” Eun Jae’s voice called out before he came crashing into her legs looking up at her with big dark eyes. “Juice?”
“What do we say?”
“Juice pwease!”
“Okay, buddy.” She smiled gently ruffling his hair before she moved to fulfill his request.
She handed the cup over to the toddler and watched him as he went to go settle himself in front of his cartoons again happily sipping at his juice. She couldn’t help the fond, if not tired, look that took over her features as she watched him.
“When do you sign the contracts?” Nina asked impatiently, eager to know everything about her friend’s encounter with the famous rapper.
“He said that they should be ready by Monday.”
“This is so exciting!” Nina squealed practically vibrating with excitement. “You’re going to be on Agust d’s arm!” She paused a dawning realization making her mouth drop open in shock. “You’ll get to fuck Agust d!”
Immediately, Y/N slapped her friend’s arm glaring at her before throwing a worried glance over at the little boy. “Little ears.” She hissed grateful that Eun Jae wasn’t paying them any attention. “We do not swear in front of the baby.”
“Sorry, Y/N.” Nina at least had the decency to look sheepish. “But Monday is only the day after tomorrow. Aren’t you nervous?”
“Petrified.”

Request: May I have a Yancy x reader where the reader decided to stay in prison to be with him? They're there together and happy, and then someone new comes into the prison. The newbie seems nice enough at first, but then when newbie sets their sights on Yancy they turn nasty towards the reader. Reader hides it from Yancy at first, but he discovers what's going on, confronts the newbie, and comforts the reader.

Happy State Penitentiary has now become home to you, you turned from a person attempting to break out of prison to an institutionalized inmate who’s madly in love with their fellow convict. After Yancy had convinced you to stay with him using his charming smile and incredible singing, you’re the happiest you’ve ever been. This was the height of luxury, you’d spend your days lounging around with Yancy by your side and the whole gang together like one big family. At the beginning of each month, you’d get some new inmates. The excitement Yancy would exude at the prospect of a bigger family always made your heart swell. Usually, two to four people would be entering the prison, yet this month only one was joining the floor. It was hard at first to get to know the new girl, she was constantly talking to the group who all clamored around her asking her loads of questions. But Yancy being the honorary boss or leader would be the one to show all the new inmates around, giving them the rules and reasons why their experience wouldn’t be so bad.
“Hey, Babes how’s about youse come help me welcome the new guest, show em some hospitality? At the sound of Yancy’s voice at your cell door, you stand. Yancy is swaying slightly in a little excited movement. “I’d love to Yance.” Yancy holds out his hand for you to take. It’s warm and soft.
You follow him down the main corridor into the common grounds, the blonde girl lounges on a cushion near the back of the room. She’s so immersed in a book that she doesn’t hear Yancy and you walk up. Yancy clears his throat, “hey Missy, ready for that tour I promised youse?” She gasps slightly, dropping her book from her fright at the sudden noise. She collects herself and immediately smiles at the recognition of Yancy’s voice. Both Yancy and you smile at her trying to be as friendly as possible. She looks up at Yancy a wide smile on her face while her eyes quickly scan him, she stops to stare at the sight of his hand intertwined with yours. Her face immediately falls, and she glares slightly in your direction before quickly putting on a neutral face.
Yancy notices her confusion at the sight of you and him. “Brought my partner along, wanted to introduce you two’s get youse acquainted” he smiles proudly squeezing your hand reassuringly. Missy smiles slightly and rises to her feet “lead the way handsome” she says as she places a hand on his arm. You scowl at that, did she not understand you two were together? You thought Yancy had been pretty clear and obvious. Whatever, she’d figure it out soon enough.
“Alright, let’s get to work” he quickens his pace and begins his long rehearsed tour. “Come on meet the gang... There’s jimmy the pickle and shithole hank...” the members smile or wave when they’re introduced. She smiles at them all, talks to the ones she’s already met and overall seems very friendly.
“Finally, you know me, Yancy the devilishly handsome boss and this is my goyfriend (Y/N)” he smiles proudly.
“It’s great to meet you all,” she said in a cutesy tone “You’re all so welcoming I think I’m going to like it here” she beams and everyone hollers and cheers at her positive attitude.
It had now officially been a month with Missy in the prison. And you still don’t know anything about her, just that she doesn’t like you. She had been giving you the dirtiest looks ever since she saw Yancy kiss you. Missy had even cornered you in the bathroom alone "(Y/N), you need to stay out of my way." You immediately turn from the sink to look at her, "What?" this is the first sentence she had ever spoken directly at you. "You heard me stay out of my way or you'll regret it." she snaps."What's this about Missy?" you played coy. She scowls, "You know what it's about, I like your boyfriend. So stay out of my way." She walks out leaving you in the bathroom alone.
You decided not to tell Yancy about the new recruit, you trusted him completely and you weren't afraid of her. Besides, you didn't want to stir up any more fights Yancy was still on thin ice with the warden since the fight you two had. Of course, it led to your decision to stay with him but solitaire is never a good time for any prisoner.
So you took whatever Missy threw at you. It didn't hurt you, you need a thick skin in prison. But, it made hanging out with the gang such a chore. Hearing the constant praise and overall joy of having Missy around made you gag. Eventually, you stopped seeing so much of the gang, and then you took to only kissing Yancy when the two of you were alone.  But Missy wanted you completely out of the picture any time she saw you two walking together she'd put herself between the two of you and occupy all of Yancy's attention, now you were getting jealous.
Yancy had noticed your reserved mood and he hated it. You weren’t hanging out with Tiny, Bambam, or any of the gang anymore. They'd started questioning him about you, which only stressed him out more. He was cycling through dozens of questions and fears in his mind. “Were you regretting staying with him?” “Do you not like him anymore?” “Were you going to leave the family?” 
He had been pacing around the grounds for hours now, he stopped just out of view from your cell to see Missy talking to you. You seemed irked while Missy seemed hostile. “Yancy is way out of your league he’s way too perfect for someone like you.” Missy was inches from your face in an attempt to intimidate you. You held your head high showing no emotion, making Missy increasingly agitated. “Missy, give it a rest this isn’t a high school I’m not going to stress over your jealousy” You sighed, turning around to focus on tidying the shared cell.
“If you don’t stop getting in my way I can get this entire prison against you, hell I could get the warden to throw your ass out in a second. So don’t fuck with me.” she snarls and stomps out overdramatically. You were holding on to pillow so hard your knuckles were white, with each passing day it was getting harder and harder to not punch Missy’s face in. You sigh, attempting to calm yourself before doing anything you’d regret. 
Yancy stands out of sight, his expression cold as he asses the scene he just witnessed. With little contemplation, he skips your cell entirely and speeds to catch up to Missy. He knows you won’t be happy if he starts another fight landing himself a spot in solitary, but as of this moment, he's furious.  
“Hey, Missy! Wait up!" Missy immediately turns, her face lights up. "Yancy, Hi!" He gives her a tight smile. “I was wondering, what’s been going on between you and my honey?” Missy frowns, she feigns innocence. “They hate me, Yance, I don’t why. They hate when I talk to anyone in the group, and they especially hate when I talk to you” She sighs and pretends to be on the verge of tears. He moves closer to her as if to console her. “Well, I know what’s youse been doing Missy. My Honey they’s good people, that’s why they ain’t done anything about youse’s little threats.” She pales, realizing she’s been caught in her lie. “What?” She says attempting to act oblivious.
As if the gang could sense Yancy required backup the whole crew comes up behind him, each wearing a similar disapproving expression. She begins to panic, Yancy places a hand on her shoulder wearing the same tight smile.
“I don’t need to remind youse why I’m in here, I just want to make it clear, if youse continue with the threats towards my baby. We’re going to have a body situation on our hands.” She widens her eyes in panic. “So, what do you say? Let us let bygones be bygones and stop the arguing” She nods furiously, “Great! So youse agree.” he clasps a hand on her shoulder smiling.
He turns around to address his crew, they split down the middle, giving him room to exit. He smiles and pats some members on their shoulders as he heads towards your cell. He chooses to ignore the blubbering that comes from Missy as the crew stays behind to talk to her.
A knock on your cell bars catches your attention, “Hey, youse okay sweetie?” You don’t make direct eye contact with him, you turn away and nod. He sighs and enters, he tries to give you a hug but you shrug him off. He lowers his arms dejected. “I know what’s been going on between you and Missy.” You finally make eye contact. “Why didn’t you tell me?” You sigh, “I didn’t want you getting into any more fights, I hate when you get placed into solitary you’re always different when you come back, and I can’t stand seeing you that way!”
You don’t resist his hug this time, “Baby, I need youse to tell me when something or someone is bothering you.” He wraps his arms around your waist, squishing you against him. “I love you (Y/N), I can’t have my honey being disrespected.” You smile at him, wrapping your arms around his neck staring into his eyes. “I love you, Yance, thank you. You’re my baby” you give him a quick kiss, as he blushes from the term of endearment.

They say that when you touch your soulmate for the very first time, you finally get to see your world in colour. You'll know it's your soulmate when they're the only splash of colour among the black and white scene. They say that when you touch their skin, your body will jolt and your skin will tingle as the world will slowly melt into colour.
Yet, after 26 years, Im Jaebeom was still stuck with a black and white world. He was sure his soulmate was still alive since he hadn’t experienced that heart shattering feeling that everyone says happens when their soulmates die nor was he able to suddenly see colours.
He had spent his entire life desperately looking for his spectrum. Whenever he was in crowds, he would scan the black and white crowd in hopes of finding that single person who would finally add colour to his bleak looking life. 
"What's going on?" Jaebeom asked as he entered the living room of BamBam’s apartment to join the gathering Yugyeom had asked for in their group chat. 
"I don't know. Gyeomie just asked everyone to be in the living room when he gets home." BamBam shrugged as he shared glances with his older members. 
"10 000 won says he found his soulmate." Jackson chuckles as he turned to Jinyoung and extended his hand.
"10 000 if it’s anything else at all." Jinyoung smirked at him and shook his hand. 
“I want in!” BamBam piped in excitedly. “I’m on Jinyoung hyung’s side.” He announced, laughing when Jackson pouted at him. 
“Ssh!” Youngjae quickly hushed them when they heard the keypad to the front door beeping. They turned their attention to the front door as they anticipated the entrance of the youngest member. Yugyeom stepped into the doors and behind him was a girl that looked to be around his age.
Jinyoung and BamBam both let out respective groans while Jackson threw his arms up in the air and cheered victoriously. The defeated pair reached into the pockets of their pants to pull out their wallets grumpily.
“What’s going on?” Yugyeom asked, pure confusion painting his face. 
“Jackson, Jinyoung and BamBam made a bet on what you wanted to tell us.” Youngjae chuckled as he saw how happy Jackson was to win money.
“Yeah, I haven’t said anything yet.” Yugyeom said slowly. Both Jinyoung and BamBam paused just as they were about to hand the notes to Jackson. 
“You found your soulmate, right?” Jackson squinted his eyes at the younger male. Yugyeom pursed his lips and his hand went to the back of his neck as he scratched the skin, 
“No, but I think I found someone else’s soulmate.” He said awkwardly as he stepped aside to let the girl walk forward to Mark who was silently standing behind all of them. 
“WHAT?!” All of them except for Mark and Jaebeom exclaimed as they watched the way the girl approach Mark. 
“How did you find her?” Mark asked softly as he looked up at Yugyeom. 
“I bumped into her at the 7 11 in Hongdae and she said she saw you while we were having dinner but when she wanted to approach us, we left.” He smiled at Mark. 
“Wait, so you brought a random girl to BamBam’s apartment at night without being completely sure whether or not she was telling the truth?” Jaebeom asked with wide eyes. “Yugyeom, what if she wasn’t telling the truth and she was a sasaeng?” He scolded him. 
Yugyeom let out a forced laugh, “Yeah, I wasn’t thinking about that.” He hung his head sheepishly, “But we’re lucky she is. I mean, look at them.” He gestured to the way Mark was softly speaking to the girl, wearing the widest smile they had ever seen. 
“So, you haven’t found your soulmate yet?” BamBam asked. Yugyeom nodded at him and BamBam threw his arms in the air, letting out a loud whoop. “Jackson hyung, you lost!” He teased Jackson who begrudgingly reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. 
“Sorry you haven’t found your soulmate yet, Gyeomie.” Jinyoung apologised while chuckling. 
“It’s fine. I’m fine with waiting for the time that I do.” Yugyeom shrugged. “It’ll come eventually. I just have to be patient.” He gave his hyung a toothy smile, making them smile as they patted him on the back. Jaebeom was the only one who was standing behind them as they expressed their pride for Yugyeom in acting so mature. He was watching the way Mark and his soulmate were interacting with a sour taste filling his mouth. 
Jaebeom didn’t want to feel this way. He was happy that one of his closest friends had finally found their soulmate, but he felt sad. Among the seven of them, Jaebeom and Yugyeom were the only ones left who hadn’t found their soulmates. Seeing the way Yugyeom felt about finding his soulmate made Jaebeom feel silly, childish even, for being so impatient that he hadn’t found his soulmate. 
 “You okay?” Youngjae placed a hand on Jaebeom’s shoulder when he noticed him zoning out. Jaebeom turned to him and stared at him blankly for a moment before quickly nodding, 
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little tired.” He forced a smile, “I’m going to head home first. I think I spent too much time in the studio this week.” He muttered as he bid goodnight to his friends and left the apartment. He let out a sigh as he began walking towards the lift. He unlocked his phone and opened a picture Jinyoung had sent him. 
The last time they went to the beach, Jinyoung had taken a candid of Jaebeom standing along the shoreline. He said the water was blue and the sand was ivory. Jaebeom tried to imagine it but he couldn’t. Not when all he knew was black and white. 
Jaebeom’s walk back to his apartment was silent as he let himself get immersed in his thoughts. He remembered the girlfriends in his life that - at first - said that they didn’t care about finding their soulmates, but they ended up leaving him when they did. His heart ached. He felt so lonely. He gave up dating girls after the third one left him for their soulmate. 
Since then, he had been desperately trying to find his own soulmate. But even then, his hope was dwindling. He was losing faith that he would ever find them. Maybe he would end up being one of those lost souls who never found their mate. Maybe he would end up spending his entire life in black and white, only to die to be reborn where he would have to begin his search once again. 
Jaebeom stopped outside of his apartment and stared at the gray building. He let out a sigh as he turned around and decided that he needed a longer walk to clear his mind. A soft breeze blew past him as he stood at the bridge, looking out as the moon reflected on the water. The moon was the only thing he was sure he knew the colour of. It was white. 
He craned his neck up and stared at the moon, letting out a soft sigh. “I’ll find them, right?” He whispered out to the moon. He let out another sigh as he bent down and leaned his chin on where his hands were resting on the rails of the bridge, letting the sound of the river gently flowing fill his ears to calm his racing thoughts. 
“Jaebeom hyung?” A familiar voice made him turn around to see Hyunjin staring at him from the edge of the bridge. Jaebeom immediately stood straighter, not wanting to show any kind of sensitivity to his junior. 
“Hyunjin, what are you doing here so late?” Jaebeom asked when Hyunjin approached him. 
“I needed to clear my thoughts.” The younger male shrugged as he rested his hands on the railing and looked out at the river. 
“Are you okay?” He asked, slightly worried for Hyunjin. 
“Yeah,” He nodded, but the way his voice faltered slightly was not convincing anyone. Jaebeom placed a comforting hand on Hyunjin’s shoulder. The action caused Hyunjin to break down, completely surprising Jaebeom. 
“Woah! What’s wrong?” He questioned, panic lacing his voice as he rubs the younger male’s back comfortingly. 
“H-Hyung,” Hyunjin sobbed out as he turned and hugged his senior. Jaebeom wrapped his arms around him hesitantly and did the best he could to comfort him. 
“Hey, it’s okay.” He spoke gently, not wanting to make him feel any worse than he already did. It took a while but when Hyunjin finally caught his breath and calmed down, Jaebeom couldn’t help but wonder what made him this distressed. “What happened?” He asked as he pulled away slightly to look at him. 
“M-My s-s-soulmate, I-I think th-they’re d-d-dead.” He hiccuped as he avoided looking at Jaebeom in the eyes, embarrassed for breaking down in front of his senior. Jaebeom’s eyes widened instead, he couldn’t imagine how that must feel like. 
“What makes you say that?” He asked as he gently rubbed Hyunjin’s shoulders to calm him down. 
“T-The colours.” Hyunjin muttered out as he tried to hold back his tears. “I can see c-colours.” His lip trembled and he broke down into sobs once again. Jaebeom pulled Hyunjin back into his arms and hushed him softly, 
“It’s okay, Hyunjin-ah.” He spoke softly. He felt terrible for his junior. “Are you sure you didn’t accidentally bump into them without noticing?” Jaebeom asked, well aware of how impossible that would be.
“I was in my dorm and suddenly my chest started hurting and colours started to blend into my sight.” He muttered out, sniffling as he kept his face on Jaebeom’s shoulder. The older idol let his junior stay in his arms for a bit longer. Even though he was unable to imagine the pain of losing a soulmate, he knew the pain of not meeting them. 
“How about,” Jaebeom pulled away to look at Hyunjin in the eyes, “We grab something to eat. Maybe it’ll make you feel better.” He suggested. The Stray Kids member nodded and wiped his tears with the back of his hand as Jaebeom led the way to a nearby stall. 
“I’m sorry you had to see that.” Hyunjin mumbled out shamefully as he trailed behind him. 
“It’s okay, Hyunjin. We're people. It's not wrong to feel sad.” Jaebeom glanced over his shoulder to flash a comforting smile to him. Hyunjin could feel his spirits lifting slightly at the words of his senior. 
"Thanks, hyung." He smiled slightly as he caught up with Jaebeom so that he was walking beside him. “So, you can see colour now?” He questioned. 
“Yeah,” He let out a sigh and pursed his lips, “I can see colours, but I don't see it as a good thing. My soulmate’s dead.” He looked ahead blankly, “And everything is worse now.” Jaebeom bit his lip as he turned to look at him. His brown eyes were empty, bloodshot and staring at nothing as they walked. “Your soulmate’s still alive, right?” Hyunjin turned to Jaebeom who nodded slowly, 
“I haven’t met them yet, but they’re still alive.” He answered. Hyunjin nodded at that, 
“Do you think you’ll ever meet them?” He questioned softly. His voice was so soft, if Jaebeom hadn’t had his full attention on him, he wouldn’t have heard him.
“I don’t know, Hyunjin.” Jaebeom sighs, “I hope I will, but sometimes I just feel like I’ll never meet them.” He paused for a moment and sucked a breath in through his teeth, “Sorry.” He felt his brain start to fill with panic from the slip. 
“It’s okay, hyung.” Hyunjin chuckled, “I guess there’s a silver lining to this. Colour’s nice to look at.” He hummed out, doing his best to not sulk over it. 
“What does colour look like?” He asked, causing Hyunjin to turn to him before looking forward at the buildings in front of them. 
“Interesting. It’s a bit overwhelming, but right now everything is overwhelming.” The chuckle that left his lips was sad, making Jaebeom purse his lips as he turned back ahead and led Hyunjin into a small stall that was still open in the late hour. They sat down, ordered their food and the waitress returned with two shot glasses and a bottle of soju. 
“You can drink your feelings away, I’ll walk you back to your dorm if you get drunk.” Jaebeom joked as he poured Hyunjin a glass. 
“I would rather not embarrass myself in front of my senior.” Hyunjin shook his head with a laugh leaving his lips. “I can handle my alcohol quite well, so I won’t get drunk this evening.” He smiled as their food arrived. 
Oh, was he so wrong. 
Jaebeom had his arm around Hyunjin’s shoulders to steady the stumbling boy, carefully guiding him back to his dorm. 
“Aish, you said you wouldn’t get drunk.” Jaebeom mused as he did the best he could. 
“Hyuuuuuuung,” Hyunjin giggled out with a slur, “Don’t be sad that you haven’t met them.” He mumbled out as he leaned against the walls of the dorm building. Jaebeom stared at him speechlessly. “I’m never going to meet mine but it’s okay. You still have a chance at meeting yours.” His eyes were starting to droop and his body slumped over, quickly causing his senior to scramble to stop him from falling over. 
Jaebeom knocked on the front door, hearing footsteps approaching after a moment before the door opened to reveal a disheveled and tired looking Bang Chan. The younger leader’s eyes widened when he saw Hyunjin leaning on Jaebeom, 
“Is this about the soulmate?” He asked as he carefully took Hyunjin from his arms. Jaebeom nodded with a sigh,
“He got drunk. Take care of him and make sure he drinks plenty of water. He’s going through a rough time.” He watched as Chan steadied Hyunjin with an arm around his shoulders, 
“Okay, thanks, JB hyung.” He nodded at Jaebeom before closing the door. “MINHO! HELP ME!” The muffled yell of Chan came through the door and startled Jaebeom, causing him to jump slightly. 
He waited for a moment, chuckling slightly when he heard the chaos that was starting to wreak their dorms; thuds and what sounded like a lot of stumbling, tripping and multiple items falling to the ground.
The walk back to Jaebeom’s apartment was quiet even with the music that was filling his ears from his headphones. It was well past midnight and his mind was still disturbed. Hyunjin’s words stuck with him. 
Don’t be sad you haven't met them. 
He bit his lip as he thought about it, further disrupting his mind. Was he being too immature about it? No, he was just worried he would never meet them, right? Jaebeom stopped outside his apartment building. He had nowhere else to go, might as well step inside now. 
He tossed his keys onto the kitchen counter and took his jacket off, slipping it onto the coat rack and made his way through his quiet apartment. He stepped into his bedroom and stared at the computer on his desk, the glow from his screen saver of a picture of him and his friends illuminating the wooden desk. Turning on the lights, he moved over to sit at his desk and let out a deep sigh. 
The picture on his desk was staring back at him almost mockingly. It’s like purple with some blue and pink. It’s nice to look at. The words that Youngjae had used to describe the picture echoed in his head. 
Jaebeom got it as a gift from one of his cousins who had met their soulmate really early into their life and decided they wanted to become a painter. The colours to him were the same colours he had become too close to; black and white. 
He had no spectrum.

Jaebeom awoke to one of his cats licking his nose. His eyes groggily opened to see Cake staring at him, her tail and ears perking up when she finally got him to wake up. He let out a chuckle when she started to snuggle against him, letting out a few meows when she bumped her head against his hand. 
He sat up only to realise that all five of his cats were on his bed with their eyes on him. 
“Woah, what’s wrong?” He questioned them, knowing that they’d only gather in his room for his comfort when something was different. He glanced over at the clock sitting on his bedside table. 9:21. He pulled the covers off of himself before sliding out of bed when he heard quite a loud sound coming from the hallways outside of his apartment. 
Without much care that he was still in his pajamas, he made his way to his front door with Kunta and Odd following him as he took a peek to the outside. The pile of boxes in the hallway and the sight of a lone girl carrying the boxes on his own made him step out, being careful not to let his cats out. 
“You need any help?” He asked the girl when she stepped back out of the apartment, jumping slightly when she saw him. 
“Oh, yes please. My flatmate had to fly out to her hometown, leaving me to carry all of our stuff on our own.” She let out a relieved sigh at the offer but when she saw his outfit, she immediately felt guilty. “Were you sleeping? I’m so sorry, it’s hard to move these boxes around quietly.” She sheepishly apologised but Jaebeom simply smiled at her, 
“It’s okay. I’ve been sleeping in a lot lately anyway.” He reassured her and picked up one of the boxes. The two proceeded to move the boxes into the previously empty apartment and Jaebeom learned that the girls moving in were college roommates that decided to move in together when (Y/n) had graduated. He also learned that the girl that was unfortunately left to move in their stuff on her own - (Y/n) - was a dance major. 
“I haven’t thanked you yet, so here’s a drink as a thank you.” (Y/n) handed him a glass of lemonade. They were pretty much done with just one more box sitting in the living room, ready to be unpacked. 
“Thanks.” Jaebeom smiled as he wiped the sweat forming on his forehead with the back of his hand, “So, when’s your friend coming back?” He asked after taking a few sips from the refreshing drink. 
“I’m actually not sure.” She shrugged, “She said something happened back home and even she doesn’t know when she’ll come back.” She sighed as she sipped on her own glass. He nodded at that. They stood together in silence as (Y/n) was admiring her new home. 
“What’s her name?” He asked after a moment. 
“Haneul.” She hummed out, her attention still to the now decorated apartment. “We’re moving in together because I’m scared of living alone and I miss living with her.” She chuckled out, taking another sip from her glass as she turned herself to face Jaebeom. “Do you have any flatmates?” She questioned. 
“No,” He shook his head, “I do have five cats, though. They keep me company.” He chuckled. “All of my friends have their own apartments and they’re allergic to cat fur, so I guess it’s fitting.” He shrugged. 
“Five cats?” (Y/n) let out a snort, “You’re one man.” She pointed out. 
“Yeah, they’re assholes sometimes but that’s how cats are like.” He joked. “They do dumb shit, but I love them nonetheless. They’re like my children.” He chuckled as he put the now empty glass onto the kitchen peninsula. 
“What are their names?” She questioned as she put her glass on the counter. 
“Nora, Kunta, Odd, Cake and Baire.” He hummed out. 
“What colours are they?” She asked. Jaebeom stood still as he stared into the living room, the familiar loneliness that had previously disappeared started to fill his mind. 
“I can’t see colours yet.” He muttered out, “Haven’t found my soulmate yet.” The vibe in the room had immediately made a 180 flip, (Y/n) afraid that she had accidentally offended her new neighbour. 
“Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked that.” She apologised softly but Jaebeom shook his head, 
“It’s fine. Most of the people our age have already found their soulmates. I’m just one of the unfortunate few that haven’t.” He turned to her with the corner of his lip lifting slightly to give her a half smile. “Have you met yours yet?” He asked. 
“Nope, and I never will.” She let out a soft sigh. “I started seeing colours when I was a child and I remember crying for months because of how much it hurt.”
“I’m sorry about that.” Jaebeom let out a sigh as well. “I guess we’re a pair of losers without soulmates.” He joked, enticing a chuckle out of her, 
“I guess.” (Y/n) leaned over the counter before turning up to look at him, “Are you actively searching for them?” She questioned. Her tone of voice was suggesting something that Jaebeom had already experienced. Something too familiar. 
“If you’re thinking that way, how about I pick you up tomorrow at 11?” He turned to face his entire body to her. He had to admit, she was a beautiful woman and they had just spent the entire morning moving stuff around without once feeling uncomfortable or awkward. He was sure this time would be different since there was a guarantee she wouldn’t leave him for her soulmate. 
“Again, I’m sorry I disturbed your slumber with how loud I was being.” She apologised as she walked him out into the hallway. 
“It’s seriously no problem. My cats actually woke me up, but I think it’s a good thing.” He waved his hand at her with a smile on his face. 
“Thank you for the help, Jaebeom.” She smiled as she leaned against her doorway. 
“No problem, (Y/n).” He stood in the hallway, only now taking in her beauty as she stood in just a simple tank top and a pair of leggings. (Y/n) was taking in his natural beauty as well. This man was standing in an oversized t shirt and a pair of baggy shorts yet he was still among the most handsome men she had ever laid her eyes upon. 
“I guess I’ll see you tomorrow, neighbour.” She giggled as she took a step backwards into her home. 
“Yeah,” Jaebeom nodded and waved at her as she closed her front door. He smiled to himself as he made his way into his apartment only a few doors down from hers and stepped in, Odd greeting him as he did. Nora sat on the cat tower in the living room, immediately sitting up at the arrival of her owner. 
The loud meow coming from the kitchen brought Jaebeom’s attention to an annoyed looking Cake and Baire sitting in front of their empty food bowls. 
“Oh, right.” It was way past breakfast time for the cats and he had accidentally forgotten since he had spent the morning with (Y/n) instead. He quickly filled the food bowls, all of the cats gathering in his kitchen to enjoy their late breakfast as he headed into the bathroom for a much needed shower.
Jaebeom went by his day with his usual routine whenever he wasn't in the studio or practicing; have lunch, spend time composing on his computer, take a nap with at least two of his cats, compose on his keyboard, cuddle with Nora, have dinner, cuddle with all of his cats and shake his head at the daily meme Yugyeom or BamBam would send to their group chat. 
Jaebeom stood outside of (Y/n)’s apartment the next morning, anticipating his date with her. He was surprised when the door opened right as he was about to knock and his jaw went slack when he saw her dressed in a simple crop top and a pair of black denim shorts. 
(Y/n) lets out a giggle as she steps out of her apartment, "Close your mouth before something flies in." Jaebeom quickly closed his mouth, a blush making its way onto his face. 
"S-Shall we?" He cleared his throat and bent his arm for her which she gladly linked her arm around his. 
That day spent together was one of the best Jaebeom had had. He was happy around her; comfortable. (Y/n) couldn't help but smile the entire time, her eyes glinting with joy every time he cracked a bad joke. 
One thing she had that he didn't was the ability to see the strings. (Y/n) could see the strings attaching each others souls and it was up to her to bring lone souls to their other halves. 
That was exactly what she was going to do with Jaebeom. 
She just couldn't let him know what she could see. He would either freak out or pressure her and she couldn't have that. 
"Are you okay?" Jaebeom asked when he noticed that (Y/n) had long been zoned out. 
"Huh?" She turned to him slowly before quickly nodding, "Oh yeah, just thinking about work." She hummed out. She could see his string but she couldn't see who it was attached to.

“Goodnight.” Jaebeom hummed out as they stood outside (Y/n)’s apartment. Five months had gone by pretty quickly, Haneul still nowhere to be found and the relationship between (Y/n) and Jaebeom blossoming into something more beautiful than she had actually hoped for. 
“Goodnight, Jaebeom.” She smiled, waving at him as she let herself into the apartment. She looked down at the polaroid picture in her hands of the two together, smiling like an idiot at the way Jaebeom forced a sloppy kiss onto her cheeks just as Jinyoung snapped the photo. 
Her attention from the photo averted when she saw a red string floating around the apartment and leading into Haneul’s room. 
“Eonnie?” She called out to what she thought was an empty apartment. The bedroom door flung open and her roommate immediately threw her arms around (Y/n). 
“(Y/n)!” She happily squealed out as she hugged her tightly, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry I was gone for so long.” She quickly apologised when she pulled away.
“What happened? I thought you weren’t supposed to be home for another few months.” (Y/n) questioned as she looked at her. She was shocked but she was still happy nonetheless. She could once again live with her best friend in the apartment they wanted to fill with memories. 
“My mum forced me out of Jeju. I’m not even exaggerating. She bought me the train ticket and said I had nothing else to worry about and that my aunt was okay.” Haneul giggled as she sat herself on the chair that was behind the kitchen counter. 
“She kicked you out?” (Y/n) snorted as she opened their fridge, “Sounds about right. You keep getting kicked out of places.” She joked, placing a bottle of Cass in front of her and opening one for herself. 
“Yeah, I do.” Haneul chuckles, taking a swig from the bottle of beer. “Where were you? You don’t usually go out this late.” She asked, gesturing to the clock hanging from the kitchen wall. 
(Y/n) turned to the clock, only now realising that it was almost midnight. She had spent the whole day with Jaebeom, she hadn’t even realised that they just spent most of their time in his studio with Jinyoung. 
“I was with a friend.” She hummed out as she took a swig from her bottle.
“A guy friend?” She cocked an eyebrow suggestively. “Who is he? You haven’t had a guy friend in a while.” She giggled. 
“He’s…” (Y/n) trailed off as she turned away from her roommate and leaned against the counter, “Someone I’m trying to help find his soulmate.” She sighed out. Haneul furrowed her brows at that and she stood up, rounding the counter so that she could stand beside (Y/n). 
“You’re still doing that?” She questioned, a hint of anger in her voice. “(Y/n), you actually end up liking these people. Doesn’t it ever get tiring, you know, mentally?” She raised a brow as she looked at her. 
“Sometimes, but I feel like it’s worth it.” (Y/n) shrugged, bringing the bottle to her lips to take a slightly bigger swig. “It’s redeeming, I guess. I’ll never get to meet my soulmate in this lifetime. Might as well help other people meet theirs so they don’t end up like me.” She bit the inside of her cheek as she thought about it. “But, falling in love with him is inevitable.” She let out a sigh. 
“He’s just that perfect?” Haneul questioned softly. 
“He’s just that perfect.” (Y/n) nodded sadly. “He’s everything that I feel like my soulmate could’ve been.” She stared at the tiled wall of the kitchen, “But his soul belongs to someone else and I can’t do anything about that.” She muttered out. Her roommate watched her sadly. 
(Y/n) had this strange need in wanting to help everyone around her even if it cost her something important. That something important was always her partners when she managed to find their soulmates and gave them up so they could be together. 
“You need to stop doing that. It worries me.” She shook her head as she put her hand on (Y/n)’s shoulder, “You deserve someone who makes you happy. Not someone who you’ll let leave eventually. You’ll never be able to be happy with someone when you keep giving your partners away.” She stated. 
Of course Haneul was slightly angry about this. She hated seeing (Y/n) suffer from the breakup when she connects two souls. “Don’t you remember Chan? You dated him for five years in high school and when you found his soulmate, you cried for a whole year.” She brought back the bitter memory, trying to convince (Y/n) otherwise. 
“Don’t bring that up.” She snapped, “Chan is a whole different story. We were in high school. I was dumb enough to love him that much.” She threw Haneul a look, “Ever since Chan, I learned how to not fall in love as hard. It’s easier now.”
Haneul frowns, “You’re already liking this new guy a lot. I can see it. Just let yourself be happy for once and forget his soulmate.” She shook her head and crossed her arms over her chest, her brown hair starting to slowly fall out of the messy bun she had tied, “I don’t want you to look for his soulmate this time. I want you to be in an actual relationship.”
“Eonnieeeeee-” (Y/n) whined but was quickly cut off.
“No, I’m not letting you.” She shook her head yet again. “I want you to be happy with this guy. Now,” She pulled the half empty bottle of alcohol out of (Y/n)’s hand, “Go sleep. I’ll finish these bottles because I haven’t drank in a while. In the morning, I want you to go see your new friend and spend time with him properly.” She clapped her hands onto her shoulders and started guiding her into her bedroom. 
“Eonnie, it’s unrealistic. Even if I don’t find his soulmate, he’ll probably find them on his own.” (Y/n) stubbornly retaliated but still didn’t really put up much of a fight as she was guided into her room. 
“I don’t care. I don’t want you to look for them for him.” She sternly said after she had pushed her into the room. 
“I-”
“Bup bup!” Haneul raised her hand to cut her off, “Relationship time. No soulmate hunting. Relationship.” (Y/n) let out a sigh before nodding, 
“Okay. I won’t look for his soulmate.” She finally gave in. “Goodnight, Haneul eonnie.” She hummed as Haneul finally started to make her way to her bedroom, both bottles of beer held in between her fingers.
“Goodnight, (Y/n).” She waved at her as she stepped into her own bedroom. 
“Don’t get too drunk!” (Y/n) advised as she watched her immediately start chugging one of the bottles as she closed the door. She let out a chuckle before closing her door and plopped herself onto her bed. The buzz of her phone that came from her purse made her turn over onto her stomach to look at the message.

An audio file was attached to it which (Y/n) played. Her heart fluttered when she heard the soft, comforting tune that he had played onto his keyboard. 
Jaebeom waited at his desk for (Y/n)’s response, his foot bouncing nervously as he leaned back in his chair. Was it too cheesy that he told her he technically wrote a small tune for her? 
He stared at his phone as it sat beside his keyboard, anxiously waiting when it buzzed. He immediately picked up his phone and started smiling like an idiot when he saw her reply.

Maybe, just maybe, this time (Y/n) could actually let herself fall in love once again. Maybe, this time she could forget that souls are bound and that hopefully, he wouldn’t leave her for his own soulmate.

“So, what are we doing today?” (Y/n) hums out as she sticks the spoon of ice cream into her mouth, her eyes sending a puzzling look to Jaebeom. He had invited her out without much of a plan and they had spontaneously gotten ice cream and sat themselves on the park bench, the buzz of the park filling their systems as they sat together. 
Despite the low temperature, (Y/n) still craved the cold dessert and Jaebeom just followed because the moment he saw her ice cream cup, he wanted some too. Christmas had just passed, the park still scattered with various Christmas decorations as they sat together on the cold park bench. 
“Anything.” He shrugged, licking his own ice cream, a black mask pulled down to his neck so he could eat. “I just like spending time with you.” His hum made (Y/n) freeze, a blush creeping onto her face as she stared at him with wide eyes. He shot her a cheeky smile, his free hand reaching up to cup her face. Unexpectedly, he pinched her cheek instead, “Aigoooo, you’re so cute when you’re flustered.” He teased. 
“Aish.” (Y/n) pulled away from him and adjusted herself so that she could hide her face in her hair. She couldn’t hide her smile though. She took Haneul’s words into thought and for once, decided that maybe she should really give this a chance. She ignored the red string that led out of his chest and felt lighter when she let herself fall for him. 
“You’re cute.” Jaebeom chuckled, wrapping an arm around her shoulders to pull her towards him. 
“Stoooppp.” She whined out when he continued to tease her by shaking her shoulders. 
“You’re so cute!” He giggled, squeezing her form against his. 
“Jaebeomieeee, stooop.” (Y/n) continued to whine, feeling more embarrassed for him than for herself. 
“Okay, okay, I’ll stop.” He smiled widely as he finally stopped his teasing torture on her. “I’m sorry. Every time I see you, I just wanna pinch your cheeks and squeeze you.” He joked as he leaned back onto the bench. (Y/n) shot him a pout, the blush never disappearing as she looked at him. 
“You’re cute too.” She muttered out. Jaebeom turned to her with a questioning look. “I said you’re cute too. I like your face.” She smiled as she ran a hand through his long hair and ruffled it. He scrunched his nose at her and couldn’t fight the smile that made its way onto his face. 
“What else do you like about me?” He asked as he sat up straighter. 
“Hmmm,” She pretended to take a while to think about it, causing him to nudge her lightly. “A lot.” She giggled, “I like your face a lot. I like your hair even though it keeps getting longer every time we go on dates or hang out. I also like your voice when you sing. It’s really soothing.” She smiled when she saw his cheeks start to redden. “You’re cute when you blush.” She teased, poking his sides lightly and laughed when he flinched. 
They let the silence between them settle as they watched a man play with his dog. Wait, not just any man. The man turned to the two and his face lit up.
“Jaebeom hyung!” Youngjae called out when he saw them. Jaebeom waved at him excitedly as Youngjae ran over, Coco following behind him. To (Y/n), Youngjae’s string was blue. He’s found his soulmate. She thought as she watched him jog over with his dog following behind him. 
“Are you here alone?” He asked when his younger friend approached them. 
“Mark hyung is somewhere here.” Youngjae scratched his head as he looked around to park to see if he could see Mark. “He was doing some tricking but he disappeared when I threw Coco’s frisbee a bit far.” He muttered out before turning to them. “I don’t think we’ve met yet, I’m Youngjae.” He smiled as he bowed to (Y/n). 
“I’m (Y/n).” She stood up and returned to bow. 
“Oh!” His eyes lit up, “You must be the (Y/n) Jaebeom hyung talks about all the time.” He chuckled when Jaebeom shot him a look. (Y/n) turned to Jaebeom who quickly softened his expression when she did so.
“Jaebeomie talks about me a lot?” She smirked at him as his cheeks deeply reddened. 
“All the time!” Youngjae nodded, giddy that he could embarrass his hyung in front of the girl he wouldn’t stop talking about for the past few months. 
“Really?” She turned back to Youngjae with a cheeky grin etched onto her face. “What does he say about me?” She asked. Jaebeom aggressively shook his head at Youngjae, pleading him to not embarrass him in front of her. 
“He hasn’t stopped talking about you ever since he helped you move in. He always talks about this really cute girl who lives across from him and whenever you post on your Instagram he does this:” Youngjae mimicked the way Jaebeom would dance around excitedly. “Then he’ll show us the picture and say ‘look at her! She’s so cute, right?’” 
“Okay! That’s enough!” Jaebeom stood up and pulled (Y/n) gently so she would be behind him, “Youngjae, please stop.” He pleaded softly. Youngjae nodded, finally letting up, 
“Okay, hyung. I’ll stop.” He giggled. Jaebeom let out a relieved sigh and turned around to see that (Y/n) was no longer behind him. 
“Huh, where’d she go?” He questioned as he looked around the park. Youngjae looked around as well, 
“Where’s Coco?” He questioned as well. “Did your girlfriend steal my dog?” He asked with bewildered eyes. 
“I don’t think she did and she’s not my girlfriend.” He shook his head as they continued to search the park. 
“Coco?” Youngjae called out, panic starting to fill him. 
“Wait, over there.” Jaebeom pointed to where Mark was talking to (Y/n), Coco’s leash in her hand. 
“Oh my god, she did steal my dog!” Youngjae exclaimed as the two quickly made their way over to where she was. 
“(Y/n), did you try and steal Coco?” Jaebeom asked her. She turned to him and her eyes widened at his accusation, quickly shaking her head, 
“She was getting restless since Youngjae was talking to you. So, I took her around for a bit and bumped into Mark-ssi.” She gestured to the older man who was crouched on the ground and giving Coco a belly rub. Mark’s string was blue as well.
“I found her while she was running around with Coco.” Mark stated without turning his attention away from the white ball of fluff. “I thought it was weird that she was with a stranger, but (Y/n)-ssi told me she was Jaebeom’s friend.” He stood up, Coco giving him a sad look when he did. “Then I realised she was the girl Jaebeom talks about all the time.” He bit his lip as he gave Jaebeom a mischievous smile. 
“Okay, (Y/n)-ie, let’s go.” Jaebeom huffed out as he held onto her forearm and pulled her away from his friends out of fear of being embarrassed any further. 
“Your friends seem nice.” (Y/n) giggled as she waved to Youngjae and Mark. 
“Did they tell you anything?” Jaebeom muttered out once they were quite a distance from the two. 
“Mark-ssi just told me exactly what Youngjae-ssi told me.” She giggled once more, nudging his shoulder teasingly. “So, you’ve been talking about me a lot and going,” She copied the dance Youngjae had done before, making Jaebeom cover his face in embarrassment. 
She linked her arm with his, pulling his hand away from his face and started walking with him. “It’s okay, I think it’s flattering.” She reassured him, smiling at the way he was avoiding her gaze by keeping his face turned away from her. 
“It’s embarrassing.” He muttered out as he pulled his mask back up over the lower half of his face, still avoiding eye contact with her. She tugged on his arm to the side. 
“Jaebeomie, look at me.” He ignored her request and still avoided her eyes. She looked around, making sure there were no wandering eyes before pulling his mask down. Before he could even ask what she was doing she had pulled his face down and pressed his lips to hers. 
His eyes widened, his brain not having enough time to process what was happening even after she pulled away. Jaebeom stared at her in shock, his face unbelievably red. (Y/n) still had her hands cupping his face before pulling them away quickly. 
“S-Sorry, was that too sudden?” She asked, scared that she had taken it a step too far. 
“I-I. N-no, I’m just. I-I d-didn’t expect that.” He stuttered out as he continued to stare at her with the widest eyes in the world.
“You weren’t looking at me. What else was I supposed to do?” She muttered out as she looked away from him, soft pout on her lips. His eyes moved to her lips and he was unable to stop himself when he leaned down to kiss her once again. His kiss knocked the wind out of (Y/n). 
She wasn’t expecting him to kiss her again, the feeling of his soft lips molding against her own left her completely breathless when he pulled away and she looked up at him with her lips parted. 
“Be my girlfriend.” Jaebeom blurted out. He felt like he had no control over his body and mind anymore. 
“O-Okay.” (Y/n) nodded, still in a blur from the kiss. 
“Really?” He questioned, unsure whether she was just saying it from being flustered or if she was really accepting. She nodded once again, more confidently this time. 
“I’ll be your girlfriend.” Jaebeom nodded his head for clarification. She nodded for the third time and he smiled; widely. 
“Okay.” He took her hand in his. They started walking - without any actual direction - with their hands laced and both their hearts warmed and fluttering. The entire time, (Y/n) was ignoring where Jaebeom’s red string was floating towards, content with the position she had decided to let herself fall into. 
(Y/n)’s hand felt warm in Jaebeom’s. For once, instead of feeling giddy, he felt safe. Her presence brought him comfort and he had never been so sure of a person before. As he glanced over at her while they walked, the glow of the evening sun illuminating their figures as they walked, he was sure he wouldn’t leave her for his soulmate. He would never. He was absolutely sure of it. 
“Jaebeom-ah.” (Y/n) waved her hand in front of his face, snapping him out of his thoughts. He blinked a few times before turning to her with a questioning glance. “We’re at our apartments.” She gestured to the doors that led into their homes. 
“Oh, I didn’t realise.” He muttered out sheepishly. (Y/n) tilted her head slightly at him, 
“What were you thinking about?” She asked as they stood in the hallway, hands still interlocked. 
“Something.” He hummed out, “Nothing you should be too worried about.” He smiled at her slightly. 
“Is it really? You looked like you were thinking about it all the way back.” She pestered. “You can tell me if something’s bothering you. Locking your thoughts and feelings away from other people makes them harder to handle.” 
“It’s nothing major, I promise.” He reassured her, his thumb gently running over her knuckles. 
“Okay, I trust you.” (Y/n) nodded. 
Jaebeom lifted her hand and pressed a kiss to her knuckles, letting out a hum, “Thank you.” She smiled softly. “It’s still quite early. I’ll make you some tea.” He offered as he led her into his apartment. “I hope you’re not allergic to cat fur because it floats everywhere.” He joked as he closed the door to his home. 
This was the first time (Y/n) had actually been into his apartment. Despite spending quite some time with Jaebeom, he had never really invited her into his apartment. They would usually spend their time at his studio or in (Y/n)’s apartment. 
The state that his apartment was in, cat fur floating around and papers, a few clothes and a blanket carelessly thrown onto the living room floor seemed to be the reason why he didn’t invite her in. She ignored the slight mess when one thing excited her the most about being in his apartment; his cats.
“Where are your cats?” She questioned when she noticed that even the cat tower was lacking any of his pets. 
“Probably my bedroom. They tend to hide in there whenever they can smell new people coming into my home.” He answered as he filled his kettle with water and placed it on the stove, “You can go in there. I don’t mind.” He glanced over at her and gestured towards the first door on the left that was left ajar. 
(Y/n) slowly pushed the door open and turned on the lights, eyes widening when she saw eight pairs of eyes staring at her curiously. 
“I found them.” She announced, not too loud as to not scare the cats that were sitting on his bed. She further stepped into his bedroom, her eyes wandering around the room. She caught sight of his desk, an array of papers scattering the desk along with his keyboard and his desktop setup. 
(Y/n) continued to curiously look at his desk. Sticky notes were plastered all over the empty spots around his monitor. She read the sticky notes. Most of them seemed to be from his friends - random jokes and bad puns - while some seemed to be written by himself. One of the yellow pieces of paper caught her eye,
Continue that tune after the date with (Y/n)-ie. 
A smile made its way onto her face the more she read his handwritten notes. 
Keyboard after you spend time with (Y/n)-ie. She gives you ideas.
Don’t forget to feed the cats when you get home. 
She let out a soft giggle at that sticky note before turning her attention to the cats that were on his bed. 
“He really cares about you, huh?” She questioned as she slowly made her way over and sat herself on the edge of the bed, raising her hand to allow them to sniff her. 
The first to approach her was the Siamese, cautiously moving closer to smell her before bumping its head against her hand. The Siamese crawled onto (Y/n)’s lap, startling her slightly at how quick it was becoming acquainted with her. 
“Nora likes you already?” Jaebeom questioned with a chuckle as he walked into the bedroom with two steaming mugs in his hand. (Y/n) turned up to look at him, 
“I let her sniff me a bit and she didn’t seem to mind me that much.” She shrugged as she turned back down to Nora, smiling at the way she was already settling in her lap. (Y/n) placed her hand on the cat’s belly and started to scratch her lightly as Jaebeom sat beside her and handed her one of the mugs. 
“Nora was the first cat I got. She used to live with my parents, but I take her to live with me every once in a while.” He spoke as he looked down at his cat daughter. “Kunta and Odd were the next pair.” 
He clicked his tongue and the other three cats moved over to him to crowd their cat dad. “This is Kunta,” He gestured to the Black Shorthair. “Cake,” He gestured to the Munchkin, “And this is Baire.” He patted his hand onto the Russian Blue that was quick to settle in his lap. “I don’t know where Odd’s gone, but she’s a Turkish Angora.”
“They’re all so cute.” (Y/n) cooed as she gently ran her hand along Nora’s slender body. “Like their dad.” She turned up to Jaebeom with a cheeky smile on her face. He scrunched his nose up at her as he sipped on his tea, 
“Nora acts like me a lot. She eats a lot, sleeps a lot, and sometimes when my keyboard’s on, she’ll jump onto the table and press on the keys.” He chuckled. “Now that she likes you, I guess we have more in common.” 
“So, Mark-ssi and Youngjae-ssi mentioned that you talk about me a lot?” (Y/n) raised a brow at him. 
“Haha,” He let out an awkward laugh as he rubbed the back of his neck, “He’s just saying that to embarrass me.”
“I think it’s flattering.” She giggled. Jaebeom turned to her with an embarrass look in his eyes as he stood up. 
“Well, they’re my best friends. I don’t blame them for wanting to embarrass me all the time.” He chuckled as he made his way over to his desk. “They keep me thinking straight and positive. Especially whenever they come over and Yugyeom leaves these sticky notes.” He pulled on one of the pieces of paper off of the wall and handed it to her.
“That’s cute.” (Y/n) cooed. 
Hyung! Why did the bear have such bad mood swings? He was a BIpolar bear! :D
She let out a soft laugh when she read the note. 
“He sounds like a very positive person.” She pointed out. He nodded as he pulled another sticky note off of the wall, 
“This one’s from BamBam. He tries to do what Yugyeom does, but he tends to forget and instead ends up making Mark hyung angry instead.” He snorted as he handed the other sticky note to her. 
“How many members are there in your group? I don’t think I’ve met all of them yet. I’ve only met Jinyoung-ssi, Youngjae-ssi and Mark-ssi.” She questioned as she read the sticky note. 
“Seven. It’s me, Mark hyung, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom.” He replied with his back turned to her as he read the sticky notes. “We’re like a whole family. They’re my brothers.” He turned to her with a smile on his face. 
(Y/n)’s felt her heart melt as she watched Jaebeom turn back to his table to look through his stuff. She could feel the genuine love he had for his friends when he found a polaroid picture of them sitting under his mess of papers, a soft chuckle leaving his lips as he turned around and sat beside her, 
“We took this on my birthday.” He held the picture up, allowing her to look at it, “Mark hyung planned a surprise party for me and they threw me into the pool at the house we were staying at while we were shooting a reality show.” He laughed as he recalled the memory. 
“You guys seem really close knit, huh?” She questioned as she looked at the picture. Jaebeom was obviously soaking but he was still wearing the biggest smile on his face as he stood with his six friends. 
“They mean a lot to me. I don’t know what I would do without them.” He hummed out as he leaned back on his arms when she took the picture between her thumb and her index fingers. “Yugyeom and I are the only ones who haven’t met our soulmates yet.” He sighed. (Y/n) felt her body tense up. His soulmate. She had completely forgotten he had a soulmate. His own soulmate. 
(Y/n) turned around to Jaebeom, about to say something but his attention was towards Cake. She looked at his red string, watching the way it was floating ever so gently. She bit her lip and made her decision. He deserves to see colour. 
“Jaebeom-ah,” She called to him to get him to turn to her, “I’m going to head home first.” She spoke as she stood up. Jaebeom frowned slightly as he sat up straighter, 
“Already?” He questioned as he took her hands to stop her from moving away. She nodded, 
“I’m a bit tired. Coco has a lot of energy.” She smiled softly, swaying his hands gently. 
“I’ll walk you out.” Jaebeom nods, hiding his slight disappointment at her departure as he stood up and walked her to his front door. “Text me when you get back.” He joked and opened the door. 
(Y/n) let out a laugh as she nodded, “Okay, I will.” She leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek, “Goodnight, Jaebeomie.” She smiled. 
“Goodnight, (Y/n)-ie.” He bit his lip, smiling back as he watched her head into her apartment. He closed the door once she had stepped in but didn’t realise that she had stepped back out.
She stared at the faint red string that was floating out of his apartment and leading into hers with a dropped heart. 
“(Y/n)?” Haneul’s voice only added to her despair as her confused roommate stepped out with her. “Why are you just standing out here?” She questioned. (Y/n)’s eyes followed the red string that was attached to Haneul’s chest and she slowly looked up to meet her eyes. She let out a shaky breath as the pieces were being laid out in her head.

(Y/n) laid in her bed, staring at the ceiling with her legs dangling off the edge. Her phone buzzed for the tenth time that morning and she knew who it was from. She just couldn’t bring herself to talk to him, but when the door knocked a few times, she finally checked the messages.
JayBeee (ᵔᴥᵔ):
Are you okay? 
JayBeee (ᵔᴥᵔ):
I’m bringing over pastries and chocolate
JayBeee (ᵔᴥᵔ):
I left them outside, they’re hanging from the doorknob. I hope you feel better soon <3
(Y/n) let out a sigh as she sat up from her bed. Haneul left earlier that morning to get to work which meant no one was home. Unfortunately for (Y/n), her schedule was free for the next few days which left her free for a while. Jaebeom knew that, too. 
She trudged over to the door with a heavy heart. How could she keep Jaebeom away from his soulmate? But how could she just let him slip past her fingers? She opened the door slowly, making sure he wasn’t outside before taking the paper bag that was hanging from the doorknob into the apartment and closing the door. 
Was it too cruel for (Y/n) to not let them meet? How could she have been so stupid in ignoring his string and letting herself fall for him. But more importantly, how could she have not seen the string whenever they were in the hallway? 
Since they’re strings were still red, it was obvious that they still had yet to meet each other. But what was (Y/n) going to do when they would? She couldn’t run away like she did with Chan. She couldn’t leave him as easily since she knew that she had already fallen off that dangerous edge. She was in love. So goddamn hopelessly in love with Im Jaebeom. All because she decided to ignore the strings. 
(Y/n) looked down at her chest and at her string as she stood in her kitchen. The black string that was hanging dead instead of floating. The string that had looked as though it had been ripped at a foot’s length. 
She hated it. 
It was a bitter reminder that she would never experience the bliss of being with her soulmate. She wanted to rip it out of her chest but she couldn’t even touch it. 
The world was cruel and Jaebeom was a reminder to (Y/n) that it was. 
(Y/n) munched on the chocolate croissant that Jaebeom had left outside her apartment. Her mind was filled to the brim as she contemplated her choices. 
She could let them meet and let them be happy.
She tries her best to make sure they never meet so she can be with Jaebeom. 
Both options were painful to her. She knew she would forever be wracked with guilt if she would never let Jaebeom meet his soulmate. She had to make a decision and time was running out.

The 7th Prince: Plot Summary
Hello, all. As I have previously stated on this blog, I no longer have the intention of writing this particular story (The 7th Prince) any longer. With that said, I do feel bad leaving the story unfinished and would like to my readers know how it ends. If you would like, feel free to read the remaining plot summary of The 7th Prince!
A/N: To clarify, this is NOT permission to take my story and write it as your own. This summary is merely a courtesy to my readers to let them know how the story ends. I am absolutely not giving permission for my work to be finished with another writer at the helm. 
Chapter 14: Fearing that Mark is hurt, or dead, Y/N rides to find Youngjae. Youngjae is on his way back to Quattor with Jaebum. Knowing Youngjae has powers of healing, Y/N convinces him to come with to Septum. On the way, Youngjae gathers his mentor. The group of them find Mark in Septum, on the edge of the forest. He is injured but when Youngjae reaches for his chest to try and heal him, Y/N snatches his hand back quickly. Mark still has his curse, even asleep. Youngjae cannot touch him. When Y/N tries to explain, Jaebum grasps Youngjae’s hand and touches Mark’s chest. He insists Youngjae will be able to do it and, to their surprise, Youngjae can. Mark is healed. They move Mark to stay with Youngjae’s mentor in Quattor.
Chapter 15: Y/N is in Senary’s palace the next day when Jackson arrives. She tells him she is sorry, but her heart belongs to another. She cannot marry him. Jackson is saddened by this, but says he understands. He said he kind of figured there was someone else and asks if it’s Jinyoung. Y/N assures him it is not. Later that day, Y/N goes to visit Mark in Quattor. It is still uncertain what, exactly, happened with Mark/Jaebum/Youngjae and their powers. Jaebum refuses to come back and test his strength further. Y/N tells him that power by itself is neither light, nor dark. It is whatever he chooses to do with his magic that decides his fate.
Chapter 16: One week has passed and Y/N attends the political Counsel meeting. There are two more weeks until her marriage deadline. During the meeting, Y/N learns that the witch is on the move. For the first time in decades, she has left her hiding place in the mountains and advances upon Morsus. There are rumors that it is because of her attack on Septum. Something happened that night which scared her. There are rumors that the explosion in the tower occurred towards the witch’s forces. It did not come from them.
Chapter 17: Realizing what this means, Y/N rushes to Mark. His powers are not merely passive, they are not a curse which mean he cannot be touched. He can project out. He can fight against the witch, who seems terrified of his powers. On her way, she runs into Jinyoung. Since their meeting after Bambam’s ball, Jinyoung has been researching their mysterious powers. He thinks that the powers of the six (really, seven) princes has something to do with the witch. He thinks she accidentally threw things off when she bequeathed such a powerful curse.  Y/N convinces Jinyoung to come with her. She will need him, she argues, as the most powerful strategist in Morsus.
Chapter 18: Jinyoung and Mark meet. Mark is in the middle of a lesson with Youngjae’s mentor, who is explaining how the current system of magic repression is harmful. It curdles inside people then, leading to potentially violent outbursts which cannot be controlled. Jinyoung explains his theory to them all and Youngjae’s mentor admits it is possible. Magic is tied to all threads of the universe. By tangling some, the witch may have inadvertently changed others and given the Princes magic. Mark agrees to show himself to the Counsel. 
Chapter 19: All seven of the Princes meet for the first time. They slowly realize that each of them has a power; or, that most of them are starting to manifest a power. Mark, Destruction. Jinyoung, Prophecy. Youngjae, Healing. Jaebum, Will. The others have yet to reveal themselves but Jinyoung says that the powers seem almost familiar to him, as though he has read them before. The group of them speak to the Council, explaining that they need to stop being so obstinate and fight magic with magic. There is general shock at Mark’s appearance, coupled with fury at Septum for hiding him for so long. At the end of the meeting, the Kings and Queens of Morsus realize they have no other recourse. The witch marches on Morsus and if they do not try something different, they will all die.
Chapter 20: Later that night, Y/N speaks off to speak with Mark. She knows the day must have been difficult for him. Mark and her speak of general destiny, of how terrified they are for the next day. Y/N tells him she is supposed to choose her husband in a matter of weeks. Mark confesses how much he wishes it could be him. Y/N asks why not. He mentions his curse again, how he cannot touch her as he wishes, how he cannot give her what she wants. Y/N says that he can. Through the veil at her bed, he kisses her.
Chapter 21: The next day, the witch arrives and the battle begins. All armies of all seven Kingdoms march into battle. The witch has spent a long time gathering her forces and from the start, the fight does not go according to plan. She has spellcasters on her side, ones tossed out by Morsus and Morsus is unprepared to counter their power. The few bright spots are the Princes. Jaebum is able to simply Will his troops to win the most precarious of fights. Jinyoung can see flashes of the witch’s formations before they happen and Mark is a force unto himself, channeling his lessons with Youngjae’s mentor to cut a path of destruction through the field. Eventually, the witch and Mark meet face to face. They fight and Mark holds his own, but the witch is stronger. He eventually is cornered, pinned down and somehow, Mark’s mother (Septum’s Queen) breaks through. She fights back the witch and nearly is killed herself. That is when Mark’s father (Septum’s King) breaks through and kills the witch. They have a moment as she dies. 
Chapter 22: Once the witch is dead, some of her magic starts to break. Many of the magic-casters who left Morsus disillusioned realize they were stirred into a frenzy by the witch’s powers. They slowly come back to Morsus, re-welcomed into society. Months later, you are on your way to another Counsel meeting. The demand that you choose a husband has been lifted, seeing as the Queen of Quinque is again pregnant and according to Jinyoung’s premonitions, will be a girl. The curse is over. As you approach the Counsel room, Mark grabs you by the waist. He pulls you into a corner and, without gloves or veils, kisses you gently. Now that Morsus has regained it’s magic casters, he has been able to work to control his powers. When he pulls back, he smiles and, hand in hand, you re-enter the Counsel.

Mark didn’t know that you and Jackson used to date a few years back. You couldn’t seem to find the right moment to tell him, and when he brought you to meet the rest of the members, it was suddenly too late.
Mark had introduced you to each boy individually, all while smiling widely (something the boys subtly teased him about). However, when he brought you to meet Jackson and a deeply uncomfortable silence descended, Mark got a little confused. He asked if you two knew each other and after a long moment of silence, you managed to finally confess that you and Jackson dated for a few months a long time ago.
Mark was deeply shocked as he unconsciously wrapped his arm around your waist tighter. You took his silence as a bad sign and began to shower him with explanations that you moved on, that this didn’t mean anything, etc.
“Seriously, man,” Jackson joined in. “It was a really long time ago and it didn’t work out. I’m actually very happy you two met each other.”
“Okay, good. We’re leaving though. Us. Me and Y/n. Because we’re together. And in love,” Mark kept talking, not understanding where this sudden insecurity came from.
Eventually, though, he realized that he had nothing to be insecure about. Although he wasn’t particularly fond of the times when you were talking to Jackson, he realized that he was always a little jealous when your attention was focused on someone other than him, so he didn’t let his jealousy affect his friendship with Jackson or his relationship with you.
JB

You and Jinyoung have low-key dated, but you broke up before he properly told anyone about you. So, the rest of the members only know that Jinyoung was in a relationship that didn’t work out, but they never actually knew who he dated and since it was a sensitive topic, they didn’t bother asking too much.
So, months later, JB brings all of them together to tell them that he fell in love with the most incredible girl ever. Obviously, they all pat him on the back and praise him (all while JB smiles like the biggest dork), but then they settle down and ask him to show them a picture of you. Quickly scrolling through a folder on his phone, titled with too many heart emojis to count, he chooses a picture where the two of you are cuddling on the couch at your house. It was one of his favorite pictures because he had his head on your shoulder with his eyes closed, while you smiled widely into the camera.
All of the boys begin to congratulate JB, but Jinyoung stays quiet and asks to look at the picture again. JB, not suspecting anything, gives him the phone and watches as he zooms in on the picture, and his breath gets visibly caught in his throat.
“What?” JB asks, feeling anxiety but not yet knowing why.
Jinyoung gets really awkward and doesn’t know how to explain it until he just blurts that you were the girl he dated all of this time ago.
The boys all suddenly quiet down and look at JB, waiting for his reaction.
JB clenches his jaw, contemplating this news. He doesn’t say anything, just nods and allows Jackson to change the topic.
JB was jealous, though. Very jealous. And although most of the time, he kept his emotions in check, whenever it came to you, he seemed to lose it. Which is why, whenever you were with him and the boys, he would half-jokingly shoot Jinyoung death glares, although the poor boy wasn’t even looking at you.
JB wasn’t actually hateful towards Jinyoung when you weren’t there and the two of them were just as friendly as ever. However, JB’s protectiveness always switched on when he was with you because he wanted to keep you to himself and was never going to share.
Jackson

When you and Jackson began to go out officially, you told him about your ex Youngjae right away. You were afraid of Jackson’s reaction but you also wanted to just get this out of the way.
Jackson looked deep in thought after you told him. Both of you shared a quiet moment until he finally spoke.
“I’m going to block him on your Facebook.”
“I don’t even have him—”
“And then I’m going to block him on my Facebook.”
“Jackson—”
“And then I’m going to block his phone number.”
“J—”
“And then I’m going to block him in real life.”
Your eyes widened at this last part as you slapped his arm to get his attention.
“Jackson! Are you serious?!” you asked once he looked at you and finally allowed you to finish a sentence.
His features softened at the sight of your distressed face and without saying anything, he leaned in to quickly kiss you on the cheek.
“I’m just kidding,” he said, pulling away slightly. “But I’ll actually block him if he—”
“Jackson!”
“Okay, I’m sorry,” Jackson raised his hands in defense. “I just love you too much to think about any other guy being with you.”
Jinyoung

Jinyoung really wanted you to come to their show, so he could finally introduce you to the rest of the members, but you kept refusing his offer, mainly because you still haven’t told him that you used to date Mark back in the day, and you were afraid it’d be awkward.
What you failed to realize, however, was the fact that Jinyoung started to think you didn’t feel the same about him and that this was why you didn’t want to meet the rest of his members. This insecurity forced him to distance himself from you.
And, ironically, Mark was the first person to notice that something was wrong with Jinyoung’s relationship.
“Trouble in paradise?” Mark asked him, jokingly.
Jinyoung just ignored this but the sad expression on his face allowed Mark to realize that something was definitely wrong, and he proceeded to encourage Jinyoung to open up.
And Jinyoung did. He told Mark about the girl that he’s falling for, and how scared he was that she didn’t feel the same way, especially since she didn’t want to meet his best friends.
Mark listened to this patiently and then took Jinyoung’s phone without asking. He was going to fix this. Quickly, he found the last text message on Jinyoung’s phone and called the number without reading the name of the person he was calling.
“Jinyoung?” you picked up on the first ring. “Are you okay? Why are you not replying to my texts?”
Although it’s been quite long, Mark still recognized your voice. In a moment of panic, he hung up the phone and turned to look at Jinyoung with wide eyes.
“What’s wrong?” Jinyoung jumped up from his seat. “Did she say something?”
“No,” Mark looked at the phone in his hand in disbelief. “But, um, I might know the reason why she doesn’t want to meet us.”
Jinyoung frowned but patiently waited until Mark gathered himself together and explained everything.
Jinyoung listened quietly and seemed to actually relax. The fact that Mark was your ex didn’t seem like a big deal, in comparison to the fear he felt when he thought you didn’t love him back.
He called you right away, the regret, caused by the days he spent giving you the cold shoulder, evident in his voice.
“Y/n, I know about you and Mark,” he spilled quickly, not giving you a chance to react. “And it doesn’t matter to me. I… I just want you to meet the guys. I want them to know how special you are to me.”
Youngjae

You and JB broke up on good terms. The two of you knew that the expiration date of your relationship has arrived, so you stayed friends even after the break-up.
Youngjae, who always had a low-key crush on you, knew about the fact that you broke up and he actually talked to JB before making a move on you. JB was fine with it, and momentarily taking the role of your older brother, told Youngjae to take care of you.
However, as your and Youngjae’s relationship progressed, Youngjae found himself worrying about your and JB’s friendship more and more. Especially since he read all of those theories about how two people who once dated couldn’t stay friends unless they still had feelings for each other.
One night, he accidentally blurted this worry out to you.
“Sit down, Youngjae,” you told him. “I’m about to give you a quick lecture.”
Surprised, Youngjae obeyed and sat down on the kitchen chair that he was previously standing next to.
“There is absolutely no way I could possibly still have feelings for JB,” you told him. “Because, sadly, the entirety of my heart belongs to you.”
A smile spread on Youngjae’s face at the speed of light. He needed to hear you say that. It eased his worries and calmed him down right away.
And although there’d be many more times when his jealousy would surface and cause him to become insecure about your relationship again, you were always there to remind him that he had nothing to worry about because he was the only one you loved.
BamBam

BamBam found out that you used to date Yugyeom by accident. He was stalking your Facebook profile (despite being in a relationship with you, the boy still loved to stare at your pictures) and he scrolled down enough to see a cryptic message that you posted on your wall with a sad emoji. He clicked on the comments, hoping for some kind of an explanation. A comment from your friend read, “don’t worry, Y/n, you’ll find your one and only soon!”.
BamBam realized you must have posted this after a break-up and he suddenly got very curious about this relationship you had. You haven’t explicitly talked about your past relationships, so his curiosity was natural.
He nearly got a heart attack when he found the single picture of you and your ex-boyfriend. There you were, his girlfriend, smiling next to Yugyeom, one of his best friends, while he kissed your cheek. All the comments on the picture read how cute the two of you were and BamBam closed the app before he put himself into any more pain.
Panicking about this, he called your number right away. Once you answered, however, he didn’t know how to bring the topic up.
“I found a picture,” he tried. “On your Facebook.”
That was enough for you to understand what he was getting at, considering you dreaded the inevitable conversation you’d have to have with him about you and Yugyeom.
“It was really long ago,” you decided to say, trying to control your voice.
“I don’t care about that,” BamBam said. “I just… why didn’t you tell me?”
“I don’t know,” you said, honestly. “I think I was afraid of your reaction.”
“My reaction? But it doesn’t matter to me that you dated him, as long as you’re mine,” BamBam said. “You… you are mine, right?”
“Of course,” you answered right away.
“Then that’s all that matters to me.”

Yugyeom only found out that you used to date BamBam because your mother accidentally told him. The two of you were having dinner with your parents for the first time, and your mum, thinking Yugyeom already knew, accidentally mentioned BamBam, forcing Yugyeom to glance at you questionably. He didn’t ask you outright and just played along while you glared at your mum, letting her know that she just got you in trouble.
Once the dinner was over and the two of you retreated to your room, Yugyeom couldn’t hold it in anymore.
“So… how do you know BamBam again?” he asked awkwardly.
“Oh,” you said sadly because you had naively hoped he wouldn’t bring this topic up. “We kind of dated for a short time about a year ago.”
“Hm,” Yugyeom hummed. “Does he know we’re together now?”
“I don’t know,” you shrugged your shoulders. “I haven’t talked to him since the break-up.”
“Good,” Yugyeom said and then realized. “Not that I don’t want you to talk to him… I mean, I’d love it if you didn’t because… um…”
“Does the fact that we dated really bothers you?” you asked, biting your lip nervously.
“No,” he answered and then looked away in thought. “Maybe. I don’t know. Do you love him?”
“Of course not!” you said, a little surprised by this question. “We weren’t together long enough for that to happen.”
“Okay,” Yugyeom nodded. “I guess I’ll have to accept this, then. He’s just an ex.”
“Just an ex,” you confirmed, nodding.
And yet despite telling himself that he’d have to accept this, he was still somewhat uncomfortable whenever he brought you to hang out with the rest of the guys. He got used to it later, though, but never allowed the guys to joke about it.

MARK:
You wouldn’t have to text or call Mark about you getting so much hate on twitter, because you and Mark tweet at each other a lot, he saw it for himself. You tried to not let it bother you, but when you weren’t online for a couple days Mark noticed how it was starting to effect you. When you and the rest of GOT7 would go out to eat, Mark also noticed how you started to order and eat less, he noticed everything. Mark would stand up and ask you to talk with him outside secretly from the rest of the boys. “Eat.” “What” “Don’t what me, I know everything.” “That’s a bit creepy.” You would laugh hoping he would change the subject. “I’m not going to change the subject I know about the hate and how you haven’t been eating because of it, please eat. If not for me for the rest of the boys.

JACKSON:
When you texted Jackson asking him to come over, he would be there within a heart beat. He would walk into your apartment and almost cry seeing you crying and race towards him for a hug. “(Y/n) whats wrong?” “I’m getting so much hate on social media because I’m friends with GOT7, they are saying that I don’t deserve you guys because I’m not perfect.” “What did they say?” You would hesitate before answering him “..I’m fat..” Jackson would get so mad at this because of how much hate he has received and still receiving, so he would know exactly how you felt. Wiping the tears away from his eyes first, he would lift your head up off his shoulder and wipe your tears away. “Don’t listen to them, okay?” “It’s easier said then done, Jackson.” “I know but think of it this way, who’s here hugging me right now when a few other girls would want to be in the exact same position? Who’s the real winner? They’re just jealous.”

JAEBUM:
JB would get so protective of you, when you text him screenshots of all the hate you were receiving in a photo that you had posted with JB. “OMG she’s so fat wtf?!” “GET YOUR HANDS OF MY OPPAAAA!” “Why does she get to be friends with them?’ “Who did she sleep with to get a photo with him? Probs no one looking like that.” He wouldn’t even reply to the photos you had just sent, instead he’d rush straight over to your apartment. When you didn’t answer the door, he would get the spare key from under the door mat. After finding you as a crying mess in your bedroom, he would just sit next to you on the floor and hug you, letting you cry onto him. The whole time he wouldn’t say anything, but instead, try and control his anger and thinking of ways to get them to stop, he cared about you too much.

JINYOUNG:
Jinyoung is never online so he wouldn’t exactly know what it’s like to get hate online, although he’s probably had it before. One night, all the hate you had been getting was too much, you didn’t want to burden anyone but Jinyoung came to check If you were sleeping and walked in on you crying. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing don’t worry..” “I’m not stupid (y/n), tell me.” “Well, I’ve been getting a lot of hate online and in person because of my weight..” You went on to tell him all of the thoughts in your head and he didn’t judge you, but instead, just sat there and let you cry and let everything out. Every now and then, you would get a nod or a ‘yeah’ but he didn’t really have anything to say. He eventually talked, calming you down and explaining how they’re nothing and shouldn’t effect you, and that if they ever bother you again, they’re going to have to go through him.

YOUNGJAE:
Because Youngjae was your best friend, he would always take photos with you and post them everywhere, because he was happy that you were his best friend. One day, you checked the comments of a video that you and Youngjae had filmed, dancing to one of GOT7’s songs. You saw all the hate like ‘how could you dance with their husband?’ They tried to drag you down about how you looked, your weight, your hair, your everything. Youngjae would notice that you weren’t as happy or excited to do things with him anymore, so he thought that he had done something wrong. One night, he confronted you about it while you were eating dinner at his house with him and his brother. You explained that it was everyone else and not him, and that you felt bad that you made him think that he had done something wrong. “I’m sorry it wasn’t you Youngjae, it’s everyone else they keep hating me no matter what I do.” “So don’t listen to them okay? You’re my best friend and I don’t want them taking you away from me.” “Youngjae, they could never take me away from you.” “I’ll post a photo telling everyone to calm down okay.” He would smile and get up to give you a hug before continuing to eat.

BAMBAM:
Bambam’s basically online 24/7, so he would always have you on his story etc. He would always see all the hate before you did. He tried to delete it all but you saw some before he had deleted it. You messaged Bam and told him not to worry about deleting all the comments, he asked why because in his mind he was just trying to protect you. “I saw the one about how fat I am. I know I am so they’re just telling me what I know.” “You aren’t (y/n) don’t listen to them!” “Bam, I’m best friends with you no matter what I do I’m going to get hate, don’t worry lets just enjoy being friends and forget about them.” “But what if they hurt you.” “Bam it will always hurt me, I just have to choose to be happy with you instead of dwelling over their pathetic peoples opinions.” Bam wouldn’t say anything but instead go to your house to give you a hug, he wouldn’t be crying but you could see the red stains left on his check form earlier.

YUGYEOM:
Yugyeom would be so clueless to you receiving hate. He would only notice when you wouldn’t spend too much time online anymore or even want to pose in photos with him or the boys. He would be confused and end up going to JB for help, but JB, the grandpa knows nothing about the online world, Yugyeom would give up on JB and end up going to Bambam for help. Bam would tell Yugyeom to delete all the comments but it wouldn’t work forever, Bam suggested talking to you about it which he decided to do. “Are you okay?” Yugyeom swung his head around the corner. “Yeah why?” “I’ve sent the comments on our photos its not nice, I’ve delete them, and I will keep doing it, you don’t deserve that.” You wouldn’t even respond before breaking out into tears. Yugyeom would race over hugging you and letting you cry on him, he didn’t care if he got snot over his new shirt. “They’re so mean you don’t deserve this (Y/N)…” he would look so angry and be on the verge of tears.

Bambam was having none of it.
“Dude. We are going to this club tonight whether you like it or not. Do you know how hard it was to get us in? We’re lucky Mingyu has mad connections with our alumni, or we wouldn’t be getting our pinky toes into the place,” he ranted excitedly.  
Yugyeom was silent, flinching away when Bambam reached out to touch his shoulder. He covered his eyes with his forearm, throwing it over his face as he leaned back on the sofa. “I don’t want to go. I’m tired. Why can’t you go without me? Everyone else is going.”
“Exactly. Everyone is going so why can’t you come?” Bambam demanded.
“Jesus Christ, can you leave me alone?”
Bambam raised an eyebrow as he followed Yugyeom’s figure get up from the sofa and stalk into the kitchen. He’d been acting weird since he came back from his workout with Jungkook earlier that evening. Something was definitely wrong. Had Yugyeom and Jungkook fought? He scoffed to himself silently. Yugyeom was a fluffball incapable of fighting with anyone. Jungkook wasn’t the confrontational type either, he would bottle his feelings up inside. There was no way these two guys would ever have a fight. So what was bothering Yugyeom so much, then?
“Yah!” Bambam called after him into the kitchen. “I called Lisa earlier and Mirae might come too!” he prodded. It was a lie. He had no idea if Mirae would come but he wanted to see if that could convince Yugyeom.
Yugyeom made no response.
Bambam followed him into the kitchen, hoisting himself up onto the counter and watching as Yugyeom rummaged through the fridge with a tight expression. Bambam sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. Getting Yugyeom to talk about why he was upset was never easy. “Dude. You’re acting weird. What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing,” Yugyeom muttered.
“Nothing?”
He sighed and turned around. He couldn’t hide anything from Bambam; the guy was dense as hell but he knew Yugyeom better he knew himself. Bambam would get it out from him eventually. “Actually, it’s kind of embarrassing. I don’t want to talk about it. So can we drop it?”
No, they couldn’t. “What’s embarrassing?” a few beats later, “Is it about Mirae?”
Yugyeom flinched, and Bambam had his answer.
“What happened?” he demanded. He followed Yugyeom to the dining table where the latter had sat down with a huge packet of potato chips. He took out a handful and stuffed them into his mouth, waiting for a response. Yugyeom didn’t speak. “Whatever it is, you should come out,” Bambam pressed. “If you see her tonight, maybe you can fix it, eh?”
Yugyeom shook his head. “There’s nothing to fix.”
“Ouch. But dude, it was going great. You guys seemed to be getting so close during the football game and she keeps texting you all the time. You liked her so much.”  
“I know,” Yugyeom muttered. He sighed and covered his face with his hands. It was burning red and the few hours that had passed since his last seeing Mirae had allowed it to sink in; just how pathetic his situation was. He clenched his fists. “Fuck, this is so embarrassing. Why didn’t you knock me back to reality sooner?” he demanded of Bambam.
“Knock you back to reality?”
“Yeah. I know I take things hard but seriously, you should have just looked me in the eye and told me I was being an idiot. Why would a girl like Mirae ever go for me? She’s perfect and I’m not the only one who sees that. She has men flocking around her like crazy-“
Bambam frowned. “That’s not true. Even if she does, why does it matter? She seemed interested in you.”
Yugyeom scoffed. “From what angle?”
“Any angle!” Bambam replied heatedly. He had no idea where this was coming from. “Dude, the girl asked you to lend her a jersey when she’s much closer to Jungkook-“
“Jungkook doesn’t let people borrow his clothes.”
“And she keeps flirting around with you, you showed me those texts from the other day. That was not normal friend talk, normal girls don’t flirt around and act cute with male friends asking them to call them pretty and shit, that’s boyfriend-girlfriend talk, okay?” Bambam pointed a finger at Yugyeom. “She was flirting with you, I will put my life on it.”
Yugyeom shook his head. “You don’t get it.”
“Get what?”
“She acts like that with everyone.”
“That can’t possibly be-“
“I thought she was dating Jungkook at first from how close they were,” Yugyeom pointed out. “That turned out not to be true. She told me she didn’t see him that way. Remember Jaehyun? He said a hundred times that he was shocked when she turned him down because she had made him believe she liked him.”
Bambam bit his lip. He couldn’t deny that one. “Well, Jaehyun’s always been kind of conceited-“
“And earlier, she was flirting with Byun Baekhyun and Chen the same way. She calls them oppa and they kid around about what Baekhyun’s charming points are and I felt like such an idiot because how stupid was I to think that she was flirting with me in particular?” he muttered.
“I…” Bambam trailed off. He frowned and sighed. He didn’t know Mirae that well and he had to admit that some of the things Yugyeom said were true. Lee Mirae was popular, known for being bubbly and friendly and playful. Boys liked girls like her. They were easy to talk to and she could make people feel comfortable within moments of meeting her. “Look. I don’t know whether this Mirae chick likes you or not, okay? But you are a catch and you don’t deserve to be this miserable.”
Yugyeom closed his eyes and sighed. “So stupid to let myself fall for her.”
Bambam patted his friend’s shoulder. “Dude. Relax. There are plenty of other girls out there. Come out to the club with us. We’re going to get you laid and you won’t even remember Lee Mirae’s name, okay?”
Before he could say anything, Yugyeom’s phone buzzed on the table. He picked it up and glanced at it. “It’s Mirae,” he mumbled.
“What does she want?”
Mirae: Hey! Is your work-out over?
Yugyeom ran his hand over his face. Should he respond? He had to. He had no concrete reason to suddenly cut off contact with her. What reason would he even give? Hey, so I was falling for you but I realized you’re out of my league so let’s not talk anymore? He sounded like an asshole even to himself.
Yugyeom: Yup.
Mirae: Was Jungkook mad? About you ditching him?
Yugyeom: He’s fine, I apologized.
Mirae: Okay. So are you tired, or do you have the energy to go out tonight? Baekhyun and Chen are going out with some people and they didn’t believe me when I said nobody can do a body roll like you. You should come out with us! Bring Bambam!
Yugyeom: Sorry, kind of exhausted from the gym.
Mirae: Oh, okay. No problem. Take care!
Yugyeom: You too.
Yugyeom sighed and put the phone down on the table. So Mirae was going out with those sunbaes. He felt a sudden burst of jealousy but forced himself to suppress it. Who was he to feel jealous? She had never done anything to expressly say that she liked him, had never gone beyond playful flirting that she did with everyone. Mirae had made him no promises; she was nothing more than a friend despite what he wanted her to be. Don’t become like Jaehyun, he told himself silently.
“Let’s go out,” Yugyeom told Bambam.
Bambam perked up. “Really?”
“Really. I think it’s time I start cutting my losses.”

Jungkook jumped when his bedroom door banged open. He had just laid back in bed and put headphones over his ears, choosing some soothing music to play while he finally got to work on his Economics assignment. The book Hyemi had picked out for him was open on his lap until the loud crashing noise of his door interrupted him.
“Hey,” Bambam greeted lightly.
Jungkook glared at him. “Are you trying to break my door?” he demanded, eyes wide. “What are you even doing here?”
“That good-looking hyung of yours let me in,” Bambam replied with a grin. “Come on, get up and get dressed. You have about ten minutes.”
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. “I am dressed.”
“Dress better, then. We’re going to a club.” At the reluctant look on Jungkook’s face, Bambam sighed and folded his arms across his chest. “Come on. I wouldn’t normally push you for things like this but Yugyeom’s been down all evening and he needs some cheering up. I can’t do it alone.”
Jungkook hesitated. He had noticed that Yugyeom seemed a little distracted during their work-out earlier, but he hadn’t paid much attention. He figured the taller boy was just tired from hitting the gym when he wasn’t used to rigorous work-outs. “What happened to him?” Jungkook wondered.
Bambam cleared his throat. “You know. Girl problems.”
“Girl problems? Mirae?” he asked without thinking.
“So you do know he likes her!” Bambam exclaimed. Yugyeom had made a big deal out of how he couldn’t tell Jungkook anything because he and Mirae were friends and it might be sensitive. He sat down on the edge of the bed and rubbed his hands together. “He told me I couldn’t tell you about it! Dude, what is it with that girl? Does she like him? Or is she just playing around with him? Yugyeom’s heartbroken.”
Jungkook sighed. He should have known this would happen. “Mirae brings drama wherever she goes.”
“Damn. Well, forget her and get dressed. Yugyeom’s waiting in the car.”

The club was loud, dark, and packed with people. Jungkook had to take at least two shots of alcohol before the smell of sweat and people rubbing bodies against each other stopped bothering him. Pleasantly tipsy, he sat comfortably while Bambam pointed out various appealing girls to Yugyeom and Mingyu.
“Dude. That one’s pretty,” Bambam said with a grin. “She’s with another girl too, so that probably means no boyfriend. Come on. Let’s go talk to her. I’ll take care of her friend for you, okay?”
Yugyeom leaned his head back and frowned. He was drunk and the alcohol was making him dizzy. “I can’t,” he mumbled with a groan. The girl was pretty, yes, but Yugyeom couldn’t do things like this. He wasn't as experienced at picking up girls as Bambam was. “I can’t just walk up to a strange girl and hit on her. What if she had STDs, Bam? What if she’s a psychopath? What if she ties me up and steals from me?”
Mingyu winced. “What is wrong with him?”
“He’s in love,” Bambam said comfortingly, patting Yugyeom’s back.
“Love? With who?”
“Lee Mirae.”
Yugyeom’s eyes widened and he placed a finger over his lips, making an exaggerated drunken shush at Bambam and then pointing rather obviously at Jungkook. Jungkook merely raised an eyebrow. “Don’t say it out loud!” Yugyeom scolded. “He doesn’t know! He might feel awkward if he finds out I have feelings for his childhood friend!”
Jungkook sniggered. “Thanks, buddy. Really thoughtful of you.”
“He’s so wasted,” Bambam said dismissively. “Ah, screw it. If he won’t come to meet those girls then I’ll bring the girls over to him. Come on, Jungkook. Let’s put your pretty face to use and get those girls over there to join us.”
“Me?” Jungkook was startled.
Bambam groaned. “Jesus, you’re worse than Yugyeom. Mingyu?”
“Right behind you, master.”
Mingyu and Bambam disappeared to chat up the girls and Jungkook glanced at his drunken friend. Yugyeom was slumped back in his seat with his eyes slightly unfocused. He seemed to be staring at his feet while his head lolled slightly and Jungkook wondered if it was all right to let him drink so much. He patted Yugyeom’s cheek to wake him up.
“Hey. Man, you okay?”
Yugyeom blinked and nodded. “Fine,” he muttered.
Jungkook hesitated before asking. “What happened with Mirae?”
“Nothing,” he mumbled. “Nothing happened. Nothing would ever happen. I’m not her type. Why would she go for a guy like me? But she was so cute and she kept batting her eyelashes and pouting and making me laugh, I thought maybe I had a chance.”
Jungkook sighed and ran his hand over his face. He had known from the start that Yugyeom and Mirae were no good for each other. Yugyeom was too sensitive and sweet, while Mirae was used to having guys all over her. Jungkook should have put a stop to this mess sooner. Feeling bad for his miserable friend, he patter him on the back lightly. “Relax, man. Don’t worry. Girls like Mirae are easy to get over. A couple of shots does it.”
Yugyeom suddenly blinked at him. “I’m sorry I ignored you for her.”
“What?”
“During the football game, right? And a couple of times later, too. I was so absorbed with the thought that Mirae might like me back that I became selfish and ignored you. I didn’t realize until Mirae pointed it out that we’d left you alone.” He turned and gave Jungkook a small smile. “You’re a great friend, man. I feel like an idiot.”
“It’s not a big deal, Yugyeom,” Jungkook muttered.
Yugyeom nodded and slumped further into his seat, closing his eyes. “What do you think she’s doing right now? Do you think she’s off partying with Baekhyun and Chen and whoever else she hangs out with? She must be hanging around with those guys, right?”
“I don’t know.”
“I want to go home.”
Bambam and Mingyu came back a few moments later, without either of the girls they had left to hit on. Bambam’s eyes were wide and he patted Jungkook’s shoulder urgently. “Dude, we should get out of here. Fuck- Yugyeom’s wasted. Do you think he can walk?”
Jungkook blinked. “What happened to those girls?”
“Screw the girls. Mirae’s here.”
“Mirae?”
“Yeah. Over there. See that big group of people?” Bambam pointed to a significantly large group of people dancing a little distance away. Jungkook spotted Mirae immediately. She was laughing and dancing with a bunch of people, none of whom Jungkook recognized. Then again, Mirae had a lot of friends. “We should go before she sees us. Yugyeom looks seriously pathetic right now and he’ll be miserable if she sees him like this.”
Yugyeom’s eyes opened, confused. “What? Who sees me?”
Mingyu shook his head. “No-one, buddy. Come on, we’re going home, okay?”
“Yes, let’s go home.”
“Okay. Come on. Fuck- why is he so heavy? Dude, if you’re going to get shit-faced and make us carry you out then do us a favor and don’t put on any more muscle,” Mingyu groaned as he supported Yugyeom’s weight using his shoulders. “We should get out of here before- uh-oh.”
Mirae had seen them. Her eyes brightened and she waved at them eagerly. Before any of them could respond, she had already started making her way over to them. She seemed surprisingly sober as she called out. “Hey guys! I didn’t expect to see you guys here! What a surprise!” she chirped happily as she reached them. It was too late to pretend they hadn’t seen her.
Jungkook sighed. “Hey, Mirae.”
Mirae laughed at him. “Never thought I’d see you in a place like this, Jeon Jungkook.”
Jungkook bristled. “Yeah, well. We were just leaving.”
“Already?” Mirae demanded. “You guys should come join us! Baekhyun-oppa knows the owner so drinks are on the house. Come on. You can stay for a little longer!” she pressed before turning to wink at Bambam and Mingyu. “I have it on good authority that Taeyeon-unnie has a thing for younger guys and she’s looking to score tonight.”
Mingyu weakened. “Kim Taeyeon?”
“There’s only one.”
Mingyu turned and gave Bambam a pleading look. “Couple of drinks with them, please?”
“Yah! You’re our designated driver, what are we supposed to do if you get drunk and go home with a pretty sunbae?” Jungkook whined. He and Bambam were too drunk to drive and Yugyeom was wasted based on how he was leaning his entire weight on Bambam and staring blankly at Mirae without a word. His eyes were slightly unfocused. “Don’t be an idiot, Mingyu.”
Mirae smiled. “Aww, let him have some fun. I’ll drive you guys back. I’m staying sober tonight. Come on!”
Jungkook resisted the urge to smack his own forehead as Bambam and Mingyu both caved. They all followed Mirae back to her group of friends where she waved and got everyone’s attention. “Hey guys!” she called out cheerfully. “My friends are joining us, is that okay?”
“Such handsome friends are always welcome,” Irene greeted the boys with a wink. She was extremely pretty and both Mingyu and Bambam stared at her with open mouths. She turned and beamed at Mirae. “Friends of Mirae’s are friends of ours. Why don’t you introduce us, Mirae?”
“Yeah. This is Jungkook, Bambam, Mingyu and Yugyeom-“ Mirae explained, pointing at the guys in turn. Everyone greeted them cheerfully, Baekhyun coming over to clap the boys on the back in a friendly manner. Only Kai and Krystal, who were making out passionately in a corner, ignored them. “Guys, this is Irene-unnie, that’s Baekhyun-oppa, Chen-oppa, Chanyeol-oppa, Taeyeon-unnie, Suho-sunbaenim, that’s Sehun over there and Kai-oppa and Krystal-unnie making out in the back-“
Baekhyun laughed at her. “Relax, midget. Nobody’s listening to you.”
Mirae flushed and frowned at him. “I was trying to be polite. And you’re not tall enough to call me a midget, oppa.”
Baekhyun lowered his head to mutter in her ear. “Not in front of these friends of yours, I’m not. Jesus Christ, why are all these dongsaengs taller than me? Don’t you have any shorter guys in your class?”
Jungkook, who was supporting half of Yugyeom’s almost-dead weight, felt his friend stiffen as he watched Baekhyun lean down and whisper into Mirae’s ear, while the girl giggled and hit him playfully. Yugyeom’s expression had darkened significantly and he turned his head away stiffly. “I thought we were leaving,” he said to Jungkook, voice slurred.
Jungkook sighed. “We are. Bambam-Bambam!”
Bambam and Mingyu were too far gone to come back. Mingyu had gone over to join Taeyeon and Victoria, both of whom were complimenting him on how handsome he was as they giggled over him. Chanyeol had dared Bambam to chug an entire glass of beer in one shot and he was currently fulfilling that dare. Jungkook groaned to himself as Yugyeom slumped against his shoulder harder. His arm was starting to hurt from carrying the boy heavier than him.
“Wow, how drunk is Yugyeom?” Mirae wondered, once Baekhyun had turned his attention elsewhere. She gestured for one of the others to scoot over on the sofa and make space. “Here- put him down here, you can’t possibly carry him for that long.”
Jungkook nodded and heaved a sigh of relief as he let Yugyeom slump into a sitting position on the corner of the sofa. Mirae smiled, waving a hand in front of Yugyeom's face to get his attention. “Are you okay, Yugyeom?” she cooed. “You’re not too drunk, right? Are you going to be sick?”
Yugyeom shook his head and lifted his hand in a clumsy thumbs up. “F-fine.”
Mirae giggled. “He’s really cute drunk, isn’t he?”
Jungkook rolled his eyes and folded his arms across his chest. He waited irritably while Mirae fussed over Yugyeom, pushing his hair out of his face and gently asking him if there was anything he wanted. Yugyeom was shaking his head and smiling at her goofily. Mirae giggled and patted his cheek, but Yugyeom reached up and grabbed her hand, smushing it clumsily against his own cheek.
“Is this really necessary?” Jungkook wondered. “We were just about to leave, Mirae.”
Mirae made a face at Jungkook, although her hand stayed pressed against Yugyeom’s cheek at his insistence. He was rubbing his face against it sleepily and Mirae was blushing. “Stop being such a spoilsport,” she scolded Jungkook. “Everyone else is having fun, okay? Can you let go for once? Come on, I’ll get you a drink or two and before you know it, you’ll be dance battling with Kai-“
Jungkook ran a hand over his face. “Yugyeom is shit-faced,” he pointed out, referring to the guy who had closed his eyes and was nuzzling into Mirae’s hand like a cat. He was even making weird purring noises. “I’m going to take him home, so-“
“He’s fine and you can’t possibly carry him back by yourself anyway. Let him stay here. Have a few drinks, and we’ll get Yugyeom sobered up a little. Then I’ll drive you guys home myself.” She gently extracted her hand from Yugyeom’s grasp and turned to Jungkook fully. “Come on. I’ll get you a drink, they serve girls faster. And we’ll get Yugyeom a glass of water while we’re at it.”
Yugyeom whined slightly. “No,” he muttered, reaching for Mirae’s hand again.
Mirae smiled and patted the top of his head. “We’re going to get you some water so you can sober up, okay, Yugyeom? We’ll be right back. You have to stay here. Don’t go anywhere.”
Yugyeom nodded miserably.
“You promise you’ll sit tight?” she pressed slowly, making sure he understood what she was saying.
“I’ll sit tight,” he repeated.
Mirae grinned before gesturing for Jungkook to follow her across the dance floor, and over to the bar. It was crowded, definitely, but the short girl easily weaved her way up to the front and managed to get the bartender’s attention with a cute smile. She got Jungkook a double shot of vodka and handed it back to him. She also acquired a tall plastic cup of ice water for Yugyeom and grinned at Jungkook.
“Yah. Sometimes I wonder if you like being miserable,” she teased him, referring to the frown on his face. She gave him a slight nudge. “Cheer up, would you? I know something that would make you happy.”
Jungkook scoffed. “I highly doubt it.”
“You want to bet? It’s about your darling Hyemi,” she sang cheerfully.
Jungkook couldn’t help it; the name made his cheeks flush. He kept constantly thinking about the encounter at the coffee shop earlier and he cursing himself for it. By letting Mirae get to him, he’d ended up behaving really rudely with Hyemi. Would she ever even bother with him again? Unable to handle the curiosity, he squared his shoulders and looked down at Mirae’s shit-eating grin.
“What about her?” he muttered.
“She texted me earlier this evening. It took a little bit of prodding, but she said that she thought you were cute!” she squealed.
Jungkook’s eyes widened. “She said that? Those exact words?”
“Well, no. She said both you and Yugyeom were cute. But I told her straight out that Yugyeom was mine and then she asked me if you were single. Listen. This is a big thing, okay? A girl doesn’t care about whether a guy is single or not unless she’s interested in him. Trust me. She wouldn’t have asked otherwise.”
Jungkook took a gulp of the vodka. “What did you say?”
Mirae raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Suddenly you’re interested? What happened to if I need help, I’ll ask for it, Mirae, I don’t need a girlfriend,” she mimicked him in a deeper voice that sounded surprisingly like him. Jungkook glared at her and Mirae laughed happily. “Okay, relax. I told her you were single without making you sound like a complete loser. Do me a favor and don’t let her find out you’re a complete virgin until after she’s agreed to date you, okay?”
Jungkook flushed. “Not a virgin-“
“Whatever helps you sleep at night, buddy,” she teased lightly before turning around. She started making her way back through the crowded dance floor and Jungkook followed her, wincing when a couple of drunken dancers bumped into him clumsily. He took a deep, relieved breath once they had broken through the crowd.
Until a glass full of freezing cold water splashed onto his legs and seeped into his pants. Fuck. Jungkook glared at Mirae, who had dropped the glass of ice water. He turned to scold her for being so clumsy, but stopped short when he saw the expression on her face. Her eyes were wide and it took Jungkook less than a few seconds to ascertain what the cause of her horror was.
Irene was currently straddling Yugyeom’s lap and sucking his face off.
They were kissing in a rather vulgar manner, her hips grinding against his while her hands fisted his shirt at the collar. She was kissing Yugyeom so aggressively that Jungkook couldn’t even tell if his friend was responding, although he was making no effort to push her away. Yugyeom’s hands were still on Irene’s back.
Mirae suddenly felt sick and she whirled around to face the other direction. Her hands were trembling slightly and her head was spinning. She did not just witness that. She couldn’t have. She’d seen wrong, it wasn’t Yugyeom. It was probably somebody else under Irene-
“He’s drunk,” Jungkook muttered. He noticed the horrified expression on Mirae’s face and suddenly felt the need to comfort her. “You saw him, he’s shit-faced. He doesn’t know what he’s doing,” he pressed. Mirae wasn’t listening to him, her were eyes tightly squeezed shut and she was shaking her head lightly.
“Dude!” someone yelled out loudly, over the music. It was a male voice and it was laughing. “Suho! Your girlfriend’s all over Mirae’s friend, man! Whew!”
That was when the calm atmosphere suddenly broke. Suho, considerably drunk himself, stood up and stormed over to where Irene and Yugyeom were wrapped around each other. Suho pulled Irene back and pushed her aside. His expression was murderous as he grabbed Yugyeom by the collar and half-lifted the dazed boy up.
“You little fucker-“
Before anyone could react, Suho had thrown a punch across Yugyeom’s face. There was the scraping of chairs as Baekhyun and Chen jumped up to pull Suho away, but he was shaking them off. He was much too drunk and angry to stop.
“Dude-let him go- hyung, stop it-“
Jungkook and Mirae both ran forward as well, Jungkook grabbing a limp Yugyeom from behind and pulling him back to get him out of Suho’s reach. Suho was still seething and there were yells as he lunged forward to hit Yugyeom again. “That little bastard- let me go- Baekhyun, you asshole, let me go!” Suho wrenched his arm out of Baekhyun’s grasp.
Mirae was furious too. She squeezed herself in between Suho and Yugyeom and spread her arms out, preventing Suho from reaching Yugyeom. “Are you insane?” she yelled, her face filled with panic. “Don’t hit him!”
“Mirae, move-“
“I won’t move! Don’t hit him!” Mirae yelled back, her voice high and cracked. She kept her arms spread out to block Suho while Jungkook dragged Yugyeom a safer distance away. “Stop it! Stop it!” she was screaming as she shoved Suho back.
“Get Yugyeom out of here!” Baekhyun yelled out to Jungkook as he and Chen finally managed to get a grip on Suho and push the raging man down onto the couch. Mirae was in tears as she trembled, her head spinning from the adrenaline rush. Mingyu and Bambam had come running over and were grabbing Yugyeom’s arms, getting ready to haul him out of the club.
Mirae’s voice cracked. “I’ll drive you guys back-“ she began, but Jungkook cut her off.
“Are you an idiot? Stay here with your genius friends, nobody cares,” he snapped at her harshly. He helped Mingyu and Bambam push through the crowd hurriedly as they carried Yugyeom out. Mirae felt her heart sink as Yugyeom turned his head and she spotted blood on his lip.
“No, wait-“ she called after them.
Baekhyun had come running up to her, once the other guys had grabbed Suho. He put a hand on Mirae’s shoulder and pulled her back. “Leave it, Mirae, they’ll take care of him,” he reassured her when he saw the tears brimming in her eyes. He sighed and dug in his pocket for his keys. “I’ll drive you home.”

Jungkook’s phone buzzed multiple times through the night.
Mirae:
00: 45: Did you guys get back safe?
00:47: Is Yugyeom okay? Is he injured?
01:05: Jungkook, can you please just give me a response, I’m losing my mind here.
He ran his hands through his hair, grabbing his phone and typing a short response.
Jungkook: He’s fine. He has a busted lip and a potential hang-over, that’s it. Go to sleep.
Mirae: Thank you.
Jungkook: Did you get back okay?
Mirae: Yes. Baekhyun drove me home.
Jungkook: Great.

Roses [Part 2]
NOTE: This is part two of the gangster!Namjoon series. Mostly angst this time around. There will be more parts to come. Until then, enjoy. 
Part 2: Decisions
Summary:
 Plans are initiated, and two members are faced with a dilemma of their own. If you’re given two options and both have their consequences, then which one do you choose?

The night air is cool, with a light fog covering most of the city and it especially fills the docks by the ocean, creating a grey film over everything in sight. Along the docks, there is an abandoned, run down warehouse. No one has looked twice at this building, it was useless to anyone that walked by it, which made it all the more significant to Namjoon and his gang. The inside looks almost similar to the unused aesthetic of the outside, except for stacks of boxes and file cabinets scattered all throughout the main room. Moving past the stacks and piles of boxes, there hides a small room, dimly light with a greenish/gray hue in the back of the warehouse. A rectangular table is placed in the middle of the room, Namjoon and his members all inhabit the chairs surrounding the long dark table. A window is open in the back, letting the cool air flow in, and the sounds of the waves echoing into the otherwise silent room. All of the members are sitting, contemplating and patiently waiting for someone to break the silence. This is the beginning and no one wants to start off saying the wrong thing. But when the silence becomes deafening, frustration and impatience begin to boil into their bloods, and suddenly they open up.
“We can’t just sit back and do nothing!” Jin finally says, having had enough.
“Im Jaebum is just as powerful as you Namjoon. Clearly not as powerful, but he’s almost there. And if we don’t do anything, they’re going to think we’re weak and attack full force next time.” Jungkook chimes in.
Jungkook has a point. Im Jaebum is the leader of the rival gang in this city. It hasn’t always started that way, however. It was the typical scenario, where Jaebum and Namjoon were actually alliances for an extent of time, but of course, things happen and people lose someone important to them, eventually creating a rift. Jaebum refused to fight clean after losing his partner. And because of this, Namjoon cut ties with him, only furiating JB more. So, he sought out to create an empire of his own in the city, showing no mercy to anyone crossing his path.
“We’re not just gonna sit here and let them take over our territory!” Hoseok follows.
“We can’t-” Taehyung begins, but is soon interrupted.
“Would you guys just hear her out,” Yoongi interrupts, “this may actually be a reasonable plan!” he finally blurts out, clear frustration growing in his voice. The rest of the men grow silent at his tone. Yoongi was always the quiet one, the one who sits back, listening to what everyone had to say. He only chimed in after he’s contemplated and reasoned out all the options in his head. But tonight he isn’t playing that game. He is ready for a fight, a successful one. He wants a plan.
Giving Yoongi a grateful smile, you turn and face the rest of the group, the sound of the harsh waves echoing through the opened window of the abandoned warehouse. “I say we wait,” You begin slowly, pausing to let the words sink into everyone’s head. “We lay low and wait until they start to believe that we are not going to fight back anymore. We fall under the radar and wait until they have their guards down. Then we attack with full force.” Another pause, scanning their expressionless faces as they stare back at you. “It won’t be expected, they’ll think that we’re hiding to keep ourselves safe, when in reality, we’re coming up with ways to hit them from all sides so they can’t run away.”
Your eyes are still scanning each member’s face, none of them looking you in the eyes as they sit, taking in your words and weighing the consequences in their own minds. You finish your proposal, “We’ll fight and we’ll win, taking back what’s ours, taking back the city.” Leaning back against the chair with a smirk on your face, arms crossed. You look towards your boyfriend, Namjoon, your partner and leader in the gang. He looks perplexed, his eyes fixated on a water stain on the table in front of him. After a few seconds of thinking it over, he looks at you and gives you a small smile.
“That might work.” Namjoon starts, the smirk on your face growing into a soft smile. “But we-,”
“What?!” Hoseok yells.
“Are you kidding?!” Jimin agrees, leaning back in his chair in a slouch.
“She has no idea what she’s talking about!” Jungkook says, his hand resting on his head.
“We can’t hide fro-” Taehyung starts.
“You all seem to be forgetting my status here. I’m Joon’s partner and you all know that if it wasn’t for me, each and every one of you would be dead right now. Besides, they tried to kidnap me, I should be able to have some sort of a say in what we do about this.”
Namjoon, still sitting back silently, his eyes look up from the water stain and scans the room. “Alright. Let’s take a vote. Since I understand the benefits of both plans, I won’t vote,” Joon says. You look at him in confusion, but you don’t say anything.
“All in favor of waiting it out,” Namjoon starts, and as expected, only you and Yoongi raise your hands. You narrow your eyes at your brother, Taehyung.
“Excuse me, but someone tried to kidnap my baby sister. I’ll be damned if I’m going to wait and give them the chance to try again,” he responds with anger in his eyes.
Understanding where he is coming from, your lips split into a smile before slightly nodding at him. Joon wraps his arm around your shoulders and you lean into his touch. “All in favor of attacking as soon as possible?” He asks.
As expected, Tae and the rest of the members raise their hands.
“Fine, but don’t get upset if you impatient idiots get your asses kicked,” you let out before you and Yoongi get up hastily and walk towards the door.
“Joon, you need to control your girl,” jokes Jimin. They all start laughing, until they suddenly see a knife zooming straight past Jimin’s head and hitting the wall, nearly slicing through his head.
“I heard that,” you sneer.
“You missed!” Jimin yells after the shock subsides.
“Did I though?” you ask, turning to him and the rest of the members, before walking out of the room with Yoongi snickering behind you. As you leave, the rest of them turn around and look at the wall. It is decorated with an extravagant mural that had been there before you all inhabited the warehouse. The paint is chipping but the image was still visible, colors faded but still beautiful. The mural has a group of people dancing, all wearing beautiful clothing, it is most likely a scene from a festival that is always held in the city. They take notice of where the knife landed, exactly in one of the person’s eye. After Jimin’s eyes fall on the knife, he gulps loudly and looks back at the door where you had just exited. The sound of the waves become the only sound in the room yet again.
The next day, you all come together in the warehouse once more for another meeting. This time the meetup is to decide when and how you are all going to be carrying out the attack on the enemy gang that tried to kidnap you. “We need to find the weakest link and go from there,” you declare.
“I thought you said our idea was stupid,” Jungkook scoffs.
“I still find it stupid, but I might as well help so you all don’t get killed,” you retort. You may not have gotten your way, but that does not mean that you’re going to be sitting back and letting these guys make all of the decisions.
“So, who’s the weakest link?” Jimin asks.
“It has to be the youngest ones,” you start, “but not Yugyeom. He’s always being protected by one of Jaebum's own men. Maybe if we take BamBam we’ll get something.”
“What about Jinyoung?” Taehyung questions.
“No. He’s too smart and too careful. He’ll see us coming from a mile away,” you protest.
“You seem to know a lot about them,” Hoseok mutters.
“It’s my job, Hoseok. If I don’t learn about my enemies, I won’t be able to destroy them.”
“So we go after BamBam. But how?” Yoongi asks.
“He likes to frequent a club by the border of the territory. I guess it’s his way of taunting us. We’ll wait until he’s incapable of fighting us off and strike,” Namjoon suggests.
“What about Youngjae? He doesn’t seem very dangerous,” Hoseok asks.
“Don’t underestimate his smile, Hoseok. Just like you, he can charm any woman and convince them to do whatever he wants.” You respond, Hoseok looks at you, a bit of skepticism lingers in his eye. The wonder of how you know so much about them never seems to leave his mind.
“Sounds like you know from experience,” Jin argues.
“Oh please. I’ve never liked charming boys,” you say turning towards Namjoon and running a hand through his hair, “I’ve always been into smart and sexy men.” He winks at you, causing the other members to groan and gag.
“Aish! Where were we?” Yoongi interrupts as you and Namjoon are cuddling next to each other.
“BamBam.” Taehyung replies. “We take him from the club once he’s just about ready to leave, hopefully drunk off his ass and we interrogate him.” He continues.
“Excellent. Now go and get your errands done quick. We’ll meet back here at midnight,” Namjoon demands.
All of the members continue on with their days, finishing the tasks lined up for the day. Jimin and Hoseok decide to break and eat at the usual restaurant where they all gather. As they leave the restaurant, they decide to head back to their home. They both share a house together. Jimin and Hoseok are married and to save up on some extra cash, Hoseok and his wife decided to let Jimin and his wife move in.
Only a few blocks away from the restaurant, they decide to walk back home. They are engaged in a nonchalant chat about how their week has been and how they can’t wait to end the rival gang. Once they reach their house, Jimin opens the door. The two enter into their home and immediately notice that something is off. Giving each other a cautious side eyed glance, they call out to their wives, but no answer. Walking through the house they pull out their phones and call their wives. No answer. Panic starting to settle into their bones, they try to remain calm. Meeting in the kitchen they agree on calling their leader. Just when they are about to call you and Namjoon, they’re hit over the head with a tire iron, both men immediately flinging to the ground.
Jimin and Hoseok finally wake up, observing each other first then taking notice of the dark basement where they both are. Sitting in the middle of the vacant room, tied to their own chair, the only source of light coming from one light bulb swaying in the middle of the room. They both start to accumulate plans on how to free themselves, fidgeting with the ties, testing the strength of them. However, there attempts are cut short by a voice coming from the other end of the dark basement.
“Oh good. You’re awake,” a dark husky voice calls out. Walking into view is a man they’ve never seen before. His stature is tall, almost nearing Namjoon’s height. His dark hair is slicked back, eyes dark and expressionless. 
“Hello. I am Jaebum,” he greets the two restrained men.
“What do you want?” Jimin questions, still trying at the ties around his wrists.
“Your help, of course,” Jaebum answers with a devious smile, leaning in he continues, “you’re going to help me take down Kim Namjoon and that bitch of his.”
“She’s not a bitch! She’s our leader!” Hoseok yells, tugging at the restraints, anger filling every bone in his body.
“Oh!” Jaebum starts, a slight sincere shock in his tone, stepping back, “so she’s in charge? Wow. Never saw that coming,” he snickers.
“No, they’re partners,” Jimin corrects. The room remains dimly lit by the one lightbulb, but appearing to get darker as time passes. Jimin and Hoseok keep eyeing each other, both still trying to plan an escape. Jaebum eyes the men, his gaze leaving them to concentrate on whatever is occupying his mind. Finally, he turns to them.
“Doesn’t really matter,” Jaebum declares, “either way I���m going to destroy them, and you are going to help me.”
“And if we refuse?” Jimin responds.
“Well, I guess I’d have no choice but to kill the women you love,” he replies with a monstrous grin, “I’ll tear them apart piece by piece until you decide to help me.”
“You’re bluffing,” mutters Hoseok.
“Oh, am I? Jackson!” Jaebum calls out. The door hidden in the dark end of the room opens and a man that they can only assume to be Jackson stomps forward. Jaebum and Jackson exchange a few words and Jackson leaves the room. A few minutes later, he and another man bring in two women. They throw them on the ground, and when the light shines on the women Jimin and Hoseok’s hearts sink to the pit of their stomach. Staring back at them are their wives.
“Don’t you hurt her!” Jimin screams.
“They have nothing to do with this!” Hoseok yells.
“They have everything to do with this,” Jaebum assures, “you see, they love you, and you love them. They are your weakness. Therefore, if I hold them hostage, you will do whatever I say to keep them safe and alive.” Jaebum’s voice has reached a new level of confidence. “Don’t worry boys. I’ll have my men take good care of them. We don’t really want to hurt them... just Namjoon.” Silence fills the room, Jimin and Hoseok stare at their wives, sorrow and anger swelling in them. They turn to each other, exchange a coded look.
“Fine,” Hoseok hisses after a minute or two.
“We’ll do whatever you want. Just don’t hurt them,” Jimin says, “and if anything happens to them-”
“If anything happens to them, I’ll gladly kill whoever's responsible myself,” Hoseok interrupts.
Jaebum’s face returns to that devious smile yet again. Snapping his fingers Jackson and the other man, a tall and broad shouldered figure with hair reaching down flat against his forehead, retrieve the women and lead them out the basement. Jimin and Hoseok take one last look at their wives, their minds race a mile a minute. 
So this is how it’s going to be, Hoseok thought to himself.
