(NOT ATSV) my ideal miguel and miles friendship (bordering on enemies) dynamic is where Miles is sort of a Mean Girls figure where he’ll say the worst things to Miguel, who actually has no problems dishing that shit right back out, is usually too fed up or somewhere else mentally to reply. They fight a lot, more physically than verbally, usually in a slapstick comedy type of way. Miles is banned from Nueva York once a month and got a restraining order against Miguel in his own dimension. His parents fucking hate him and Miguel hates them right back. Rio has tried and failed to poison him via food and Jeff is considering hiring a hitman. Gabriel is beloved by them. Miles takes Miguel’s money at least twice a week to go spend it just because he can. Miguel has tried (and succeeded once) to get Miles sick with a future illness because he figured out the lesbian bar Miguel liked to perform at in drag. Miles has cried at least once in every room of Miguel’s apartment and Miguel has been confused on what to do each time besides an awkward hug and pat on the back. People are rightfully worried for Miles’s safety at least 80% of the time but when they aren’t they’re shaking their heads at the two’s antics. They need to be separated until they have a healthy “this is a grown ass man / this is stupid little girl i don’t like at work” relationship and it’ll take an act of god for either of them to realize their current one isn’t healthy at all and has extremely negative impacts on their mental state.

i’m actually so sick of people not thinking critically about race when it comes to fiction. twitter is a shit show but people are right to call you out if you perpetuate racist ideas in your art.

the fact that people can’t seem to understand why drawing a muzzle on MIGUEL looks racist, even after people calmly explain, is BAFFLING.

“it’s because of the fangs” do you not see what it calls back to? that it calls back to an intense history of stereotypes deeming non-white, especially black, brown, and indigenous peoples, as being “savages” and “backwards?”

Just thinking about the people who have the nerve to say Dana didn’t care about Miguel make me sick. 

Dana loved and cared about Miguel so much. Even when Miguel broke off the engagement and they were no longer together, she still kept a photo of them (not Tyler, not Gabe) by her dresser when she went to sleep every night.

Even Miguel has to take a seat because he can’t stop himself from thinking about her.

i am Constantly thinking about the end of season 4... about the fact that by the end of the second all-valley, the main 3 miyagi-fangs (miguel, sam, eli) showing the proof that the merger worked despite daniel and johnny fighting it the entire time. but while sam and eli showed it mainly in the sense of mixing their own fighting styles... miguel having a couple extra scenes in 4x10 hear me out... walking back out from the medic room to the mat. everyone starts losing their shit because they think miguel's gonna fight again. but he walks Right Over to the sidelines, and slots in with the other miyagi-fangs that have already started merging from their separate sides to a sea of red and white. the ref looks at him and he just shakes his head, smiling over at eli and giving him their lil bestie handshake.

miguel choosing to let eli take over because that's what the merger was supposed to be. it wasn't letting one side win over the other, it wasn't swallowing the lesser dojo into the stronger one. it was two separate, smaller dojos, coming Together to take down the stronger one. where he very well would have fought past the pain in s3 and most of s4 (and probs ending up in a situation similar or worse than 2x10) .. him Trusting in eli and in miyagi-do... being part of the proof that the merger worked even though the adults spent the whole time rehashing the same decades-old drama for the fourth time in a year thank you for coming to my ted talk
