Note
what are the stuff that you want to be changed in the Bleach ending
I saw someone answer this in Quora. The user was, more or less, objective in stating what I personally thought was lacking. At the same time, characters like Urahara arenā€™t forgotten. Iā€™ll be quoting the entire answer here because it, more or less, summarizes my thoughts:
ā€œItā€™d be nice if they suddenly have to rewrite the past, and Kubo somehow managed to relate the events of the TYBW to the night Rukia transferred her powers.Ā
You have to go back from the ā€˜startā€™ of Ichigoā€™s journey as a shinigami in order to a) prevent Yhwach or b) have enough power to crush him for once and for all.
Iā€™d imagine Ichigo being conflicted because thatā€™d mean he would lose all the powers he had gained to protect the people he loves, then Rukia (or someone else) will tell him that (to bring back the whole concept of destiny and fate that seem to perpetuate throughout the series), his shinigami powers will always be his.
So the ending of Bleach will be going back in time with Rukia and Ichigo on the very first chapter of Bleach. I donā€™t know how people will perceive it, but it would be a melancholic drawing because itā€™s the first chapter with Kuboā€™s better drawing skills.
(Of course, thatā€™s just a fantasy.)
Hereā€™s some of the things I want to be changed, though.
Scrap the last few chapter. The titles of the last seven are disappointing. Itā€™s as if he completely scrapped his original plan and just went with whatever will piss the hell out of his fans. It didnā€™t make a lot of sense, especially the ā€˜agesā€™ of the characters (e.g. Kazui and Ichika). I know weā€™ve seen Hitsugaya and little Nanao, but it really doesnā€™t sit well with me to see shinigami who are children. Instead of letting them enjoy a peaceful childhood, children like Ichika are already taught how to fight and wave around a sword.
Thereā€™s no need to make Ichigo end up with Inoue or Rukia with Renji. Forget the romance aspect. Instead of giving a last chapter which shows Chad in a boxing match (contrary to what his character has been doing for the past 600+ chapters), it could have been used to enlighten the readers about the fate of the other characters (e.g. Urahara, Yoruichi) and give them some closure. Make all of them nakama instead. If Rukia needs to end up someone, make it someone unexpected like Hisagi or Kira or Hitsugaya, etc. If Orihime, perhaps with an ordinary human (maybe HS classmate) who genuinely cares about her from the start and is careful with her feelings. If Renji, maybe Matsumoto or someone else. That way, thereā€™s no more IchiHime vs IchiRuki vs IshiHime vs RenRuki and we can completely say that Bleach is not romance at all haha. In terms of anime, thatā€™d mean a lot of cute omakes.
Justify the use of quotes. For example, when Urahara was about to collapse, he specifically left the task to Rukia and Ichigo, but the last seven chapters showed little scenes of Rukia and Ichigo fighting side by side to defeat Yhwach. Iā€™m not saying that Rukia is supposed to take the center stage, but Urahara is known to be a smart character. He wouldnā€™t say those words if they meant nothing at all.
Give Ichigoā€™s friends some character development that arenā€™t entirely focused on Ichigo. For example, make Chad and Inoue [interact] with other characters.
Put some balance to the strength of the shinigami, Quincy, arrancar, etc. The fight scenes were awesome but a lot of them didnā€™t make a lot of sense anymore.
At the very least, bring Bleach back to its core or its basic principlesā€”the soul cycle, the souls Ichigo wanted to protect from the very start. It would have been nice to do a full circle. Itā€™s certainly better than having a shinigami offspring and a human (hybrid) offspring while leaving a lot of open-ended questions.
The bottomline is:
As much as I respect Kubo and love his character design, the environment he was placed in might have forced him to end Bleach with aā€¦ not so pleasant ending. Itā€™s not about the romance. Itā€™s about the fight, the basic principles he seems to be repeating in the earlier chapters, the characters.
With the upcoming anime, itā€™d be nice if they do a reversal of FMA and FMA: Brotherhood. Itā€™d be nice to see them use this anime version to fix the holes, redo, and properly flesh out the manga.
Thank you! Please stay safe. :)ā€
I mean...... the user mentioned FMA and Hitsugaya, so Iā€™m sold :>
