What do you think of Spamton?

he's a great character! but nowhere near a fave of mine and I don't spend any of my time thinking about him ahah

I get why he's popular in that I can recognise he has a lot of traits fandoms go wild over, but I don't personally get the hype around him. Toby made a cool character whose part of the game I enjoyed but I don't really have any emotional investment in him.

...he is at least way more compelling than the Addisons though. like I'd never begrudge anyone for liking them, to each their own, but god they are the most Nothing characters in all of UTDR to me. outside of being accessories to Spamton in the same way early UT/multiverse content treated Papyrus as an accessory to Sans I truly cannot understand their appeal whatsoever kjhgsfdjh

#character hate // I guess?? just to be safe #to be clear I say all this lightheartedly not as a hot take/rant #I'm only bothered by the addisons' popularity when they're treated as more important than deltarune's actual cast #I totally get how it can be fun to take a random background npc and develop them beyond what little info canon gives them #but seeing addison ships put on par with the usual big deltarune ships just. utterly confuses me #I feel similarly about how the fandom treats grillby. he gets put on a huge pedestal compared to other background ut characters #it would be neat if that amount of love got extended to some less popular utdr characters once in a while #holoskart asks #bad opinion zone
